Here are some blank background templates for a Kirby Star Allies style pause screen for both playable/ally characters and bosses. This should have all the individual parts needed to construct your own lore pause screens.

First is the base template. There are two versions: one for bosses and one for playable/ally characters. There isn't much of a difference besides an extra menu option and a different style for the title.

The following is how I constructed the text for the character titles. I use Clip Studio Paint; however, hopefully the settings may help you for whatever program you are using.

Next up is the "Title Line". I didn't know what to call it, but its where the title of the character is put. There is also a transparent version for you to adjust and copy & paste into the template.

Then the body paragraph. Similar to the character's title, hopefully if you aren't using Clip Studio Paint then the settings will help you in getting the text looking right. Or you could do your own thing with the text. This is just a guide on my settings.

Lastly is how the image of the character is done. The style of the character doesn't really matter. All that matters is the bold blue/purple outline, screentone, and a masking layer to make it fit in to the way the pause screens are presented.

Hopefully this helps in creating your own lore pause screens for any Kirby fans out there.

my life has been greatly improved after i did this and i want to help my fellow mobile warriors, but there are no full clear tutorials on it out there, so im making my own

under the cut there'll be an overly extensive but hopefully helpful tutorial on how to use revanced (of youtube revanced fame) to get a patched version of the tumblr mobile app which can reverse annoying UI changes, get prev tags back, and get rid of tumblr live permanently

first of all, this only works on android. sorry. but that said here we go

firstly go on the play store and turn off Play Protect. you'll generally need to turn off/ignore any safety checks you get, and allow to "download from unverified sources" (dw this process is safe, you can turn these back on after you're done)

uninstall the tumblr app you currently have on your phone (the one from the play store)

download Vanced MicroG and ReVanced Manager. install both. ReVanced Manager will become an app you'll need to use for this

go to this link. generally youre supposed to be careful when downloading apks off the internet, but i can testify the ones from apkmirror are safe

now this is where the magic happens. apkmirror has the apks for ALL versions of the tumblr app, from the most recent one as far back as 2015

this is how you can reverse any changes to the tumblr app you dont like, simply get an apk from before the change was made

the one im currently using is v29.1.1.100

pros of this one:

- the old image viewer (you can click on images to zoom in without the weird transparent background and scrolling taking you to unrelated posts)

- prev tags (aka you can click on a post or a reblog to be taken directly to that version of the post or the reblog instead of just going to the top of op's blog)

- general reversal of recent UI changes, like the DM redesign and the update that made everything smaller and round

having chosen an apk, download it. i heard some people say you should only download and not install it right away, but mine only worked when i had it installed, so it might depend for you

now go to the ReVanced Manager app you downloaded earlier

go to the Patcher tab, and there click on Select and application, there you can select the tumblr apk you just downloaded

there you can see the available patches, simply click on patch and wait until its done

i believe if you did not need to install your apk earlier you can just click "install" and install the patched version right away.

but for me, since i had to install my apk, what i had to do was, once my app was patched, click on the folder icon on the bottom left, save the patched app to my phone files (besides the og one, not replace it), then i went to my file manager, deleted the original apk, THEN installed the revanced version

idk if you'll need to do this but it was a pain for me to figure this out so if it helps someone else 👍

and with that its done! if you manage to install it sucessfully, you can just open the app, log in, and youll see if its working if tumblr live is completely gone and all other changes are applied o7

Price―

Despite him being able to use any tech on missions with ease, he can't bring himself to care enough to learn how to use most smart phones.

Price is the worst offender out of all of them.

He was used to simple flip-phone burners that were easy to discard in a pinch and replace just as quickly. Although, if he does manage to keep it for a while, it's clear the phone is built to last rather than focus on aesthetic appearance.

Has a chunky flip-phone that's nearly impossible to break. In fact, the only thing wrong with it is the display screen on the outside is cracked, but still functioning and displaying a picture otherwise. You'd suggest a case for him, but honestly? It probably doesn't even need one.

When he's home, you purposely message him when he's near you or in the room solely so you can hear his obnoxiously loud default ringtone. You think it's funny and he doesn't get the joke.

Needless to say you end up not even bothering to get this man a new phone. Knowing him, he'd only use it for contacting you and nothing more.

Alejandro―

Is the most likely out of all of them to be convinced to get a phone from this decade, although he's very reluctant. He informs you that he'll never take it with him while out on missions. If anything, he'll only use it while off duty.

Even then, he won't be the type for social media or even taking pictures. He doesn't want anyone connecting him to you and something happening as a result.

Once you get him a phone he approved of, I can see him mostly using it for contacting you and playing games on it occasionally. Despises puzzle games similar to Candy Crush.

If it was safe enough, he'd also be the type to keep a picture of you tucked away in the back of his phone case. Not only showing you off as his phone background, but would have a transparent case showing off the physical photo he has of you as well.

I can see him as the type to enjoy games similar to Scrabble, etc. Maybe even the occasional trivia game as well.

Ghost―

Much more reluctant than Alejandro. You'd practically have to force him to accept a smart phone from you. Poor man just wants to make sure your safe and no one knows that you're connected to him.

Hm... probably wouldn't go all out on the latest smart phone and instead, would end up getting something similar to Price.

Extra durable flip phone that's still technically new and from this century, he'd argue that the entire time you two are shopping.

Also doesn't use it often. If anything, you're the only contact on that phone and he prefers to keep it that way.

Does not give in and get a case. Instead, he allows you to talk him into letting you pick out a single charm he can slip on. So long as it's vague and something solely known between the two of you, he'll put it on the phone.

I read the FAQ, but I didn't see this in here: how do you do the transparency trick in the eye comic? It fucks.

I do have my transparency tutorials in my directory but you're right, they are kinda hard to find. I'll add the tutorial links and this brief explaination into my main FAQ.

The basic answer is that by saving my art as .png images, I can keep certain areas transparent! Tumblr's default background for images in light mode is white, so the transparent areas are light coloured and I can make them blend into my image by adjusting colour saturation and opacity levels. When you click on the image it switches to a dark background and any section that had white behind it suddenly has a dark colour filling in the transparent areas.

Hopefully that makes sense. It's a very unique feature that very few other websites have. The cool thing is that it can also be done irl with a light box! Very cool stuff.

Hi ! I'm so sorry to trouble you with such question but I'm curious to "investigate" when/if I'm reblogging art posts : how can I know if it's an AI post or not ? Thank you !

I don't love answering this because AI is always evolving and doing a better and better job at mimicking real artists. At some point, people are going to be looking at real, human-made art and think, "hey, that looks just like AI, I'm not going to share it." And that's because AI is TRYING to look like real, human-made art. That's what it's trained on. So that sucks for real artists. The whole situation sucks for artists.

But that being said, it's good to have a starting place when trying to weed out AI. I personally think it's better to avoid looking for the commonly-pointed-out hallmarks of AI - weird hands, backgrounds that don't make sense, patterns that don't line up, etc. I think these are problems that AI is noticeably getting better at masking. The fact that here on tumblr a post of artsy-looking bloody hands recently got thousands and thousands of notes without people noticing it was AI says a lot.

So, what can you look for? Start by going to the source of the art, whether it be DeviantArt, Instagram, ArtStation, whatever. Hopefully if it's a tumblr post, they sourced it properly. Sometimes the person will outright say it's AI. Great! At least they're being transparent. Probably because they got called out too much.

If they don't say it's AI outright, look at that creator's history - how long have they had an account? I've found most accounts with only AI-generated works are fairly new, usually created within the last year or so. But in that time, they've often posted dozens and dozens of works, sometimes one or more per day. It's very unlikely a traditional or digital artist will be capable of churning out that much content unless their works are simple sketches.

Look also at the styles of each work compared to the others. AI creators will often have either different iterations of the same style over and over and over again with only small changes, or styles that are so vastly different from one another that it makes no sense for an artist to have mastered 20 different styles in such a short time.

Keep in mind there are always exceptions and some real, human artists may have galleries that could be mistaken for AI at a glance. A lot of real artists post process videos or gifs of their works, and that's helpful.

Beyond that, there's not an easy, fool-proof way to spot AI. I look at tons of art every day to run this blog so I think I have a pretty good eye for it, and I'm still fooled sometimes. Not a ton to be done about it until it's regulated, although I would encourage artists to use the tools available to cloak their art posted online so it can't be scraped by AI.

on today's episode of "pieces I put way too much work into realistically!". Since it's unlikely we'll get a quinceñera for Luz at this stage of the show, I wanted to draw a cute scene of it, which slowly turned into posing and lighting practice

Here you go, love! I recorded a quick video for how I record my gifs, as well as how I edit them. I don’t really do anything special, and I also don’t know the best way to actually make gifs with photoshop still since it confuses me a lot still haha... but hopefully this is a bit helpful! There may be a better way though, so the way I do it may be a bit outdated lol. Gifs will also look different on pc compared to mobile on tumblr due to how they compress the gif on each platform.
