Mingi would love to spoil his son fr. Like imagine mingi and his s/o going shopping with their baby son and whatever the little boy points at or whatever his eyes gleams at, mingi is going to buy that for him in a SECOND. Imagine, when his second kid aka his younger son is born, his parenting journey goes quite easily and smoothly because he already has experience when his daughter was born first. Most of the time when his son was a toddler, he would be so grateful when his daughter would be ready to babysit him without San and his s/o having to request her for doing so.

Honestly, not only me but wooyoung HIMSELF said that "daughters are the best" (in that babycloud ep while playing with ayun and arin) implying that he would love to be a girl dad in the future 😭

He would literally be sooo clingy and attached to his baby girl, like he would never leave her side ever since she was born😭 He would love to talk to her and tell her stories about him and his s/o 's childhood and stuff (even tho the poor lil girl can't understand anything cuz she's a mere BABY) well he would tell all that to her again once she's all grown up.

He LOVES to talk to his daughter in baby language, like he always copies every little sound and word thay comes out of her mouth? And his s/o would notice all that & be like " i sure am taking care of not one, but TWO babies🧍‍♀️"

Would definitely turn his daughter into a naughty lil devil just like him. Would judge and tease his s/o together with his daughter all the time, teaches her all the sassy expressions to use against her mum whenever she's scolding her. Took me a long time wondering which category to put Jongho in, but then i thought "he actually seems like he'd be the dad of both a boy and girl, no kidding"

Lets take Jongho being the dad of both a boy and a girl. After both his kids were born, the way he effortlessly takes care of both of them, makes both of them laugh with his silly dad jokes, makes his s/o wonder how being a dad comes so naturally to him.

I feel like he would be such a fun dad. He would play with them all the time and would even do little skits with them, entertains his son and daughter with plenty of horror and ghost stories and funny stories about him and his s/o 's childhood and stuff. He laughs the hardest when his kids are all scared because of the horror stories and his s/o punches him on the arm to make him stop. His family would be such a lively and happy one.

His kids always look forward to Jongho's singing. Jongho always sings plenty of songs and lullabies for both of his kids ever since they were babies. Lets imagine his daughter liking soft ballad songs, he'd be happy to sing all the ballad songs he knows for her. And if his son likes rock based songs, he'd sing such songs for him too. Since a little ago I move to another house and in that new house we have 3 unoficial cats that sometimes came to get some love and food 🤭 (except on of them that almost live with us already), they are really cute and is funny to have them around but thay are a walking disaster

thoughts on the fionna and cake ending

-it was a bit boring. ok not Boring just, not on the same level as all the other eps? especially not on the same level as the previous two (the star+jerry). like it was more of a Cake the Cat ep. it was fine just not world shattering and thats fine ig

-that being said the casper&nova scenes were sooooo boring i couldnt care less. it kinda made me feel like they wanted to show shermy and beth but didnt know how so they just made up whatever??? it wouldve been cool to see more of future Ooo instead of. whatever that was. they couldve made the parallel to simon and betty some other way. or even if they absolutely Needed to show thay weird video game they couldve made it like one scene and shorter lol. tho the detail of it had being astrid that started the story was cute

-i actually liked the resolution to betty and simons relationship. again they couldve shown More of it instead of it just having like, one scene, but i liked how they did it. getting them back together in a fairytail Everything Works Out And Theyre Happy Ever After!!!! wouldve completely taken away from how tragic their entire story is, but making something even worse happen wouldve just made simon feel worse and his character development wouldnt.... exist much lol. having simon come to terms with it, SEND HIM TO THERAPY THANK FUCK and try to move on w his life is exactly what i was hoping for

and i looooove how they portrayed their relationship. ive seen ppl be mad ab it but like didnt yall like that is was codependent and insane and they were obsessed w each other to the point theyd destroy their life for one another? OBVIOUSLY its going to be unhealthy. thats not saying simon is a bad person, or that they didnt love each other. they obviously did. simon loved betty more than anything. but he was selfish. unintentionally, yeah, he didnt realize how dependent/obsessed she was with him and that she just went along with anything he did which i dont feel its his fault, but it still happened, and it still affected her, it made her get deeper into that. its a new spin on their relationship that feels really real and i really like that. yeah turns out that when ppl are so obsessed w someone that they go insane and almost destroy the world twice thats probably indicative thay theres something wrong there who wouldve thought!!!!

adventure time is The "people have flaws" show (bonnie, marcy, finn, jake, etc etc all the characters are shown to be selfish sometimes snd to varying degrees! and theyre all still good people! theyre still just people) so it feels a bit insane to see ppl acting like the show saying "simon too btw" means theyre portraying him as irredemably bad

-i didnt want the fionna world to completely change and go back to bein magic but i was at least hoping the characters world :( like a "modern with magic" situation it wouldve been cool. and the farm/baby/vampworld characters coming in felt a bit random but like eh sure whatever

-i dont think the lack of resolution in all the universes we visited was a bad thing? like i dont even feel like its "lack or resolution" i just felt like. thats how the stories were meant to be told. we come into a world that has nothing to do with us and then we leave them behind, yk? its not our world so we just pass by and dont know how it ends. leave it up to imagination. i thought it was cool we dont need to know Everything

-we shouldve seen marcy and simon interacting when he got back. even if it was just like a interaction without dialogue in some sort of epilogue sequence theyre so incredibly important to each others story and the show even made sure to show us that and we get nothing????? the lack of a scene where he talks to her about how hes feeling and how he almost put on the crown again felt so!! FRUSTATING. the scene in ep two where he calls her even felt like it was setting up for a scene like that! im so mad we got nothing. like i understand the adventure time market is flooded with marceline so maybe they didnt want to focus on her much but still theyre too linked for that relationship to get completely ignored in the Last Fucking Episode of the show

-the implication of fern/phoebe made me pause the episode and stare at a wall for a moment. auaugh.

You hummed as you looked back at San, where he's standing there holding the plastic bag containing your ordered food.

"Hey, you alright?"

"Yeah, just feeling under the weather I guess."

And you're not lying. After the encounter with a certain demon, you've been waiting basically for Jieun to show up. But nothing really happened, which was relieving. Hyein also said that Jieun never directly talked to her, but she did caught Jieun a few times staring at her before bolting away.

Creepy.

"Damn. Did something happened?" San sat down besides you, before passing your food to you. You shrugged, slouching down as your gaze rests on some random movie that's playing.

"Nah, nothing bad happened. Maybe I'm just overwhelmed with work and stuff."

He hummed, nudging his shoulder with yours as he smiled. "Wanna hangout with me later this weekend? Maybe it'll take your mind off of things."

You smiled at him, remembering how well your introduction to the area has been. Thankfully it was a beautiful day to walk, so you offered to just walk around instead using San's overly expensive car that he somehow has. You both joked around, telling stories about yourself, and you didn't even realize how fast time went by because it's already midnight when you both came back to the apartment.

It was fun having a new friend to hangout with. Hyein is busy with her big project, so you don't want to intrude too much but you still help her if needed. Mark is a good guy, but his schedule has turned into a shit storm so you both have no time to hangout too much except for meeting at the cafeteria.

"Yeah? But where will we go? This place has nothing fun to offer," You huffed as you sipped on your Thai Tea. Humming in delight, you didn't notice how San slowly moved over until his shoulder touched yours.

"I don't care," He chewed. "As long as I'm with you, I'm fine."

You coughed, looking away from his smirk as you felt your cheeks heat up. Damn this guy and his confidence with flirting.

Before you answered, your body tensed up when you felt something brushing on the back of your neck. You whipped your head, seeing nothing but San's bedroom door that's slightly ajar. You grabbed the back of your neck and moved your gaze back to the movie.

"Hey, San?" You asked him, but stopped when you saw how he's glaring at where you looked behind, clenching his jaw before looking back at you. "Yeah, what's up?"

"Uh—nothing. It's stupid."

"Aww, come on! What's wrong?" He whined, putting his head on your shoulder before rubbing his head like a big cat. You giggled at his hair brushing your neck.

"No, it's just—have you ever experienced something...weird happen to you in this apartment."

"No? Not really," He shrugged as he sips his drink. "A bit too quiet for my liking. Thought there's gonna be parties every weekend."

You scoffed. "Wrong area. If you wanna go to parties, go to Jieu—uh, the apartment residence near the university. It's packed all day."

You both talked about your day, making comments about the movie and overall having a good time. San gathered all the trash before he excused himself to throw out the trash, grabbing his already filled to the brim trash can before going out.

You played with your phone for a while, texting Hyein and Mark and even Suho because he asked if you want any pastries at work later. You said yes, of course. Free food is free food and you'll always take the offer.

"Hey, (name)?"

"Yeah?"

"Were you expecting anyone to come by your apartment?"

"Huh?" You asked, sitting up before looking confused at San. "No, not really. Everyone I know is busy at the moment."

San raised his eyebrow. "You sure? There's a girl near your apartment door."

What the fuck?

"Woah, woah, woah! Wha—when did you see her?" You bolted out of the sofa, pushing San over to open his door slightly so you could take a peek.

"Literally before I entered, I didn't ask her anything but she kept staring at me. Fucking creepy," He huffed.

There she is, Jieun pacing in front of your door as she bit her nails. From her body language you know she's anxious, but taking a closer look you could see how red her eyes were. Like she didn't get any sleep. Cursing under your breath, you closed the door and quickly locked it. Walking backwards you hit San on the way before he grabs your shoulders. "You okay? You look like you've seen a ghost."

"Uh," You debated whether to answer truthfully or not. But you're scared and you really didn't want to be alone in your apartment after seeing Jieun. "No, I'm not fine actually. Um, could I stay here for the night? If you don't want to it's—"

"Hey," San shushed you. "Of course I'm fine with it. I'll gladly have you in my apartment. But you need to tell me what's wrong."

You took a deep breath, grabbing his hands for support. "San, that person is—"

Knock knock knock

Your heart dropped, voice stopped working as you heard the knocking. You pushed San towards his bedroom, trying to be as quiet as possible.

San didn't seem to agree.

"What's wrong? Is it about the girl before? Is she a problem?"

"San, please! I'll explain later but we need to—"

"Hello? Is anyone there?"

Fuck, Jieun has the worst timing ever.

" San! Wait, no! Please—"

San shushed you gently, rubbing your shoulders trying to comfort you. "Hey, don't worry. I'll just say she's bothering me, maybe lie about how I was working."

You shook your head. "No, I don't want her to see you! She's nuts!"

But San was already walking away, opening the door making you hide behind a wall and crouched down, trying to stay quiet. San's voice became annoyed, telling Jieun that she bothered him while working.

"Sorry, but do you have a girl inside? Maybe she lives in this apartment residence too?"

"What? Why is that you're business?" San scoffs.

"It's my business," Jieun's voice changed into a more hostile one. "Because she has a problem with me! I need to see her so we could end this and all will go away and they'll be back."

You pinched the top of your nose at hearing her nonsense again, trying to make the headache away. San hissed that he didn't know what or who she's talking about and threatened to call the cops if she doesn't go away.

"Fine," Jieun scoffed. "If you see her, just tell her that I've left a present inside her apartment. I'll bet she loves it."

With that you hear her footsteps walking away. You exhaled loudly as you thumped your head at the wall, noticing how tense San became after the encounter. Closing the door, he sighed before walking to you. "Your friend, I assume?"

You grimaced. "Sorta. I don't really know what our relationship is to be honest right now."

"Is that why you wanted to stay? Because you're afraid of what she placed inside your apartment?"

You pause before looking at San anxiously. "No, I-I actually wanted to stay here because I was afraid she'll stay here for a while. What did she mean by present? How did she get in?"

Your eyes welled up with tears of frustration. You didn't gave her any access whatsoever to your apartment. How could she even enter the place? You quickly brushed them away, hiding your face in your hands. You felt tired and sick of this game they're playing. If it's even a game.

"Hey, (name). Come on don't cry," San coos, brushing your hair back before deciding to hug you. The hug was nice but it even made you more emotional as you tried to blink the tears away.

"How about this," He brushed your tears away. "I'll go check on your apartment while you stay here. If I find anything bad, I'll tell you."

He grabbed you before slowly guiding you to sit on the sofa, covering you with a soft blanket. Where he suddenly got the blanket, you have no idea. But it smells like him, so you relaxed even more. You hear San opening the door before closing it, leaving you all alone. You sighed as you slumped down on the sofa, closing your eyes while trying to not think about Jieun and her crazy antics.

You flinched when something touched your head, noticing how it's almost patting your head softly. You huffed before shaking your head roughly. You don't want any of this bullshit happening when you're literally having the worst night of your life.

Fuck the demons.

"I don't know if you're hearing this," You huffed. "But kindly fuck off because I'm not in the mood to deal with any of this paranormal shit right now. If I'm talking like a crazy person to no one that's fine, but if you're there...then yeah," You lamely finished off before laying down. You're mind wandered off to the pink haired demon and also the one that basically invaded your personal space when sleeping, wondering if they're actually here right now.

You distinctly heard a soft chuckle somewhere but you ignored it when San enters the apartment.

"San? What happened—"

"It got trashed."

"What?!" You yelled, sitting up before running towards your apartment. The sight that greeted you was horrible. Almost every corner of the room was trashed. Books, posters, clothes are all everywhere as you walked inside. You checked your personal belongings before sighing in relief when you spotted them still inside.

You don't know what Jieun's playing here, but you're sick and tired of it. Running back you brushed past San before grabbing your phone.

"Hey, what're you doing?"

"Documenting the scene, sharing it with my friend."

You snapped photos upon photos of the apartment, groaning in disgust when you're trash is thrown everywhere in the room. "Real classy," You mumbled. Angrily texting Hyein, you notice San entering, looking around as he grimaced.

"So...what happens now?"

"What happens now is that I'm going to fucking report that bitch Jieun because of what she did to my place. I can't believe this is the stunt she pulled after...nevermind."

"After what?" San cocked his head.

"Nothing," You frowned. Responding to Hyein as she cursed Jieun in her text, San peeked around your shoulder to see what you're both texting about.

"Is the police gonna believe you?" San murmured in your ears, making you shiver. You glared at him but it only made him laugh as he hugs you from the back.

"If I'm not wrong there's CCTV around here, so I'll contact the owner to say that my apartments been trashed by some lunatic," You sighed, the feeling of tiredness creeping up on you mind and body.

"And you!" You pointed towards San. "Me? What about me?" San also pointed towards himself.

"You saw Jieun pacing around here, she basically asked you about me! San, please. You have to help me," You grabbed his hands in yours. "Please? I'll do anything, I just want her to go away with her nonsense."

You noticed how tense his posture became, his breathing almost heavy. "Anything you say?"

"Y-Yeah, but not anything weird, alright!"

San chuckles and nodded, grabbing you again to hug you. "Alright, I'll help you," He mumbles to your hair. "But after I help you, you'll help me with my problems, alright?"

"Hm," You nodded. "Yeah, I'll help you."

San hums sounding pleased as he moved back to look around. "What are you planning to do here? You wanna clean this up?"

You sigh. "Yeah. I'll ask my boss I could take a few days off maybe to clean it. Thank God—"

San flinched and frowned but you ignored it.

"—my assignments are already over. Hyein's busy in another city for her assignment, maybe I could ask Mark to help around."

"Mark?" San growled making you pause.

"Uh, yeah? You're working from morning till the afternoon, I can't let you help me after you've worked. That's just mean."

"Who's Mark?"

You waved him off. "A guy I'm working with at the library, sometimes we eat together at lunch too."

"Why him though?" You could hear the pout in San's voice as you grabbed a trash bag.

"San, I don't know anyone else to help me. I'm having limited options here," You deadpanned.

San huffed before smirking. "Well, if you're okay with it...I could ask my friends to help around. It's not like they have nothing to do anyway."

"What? No, San. You don't have to do that."

"Don't worry. Besides, they've been dying to meet you," He smirks. You raised your eyebrow at his tone but shrugged nonetheless. More help is more help. "Alright fine. You sure they're alright with it?"

"Believe me," He purred. "They'll be very happy."

okay clearly this sending chim back to academy is to have him recognize what a leader he is. but like. god cap would literally be one of the worst bosses in the world if he was real.

and then academy! clearly they're doing a burn tower. fun fact, there's no fire, just smoky barrels to mimic smoky conditions. it's apparently super miserable. anyways i don't know if la does academy all the time or something, but it's usually only done after the new hires come on. and it's only like. 6-12 weeks of job training?? idk. when they recommended my husband spend some days at academy to practice acting up after he did officer school he had to go on his off days from actual work because the city's not going to pay for him to mess around at academy when he's still got to do his current job. they're not paying someone overtime to fill in for him. the exception was when they had him do the week of officer school, but even then on days he had school and shift, he just returned to shift after he was done with class.

ah, the taxes thing. i mean i like the story thay they're gonna get married (chim and maddie) but the taxes thing is just a little silly. like jee is two? and since taxes are done for the previous years 1) they may have already had to do taxes with consideration of jee and living together and 2) we're talking about potentially doing taxes for the year that maddie was gone. so there should be no way that she would he like "i'm gonna claim jee on mine". that whole being gone for majority of it would be a big long conversation. i feel like maddie and chim would probably have had these discussions already.

i do like hen bringing up the whole maddie leaving thing tho. while i want her and chim to be happy, hen does make excellent points about that and their relationship and his indecision in general.

but she is being unfair about maddie having ppd and not trusting chim. because those aren't necessarily connected. women with ppd. listen there's so much shame involved, especially with the ones you love the most. how do you admit to your husband some of the things that ppd might make you feel about your child? depression itself is irrational, but with ppd there's also a real fear that if you admit to some of those things, you will lose your child. but overall it was a good discussion between them.

of course the ring was with jee lol.

and hen and maddie had a good talk. and maddie's proposing aw.

listen i haven't said much about these buck and eddie lovelines, but all in all its generally inoffensive to me but i'm not super feeling it. definitely rushed tho. and buck's new love interest is very underwritten and such a non-presence that i don't even remember her name.

and listen. i like the sperm donor storyline but i also hate when shows lean in on "haha pregnant lady so she comes in and starts eating spaghetti cause she's hungry and makes buck go out just to buy her pickles". cravings and hunger are there, but they're generally pretty reasonable.

Love in Translation Ep 2 Stray Thoughts

Last week, we began one of the most satisfying comedies I've had from BL in a while. Yang Yan Feng wants to open a convenience store at a specific location, but needs a Thai national to hold majority ownership. Pho Jo wants to learn Mandarin and open a business so he can impress his favorite idol. The two initially came to blows over a series of misunderstandings, but they need each other and have opened the shop. Also, Ngern Anupart is playing Pho Jo's older brother, who is secretly dating one of Pho Jo's best friends.

Seems they are not off to a hot start with this store.

I love that Tag is here because Phojai doesn't trust the foreign partner and he wants his brother to succeed so that he and Tag can date openly. That was an expertly-delivered piece of exposition. Ngern has grown so much as an actor.

Are there no rules for using someone's likeness in your marketing without their permission in Thailand?

Okay, Phumjai's story of meeting Tammy is extremely normal and actually cute. I'm so glad it wasn't weird.

I like Yang being the straight man of this comedy. I did notice him watching Phumjai a little closely though.

Aw, it was the parents. Of course it was. The order sounded weird.

I really like the choice of having Phojai be the one to yell at Phumjai about their parents because it gives Yang an insight into Phumjai's life and a reason to be sympathetic to him.

I love the use of that whoosh sound in Thai dramas to make the audience accept the beginning of someone swooning.

I really like Yang helping Phumjai learn how to ride a bike as the first step to feeling more confidence in himself. Bicycles are so satisfying to use and grant so much independence.

Phumjai essentially has Yang flirting with Tammy for him a d he doesn't even realize it.

Tammy is at the store and she is pretty! I'm so looking forward to her crushing on Yang and that making Phumjai jealous.

Guys, this show is TIGHT. This is really one of the most satisfying experiences I've had with a comedy in so long. The runtime doesn't feel wasted and the beats are timed well. I know we have a lot to watch right now, but I'm hoping you check this out when your schedules clear up.

Jisoo was humming happily to the music coming from her phone while doing the dishes from the previous night's dinner when she heard the pitter-patter of feet coming from the room's hallway, meaning that Lisa had finally woken up from her slumber. She expected the Thai girl to come towards the kitchen area looking for something to eat for breakfast, what she didn’t expect was to see Lisa with a blanket dragging behind her as she sucked her thumb and her other hand rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.

“Annyeong Lisa-ya, did you have a good night's sleep?” Jisoo asked trying to gain the attention of the clearly regressed maknae but ended up startling the girl who hadn’t fully woken yet and who gave her a confused expression in return.

“Where am I? Who are you?” Lisa said while looking at her surroundings, not recognizing where she was and who was the woman in front of her who was speaking funny words that she couldn’t understand. The fear implanted in her brain by the strange place was consuming her by the second, finally winning the battle against all of her other emotions breaking Lisa with a loud sob of “Home?”.

After hearing the clearly Thai words coming out of Lisa’s mouth Jisoo started to panic at the situation she had found herself in, she had a regressed girl who never had regressed prior to this instant, a regressed Lisa who was overemotional because clearly, she wasn’t used to Korea, and on top of all that a clear language barrier between the two.

Luckily her brain decided to work at that moment and remember the few Thai words that Lisa had taught her throughout the years they’d known each other, she recognized the words where and home, realizing that Lisa was asking where she was and why she wasn’t home. Of course, Jisoo knew the real reason, but she couldn’t explain it to her because one, she wouldn’t understand a single word she spoke, and two, this Lisa was a little kid who hadn’t come to Korea after her dream yet.

By the lack of a quick response, Lisa started to cry even more, making Jisoo quickly gather her in her arms trying to be reassuring with her broken Thai, muttering every few seconds that she was safe in this place with her. After almost 30 minutes of constantly rocking and words of reassurance Lisa finally calmed down enough to stop the heart-wrecking sobs emanating from her slim frame.

Just as Jisoo was about to offer to make some breakfast after the tiring past 30 minutes Lisa’s stomach began grumbling “Lisa hiu?” asked the Korean tickling the little’s tummy, this broke a tiny giggle from the Thai who nodded while muttering “Lili hiu”, “Ok Lili, let me go make some breakfast” she told the little while trying to get off the tight embrace she was in but Lisa didn’t seem to want to let go Jisoo yet, “Lili baby, let Jisoo go please” she said while trying to get Lisa to let go but such was her luck that she couldn’t muster the force to remove the little from her.

“Lili… Jichu” Lisa said while pointing to her and then to Jisoo, “Yeah baby, I’m Jisoo and you are Lili” said the Korean but apparently that wasn’t what the Thai meant because she got a frown on her face, “Lili ko Jichu! Lili ko Jichu!” said the little while tightening her hold on Jisoo’s shirt.

Finally, Jisoo understood that Lisa didn’t want to be alone “Lili come Jisoo” she told her in English trying to see if she was correct, the little grinned and nodded so she proceeded to cut some fruit while holding the Thai close and proceeded to fed them both.

The rest of the day was spent communicating with a combination of the three languages to understand each other. By bedtime both were tired, so Lisa went down without a fight not that she didn’t like sleeping but the prospect of sleeping in a strange place wouldn’t be tempting to anyone.

The next morning seemed that luck was on Jisoo’s side because Lisa woke as her usual grown-up self but was quite shy after the previous day’s events, which gave Jisoo space to put her plan in action.

This plan consisted of learning the basic expressions in both Thai and English, so if Lisa ended up regressing again, she would be better prepared, and the experience would result in more joy and less stress for both parties. She started right away her journey of learning, which ended taking the whole week… It actually only took her a couple of days, but she wanted to be fully prepared in the pronunciation and structure before trying to communicate with little Lisa again.

Her timing was perfect due to Lisa’s apparent need to regress, the Thai girl would slip some childlike mannerisms into her normal routine. Jisoo would see her drag her blanket around, or how her hand would hover around her mouth when she was tired or sleepy, and how her voice would slip some more childish tones into her speech, among other things.

The next phase of her plan was to get Lisa comfortable enough to regress again, the opportunity to do so, came the morning after their weekly movie night when Lisa woke exhausted after the late activities.

So Jisoo started baby-taking her to help her slip into little space, “Lili baby, are you hungry? Want pancakes and fruit” she said while rubbing Lisa’s cheeks with the pad of her thumbs, she received a hum and a face snuggling into her hand as response. With a final kiss on her forehead, Jisoo went to prepare breakfast with a huge grin on her face at the success.

While preparing their food Jisoo could feel a pair of eyes looking at her timidly from the doorframe, so with a warm and inviting smile she addressed the curious girl “Need something Lili?”, Lisa looked like a deer caught in headlights by her expression, so she only shook her head and went back the way she came.

With a light chuckle, Jisoo kept on cooking, after being done she made sure to cut Lisa’s food into bite-sized pieces and put it on a cute plate set she bought a couple of days prior on the internet, it was koala themed, and she really wished that Lili liked it as much as her.

After setting all the food on the table she proceeded towards the sitting room to get Lisa, “Hey Lili, food’s ready let’s go eat” she said in a quiet tone so as to not startle her, as a response she only got Lisa walking towards the table but before she could reach it Jisoo stopped her and reminded her that she needed to wash her hands first so after that they both sat to enjoy their breakfast in silence since both were stuffing their mouths.

When breakfast was finished Lisa’s face and hands were all sticky and covered in crumbs, so with a chuckle, she tried to wipe her face but the little one wasn’t having it and kept turning her head as to prevent getting her face cleaned. “Lili, stop moving! Let unnie clean you” she said in the sternest tone she could muster, but she couldn’t help melting at the sight in front of her, Lisa had the cutest pout on her face while muttering “NO NO” repeatedly.

After a couple of minutes of fighting against Lisa, Jisoo finally won and was able to get the Thai’s face and hands clean, after this small win they both went towards the sitting room to rest after a delicious breakfast if Jisoo could say so herself.

“Jichu, question” expressed Lisa while turning her face towards the Korean, after getting a hum meaning that she had her attention she proceeded, “Why you no speak funny no more?”  but this only got her a laugh from Jisoo upsetting her “Hey no laugh!” she yelled while crossing her arms over her chest and sporting a pout on her face.

“Mianhae Lisa-ya, you’re so cute,” she said this last thing while squeezing her cheeks before continuing “I don’t speak funny anymore because I learned some Thai and English so we could understand each other more easily”. “Why?” was the only thing that came out of Lisa’s mouth, but the next statement coming from Jisoo really erased all the words from her mind.

“Because I love you”

This liberated the waterfalls in Lisa’s eyes and brought her big self out because her emotions were too big for her little self to deal with alone. Jisoo seeing this made the decision to hug her and comfort her since she knew that was what she needed more in that moment.

After getting Lisa calm enough to speak again Jisoo proceeded to try and get an answer as to why she was crying, “B-because you are d-doing so much t-things fo-for me u-nnie” the Thai expressed hiccupping and rubbing her eyes to get rid of the stray tears still coming out.

Panic arose in Jisoo, maybe everything she was doing wasn’t what she was supposed to be doing “So, you’re feeling overwhelmed? Did I do something wrong? Do you want me to stop doing all these things? Because if that’s what you want, I can do it, it wouldn’t be a probl…”, thankfully Lisa stopped her rambling by hugging her and giving some words of comfort “Of course not unnie, you haven’t done anything wrong, on the contrary, you’ve been amazing taking care of me. It’s just I’m a little overwhelmed by the situation itself, I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that you want to take care of me”

“Of course, I want to take care of you, you’re my yeodongsaeng, so I’ll do everything in my reach to make you feel happy and safe” Jisoo reaffirmed her statement by engulfing Lisa in an embrace but not without a slight tease “… even if it means changing your dirty diapers”.

“OMG UNNIE! WHAT THE HECK! We were having a warming moment, and you had to be like that?” the Thai exclaimed with a hint of indignation on her face, but quickly it turned into a smirk “I guess I could forgive you if you take me to the cool playground, buy me some ice cream…”

“Sure thing, Manofoot, I’ll do all those things so I can gain your forgiveness. Because I can’t live without you” Jisoo answered back with clear sarcasm dripping from her voice, but apparently, Lisa hadn’t finished her list of requests for her forgiveness. “And you have to give me a piggyback over there chikin girl” added the taller girl with mischief before watching the older one sigh in defeat at having been played.

Jisoo proceeded to get ready a bag filled with the bare necessities for a trip down to the playground, there was a first aid kit, a bottle of water, sunscreen, insect repellent, lots of band-aids, and some fruit for a snack, she was debating if she should also bring a change of clothes for Lisa, so she decided to ask “Hey Manobal! You’re going to regress again, right? Or are you planning to stay big for the rest of the day?”.

Without looking in Jisoo’s direction and playing with her fingers Lisa mumbled her response, “I was planning on regressing again… Ifitscoolwithyouofcourse, butifitbothersyouIcanstaybig” The rambling stopped when Jisoo reassured her that it was totally fine.

Happy with the answer Jisoo packed a change of clothes, poured the water in some spill-proof cups, grabbed the wet wipes package, and went to get herself and Lisa’s outfits changed into something appropriate. 

Jisoo’s outfit consisted of a pair of denim shorts, a short-sleeved white graphic shirt, her Adidas falcon, some shades, and a black cap; meanwhile, Lisa’s outfit consisted of some denim overall shorts, a black crop, mid-calf socks, her eytys sonic canvas and some shades, before they were on their way Jisoo slipped a bucket hat on Lisa’s head.

From that day on Jisoo and Lisa developed a caregiver-little relationship, which kept growing more and more as the days passed. But the anxiety made itself present a couple of weeks later as Jennie and Rosé were closer to returning to Korea, and they didn’t know what reaction they would get from the other two members.

The day of arrival was one filled with anxiety from both parties, knowing the rest of the groupmates would be coming home in a few hours. From the moment they woke, the only thing in their mind was to clean the dorm out of any evidence from Lisa’s regression; not because they were ashamed but because they didn’t know how the other two would react.

After making the dorm shine, they proceeded to get clean and get some food into their systems, unfortunately, they couldn’t get more than a few bites into them. Just as they finished putting the dirty dishes away, the sound of the door code being entered made itself known to both girls, making the anxiety increase. 

As soon as Jennie and Rosé put a foot in the threshold the anxiety melted away for the moment, being replaced by excitement at seeing their friends once again after 3 weeks of them being overseas.

“Mandu!! Pasta!! Welcome back to Korea” said Jisoo hugging them, but Rosé got out of the hug quickly as she felt Lego rub against her leg just as Lisa came forward too, “Welcome back Jen” said the Thai while giving her a quick hug.

Hearing Lisa speak Rosé turned her head quickly in the direction of the voice before yelling “LALISA!” and running towards Lisa, seeing this, Lisa yelled back “CHAEYOUNG!”, getting herself ready for the oncoming hug and posterior jumping from both parties emanating joy at getting their best friend back.

“It seems they both missed each other a lot don’t you think so Jendeuk?” said Jisoo throwing her arm around Jennie’s shoulders, “Yeah, there were times when I thought Rosie would die without her buddy. But she seemed to enjoy herself back in LA” answered Jennie snuggling herself further in Jisoo’s embrace.

“Now that you mention it, how was your time there? Did you have lots of fun? And more importantly, did you miss me lots?” smirked Jisoo at the last question, but the response made the anxiety resurface in Jisoo’s body, “It was awesome and well spent our time there, we sure had lots of fun, and of course I missed you lots, who wouldn’t miss your cute snores… But I need to talk to you about something that happened at the time that we were there. We realized something about one of our younger members” expressed Jennie with worry in her voice.

watching bad buddy was the first thing i did this year and it didn’t take me long after to make this blog. it hit me so unbelievably hard, i was reeling, i’m still reeling. i know i’m preaching to the choir but for me it’s unlike anything i’ve loved before. i had been out of fandom for like. almost ten years. before bbs (and a small handful of other beloved thai bls) yanked me back in

well you know. the obvious one. inkpa too OF COURSE. waikorn cracks me up even if i’m a nonbeliever. i loved whatever was happening between pat, pran, phupha, and tian. and i also love, in a platonic way, pran’s dynamic with ink (he makes fun of her bracelet/fakes her out by saying he also liked her…as a friend. it’s very endearing very sibling-in-law) and pran’s dynamic with pa (in bbs but also in bbsos2) 

favorite character(s)

god how to choose between pat and pran. they are both characters of all time. well-developed with idiosyncrasies and penchants for lying and performing and slipping into roles and reversing roles. especially when they’re with each other of course. i might choose pran simply because i see more of myself in pat if that makes sense

it’s probably episode 5, or episode 11. both these episodes just take everything out of me. you know why. runners up: episode 3 and episode 12. this is hard to pick because there is not a single episode i wouldn't enjoy (lol) randomly rewatching. all bangers no skips

favorite scene(s)

i love the scene in episode 4 of pat telling pran his dimples are cute. episode 5 fight scene my beloved. then there's the entirety of the bet era like aside from how perfect it is for pat and pran…it’s just peak romance, peak build-up, such a pleasure to watch. i reeeeeally do love the fantasy sequence of pat and pran eating dinner with pran’s parents in episode 11, i’m fascinated by it in a meta sense but also it hurts so good. i like ming and dissaya hearing pat and pran laughing and singing together in pran’s room in ep12 and being utterly powerless to stop it. it’s like, the show didn’t necessarily need all of ep 12, but it was such a welcome and fitting epilogue to these beloved characters and their love. pat and pran are gonna be alright... 

one thing you would change about the show if you could

i really appreciate all of its imperfections honestly but. it would have to be the aftermath of wai outing pat and pran. even in my first watch it was a head scratcher that pran was expected to be the one apologizing. it just didn’t add up. there was a weight behind what was happening that the show didn’t realize. i can rationalize it and explain it away to make wai somewhat less heinous in universe but it really should have been treated as what it was: an outing. also yes let ink and pa kiss.

I can’t believe I’m writing something not related to Moonlight Chicken (✨Alan x Gaipa/Gaipa x Alan✨), but here we go, before the big MC finale: I managed to finish the totally wonderful 10 Years Ticket, my first Thai lakorn, out of a continued devotion to rummaging the rabbitholes of actors/actresses that tore my heart apart in previous dramas. In this case, in the aftermath of my ravaging affair with Bad Buddy, I had to catch up on Nanon’s and Ohm’s latest works. Dirty Laundry was an easy bucket. Ohm’s 10 Years Ticket was a hell of a something else entirely. 

I understood that, going in to 10YT, lakorns are generally assumed to be soapy, and I had to admit that I was concerned about entering this tunnel -- especially because I have a history of being seriously disappointed by subpar cishet roles for my otherwise dear QL actors (AHEM MACHIDA KEITA, the man needs better scripts; Akaso Eiji is faring so much better). As well, I’m not even all that familiar with Ohm’s other BLs and non-QL dramas, as He’s Coming to Me is on my list of essential BLs to watch, and I’ll get to it soon (SOTUS first). 

So anyway, I came into this apprehensive, especially considering how LONG the series is, at 16 episodes, and I knew there was violence, which I generally avoid. But I should have given GMMTV more credit. It was UTTERLY bingeable, a VERY DEEP study into long-term intergenerational family and community trauma, and I found it totally compelling as someone who’s trained in the social services. And, I am a huge fan now of director Fon Kanittha, who, VERY IMPORTANTLY, will be directing Milk and Love’s GL, 23.5 (EEEEEEEE). So I was glad to check off not just an Ohm box, but Fon’s as well.

AND! Because I’m still so new to Thai dramas, I’ve never seen a QL/drama with Off before (lord help me as I contemplate jumping into OffGun). And 10YT had a wonderful stable of GMMTV actors in Tu Tontawan, View Benyapa (who was fantasssstic), Pluem Purim (who was also great), and Foei Patara (so evil, so good!). 

The casting was superb -- especially for the insanely difficult subject matter.

I don’t know if I want to spend that much time on the plot, but I’ll do my best to explain what plot points matter to why I thought the show was a success. The show centers on Ohm’s character, Phukao, whose half-brother, Mai (Pluem) is shot and killed when Phukao is a very young child. Phukao and Mai’s family are close with a number of other families in their community. Mai is a drug runner, and his girlfriend -- the older sister of one of the other friendly families -- takes the rap for the shooting and is sent to prison, causing almost permanent friction between the families. Later in the show, the girlfriend’s younger sister (Kongkwan, played by Tu), is reunited with Phukao; they were friends as young children, but separated after the shooting, and Phukao had a long-standing grudge against Kongkwan, until he realizes his feelings for her as an older teenager.

I’m going to add trigger warning tags to my review, because as part of the layering of intercommunity and intergenerational trauma of this show, I don’t think I’ve ever seen depicted in a drama a young child witnessing as much as young Phukao witnessed, including post-mortem scenes and episodes of abject family violence. So it honestly was not surprising to me that Ohm/Phukao and Tu/Kongkwan did not ACTUALLY have, quantifiably, a tremendous amount of screen or speaking time.

I peeped on the 10YT tag a few complaints that Phukao and Kongkwan were actually a pretty tame and not exciting couple, but I have to hand it to Fon, because -- I think she rendered these two teenage characters quite accurately. If I were studying Phukao’s and Kongkwan’s childhood stories in a social services course, I’d be amazed that the kids could even talk, considering what they experienced and witnessed by way of violence and loss. 

In other big, macro words: this show was led VERY deeply by the criss-crossed storytelling of ALL of the stories of the families of the community that was destroyed by Mai’s shooting death. The domestic hell of Phukao’s family after the shooting. Phukao terrorizing Kongkwan’s family in retaliation. Off’s character, Plu, caring for his grandparents by entering the drug running trade and lying about going to college. View’s character, Zo, growing up without a mother. A queer storyline at the parental generation. Parents abandoning their kids, then showing up again. A mafia family storyline with corrupt police mixed in. And throughout all of this, a major theme of movie storytelling bringing all of these individuals along on their life growth paths.

It’s a lot of shit, terrible adult-level trauma that children and teenagers had to face, oftentimes alone, oftentimes with parents that were barely keeping it together themselves. People die in the show, parents die in the show. Kids are left to process alone. It’s just a LOT.

And maybe one or two parts were rushed. BUT: I truly think Fon balanced the script beautifully, and I give her major credit for that. To tell a story of FOUR FAMILIES and their interconnected trauma -- and to bring the story together to unite and reunite a group of childhood friends who commit to holding each other down -- it was no wonder this series needed 16 episodes, but it didn’t drag. It paced beautifully, the storytelling was varied, and everything was done honestly, especially the very empathic queer storyline, which I won’t give away, but I’ll just say this: ASIA, we need more elder queer stories, because you do them SO WELL when it happens. It was beautifully and heartachingly done.

What was refreshing for me to watch in 10YT, as I’ve been quickly educating myself on the history of Thai BLs, was to see multiple generations of actors in a storyline. I’m (COUGH) entering my early middle-aged years, and while I love our darling actors/actresses in their 20s, I do need to watch shows with cohorts more around my age as well. 10YT gave me a drama where each episode was led by a different family or entity, and that generational variation lent major authenticity to a show that would have otherwise been lost if it had turned into a teeny-bop vehicle for Ohm and Tu.

For the screentime that Ohm and Tu *did* have -- they were FABULOUS. Ohm was GREAT, Y’ALL. Mans got such chops. Gah. My heart. His poor character got sent through the trauma ringer. Tu mostly cried for her parts, but she played a tough cookie in Kongkwan, and -- not to spoil this, but I gotta say it -- she did pursuer VERY well. Get it, gurl. Off was fantastic, and I can’t wait to catch up with him in Midnight Motel. But for my money, View absolutely ATE her role, and I want to see her have a major role in some amazing all-star drama/QL at some point.

Was 10YT as SMART, and sharp, and critical of intergenerational trauma as Bad Buddy? No, they’re incomparable, because the stories were vastly different. 10YT laid out a reality that parents can actually fail. They can really, truly fail. And even while they fail.... children may feel an unspeakable, inherent urge to still love those parents. And maybe those parents can try to redeem themselves, in some way. 

I’m realizing that what I’m loving about this modern crop of directors from GMMTV -- Aof, Jojo, and now Fon -- is that they do complicated characters VERY authentically. You, as a viewer, are almost not allowed to wallow in dualistic interpretations when trying to understand these characters. No good and bad here, unless it’s screamingly obvious. And I think that’s a really compelling ask for Asian directors to make of what is a majority Asian audience in Thailand, where filial piety towards families is the major name of the culture game.

I hope this could be considered a decent review, because I didn’t dive too much into the plot, as it really would take a huge amount of time to unwind it all, and I apologize that most of this review is just generalist meditation. But let me just say that if you have the stomach to watch a drama that depicts an Asian perspective on community interconnectivity and the trauma that those relationships bring -- then watch this show. Much of the ways in which the families HANDLED the drama in this drama reminded me of my childhood (without all the criminal and family violence, thank goodness). If you’re in an Ohm rabbithole, I’d say this is a must watch, because he was brilliant in an utterly wonderful script.

Scattered* thoughts on GAP episode 1

*I'm serious about the scattered thing, I'm not sure if any of this makes any sense.

I liked it! I will keep watching it! I didn’t watch the trailer and mostly filtered the tags, so I went into the episode pretty ignorant of the plot.

I'm going to get my complaints/concerns out of the way first. 

- I think my biggest obstacle is going to be the business setting, especially a social media/marketing/influencer type business. That was the thing that... didn't ruin, but certainly lessened my enjoyment of Roommates of Poongduck 304. It’s just something I find inherently both boring and annoying. I kept zoning out or pausing and getting distracted during the business parts.

- on a related note, Lady Sam seems like a terrible boss, in a way that also makes it seem like she's bad at running a business. Now, there is a long tradition of terrible bosses in romance, and it doesn't make her irredeemable for me. Already I really like what I've seen of her outside of work! But it is a big obstacle to overcome in liking her and wanting to see her with Mon.

- The third obstacle is very much a me thing, and something I wish I could change. For the past three or so years I've really struggled with reading about or watching women as characters in romance. A lifetime of misogynistic and objectifying depictions of women suddenly caught up to me, and has made it difficult to enjoy even well written non-misogynistic portrayals, especially in romance settings. Unfortunately, this seems to extend to queer women in romance, not just straight stories. There's a very narrow range of women characters (in romance, this is mostly about romance contexts) that get past that these days, and Mon and Sam don't quite fit. That's not to say I dislike them! They do intrigue me. It's just that in order to enjoy them I have to keep pushing aside all that baggage that has accumulated.

Onward to the rest of my scattered thoughts:

- I love that so many of the cast from Secret Crush on You is in this. Perhaps it’s just another job for them, but it feels supportive. I think I did a little scream when I saw Seng & Billy's cameo. And when Sam asked, "who is the other plate for?" I just knew it would be Heng. And a second later he appeared, so I felt very proud of myself. (I only saw him in the opening credits; remember I haven't watched the trailer.) I mostly skipped Sky’s storyline in SCOY, so my strongest association with him is as Phoenix in War of Y, which means that my initial reaction is not to trust him. But I hope he does turn out to be an ally, even if I’m getting the vibes that he really does want to marry Sam.

- I really like Mon's family, especially her stepdad. The family dinner where he and Mon are conspiring about how she can apologize to her mom was adorable. And I liked the nuances and the obvious love in Mon’s subsequent conversation with her mom.

- I found it both weird and sweet how encouraging they were of her decade-long obsession with a stranger. It’s sweet that they were so supportive of her as a general principle (and of course a huge contrast to Sam's grandmother). But also it just seems very weird to encourage your child to plan out her life based on her obsession with a stranger and be so sure that she’s a good person to model based on one interaction over a decade ago. It makes sense for teenage Mon to do that, but for her parents to join in less so. Perhaps it's related to Sam being royalty? I don’t have enough understanding of Thai culture to interpret that.

- Despite the absurdity of Mon planning her life around her obsession, I enjoy it. At first I wasn’t sure if she realized it was a romantic/sexual crush, or thought it was just idol worship, but it now seems like she does. I was never a queer teenager, but I appreciate everyone on here saying that it feels like a very queer experience.

- I really liked both crash-into-you scenes. And the first time we got the trope doubled up! Mon is very good at looking up at Sam with adoration in her eyes. I like Sam's annoyance with her that is starting to be replaced by interest, or curiosity at least. And the bit with the hair caught in the bracelet was very entertaining.

- My favorite moments were any time Sam and Mar were in a scene together–their chemistry is great! So I have hopes for enjoying this series over all. That moment in the bathroom especially - the tension! Plus Sam’s incredibly awkward flirtation with Mon at dinner. Does she even know that she’s flirting? I can’t tell yet what she’s thinking.

- I like the coworkers as a group and as a Greek chorus, even though watching the terrible working environment stresses me out.

- As @thequeenofsastiel says, despite her being a terrible boss, the rest of her life makes that understandable and sympathetic. (I have no insight to add to that right now.) I really felt for her in that dinner with the grandmother - the pressure that she’s under to make the company work. I think mostly I will be frustrated if the show tries to tell me that she’s actually good at running this company despite all the onscreen evidence to the contrary.

- I did appreciate the parallel of Sam saving Mon from being run over from a car again at the end. And a second crash-into-you with even more sexual tension.

- I thought I had more thoughts about this episode on Sunday, but I can’t remember them now/don't feel like writing them out at the moment.

I think that sirius got mad at noel after claire disappeared... for a couple reasons maybe even. for one, lady dorothy cares about claire greatly. and two, perhaps he cared about her a little himself. so, for a while, things mightve been tense between the two. dorothy sould try to get then to make up of course, but... I don't know how successful she'd be. and... I think this wiuld have very much impacted noel. would he feel as though he had to keep an eye on people 24/7 so they don't suddenly disappear on him? never calm dalm, always be on the lookout? and it's slways his fault if things go wrong? claire wouldnt have let this happen. she would know shat to do. claire claire claire-

Kaoru is a "mom" friend who is always there to give some advice and comforts them.

As I mentioned before, Kaoru wanted to be a programmer and a cryptologist until it happened when she was working with Kitsune and made good use of her skills when she joined Perseus.

Kaoru knows any kinds of techniques in Karate, Aikido, and Muay Thai. She knows how to use a katana due to her father's training, knows how to program and hack through the security, and also photography.

He's more of a "suck it up" friend but when it comes to Kaoru and his love ones, he's going all out "dad" friend to them.

He wanted to be a KGB agent like his father as he wants to kick some CIA asses and also prove to his father that he can do anything better than him. (Quite a competitive person he is.)

Dimitri knows martial arts and also some street fight kind of fighting style. Knows how to sneak his way through the security system, counterfeiting evidences, and leaving no traces while killing his enemies.

Scythe wanted to be a spy and a writer when she grew up, that's why she also joined the KGB and Perseus. But during her past time, she would write on her journal or make stories to kill some time.

Scythe is a master of disguise, she can disguise anyone she wants. Being the daughter of a WW2 veteran who is a pilot, she also knows how to operate one. Like Dimitri and Kaoru, she knows martial arts, hacking, and sneaking her way while not getting caught.

Scythe is loved and cherished by her family so much that they even wanted he to pursue her dreams. Moonlight

372 words. A pre-canon ficlet my DM wrote as a response/companion piece to Sunshine and gave me permission to post. Again, not really spoilers for anything in Curse of Strahd, just more setting information and mention of an NPC.

Laughter in Barovia is like magic, I have found. While everyone is capable of it, only a few really use it. And maybe that is why we never quite fit in. Mama loved to laugh, and Daddy loved making her. So when we settled in Vallaki after catching a one way ticket to the grimmest place on earth I thought that maybe we were just what the town needed. That thought didn’t last long. We soon realized why no one was laughing, no one had the strength to. Or if they did it was out of fear-driven madness. Barovia did that to people. It either wore you down till there was nothing left or drove you mad.

So after I lost Mom and Pop there was little left for me but to let this place grind me down. Father Lucian was alright and does his best. He’s stronger than most I think, he hasn’t quite worn down yet. I don’t know if it is faith or his own personal internal power but I don’t think he's one for losing his mind.

I miss the sunshine. I miss the way it felt coming through windows and how it could change the colors of the world to be wildly bright after being in a gloom. I missed lifting my face up and feeling the heat of it on my cheeks and nose. But what I miss more is the moonlight.

The ever present cloud cover doesn’t even share the moon and stars. I remember laying in the grass and looking up at the thousands of stars and my Daddy telling me stories about each one. My favorite nights were when the moon was so full and bright the world shone in silver light. Still water turned to glass and the dew turned to diamonds on the grass.

I know when I talk about it Thais doesn’t really understand. I don’t think that girl has seen a proper night's sky in her life. But the fact she listens means a lot. Not a lot of people do that anymore. I hope I am around when there is a clear night. Then I’ll sneak Thais out to the lake and I’ll show her what moonlight can do.
