Tagged by @aevallare, thank you my love <3 I did this before, but I can't remember how long ago? lol so I'll just do it again.
Not tagging anyone specific but feel free to use this and tag me in it so I can see your answers!
1) How many works do you have on AO3?
228
2) What’s your total AO3 word count?
446,245
3) What fandoms do you write for?
BG3, Mass Effect, Andromeda Six, edit: I can't believe I forgot KOTOR
4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Better Judgement: Rolan/f!Tav, Mature
The Fall: Krem/f!Lavellan, General
Long Rest: Rolan/f!Tav, General
If It Pleases You: Krem/f!Lavellan, Teen
Nights Like This: Rolan/f!Tav, Teen
5) Do you respond to comments?
Yes! I love comments and try to respond to each one if I have time. I've been slacking lately, but I swear, if you leave one, I will most likely respond to you.
6) What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Ooof, that would be the fic where I wrote my Amell joining his wife, @caffeinatedrogue's Leda, on her Calling.
The Calling
7) What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
For a more recent fic (since I write quite a few happy fics), I'd say With Devotion And A Little Luck ended quite happily.
8) Do you get hate on fics?
Not directly. Not sure if anyone vagues about me, lol but no one has ever complained to me personally.
9) Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, occasionally. Usually it's M/F smut, but I've done M/M as well.
10) Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
No.
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't believe so
12) Have you ever had a fic translated?
I'm unsure if I have or not
13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yup! I'm cowriting a fic with a friend that's an original work, not fanfiction, so it's secret. Also do Round Rugan with my friends over at the Zhent server.
14) What’s your all time favorite ship?
Nooo don't make me pick! I'm going to pick one per fandom, i don't care if it's cheating.
BG3- Rolan/Juniper Mass Effect- Charley/Thane Andromeda Six- Damon/Astrea KOTOR- Revan/Canderous Dragon Age (for the hell of it)- Elissa/Nathaniel
15) What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a FemShepley AU where Shepard gets turned into a husk like creature by the Illusive Man instead of the normal Shepard like ME2 and it's almost like a "Ashley tries like hell to help Shepard remember who she was before" fic. It's heavy, not sure if I'll ever manage to finish it, but I'm obsessed with the idea.
16) What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, banter, characterization
17) What are your writing weaknesses?
Smut, world building
18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I won't do it if I can help it, especially if I'm not fluent in it. If it's a made up language, like Mando'a, I will try to learn enough to get by, but I prefer to not butcher a language I don't know.
19) First fandom you wrote for?
Buffy, I believe, but that was a long time ago. As far as tumblr fic goes, probably Skyrim?
20) Favorite fic you’ve written?
Making me pick a favorite child?
I think I'm obsessed with the writing I did in Astrea/Damon's fic, A Shimmer of Gold. So I'll plug that fic today.

the contrast between how angel is treated in season 3 of btvs vs how spike is treated in season 7 of btvs is unreal. like angel’s souless actions actually have lasting consequences and the characters are allowed to have genuine reactions to them vs how spike is woobified and excused and none of his actions have lasting consequences and robin wood is vilified for wanting revenge on spike.
Ugh, I know! It's ridiculous. Spike gets so many narrative devices used to absolve him: the chip, the soul, the first making him kill people... there's probably more that I'm not remembering.
And sure, some characters voice their opinions against him but like you said, those objections have no lasting impact. Buffy isn't allowed to process any of her trauma from the previous season and instead is put in the place of being HIS protector. She brings him into her house where a bunch of teenage girls are living and everybody is made to swallow any objections they might have and just deal with it.
And some people might say that she "forgave" angel too easily about s2 too but I think the big difference there is that buffy loved angel before he became souless. She felt responsible for him losing his soul and then for killing him. When he comes back into her life, she has conflicting feelings about it, which is understandable for someone in her position but everyone's objections are also valid and they are not forced to just accept angel back in their circle because buffy feels like it. Angel spends most of the season separated from the rest of the scoobies and he's only there when there is a need outside of their control.
Buffy's feelings are finally addressed in Amends. Do I think her trauma could've been better addressed/talked about? Yes. But I don't think s3 as it stands tries to erase what happened.
On the other hand, Buffy didn't have a previous healthy relationship with spike prior to the stuff in s6. The stuff in s6 is all their relationship is by s7, so it makes no narrative sense not to address what happened there.

Let me try to express myself better.
When Spock grasps Kirk's hand, it's incredibly layered. Others can give a better summary of the structure of TMP than I can so I'll try to just do broad strokes.
Spock has been away. He left Kirk to go do Vulcan shit and forget how to feel emotions but he can't bring himself to do it. He's needed elsewhere. Kirk and Spock reunite after their extended separation and there's immediately a certain animosity. It almost feels like Spock blames Kirk for him being unable to commit to his Vulcan ritual.
During all this, the B plot is of a couple. They have friction arising from their lifestyles and dedication to duty. Much like Kirk and Spock had for 3 seasons of TOS. The woman gets 'brainwashed' (WAY OVERSIMPLIFYING) by the threatening seemingly unstoppable ancient entity. She loses her humanity*, her emotions and tenderness. She's all logic, no passion. Just like spock.
Plot happens, Spock communes with this entity and is knocked unconscious. He comes to with tears in his eyes, he's expressing emotion in ways we've rarely seen from him. He tells us that he knows what the big bad has been seeking. "This grasps hand simple feeling. "
An aside to explain Vulcans and touch. Spock (allegedly) tries to avoid touching people as much as he can. Vulcans are touch telepaths. Even when he does touch, it is (again, allegedly) small contacts, fingers only, or through fabric.
He grabs James Kirk full on by the hand and... Does what? Why he uses that touch telepathy to channel "this feeling" into him. To directly explain it. And what was that feeling? Why love of course. That is what this entity was trying to understand all along. That is why it 'brainwashed' the lady because she loved her man and it wanted to understand.
This hand holding is like. The Big Gay Moment in Star Trek (aside from Amok Time). It's one of the big symbols in shipping (I think back then they were still calling it slash?). It has to be one of the most well known fandom gay things. surely. It was the blueprint.
But BJ, I hear you say, there's only so many ways two people can hold hands. It can be a coincidence.
Point 1: why was the device Mayor Dick gave Faith designed such that she had to grab Buffy that specific way. They could have had any number of methods but they chose one that necessitated the hand clasp.
Point 2: Vulcan telepathy has the Mind Meld. The two parties merge minds fully. Once you become each other, you feel what that person feels. Their thoughts become yours. You embody them fully. That is what happens to Faith in these two episodes. and like a mind meld, it is dangerous. She nearly loses herself and when she comes back out, she is changed. Buffy is also changed.
Point 3: How do they swap back? With a Katra? What is a Katra?
Well. that's a star Trek thing. It is what my best friend Sarek up there said: your essence. Everything about you that is not physical: your thoughts and emotions and experiences. Vulcans can actually implant their Katra into someone else. And over time, they will start to manifest in the personality and actions of that person. They will gradually become them.
And that is what happens to Faith
Look, I don't know how strongly I can express the importance of the Kirk and Spock hand grasp. I need Star Trek fans to come in here and back me up. This is making me insane. Please tell me I am not the only person seeing this Doug Petrie, I need to talk to you. Douglas. Come Here.

What would spike be like as a boyfriend, specifically maybe to a reader who's really short (like 4'11 to 5 foot short)...
Please don't say drop kick, that's what I got last time I asked for a comfort thing :)
Your writing is wonderful 💛💛
a/n: that’s absolutely awful that they said that, I don’t believe he would do that to be honest! And thank you so much for the kind comment, I’m completely open to criticism for my writing xx
Also I feel like it needs to be addressed his actions in season 6 - I would love a discussion about how others feel (I’ve only JUST finished watching buffy lol) and I love Spike but that episode was a mess? And I don’t want to disrespect anyone ... do we pretend it didn’t happen? do we accept him because he got his soul back?

Tumblr media
⸱ I definitely think you guys have a pride & prejudice beginning. He feigned hatred and tried to ignore you. You were nothing but a mere human to him. You’re close to Buffy and her gang of merry vampire slayers, which automatically made you an enemy
⸱ And yet, there was something about you. The twinkle in your eyes whenever you look up at him, the way you smiled when the world seemed it would end in a second.
⸱ He always considered himself, the Big Bad, but when an ancient vampire named Erylis came to Sunnydale, his reputation shadowed all else. No one knew where he came from, what he looked like. But he was someone to be afraid of.
⸱ You had been captured, drank from, but given something, that once rescued, no one could understand. You did not turn, but some of Erylis’ power seeped from him to you. You were faster, stronger, keener; more awake. Any wounds healed quickly and you were able to foresee a semblence of the future.
⸱ The group helped you the best way they could; Willow was always there to listen. Xander for a shoulder to lean on, Giles for information and Buffy for strength. They still accepted you, but wanted to know what exactly you were now. Some sort of superhuman?
⸱ Spike helped resue you from Erylis; after he had the chip inplanted in his head, what else was he supposed to do? Where else would he go?
⸱ He had pulled Erylis from your neck, and although tempted himself, he saw your paled face and something in his chest changed. Cracked open? Blossomed?
⸱ Now that Spike was ... sort of apart of the gang, he spent more time with you. Especially since he was the only one who wasn’t frightened of you. (The group still loved you, but they did have some apprehension, would you hurt someone? Did you need to feed?)
⸱ Spike was there when some of the questions about your change were answered. In short, there was small experiements. Like eating usual food; did it fill you up the same? Were you craving something else? Nope, it was like before. Except what you had liked before (possibly sweets, or chips etc,.) were intensified. And what you didn’t like seemed repulsive.
⸱ You had no desire to hurt other people, except those who had wronged you. You felt things more deeply, and the things that helped humans seemed to help you x100.
⸱ You always carry lavender and chamomile to help calm you down.
⸱ After getting to know you, he was smitten. He would try his best not to show it, but there was his possessive side that wanted to jump out whenever someone showed any type of interest in you
⸱ And you know what, you felt the same way. When he would be around any other girl, there was a flash of pain in your chest. You cared so deeply for him. But you tried not to show it; I mean Willow caught on. She caught on fast, then Buffy and Giles. Xander was completely oblivious.
⸱ When you had your first kiss, he would’ve leant down, while you were on your tippy toes.
⸱ He’s is vERY protective of you, even though you’re more durable than he is. Every demon knows there will be hell to pay if they go anywhere NEAR you.
⸱ So, it’s actually a good thing for you and the gang... that you and Spike are together, it’s like they have an extra layer of protection.
⸱ However, that does put Spike at risk. But he has plenty of enemies anyway, so he’s used to it
⸱ He likes it when he’s laying between your legs, head resting against your chest as you stroke his face.
⸱ “Ya know pet, I wouldn’t of thought you and I would get along so well.” He mumbled one night, your head resting against his chest.       “Sometimes we don’t,” you replied teasingly.  “Well love, you know what they say.”      “What do they say, Spike?”  “Opposites attract.”
⸱ You always wake up before him, but on the odd day that he wakes first, he’ll bring you in a cup of tea.
⸱ Also I don’t want anyone saying this is out of character because we haven’t seen Spike in a positive relationship. So I do think he would be thoughtful to his significant other (also he’s british, they love tea)
⸱ His favourite thing to do together is when he has his head in your lap, and you’re reading out loud to him
⸱ He tells you tales of the lives he’s lived
⸱ Doesn’t like other people making inquiries or jokes about your relationship
⸱ There’s still tension when he’s around the group, but he is changing with you. Becoming softer, kinder
⸱ You’re becoming more ... sassy? If that’s the right word to use...more in tune with quick-witted comments
⸱ He knows a lot about you, not just because he listens to you talk but he has been watching you for a while. Noticing your quirks in conversations and likes/dislikes
⸱ He knows your favourite movies and books
⸱ Spike loves taking you on adventures, especially when there’s chaos... have probably robbed a place together I won’t lie (it was pub with a sexist bartender, what else were you supposed to do?)

Basically my dream buffy/cordelia fic is this. post season 3, cordelia is done with the scoobies. she just wants to get on with her life, which at the moment is being a fashion major at UC sunnydale, and maybe acquiring a sporty boyfriend and cool friends. the problem is, now that she knows about the supernatural, she can't stay away. after witnessing a vampire attack on campus, she starts researching occult materials and designing monster-proof clothing for herself. one night, she's walking home alone in her latest creation and a vampire jumps out at her. buffy is coincidentally out patrolling and rushes over... but by the time she gets there, cordelia is totally fine, not a scratch on her. buffy is friendly to her and tries to get her to come back, but cordelia insists she doesn't need to be hanging out with such losers anymore; she has a life now. but the fact is, she's not really happy. her boyfriend is perfect on paper but totally boring. the clothes she designs for class assignments are okay, but making monster-proof clothing is the only thing that really feels creative. one day she runs into willow in the occult section of the library. and willow is all, "I thought you left this world" which means that buffy never told her friends that she met cordelia. oooooh. buffy has issues perhaps. so anyway they exchange some words. turns out they both want the same book, but willow got it first…. she says she needs to take it out for a few days…. but cordelia can come to her dorm room (or giles' apartment?) to read it also if she wants :) and cordelia of course says no ew I don't need you! and goes home. and then her bf texts like hey do u want to have a romantic dinner tonight? and she's so sick of him (several texts like hey babe how was your day? thinking about you<3 hello beautiful, to which she rolls her eyes) that she texts back spur of the moment like sorry I have plans tonight with some old friends. actually these are voicemails. and her roommate (popular girl etc) is like omg what a sweet bf you have<3 while cordy is rolling her eyes. and the roommate heard the plans so now she actually does have to go out so she might as well go to giles' apartment, nothing better to do!
and well I could go on but the document is like 2k words. you get the picture. obviously cordelia is going to start making monster-proof clothing for the scoobies. and she is going to have to take buffy's measurements for a body suit at some point. and it is going to be homoerotic

I accidentally ran into some discourse on twitter about how terrible the scoobies were to buffy in empty places and I agree with that but then people started going on about how spike was the only one to ever have buffy's back and the only who understood her and that he was better than her friends/giles/dawn ever were. I just feel like that isn't true and framing spike as buffy's protector feels wrong after season 6. and also, people somehow claim that angel would have sided with the scoobies
First of all, Angel would have NEVER sided with the Scoobies lol. He would have understood the immense amount of pressure Buffy is under being the leader and he would've given her the grace she needed to sort that out. Also, Angel is quite literally always on Buffy's side. There's only one instance where he isn't, but the circumstances are special. I don't really feel like going into those circumstances because they aren't relevant to this ask but if anyone is interested feel free to send another ask.
But Spike never truly understood Buffy. For so long, he saw her as The Slayer, a conquest. A woman that he needed to overpower, control, and "break" to make himself feel adequate and like a man. Then once he "fell in love" with her, that honestly didn't change much. It was all about winning her approval and acceptance so that he could have her. She was always some kind of prize to him, a prize that was majorly tied up in his self-worth and mommy issues.
Season seven is frustrating for a lot of reasons, but when it tried to trick me into thinking Spike really knew Buffy and that they were so close and had all these long talks I was just like.... where? I know that things can happen offscreen, but considering what we saw of their relationship in season six (and how they literally never talked), we needed to see more of these supposed conversations that they had. Mind you, I have no interest in seeing these conversations, but from a narrative perspective, we NEEDED it. The writing was just so weak.
I think Spike understood, to some degree, the allure of being The Slayer and having power rooted in darkness. But Faith understood that better, and Angel *also* understood that. He is not special.
Whenever Spike told Buffy he understood her, it was merely a tactic he used to manipulate her into having sex with him. He NEVER understood her. He simply weaponized her self-loathing from the insane amount of grief and pain she was going through after she was brought back to life.
As for what you said about people saying Spike always had Buffy's back, I talk about that a lot here.

I don't like Angel. I didn't like him in season 1-3 on my original watch when I was a kid, and I actively dislike him as an adult. I think he's creepy and I think his obsession and romantic entanglement with a 15-17 year old girl is really fucked up. People who have worked on the show have said that Angel was the perfect fit for Buffy as she's coming into her powers. I would like to wholeheartedly and vehemently disagree.
The show is brilliant in its use of allegory to show the trials and tribulations of growing up. Vampires, demons, etc. all represent different things that regular teenagers have to "slay" as they make their way through life and hardships. Surrounding yourself with friends, good coping mechanisms, found family, etc. are real world ways to get through life, and I love how the show emphasizes their importance.
The thing is, though: Angel's relationship with Buffy is romanticized abuse. Calling Angel Buffy's true love, or that she should choose him after their relationship ends, or that Angel was a good fit for Buffy in any way whatsoever, is problematic.
Let's break this down:
Angel is an authority figure in Buffy's life. He brings her secret information from the underground. He is older than she is. He is attractive, but he is friendless and lonely. He tells Buffy that she is special, interesting and unique - that she is important to him in a way that no other person has ever been important to him before. His mysterious persona is romanticized. Buffy is supposed to fall for the dark, mysterious stranger - much like many 15-16 year old girls do.
Buffy wants to change aspects of herself so that he will like her more. She tries to act older, more mature and more attractive to get his attention. She feels that he understands her because they were both given destinies that neither of them really want, so he makes her feel special, but also alone, because only he can make her feel better.
These are red flags.
If, in the real world, any of these things were happening to a 15-16 year old girl that you know, the right thing to do would be to tell them that this is not a good, healthy relationship to be in.
The purpose of Angel and Buffy's relationship is to demonstrate this. In some ways, it is actually very well done. When Buffy and Angel get serious and he turns into Angelus, the allegory is that as soon as men have sex, they've gotten what they want and will give up the relationship as meaningless.
(They do this more explicitly again with Buffy's relationship with Parker, but let's not get sidetracked.)
Their relationship is meant to be a representation of the difficulty of teenage/adult romance and the danger of underage sex. I'm going to sidestep my opinions of how any kind of sex in BTVS is represented, because I think that deserves more analysis. The point is that the audience is meant to see, in no uncertain terms, that Buffy's relationship with Angel is wrong.
But... we're not supposed to think that it's wrong. We're supposed to think that it's tragic. The show is trying to teach me that Angel and Buffy are soulmates who are meant to be together and that they can't be is a problem.
They are saying that all of these red flags, all of the things that I've pointed out as being actual real life examples of abusive relationships do not matter. It is all swept under the rug because Angel and Buffy are in love. He can do absolutely no wrong because he's not really himself.
I admit: their story is convoluted because of the supernatural elements of the show. I love how complicated it is that Buffy's lover turns into a monster that she has to fight. It's brilliant that she has such a large character flaw in that she feels so unworthy, so unlovable that she finds herself in an abusive relationship wherein she literally has to kill her abuser to get out of it. That is gorgeous closure for people who have fallen for these same tricks, for women everywhere who have been in abusive relationships.
But then Angel comes back, and this closure is lost.
The divide between Angel and Angelus permits the viewer to see their relationship as only romantic - as tragic, and heroic, and terrible for both sides because the love must have been real, right? Since it is possible to separate out the abuser, we can. We do. Angel gets a free pass because he's trying to do better, to redeem himself, and so they should end up together after all.
And I think that's a horrible message to send to viewers.
Imagine you meet a young girl who is terribly infatuated with an older man. The older man says he loves her, but he separates her from her friends. He treats their relationship like a freak show. He needs it to be secret because he feels too guilty, but prevents her from having relationships with anyone else. That is emotionally abusive, controlling and a terrible way to introduce someone to what healthy romantic love should look like.
It is certainly not a relationship that I would call a perfect fit for anyone.

Princess Diaries 3 Movie....
Can we get a cannon version of The Princess Diaries 3 because I really want to see Mia and Michael as adults falling in love again! Think about it.... They've texted a few times throughout the year, especially on birthdays and holidays. (Michael still sends her dorky Gifs he creates) and they send gifts (like Star Wars or Buffy-related things, ya know, still being the flat-out nerds they are). It isn't weird that they haven't seen each other because Lilly always goes to Genovia to see Mia, never the way around. Michael is super busy because he still crates Pavlov Surgical and could never find time to go to Genovia (especially since he still has feelings for Mia and doesn't want to make things complicated.) So this is how the movie starts..... they run into each other at a charity function in NYC, the first time Mia's been back in years, but this is a major event that she really feels passionate about. Little did she know Michael would also be there. (We don't find out till later that Lilly told Michael that Mia was going to be in town for that event, and instead of waiting for dinner at their house, he had to see her) Then, after the event, he asks if she wants to grab a pie, but Mia says she's really jet lagged, but maybe tomorrow? We see Mia go back to her room and just start swooning all over again and telling herself they are just friends and he's not into her like that. She's talking to herself and Joe (b/c sadly we cannot add Lars this late in the game in the movies and I do like Joe) Tells the princess words of wisdom and it calms her.
UNTIL Michael texts Mia, "It was great seeing you tonight. Looking forward to catching up with you tomorrow." Mia doesn't know how to respond and deletes several texts until She says, "It was lovely running into you! I am also looking forward to tomorrow! Night!" She thinks how lame she is and wants to call Lilly, but IT'S HER BROTHER! So she settles down and gets some sleep..... NOT The next day, she's sleep-deprived and meets her grandmother for brunch. Clarisse sees the bags under Mia's eyes and how fidgety she's being and asks her what is going on. Mia explains, and Clarisse warns Mia about dating too soon after breaking it off with (what his face) and that she is royal and should have the highest standards for the men she dates. (but then mentions she has been keeping tabs on Pavlov Surgical and how marvelous and innovative his company is.) After brunch, Lilly calls Mia to see if she is free to hang out in the afternoon, and unfortunately, Mia has to go to something, but a rain check? So Lilly asks how about the evening..... then Mia fesses up and tells Lilly she has dinner plans with her brother. Lilly acts all interested and asks her what they are going to do. Mia tries to be SUPER casual about it. And Lilly drops the conversation. We see Mia enter the pizza place where Michael has already secured them a seat, and he waves over to her. Joe greets Michael, and they shake hands and exchange words, then go across the room to sit down. Michael goes to order pizza and comes back. It a not a date where it's never ending, and they end up walking in Central Park at night until Michael walks her to her hotel, and they get so close to kissing, but they don't. Not sure how to end the movie, but this is just the start of where I thought it would be a good meet cute again.

27. Human Friends - TMNT 1987
Buffy and Raphael should've been best friends, spread the word
"Poor Little Rich Turtle" is a spectacular episode
almost entirely because of Buffy Shellhammer
all the boys need more friends their age, Raphael especially
and these two could have gotten along SO WELL
in that episode, Michelangelo’s level of attraction to Buffy is inversely proportional to Raphael’s begrudging respect for her
I bet Raphael tells her about Michelangelo's crush as a joke
and she declares she has no interest in anyone human, turtle, boy, girl, or otherwise, and they high-five/three about it
he would love having a rich friend that lets him hang out in her mansion
he makes fun of her for said mansion but still shamelessly takes advantage of her wealth
which is fair since she’s been trashing his sewer home since day one
Leonardo’s joke about seeing "how the other half lives"? Yeah, they run that bit six feet under
she does not care that Raphael and his brothers are local heroes they’re just some weird little dudes from beneath the city to her
she is, however, so excited to learn about all the hidden sewer routes around the city so she can escape her more boring responsibilities
they're both made of pretty tough stuff and predictably bond over their abnormal childhoods and limited connections/friends
"don't get out much, do you?" he says like he doesn’t have equally negative amounts of experience with normal teenage fun!!
zero understanding of typical friendship rituals between them
they wrestle, gift each other weird stuff, and spend a lot of time trying to figure out what normal teenagers do, only to give up and do something else because the things they thought of sounded boring
they'll just randomly ask each other stuff like, "did you know most people only eat three meals a day with specific foods for each meal?" and be totally confused together about it
they also have the most skewed concept of money
Raphael has never paid for anything in his life other than pizza, and while Buffy knows the exact value of super niche chemical tech supplies, she could not give you a reasonable estimate for produce
a lifetime with Donatello has made Raphael a surprisingly good sounding board for the more technical aspects of Buffy’s work
which she does enjoy, as well as cutthroat business operations, she just hates her public persona and sucking up to adults who think they know better than her
he likes to hold the fact that t(he)y saved her life (multiple times) over her head, but like as a joke
except for when he tries to use it to win arguments
unfortunately, it never works, she is the most ungrateful brat ever thank you much
they very much share that I don’t owe anyone anything attitude
EXCEPT for Master Splinter, whom they mutually respect and agree is the only acceptable adult
she unironically complains about humans with him but particularly has beef with adults, and he heartily encourages this
they love that they can be total jerks around each other without hurting anyone else’s delicate feelings
THEE besties who judge people and hate each other affectionately
all the insults: "martian" "nerd" "pet store reject" "spoiled brat"
when they’re not coming up with colorful insults for each other, they’re doing it together for other people
it's their favorite bonding activity <3
since she enjoyed their initial misadventure so much, she asks if she can go out with the turtles to fight and stuff again, and Raphael laughs at her
until she takes a bunch of martial arts classes and totally kicks his shell
and, well, he supposes a nice easy patrol or two might be fun
unfortunately, the team cannot handle the strength of their combined sass, and she’s forbidden from ever joining them again, even though she has a mean left hook
ultimately, I think they’d mellow each other out now that they have an outlet for their angst and eventually grow and learn a lot from one another
but, mostly, they just talk so much crap together

jen, i've been trying to think of something super unhinged for nice ask week and i haven't been able to think of anything. so here's my shit excuse for nice ask week and sorry that you might have to look some of these up. please rank these fictional vampires in order from least want to befriend to most want to befriend AND ALSO from not-est to hottest (others opinions are welcome - this is MY ask, MY rules - just kidding pls post this jen, i worked so hard on it):
1. count dracula, dracula (specifically, the 1992 adaptation of the novel in which gary oldman - admittedly, my older gentleman crush - plays dracula)
Tumblr media
2. stefan salvatore, the vampire diaries
Tumblr media
3. damon salvatore, the vampire diaries (had to ask for both brothers, come on)
Tumblr media
4. laurent, twilight (u know i think he is a lil something something)
Tumblr media
5. daddy cullen i mean carlisle cullen, twilight
Tumblr media
6. dakota fanning looking extremely slay, twilight
Tumblr media
7. spike, buffy the vampire slayer
Tumblr media
8. count von count, seasame street
Tumblr media
9. eric northman, true blood
Tumblr media
10. bella swan, vampiric edition, twilight
Tumblr media
11. blade, blade
Tumblr media
12. me.
THANK YOU FOR COMING
hello, lola. first let me start by saying here is a different vampire ranking without a definition of best, just vibes (you create one vampire au and suddenly this is your whole life). I am not rereading it though, so no promises that I'm not about to contradict myself
I appreciate how hard you worked on asking this, so I hope you appreciate how hard I worked on answering it
Least want to befriend to most want to befriend:
damon - he seems like a walking red flag, he really does
2. dakota fanning - I respect a girlboss but I do think she would kill me after one wrong move. would constantly have a tummy ache, stressed to the max.
3. spike - I have never seen buffy, but google tells me he was a villain. have to play it safe here
4. bella - I'm so sorry bella but I think you would annoy me
5. blade - I really tried looking him up to give an honest friend ranking, but there were so many version?? is it a comic? a movie? a tv show? idk I got confused therefore he defaults to the middle of the list
6. laurent - one of the nicer members of his little posse (unlike that bitch james). might try to kill me but a good sob story would probably get me out of it
7. count dracula - i just read his backstory. that's so tragic, I think he could use a friend
8. carlisle - turning a bunch of teenagers into vampires when they were on their death bed is a little odd, but he had good intentions. and now look at the house he provides for them like I'll move in no questions asked
9. stefan - admittedly have only seen a few seasons of tvd, but he seems to have some kind of morals so that's always a good place to start for a friendship
10. eric - "calculating yet loyal and generally willing to absolve those that aggravate him, unless they have grievously crossed him. However, he is fiercely vindictive towards anyone who harms or threatens those he loves". thank you, trueblood.fandom.com. If I'm befriending all of these vampires, making him a top priority seems like a good choice
11. count von count - he has a cat. I'm using him and abusing our friendship for that. sorry count
12. lola - who shouldn't (?) be on this list (unless you have a secret to tell)
okay hotness below the cut because this is already too long
Least hot to most hot
1. dakota fanning (jane) - default to last because she is a child lmao
2. count von count - he is a cartoon (puppet? I don't know). I feel like there is only one right answer here and it is to put him in the second least hot position (unless that's your thing. you do you)
3. damon - this man creeps me out. I don't know if it's the eyes or what but again, bad vibes. stay away from her (elena), old man!
4. count dracula - willy wonka looking vampire. sorry to your older gentleman crush. you can keep him
5. eric northman - I do not know this man but he is giving 'just some guy' with a little bit of finance bro
6. bella - one too many awkward smiles while tucks her hair behind her ear moments, you know?
7. spike - cheek bones are cheek boning. some may say too much though. hair is giving 90s boy band. although for his time I can excuse it
8. carlisle cullen - not the biggest dilf in twilight, but an important one
9. laurent - unfortunate that you didn't pick the picture where he rolls up with his jacket undone and no shirt underneath. what an entrance. he also gets hotness points because laurent is a very good vampire name
10. stefan salvatore - the objectively better brother based on my limited knowledge. good picture. love a henley moment. look at those forearms.
11. blade - I don't know this man, but I would like to.
*you can't be ranked on the hotness scale because you did not provide a picture. sorry ;)

Tell me all your best wholesome Spuffy headcanons
This is an insane ask and you are going to get an insane answer, I have so many floating around in the ten vegetable soup that is my brain and I'm just gonna ladle out a bowl right now, I hope you're hungry
-Spike obviously writes Buffy poems all the fucking time, sonnets, odes, limericks, rambling streams of consciousness, about how her hair catches the light, all the different smiles she gives him throughout the day, absolutely filthy descriptions of him going down on her, how she is a warrior and his hero, how she fills him up and makes him and remakes him and how deeply she has become a part of him, what just sitting next to her on the couch in their home feels like, and he fills notebooks with them, he scribbles them on napkins and the backs of receipts and post its and whatever paper he has on hand, he leaves them in her pocket or under her juice glass in the morning, softly recites them to her when she's falling asleep or when they're having (relatively tame (for them) and therefore easy to speak during) sex, she notices him scribling away at one and he lets her read them, and every time he doesn't expect anything and for her to laugh or say they're not that good and every time she is completely floored by the depth of his feeling for her and the things he sees in her and the way he sees her and every time he can't believe she actually likes what he writes, that she understands what he means and is touched and affected by it the same way he is
-they share jewelry. She still absolutely has the skull ring and sometimes she wears it on her finger and other times it's on a chain around her neck. I like the idea that Buffy has a name necklace like Dawn has in Tabula Rasa (maybe they were Christmas gifts from their parents one year), and Buffy gives hers to Spike and he wears it every single day. He thinks it marks him as hers and he fuckng loves it.
-they take so many pictures. With cameras, in photo booths, once they figure out cell phones they use them non stop. They have the normal smiling ones of them and their friends and Dawn at birthday parties and dinner and day to day nice moments, and then they also have ones of Buffy beheading a demon on patrol, Spike making fangs out of onion blossom, each one tries to catch the other one crying at movies. Also they absolutely sext each other all the time and it's filthy and they love it
-when Dawn teaches them how to text, Spike's first text is to Buffy and it's "what are you wearing" despite her sitting right next to him on the couch. She takes a full two minutes to type out what underwear she has on and he keeps trying to peek over her shoulder but finally she manages it and they race off to their bedroom and Dawn tries very hard not to think about anything as she leaves
-Buffy finally gives in and listens to Spike's carefully curated playlist of Punk Songs To Show Buffy To Get Her To Like Punk Rock, and it fucking works
-Spike rents every ice skating movie he can get his hands on and they make a movie night out of it every time
-Buffy helps Spike bleach his hair. Obviously.
-Spike takes Buffy and Dawn to the ice capades when it comes to town every year after learning she used to love going when she was younger and he actually ends up having a great time and Dawn cannot believe how lame her parents are
-Buffy buys weird spicy sauces at the store for Spike to try just because and he almost cries helping her put the groceries away
-they go through a lot of furniture, from demons coming in and smashing stuff to sparring going to far to getting so wrapped up in their crazy super-powered sex that they don't notice they broke their third coffee table of the month, so the local secondhand shops LOVE them, they think they're interior designers or realtors or something and think it's just lovely a young couple also work together, and so successfully if they keep coming in
-Buffy wears Spike's button up shirts over her tank tops and bralettes all the time
-so we know Spike has a hair kink so of course he loves running his fingers through her hair, he does it absent-mindedly, but Buffy also love running her hands through Spike's hair and he also loves it and he purrs whenever she does it for awhile
-they have monster movie nights with Dawn where they watch horrible cheesy vampire movies and make fun of them
-Buffy makes Spike tea. It is the worst tea he has ever had but she has a special mug she uses and a tea strainer that is shaped like a heart and she buys all kinds of weird spicy teas that she thinks he might like and she proudly presents it to him and it is his favorite tea he has ever had

btw, do you already dislike Xander? I'm kinda hoping you're going to start writing rants about how much he sucks lmao, but tbf his worst moments are yet to come. I also hope you'll end up hating another male character that most people love, much to my chagrin.
Alright! No more letting this ask sit. Anon, I hope you're around and doing well because we're finally gonna talk about Xander Harris.
I wanted to answer this at different points during my Buffy journey and now, towards the end of season 5, I have to say that... Xander's fine. I totally get where your hope comes from, my notorious Finn posts and all and though I'll get into aspects of Xander I dislike in a moment, I'm afraid I can't be the manhater you need on this occasion. From what I've seen though he's not that well-loved? In my limited experience anyway. So the Finn Hudson effect doesn't apply in that sense, either.
Where I would be frustrated with Xander in similar ways I am about Finn's ch is that sometimes he is framed in an annoying way. He never gets even just called out for lying to Buffy at the end of season 2 or acting like a major asshole in 3x02. All the Scoobies are coming at Buffy there, sure, but none with such vehemence and in such a self-righteous way. Self-righteous hypocrites really piss me off. Had I answered this at the start of season 3 I probably would have been much harsher on Xander than I'm gonna be now. His Angel hatred was so irrational and not worthy of an "I told you so" upon Angelus' turn and it's irritating how entitled he is to Buffy's decisions. Not to mention, I don't care if him sulking about Buffy's rejection is realistic teen boy behaviour, it's tedious and embarrassing. She made it clear that she was not interested and Xander was such an ass about it. His crush on Buffy was a pain to get through and frankly, I don't think Xander deserved either of the girls he's been with since. Cordelia most definitely not and I think Anya deserves better, too, because she's genuinely devoted whereas it really feels like Xander's with her just because it's convenient for him.
Tumblr media
His latest really, really annoying moment was his Riley speech to Buffy but honestly I'm just so glad Riley's gone so I'm gonna swiftly move past that. Whatever, Xander tried helping Buffy and luckily she was too late to act on his advice. What stupid advice, anyway, as if Riley was one in a million. Hon, he was literally the 999,999 in a million.
And I said I wouldn't go hard on the guy, huh? Lmao well that was pretty much the list of my grievances. In general? Xander's... fine. He's not gonna be my favourite Scooby in any scenario, no way, but I think since mid-season 3 he's been a lot more tolerable and even enjoyable on occasion. He does feel sort of useless at times but that's acknowledged and a part of his journey so I appreciate that. I don't fully buy into him being the Heart of the group as that position is something that I hold precious, see Katara in ATLA. And no way Xander can even touch what someone like Katara represents within her group dynamic. But I also see that being the Heart is mostly about courage here, loyalty, and as much as he makes mistakes I gotta give Xander that.
Even in that interpretation I struggle with the guy because a) he does have these icky sexist moments that are just not funny and they're meant to be and b) he's not... that full of heart. I just think pettiness gets in the way too often and, compared to someone like Willow's flaws his are more annoying and in general, more. He's not quite the Nice Guy syndrome because he is general a genuinely good friend to Buffy and the others but I wish he wasn't such a teen boy. Or, if he was, cause ya know they unfortunately do exist, that he was framed just a little more critically. I get that that's too much to ask of Whedon's late 90s feminism but it would make Xander an easier character to vibe with. I mean, I'm guessing there must be a reason I had zero idea about his existence prior to watching the show but had a vague idea of most other Scoobies. I knew so many things about Willow and was aware of chs like Oz, Cordy and Tara, but I was half-expecting Xander to only last a season or two. Because surely, if he was there for the whole show I would have heard people talk about him already.
So, yeah, it might not sound like it because I more so talked about the negatives than positives but I don't hate Xander by any means. He's not frustrating enough to be loathed or ranted about but he's also not nearly engaging enough to be on the level of the other Scoobies. He has his moments, though, and more often than not I find myself enjoying Xander-centric episodes. Soooo... is that anything? I hope I don't disappoint but now that I'm at the end of season 5 maybe you can share more about your Xander thoughts, I'd be happy to listen.

What would your argument be to ppl justifying Belly’s behaviour as her being a teenager? Because I’m like so is like every other character ever? The OC Gilmore girls one tree hill TVD gossip girl , like why are ppl pretending this is the first teenager ever and all is justified bc of it because teenagers make mistakes and their emotions are messy…
Well 1. She can just be an awful teenager. Like "they're a teenager" doesn't magically wipe away all bad behaviour, there can be particularly selfish and self-centered teenagers. 2. I've mentioned this in pretty much all of my reviews I think the show is too lazy to really tap into the chaos of emotions you feel as a teenager
I'll provide examples but I am well aware that what I'm going to say I felt and saw with these examples is what I'm meant to see and feel with TSITP but the issue is Belly is a nightmare because the choices she makes all seem entirely avoidable. And not like hindsight, as an adult, I now know I would not make those decisions, just generally, it's like, you could just not do that, Belly.
So, for instance, Oz/Willow/Xander in season 3. For two seasons, we see -- without reliance on voiceover and flashbacks -- how much Willow has secretly-not-secretly pined for Xander and she's given moments that are super teen and uncomfortable because of how teen they are. Like, they almost kiss when he wipes away the ice cream on her nose
Tumblr media
and they're interrupted and she wants to recreate that moment so later on, she purposefully puts yogurt on her nose to get him to notice her
Tumblr media
and it falls so flat
Tumblr media
and she's crushed
Tumblr media
she wants Xander to see her differently so Buffy tries to get her to dress sexily on Halloween
Tumblr media
but Willow ultimately chooses to go as a ghost and Xander is a dick about it
Tumblr media
and that's super high school.
We see her heart break
over
Tumblr media
and over
Tumblr media
we also see that every time there's an episode where Xander breaks her heart,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it's also an episode that shows that he will risk his life for her
Tumblr media
he always ends up choosing her over the girl he's romantically interested in
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in some capacity
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
so that when he finally does notice her when she's with Oz because Xander is such a teenage boy,
Tumblr media
I've been aligned with Willow enough and the show has really solidified their relationship that even if I don't agree with what she's doing I'm like yo, I get it, if the guy I've liked forever is suddenly calling me stunning and there's a vibe going on even though I'm with someone I like/love I can understand at 16 how that's confusing and you make stupid choices
Tumblr media
There is literally nothing about being 16 that will have me like I can see how Belly told Conrad to go to hell in front of everyone at his mother's wake.
It's one thing to see him with Aubrey and jump to conclusions and rush out of the room and as an anon said lock yourself in a bathroom or run outside and keep going.
It's another to do this
Tumblr media
that's not being a teenager that's being a dick.
Added to the fact that the writing is weak like I said before I never saw this
Tumblr media
I never saw Belly trying so hard to connect with Conrad and Conrad shutting her out, like again, we don't get this energy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
for her to see him with Aubrey and have that breakdown. It's bad writing.
And then when she's drunk at the beach and is all "If I'd known you'd gone to Jeremiah, I would've fought for us" in the same breath she says "I thought we loved each other", he hadn't given her any indication that he didn't love her because he's waxing poetic about how they're infinite and he's making all these grand declarations that I'm just like, Belly what??
Another example is Joey/Dawson/Jen or Joey and Dawson in the first two seasons of Dawson's Creek. Joey is pretty terrible but she's terrible in a very fifteen year old kinda way where I'm like it's not fair, Jen does not deserve this but I understand it because you're fifteen and you're in love with a boy who is clueless and self-centered and this interloper comes in and takes all of his attention and you're not mature enough yet to be like this isn't Jen's fault. You're just territorial and jealous and angry and you're being horrible.
And the pilot does a very good job in establishing all of that in the first ten minutes because Joey is frustrated with Dawson in the opening scene because she wants their relationship to change, she's talking about how they're getting older and they're getting hormonal
Tumblr media
and Dawson is so convinced they're not sexual, he insists they share a bed and says that he doesn't even see her as a girl
Tumblr media
but it's clear when he sees Jen that he very clearly sees her as a girl that he's attracted to and it's frustrating for Joey to watch
Tumblr media
so she's just angry and I get that.
Then when she and Dawson do get together and she kisses Jack and then blames Dawson for it and breaks up with him, I got why she did it and I got why Dawson was upset
I can get on board with the idea that Joey had been in love with Dawson for so long and had idealized him for so long and had been nothing but his best friend for so long that now that she got what she wanted, she’s having a sort of crisis and realizing that she needs to find herself outside of their relationship and that Jack kissing her was something new and it was wrapped up in her desire to learn more about art and find something she was passionate about outside of Dawson and that’s why she ultimately ends things with him because she needs to go do that.
But the thing about the writing for Dawson is that he is self-involved and he is self-absorbed and a majority of his friendship with Joey that we’ve seen has been him bitching about his problems (which isn’t to say we don’t see Dawson be there for Joey because we do but not nearly as much because at this point this show is still very heavily about Dawson, it is called Dawson’s Creek) and Joey responding to that and Joey will tell Dawson to get over himself, tell him when he’s being trite, tell him when he’s being boring, tell him when she wants to talk about something else, tell him when he’s being privileged, but she never tells him hey, let’s talk about me now, hey I’m getting kind of tired just being there for you, so when she’s yelling IT’S ABOUT ME, IT’S FINALLY ABOUT ME, I can see how in her head it is that but I think it makes absolute sense that he’s like ………. what? I did not know that’s how you felt and you’re making the fact that you kissed another guy MY fault what the hell??
And then she doesn’t give him a chance to do those things in a relationship, which fine, but then what gets me is that she wants to continue to be friends with him afterwards and is surprised and indignant when he’s like you dumped me and I don’t want to talk to you right now. Like NO. You kissed someone else, blamed me for it, dumped me, and now you want to be friends still? NO.
Like when you think about Joey’s “inner life” as they say so many times on this show, it makes sense, but because she is actually really bad at communicating, she just seems ENTIRELY unreasonable outwardly.
and it's like none of you handled this well at all because you all suck at communication but this is very teenage soap-y drama where if you just had the capacity to thin outside of yourselves for like fifteen minutes this could've gone a very different way.
I don't have the same type of grace for Belly who kissed Jeremiah then chose to be with Conrad immediately after, then had a huge public meltdown about Conrad being in the same room with his ex and then is now like hey I'm kinda vibing with Jeremiah again because it doesn't feel unavoidable or inevitable or understandable especially considering that when we do have flashbacks to her time with Conrad it doesn't seem like she felt Jeremiah's absence at all. She says that she missed him, Conrad says it's tearing Belly up that he doesn't return her calls but there are no scenes to actually suggest this and when they do see each other at Thanksgiving she makes zero effort to talk to him she just smiles at him awkwardly and makes a half-assed attempt to get him to be social
Tumblr media
So Jeremiah now just seems like nothing more than convenience or a fall-back plan for her. And I'm sure before they get together, they'll have that conversation and she'll be like no it's you, it's really you, you get me but you were just breaking down on the beach to Conrad about how you would've fought if you knew he loved you while also saying you thought you two loved each other. It doesn't come across as 'oh to be 16' it comes across as callous.
Belly just seems like she does whatever she wants to do and makes herself the victim and messes with people's emotions without care and if that was the point, if the point was like oh yeah you can be a nightmare as a teenager then that would be one thing but that's not the point, it's just supposed to be oh the woes of a young heart and the complications that arise but Belly, imo, is entirely unsympathetic.

[initial reactions] Star Trek: SNW 2x09 - Subspace Rhapsody
This was a fun musical episode! I still say Trek shows should be more than 10 episodes because there are some character beats here that feel it needs more than a few episodes to just be and breathe.
(Once again laughing that Paul Wesley managed to escape a musical in TVD only to leap headfirst into a show that would do a musical and he can't walk away. This is laughing in fun btw 'cause I do like Paul Wasilewski and his real-life snarky dry sense of humor, but also, HAHAHA. They got you, Wasilewski!)
I liked it! It wasn't Buffy the Musical, but that's okay, it was fun and it moved character arcs along!
I haven't mentioned before but I really love the medical uniform Chapel's wearing, which I think originated from Discovery s1 and 2.
I love how it took a while for Uhura to sing but when she did, she hit a breakthrough. I love that this was her episode but it wasn't just about Uhura.
The musical numbers I really enjoyed: Uhura's solo, La'an's solo, and Chapel's whole musical number. The three strongest singers of the show.
I'm glad that La'an was able to tell her secret because it was weighing on her so much and I'm glad that
Speaking of episodes where character beats needed more than 10 episodes. It's such a whiplash to go from Spock and T'Pol breaking up to Christine and Spock being together for what 2 episodes? I am glad we got Christine's song how this was something that can change her life forever. (If I'm not mistaken that guy running the program will be her ill-fated fiance). But we've gone from Christine pinint for Spock, to being ambivalent with him, to Boimler throwing cold water into the fledgling relationship with Spock. I wish we got to see Spock and Christine have just an episode or more to be in a relationship and happy.
There's not enough Pelia! (Speaking of, where are the other engineers? I know the answer is most likely covid restrictions but I wish there were some engineers working in Engineering in the background).
You know what? I've tried but I just had a thrill of happiness at all the moments Spock and Uhura were together. I know it's not as popular a ship as Spock/Kirk and Spock/Chapel but the TOS version I'm most familiar with (aside from the original TOS movies) is AOS. And since then Spock/Uhura is my ship. So, I'm just gonna embrace it. I ship them!
The Klingon boy band!
Uhura really is my favorite! I love how she started as someone uncertain of Starfleet to finding connection and family in the Enterprise even though she still felt alone at times. I love that Communications Officer is a vital part of ship's functions. Also, with the way Uhura is, it makes so much sense she makes Captain in the future. She has an air of someone who would be so good in Command.
Speaking of, I wish Discovery had these kind of fun episodes instead of one long story and I think this episode really highlighted the problem with the crew of Disco. Aside from 4 characters we really don't know the Disco crew as well as the SNW crew, I don't know what the Disco bridge crew's 'I want song'.
"I wan't" songs are, according to Playbill:
"The term is thought to have been coined by Lehman Engel, founder of the BMI Workshop for musical theatre composers, librettists, and lyricists. These songs are more than just inspiring musical numbers—in many cases, they launch the journey of a play, allowing the audience to get an inside look at force driving a character's action. They express a dissatisfaction or a dream of the character that propels them through the musical."
It's really sad that it seems season 5 is the season when the show regains their sense of fun. I hope the crew is written more of an ensemble in the final season. Disco is a good show, it just really needs to fix its ensemble writing.
Back to SNW, that was such a fun episode I'm also glad Una's taking her second chance to build more relationships and be more open with her crew. It makes sense.
BTW with all the Red in security and the Gold in Command... it occurred to me that SNW Enterprise crew probably thought Mariner and Boimler were Ops!
Anyway, that's a good episode! Good penultimate episode!

Finally Watching The Teen Wolf Movie
I finally got access to Paramount+ and while I've been using it to watch Star Trek, I thought it was high time I tried to watch the Teen Wolf Movie.
Now I already know the ending and I already know who the bad guy is.
I am only 20 minutes in and I just... 4 people wrote this together and it still ended up this BAD? I thought when I saw people saying it was bad, that they were just overexaggerating. Nope. I already have SO MANY questions.
Why would Scott leave his pack?? That never made sense in the show and it still doesn't make sense in the movie. You're the Alpha bro. Act like it.
Why in the world does Liam have the nogitsune box?? He wasn't even there for that Arc!! Isaac was the one who had it last along with Chris. Why would they ever give it to Liam?? I guess if they thought he was the last place anyone would look but... idk. It's just weird.
Speaking of Liam, I have nothing against him being with Hikari. That's fine and dandy. They seem super cute. But... who... who were the guys with guns???? Is Liam a part of a gang? Are they his new pack? I have hopes this will get answered later in the movie, but knowing Teen Wolf... it probably won't.
I know we all are wondering who Eli's mom is. And it's like the writers aren't even trying to be logical with it. Allison died 15 years ago. Eli is 15. That means Derek had to have him with someone during season 3. But the only person he was with during that time was the crazy Druid lady, Jennifer. Are we supposed to believe she's the mom?? That doesn't even make any sense because she died just a few days after sleeping with Derek. My Conclusion: Eli is the Dawn of Teen Wolf. If you've watched Buffy, then you know what I am talking about. He has literally materialized out of nowhere and the memories of the characters were altered to make them think he had been there all along. The is the most logical explanation for his existence.
"Why is Jackson here?" is the summary of how I feel about this movie so far. It's like the writers totally forgot how AWFUL Jackson was when he was on the show. It was bad enough when they brought him back for no reason for the final season. This is even worse. He's not even really Jackson. It's like he went off to London and magically became Sherlock Holmes. Jackson was NOT that smart. EVER.
Scott saved the dog before saving the little girl. Wow.
They try to add cussing to be like "Yeah! We'Re A gRoWn Up sHow NoW!" But the dialogue is still cheesy as heck. Don't get me wrong, I love cheese, but this is just.... it's spoiled cheese. Also, JR seems like he just wanted to see how many F words he could get away with.
Oh so Chris just so happens to know some kind of ritual for this exact situation? And he's just bringing this up now?? The whole conversation between Scott, Chris, and Deacon is so clunky it hurts. (EDIT: okay so I thought Chris was acting funky. It's the fox. Alright. That's fine.)
Surprisingly, I am not that upset about Scott still pining after Allison. He's a wolf. Wolves mate for life. Plus it tracks for him. He's always been like that.
Lydia... I love you honey but what was that whole thing with rubbing down Scott's arm and holding his hand? Was that supposed to be a comforting gesture?? It was way too flirtatious.
Peter hasn't even shown up yet and he's the only reason I will keep watching.

The Buffy Re-watch: S1E8 (part 2)
I, Robot, You, Jane
How did Buffy follow Dave? He was driving a car all the way across town, how did she keep up?
Xander coming in with the useful info. He has lived in Sunnydale all his life (probably) and would know that the 3rd largest employer in the town had shut down. That would be huge news. Also his uncle worked there.
Buffy make a Spider-Man reference to spider senses and Giles does not understand. Probably thought she was turning into a spider demon. I do not want to see that.
Does anyone read out loud what they type? Just curious.
Oh Malcolm, you've showed your hand too soon my guy. Now Willow is mistrustful of you.
And back to the tech, good or bad, debate. Yes, it can help society but it can also hinder and stunt other parts to it too. Both Jenny and Giles have valid arguments, it's just about getting the right balance between the human and the virtual. That being said, say no to AI and support real people and their professions, eg artists, actors, writers etc. Please support the WGA and SAG-AFTRA during their on going strikes. Told you in my last post these tangents and rants would happen again, I knew they would because I wrote it in my notes.
So Moloch being the evil dick that he is, is erasing people medical histories as a nurse didn't know about a student's allergy and they most likely died as a result. Allergies are no joke.
Dave is being a sketchy guy and tries to kill Buffy by electrocution.
Dave was really just a good guy who got mixed up with the wrong ones, he didn't deserve his fate. But when did Fritz get behind him?
Next question: how did Buffy not notice the dead body in the room? She walked in pretty far and looked around but did not see the body until she bumped into it.
News reports on the radio in Giles' office about more shit that Moloch is doing.
Jenny knows about demons! Gasp. Though if you live in Sunnydale you probably should. It's no like they keep themselves hidden all the time.
You never see phonebooths anymore, the convenience of mobile phones rendered them obsolete. Though if you lose signal on you phone, run of of charge or just straight up lose/break your phone, phonebooths would be useful.
I kind of like the look of Moloch's tech body. It does give me Captain EO vibes though.
Okay, how realistic is it that neck breaks that cause instant death in the way the Moloch does? Paralysis I can understand, but sometimes you kind of doubt it if it really kills someone. I know he's a demon in tech body so will be very strong, but sometimes they just don't look like they would actually kill someone. Or I have seen Dr Mike react to them too much so now I'm doubting it too. But you bet your ass that I will be complaining about some of the chest compressions we'll see on this show.
A man planning an assassination attempt on his mother is not a good thing, Moloch. Unless she was a truly horrible person then could understand, but still extreme.
Our big bad is trapped in his tech body thanks to the work of Jenny and Giles and Buffy ends him with a well timed duck. I say that's good teamwork guys.
Giles is right, tactile experiences matter. It's linked so well with human memory that the absence of it can leave a memory harder recall.
Where does Jenny dangle the corkscrew from?
Buffy, Willow and Xander's dating histories will be littered with weirdness. Vampires, demons, witches, slayers and apparently a previously mystical ball of energy used to break down the barriers between worlds. Yeah, I know about Xander and Dawn getting together and having a baby in the comics. I do not know how I feel about that.
Tomorrow we talk about the horrors of puppets and talent shows.
