for VT/taleblr in general i think a lot of lemon demon's discography fits it well, especially the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny. and the next dimension. both of these songs are kind of homestuck-y too now that i think about it
sibling rivalry by pup is a really good acachalla family song, as well as kids by the same artist.
similarly i think touch tone telephone and ancient aliens are good P.I.E. songs.
i actually have full playlists for some characters- some on my youtube page, and some are kind of just in my head. if i had to narrow down the songs for each character it would be like this
toast - evacuate the dancefloor by cascada, i am not a robot by marina and the diamonds, kaleidoskull by lemon demon, ravers in the UK, take it off by ke$ha, are you satisfied by marina and the diamonds, so its like half sad amv music and half music i think he would actually listen to. people forget hes not just some prim and proper brit, hes also a hard drinking party boy.
ghost- problems by mother mother, bloodeater by mom/girls rituals/cats millionaire/devi mccallion, flight of the crows by jhariah, oh oh oh sexy vampire by disko warp, jerma meatgrinder remix??(if this also includes jimmy casket songs) haunted by laura les, and uh fuck it bad blood by creature feature. and ofc secret by the pierces.
maddiefriend - crazy town by marz mitzi, doktorspiele, best friend by toy-box, prescription by msi, bill watterson by lemon demon, weird science by oingo boingo, serial contraption of malice by ghostie-p, and magical doctor by maretu.
sally - the end by lil uzi vert and babymetal, gimme chocolate by babymetal, mommy's little monsters by creature feature, dead bodies everywhere by korn, IT GIRL by aliyah's interlude, ready to die by andrew w.k., chu chu lovely muni muni mura mura, little girls by oingo boingo, barbie girl, when i grow up by the pussycat dolls, etc.
sue - woof woof by arthur, i cant handle change by roar, 1989 by msi, entomologists (original version) by ghost/ghostie-p/marz mitzi (i forget how they went by at the time of releasing that song), good news by the garden, my alcoholic friends by the dresden dolls, bloody mary-kate and ashley by pup, and ummm no specific song but i think she would listen to korn
billy - fin fin come and see him, butterfly by smile.dk, girl you need a shot of b12, september dark planet by arthur, walking by steampianist, still feel by half alive, gangnam style nightcore by psy, lego racers ost main menu and also the building mode music, boyfriend by big time rush, tbh i just get a lot of eurodance and boyband vibes from him. there are SOME songs that make me think of him in like an amv way but not many
sadly i must admit gertrude and papa i dont imagine amvs of them often. to any songs. except maybe aim for the head by creature feature, i feel like thats a gertrude song. same w spooker chris and any other characters i didnt mention. i simply do not think of them that much while im listening to music. sad!
spencer (main course - i have an entire playlist for him but i'll try to trim it down in this post) - karkat's theme from the homestuck ost, black hole by steampianist, eighth wonder by lemon demon, cabinet man by lemon demon, evil me by arthur, september by the living tombstone i think? the brony song. welcome to kitty city by cyriak, cat hacks by lemon demon, the machine by lemon demon, the blind prophet from the homestuck ost, the 'you are an idiot!' song from that one computer virus, the first watamote ending song, want you gone from portal 2, waiting for the world to end by mother mother, buried alive by creature feature, stupid stupid world by talking kitty cat, weekly shonen bye-bye by pinocchio-p, alphys from the undertale ost, ode to crayola by lemon demon, just monika from the ddlc ost, not safe from the off ost, christmas kids by roar, here we are from the undertale ost, awoken by h8 seed ft woodentoaster, hole-dwelling by kikuo, amygdala's ragdoll by ghost, faget by korn, evolution by korn, and oxidation and dream monsters by ghostie-p. boom. thats basically the meat of my spencer playlist.
i just remembered i also have a cywren caster playlist but im gonna limit myself to gmod roleplay characters cause im tired of typing and i dont think anyone cares anyways. if u do though check my youtube channel O.K. much love bye

if youre still taking requests, could i ask for a playlist for a girl slowly driving herself insane trying to find her missing sister :3?
hmm let me see if i got anything
Margo- Harula Rose
Oh, Margo
There's still so many things that you don't know
Oh, Margo
It seems a luxury for you to hold
When the roam the streets at night
You long to shut your eyes
This is not a world for you
While you seek out the truth
Your home is on the water
Yeah, you are the river's daughter
And now that you've learned how to kill
Will you ever be still?
always loved this song for someone who's stuck in a state of wandering and trying to figure out their situation, which i think would be true for a girl trying to find someone missing!
Touch-Tone Telephone- Lemon Demon
Oh, I'm crying now, authentic tears
They flow out of me when I think about you
'Cause you're the only person in the world who'd understand
'Cause you're the only person in the world who'd understand the meaning of this
Oh my god
I try, and I try, and I try to make you listen to me
I try to call you every day
I'm rehearsing what to say when the truth comes out (of my very own mouth)
I've been working on a unified theory
If I make it through tonight, everybody's gonna hear me out
ultimate song for characters doing this:
Part-Time Believer- Boy & Bear
See, I was under the impression I was gonna lead
Some kind of simple, understated life
But now I'm living in the shadows of a memory
And I hope so, man, I hope so
It's been way too long
It seems that I can't celebrate my meaning
For I am too young to mourn
And if it won't release
It pulls and it pushes me 'til I wither
'Til I wither, 'til I wither
this song has such a strong sense of Waiting for someone and not wanting to have to mourn them, which I think fits the vbe of looking for someone missing!

I dearly hope you are enriched with selenium and pizzer after that. How are you holding up? Other boss is angry I start/leave work 6 minutes early. I gave her my best "I'm not going to stop this but I have to listen" face. You know the one. She was supposed to help me start a protest but is a busy single mother. And it's back to school, my beloathed. BLEH. So my plans are in smoke. Sigh. Either way I'm still here. I could have bathed in the amount of corn flour yesterday. Or gotten breaded. I don't think I'm a snack though. What else? I accidentally performed successful surgery on myself. Protip: don't do this. My fanfiction is coming along swimmingly. Have you played the stony particle yet? I just wanna gush about the funny gay game men. Serious analysis style. Glad you're playing the funny lesbian game! There are people who say the stanley parable is to mlm what portal is to wlw. I think it's accurate. Seen some crossover fics but none just right. I never finished co-op mode but there is a cutscene at the end of that I've seen. It's been ages but I could probably play that again. I love how mean the series gets. I hear there was a lego crossover but it felt slightly to the left of what it was supposed to be. Guess that's the point. Kidies don't need to know about the darker lore. Not yet. Give em a few years. Need to play aperture desk job, myself. Looks interesting. You ever hear of Bear Ghost? They made a song called Starkiller that is fan freaking tastic! Who knew this good a song could come out of star wars?
I am I am!! Sorry for the late response again. I need to work on responding more quickly ehe...
Oh no that sucks DD: I hope things start working out better soon!!!
I have not played The Stony Particle yet, if I'm assuming correctly that you're saying The Stanley Parable. And yeah I'm playing Portal 2!! I played the first one a while back and am finally getting to the second, once I've finished playing single-player I'm gonna try out the co-op mode with my sibling. We have some pretty different ways of solving the many puzzles, so it's gonna be fun!!
Ooo I think I might have heard of Starkiller!! I don't have access to YouTube rn sadly but I'll listen to it when I can!
I recommend Touch-Tone Telephone by Lemon Demon (if I haven't already in the past fjdbfjdbnf). It's a song about a conspiracy theorist trying to contact Leonard Nimoy fjbdcjbd

Dropping the Ranboo mixtape
Anyway at time of starting to write this post I had two likes and two affirmative replies, which is Good Enough For Me, so here I am :D I was gonna link the YT but on second thought my YT channel is a mess so this is gonna be one of the annoying ones that doesn’t link to one you can actually listen to but
This is also a running list and currently organized roughly by increasingly hotter takes and it’s under a cut bc it’s 13 songs and I justified all of them
Everybody Likes You (Lemon Demon) - LISTEN THE ANIMATION MEMES WEREN’T LYING THAT EVERYBODY LIKES YOU CAN RANBOOCORE. The increasingly distorted, incredibly bright repetition of EVERYBODY LIKES YOU EVERYBODY LIKES YOU EVERYBODY LIKES YOU until you can hear it morphing in and out of EVERYBODY LIED TO YOU? Tell Me That’s Not Him In The Spiral Depths
Tall (Naps the Block on YT) - This is a) literally a theme for the End, b) sounds stumbling and anxious/high-strung, and c) echoes the Pigstep melody in the middle while still very much doing its own thing this is self explanatory
Dance of Thorns/Old Secret mashup (Tensei and James Roach respectively, feat. woodfur00 on YT) (yes this is Homestuck music) - It’s just the vibes. The energy. The way the elegance of the violin lines of Dance of Thorns sounds almost nervous especially against the almost noir mystery vibes of Old Secret, and the guitar lines of Dance of Thorns add like. Initiative/urgency especially when they underlay the other music it’s so good I don’t think either song alone is Ranboo vibes but this remix definitely is. Just the mix of perseverance and desperation and melancholy and mystery and Class
Touch-Tone Telephone (Lemon Demon) - This one is old news but tbh it just works. Man decides he’s the correct one in this situation and he’s losing his entire mind that no one is listening to him because he just is not
2012 (Will Wood) - This one isn’t really clever it’s just about memory loss, derealization, identity, and often self-hatred (“A miserable fuck, but a loud Tao mystical” is a lot). “Did you lose yourself?/It’s always in the last place that you check” sounds so mocking in ways internal monologues like Droice have been and “I might find myself/By retracing my steps” is literally just Ranboo dealing with the Enderwalk; “And not until lobotomy abolished my monotony/Did I applaud autonomy, and modify a lot of me!” works so much for him Dealing With Himself generally, and also “I heard the world would turn to hell/Compared to that, I’m doing well!” is a Him sentiment
Hand Me My Shovel, I’m Going In! (Will Wood) - Jokes about the three hour mining/grinding streams aside. Not only is the chorus so heavily a spiral/self-evaluation mood, but literally consider his thought processes abt the things he’s done/allegedly done and then consider “My dreams were shattered like a stained-glass window/Jesus in pieces! I believe I through a brick right through Him/But my memory could not be saved!/It just seems unlikely that it’s me who was to blame/So I bookmark my DSM, ‘cause I need to remember my place.” And now with the advent of the “experiments” the second verse’s “Take the road on higher ground, and tell me ‘don’t look down! You’ll fall and break your back’/But that just reminds me how there’s more to be found beneath the black!” is more relevant than ever
Friends With You (The Scary Jokes) - Oh my god. Oh my fucking god man. This could be on here for “I put myself to bed just halfway through the party/I love all my friends, but I hate when their eyes are on me” alone but the general almost empty saccharine vibe of the song is immensely his vibe; the humorlessly-smiling vocal fry on “don’t know” in “Why do you pretend/You don’t know who’s to blame?” is probably responsible for 80% of this read. Not to mention the first lyrics are literally “How long do I have to wait/’Til my lonely days are over?” which is really the. The waiting it out man the So When Do I Get To Be Okay of it all. Shoutouts also to “And the crumbling infrastructure no one else can see,” the self hatred of “I miss being friends with you/But what can I do/What can I do/But leave you alone?” and to “And I can tell you really love me/Can you tell I’m really sorry?” Just. The mix of hope+affection and dejected cynicism and self-hatred in the lyrics
Saline Solution (none other than Mr Wilbur Soot) - Remember what I said about waiting it out until you get to be okay? Anyway that’s crystallized in “If I could just break one more night/Maybe I could wake up and feel alright” and also this is literally a song about catastrophizing and self-evaluation just,, in general and I will not be highlighting all the lyrics about this but I will highlight the fact that he literally calls himself pragmatic and also the lyric “blurring the facts and the fiction.” Also, the sheer desperate anger-concealing-breakdown vibes of “I think I’ve made my choice” to “I think I’ve found my voice” deserves a mention, as does the culminating end of “saline solution to all your problems” with the tears+now splash water motifs of it all with Ranboo I am going to die
Funny (The Scary Jokes) - This is actually a softer take but not only does it literally start with the singer pleading with the addressee to look away, it continues with “I went up in the middle of the night and I climbed right onto the stage/And I raged/And I cried/Oh, what a funny joke am I” disregarding everything as performance, reemphasizes the opening demand with the qualifier “it’s not that I hate you, it’s just that I’m funny these days,” and then kills you with the last couple lines which. Yeah he does care and it does,,, just,,,,, a
Chemical Overreaction (Will Wood) - This is where the mood VIOLENTLY whiplashes because this is where we get unhinged. Anyway “I won’t stop to drop to draw a line in the sand/’Cause I’ll be picked apart to pieces by coyotes!” is LITERALLY the whole “I don’t do well with ‘peer pressure’” thing. “Where the sentimental value of the city around ya/Is deleted obsolete, but still completely will stun ya” is the single most L’Manberg lyric I’ve ever heard, especially from the perspective of a character whom I will repeatedly insist is narratively in the role of someone who’s shown up and seen the status quo as an outsider after it’s been established (hence the eternal New Kid vibes). Chorus very much has vibes of Ranboo Is Seized By The Urge To Do Something, and like. The entire dramatic end part. The last two lines especially (be very careful if you look up the vieo for this by the way it is NOT pretty; cws in the video for flashing, blood, suicide imagery)
A Mannequin Adrift (The Scary Jokes) - The Bitterness. This song is just fully The Bitterness at the environment he’s stuck in; the saccharine comes back as does the “peer pressure” thematic and just the Having An Awful Time; the sarcastic saccharine comes back too, which is always good I love passive aggression. Honestly the first verse is just everything like just listen to it it immediately makes sense
Poison Ivy Grows (The Scary Jokes) - This is overall a song about having bad brain and not knowing what the hell to do about it; it’s so faintly bitter and distant and melancholy and also so zoned out. Also, it’s not the only lyric that matters here but it is enough to be a full argument on its own: “I used to spend so much time/Wandering around outside/Now I’ve got too much on my mind/Now I’ve got too much on my mind”
Spring Haze (Tori Amos) - Listen. Do I know what Spring Haze is about? No. Is that gonna stop me from saying it’s about Ranboo? Also no. I just think “You say we’ll never make it there/So all we do is circle it” is so much, the fact that the bridge at the end is just “Why does it always end up like this?” repeated, and that it just feels so much like overall the song feels like a desperate attempt to figure Something out, and the chorus is just inexplicably him? It might be partially influenced by the fact that “Uh-oh, let go, off on my way” and, to a lesser extent, “Uh-oh, way to go” is not only in accordance with character vibes but also vaguely evocative of Ranboo’s speech pattern

Do you have any songs for the TF2 Mercs? Sort've like their theme or just songs when you listen you think of them?
Sorry this took a bit, I needed to find some good songs! I'm such a huge fan of music (I don't really want a career in making it or anything, I just really like it!) So I'm gonna give each character 5 songs each, but seeing as I'm not as in-tune with a few of them… this was a bit hard to put together, but I think I’m fairly happy with the results!
Engineer: Cabinet Man - Lemon Demon : That's Okay - The Hush Sound : Me and Bobby McGee - Janis Joplin : Rooster - Alice in Chains : Old Town Road - Lil Nas X. The first song is a bit out of place, but I like to think Engie is just a lil’ more in love with his work than most folk. Other than that song, I tried choosing a few softer songs as well as country ones, or just ones that reminded me of him. I hope you’ll like them!
Demoman: The Beer - Kimya Dawson : High Hopes - Panic! At The Disco : Gasoline - Halsey : Amsterdam - Imagine Dragons : Hey, Asshole - Watsky. I’m not as knowledgeable of Demo’s lore, but from what I’ve read, I really like him, and I think he could relate with a few more depressing songs, while still wanting to blast some happy tunes! A lot of contrast with these songs, but I think they fit Demo well!
Soldier: Popopo - Steampianist : Burn - Admiral Fallow : The Weight of Us - Sanders Bohlke : The House That Heaven Built - Japandroids : This is War - Thirty Seconds to Mars. A lot of war related songs, as well as just songs about wanting to be greater than you are, even when it’s hard. That’s the sort of vibe I get from Soldier- you know, other than being Feral- and I tried to incorporate those things into this mini playlist!
Medic: Touch-Tone Telephone - Lemon Demon : Control - Halsey : Lent - Autoheart : When You're Evil - Voltaire : Handlebars - Flobot. I like to call Medic’s mini playlist “I’m Feral and I Don’t Care How You Feel About it!” All in all, very dramatic and vicious playlist, but let’s be real, that pretty much sums up Medic as a whole.
Heavy: Kids - MGMT : Idioteque - Radiohead : Zombie - The Cranberries : Your Best American Girl - Mitski : Work Song - Hozier : The Call - Regina Spektor. I struggled a lot with Heavy’s playlist, as I have a bit of trouble trying to get who he is as a character, but at the end of the day, I think he cares deeply for his family and teammates, and would enjoy songs about working hard, trying to fit in, and tragic childhoods.
Pyro: Little Game - Benny : Billions of Eyes - Lady Lamb and the Beekeeper : Edge of Town - Middle Kids : Elevator Operator - Courtney Barnett. Very happy go lucky playlist for the most part, with a pinch of LGBT undertones from the first song. I dunno, I just want Pyro to be happy!
Sniper: Why Am I Like This? - Orla Gartland : Johnny Boy - Twenty One Pilots : Future Me Hates Me - The Beths : Lemon Boy - Cavetown : Fill in the Blank - Car Seat Headrest. Oof ouch, the bushman be depressed and honestly I feel that on an emotional level. Lots of sad songs, but with a hint of Sniper wanting to feel better and work hard!
Spy: Pigeon - Cavetown : Not the Ghost - The Crane Wives : Problems - Mother Mother : When I'm Gone - Eminem : Tarifa - Sharon Van Etten. Now we’re in the big leagues (aka why I made this 5 for each and not just 3); I get the feeling that Spy is rather self-destructive, at least when it comes to forming relationships, and I tried to convey that through my song choices, as well as songs about wanting to be there for someone *cough* his son *cough*.
Scout: Devil Town V3 - Cavetown : peacefall - Purity Ring : Hey, Ma - Bon Iver : Squealing Pigs - Admiral Fallow : Little Lion Man - Mumford & Sons. As usual when answering Scout questions, I project, but hey, I think this time it’s pretty valid! Most of the themes for Scout’s playlist are about growing up, and the unwillingness to, as well as dealing with frustration and homesickness.
BONUS Miss Pauling: Help - Pink Guy : Pristine - Snail Mail : Don't Let's Start - They Might Be Giants : Today Today - Jack Stauber : Girls Like Girls - Hayley Kiyoko. Gay rights (I think it’s canon that she’s a lesbian??? Man I gotta read the fucking comics). Bit of depression paired with women being badass af in this playlist!
BONUS The Administrator: Oh No! - Marina and the Diamonds : Matilda - alt-J : Big God - Florence and the Machine : Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin : Army of Me - Björk. I may as well have asked the Administrator to step on me with this playlist; lot’s of selfishness and a longing for power for her songs!
BONUS Scout's Mom: My Mom - Kimya Dawson : Fast Car - Tracy Chapman : Your Ex-Lover Is Dead - Stars : I Will Wait - Mumford & Sons : 1985 - Bowling For Soup. Gosh, I miss my mom... anyways, I think Scout’s mom is a good mama, and even though I also think she’s been through a lot, she still loves her kid and husband, even if they’re far from home at the moment!
I went a bit overboard, didn’t I? Oh well, this was very fun to do, so thank you so much for the ask!

☀️ cult of dionysus
a playlist for my friend caz
link to playlist: here
tracklist and favorite lyrics below
1. only as good as my god - everything everything
And on the steps of my church
There, I'm chasing down a red girl with my hooves upon a-
Ooh - Wild
Ooh - Child
If they crawl out of the mud
Wash them away in a flood
I'm only as good as my god
Burnt hair and more money
2. disciples - captain murphy
Don't you want devoted followers?
Who leave their families for you
Give their money to you
Give their bodies to you
Give up their lives for you
Consider you God, and will kill for you
Don't you want to become a cult leader?
Since the death of God there has been a vacancy open
You can fill that void, here is how
3. dionysus - bts
Just get drunk like Dionysus
Drink in one hand, Thyrsus on the other
Art splashing inside this clear crystal cup
Art is alcohol too, if you can drink it, you'll get drunk fool
I'm now in front of the door to the world
The cheers I hear when I get up on stage
Can’t you see my stacked broken thyrsus
At last I’m reborn
4. good hand - turbowolf
And I say
No pain, no gain
That's the mantra I'm repeating
No sun, no rain
That's the mantra I'm repeating
No pain, no gain, no sun, no
No pain, no gain, no sun, no rain
5. addicted to love - robert palmer
Your lights are on, but you're not home
Your will is not your own
You're heart sweats and teeth grind
Another kiss and you'll be mine
6. cult of dionysus - the orion experience
Or start a secret society for the wild and free
Our ideology is "You can do what you want
Too much is never enough"
We are the Life, we are the light
We are the envy of the Gods above
7. hitting on all sevens - lyndon smith
Make of me a subject caste
Pressed and kept beneath thy glass
Every heart thy sent in heaven
Always hitting on all sevens
One by one as ordered
Flank to flank and facing forward
Hanging by the word
In chapter, verse and sentence heard
8. touch tone telephone - lemon demon
Don't hang up yet, I'm not done
I'm an expert, I'm the one
The one who was right all along
Better to be laughed at than wrong
I'm an expert in my field
UFOlogy, yes, it's all real
Ancient aliens, it's all true
I'm an expert just like you
9. sundial - lemon demon
Don't mind me, I've just got some problems to work out
I'm only passing through or maybe just right out
Somehow something set my sundial backwards tilted and upside-down
Now the shadow hand is pointing time right out of town
I don't remember what it is that I just said to you
I've got Anubis on my back and something in my shoe
10. mother’s talk - tears for fears
It's not that you're not good enough
It's just that we can make you better
Given that you pay the price
We can keep you young and tender
Following in the footsteps of a funeral pyre
You were paid not to listen now your house is on fire
11. light up the night - the protomen
There is a city that this darkness can't hide.
There are the embers of a fire that's gone out,
But I can still feel the heat on my skin.
This mess we're in, well you and I,
Maybe you and I,
We can light up the night.
12. pure morning - placebo
A friend in need's a friend indeed,
A friend who'll tease is better,
Our thoughts compressed,
Which makes us blessed,
And makes for stormy weather,
13. aspiring fires - mother mother
Baby, so you think you know crazy
I think you know what you know,
But what you know you don't know for sure
A little advice for aspiring fires
You'll get put out if you don't get a little wild
Try again, try again, it ain't right
You don't got the due diligence to lose your mind
You're not getting it right
14. oh ana - mother mother
I'll play god
I'll play god
I'll play god
I'll play god today
Ante up and play that god a poker game
Walk away with all our little God's spare change
Playing this god it can't be good for—
Ana's safety, Ana hear me !
15. this devil’s workday - modest mouse
So I ate the wedding cake
'til the whole damn thing was gone.
And I'm gonna drown the ocean.
Now ain't none o' that so wrong?
I could buy myself a reason.
I could sell myself a job.
I could hang myself on treason.
Oh I am my own damn god.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
16. kiss me son of god - they might be giants
I look like Jesus, so they say
But Mr. Jesus is very far away
Now you're the only one here who can tell me if it's true
That you love me and I love me
And a world screams, "Kiss me, Son of God"
Yes a world screams, "Kiss me, Son of God"
17. personal jesus - depeche mode
Take second best
Put me to the test
Things on your chest
You need to confess
I will deliver
You know I'm a forgiver
18. charlie’s inferno - that handsome devil
Catch you later, I'm off to see the man upstairs
They all look like ants from here
Stars and crystal chandeliers
Excuse me, sir!
There must be someone you've confused me for
If I could see someone who knew me or someone in uniform
I go to church on sunday, truly, usually more!
Screaming at the angels while they pushed him through the door!
19. old 45s - chromeo
Don't wanna settle
Or didn't you get the memo
You only get a date if you're walking in stilettos
This is enough to drive you mad
If you think romance is dead and gone
Find an old jukebox full of 45's
Pop a nickel in it and it all comes back
20. down at the midnight rectory - ted neeley
Down, down, down at the midnight rectory!
With jiggle juice frisking under the marquee!
The peacocks are strutting behind velvet ropes,
Sipping away on their heavenly dope.
Gimme two alleluia's and an amen!
21. elevate - dj khalil
Can't stop me, can't break me (can't break)
What don't kill me, gon' make me (gon' make)
Shoot for the stars, no safety (no safety)
And now I see clear in HD
'Cause I win, over and over again
Battlin' evil, I'm hopin' to win
Fightin' my demons, I'm nice for a reason
Enticed with the bleedin', I'm showin' my sins
22. come along - cosmo sheldrake
We'll dance and sing 'til sundown
And feast with abandon
We'll sleep when the morning comes
And we'll rise by the sound of the birdsongs
We'll be here when the world slows down
And the sunbeams fade away
Keeping time by a pendulum
As the fabric starts to fray
23. just one yesterday - fall out boy
I thought of angels
Choking on their halos
Get them drunk on rose water
See how dirty I can get them
Pulling out their fragile teeth
And clip their tiny wings
If heaven's grief brings hell's rain
Then I'd trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday
24. church - fall out boy
And if death is the last appointment
Then we're all just sitting in the waiting room
I am just a human trying to avoid my certain doom
If you were church, yeah
I'd get on my knees
Confess my love, I'd know where to be
My sanctuary, you're holy to me
25. beast dance - kurage p
Cast aside your humanity, before you have to grovel on the ground,
being at the bottom of society.
You want to be loved?
In that case, come on.
”Roar roar roar roar roar roar”
Inside the cage, ‘kay?
26. black and white - MASA
Pour the gospel echoing through the world into your glass.
Black&White!
Practice your faith through shots and prayers.
Open the bottle.
Black&White!
27. sister’s mercy - hitoshizuku-p
Jesus!! Pray and pray
Believer, if you demand for salvation
Oh Yeah!! Then pay up more and more for this Bright Red, now!
Cheers!! Pour and pour
When you’ve filled your stomach with this bright Red,
Aa! All your wishes will come true
28. inferno pt. 2 - the buttress
The depth of my breadth is unmet
I'm becoming unraveled on the road less traveled
I know Jesus wept
But I abhor the Lord
Fell on my sword
Forever slept
29. let’s just live - casey lee williams
Let's just live
Just one day
Let's forget about our problems
Let's fall in love with life
And just be free
The sun will never fade
The night won't steal our day
Let's dance and laugh and love
And let's just live
30. ignite - casey lee williams
Fool, you shouldn't stare into these eyes of fire
You're goin' to regret this little fight
You don't wanna mess with me, I'm something higher
You'll watch yourself suffer
You'll watch me ignite
31. god’s gonna cut you down - johnny cash
Well you may throw your rock and hide your hand
Workin' in the dark against your fellow man
But as sure as God made black and white
What's down in the dark will be brought to the light
32. royals - lorde
Let me be your ruler (Ruler)
You can call me queen bee
And baby, I'll rule (I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule)
Let me live that fantasy
33. you should see me in a crown - billie eilish
Count my cards, watch them fall
Blood on a marble wall
I'm gonna run this nothing town
Watch me make 'em bow
One by one by, one
One by one by
You should see me in a crown
34. rev 22:20 - puscifer
Pray til I go blind
(Pray) Pray cause no one ever survives
Prayin' to stay in her arms just to die longer
Satyrs and saints, devils and heathens and lies
35. this must be the place - talking heads
Home, is where I want to be
But I guess I'm already there
I come home, she lifted up her wings
I guess that this must be the place
I'm just an animal looking for a home and
Share the same space for a minute or two
And you love me till my heart stops
Love me till I'm dead
36. razzle dazzle - richard gere
Give 'em the old razzle dazzle
Razzle Dazzle 'em
Give 'em an act with lots of flash in it
And the reaction will be passionate
Give 'em the old hocus pocus
Bead and feather 'em
How can they see with sequins in their eyes?
37. you’ll be back - jonathan groff
You say our love is draining and you can't go on
You'll be the one complaining when I am gone
And no, don't change the subject
'Cause you're my favorite subject
My sweet, submissive subject
My loyal, royal subject
Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever
38. no light, no light - florence and the machine
No light, no light in your bright blue eyes
I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day
You can't choose what stays and what fades away
'Cause it's so easy,
To say it to a crowd
But it's so hard, my love,
To say it to you out loud
39. shiny happy people - r.e.m
Meet me in the crowd, people, people
Throw your love around, love me, love me
Take it into town, happy, happy
Put it in the ground where the flowers grow
Gold and silver shine
Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people laughing
40. a good song never dies - saint motel
There was a moment, a hole opened in the sky
A chance to join that pantheon
For all the times they never heard your battle cry
Now be an angel, sing along
'Cause a good song never dies
It just reminds you of where you were
The first time it made you cry
The first time you felt alive
41. king of the clouds - panic at the disco
Some only live to die, I'm alive to fly higher
Than angels in outfields inside of my mind
I'm ascendin' these ladders, I'm climbin', say goodbye
This old world, this old world
I don't trust anything
Or anyone, below the sun
I don't feel anything
At all
42. battle for the sun - placebo
I, I, I will battle for the sun, sun, sun, sun
And I, I, I, I am the bones you couldn't break
Break, break, break, break, break, break, break
43. walk like an egyptian - the bangles
All the school kids so sick of books
They like the punk and the metal band
When the buzzer rings (oh whey oh)
They're walking like an Egyptian
All the school kids so sick of books
They like the punk and the metal band
When the buzzer rings (oh whey oh)
They're walking like an Egyptian
44. credens justitiam - yuriko kaida and eri itoh
Free, they are
With no malice they sing quietly
And they told me
that my song was louder/lighter
Their song
Releases the day of all malice
I want to be like them
And my mind
(their minds are)
Free
45. 99.9 - mob choir
The protagonist of this stage is me
Cryin' my life, cryin' my psyche
Cryin' my heart in such commonplaces
Is this my ideal? Is this my mind?
Ahh, I’m looking for the answer !
46. cruel angels thesis - yoko takahasi
But someday you will notice
On those shoulders of yours
There are strong wings
To guide you to the far future.
If there is any meaning
In the fate that pulled us together,
Then I am, yes, the Bible
That teaches you of freedom.
A cruel angel's thesis
And then sorrow comes forth
47. peace and love on the planet earth - zach callison
I guess we're already here
I guess we already know
We've all got something to fear
We've all got nowhere to go
I think you're all insane!
But I guess I am too
Is there anything that's worth more?
Is there anything that's worth more?
Is there anything that's worth more
Than peace and love on the planet Earth?
48. now we can see - the thermals
We were born in the desert
We were reared in a cave
We conquered in the sun
but we lived in the shade
We were born on an island
we grew out of the sand
Never saw another creature
never knew another man
49. love today - mika
I said
Everybody's gonna love today
Gonna love today, gonna love today
I said
Everybody's gonna love today
Gonna love today
Anyway you want to, anyway you've got to
Love, love me, love, love me, love, love
50. where is my mind? - the pixies
With your feet on the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
If there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself ..
Where is my mind?
Where is my mind?

1. Definitely more milk because you can always dunk more cereal there if you're still hungry and feel a little bit less bad for eating too much.
16. Spaghetti Bolognese! In fact, I would love some right about now!
25. I am an extremely boring person, so I have no answer :(
32. We were about to head to sleep (one of us already asleep) when the largest fucking grasshopper I have ever seem somehow made it inside, into an apartment on the seventh story, and started wreacking havoc. My friend screamed so loud that the sleeping friend woke up and tried to make her lizard pet (I can't remember what it is called) eat it. The lizard refused, and thank god because it would have probably choked. Cue four friends in various states of dunkenness and sleepiness trying to fish the bloody insect from behind a piece of furniture.
49. Not at all, I am an avid dirty youtube downloader. I buy CDs only as gifts but most of the time I can't find what I am looking for where I live (and international shipping is crazy expensive).
51. I am thinking of my bf, and the song that fits him is Touch Tone Telephone by Lemon Demon. Why? No clue! But listen to it if you don't know it it's a bop
59. Probably the Kitsune spirits, and yokai in general, although I love mythology as a whole.
68. (so close) Pretty underwhelming. It's usually around 0°C with no snow, which is saddening because when I was little we almost always had white Christmas (this expression is used in English right?)
71. You can't make me choose one, not with the stash of teas and herbs and blends I possess. I am going to take an easy way out and say black because it's not as finicky as green tea with the correct water temperature and such and so, but touareg... this is hard!
88. I hope I am understanding the question correctly, but I like romanticism and expressionism.
92. Depends on what kind of pasta dish we're talking about but usually drown and then some.
100. Can I not press anything? I am quite content where I am now, believe it or not. I do not want to relive past because I am a staunch believer that the choices I made determined the person I am, and only thinking of all the writing I would lose and the exams I would have to take again (I graduated from high school for crying out loud) is making me uneasy. On the other hand, I am in a fresh new relationship (take two, but still) and I would hate to miss all that.
If I was forced to choose I would go into the future because I would lose a lot of work but you'd have to force me really hard to do it.

I’ve Been Working on a Unified Theory (Gravity Falls One Shot)
Summary: Stan stumbles across the evidence Dipper has been collecting throughout his search for the Author, and he isn’t pleased.
Word Count: ~1500
Warnings: brief mentions of death
Title is from Touch-Tone Telephone by Lemon Demon! An optional subtitle could be the next line, “If I make it through tonight, everybody's gonna hear me out.”
“Ugh, my stomach’s all rumbly and grumbly inside,” Mabel groaned as she flopped down in the grass in front of the Mystery Shack. “Do you think Grunkle Stan will let us order pizza?”
Her words went in one of Dipper’s ears and out the other as he buried his nose in the journal, squinting as he tried to make out the text in the one intact corner of a mostly torn-out page…
My assistant took…
to me beaming an…
his anxiety. H…
destroy bad…
“Mabel, we’ve got to get inside!” he gasped. “I have a magnifying glass in my room, I might be able to make out a couple more letters…”
Mabel sat straight up. “There’s a break in the case?”
“There sure is!” Dipper took off running for the Shack, stomach churning with the thrill of a new discovery. “I can’t believe I never noticed this…”
He threw open the door and barreled straight into Stan, who grunted with surprise as Dipper’s head struck him in the stomach. He recovered quickly, looking from Dipper, to Mabel, and then to the journal in Dipper’s hands, all while wearing a disapproving glare.
“There you two are. I’ve been meaning to have a chat with ya, you see?”
“Sorry, Grunkle Stan,” Dipper told him as he caught his breath, “but there’s something I really need to investigate as soon as I can! We can talk after —”
He started to head towards the stairs, but lighting fast, Stan blocked his way with reflexes that were just plain unfair for a man in his sixties to still have. He crossed his arms as his scowl intensified, and nodded in the direction of the Shack’s public wing.
“I want to see you in my office now — both of you, but especially Dipper.”
Mabel shot a Dipper a confused look, which he read loud and clear as: Do you know what we did?
He shrugged and shook his head. I’m as lost as you are.
Stan coughed, and tapped a non-existent watch on his wrist. “I said now, didn’t I? Not an hour from now?”
He stormed past the twins and began to walk towards his office, and Dipper supposed they had no choice but to follow him.
When they reached the office, Stan motioned for them to sit down, and from behind his desk pulled out a large, flat object, covered in newspaper articles and yellow string held in place by thumbtacks. At the top, two pieces of cardboard spelled out a titular question:
WHO IS THE AUTHOR?
“What the — hey, that’s mine! What were you doing in our room?”
“I was going,” Stan told him, “to fix the window you two keep hitting golf balls through, because — and I dunno if this is news to you or not — this is, after all, my house. But here I find this thing, straight out of an awful alien movie —”
“What’s the problem with it? Some of us are visual thinkers, okay? All I want is to investigate a few —”
“Dipper, what’s the one thing you promised me you’d stop doing this summer?”
Dipper sighed. “Go looking for trouble with the Journal.”
“This investigating —” Stan waved a hand at the board. “Is what I call looking for trouble.”
“Look, Grunkle Stan,” Dipper began, “I’m sorry about that promise, but… can’t you just trust me — trust both of us a little more? We’re going to be teenagers in barely a month, and we know how to look out for each other!”
Mabel nodded her agreement, and Dipper went on: “I know the Journal has some dangerous stuff in it, but even though it gets us into… dangerous situations sometimes, it gets us out of them, too!”
“Yeah, like with the zombies!” Mabel chimed in. “Sure, it kinda caused that problem, but also it fixed it!”
“Please, Grunkle Stan,” Dipper begged. “I’ll stop looking for monsters and artifacts and all the really dangerous stuff, but you’ve got to let us keep looking for the Author. We’re getting so close, and the Journal will keep us safe, I promise —”
“Did it keep the guy who wrote it safe?”
A hush fell over the room, like no one had quite been ready for what Stan had just blurted out — Stan himself included.
“What do you mean?” Mabel finally asked.
“I did skim through the thing, you know.” Stan crossed his arms and fixed his gaze below Dipper’s eyes, on the golden hand emblem splayed across the journal’s cover.
“I saw how it started, with a smart — maybe kinda eccentric, but a smart, mostly rational guy doing serious, smart-guy research. Drawing pictures of the new monsters he found, sleuthing out a mystery or two. Not too different from what you’re doing right now, really.”
He took a deep breath, still not meeting Dipper’s eyes.
“And I saw how the thing ended, too — rambling about secret codes and being watched and saving the world or losing his life in the process. Either he went off the deep end, or there really was someone after him… but either way, what happened wasn’t good, and now? Now, your Author’s gone.”
“He can’t be gone for good,” Dipper replied automatically. “He’s got to still be out there, and I’m going to find him —”
Stan raised a hand in the air, palm facing Dipper. “Stop. Just — stop.”
He was silent for a moment, before letting out a long, slow sign. “Dipper, I’m sorry. I know I sound like I’m mad at you — and I am, but that’s because I can’t bear to imagine you getting hurt. I don’t want whatever happened to — to this ‘Author’ happening to you.”
He turned towards the bulletin board and unpinned the paper at the center — the one showing the dark silhouette with the question mark, its head circled in bright blue ink for emphasis.
“This man set off just like you, trying to solve all the mysteries of this messed up town. And just like you, he was too curious to mind his own business — maybe he read too many detective stories as a kid, too. But at the end of the day —”
Stan slapped the silhouette down on his desk.
“He just ended up as another mystery himself. Just a case to be cracked, just a thumbtack on a bulletin board of conspiracies. Not a real person with a name, not a person with a family —”
Stan froze mid-rant, and then slowly lowered his arms to his sides.
“I just — what I’m trying to say is — Dipper, Mabel, I don’t want you kids to become mysteries this summer like the Author did. I want you to become teenagers. I just want you to not go missing, to not wind up dead, before you reach your birthday and head home — and if I’m being completely honest, some days? Like when the zombies attacked? I’ve been real scared that you weren’t gonna make it. That the unknown fate of Dipper and Mabel Pines was just gonna be a mystery that well-meaning nerds obsess over a couple decades down the line. And I — I dunno what I’d do with myself if I let that happen to you two.”
He finally met Dipper’s eyes. “I know you’re too stubborn to really let go of that journal and give up on finding the Author,” he said. “Trust me, I know. But can you at least try and learn from his mistakes?”
“I’ll be as careful as I can next time,” Dipper answered.
“I hope you mean it,” Stan told him, already having turned his back on his way out the door.
Dipper did mean it — mostly.

Stan was especially cautious on his way to the basement that night, triple-checking that the kids were asleep and that the gift shop was empty before he punched the code into the vending machine as should have been routine. He winced at the six-fingered handprints on the dusty walls of the passageway — how they’d survived thirty years undisturbed, he wasn’t sure — and contemplated just wiping them away once and for all, despite knowing he could never seriously bring himself to do it.
He can’t be gone for good. He’s got to still be out there, and I’m going to find him —
He sat down at his desk and retrieved the first two journals from his bookshelf — the ones that he’d checked with a blacklight a few nights ago, only to find warnings of cataclysmic destruction and a desperate plea to never to activate the portal again.
I know you’re too stubborn to really let go of that journal and give up on finding the Author.
The portal’s hum faint yet ominous like the distant roar of an impending storm, he leaned back in his chair and rubbed his eyes.
“Stanley, you goddamn hypocrite.”

End notes:
When I listen to Touch-Tone Telephone, I tend to imagine the first “I’ve been working on a unified theory/If I make it through tonight everybody's gonna hear me out” as being from Ford’s POV while working on the Grand Unified Theory of Weirdness, and the second one as being sung by Dipper as he investigates Gravity Falls and tries to figure out what happened to the Author, so it was really only a matter of time until I used it as a fic title. Also, “I try and I try and I try to make you listen to me” always makes me think of Dipper and Stan’s conflicts over the supernatural and Dipper’s “looking for trouble,” which takes center stage in this fic.
Anyways, thanks for reading! Reblogs/feedback are appreciated as always!
