months before you left, i tried to understand you. and the only way i could do that was to read all the books you read and listen to all the songs you’ve ever loved. i knew they were going to tell me more about you than you ever did. the thing is that i tried. i really tried… but i couldn’t. it wasn’t boring. no, not at all. it was just long. because you read too much. because you loved too much. so i gave up…

but then… but then you left. and it took me weeks before realizing you weren’t coming back. because you didn’t say goodbye. in fact, you didn’t say anything. you left without a word. i kinda feel like it would have been better if you were just dead, maybe it would have been easier to forget, to forgive.

i wanted to understand why you left. was it because of me ? probably. but not only. i knew it. so i read. so i listened. i did everything i could do. and i did it. i read your books until the words were printed on my skin. i listened to all your song until the notes were graced in my mind. i fell in love with you again. and I started to slowly draw that lil guy living rent feee in your head.

and now that I think of it, i already knew all your songs and all your books before i met you… but they were so random. 1 out of trillions. why would i have paid attention to them ? you just had to say that they were your favorites to make me love them.
