I love how neferiously hugh laurie delivered his lines in that 5x1 scene where house is blackmailing wilson. because the dialogue could’ve been conveyed in a manner that was obviously facetious and unserious (like the way RSL was playing the scene: “You’d jeopardise a patient—? 😒🙄) but he literally chose to go “If it keeps you here😈👹” in the most deadass, diabolical tone. so the result is that we have house sounding like a genuine psychopath as he threatens to let a woman die and then wilson proving he’s an even BIGGER one by responding with, like, mild exasperation at best. 10/10 dynamic no notes

i adore how mxtx sorta flipped the idea on the whole top/bottom thing with svsss, and just BL relationships in general.

making bingqiu very open to switching, not making the "bottom" super feminine and actually leaning more to the handsome side compared to the "top", how luo binghe is manipulative sensitive and cries easily, etc. one of the main themes in svsss is literally about sexuality (and possibly even about gender roles).

as a queer asian man myself, i absolutely despise the "yaoi archetype" and it was one of the reasons why i avoided consuming BL media. hell, years ago when i first saw heavens official blessing, i mentally groaned and went, "ugh, let me guess, the bottom is super feminine and innocent, while the top is masculine and experienced." of course, that's not the case now, but it's disappointing how that thought was there purely because of the god awful way fetish-y media portrays homosexual people and couples. because, believe it or not, we are not assigned male/female typical gender roles just because one likes to top/bottom (and even then, it's not even like that! some people have preferences, sure, but it's not so strictly "i'm top/bottom")

so, while i absolutely LOVE the english novel designs (especially luo binghe's cute curly hair, gongyi xiao, etc, and personally believe a lot of the takes from the western artist on the designs are an improvement), i am greatly saddened by people subconsciously assigning shen qingqiu as someone more delicate and feminine and luo binghe as someone super masculine and muscly. like, if you're going to have luo binghe depicted as the western design (i believe this stems from binghe being applied to more western ideals for men, and, admittedly, i actually really love his design), at least don't make shen qingqiu feminine and delicate? don't have his appearance play into the stupid yaoi thing?

i get that people have different takes on svsss, especially how the western version depicts it. but, people just... seem to very over exaggerate the top/bottom roles when it comes to bingqiu (again, these two are, canonically, VERY open to switching).

it's weird, it's uncomfortable, and it comes across as, "so, who wears the pants in the relationship?"

so, can we please have more canonically handsome shen qingqiu? canonically beautiful and pretty boy luo binghe (they literallly state that binghe looks EXACTLY like his mom, su xiyan! while a more handsome woman, is still very beautiful!! plus it is stated several times that binghe is slim, and that shang qinghua made him that way!) or at the very least, a BL couple who actually look like normal people (ok thats a little hard considering binghe is literally supposed to be perfect) and not just a stupid fetishized version of themselves.

and no, i'm not saying that queer men shouldn't be feminine or men who are feminine shouldn't be in a relationship with guys who are masculine, etc.

TLDR: please stop twinkifying shen qingqiu and going against what mxtx defied for us queer men (the stupid yaoi roles). and for the love of whoever you believe in, do NOT think that i hate the english design or people's personal interpretation of characters, i just hate the subconscious assigning of gender roles to bingqiu and how media portrays and fetishizes LGBTQ+ relationships in general.

edit: also i love teardrew's (check them out on twitter!) interpretation of shang qinghua. while i do really like the the eng novel design's tiny scared hamster vibes, teardrew's version just radiates "up to no good, paranoid but suspicious looking bitch" rat man and i love it so so so much. i'm not gonna repost their art bc i don't know how they feel about that but perhaps you can search up "svsss designs" on here, you'll see it pop up eventually lol.

obsessed with how haunted every inch of orv feels, how its entire narrative, every sentence, every inch of dialogue is haunted by kim dokja

because like when you take a step back and look at it, orv never had kim dokja in it at all

the entirety of orv is created and written by all of kimcom, except kim dokja to find and save kim dokja

they had to take their memories of him, the constellation's memories, (probably past live streams let's be honest) They had to use what they knew and fill in the blanks whatever fit best

and kim dokja was definitely there. their memories of him weren't wrong, I'm not saying orv is a lie, but no matter how accurate their interpretation of kim dokja was, he still was never there, in the story, he never helped them write it, he was gone, and this book is their gravestone of him

This time, if he's able to come back, all he'll need to do is knock on the coffin that they've laid next to it, that they don't have the courage-- and probably never will-- to bury

and when you re-read orv with that fact in your head, it kinda fucks you up?

you're in his head, but you're separated by more than just a single wall this time, The fourth wall that comes with all books is almost enhanced by barrier after barrier (kim dokja's own fourth wall, his unreliable narration etc. etc.)

and kim dokja was never really there-- not yet at least, and you're left with the ghost of him, haunting every interaction, every unlucky smile, every single happy moment, and you can feel everyone's pain bleeding through the paper, begging you to read this and love him and love yourself

kimcom is haunted by kim dokja, the book itself is haunted by Kim Dokja, even the reader, after they finish, might be haunted by him

and I just want to make it clear I'm not saying all of the things in the book are false! they are kim dokja, just 99% of him

the other 1% is what the fragment of him determines in their head

but you get my point, that it's that single one percent that kimcom can never achieve on their own that fuels the book, that single one percent that haunts them, like a carrot on a stick they'll never reach

Renee relayed all the information Vincent told her and he emphasised using the hospital wifi. They figured his phone was hacked this way and someone was spying on him, preventing him from making calls or messages. With the cyber security knowledge of Captain Vazquez, they tracked the IP address of the device used to intercept Vincent's phone. And the location was Strangerville.

Now Renee had all sorts of thoughts in her head. Despite it being late at night, she found the whole process fascinating. And all the links to Strangerville. The police may be the only way to uncover more about the place and find out what the hell is going on there. Perhaps she should switch from her history course to criminology and become a detective. Yes, she will do that. Renee doesn't like history as much as she did anyway and she liked the idea of solving crimes.

When Roy gets mad at the team for not speaking up to defend his ass after getting yelled at by Rebecca, Isaac mumbles “He’s right, we’re cowards” and that line is just taken as a joke, especially viewed just in the context of that scene.

but in the context of that whole episode, Isaac realized that he was acting cowardly for not sticking up for a friend when he fully had the ability to. So when the “fan” said the slur, Isaac didn’t take the cowardly approach, instead he stood up for his teammate and best friend. 

It may not have been the best choice to hop up in the stands, but he learned from his mistake with not defending Roy, as playful as the scene was, and made sure to support his best friend when it was more important than Roy’s hairy ass.

Isaac may not be the best with words, but he wanted to show Colin that he supported him despite being angry at him.

Living in a world like Teyvat inherently makes one selfish. For Arlecchino, her life has developed and progressed up to this point only by sheer selfishness. Survival is only gained through selfishness, a fact that she had to pick up quickly when she was first placed in the House of the Hearth. There, the very process of rising up to the ranks required stomping over others for more favor from the former Father of the orphanage. Children brutally betrayed their own sisters and brothers for just the most marginal amount of praise and grace from the Matron. Arlecchino knows now, that even after the murder and deaths of many, she could not entirely blame them. She cannot admonish inhibiting selfishness either, it is simply the way that is life. Because she knows that very selfishness runs through her veins as well.

Arlecchino discarded the notion of romance or friendship in her future when she was a child. Neither of the two can occur, not when the only person her world can afford to revolve around is herself. Trusting others was the demise of many. It was a foolish and naive dream that the youth of the House of the Heart had, one that she intended to remove it from the depths of her mind.

That was until she opened her eyes, and became sick of what the House of the Hearth had become: simply a machine to produce children that would surely die of their own aimless loyalty to their archon. When she eliminated the Matron and sat upon her chair to take her place as the Father, she intended to get rid of this impractical system. There was no need for this continuous cycle of death anymore, and so with that, she enrooted in each child that selfishness was misplaced here and that all the children here were one another's family.

Regardless of the change to the House of the Hearth, it doesn't change Arlecchino's nature. She knows that, in theory, forming friendships and relationships is ultimately beneficial for the children, but the belief cannot dismantle the injected value inside of her. She had always been seeking for her own benefit, even her current position is in that manner. Serving as the Tsaritsa's loyal dog has provided her with many advantages that she will continue to take, so long as the Tsaritsa proves to be beneficial.

Even with you, she is selfish. She is a taker--she reaps as much as she can from another with as little to give from herself as possible. And that is what she does with you: she takes from you whatever you're willing to give. Reciprocating is a difficult task for her and it is here that she doubts her relationship with you. Still, you are persistent and unfaltering, the bits and pieces that she does share you drink in greedily, whether that be her touch or the small acts of service she does.

She kisses you because your taste is sweet. She touches you because you are soft and warm in contrast to her harsh and cold exterior. She enjoys your presence because you are a distraction from the depraved and monochrome life she leads.

She does not know how she fell in love with you. Not because there are no traits of you that aren't loveable but you are opposite to her. She knows that love is selflessness. Maybe it is because you are the embodiment of selflessness that she starts learning how to be better for you. A relationship is more or less a balance of taking and giving, and when you give her so much, she wonders if she were to do the same, would it garner the rewards that you seem to get?

When you give her your tears, and she cups your face and wipes them away from your beautiful eyes, would you do the same for her? When you hold her so tenderly in your arms, she wonders how is that you enjoy her presence outside of just her body warmth. When you bring her a homecooked dish or a purchased pastry with that radiant smile on her face, she suppresses the inquiry on how spending the effort and time on her can possibly make you this pleased with yourself.

She does ask you one day. Why you're so adamant about doing these things for her? You answer that it's because you get to see the small quirk of her lips and the soft flare of her red crosses. She doesn't understand how her expression could make you self-fulfilled. How can you love someone so selfish?

The response that comes from you baffles her.

If she was so selfish then she wouldn't have considered it in the first place, would she? The kisses that she gives is enough to make your heart race. An embrace from her is like an embrace from heaven, and every night within her arms feels as ethereal as the night prior's. Her firm and crass reminders to treat yourself more gently are comforting and heartwarming. Her protectiveness over you tells you that you are loved, worthy of her protection and consideration despite the numerous children and duties she has to attend to. When she pauses her work, without any care to how much or how little she has left incomplete, to greet you properly every time you come home, you're sure that you will always go back home to her. And when she whispers 'I love you' when she thinks you're asleep, you know that those are genuine.

She gives you plenty, you reassure her with your usual grin.
