Join me as I experience my first ever Red Carpet event at Guy Richie’s Netflix World Premiere of the Gentleman TV series at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane. I was lucky enough to see the cast on the red carpet, the premiere of the first episode and a Q&A session after the screening with all the cast alongside the series director.
The series premiered on Netflix on the 7th March and in respect to the cast and crew this video is being released the day after, so hopefully no spoilers.
The Gentlemen is a television series created by Guy Ritchie. It is a spin-off of Ritchie's 2019 film of the same name. The series stars Theo James and consists of eight episodes.
Eddie Halstead has unexpectedly inherited an estate of 15,000 acres and the title of Duke of Halstead from his recently deceased father, but he learns that the land has become part of a weed-growing empire run by Bobby Glass. Now, he must navigate a world of eclectic and dangerous characters with nefarious agendas, while also trying to protect his home and stay alive.
CAST
Theo James as Eddie Halstead, the new Duke of Halstead.
Kaya Scodelario as Susie Glass
Daniel Ings as Freddy Halstead, Eddie's older brother.
Joely Richardson as Lady Sabrina Halstead, Eddie and Freddy's mother.
Giancarlo Esposito as Stanley Johnston, a wine aristocrat who is trying to buy the Halstead Manor.
Peter Serafinowicz as Tommy Dixon, a member of the Scouse crime family.
Pearce Quigley as John “the Gospel” Dixon, Tommy's brother and the head of the Scouse crime family.
Vinnie Jones as Geoff Seacombe, the groundskeeper of the Halstead Manor
Chanel Cresswell as Tammy
Max Beesley as Henry Collins
Harry Goodwins as Jack
Ruby Sear as Gabrielle
Ray Winstone as Bobby Glass
Dar Salim as Felix, a “cleaner”
Guy Ritchie entered development of a television series for him to write and direct inspired by his film The Gentlemen with Moonage Pictures and Miramax Television in October 2020. Ritchie was also executive producing alongside the producers of the original film. Matthew Read helped Richie write the pilot script, also coming on board to executive produce at Moonage with Will Gould, and Netflix ultimately ordered the series. The cast; including Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Giancarlo Esposito, Peter Serafinowicz, and Vinnie Jones; was announced the week before filming was set to begin, and Alexis Rodney was added in the first week of filming. In June 2023, Max Beesley was added to the cast, and Hugh Warren was revealed as the series producer. Chanel Cresswell joined the cast in a recurring role during production in December. Ray Winstone was revealed to be part of the cast through a teaser in January 2024.
Production took place in London and Badminton House running from November 2022 through June 2023. Filming took place at Longcross Studios and West London Film Studios with additional on-location shooting throughout the town, including at the Princess Victoria pub and the Tate Modern as well as areas of Hackney and Islington.

The Mosley Review: Abigail
Tumblr media
Oh what a time the horror genre is having this early into the year! We just had an awesome take on demonic possession and now, the team behind the great current Scream sequels and the outstanding Ready or Not, deliver yet another insanely fun horror film. I can't think of the last time we had a good vampire film that was straight forward and not about the depression of living forever or some boring slog of a teen romance. This film from the beginning throws you right into the story and sets up the players pretty quickly while leaving enough mystery to keep you on the edge of your seat. Time management and speed are always the key elements when it comes to the horror thrillers and this film excels at that. Not only do the thrills keep coming, but the violence on display is actually story driven and inventive at times. The cast alone is what makes or breaks these type of films and they truly make this film because you care about each one in a unique way.
Tumblr media
Alisha Weir was outstanding and intense as Abigail. There are so many layers to her performance that many would not be able to achieve at her at age. There is a level of regalness, experience and that deep seated joy in the hunt for her food. What I loved is that she actually retained her humanity in many moments and was honest. Melissa Barrera was awesome as Joey and I loved the compassion in her voice and her steadfast strength in the film. She may be one of the smartest and untrusting people in the room, but she was also the most balanced. The chemistry between her and Abigail was the heart of the film and was fascinating to see their plot unfold. Dan Stevens was great and unflinching as Frank. I loved that he was the most aggressive and sometimes cunning of the group with his more controlling nature. Kathryn Newton is always a joy to see on screen and as Sammy, she was the classic young and spunky character that enjoyed the thrill of the heist. Kevin Durand is one of those actors that you love to see and he can capture your heart with his charm. As Peter, he may have been the big brute of the group, but he had a heart of gold and it shines in his chemistry with Sammy. William Catlett was cool and active as Rickles. He had the right ideas about the situation they were in, but acted a little too late. He was the strong silent type, but I think him and Joey would've made a great team. The late Angus Cloud was good as Dean and even though I sometimes had a hard time understanding him with the mumbling of his lines, he still had charm and was hilarious in some great scenes. Giancarlo Esposito continues to be a powerhouse on screen and as Lambert, he may not be in the film alot, but his presence is felt in the set up of the story and throughout the film.
Tumblr media
The score by Brian Tyler was excellent and nails the thrilling pace of the film and underscores the intense moments of violence. When it comes to the violence, the gore in this film was absolutely satisfying and the build up to each kill or gross out visual was well done. The sound and effects team really know how to make each bite impactful and each pop look and sound so powerful. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence truly love the horror genre and have made yet another glorious horror thriller that re-invigorates the vampire genre in such a fun way. They follow the rules they set up in the beginning and do not waver. This is definitely one of my favorite films of the year and I can't wait to watch this again. Let me know what you thought of the film or my review in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

Some notable moments from the show (an evening with Bob Odenkirk, guest hosted by David Baddiel) on Monday:
Mike was created because Bob couldn’t shoot a fourth ep due to HIMYM conflicting, he commented that it ended up making a lot more sense because “Saul would never move a body”
Said Saul’s only real “human” (Jimmy) moments in BrBa in his opinion were 1. When he tries to encourage Jesse to go talk to Andrea and Brock rather than waiting in the car, he said “there’s no incentive or benefit for Saul, he won’t make any money and it’s a risk for Jesse to be seen” (imo Jimmy more than Saul speaks to Brock and Andrea anyway) and 2. When he’s telling Walt to just quit while he’s ahead, because “Saul doesn’t care, he doesn’t care if this guy dies or if he’s family dies, why should he?”
Said the Saul hair (“combover on top, mullet in the back”) was his idea after reading the script
His agent apparently told him “please do not say no” to breaking bad and his response was “well I’m gonna” and he turned to us and continued “because that’s how I am, I’m difficult”
The first scene he shot was the Walt and Jesse in the desert scene, he said it was during a sandstorm which didn’t pick up on camera but every time they opened their mouths they were full of sand.
The desert scene with Mike took 14 “gruelling” days to shoot, out in the ABQ desert.
They had a snake wrangler on to clear any areas they were filming in (and obtain a snake if one was needed) but during the desert trek they didn’t come across a single snake in the entire 14 days and the wrangler said it was because it was too hot. For the desert snakes.
His heart attack occurred during the Lalo/mcwexler confrontation scene in the final season, and parts of it are from after his recovery months later. It’s been said a lot, but hearing Bob personally say out loud that he was “out” for 15 minutes and that his training for Nobody saved his life (which he explained how and why in detail) was Wild. I lost my dad due to heart complications, I’m really glad he was able to pull through.
David didn’t know about the heart attack, he was taken aback and stated Bob looked “damn good” and we all applauded
He essentially confirmed that Kim likes Jimmy because she’s also insane. He said it in a very roundabout way (“they’re both damaged, weird loners” and “she hides it better but she was more into it than him at times” lmao) but that was the gist.
Credits Giancarlo Esposito as perhaps the best actor he’s ever worked with and spoke about the wine bar scene for a good 5 minutes. The women behind me whispered “Gus is gay” during this.
Said the first time he met David Cross the man turned up to his home holding a basketball (at around 27 years old) asking if Bob wanted to play. He replied that he’d just made a sandwich.
He’s a huge Monty Python nerd and kept speaking about it at lengths during random intervals. Someone in the audience shouted that he was saying “Python” wrong (because he’s, ya know, American and says it with an American accent) and he attempted to say it “properly”. He could say Python, he could not say Monty. He thought Python was spelt Pythun, though.
He then did the same when David said Ree-ah instead of Ray for Rhea’s name lmao
He said “I might be slow but I’m not stupid” and briefly chanted “slow is not stupid!”
Apparently hates parody comedy (doesn’t care enough about popular culture. Relatable)
Didn’t expand on it much (because Baddiel hadn’t finished the series before literally interviewing the main actor) but said one of his favourite scenes is the breakup scene, and that he loved when Saul was thrown in the trash, saying “he deserves it”
Told Vince to “beat the shit out of this guy” (JimmySaul) in bcs
Enjoys shooting in difficult locations or circumstances (man likes to suffer for his art ig lmao)
When asked about the piss drinking scene, stated “I refused to drink my own piss, I’m fed up of the taste, so I had the whole crew mix a little of their piss into the bottle so it was a complete mystery” did not explain what was actually in the piss jugs
His wife was just offstage the whole time which was very sweet
Called the Trumps the worst family in America
Didn’t think we have Marmite in the UK. It’s literally British aksjdhekdjf
David Baddiel doesn’t know about Dr Suess. Not relevant to Bob but wth.
Bob said he’s nothing like Saul/Jimmy many times and the central reason he said so is because “Saul needs everybody to like him, Jimmy just wants the respect and admiration of his brother, and I don’t care, I just wanna make myself happy”
His favourite show is BBCs Royle Family
We could submit questions during interval and he answered a couple, one was “do you eat at Cinnabon” to which he replied “no, I had a heart attack” lmao. Baddiel was surprised Cinnabon was a real place.
We all got a free copy of his book (tho apparently he didn’t know?) with our tickets so that’s cool. Will be reading in the next 5-60 months
He got 3 people up on stage to read him questions he’d written and one woman, Claire, was absolutely amazing and actually successfully matched Bob’s stage presence and energy when reading this (hilarious) script he gave her. The others did great too but Claire is the MVP of the evening
Right near the start he said the word cunt. I was thrilled.

It’s the fact that Black Noir imagines Meerkat Stan having Giancarlo Esposito’s voice but still hears himself as his younger self bc Noir literally never had a chance to even fully grow up before losing his voice that drives home the depression for me. And him being a black sheep just shows how he’s a gentle boi at heart who doesn’t fit in, I can’t- 😢

Live action Zelda Movie
As many are well aware, Nintendo has announced a live action Legend of Zelda Movie. LIVE ACTION! Let me tell you that I am... concerned for a few reasons.
First off, you HAVE to get the lore right with Zelda.
Second, we havent heard anything of Eiji Aonuma's involvement. While Miyamoto started the series, Aonuma is the heart and soul of the Zelda team, he NEEDS to be involved with the movie.
Thirdly, and i think this is my biggest fear, the visual affects. Dear god. This is produced by the same guy who made Morbius apparently. You NEED TO NAIL the visual affects in this movie. I don't want an awful hyper realistic CG Ganon or Goron or Zora. You need to give the vfx artists all of the time they need. DO NOT FUCKING RUSH THIS.
Fourth, the cast matters. ESPECIALLY Ganondorf. Don't you fucking dare put someone like Dwayne Johnson in the Role. I have 3 pics for Ganondorf: Idris Elba, Keith David, or Giancarlo Esposito. Please don't mess this up.
I've been a fan of this series for over a decade. Half of my life i have been obsessed with this franchise. PLEASE don't mess it up.

Need your thoughts on the Mando finale! The biggest plot twist for me honestly was Mando’s first name….apparently not being Din? Other than that the lack of a Boba cameo and face reveal broke my heart.
Yeah, I’d say that was probably the biggest plot twist for me too, mostly because there uh. wasn’t much else in the way of twists 😭 I guess “Din” is more like a title? Something that designates him as a foundling? Anyways yeah definitely a surprise there!
I’ll start with what I liked: the directing. Super visually interesting finale despite the lack of narrative substance, Rick Famuyiwa is goated. The aerial battle between the mandos and the troopers was by far my favorite part.
Everything else about the episode was mid at best and flat out bad at worst in my opinion. The dialogue felt stiff and unnatural as usual. My least favorite part was that Moff Gideon got completely shafted. Total fucking waste of a character. I mean HOW do you go from season 1 Gideon to THAT. Looney tunes ass villain. Combined with the lack of stakes throughout the season there was just no shot at me taking him seriously any more. He even had beskar power armor on and I was not afraid of his corny ass at all. This is no discredit to Giancarlo Esposito’s acting btw. It’s 100% the fault of lazy writing.
I honestly don’t have much to say about the rest of the episode. It was like the narrative equivalent of pushing rope. I guess I wasn’t necessarily disappointed per se by the lack of payoff at the end, bc there wasn’t much of anything to pay off. The villain made a villain speech and then “died” villainously. The heroes said hero things and then survived heroically. Little tension beats set up throughout the season never came back to haunt us. We got a feel good moment with Mando and Groguito at the end. There was a Dave Filoni cameo. We did it. We won the Star War. All is well

Chapter Nine: Heart of Stone
vanessa's meeting with her boss goes sideways. edelgard's meeting with maria cadenzavna eve goes sideways. and maria's encounter with an old enemy—one that once nearly took everything from her—goes very, very, very sideways.
Edelgard, Heidrun, and Dorothea reached the Skytree ninety minutes ahead of their scheduled meeting with Maria, and though the mall surrounding the base of the tower was bustling with commerce, the tower itself was eerily quiet. Supposedly, or so Edelgard had heard, people lined up to get into the tower as early as dawn, but the sign on the doors announcing that the tower was reserved until half past noon for a private function had apparently done well to deter them today. Heidrun eyed the sign with a skeptical glower. “To think Maria had such strings to pull,” she noted. “Do you smell a trap, Heidrun?” Edelgard asked her, drawing her heavy cape tighter around her shoulders. This was short notice to successfully close a public attraction off to the public. “We ought to be prepared for anything,” she said. “When I’d heard how difficult the tower was to enter, I assumed Maria would be meeting us in the surrounding mall. But,” she added, craning her neck and looking up… and up… and up, “now that I see this place for myself, I can see why the tower itself would be more, er… advantageous for her.” She fumbled anxiously with her collar, her pale cheeks somehow even paler. She was close to taking on a complexion not seen outside the ranks of Those Who Slither in the Dark. “Aoi says it’s the tallest freestanding structure in the entire country,” Dorothea mused. “Yes, Dorothea, I know.” “She says there’s a glass floor 340 meters up, so you can look through it straight down to the ground,” she added. “I am aware of that, Dorothea.” “And that you can see Mount Fuji from the observation deck on a day as clear as this.” “Dorothea, I think that’s enough,” Edelgard said, taking Dorothea by the shoulder. “Let’s be reasonable. Maria and her cohorts know nothing about us. They couldn’t possibly have planned anything with the knowledge of one’s… aversions. It’s not as though they’ve hidden rats strategically throughout the tower.”

Mutant Mayhem Hype!
Hi everyone!
So today is a big day: The first official teaser trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was released! The trailer will be linked in case you haven’t seen it or want to watch it again. But I wanted to just share my thoughts on the trailer and share my hopes and dreams for this movie, which will all be under the cut.
Here’s the trailer:
youtube
First and foremost: I am so excited for this movie. Everyine has been waiting so long for this first teaser trailer and I'm not gonna lie, I was sort of in disbelief when it dropped. There's a lot to cover so I'm going to break it down into sections, and the last section being what my hopes are going into this movie.
The Turtles
I know that people have talked about the designs of the turtles themselves since they were leaked a while back, but I adore how these turtles look. This is something I'll mention throughout this post, but it's very clear that Seth Rogen has taken a lot of inspiration from the original 80's cartoon when designing these characters. What's nice about it is that he's given their desings their own little twist that makes them unique and fresh i.e. Mikey's braces.
Tumblr media
I absolutely adore the voices they chose for these turtles because they are actual teenagers. Nicolas Cantu as Leo, Brady Noon as Raph, Micah Abbey as Donnie, and Shamon Brown JR as Mikey. I don't know of any instances where the turtles have been voiced by actual teenagers because as far as I'm aware they've all been voiced/played by adults. This also just feels like another breath of fresh air for the series.
Tumblr media
What they've shown of the turtles so far seems pretty promising.
Teenagers Acting Like Teenagers
One of the first things they show in the teaser trailer is the turtles goofing off the way teenagers do, and this absolutely made my heart soar. I feel like in other versions of the turtles we always see them so caught up in conflict that we never really get to see them hang out, goof around, and get to act their age. Rise was one version that I think showed this the most so I'm really glad to see more of it in this movie.
Tumblr media
This Movie Looks Stunning
I'm sure other people have made this comparison but this movie really does give off the same vibes as Into the Spiderverse. It wouldn't surprise me if Seth Rogen and the people who have been working on Mutant Mayhem took inspiration from that movie. The imagery in the movie is absolutely gorgeous, and I love that it has this "hand-drawn" style. Like Into the Spiderverse, I have a feeling they wanted to achieve this look as sort of a call back or an homage to how the turtles got their start: As a comic book.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I personally really like that the colors aren't super overwhelming. In some shots from the teaser trailer there are nice bright pops of color that really stand out and liven it up. I'm not an expert, but I think it's a really nice design choice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Secondary Characters and Cast
This cast is absolutely stacked y'all. If you haven't seen it on Twitter I'll list the rest of the cast here:
Jackie Chan as Splinter
Ayo Edibiri as April O'Neil
Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman
Seth Rogen as Bebop
John Cena as Rocksteady
Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom
Rose Byrne as Leatherhead
Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut
Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko
Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog
Post Malone as Ray Fillet
Ice Cube as Superfly
I don't think it comes as too big of a surprise that a lot of the other characters featured in this movie are going to be voiced by well known actors, but I'm honestly really pleased with this lineup. And based on this lineup I think we're going to see some really interesting takes on some of these characters like Leatherhead and Wingnut.
As a sidenote, I am so excitied to see Leatherhead in this movie. In general Leatherhead is just one of my favorite secondary characters.
The designs, like I said before, have taken a lot of inspiration from the 80's cartoon. Splinter's, what I can assume is a kimono (though I might be wrong), has the same pattern as Splinter's kimono from the 80's cartoon. April of course has her signature yellow jacket and I love that he outfit looks so casual but it's perfect for running around trying to get the best scoop. Bebop and Rocksteady's clothes are pretty much right from the 80's cartoon and I absolutely love it, and personally I think that Bebop and Rocksteady look great in this art style (honestly this applies to all of the characters).
I have a feeling, and at the same time I'm hoping, that the first official trailer or the next teaser trailer (whichever one comes first) shows off some more of these designs or even shows the designs of some of the other mutants that are going to be featured.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hopes for Mutant Mayhem
I know that this is only the first trailer of many between now and when the movie releases, but I genuinely have high hopes for this movie. This is going to be the first TMNT movie getting a theatrical release (clairfying with theatrical because the Rise of the TMNT movie was a Netlfix original) in 7 years since Out of the Shadows released back in 2016.
Even with this trailer being just under two minutes I think that they are taking these characters in the right direction and I'm genuinely excited to see their personalities shine. When Seth Rogen posted descriptions of the turtles on his (I believe) Instagram I knew that they were going to do these characters justice.
When Mutant Mayhem is released in August and I go to the theater to see it, I wanna walk out and say “That was amazing, I want to see it again”. From the developments over the months and with the release of this official teaser trailer I hope that I can say with confidence that not only did I like it, but also that it was a Ninja Turtles movie made by Ninja Turtles fans, for Ninja Turtles fans.

The Mosley Review: Star Wars: The Mandalorian (Season 3)
Tumblr media
Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this season. The past 2 seasons were so well crafted and had a direction that ultimately met its amazing conclusion. That same quality of storytelling continues here in a strong opening, but something was truly off. The idea of it moving away from Grogu being the Mcguffin and on to reuniting the mandalorian clans was a great strategy. The problem I felt was that there were some serious logic problems when it came to the traditions and some inconsistencies involving the tech. I don't mind when a story decides to pivot and go off on a exploratory missions because that's what Star Wars does best. It just felt cheapened this season because of a few cameos that took me out of the story and could've been given to someone less popular. What I did love is the amount of political and underground spy games that were being played while the titular character was running around. I loved the subtle and straight up references to Star Wars: Rebels that made my heart flutter with joy. The majority of the characters we love return and many of them actually take on the heavy lifting of the story this time.
Tumblr media
Pedro Pascal returns as the voice of the titular character Din Djarin/The Mandalorian and he delivers yet another strong and emotional performance. Din this time around was on a path of redemption and it was great to see him explore the more spiritual themes of the creed. I enjoyed the continued father son dynamic between him and Grogu. Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder's physical performances as Din were amazing as Brendan delivers that trademark swagger and Lateef knocks it out of the park with the many action sequences. Honestly both of them had an equal amount of action between them. All three of them make up this character and they deliver in spades. Din takes a bit of back seat this time around as we delve deeper into the other Mandalorians. Katee Sackoff continues to deliver a stellar performance that she started way back in The Clone Wars animated series. As Bo-Katan Kryze, she takes the lead as she comes to grips with her issues with the the creed, culture and you finally get an answer on how she lost the darksaber. I loved that she was seeking to find her place again and how she handles getting back to being the leader she was born to be. The chemistry between her and Din was a fun dynamic and I also liked the buddy cop aspect of their adventures. There is a illogical moment between them that really urked me and I wish it was handled way better when dealing with the ownership of the darksaber. Emily Swallow returns as the Armorer and I loved that she has stayed consistently mysterious about her past and devoted to the creed. The scenes between her and Bo-Katan were the best moments as you see the many comparisons between them. They are different sides of the same coin and I loved how they quickly realize that. The one and only Carl Weathers returns as the magnificent Greef Karga and I loved his jovial nature as the new High Magistrate of the planet Navarro. He may be more of the governor type that’s more friendly, but he stays as the great business man and badass that you don't want to cross. Omid Abtahi and Katy M. O' Brian return as Dr. Pershing and Elia Kane and I loved their episode. It showed how each character dealt with refugee life as a former Imperial officer and doctor. I loved that they finally got a taste of what the Empire forced many civilizations to live like. Omid did an amazing job showing the immense compassion the character has toward wanting to help the New Republic instead of condemning it. Giancarlo Esposito returns as Moff Gideon and he is even more pissed off and determined than ever. You get to the bottom of his ultimate goals and how he doesn't really care about the more expansive plans that other Imperial remnants have in store for the future. I love villains that have a goal and plan that is clean cut.
Tumblr media
Although Ludwig Goransson didn’t compose this season, the reins were left in the hands of brilliant composer Joseph Shirley and he did an excellent job creating new and haunting themes that are easily identifiable. I did miss Ludwig's touch on the series, but Joseph did a great job never the less. I loved the sound of the N64 generation inspired theme for the "Coruscant Steet Fair" that has The Resistance theme playfully mixed into it. The very ethereal and then renaissance influenced "High Magistrate" piece was awesome and I could listen to that all day. The epic and somewhat gothic tone of "The Great Forge" plays toward the last half of the season and illuminates one of the best scenes of the entire season. Like I said, the pacing of the series felt off as the focus was shifted too many times. The adventure is always the highlight of Star Wars, but the central plot and tone of the series felt second hand instead of the forefront like the past seasons. We got to the point, but it was messy. I didn't like the cameo of 2 major stars as I felt the storyline with them had no real bearing on the overarching plot. There's a Blade Runner style chase that happens in that story that introduces something that would've changed the direction of The Clone Wars if a certain droid could move like it did. Even with all the problems, it ended on a good and somewhat rushed note. Will I be here for Season 4? Absolutely. Have my expectations been lowered for the future of this series? Yeah. All the references and cameos aside, this was a season that was fun in many ways, but it was missing that polish that the first 2 seasons had. Let me know what you thought of the season or my review in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

Giancarlo Esposito Makes a Strong Candidate for Professor X or Magneto in X-Men Franchise
Tumblr media
Fans of the X-Men film series have been anticipating the return of their favorite mutants to the big screen ever since Disney completed its acquisition of Fox in 2019.
The X-Men’s future is still unknown, despite some recent teases and cameos, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about the possibilities.
A favorite among followers is the actor Giancarlo Esposito.
The versatile performer, well-known for his work on Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, The Boys, and The Mandalorian, has been mentioned as a potential choice for two of the most recognizable characters in the X-Men series: Professor Charles Xavier and his arch-enemy, Magneto.
With Professor Xavier serving as the X-Men’s leader and founder and Magneto as a potent mutant with a complicated past and motivations, both characters are essential to the X-Men universe.
Esposito’s range and acting skills would make him a viable choice for either role, and his prior work in genre television and film would make him a good fit for the X-Men universe.
Fans can find solace in the knowledge that there are many talented actors who would be more than capable of bringing these beloved characters to life, even though there is no official word on when or if the X-Men will return to the big screen.
One of them is undoubtedly Giancarlo Esposito, who has an impressive body of work and a loyal fan base.

Esposito Interview
Giancarlo Esposito expressed interest in playing Magneto and Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise during his appearance on The Tonight Show on Tuesday.
He stated that while he would be excited to play either role, he has a slight preference for the more heroic character of Professor X because he has already played so many villainous characters in his career.
Esposito also added that he would love to bring his own unique interpretation and depth to the character of Professor X, if given the opportunity.
“I want to play a good guy,” Esposito said in a sitdown interview with host Jimmy Fallon.
“Charles is smart. He’s good. But I feel as if there may be some mileage with me and Marvel. I know I love what they do. I know I love creativity. So who knows what could happen? Keep putting it out there.”
Characters in the MCU
Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy have both played the iconic role of Professor X in the X-Men franchise.
Stewart’s version of the character made an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the actor has expressed interest in reprising the role.
However, it’s worth noting that his character in Multiverse of Madness was an alternate universe incarnation, so any potential return in the main MCU universe would likely be a different story.
Despite no official announcements from Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige, there have been hints at the inclusion of the X-Men in the MCU.
The recent introduction of Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) in Ms. Marvel and Namor (Tenoch Huerta) in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as mutants suggests that the formation of a new team of X-Men is on the horizon.
It will be exciting to see how the X-Men will be incorporated into the MCU and how Patrick Stewart’s potential return as Professor X will fit into the larger narrative. Fans will have to wait for official announcements from Marvel Studios to find out more.

The film saw critical and commercial success, grossing over $296 million worldwide, and launching a franchise that would go on to include several sequels, spin-offs, and prequels.
