I put my long-ish tes piece on the backburner to take a break and write shorter things featuring my best friends elder scrolls characters from my mind and then I put THAT on the backburner because my very sweet grandmother paid for me to buy bg3 and. alas. look I can't play a game of this nature without fleshing out my player character far more than necessary and then I get curious. so here's a very shoddily scribbled bit from my very first playing-around piece (a rambling description of my character's extremely abandoned house)

i think i'm gonna take a break from tumblr for a bit bc shit is getting so fucking annoying it's been causing my OCD rumination and pacing problems to come back and im sick of it.

i genuinely wish there was another place like this, been here for a decade and i probably wont be leaving for good but like. i've made friends over those years and posts i still enjoy. sick of ppl being all "just make ur own website silly!" when this blog is 90% other reblogs bc i dont really like talking about myself much. i like showing off other people's art and funny vids. Tye Talks: A Diary Entry

Good evening friends, I hope you are all well and having a lovely Thursday! Just one more day till the weekend! Yay <3

Inspired by the lovely @the-winds-of-destiny-xxx , I've decided to start blogging about my day. Hopefully, I will be able to stay up to date lol.

Work

Ugh, I've been up since 5am prepping myself to deliver my second lecture of the semester. It went well, kinda. The students were super interactive which is great. Application + practicality > regurgitating information. They did super well. Also, we have a new HoD, and while I really liked our previous heads, the new HoD is a breath of fresh air and I really enjoy their approach towards education.

My full-time job is actually soooo … atm. My colleague has resigned which is all cool and I wish her the best.

But, there’s a trend I’ve noticed recently within our organization … and I hope it does not present any problems in the future. Tbh, I think it has presented a problem before … but idk. Anyway, constructive criticism goes a long long way … only if you’re keen and willing to learn …. which this person defo is NOT.

Enough about my colleagues, the CEO presented me with an opportunity but I'm lowkey nervous .. bc I prefer being a private + somewhat anonymous person lol, but I obviously said yes. Let's see how it goes, anything can happen and this whole project might fall through. Especially in this economy.

All in all, I really love my job and the career path I’ve taken. I hope it does not backfire on me later on in life.

Uni

Gosh. Uni is the bane of my existence atm. Tho, i did make a bit of progress on my thesis today. I know exactly what I need to do, but I just don't have the motivation to it. But, I think I've finally got myself together .. so let's see what happens.

Also, I'm so grateful for my thesis supervisor <3 she is so understanding and supportive.

Health

But, my nose and throat have been KILLING me recently? Idk if it’s bc of the fan or what … but yup. Thank god for cloves! They’ve helped wayyyy more than anything else I’ve tried lol. Also, my pms is really starting to hit 😭😭 I’ve been in soooo much pain since I got back home.

My mentally, I’m doing okay … there’s obvs moments in the day where I’m like shit?? I’m an adult adult?? Yet my life feels so stagnant 😂 but then I try to keep it moving and not think so much about what I want … and I try to focus on what I do have…. bc I’ve done my best.

Fun and mundane

I finally got to go to my first gym class of the week - I really needed that! The housewives from my class invited me for smoothies afterwards … and they are so fun! Are they my mums age mates? Yes 😂😂 but I loved hanging out with them .. they truly live in their own bubble .. I wanna be exactly like them when I’m older lol.

Oh Oh! And I finally finished the second season of Al Rawabi School for Girls ... flip, it truly broke my heart. What an amazing show.

I really wanted to start the new season of Real Housewives of Durban … but the new Showmax app is truly YUCK! I have the ick 🫠🫠 but, I love the show waaaaay too much, so I’d probs get over it soon lol.

Other than gym and catching up on tv, I made a delicious lasagna for dinner. I'm convinced that my homemade meat sauce and cheese sauce remains undefeated, or maybe that's just me being cocky lol. If I had more space, I would have defo attempted to make the pasta too.

I'm super excited for this weekend bc my friends and I are going to this art and music event and getting food afterwards. I also really wanna buy that duvet set I saw online ... since I'm no longer purchasing an apartment (recession boo boo boo 🍅🍅🍅), I may as well just re-do my current apartment lol. It already looks great, but I've been putting off getting a new duvet set bc I presumed I was gonna buy a bigger bed lol... so I've just been rotating between the two sets I have ... and damn they've seen better days lol.

Relationships

After all he has been through, my brother finally has some great things happening. I am so proud of him. I know he will achieve everything he aspires to <3 This has also done wonders for his self-confidence, he truly needed this, and I hope ... I really hope that it stays on this positive track.

Positive family news aside, idk if anyone saw the post about my uncle? But god damn I'm annoyed af. (Side note: He is my mums cousin btw; but my entire family is close). Anyway, my uncle called my mum to rant … and according to my mum he was sooooo proud of what he said to his wife??? I’m just disgusted. Idk how. His wife could forgive him for this. I’m so glad my mum put him in his place ✋🏽✋🏽✋🏽

I know its not about me and I have no right to speak on other people's relationships, but I hate seeing people put their all into a relationship and even go against their own family to be with someone ... only for their partner to treat them like this. His wife deserves soooooo much better and its sooo heartbreaking that she has to go through. My heart truly breaks for her. I pray everything works out for her.

Idk if you like looking at the mv process gifs ahead of time, but as The Kazui blog I follow I was wondering your thoughts on the new gif of him 👀

I always look at the process gifs ^3^ i usually avoid looking at the shortened mv (or try to) beforehand but this time i will be since i need to be as prepared as possible for the day of reckoning, but i probs wont post about it. ANYWAY. Obvs spoilers below cut

Was he genuine here and started faking later on? Or did he get married because he was 'supposed to'? I keep thinking of the Half line "What i gave up a long time ago, why is it questioning me now?", but tbh that could point to either ideas being true

If he's in his wedding fit in the thumbnail with the dove, and he's meant to be like a cat, and doves represent love (among other things), I assume he sees himself as the one who killed the genuine love in their relationship, as well as the one who killed Hinako (not literally killed but. the reason for her death). Hinako looks rlly pretty here RIP

HE'S SO ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ LOVE HIM. He's so sad ♡ but also kinda fucked up looking... how every man should be i think. He's in his depression fit from Half, but he's not in the theatres. Atleast I'd assume not since he's smoking, ig he probably doesn't have to follow standard theatre rules when its all in his mind... but I'm assuming not!! The only other time we see him wear this in Half outside his little headspace is on the blurry screen at the end where he's arguing with Hinako, so I'm guessing we'll get to see more of his relationship decline and break down, instead of the dull already rocky relationship we get in Half.

We never see him drink at home so this is probably at the bar 👍 I'm guessing its when Hinako meets him at the bar and confronts him since I can't think of any other scene that we've seen so far that'd make him dramatically drop his glass like this, but maybe it's something else. Maybe he's dropped it while thinking about how shitty his life is. Maybe bar girl dropped it. Idk! It's pretty full so i doubt he's just like super drunk or something

This is like that one time in college when I hadn't been sleeping at my dorm for like weeks since I basically became the extra roommate at my best friend's dorm instead, and then one night I came back to get something and my roommate was having a party in our tiny room with a bunch of other people from our dorm and absolutely nobody knew who I was lmao (I found out a couple years later that people considered me the dorm cryptid; many believed I existed but people rarely saw me). Also, another morning I came back to my dorm and my roommate was nowhere to be found but there was some naked dude just waking up in her bed that wasn't her boyfriend and we both looked at each other baffled, and I think he wanted to be less awkward and introduce himself to me but instead he just asked if he should leave. And I was just like "nah it's fine," got the things I needed and peaced out, and he just went back to sleep?? Except maybe I'm the naked not-boyfriend waking up in your blog confused. Idk if that analogy made any sense.

Honestly, all my ideas are my favorite because my brain comes up with whatever and I have to sort through the broken pieces to get a good story. If it makes it out, then I love it. Also, I cherish all my ideas and can't really pick a favorite.

Unfortunately not really. People don't talk to me and on the off change I do engage with someone, my anxiety usually makes me clam up so much they stop talking since they think I'm not interested 😅

3. What is your favourite part of being a writer? What parts could you take or leave?

Adding to my previous question, my favorite part has to be how I can actually express myself, my words, feelings, experiences, etc... in written word. I struggle so much talking to people that writing is the only place where I feel I can say what I really want to.

What I would leave out is how little most people care about writing. I wish we lived in a world where instead of Monday Night Football, we got Writing To Tomorrow or smth idk.

4. What is your greatest motivation to write/create?

The idea that I might one day be the author/owner of a book/character that heavily impacts someone's life for the better.

5. What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever read or been given as a writer?

I think that would be the advice where people say "your favorite author started off with terrible ideas too."

That made me realize I don't have to rush in making a "masterpiece" because it might not even be seen as one. I can just make good enough stories and go from there.

6. What do you wish you knew when you were first starting out writing?

That I can actually write whatever I want lol. When I was younger, I thought that you had to follow strict formulas; like, you could only write women as damsels and men as heroes. Little Miss Ann found out that's definitely not the case 😂

I'm terrible at endings and even more horrible at actually ending my stories, but the few that I have are normalities because of how easily the story came to me and was written, and A Fourth Dimension Reality: The Strange Beginnings because it's my crack baby that I technically "completed" because it was so long I broke it into separate volumes.

9. Which of your characters would you say has the most controversial mindset? Why do you say so, and how do you personally feel about their ideals?

Probably them all. So, typically, I tend to have strong opinions and some of them are considered "hot takes." This bleeds into my stories, but I'd say the character who'd rub some the wrong way is one old one, Dia, and one new, Lazarus.

Dia is a demon who believes angels are no different than his species. Considering he was a former angel, he knows angels can be just as "evil" as demons and doesn't have a concept of "good" and "bad"

Lazarus is just an asshole who likes girls who are introverted and shy because he hates how extroverted and loud the rest of the world is.

I actually based Dia's mindset off my own since I have negative experiences with Christians and a similar negative outlook of them. (I'm totally fine with the religion itself, but not some of the crazies who practice it.)

Lazarus, on the other hand, is someone I don't agree with because I don't feel a personality trait can make someone better than anyone else. Still gotta love Lazzy boi tho~

10. If you, when you first started writing, met you now, what would younger you think?

Probably that she was doing less than she expected 😅 see, I had very high and unrealistic expectations of future me. At this point, she was hoping I'd be a well off author sitting in my log cabin in the woods with my husband Aizen 🙉

So! I think I've figured out how to tag both the leosagi and leochi ships.

Since this is mainly a BLOG and not just a random social media page, it will be easier for me to organize the tags as if this were a more traditional blogging site. So I will be trying to keep the tags as few and as relevant as possible.

I'll be mainly using YuiNardo / yuinardo from now on for just the Yuichi Usagi/rottmnt Leo ship, and stuff like my own fanart. it's specifically "show x show" for me (Yuichi x Nardo, bc those are their unique names in their respective shows xD) and not some of the fan OC stuff

leosagi for the general 2003 Miyamoto Usagi/Leonardo ship but maybe also i.e. crossovers where ppl draw all the versions?

katanashipping also for 2003 leosagi? like I guess I'll decide based on how specific it gets (edit 1.05.23) definitely about 2003 leosagi, since that's where it originated from

I can't remember any other names so those are it for now. I probably won’t use the longer names like Yuichi x Leo, Miyamoto x Leonardo etc just bc I find it tedious to use that many spaces in tags when tagging can be sorta annoying to do on mobile and then fix later on PC. I’m more of a “tag and go” kind of person and I like my tags to be easy to write.

like im sorry I write so much (I don't enjoy writing lenghty things) but i legit need to tag like an oldschool blog occasionally bc I ENJOY finding stuff on my own blog later. it just makes sense! it is so confusing going thru multiple tags for the same thing when it could have a singular tag. or a single new tag for a specific use. and I've forgotten to do that after using social media so much for so long lol

Thinking of that, I guess the tag clogging starts to make sense, considering how much people are more used to the "tag clouds" popularized by twitter and instagram and social-media-like sites before those (the sites inbetween blogging and web 2.0, maybe, but didn't really use those as much so I don't remember either) + the confusion about what the og leosagi was (+ maybe general tmnt fandom confusion over various versions of media for the franchise)

lol it's gonna take a bit long but I'll reorganize the blog more once I have a bit of time on the side from other stuff. now it feels nice that this blog isn't actually that big yet. I don't use sideblogs very long usually and it's my first time actually making anything TMNT related for this long, so it'll be interesting seeing where this blog will go in general. like how it's probably been subtle that while this userhandle/blog started as a tMNT sideblog, I actually have started blogging more about Usagi Chronicles now bc I like the show. and idk what else I'll post if I have time but I will probs keep it as a reblog blog anyways!

I try not to write long blog posts on tumblr anymore but I think the whole "leosagi-leochi tag clogging" point brought up in the "Why do we ship leosagi" video is also just a good point abt how we don't really treat blogs like blogs anymore. every sort of behaviour online has become so influenced by the want to make it trend or have it at least be read at all ("social media" aspect of online behavior now) that even stuff like ao3, a fanfic site, will have tags like "AO3 algothithm, PLEASE be nice to me" when sites like that don't even HAVE algorhithms. it's interesting to think about but also a bit sad on the side because that "tag clouding" does seem to be the only way for some works to become noticed on the above-mentioned actual social media sites. this almost makes me miss sites like deviantart and blogger because things always felt more centralized and easy to find vs twitter, insta or occasionally even tumblr.

ANYWAY

ive been mulling the idea over for like a month now and i rly rly want to but idk what direction i wanna go!! heres my two options:

restart completely. this would be epic bc i dont rember what was going on w him. i also want to change his story and personality a little. im leaning toward this one but my only hang up is that idk what to do abt the older posts.. i dont want to delete them and i dont wanna make a new blog so hm

second option is a time skip where hes an aftermath instead which would probs be a bit easier (but not easier to draw O_O) but i do need to think this one out a bit more
