MC does an impression of each of the brothers and their impressions are spot on! They get everything about each brother and it’s getting tons of laughs when they say stupid shit/out of character shit as each bro. How does the brother being mocked react?
Tumblr media
React to MC Impersonating Them
Tumblr media
- The king of being offended
- When he walks in on MC performing an impression of him in front of his brothers who were howling with laughter, he is beyond upset
- MC “swooning” over Diavolo, interrupting themselves occasionally to yell at Mammon
- At one point they pretend to pass out while swooning, only to be caught by strong arms with a dark aura radiating off of them
- MC runs to hide behind the other brothers, who look equally as nervous about Lucifer’s wrath
- After giving a thorough talking to all the other house of lamentation residents, he goes to his office to calm down
- He was honestly just humiliated that that’s how MC viewed him, and it was troubling to wonder if everybody else saw him as such
- (Even though they constantly tell him that’s how he looks lol)
- To gain Lucifer’s forgiveness MC meekly wanders into his study as he glares at them, waiting for their apology
- He is shocked when they suddenly pretend to swoon again and he catches them, getting ready to tell them off for imitating him
- “That was my impression of myself, swooning over you, Lucifer :)” His heart skipped a beat he cant stay mad this this dumb human
Tumblr media
- He was used to being the butt of jokes from his brothers so he was good at putting up a front like he didn’t care at all
- But the fact it was MC stung real bad
- MC was pretending to be taking things from his brothers and trying tp deny it, despite holding it in their hand, jokingly as they all howled with laughter
- When MC sees him standing in the doorway looking like a kicked puppy, they fee guilty and go to apologize but he storms out of the room before they can
- He goes to his room and counts his grimm in the back of his car sadly, pouting and trying not to cry
- He doesn’t move when he hears the door open, opting to ignore whoever had come to tease him
- When he feels a smaller body climb onto his lap and hug him tightly though he nearly faints
- “M-MC?!”
- “I’m sorry, Mammon, I shouldn’t have teased you, Levi had told me to do my best impression of you and I shouldn’t have accepted his offer,”
-“Whatever, it’s no biggie,” (it is a biggie he’s crying rn)
- When they admit Levi had offered them grimm to do the impression his ears perk up at the sound of them pulling the coins out of their pocket for him
- “I figured if I did it you’d be happy!” MC is gonna suffocate in hugs
Tumblr media
- King of insecurity, if I found out you hurt him like this you better sleep with one eye open
- When he walked in on MC imitating the way he fawns over Ruri-chan and then “refuses” to interact with his brothers because they are 3D, he is so sad
- Snek boy tears up and calls MC a stupid normie before retreating to his room
- He distracts himself with video games, being snappier than normal with his teammates who call him out for being bitchy, so he quits and switches to anime
- Of course nobody would actually like a stupid gross otaku like him
- When MC knocks at his door and calls his name he gives no response and opts to instead lock the door dramatically so they hear it
- MC sits outside his door for a few minutes, sliding their back down the wall beside it and talking about random stuff that Levi likes, offering him anime merch in exchange for his love and forgiveness
- He sits beside his door listening to them before he decides to let them in, to which they respond by tackling him with a hug
- “I’m sorry Levi, I promise I’ll ever ever do it again please just don’t hate me” they cry
- They then spend the rest of the night crying over anime and cuddling
Tumblr media
Warning: choking
- Oh no
- Walks into the living room and sees MC holding a pile of books and insulting all his brothers, especially Lucifer, and when he sees they are all cackling along with MC he feel rage boiling in his chest
- MC acts like a know-it-all and talks about his daddy issues before he stomps out of the room, the booming footsteps of his demonic form drawing the attention of everybody else
- MC goes pale realizing what they’d done
- In his room Satan starts throwing things and tearing his room apart out of pure frustration
- How stupid does MC have to be to make fun of him?
- He continues yelling and breaking things for a few hours before he hears a timid voice call his name from behind him
- Turning around he glares daggers at MC, stomping towards them and grabbing their throat with a tight, but loose enough to just barely breathe, grip
- He lifts them by the throat, yelling about how they’re a stupid human and insulting them in everyway he can think
- he keeps going until he feels MC start to go limp in his hands, which causes him to snap back into reality and drop them as they sit on the floor gasping and rubbing their now bruised throat
- He panics and leans down to try and help them but is sad when they flinch away- both of them now crying
- They end up just chilling and crying and stuff the rest of the night
Tumblr media
- TBH I don’t think he’d mind it much, he’d probably thrive off of the attention as MC pretends o be horny over every little thing
- They talk about how beautiful they are and how nobody can compare to him, as well as how everyone wants him
- He laughs along in the moment and continues to joke with his brothers and MC
- When he gets back to his room though he breaks down and starts to feel kind of insecure about the way he is
- MC feels something is wrong and goes to his room, knocking lightly before walking in and seeing him curled up in his bed sniffling
- They calmly walk over and lay on top of him playfully begging him to get up and go party with them
- He only responds by pulling back the covers and pulling MC under with him
- He holds them close as they just let him cry, stroking his soft hair and whispering words of love to him
- Once he calms down MC can’t apologize enough, because they know it takes a lot to make Asmodeus feel insecure like that
Tumblr media
- When MC impersonates him he finds it funny, because he knows he is flawed and he makes light of his situation
- When they talk about emptying the fridge and everyone else starving though he feels a bit guilty and apologizes quietly with a blush
- As they continue on Beel starts to feel more and more guilty about his eating habits and how unfair it was to everyone else who also wanted to eat
- he made an excuse saying he had to go to the gym to meet with someone and headed to the gym
- He worked out for a while, letting out all his negative feelings on the equipment
- When he returns home he sees MC and Belphie both cuddled up on Beel’s bed, and he realizes they had waited for him to come home and join them
- After he showers he lays next to his twin and MC and rests for a bit before he feels a hand brush hair out of his eyes
- When he and MC make eye contact he pulls them closer and apologizes for leaving so abruptly and for always eating too much
- MC holds him and apologizes too for taking the joke too far
Tumblr media
- He’s too lazy to care
- MC straight up starts fake snoring and lays in random places and jumps on Beel
- They all pretend to kill themselves because of the incident from when he got outta the attic
- I can’t really picture him getting offended because he’d just be like haha yea i suck, anyways lets nap together
- He just kinda laughs along idk

Moonlit Masquerade: Ch 1
Because I couldn't help myself. This was inspired by a piece of fanart i saw. This is also on AO3
After the events of the last week it felt strange to just go back to school like she hadn’t gone up against Belos and everyone hadn't seen her rescue Eda and escape from the Emperor's coven and petrification.
It was weird, to say the least, but then again, there was never a day in the Boiling Isles that wasn't weird in some form or fashion if she were honest, she'd gotten pretty used to rolling with the punches in the last month though if she did say so herself.
This was a little different of course.
Gus and Willow had come by the very next day to check on them and get the rest of the story they’d missed after they’d gone to get Eda.
She could tell that her friends were disappointed that she hadn't come to them or even talked to them about it before throwing herself headlong into danger as she had been want to do as of late, but she had already dragged them into this mess with her once and she’d decided that was to many times, especially now that she had a better idea of what kind of real danger the Emperor posed.
She'd managed to pull one over on him and prove he wasn't invincible, but she also knew he was just messing with her, despite her giving it her all and pulling some rather dangerous stunts to boot.
She couldn’t decide if she was becoming more reckless or if she always had been and the Isles just really brought it out in her what with all the… well, dangerous stuff.
Eh, unimportant right now.
They decided it was probably better for Eda and Lillith to lay low for a while and stay inside the house for now, not draw any attention to themselves, difficult as that was for Eda. Lilith would help keep her wrangled, and maybe King.
Though he was just as likely to egg her on as anything else.
Since they weren’t leaving the house Eda couldn’t take her to school on Owlbert, so it was just her and her trusty legs walking to school that morning. She was a little nervous at the prospect of facing… well, everyone.
Everyone had seen her and as the only human on the Isles she wasn’t exactly hard to miss on a regular day much less when being broadcast by crystal ball to everyone.
Her fingers played with the strap of her bag nervously.
She met up with Willow halfway and some of her fears were temporarily relieved as they walked the rest of the way, chatting animatedly. She almost completely forgot about her worries until the school came into view and she could see all the students moving about outside and on the front steps.
Her grip on her bag tightened again and her shoulders bunched up around her ears.
“You ok?” Willow seemed to quickly pick up on her tenseness.
“Yeah…,” she started slowly, eyes darting around the field out front of the school, no one seemed to even be looking at her, anymore than usual that is, even as they walked right up to the school steps where Gus was waiting for them, waving. “I guess I just thought… I dunno, that after what happened more people would be… talking about me?” She wasn’t really sure what she had been expecting.
“Well, you had your cloak up the entire time and the Emperor did say the titan told him to free Eda, so you’d be included in that.” Gus shrugged.
"Gus and I recognized you, but we're together all the time too," Willow added.
“Yeah, I guess…” She wouldn’t say she was disappointed by the lack of attention, it was just so, anticlimactic she supposed. Luz didn’t mind being in the spotlight, but she didn’t actively seek it either.
The bell screamed its first warning toll and all the kids roaming around outside the school began making their way inside.
“See you guys later!” Luz waved as Gus and Willow headed off to their perspective classes, waving to her over their shoulders as they disappeared in the crowd of students.
Tapping a finger against her cheek she had to think for a moment to remember what track classes she had today. There wasn’t enough time in the day for her to take all nine tracks a day so it had to be split over the five weekdays.
It was Monday, so she had beast keeping and potions. She grinned at the thought. She loved learning about all the tracks, but beast keeping was especially fun.
She never got to practice manticore taming or griffin riding back home after all!
She paused mid-step.
Home
The thought made her frown but she tried to shake off the heavy feeling that had settled over her, there was no point in moping about it right now. She did what she had to do, for the good of everyone… and it was her fault that they had been put in that situation to start with, it was only right that she fix it.
Eda was already looking into it but there were other things going on that needed her attention to, and that was fine! Luz knew what she was doing when she’d done it.
She guessed these were just the consequences of her actions catching up to her that her mom had always been warning her about. Maybe now she’d start learning to look before she leaped.
She had started back toward the steps only to be stopped again.
“Luz!?”
She immediately recognized that voice as she turned around to come face to face with Amity as she jogged up to the steps, her abomination trailing behind her as it carried her books. She stopped a few feet from her.
“Hey Amity! You're out of your cast!” Luz grinned at the sight of her friend finally out of bed and back at school.
“Huh? Oh, yea, a few days ago.” She seemed to fidget as she tucked a stray strand of mint colored hair behind her ear. “Forget about that though!” she seemed to focus again, looking at Luz with a frown, face set in a stern look. “What happened?!” she demanded.
Luz frowned, fingers twitching over the rough canvas strap of her bag, she didn’t need to ask what Amity was talking about, she could only mean the whole petrification, escape from the emperor’s coven thing that had been broadcast across all of the Boiling Isles, she’d no doubt seen it.
“Ah well, it’s kind of a long story…” she rubbed her arm and laughed nervously. Amity did not look at all impressed by that answer. “If you want to meet at the library after school I can explain it all,” she offered. She felt bad that out of all her friends Amity was the only one completely in the dark since she didn’t even know about Eda’s curse or had gone with them on the trip to the Emperor’s castle.
Amity didn’t look satisfied with the answer but just as she opened her mouth to speak the bell screamed again, it’s last call for students to get to class before they were tardy and if Luz knew anything at all about Amity, it was that she loved Azura and was never late.
“Alright, I’ll meet you there,” she agreed, though she still didn't look happy about it.
Amity quickly hurried off to class with her abomination, leaving Luz standing there before she smacked herself in the forehead with her palm.
"I'm gonna be late!" She helped before taking off in the direction of beast keeping 101.
~ ~ ~
The day seemed to fly by after she actually made it to class.
It was nice to have something else to occupy her mind other than impending doom in one form or another.
Potions always took all her concentration, unless she wanted to accidentally turn a potion for curing mild rashes into a literal bomb.
...It had happened before...
It had only been a small explosion and her teacher had quickly put out the fire though.
Now that she thought about it, that would have been so much more useful last week.
She pondered the merits of magical bombs in convenient, throwable glassware as she walked quickly through the Bonesborough market toward the library.
She'd been a little slow cleaning up after her potions class and had ended up staying a little long. Amity would probably be waiting on her already, she was punctual to a fault.
She skipped up the library steps two at a time and quickly snuck by the librarian at the front counter when he wasn’t looking.
After the time she had gotten kicked out with the Blight twins, she wasn’t sure she was exactly welcome in the library, so it was better to just not let the librarian see her really.
She snuck quietly through the halls to the romance section. It was devoid of people as it typically was.
She scanned the shelves before smiling as her eyes settled on a book. ‘The Lone Witch and the Secret Room.’
She pulled the book out and shoved it back in, there was a loud click as the shelf slid away to reveal Amity’s secret room.
Amity was already waiting inside for her, curled up in the corner on some cushions, a book splayed across her lap as she stepped in, letting the shelf slide back into place behind her.
“Hey” She held up a hand in greeting. “Sorry it took me a little longer than normal. I had to clean up after potions.”
“It’s alright, Luz.” She closed her book and motioned to the other cushion several feet away. Luz dropped her bag and plopped onto the floor,crossing her legs as she looked up at the youngest Blight and smiled.
Gold eyes flitted away and cheeks took on a rosy hue. Luz wondered if Amity was hot, it wasn’t bad in here but some people ran warmer and colder than others.
“So…,” Luz started, unsure.
Amity seemed to jolt as her eyes were once again on the human and her expression morphing into one of serious expectancy.
"What happened last week?"
Straight to the point then. Luz nodded as she started with Eda's curse and the field trip to the Emperor's castle.
Amity's face seemed to shift through a myriad of emotions over the course of the story, especially when Luz talked about how Lilith had kidnapped her and tried to kill her.
The horror on her friend's face and those intense gold eyes focussed on her made Luz self conscious and she pulled her knees up to her chest but didn't stop her tale. She squeezed her legs as she got lost in thinking about it.
Amity wasn't the only one experiencing a lot of emotions right now.
The fear as Eda sucame to her curse and later the rage she felt anytime someone so much as uttered Lilith's name or she saw one of those dumb posters made her whole body shake, and finally the helplessness and sorrow as she'd handed over the portal and then had to burn her world away in a flash of fire. All of it came back to her so easily, still fresh on her mind even as she tried not to think about it too hard.
"So, you can't go home?" Amity finally asked quietly after a brief silence following Luz’s explanation of everything that had happened.
She shook her head sadly, eyes downcast and quiet.
Amity hesitated a second before reaching over to set a hand on one of Luz's, resting on her knees and making her look up, brown meeting gold.
"I'm sorry, Luz…" She squeezed gently.
The small touch and the look on her friend's face caused a comforting flash of heat in Luz's chest.
"Thanks… Eda's working on it so…" She shrugged.
Eda who was also without magic, which Amity knew now.
“I’ve seen the owl lady do some pretty impressive things, I’m sure she’ll figure something out.”  Amity gave a final squeeze before pulling back, trying to will away the touch of pink on her cheeks, now wasn’t the time for it and she scolded herself for the automatic response.
“Yeah…” Luz nodded to herself, a small smile managing to pull at her lips, which made Amity smile in turn.
“I can’t believe how selfless you are sometimes… destroying the portal to save Eda…,” Amity said, fiddling with her hands now sitting folded in her lap.
“It was my fault she got caught in the first place, I had to fix my mistake…” Luz shrugged, a little flustered by praise she hardly deserved. “She didn’t leave me… I couldn’t leave her.”
“Most people wouldn’t have done that, even if it was their fault,” the young witch insisted.
“Maybe…” Luz shrugged again but couldn’t help the widening of her smile.
Amity glanced at the clock on the wall, her smile turned into a grimace, they had been here longer then she had planned.
“I need to head home…” Amity stood and Luz followed suit as they headed out of the secret room, checking quickly to make sure no one was around to see them as they headed out.
“I have abominations and illusions tomorrow, so I guess I’ll see you in class.” Luz smiled as they stepped outside the library.
“Of course…” Amity nodded but she seemed distracted as they paused at the top of the library steps.
“Amity?” Luz called and again she was focussed on her, but the look on her face was one Luz had seen before, she was thinking.
She hesitated a second, looking around the empty area outside the library before closing the two feet of distance between them.
Luz could only blink as Amity's arms wrapped around her in a tight embrace, chin tucked into her neck, mint green filling the latina's vision.
"I'm so glad you're okay."
It was said so quietly she almost missed it, hardly a whisper, breathed against her neck.
Warmth immediately flooded her chest at the quiet murmur.
Before Luz could reach up to return the embrace Amity was already pulling away.
“See you tomorrow, Luz.” she called as she hurried down the library steps, never looking back and leaving Luz standing there, stunned, in her wake.
“Bye…” she held up a hand in farewell at the retreating witch’s back.
Why was her face so warm?
Shaking it off, Luz adjusted her bag as she hurried back to the owl house before Eda could wonder where she was.
The heat in her face faded quickly but the warmth in her chest lingered all night.
The minute Amity set her things down on her desk she caught sight of the Emperor’s coven poster, with Lilith Clawthorne staring back at her with a smug smile.
With a frown Amity ripped the poster from the wall and stuffed it into the trash can next to her desk.

Chapter Two
Tumblr media
The next day I kept my distance from everyone. I knew I looked awful. I hadn't slept for the rest of the night after all the boys woke me up. I could feel the bags under my eyes and all the guys from my group that kept looking at me with worry clear on their faces was telling me I did indeed look half exhausted and half dead.
At this point I didn't care. I sat silently a seat or two down from the rest of the group. I just wanted to be left alone. Thomas and Newt kept watching me though. At least Thomas seemed to be done with his tangent on the bodies he saw last night. He wouldn't shut up about it this morning.
He had apparently snuck out while we were all still asleep. He said when he got back in the room he could see me thrashing in my sleep. It was only a minute or two later I started shouting loud enough to wake up all the boys.
"Hi" a girl said softly as she came to sit next to me.
I gave her a small smile and nod. She seemed unsure for a moment before continuing to talk.
"I'm Angie" she said with a bright smile as she extended her hand to me.
I took it with my small smile still in place. I shook her hand lightly then let go. She was looking at me curiously.
"And you are?" She asked raising a brow at me.
I felt a body scoot closer to me on the other side. A hand extended in front of me towards the girl. It was Newt. A smile wide on his face.
"I'm Newt and this is Emi. Good luck getting her to talk though. She hasn't said a word since we got out of the maze." He told the girl as she shook his hand.
She looked at me. Her eyes seemed to soften and fill with understanding.
"I can only imagine what happened to you in there. My group had our share of horrendous experiences." She said with a now sad smile.
I gave a small nod hoping she would go away now. I obviously wasn't wanting a conversation.
"I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Us ladies need to stick together. Too many boys around." She chuckled softly.
Newt scoffed like he was insulted.
"I kinda like all the boys around." He said cheekily winking at her.
This made me smile. A real genuine smile. I nudged Newt away with my elbow making him laugh. Angie looked back at me with a questioning brow raised.
"Is he-" she paused leaning closer to me.
"Gay?" She asked in a whisper.
I smiled and chuckled softly as I nodded. Her smile widened as she leaned back to peak at Newt. I turned my head to see him sitting fairly close to Thomas. Thomas didn't seem to mind his close proximity. I watched as Newt laughed at something that was said. He leaned forward placing his hand on top of Thomas' thigh. Thomas showed no signs of feeling uncomfortable from his touch. It actually seemed like Thomas moved his legs even closer to Newt. I smiled at the small action none of the other boys noticed. Angie chuckled behind me making me turn back to her.
"Well that is something. Listen Emi, if you decide you want or need to talk about whatever happened to you. I'm always free to help out another lady." She said smiling.
She patted my arm then stood up and walked back over to her table where several other girls were sitting. I turned back to Newt and Thomas. I hadn't realized the two had even gotten that close yet. I knew Newt liked him but I never got the chance to ask Thomas about how he felt.
Later that day we were back in the cafeteria eating dinner. This time I was sitting between Newt and Fry. Thomas was on the other side of Newt. Minho and Winston were on the other side of the table. Janson walked into the room holding a clipboard. Everyone seemed to quiet down quickly at the sight of him.
"You know the drill. When I call your name please join me." Janson said then raised the clipboard.
"Barry, Walt, Edgar, Samantha" Janson started to call slowly.
His voice was drowned out by Thomas who had gotten our groups attention. We all leaned closer to hear him.
"I want to know what's threw that door." Thomas said sternly as he stared at the door in front of us
Newt groaned softly.
"We've been over this. You said they were covered up so you don't know what you saw. It could have been anything under there." Newt said trying to get threw to Thomas.
I already knew he was wasting his breath. I could she the stubbornness and determination etched on Thomas' face as he continued to stare at the door.
"I'm telling you what I saw. They were bodies. Aris said they bring in a new batch every night." Thomas stated.
"Who the hell is Aris?" Minho asked him.
Thomas turned his head and nodded towards a small boy sitting at a table alone. He was the boy the other group told us had been here the longest.
"Well, I'm sold." Minho said sarcastically.
"And last but not least, David. Thank you for your attention. Enjoy the rest of your evening." Janson said loudly.
He lead the group of kids out of the room threw the usual guarded door.
"We don't  know anything for certain. We should just keep our heads down and try not to draw any attention to ourselves. Alright?" Newt said making all the sense in the world.
I nodded silently agreeing with him. Thomas, on the other hand, slammed his hands on the table then shot to his feet.
"What is he doing?" Newt asked stiffening as Thomas walked swiftly to the door.
"I think he's drawing attention to himself." Fry stated simply.
I couldn't help the smile that formed on my face. These boys truly knew their come backs. Thomas was grabbed by the guard and stopped in his tracks. I couldn't hear what they were saying but by the look on the guard's face this wasn't going to be good. Thomas was shoved back again as he tried to walk past. He turned back towards the table then paused. Oh no. This is gonna be bad. He whipped back around throwing himself at the guard in a feeble attempt to get past him. This made all of us jump to our feet. I was the first to reach Thomas grabbing his arm and pulling him back from the guard. Newt grabbed his other arm holding him back.
"Control your friend!" The guard shouted at us.
Janson came running into the room stepping between us and the guard.
"What's happening here?" Janson asked angrily.
He turned from the guard to Thomas, back to the guard, then finally back to Thomas.
"Thomas, I thought we could trust each other. You know we're all on the same team here." Janson said in a mixture of disbelief and disappointment.
Thomas stepped closer to Janson.
"Are we?" He asked narrowing his eyes at the man.
Janson sighed then turned to the guard.
"Get them to their bunks." He ordered then walked away.
The guards grabbed us and pushed us forward. They had us moving quickly until we were outside our room. They opened the door shoving us all inside roughly then slammed and locked the door behind us.
"What the hell was that?" Minho asked harshly as all the boys rounded on Thomas.
"You didn't really think they were just going to let you threw?" Newt asked in bewilderment.
Thomas chuckled dryly
"No, of course I didn't." Thomas paused.
He reached to his back pocket then pulled out an unmistakable key card. You have got to be kidding me. All the boys and myself groaned in annoyance.
"I'm gonna find out what's on the other side of that door." Thomas said sternly with the key card firmly in his hand.
Newt sighed and crossed his arms over his chest. He looked incredibly disapproving of Thomas' actions.
"Newt, their hiding something. These people are not who they say they are." He said trying to get Newt to understand.
"No, Thomas, you don't know that. The only thing that we do know is that they helped rescue us from W.C.K.D. They gave us new clothes, they gave us food, they gave us a proper bed. Some of us haven't had that in a long time." Newt explained sternly.
Thomas started to retort but Newt put his hand up silencing him.
"Some of us a lot longer than others." He added.
A sudden loud bang made me jump. Turning around I saw the metal air shaft cover lying in the middle of the room. The next second a head popped out from under one of the bunks.
"Hey Thomas" Aris said non chalantly.
"What the hell?" Fry asked no one in particular.
"You got it didn't you?" Aris asked Thomas ignoring everyone else.
Thomas showed him the key.
"Yea, yea, let's go" he said as he moved to follow Aris who had disappeared again.
Thomas paused turning back to the group as he knelt on the ground.
"Alright, maybe you guys are right. Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I gotta find out for sure. Just cover for me. I'll be back as soon as I can." Then he slipped under the bed and disappeared.
"What just happened?" Winston asked aloud.
"No. Bloody. Idea." Newt said threw clenched teeth.
I made my way over to my bed as the boys settled into their own. All but Newt. He was pacing the middle of the floor looking terribly distraught. I watched him for a few minutes before sighing and laying down. As soon as I closed my eyes I felt someone sit on the edge of my bed. I opened my eyes to see Newt.
"What do you think?" He asked me quietly.
I just shrugged.
"Come on Emi. Please talk to me I need you. Am I overreacting? Should I be more trusting of Thomas?" He asked in a whisper watching my face for any sign of an answer.
I didn't want to answer. I was perfectly fine living my life with my last words spoken being to Gally. I knew that Newt needed me. I knew he needed an answer. I sat up and cleared my throat. Newt suddenly looked hopeful.
"Not overreacting but do trust him more." My voice sounded weird even to my own ears.
Newt smiled wide then pulled me into a hug.

Tumblr media
I let out a sigh as my night class finally finished, quickly shoving my books in my bag and slinging it over my shoulder. I was so done with this day, but I still had to meet up with my Chemistry group for a group project. We were meeting at the campus library for a few hours to lay down an outline of what we wanted to do and assign everyone tasks.
Unfortunately, I ended up in a group with the guy that I have a huge crush on. My best friend Allison seemed ecstatic about it. She went on and on about how I should just talk to him tonight after we were done with our project work.
"You should ask him on a date!" Allison said as she sat in front of me in her desk chair. "Then you two can be the adorable couple you were destined to be!" She teased, gently poking me in the side.
I rolled my eyes, shaking my head in response. "It's not that easy Allison. I get all nervous and stuttery in front of him. It's embarrassing." I groaned, burying my head in my hands. "I'd be better off skydiving than trying to ask him on a date."
I ran my hands over my face as I remembered that conversation, my stomach twisting up in knots at the thought of asking him out. There was no way I was ever going to be able to do that. I'd already resigned myself to loving him from afar.
With a groan, I readjusted my backpack on my shoulder before opening the library door and walking in. I gave the student working at the desk a small nod as I walked past her into the library, heading for the tables. I was a few minutes early, my hands growing clammy as I walked over to an empty table, setting my bag on it and sitting down. I didn't do well in group projects, especially if we have to present it. I somehow always ended up being the one presenting it, my anxiety soaring through the roof with public speaking being a fear of mine. I was too nice to say no, however, as everyone would always be looking at me with expectant and hopeful eyes.
I pulled my Chemistry book out my bag, as well as the papers our professor gave us about the project, starting to go over and take notes out of the book that we would need while I waited. Time passed, students coming in and out of the library, but never anyone in my group. With a sigh, I checked the time, noticing it was already an hour past when we were supposed to meet. I had already managed to take notes for half the stuff in the project, running my fingers through my hair as I looked over what was left.
“Fucking great.” I mumbled to myself, resigning to finishing up the notes before heading back to my apartment. Another hour passed, not even Peter showing up for the meeting. With a yawn, I pulled out the rest of my homework, deciding to get it done as well.
Time passed, the sky growing darker with each passing hour. My eyelids grew heavy, threatening to close and never open again. With a yawn, I cleaned up my work space, shoving all my things back into my bag and standing up. I stretched my arms over my head, back letting out a satisfying crack. I sighed, bending over and grabbing my bag, tossing it over my shoulder and heading out of the library.
It was rather late as I walked home, the only light coming from the street lamps and passing cars, the occasional window lit up in the buildings I walked past. The air was slightly chilly, pulling my jacket closer to my body to keep myself warm. The familiar sounds of the city drifted through the air along with my footsteps against the sidewalk. My stomach churned, arms wrapping around my waist as an uneasy feeling washed over me. The hair raised up on the back of my neck, a chill running down my spine. I felt like I was being watched, like I was being followed. I picked up my pace, faintly hearing another set of footsteps behind me. I swallowed nervously, noticing a dimly lit alleyway ahead. Maybe I could shake him if I ran down that alley?
I took my chance as I turned the corner, picking my feet up and running down the thin space. Glancing over my shoulder, I saw the person stop, their shadowy figure blocking the way I came from. They didn’t seem to be coming after me as I continued to run, my fear slowly dissipating as I turned to face forward again. I yelped as I hit something hard, falling back on my butt on the cold concrete.
“Look what we have here. A cute college girl on her way home.” A deep gruff voice said. I slowly looked up, a large man standing in front of me. I shuffled away, not caring that my clothes were getting dirty or the rocks that painfully dug into my palms. My back hit something else, quickly turning around to see the man who had been following me. He was shorter than the other, a bit wider built as well. He grabbed my upper arm, painfully pulling me up from the ground, a whimper of pain escaping past my lips.
“She’s quite a catch, ain’t she? How much do ya think we could sell ‘er for?” The other man said, amusement dripping from his tone. He roughly shoved me towards the other guy, pulling my bag off my back in the process. I stumbled forward, heart racing in my chest. The fear was starting to sink in, panic coating every nerve in my body. I swallowed the lump forming in my throat, not wanting to please them with my tears.
“Oh, we could make a fortune off of her, but why don’t we have a little fun of our own.” The taller man said, grabbing my chin and forcing me to look at him. He smelled like cigarettes and alcohol with an overlaying stench of body odor. My stomach churned at the smell, wanting to empty the contents of my stomach on the ground. I swallowed down the growing bile as he yanked me forward, causing me to stumble and fall to my knees. He grabbed my hair, painfully yanking my head back as he looked down at me with a sick grin.
“Why don’t you show us what you can do?” He said with a disgusting glint in his eyes. I grit my teeth, pulling away and scrambling to get up. I managed to catch my footing, bolting towards the other guy with every intention to punch my way past him if I had to. Pain shot through my skull as I felt the tall guy grab my hair, forcefully pulling me back. Tears threatened to spill over as he turned me around, a snarl present as he glared at me.
“You ain’t getting away that easy.” He spat, his hand coming in contact with my cheek with a loud smack. Pain flooded my senses, a loud cry leaving my mouth as tears started to run down my cheeks. He let go of my hair, shoving me down onto the ground once more. “Now do as I said.”
Panic flooded through me once more, chest tightening in fear. I was struggling to get air in my lungs, but I looked up at him, trying to mask my emotions as I glared. “No.”
I let out another cry as pain engulfed my chest, a swift kick knocking all the air out of my lungs. Everything burned with fear as I struggled for air, each breath more painful than the last. I looked up to be greeted with another hand across the cheek, every nerve burning with pain in the shape of a hand. Fear painfully gripped at my chest as I struggled to get away from the tall man, the shorter one swiftly kicking me in the back, knocking me further onto the ground.
“Please just let me leave.” I begged, trying to pick myself up off the ground. I didn’t make it far before I was shoved back down, the bottom of a shoe pressing my face into the ground. Small rocks dug into my cheek, drawing small bits of blood as he pressed down harder, face still stinging from where he slapped me.
“Oh, you aren’t going anywhere, sweet cheeks.”
“I believe she said to let her leave.” A third and strangely familiar voice piped up. There was the swooshing of air, followed by grunts as the pressure on my face left. I quickly scrambled to my feet, turning to high tail it out of the alleyway. I didn’t even turn around to see who my savior was, trying to get myself as far from these men as possible. My chest burned as I struggled for air, stumbling towards the entrance I came from as everything started to spin, stomach churning. I was quickly grabbed, overwhelmed by the same scent from before, making the urge to vomit even worse.
“You can’t save them all Spider-man.” I heard the short man say, eyes blowing wide in fear as my stomach flipped. A sharp pain radiated through my chest, the ability to breath getting even harder as every muscle tightened. I gasped for air as I watched Spider-man turn around, quickly webbing the man to the wall. His white eyes went wide as I fell to the ground, every ounce of strength slowly leaving my body. I could feel my shirt starting to stick to me, my gaze slowly drifting down to the knife sticking out of my chest. As if seeing it made it real, pain shot through every nerve in my body, only managing to let out a weak whimper as a cough wracked through me. Blood fell onto the ground below and dribbled down my chin, the taste of iron coating my tongue as I looked back up, hands shaking.
“Y/N, everything’s going to be alright. You’re going to be alright. I… I’m just going to get you to Tony and he can help. Yea.” He rambled on, his hands sliding under my shoulder and helping me stand. My legs felt weak, unable to keep myself standing as I fell back down to my knees. His arm slipped under my legs as black started to enter my vision.
“Y/N, stay awake. Come on, your gonna make it.”
I struggled to lift my head, giving the masked hero a weak smile before the pain and exhaustion consumed me, my vision turning to black.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cold. Everything felt cold and heavy, the dark filling every part of my vision. The air smelled of antiseptic, the faint scent of blood lingering, barely there but still ever present. Every muscle and bone in my body ached, a dull pain radiating from my chest. The faint sound of a machine beeping in the background drifted to my ears, soft breaths being heard nearby.
I tried to move, the faint scratching of fabric felt against my skin as I slowly lifted my arm. I rubbed my eyes, lids heavy as I struggled to open them. Slowly, I managed to get them open, taking in my surroundings. I was in a white room, though it didn’t seem much like a hospital. The tech was too fancy to belong to a hospital. Slowly, I sat up, the dull pain turning sharp as I moved. I gave up with a cry, laying back down as I tried to gather my thoughts, trying to remember the events that led up to me laying in this bed.
My gaze wandered as bits and pieces came back, taking in the large amount of bandaging that covered my chest. I gently placed my fingers against it, wincing as pain radiated from where I touched. My attention was drawn to the IV stuck in the back of my hand, a chill running down my spine as I saw the needle disappear into my skin.
The sound of a door sliding open pulled me out of my thoughts, gaze drifting to the direction it came from. There in the doorway was the one and only Tony Stark, a small smile on his face as he walked into the room.
“Good, you’re awake.” He said, looking at the monitor that stood next to the bed. He mumbled something to himself before turning his attention back to you. My brows furrowed as I looked back at him, even more confused as to how I got here.
“You were stabbed.” He said simply, pointing to the bandage on my chest. I gasped, the memories of the night before rushing back. “You’re lucky. When the kid brought you here, you were barely holding on. Been out cold for a few days. He was getting really worried about you.”
“A… a few days?” I asked, barely able to speak above a whisper. My throat was scratchy, voice weak from waking up.
“Yep. Collapsed lung, internal bleeding. Lucky they didn’t get ya in the heart.” Tony said, patting your shoulder. He turned back towards the door, walking out. “I’ll tell Peter you’re awake.”
“Wait, Peter?” I asked, but it was too late as the door slid back closed. Sighing, I stared up at the ceiling, still trying to figure out how I got here. I faintly remembered a red and blue blur fighting the two men.
Was it Spider-man?
“Hey, Y/N.” I heard Peter say, his voice pulling me out of my thoughts. I turned my head to look at him, butterflies erupting in my stomach. I gave him a smile, heart warming as I thought about what Tony had said.
“Hey Peter. So, uh, I don’t suppose you know how I got here?” I said with a light chuckle, flinching as I slowly managed to sit up. He was quickly by my side, hand resting on my lower back as he helped me up. It was like electricity traveling from him to me at his touch, my heart racing as my eyes met his. “Thank you.”
“Yea, no problem.” He muttered, an awkward smile making its way on his face. “And, uh, Spider-Man brought you here.” He said, scratching at the back of his neck. I gave a small nod, smiling as I looked down at my hands.
“Well, I should probably thank him. He did save my life.” I said softly, looking back over at Peter. I watched as a faint blush creeped over his cheeks, the way his lips twitched like he wanted to smile. I giggled softly, smiling as I watched him. “Ya know, this whole nearly dying thing has made me realize just how short life is.” I said softly, cheeks burning as I watched Peter carefully.
I slowly reached up and gently cupped his cheek, worrying my lower lip as I debated whether to take the plunge. I could feel the heat growing under my palm, a smile tugging at my lips as his blush grew darker. What was there to lose?
“Peter, I… I’ve really liked you for, like, a long time.” I said softly, watching as his eyes went wide.
“R-really?” He asked softly, a smile creeping its way on his face. I gave a nod and a giggle, gently pulling his face towards mine.
“Really.” I whispered, lips ghosting against his. Our noses bumped against each other, every touch like a static shock of electricity. Gently, I pressed my lips against his, heart racing in my chest. Our lips molded together, fireworks exploding in my head as I slid my fingers through his hair, sparks of color filling my vision.
“Hey, uh, I’m sorry for not being at the meeting for the Chemistry project.” He muttered into the kiss, his fingers intertwining with mine.
“It’s fine. We still have a week before it’s due.” I whispered, pressing my lips back against his, cutting him off before he could start rambling. I pulled him closer, wincing as the sharp pain in my chest returned. He pulled away, resting his forehead against mine.
“Be careful. You were stabbed.” He said softly, his other hand coming up to rest against the bandages. I watched as his eyes glazed over, jaw clenching as he pulled away. “I, uh, I gotta go. Stark internship and all, but I’ll be back. Promise.” He said softly, gently squeezing my hand. I nodded, pulling him in for one last kiss before he left, the door sliding closed behind him.
I sighed as I laid back against the pillows, a smile crossing my face as I stared back up at the ceiling. I let out a happy squeal, wincing at the pain it caused.
Peter Parker liked me back.
AN: So here is another one shot! I’m a bit sick, so I’m not going to be opening up any blurb nights this week and instead work on what I have left to finish!
When you pulled up in front of the house, there was a light on in the living room despite the late hour. Gerard opened the door for you, the living room filling with crisp fall air as Mikey jumped up from his place on the couch as you walked in.
“Where the hell have you been?” he shouted before noticing how you were both dressed, looking back at the breaking news on the TV. “You did that didn’t you?”
“Mikey, listen,” Gerard started.
“You killed them! And you tricked them into shooting that Bob guy, Frank told us!”
“Would you shut up and let us explain?” Gerard shouted back. You didn’t know what to do or say, standing silently behind Gerard, wrapping his jacket tighter around yourself. Mikey’s mouth formed a tight line and his brow was furrowed, but he nodded and sat back down. Gerard began to explain your plan to draw Restoricom off the rest of them by taking off that night, how Brendon found you, and it was either following his plan, or continuing to run from Restoricom. He left out all mention of Sarah.
After hearing everything, Mikey nodded and sighed. “I’m sorry I blew up, I was worried. I didn’t know if I was gonna see you, either of you, again.”
“We couldn’t risk anyone else knowing,” you said quietly. “It could have compromised everything.”
“So, it’s over?”
Gerard nodded silently, and Mikey got up. “I haven’t slept in a week thanks to you two, so I’m going to bed. Welcome back.”
You sat down where Mikey had been sitting and let out a sigh. “We aren’t evil, right?”
“No Sugar, all we did was help Sarah do her job, and saved ourselves from being killed for what we are.”
You nodded listening to Gerard’s reassurance. He was right, you knew he was, but it was going to take time for it to sink in.
“Come on, let’s go to bed,” he said offering you his hand. You took it, following him up the stairs to the comfort of his familiar bed.
~
The next morning Gerard woke up, squinting his eyes against the sun that was beginning to shine through the crack of the curtains.
He instinctively reached out for you but felt nothing but the cold spot where you had lay the night before. He sat up and saw your phone was gone as well. He tried to regain his bearings as he looked around his room. The gown you wore the night before was draped carefully over his desk chair, your pajamas in a pile at the foot of the bed. Your bag in the corner looked like it had been dug through, but it didn’t look like you had left with no intentions of returning.
Gerard felt another wave of guilt wash over him. He had come to learn that when you had a lot on your mind, you isolated yourself and he knew you were dealing with your own feelings of guilt over last night’s events. It was his fault that you were dragged into this whole mess. He jumped into a plan without considering other options and the next thing you knew you were doing a favor for Death and the blood of a dozen corrupt men was on your hands. Gerard felt like he needed to make this right somehow.
He got up and decided to go check by the lake to see if that’s where you were. He expected to find the coffee maker running when he entered the kitchen, but he found it was still empty and cold.
“Hey Gee, where’s the car?” Mikey asked, his voice still thick with sleep as he shuffled into the kitchen.
“(YN), she must hav-” Gerard started, but was cut off by his phone buzzing in his pocket. “(YN) are you ok? Where are you?”
Mikey watched his brother’s face turned from concern, to shock, to sadness.
“Are you ok?” He paused, listening. “Ok, I’ll be there as soon as I can.”
“What’s wrong?” Mikey asked as Gerard ended the call and started rushing toward the door, grabbing his jacket.
“(YN)’s house was burned down the night before last, and the investigators are all over her. It’s got to have been Restoricom. I’m gonna go be with her.”
Mikey nodded, his head still spinning at the news since he still wasn’t completely awake. He watched as Gerard went out the front door and gracefully transformed into a crow and took off into the sky.
~
You were sitting on the curb staring at the ground, the smell of burnt wood hung in the air. Last night as you got ready for bed, you realized that in the commotion of the last few days, you phone battery had died. You plugged it in but left it off, not having the mental energy to look at it.
But once you were in bed, you couldn’t stay asleep, afraid if you closed your eyes of what you would see, whether it would be memories of what you had done, or what might lay ahead of you and you weren’t sure which scared you more. Before dawn, you decided to give up and pulled yourself out of bed. You turned on your phone and wandered downstairs as it started up.
Dozens of text message and voicemail notifications started to load and your heart began to race. You went to the text messages first, all from your landlord.
(YN), its Kenny, the police just called to report a fire at your place, are you ok?
(YN) I’m heading over to your house, I hope you’re ok!
(YN) you aren’t answering, I hope you are just busy, call me back as soon as possible!
(YN) investigators need to talk to you, get over here ASAP
(YN) your boss said you quit weeks ago with no notice, what the fuck is going on?!
You felt sick to your stomach as you listened to the voicemails from the police and your landlord. You had to get back there and deal with the wreckage. You raced back upstairs, changed clothes and grabbed Gerard’s car keys. You’d call once he was up.
Now you heard footsteps running up to you. “Hey Gerard,” you said without looking up.
“Are you ok Sugar?” he asked sitting down on the curb next to you.
“Yea, no, I don’t know,” you replied, tears stinging your eyes. “Everything I had that wasn’t at your place is gone. My car is destroyed, photos, heirlooms, everything,” you sniffled. Gerard wrapped his arm around you protectively and you rested your head against his shoulder and let all the tears fall. Gerard looked back over his shoulder at the smoldering remains, it was a total loss.
“Excuse me sir, are you Mr.. Gerard Way?”
“Yea, is there something I can do?” he asked looking up at the police officer. You felt a wave of panic wash over you, as you hadn’t gotten the chance to fill Gerard in on the story you had told them regarding your whereabouts.
“Where have you and Miss (YLN) been the last few days?”
“Up at his cabin, my phone died, and I forgot my charger! God, I already told you!” you jumped in before Gerard had a chance to respond.
“Miss (YLN),” the officer growled, frustrated that your outburst had just compromised his line of questioning. You burst out into hysterical sobs, throwing your face dramatically against Gerard’s shoulder.
“Officer, you cannot expect someone in her emotional state to be questioned like this,” Gerard said, knowing full well you were putting on a show.
“Is there anyone who can corroborate your whereabouts?”
“My brother, Mikey. I can give you his number. In the meantime, is it ok if I walk to the café around the corner and grab her a coffee?”
“Leave your phone,” the officer said. Gerard got up and pulled out his phone and gave the officer Mikey’s number.
“I’ll be right back Sugar,” he said pressing a kiss to the top of your head. You watched as he jogged around the corner and suddenly a falcon flew over, heading out of town rapidly.
You had let your sobs die down so you could overhear what the officer was saying on the phone. He had to leave a message because, just as Gerard suspected, his brother wouldn’t pick up for a number he didn’t recognize. A few minutes later Mikey called back. You could hear the officer ask him the same question that he posed to Gerard about your whereabouts.
“And where do you live sir? Oh, that far out of town. Ok, fair enough.”
A few minutes later Gerard reappeared, two coffees in hand. The officer came back and gave Gerard his phone.
“We reached your brother; he corroborated your account. You’re both free to go, we will be in touch when we find out more.”
You and Gerard made your way back to his car silently. The sun was fully up, and he could see just how tired you were, the darkest circles he’d ever seen under your eyes. You handed him back his keys and got in the passenger side.
“Sorry for stealing your car,” you said quietly.
“Its fine. Whatever you need, don’t ever hesitate to take,” he smiled wearily as he started the car. “Are you ok? Really?”
“I’m drained, but also kinda relieved. Like, it really, really feels over now. That whole chapter of my life is done,” you said taking a swing of your coffee then looked over at Gerard. “Thank you.”
He glanced back. “For what?”
“For helping me, for keeping me safe, for believing in me all along.”
Gerard smiled; weight lifted off his own heart a little hearing those words. “You don’t blame me for this?”
You scoffed. “Not for one second. You didn’t give me this ability. You didn’t create that division of Restoricom. You’re my light in all this.”
Words danced on the tip of his tongue, but he swallowed them back, instead reaching over and grabbing your hand as he drove home
“I was thinking I might throw a Halloween party,” Gerard replied after a while, breaking the silence.
You perked up. "Oh my God, is it really almost Halloween?”
“Yea, you don’t mind, do you?”
“Not at all, is my favorite,” you replied with a grin, your mood decidedly improved. This was exactly what you needed.
