Let's talk about this.
CM Punk was a bigger star than everyone else when he came in. That is 100% fact. We would be crazy to deny it. He came in on legend status, 7 years of fans wondering if they would ever see him again. That's huge and he was a big get and for the first few months, whenever we saw him it felt like a big deal. He was putting in decent matches, he was doing incredible storytelling and he was adding so much value to the company.
That didn't last long. It became apparent well before the all out media scrum that he'd very much gone into business for himself and that he'd allowed his ego to run rampant. The list of names pouring out weekly that he had pissed off just kept getting larger and larger, and no, I don't think all the issues he had were his fault but a great many of them he claimed some fault in at least.
That media scrum was the perfect example of a man whose ego has been left to go unchecked for too long, someone who has clearly decided he's better than everyone else in the room and what he has to say matters more than what anyone else does.
After that, he was no longer the name he came in with. It's surprising that seeing AEW be completely fine without him didn't humble him even a little bit because when he came back, he didn't come back with any integrity or willingness to work to make AEW better, he was clearly, again just there for himself. Maybe at this point, he was already hoping to go back to WWE, who knows, but it was apparent he wasn't there because he cared about AEW and the fans knew it. It's an interesting bit of revisionist history happening right now that apparently WWE fans either willingly or ignorantly don't know that a large collection of AEW fans wanted him gone, because they were so tired of his attitude or they sensed he didn't care about AEW like they did. AEW fans are getting straight bullied on the internet because WWE fans think they are jealous or salty he went to WWE when that, honestly, for most, couldn't be further from the truth.
Of course he doesn't rate the top AEW guys highly, his actions for the entire time he was there showed that he didn't care that this was more than a job for them, this was a dream to put American pro-wrestling on the map again, this was a chance for wrestlers who dont fit the mould to do what they love on a huge stage. (Not a knock on WWE, by the way. They aren't wrestling. They specifically do not brand themselves as such.)
As for the WWE guys in AEW waiting to go back, they should be released. Let them go back. There seems to be this fear that if AEW releases talent that clearly wants to go back to WWE that it's a loss. It shouldn't be, they clearly don't have the companies best interests in mind, and if AEW is going to survive, it need people who believe in it 100%
AEW needs to refocus and they desperately need a restructure. They need more women in leadership for one. They need someone who can keep the egos in check but most importantly they need to remind themselves who they are and why they were so special to begin with. They have always been about heart, and wrestling, and having something to say, and passion. Some of that's been lost this year.
I firmly believe they will find it again, but I think the key is to move on, and keep grinding. Keep putting in work that silences the naysayers and is something to be proud of. I honestly wouldn't even mention Punk ever again, I'd literally scrub him and if the few friends he has left there don't understand why, I'd be asking them if they believe in what's best for AEW or what's best for them.
Anyways, here's a quick list of AEW stars that could carry the company on their back tomorrow and would smoke CM Punk on his best day.
- HANGMAN ADAM PAGE
- Orange Cassidy
- Ricky Starks
- Trent Bereta
- Wheeler Yuta
- Daniel Garcia
- Kris Statlander
- Hikaru Shida
- Julia Hart
- Willow
- Skye Blue
- Eddie Kingston
- Wardlow
- Bandito
- Konosuke Takeshita
- Kyle Fletcher
- Penta
- MAXWELL JACOB FRIEDMAN
(Edit: Darby Allin was originally on this list, I was not aware of his previous SA history with his ex or his alleged behaviours toward homeless people in his past. I'm genuinely sorry if anyone was hurt or offended by this.)

So you're telling me that Catherine dove off a literal cliff into the ocean and managed to retrieve a tiny, surprisingly not-that-breakable, little vial-slash-tube-slash-cylinder-thing........... FROM THE OCEAN?!?!?
Be so for real right now.

Dazai and chuuya both being such fucked up kids with fucked up pasts when they met has me wondering did they really hate each other? Honestly these two children had suffered their entire lives before meeting their opposite (each other). I think they disliked each other in the beginning esp chuuya lol. But over time they realize that its actually not so bad being around their partner, in fact they might just be the only other person they could truly trust.

Saturday, December 11, 1979. Magic Eight Ball.
They're sitting on the couch, watching The Price Is Right. Just like they used to do, when, out of the blue...
"Do you love him?"
Jackie feigns obliviousness. "Who?"
"You know who."
She pauses for a moment. She should say yes, but she's been trying to convince herself for the past month. "I don't know. My stupid list said I should, but..."
Instead, she recoils at the thought of a candy-smeared kiss. His nasty cologne. His sleazy smile...
Hyde interrupts her imminent nightmare, with some brutal honesty. "You don't."
"You should shave off that pornstache," Jackie readily deflects, "It's even worse than the beard."
He feigns a smirk. "I like that it pisses you off."
"It's for your own good, Ste...Hyde." She glares at him. He looks ridiculous. "You look like white...well, half white, trash."
"Maybe that's what I am."
He deserves the daunting moniker, just like Bud and Edna. He's called her everything in the book. Most notably, Point Place's sluttiest slut. He knows how to make her writh in pain, and many, many times, she's hidden her troubled tears.
He awkwardly clears her throat, removing his shades. "I've treated you like trash, but that's just an act. You know that."
"Fezzie has too." Now, her amber eyes are brimmed with tears. Once again, for a different reason. "He says I'm ugly on the outside, and the inside. Why does everyone hate me?"
"I don't know." He's made his bed, and now he has to lie in it. And he has to push her away. He doesn't deserve her, at all. Nobody does. "You deserve better than Fez. And better than me, too."
After a moment of stunned silence, he continues to stun. "Run for the hills, grasshopper."
"That's what you did after Chicago, and look what you did." I didn't sleep with Michael, and you know that. "You know, I didn't..."
"I know, but the damn thought of you and..." He trails off, turning off the television. "Fuck, I just needed time away. Thought a vacation to Vegas would do the trick."
Jackie loudly scoffs, with the dismissive laugh her mother taught her how to perfect. It was the only good thing her mother ever taught her, in fact.
Maybe I should run away, just like her. I have a really, really good reason. "It didn't."
Leaving him with words that cut like a million little knives, she sashays away.

Merlin rewatch -- S1E6: A Remedy to Cure All Ills
Gaius is the worst (part 2)
Now, About Gaius and Merlin's interaction.
Unlike the last episode, in which I also had some issues with Gaius but could still appreciate their father-son emotional moment, the scene before Gaius took off in this episode just irritated me to no end.
Merlin was saying how much Gaius had guided him and how much he still needed him. Did he though?? Gaius wasn't good at magic so he could only give Merlin books. That's why Merlin was so tempted by Edwin. As for the " right way of using magic", Gaius only taught him not to use magic unless it was necessary i.e. saving Arthur and Uther.
At the beginning of the episode, Gaius prohibited using magic to heal Morgana. He used the incident with Gwen's father as an example, but the situation was totally different. At the time the illness was caused by magic, everyone was ill, plus witch-hunting was active. This time it’s only Morgana and it’s a (seemingly) nonmagical illness, so Gaius could easily make up stories without causing suspicion.
That in itself is fine. I can see that it isn't good to do whatever you like because you have the power. There could also be risks of failure since Gaius didn't seem to know the cause of the illness.
But then at the end when Uther was under the same situation, Gaius half-forced Merlin to heal him! It was way more probable for Uther to be suspicious since he knew Edwin was a sorcerer now. Merlin said it. " We can't use magic on Uther. He'd kill us." And what did Gaius say to him?
" We don’t have a choice." (In fact, we have. We can let Uther die and take one step towards destiny. Also, Gwen just told you we always had a choice. So there's that. )
" There are times when it’s necessary.”(Necessary only for you because for some reason you love Uther so much.)
" It is your right" (What does that even mean?? He didn't have the right as far as the law was concerned. He didn't have the obligation either as far as destiny was concerned since it only told him to serve Arthur, who was almost nonexistent in this ep... )
I know he told the dragon that he thought it was too soon for Arthur to lead, but I didn't see any indication from previous episodes. I did, however, see a lot of indications of Gaius' devotion to Uther in this episode alone, so Gaius' words just seemed like selfish excuses.
I know that Gaius can be a grey character and Merlin can still love him, but since they (mostly Merlin) are our eyes to examine the moral in the show, Gaius is always regarded as a wise and good character. It's the most frustrating part.

Levi is kneeling before you on the floor of the tub, cool porcelain against his knees as water rushes from the shower head high above to dance across your shoulders, barely spraying his bare skin. One of your is legs looped over his shoulder, supported by a firm grip on your upper thigh. Razor in hand, he slowly and methodically runs the sharp blade down the length of your leg. Again and again. Each swipe is soft, diligent, his silvery eyes following each glide from your upper thigh all the way to your ankle. His eyes are tight in concentration, lips pursed. He doesn't want to miss a single hair. The sheer intimacy of the act makes his heart throb with buzzing joy. He wants the job to be perfect. For you.
