I was reading the first couple officially published translated volumes of MHA and I noticed Iida and Uraraka have a LOT of cute/sweet little scenes together in a relatively short space of time. (how amused she is by his seriousness, him rubbing her back when she threw up, desperately reaching across a panicking crowd to touch hands so she can make him float, etc)
IDK kacchako gets way more shit than it deserves and the arguments that it’s like, immoral are dumb, but I also believe iidachako is way more likely to be made canon if Deku end up single/not with Uraraka at the end of the series. Uraraka and Iida have a well-built up sweet relationship, and I think it’d also be easy to just later write Iida as always secretly having a thing for her, but keeping it to himself because he felt he didn’t deserve her after not helping her at the UA entrance exam. IDK I just think it’s interesting that their dynamic actually has a lot of development and build-up, and if izuchako weren’t such a overt romantic subplot, a bunch of the audience would probably assume Uraraka and Iida were strongly implied love interests like Kaminari and Jiro.
EDIT: grammar. MAN I was sleepy when I wrote this.
