IM LATE BUT LIKE WHATEVER i just decided im gonna try and commit to @steddie-week so DAY 1: somebody to love by queen

when steve and eddie first tell the party about their relationship, a lot of them are a little confused. especially nancy. at first glance, the pair makes no sense at all.

steve is a soft soul that really enjoys basketball. he was a jock in high school, and doesn't really have any higher ambition in life than to make enough money to live and be with his loved ones. his favourite artists are the likes of tears for fears and abba. the hobbies he's most committed to are baking sweet treats and watching reality tv with claudia henderson.

and then there's eddie, who in a lot of ways is the antithesis to that.

he almost exclusively wears dark clothes that look three days away from falling apart, he despises sport. he was an outcast in high school, and even though he barely made it to graduation (a few years later than he should've) he is full to the brim of ideas and big ambitions. he's pretentious about music, hates pop and loves metal music. and he's a nerd.

they don't have much in common, so nancy's surprised they work as friends let alone as a couple. then again, she doesn't know eddie too well past what she's already said.

so her and a lot of the party don't really get it at first. until they're having a party over summer break, and everyone's out in the hopper-byers backyard watching hopper grill burgers for everyone and there's music playing through speakers somewhere.

the younger party members are all excitedly chatting amongst themselves, and the teens are sat leaning back on the grass. eddie and steve aren't cuddling for once, settling for linking pinkies as they lean back on their hands.

the song that was playing ends, and a new song starts. freddie mercury's voice starts singing, and nancy doesn't think she's ever seen steve move so fast in all her years of knowing him.

"can anybody find me somebody to love?"

freddie mercury is barely on the second word of that first line when steve and eddie's heads whip around to be facing each other. twin grins are on their faces, and they've jumped up together by the time the first line's over. steve seems to lose steam as he realises a lot of the party are now looking at them incredulously, and his cheeks suddenly have a red tint to them.

eddie immediately grabs steve's hands and starts dramatically serenading him. if nancy thought eddie was a little dramatic from overhearing mike retelling hellfire club anecdotes, she thinks he's extremely dramatic now she's seen his antics in the flesh.

he's gently swinging his and steve's hands as he encourages steve to dance with him. steve just smiles at his boyfriend, a little shy and a lot fond, but eddie's not put off in the slightest. he keeps gently pulling at steve's hands until steve gives in and starts moving to the music with him.

by the time the first verse is over, steve's almost as into it as eddie is, and nancy has never steve like this.

"i work hard, every day of my life." eddie sings along loudly, and steve sings the other part.

"he works hard." he sings softly with a smile.

his confidence amps up as the song goes on, and his dance moves get more and more ridiculous and less restrained as eddie encourages him and laughs with him as they sing. by the time it gets to the instrumental break, the entire party is watching them with smiles and singing along in some way.

the steve nancy dated would never be caught dead doing something like this, but here current steve is, back to back with eddie as they both dramatically play the air guitar. nancy looks toward robin to see if she's as shocked as she is at this display. but robin is just rolling her eyes, like she sees antics like this on the daily. she shakes her head at something dustin says to her, and then yells at the couple.

"i thought you promised to stop doing this every time this song came on?" she tries to look annoyed as she yells over the song, but fails massively.

steve stops his dramatics for a second, and points at her dramatically.

"you asking us to do that is exactly why i am doing this in front of everyone." he claims, and gets a (subtle, because everyone respects joyce) middle finger in return from robin.

"his pettiness knows no bounds, buckley, you should know this! you can only take so much of the mean girl out of the jock." eddie adds on, and that gets the pair another middle finger.

steve throws his head back as he laughs, and nancy smiles at him. he looks a lot happier than she's seen him in a long time. probably happier than she's ever seen him, actually.

"find me, find me, find me love."

as the last little bit of the song plays out, and steve and eddie dramatically fall on top of robin to dog pile her, nancy decides that maybe steve and eddie do make sense.

even in seemingly polar opposites, there is common ground.

You're a pretty famous foreign artist and currently on tour. You were looking forward to going to Korea since it has been a dream ever since you became big in the industry. When you were finally there, you took a whole day to explore and have fun before you started making preparations for your upcoming concert.

You're having some snacks in a café and when you looked out the window, you saw a girl with curly hair along with other women. They seem to be a group of friends who are having fun but you can't stop thinking about the tall one. She's way too cute, very much your type but it's a shame that you'll only be in Korea for a few days before you move to Japan as it's part of your tour. You sighed and pouted a bit, your own thoughts making you sad that you didn't even notice they entered the café you're at until someone from their group approached you with a very happy grin which made you feel happy as well as their smile is contagious.

"Hi Y/N, I'm Mini and I'm a huge fan.. Do you mind if I ask for a picture with you?" the girl, or Mini asked.

"Hiii oh my goodness. I don't mind at all!" you happily said. You took pictures together and she even asked you to sign her phone case, which you did. You invited them to your table to chitchat and get to know her and her friends since that's what you're known for by your fans. You always find time to sit and chat with them.

You learned that they're pretty famous as a crew of dancers and they even invited you to dance with them if you have free time that got you feeling giddy from pure excitement. Haechi couldn't help but be amazed at how beautiful, kind and humble you are. You're this famous artist but you're talking to them like you're just a regular, nothing special kind of person.

"Your hair is so pretty.. I wanted to have that but my manager said no. Still salty about it." Haechi's brain seemed to have stopped working when you complimented her hair. She was smiling like an idiot while a soft blush crept its way to her cheeks that got her team smiling in a knowing fashion as they watched their youngest blush even at the simplest compliment from you.

You hang out with Wolf'lo for the rest of the day, they were nice enough to show you around and they even teach you some basic korean words that you could use to interact with your fans at your concert. You wanted to invite them as your guest acts at your concert but they won't be able to perform due to them competing in a dance competition. You were a bit saddened but they promised to attend your concert so you gave them backstage passes then you parted ways with them since your manager will personally whop your ass if you didn't go back to the hotel you're staying at.

You and Haechi would constantly message each other on instagram whenever you're free. You enjoyed every second you spent talking to her and you even developed a crush on her though you constantly try and remind yourself that you're just staying over her country for a few days so it's not possible for you two to date unless she's in to long distance. You just basked in the attention you're receiving from her.

Unbeknownst to you, Haechi has been feeling the same. Talking to you has been the highlight of her day. She absolutely loved the messaging you, just getting to know you better. Her team has been teasing her for days regarding how close she is becoming to you, some even going as far as telling her to just fess up and ask you for a date before you go off.

The day of your concert came and you were very anxious backstage. You don't know how the Korean crowd will react to your performance and because you just love stressing yourself out by overthinking.

"Hey Y/N!" Haechi waved at you and you couldn't help but blush because one, she looks so cool and hot in her outfit and second, you have realized that you're definitely crushing on her.

"Hiiii I'm so glad you could make it! Where are the others?" you asked and she gave you a hug that calmed your nerves a little bit but got your heart racing from a different feeling that's far from the anxiety of having to perform onstage.

"I wouldn't miss this for the world. Mini and the others will be a little late. Think they're stuck at traffic.." Haechi says and you smiled, nodding your head. You wanted to chat with her some more but you were called by your director, telling you that you're gonna be on stage in a minute. You don't know what came over you but you gave Haechi a kiss on the cheek before running off. Haechi was left there stunned, blushing and holding her cheek which still has your lipstick mark on it. She smiled like an idiot as she saw you run off.

The concert was a blast and you're having so much fun. Performing and then seeing your fans enjoying themselves is what keeps you going. Halfway through the concert, you grabbed your guitar and asked for a chair so you can play more comfortably. You added this little number the last minute so nobody from the audience anticipated it.

"So uhm.. I'm gonna play a song. Well it's not one of mine but from Ms. Taylor Swift. I just wanna play it to get some feelings out of my chest." you spoke and there was a series of 'awww' and little squeals of excitement as you began to play Enchanted on your guitar. All you could think about while singing the song is Haechi, the bittersweet feeling of liking her but you couldn't tell her since you're only there for a limited number of days then you're also not sure if she likes you or not.

"Please don't be in love with someone else, please don't have somebody waiting on you.." at that point, you weren't just singing anymore. You're sat there, trying to tell her how you feel and just hoping that maybe she feels the same way as you do.

You continued singing and Haechi couldn't help but feel mesmerized by how good you are and how pretty.. She's just so mesmerized by you. She could swear that her heart broke and melted at the same time when you looked at her as you sang. She could feel every emotion you've put into that song. She wanted to go up there, hug you and hold you close and assure you that she's not in love with someone else but then again, you're this famous star. You're from different backgrounds and she feels like you're meant for someone greater than her.

When you were done with the concert, you immediately ran backstage but was disappointed that Haechi wasn't there anymore. You changed into more comfortable clothes before you hang out with your new found friends and did some pictures with some fans. Maybe it really wasn't meant to be, you and Haechi are not meant to be together. It hurts a bit but you accepted it. Maybe it's for the best.

It was the last night before you're about to head off to another country. You're just packing your stuff and listening to music, you don't really feel like going out since you're a bit sad about leaving and not being able to tell Haechi directly about your feelings or going out on a date with her. You still talk to her but you feel kinda awkward now and just very down.

You were so lost in your own thoughts that you didn't notice someone was knocking on your door until you heard the third set of knocks. You quickly got up and peeked through the peephole to see Haechi, looking nervous as heck. You panicked a bit, you wanted to scream and cry and just hide but you opened the door for her before she can knock again. You looked at her, confused and she looked back at you, a relieved smile on her face before pulling you in for an embrace.

"Thank goodness you're still here.. Chocol and the others told me you're already leaving.." she says, her voice cracking and you rubbed her back gently before guiding her inside. It broke your heart seeing Haechi sad but you couldn't help but feel hope bubble inside you because she came to see you on your last night in her country. It got your hopes up that maybe, just maybe, she feels something for you as well.

"Well I'm actually just packing my stuff. I have to leave to go to the airport at 10 am tomorrow." you told her and she frowned, holding both your hands and kissing your knuckles. She held your hands like she didn't want to let you go.

"I know that there's not enough time for us. You're leaving for your tour and I'm not that selfish to stop you from leaving.. But Y/N I couldn't stop thinking about you. Ever since we met at the café, and especially when you kissed my cheek before your concert. It took every ounce of self restraint to not run up to the stage, hug you, kiss you and assure you that I'm not in love with someone else.. That I'm only in love with you but I was scared. Fear got to me so I left instead. I mean, you're this famous star with so many people lining up to date you and I'm just this dancer from South Korea. You deserve so much better.." Haechi finally confessed and you were stunned for a moment. All this time Haechi was also into you?

You cupped Haechi's cheeks and placed a kiss on her lips. It was soft, it was wonderful but it's also bittersweet. You're sharing your first kiss the night before your scheduled leave. You pulled away and rubbed your thumb on her cheek, smiling.

"If you can just wait for me until the end of this tour, I will come back for you.. I wanna give us a chance, I really do. But if you can't wait for me that long, I'll understand. But know this, what I feel for you is real.. I'm in love with you, Haechi." you told her and she nods, placing a kiss on your lips before embracing you.

"No, wait for me instead. I'm just gonna finish my prior commitments here then I'm gonna follow you where you go. I wanna be with you, no matter how far that is. As long as I'm with you then I'm gonna be okay." she told you, her eyes sincere and you nodded. She spent the night at your hotel room, just you and her cuddling together until sleep claimed both of you in its sweet embrace. Haechi went with you to the airport and before you went off with your team, you ran to her and gave her a kiss. You couldn't care less about people seeing, you don't really care what people are gonna say. All you cared about it Haechi and the love you have for each other. You smiled at her and she kissed your forehead before ushering you to go. You didn't say goodbye because you know for a fact that you're gonna see her again.

It’s not particularly unheard of, being able to lie and being able to be good at it.

You’re not sure why or how you managed to avoid the questions about your past, about where you came from. But you know, ever since you got adopted by Dina into this merry band of misfits, that someone has been watching you. More precisely, you know Ellie’s been watching, and waiting, oh-so patiently, to figure you out. It's as unnerving as it is amusing. 

Transferring from your hometown’s university to this new one in a new city wasn't even the hardest part. Uprooting your life and leaving everything you had? That was a breeze. A walk in the park, even. Making friends, though? Trusting people enough to let them get close? A toughie. You didn't want to just dump your life story onto these people you didn't know. You cut yourself off everytime you mentioned your parents, smiling tight-lipped and awkward when Dina and Jesse gave you a sympathetic look. Ellie would observe you quietly, her eyebrows furrowed as if trying to solve a puzzle. You try not to think too much about how persistent she is.

You give new details every now and then, like how you used to play volleyball, or how you and your ex-girlfriend used to hide in the local mall till way after it closed. It’s nights like that when everyone seems more comfortable, like you're opening up to them, which you are, but not enough to really say they know you well. You try, though. Ellie never stops being observant, especially when you mention your ex, but you try to be forthcoming. 

It’s been five or so months since you first arrived in the city, a cozy little collegetown that is every lesbian’s dream. There are cafes on pretty much every street; one in particular is your usual choice. It’s where you go to hide from Dina’s persistent gaze, begging you to go out with them if only for a night. It’s not exactly your vibe, and you tell her as much, but she insists it must be because it’s Ellie’s vibe, too. Dina, more than anyone, likes to say that you and Ellie are the most alike and the most opposite. If Ellie likes a place, you usually do, too. You’ll never be caught dead going somewhere Ellie wouldn’t. But then again, Ellie has a fascination with space, but your special interest is the ocean. Ellie likes 80s jams and you prefer indie. Ellie likes Cat, and you– Well. You don’t. 

It’s not anything crazy, really, you just are very indifferent to her. Whether or not you’ll admit to it, Ellie is attractive, objectively speaking. You might have a bit of a crush. Nothing more. Cat is a nice girl, a good artist, and a lovely companion, you’re sure. Seeing them so cozy just leaves a sour taste in your mouth, which is why–

“Yeah, I think I’ll pass.” You mumble, glancing over at Cat who is draped over Ellie’s shoulder. Jesse pauses, following your gaze, and snorts. It’s not a big secret you have an interest in Ellie. You’re human, for fucks sake. So, it’s not a surprise that Jesse and Dina eventually caught on.

“Yeah, well, Dina says you can’t bail this time. Birthday girl privileges and all that.” 

You sigh, becoming increasingly annoyed. It’s fair, you know, for Dina to pull the “It’s my birthday!” card. Plus, you have bailed more times than you care to remember, and okay, yeah, maybe it’d be nice to dress up and drink and dance– 

“Yeah, whatever. I’ll go.” 

Your utter defeat is followed by Jesse cheering, fist pumped into the air. Dina hurries over, her hands full of caffeinated beverages. Ellie looks up from her journal to see what’s going on. You catch her eye, but turn towards Dina before the air gets sucked out of your lungs from looking at her too long.

“She said yes, didn’t she? Oh, thank fucking God, I knew she would!” She squeals, placing down the cups and clapping her hands. She barrels into you soon after, wrapping her arms around your neck, and you wrap one of your own around her waist, steadying her. 

“Yeah, yeah,” you smile, your chin tucked over her shoulder, “I’m the best, no doubt.” 

She pulls back, and drops a big kiss on your cheek, leaning on you. Ellie watches, entranced seemingly, and eyes your hand that is flush against Dina’s waist. You watch her, a fluttering in your stomach at the interest. She meets your eyes after a moment, raising an eyebrow at you, her cheeks a very pale pink. A small smirk dances on your lips, and you vaguely register that you’re pleased.

That’s new. 

After some time, everyone disperses and heads to their own apartments. You and Ellie are actually neighbors, and you are especially relieved that Cat decided to head back to her own home instead of following after Ellie. You both walk towards the building, your hand wrapped around the shoulder strap to your bag, the sun setting behind you both. 

“So,” Ellie says, cutting into the silence, looking over at you, “Finally decided to join us, did ya?” 

You glance over at her, noticing the amused grin on her lips, the crinkles near her eyes. You huff out a breath, smiling back.

“Well, can’t say no to the birthday girl, can I?”

She hums in agreement, nodding her head. There’s not much you two talk about very frequently; Cat isn’t the biggest fan of letting Ellie out of arm's reach and it’s not like you two are close enough to just hang out by yourselves. You both need that buffer; the excuse of a group setting. Soon, you hope that changes, but can’t realistically see that happening. She clears her throat, suddenly nervous.

“Listen, I told the others, but I thought you should know, too.” She pauses, her pace slowing, and you slow with her. Your eyebrows furrow, and you look at her with concern. She twists her fingers, a nervous habit, and lets out a breath. You follow the motion, then meet her eyes. She offers a small, timid grin. 

“I dumped Cat before we all left the cafe.” 

You still. It must be true; Ellie and Cat had disappeared right before the group had left the building. You figured, of course, that they must’ve been saying their goodbyes privately, as to not flaunt their love. You nod in realization, tilting your head side to side, trying not to scream “finally!” right in Ellie’s face.

“I’m sorry about that,” you say instead, though you’re not really sorry at all, because Cat was definitely a bit much at times, even without your little crush on Ellie. She shrugs in response, chuckling a little.

“Nothin’ to be sorry about. Figured it was about time.” 

Could say that again.

“Yeah, well, I don’t know you all that well,” you say, resuming your walk with her, your eyes moving to look forward instead of at her. “I didn’t wanna overstep. Didn’t seem like you were all that happy half the time, but then again, the fuck do I know?” 

Ellie hums again in response, choosing not to say anything as you both start making your way into the apartment complex. You start climbing the stairs, Ellie following close behind, and this is when she decides to speak. 

“I get it, but I figured we could change that.” The statement makes you miss a step, because you know, deep down, that getting to know Ellie more is dangerous territory. That it’s everything you want, and probably not the best idea. Ellie is… charming. Enticing. Hot as fuck. Being friends with her would make your feelings more real, and while it makes you sick, it excites you, too.

Ellie’s arms shoot out so she can grab your hips, pulling you back before you eat shit on the stairs. She steps up one, her chest against the back of your shoulder, her fingertips pressing into your skin. You swallow, then let out a harsh breath through your nose, the adrenaline from almost falling and the fact that Ellie is grabbing you so tight and close almost too much to bear.

“You alright?” She murmurs, her voice a gentle rumble. Your ears burn up, and you nod. Ellie’s hands slip away from your hips and you take the last few steps, leaning against the door of your apartment. Ellie follows suit, but stands closer to her own door, right across from yours. 

“I’m peachy,” you finally reply, smiling tight lipped. Ellie snorts, nodding.

actually thats why ive been censoring swears in comics lately because the tmnt fandom comes across to me as a little young...IDK I've had MULTIPLE people ask me what "sodomize" means because of the joke in this post and I'm like... I Cannot be the one to explain this to you. you have to look it up on your own klfsdhsdg like i wouldn't be doing this if i were doing a comic for mgs or even homestuck wherein the characters textually swear constantly LOL but sometimes u gotta change tacks depending on the faces u see in the crowd yknow.

i HAVE been thinking abt drawing nsfw of sunspot/richard rider/kobak from x-men red just because that comic seemed to be really asking for it. who knows.. if the need rly arises maybe my separate account policy will change.

its rly more a matter of the fact that i havent read/watched much of any other iterations... im sure id like most lol. I like most things related to my interests regardless of quality. i rly like the marvel ultimate alliance games for instance. sometimes seeing my fave guy is enough he doesnt have to be well written LOL. i dont exactly have a wealth of free time tho thats the real impediment.

i did watch the 2007 movie on new years eve and found it quite charming overall. and i have read about 30-40 issues between the mirage and idw comics. still feels like im barely scratching the surface but i liked em. i rly want to read all the sophie campbell stuff bc i think her work is interesting. jason aaron will be a mixed bag i think lmao. i say as the worlds biggest Wolverine and the X-Men (2011) fan.

hmm this is kinda hard bc i feel like i naturally draw very loose and the hard part for me is tightening it up. maybe some suggestions tho...

1) hand excercises. i think its easy to forget this when many artists sit in front of the computer all day but drawing is a physical activity u do with ur actual...bodys...muscles lol. if u feel urself tightening up it might help to strech (any google search for "artist hand excercises" should yield good results) or do a page of loose practice strokes like..big circles. long lines. scribbles. that kinda thing. whatever feels good for ur hand. this is also just good to do as a general warm up before u sit down for any drawing sesh.

2) draw further away from the canvas. as a general rule...when ur painting traditionally you do the big strokes with your whole arm outstreched and a long handled brush. and when you do the details its smaller wrist movements and a shorter handled brush. so it might help to take a step back or push back from ur chair a little.. or hold ur tablet a little further away. and hold your pen further away from the nib.

3) change mediums / brush types. some brushes and mediums are more suited to loose sketching and some more inclined towards detail work. so changing ur tool could help. also! i personally have this problem where sometimes if im using a brush i feel really familiar with the pressure to make a "good" "finished" "perfect" drawing is greater... if i want to force myself to loosen up ill switch to a tool i dont use as often so it feels like the pressure is off. a lot of times for me this is switching from digital to traditional. but sometimes its switching from a small pen to a big marker. or a smooth pen to a textured one. or a nice brush to a shitty dried up marker.

but also every body is different so i dont think these tips will work for everyone. u should listen to what ur body and mind tell u and how drawing feels to you

well. scott mcclouds understanding comics and making comics are good books on the craft. i think i had to buy them for a class in art school once.

other than that idk just keep at it. comics are really laborious i think for a lot of people the hardest part is sitting down and doing it.

i think a lot of people have a very instinctive understanding of how to read comics and what they look like so whatever you think seems like good way to tell the story you have in mind, its probably right. if u get stuck, study comics that have done something similar. most people in comics are relatively self taught and actually it can be problematic bc you can tell when a lot of comic artists are all copying the same like 5 old white guys LMAO. but on the flip side if you make sure to reference and study broadly your comics will almost assuredly feel unique.

sorry im responding to this anyways. this is just a really nice ask. i like when people reference my older work bc i feel like sometimes theyre subtly implying it wasnt very good LMAOOO. but its true! at least compared to the work i make now ^^ and the fact that im still making art is whats keeping me from being embarassed abt how much of my old art just floats around online lmao im never ashamed to be growing and learning. isnt that a nice thought <3

I dont believe anything from anonymous sources, especially on deuxmoi but i watched the tiktok and didn't believe it at all because she didn't show any proof of him/his security trying to get a girls number but then someone in the replies claimed they saw two girls backstage (with no proof again lol) the only thing that made me question it even a little is the girl posted another tiktok saying the same girls were at the show and even showed a picture of harrys bodyguard (paddy i think is his name) talking to two girls before the show started. I still don't believe harry was trying to get anybodys number while on stage but im just confused on why paddy was in the audience talking to the fans? unless it's just people he knows and not this made-up story fans are spreading.

Hi sugar. I’m just going to address this message because I have a ton in my inbox about this topic, but I think this is just one of those things that is a giant game of telephone with each new person adding some layer of “oh, and I know this thing” and “yes I saw this other thing” but there’s no proof of any of it.

So, first of all, the girl making the videos seemed pretty normal to me. She didn’t seem to be making any of it up. She clearly said in her videos that Harry’s name was never used, it was a security guard who said “I’ll let you know where they’ll be” (or something to that effect). It sounds to me like some sort of after party and Harry’s name was never used (although, easy enough to assume they thought H would be there). In the second video, the two girls were at the second show and told the friend of the person making the video that they didn’t go to meet up with them, and there was a photo of two women talking to Paddy.

So, we all know that the entourage and crew of literally every musician uses their proximity to the star to get laid. It’s been documented countless times from every shitty bar band through tons of big name artists (including One Direction). There are rumors of the artists’ friends hooking up with girls, rumors of bodyguards and bouncers and roadies and producers hooking up with girls… it’s endless. So… given that it was Paddy they were talking to on the second night, I wouldn’t be in the least surprised if he was the one who saw them and got their numbers in the hopes of getting them to come to some after party. They were right at the barricade, so I don’t think it’s that odd that Paddy would talk to them.

I just think of all the confirmed things we’ve ever heard about Harry doing or saying (from endless amounts of people), and the consistent way we’ve seen him behave over the last dozen or so years — towards people in general, but also very much his attitude towards women — I just don’t think any of that sort of this fuck boy image is true. This doesn’t even have to do with Louis or whether they’re together or whether H has slept with lots of different people or even with me thinking he’s gay. To me, he just has always given off a very specific kind of energy that just isn’t consistent with the kind of person who points out girls in the audience to be brought to him. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So the bottom line is, I don’t believe anything DeuxMoi or The Daily Mail says. And all these anonymous unsubstantiated stories sound pretty ridiculous to me.

personality: to sum it up nicely, i never ever shut up. im very loud and extroverted. (the only exception to this is if I’m tired, then i go dead quiet.) humour is a big thing for me to be able to get on with someone. i have a very very strong moral code. i have a tendency to jump straight to people’s rescue if i see something wrong and I’m told that sometimes that gets me into more trouble than it’s worth. i try to be optimistic but i can be a massively emotional drama queen so it occasionally does fail tbh. i don’t exactly like bothering people with my problems either. im a creative person first and foremost. however, i have some “theoretical” intelligence yet completely, totally lack common sense. if you believe anything to do with star signs you will not be surprised to know im a sagittarius ‘:D

i don’t think i have a specific type. im not physically affectionate with friends but definitely would be with a partner. i like someone who knows how to flirt a little, maybe? and just like someone caring because kindness is such a huge thing for me.

I usually go about designing characters that are fairly easy for me to draw over and over. if i get stressed out drawing this oc simply standing, i wont enjoy drawing them in other stuff. I also like to give myself little "treats" while drawing. for example: for Cherie, i really like drawing her chubby face, heart blush, and big cute eyes. for Selena, ive been having so much fun drawing her hair and playing with gravity with it (like when the wind blows her front hair sways hehe).

I also make sure their personalities are enjoyable to read as much as possible. for amazo, he's a goofy hero who tries his absolute best to be the hero the city needs him to be and the partner Steven needs him to be but there's always an internal struggle between balancing the two and he's so critical of himself when he can't do it all. this tells the reader that he's got a very strict moral compass and he's very selfless but knows how to liven the mood and is very creative in how he entertains others and himself. I made Selena for the "Amazo-era" because his pursuit of control and her pursuit of chaos and goofs compliment each other perfectly storytelling-wise.

also I try to limit what i describe so bluntly bc its so much more fun to learn about a character through storytelling like comics, fics, etc. because the reader gets the chance to understand this character like unfolding a mystery and it's very enjoyable. im sure if she-ra released a bunch of infodumping character sheets before we saw the show, we probably wouldn't have cared bc we wouldn't have gotten to understand her complex character through the relationships and struggles she forms and faces in the show. humans like putting together pieces! we are a species that likes solving puzzles a LOT. i have an amazing friend that i infodump to and i love them so much <3 that way the readers can discover the characters themselves but u can still give into the infodumping urge LOL

funny enough drawing your oc in a bunch of different situations will make u a better artist sometimes even unknowingly xD if u look at my art before and after i started drawing amazo like everyday, you'd see MAJOR improvement xD i had no idea that was happening bc i was just goofin' and drawing whatever but it really helped!

My name is Ali. I’m 5’4” with long brown hair and blue eyes. I have two tattoos currently, and plan on getting some more! My favorite tattoo is a watercolor sunflower on my right inner forearm! Sunflowers hold such a significance to me as I love how they always stand tall and reach for the light.

Speaking of flowers, I am a big lover of nature. It grounds me and makes me feel at peace. I can be a little anxious at times so I love going for walks and seeing sunsets and being physically active. I also am an avid hiker. In the past couple of years, I have been to Wyoming and Montana and hiked Grand Teton and Glacier National Parks. I love the mountains so much and plan on making more trips!!

I love to travel. I’m quite adventurous, and love to explore different cultures and countries. So far, I’ve been to Austria, Czech Republic, and Costa Rica. I love learning and reading about different languages and cultures, and have dabbled in speaking some Spanish! I also am a huge English nerd, and am a 7-12 English teacher! I love to pass down my passions for reading and exploring different perspectives to my students.

I also am a huge lover of music. I have been Musical my whole life. I have played the piano since I was six and have been singing pretty much since I could speak. I was involved in choir all throughout high school and did and have a love for theatre as well. I also LOVE going to concerts and exploring different genres. My favorite is folk/acoustic. I have a whole folk playlist which I’m so proud of with artists such as Fleet Foxes, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, John Denver, and so many more artists that mean the world to me. Folk music just matches my energy and soul, very calm and deep and meaningful. I would love to be able to share my thoughts about this kind of music with someone.

As for my personality, I’m definitely an old soul type of person. I’m more ambiverted. I can be extroverted when I want to be, but also am introverted and need to recharge sometimes. I’m a Capricorn Sun, Taurus Moon, Scorpio Rising. I’m definitely hard working, independent, and ambitious, but also extremely sensitive and emotional as well. I think I’d ideally want someone similar to me in that we are both independent, but who can take care of one another and be soft at the same time. I’ve definitely been the “mom friend” my whole life, and to have someone match that energy would be glorious and mean the world to me.

Nature is also a place of worship for Josh. I could see the both of you spending most of your days basking in it. Whether is lounging in the sun or planing a day of outdoor activities to keep you busy, all that matters is your outside! I could see you and Josh deciding to buy a property outside of Nashville…. Getting out of the hustle and bustle. The selling point on the property would be the sun rise and sun set visibility. Every morning Josh would wake up to enjoy the sun rise while he meditates on the front porch. And every evening, the two of you would walk the fence line and soak up the sun set. A precious time for the both of you to spend with one another.

Josh would undoubtedly be your travel buddy! His appreciation and curiosity for different cultures and ways of life runs so deep. He is such a sponge for it all, so when researching it becomes stale…. He has to experience it for himself. Plane ticket is bought, bags are packed, and you guys are on your way!!!! Also, Josh would love the fact that you are a teacher. Clearly there are a lot of role models in his life that are teachers. I think he has such a soft spot for them. They are building the foundation for new generations. After all, we do not live forever, and so we must raise coming generations with love, kindness, and acceptance. I’m certain that is a huge goal for you as a teacher, Josh would agree and be so proud of you for that.

Sounds like Josh would also be proud of his lady’s music taste too!!! You have immaculate taste! Folk seems to be right up Josh’s alley (even if he says Danny draws the most inspiration from it) I could see you dancing to Fleet Foxes in the kitchen at 3 am. The dim glow of a night light sparkling in his eyes as he admires you. He’d plant a soft kiss on your lips and tuck his head into your neck. I know he’d also be attracted to your musical abilities. No doubt the two of you would station yourselves at the piano and play off each others talent. I easily imagine you guys improving a tune and it sticking with him. So much so that when their new album comes out, you can hear a familiar tune in the background of the forth track.

A self proclaimed old soul is so in line with Josh. If you haven’t heard, he’s such a peepaw. Although a lot of that is surely a facade or one of his alter egos, he truly is captured by the simpler things in life. As elaborate and flashy as their stage presence is, Josh clearly settles into a more sophisticated and uncomplicated lifestyle away from performing. When all the tour commotion dies down, I think he wants to come home to his rock and safe space…. That being you!!!

All the words you used to describe yourself are so powerful!!! Hard working…YES! Independent…YES! Ambitious…YES! No doubt you radiate that energy and Josh lives for that! All the good vibes! See, the thing about this argument is; yeah! You're entirely correct. There is a massive double standard in fandom when it comes to underage sex in paid fiction - TV, published books, comics, movies - verses when it appears in fanfiction. Euphoria is a really big one for this, because those underage characters are also constantly having sex, but there's no massive stink raised about adults writing that script either.

(CMBYN had the double whammy of a 17 year old having explicit sex AND the age gap of the main pairing which no one seems bothered by. It's a little different to my eyes - living in the UK, the age of consent is 16, so I don't see the underage aspect there - but it's another example of a typically American fandom ignoring their supposed morals when it's harder to get their hands on the creators/the work itself includes everyone's favourite skinny white boy, Timmy.)

But the real problem at the heart of this moralistic, puritanical campaign against underage sex depicted in fanfiction, is how twitter fucking loves to call it child porn. Because it's not.

Calling explicit underage sex in fanfiction child porn isn't just harmful to actual victims of it, but it also encourages the idea that queerness in inherently explicit/nsfw/unacceptable to greater society; because the fanfic that gets this pushback? Is overwhelmingly queer-created, and featuring queer-pairings.

This piling on encourages the idea that the mere existence of queer teenagers is nsfw, and it does so much harm, especially when trans kids are suffering so much already. A person might argue 'oh well stop writing that we're having sex at 16 then'; except that's real life. And everyone who was once sixteen knows it.

There is nothing unrealistic about writing teenagers having sex. When I was a teenager almost everyone in my class started having sex at fourteen. I had my first ever dramatic wlw breakdown at 14 when my best friend - who I had not yet realised I was in love with - admitted she'd had sex with her boyfriend, again, at fourteen years old.

So it's not unrealistic. It's not child porn, because that's a very real and harmful crime that affects real life children; and as a reminder, is a crime, and so would not be allowed on AO3 if that's what it was.

If the problem is the ages of those creating the work in question, I have two points.

First; if all underage smut was written by sixteen year olds, it would suck. That's not a judgement, it's just a fact. At sixteen you don't have enough life experience to know what good sex feels like, let alone how to write it well so everyone enjoys reading it. From all the 'im just gonna separate the artist from the art' rhetoric out there, it's clear that people get this point already. It's good fic. It's good because of the years of life and writing experience. The problem is the age of the creator. Which brings me to point number two.

Second; the people coming after writers for underage smut are cowards, and they're hypocrites. I don't feel like sugarcoating it any more. Twitter has been quite gleefully gloating about threatening some people's children, so there it is; cowards and hypocrites.

You will quite happily come after small creators on the internet BC they're in their 30s, but the 40-50 year old men having actors who represent underage teens in their shows get their tits out? The actors themselves, performing underage sex? Nah.

It's hypocrisy at its finest. If your morals do extend to shows like Euphoria, it's cowardice, because you're only throwing your weight around here, behind anon, where there are no big consequences for you being a little bitch.

The double standards are exhausting. The sad part about them is how few people recognise their own double standards. Sadder still is that their reaction, most likely, would be 'then I should stop watching these shows' instead of 'well then I should leave these people alone'.

I hope you're enjoying your show though, dear anon. I've not got around to watching Young Royals but the premise does make me 👀 I'll admit.

Some things that youd recomend someone to do at least once in their life? Like what are some experinces that you really enjoyed yourself/think youd enjoy a lot that youd recomend to other people ? i gotta say im really not as cool as you think i might be social media distorts stuff i spend most of my time doing boring shit 😭 like scrolling mindlessly watching family guy soap cutting tiktoks or washing up or doing uni work. anyway onto the ideas... if youre near any rivers or lakes or the ocean i would recommend doing something on the water i really like rowing and it is something you can do alone in a day which is so peaceful and rewarding and fun. go to your nearest city and cafe-hop with a book youve been meaning to read! GO TO AN ART GALLERY it is one of my fav things ever to do you will never regret going to an art gallery!!! go to a big one or to local exhibitions... go to art fairs and craft markets and support the local artists there, go see student plays! i once did a pottery making class which was fucking hilarious it was so fun and you can find so many similar things locally, you can make soap or do life drawing or learn to weave. and in doing these things you end up meeting so many people of so many different ages and walks and life AND you can learn so many new skills and find new passions and hear new stories and become involved in your community. GO TO PUNK GIGS! check out your local music scene! last week i got two tickets to a random feminist punk show and put 'hey anyone want this other ticket' on my instagram story and went with a complete stranger and ended the night hugging her at the barrier with loads of new friends. see if there are any flea markets/car boot sales in your area and go and find the weirdest objects and haggle with sellers! one thing i think would be really great to do if youre trying to have fun solo (and if youre the right age and have the financial means) is to book a hotel room/inn/b&b in another town or city or hell another country if youre able and stay there for a night or as long as you like. obvs make sure people know where you are and that you are safe (this one actually might be better to do with one other person) but like... be independent for a night it can be really fun and an amazing learning experience i was able to go abroad independently with a friend this year and as a newly turned adult i felt that throwing myself into a random place id never been to helped me to just kinda. mature in a way. anyway yeah just... go to new places and do new things and learn new skills, indulge your senses always, make a joke out of everything, but get out there and be a little spontaneous because even if youre afraid at first soon enough you wont be. if youre not able to do any of these things then READ. read as much as physically possible. read a different book by a different author in a different genre from a different culture every day. read wikipedia pages and go down rabbit holes. watch 5 different movies and read an essay on each one when youve finished. just like youll never regret going to a show or an art gallery you will never regret any time you spend reading. i have no idea if this was the answer you were looking for but i hope it was at least in the right ballpark or a conveniently adjacent one. if you have any followups or whatever my inbox is always open and i am having a very cool and fun night taking notes on a digital lecture about washington irving i was meant to do last week
