Amane, indoctrination, and gaslighting

and why voting Amane innocent would be the best course of action

I've been wanting to write a big post on Amane talking about indoctrination and such. Because I see takes sometimes that make it clear the person doesn't really... Get It.

Most of what I'll be explaining comes from my personal experiences growing up.

Additionally, most of what I say when it comes to outcomes (i.e. "If x happens, Amane will do y") will be based on the assumption that realism, not entertainment, is prioritized in the writing and that there are no major holes in our knowledge of what's going on. Theoretically anything could happen since this is a fictional scenario and we don't know everything when it comes to the world, the cases, and the characters. Not to mention my situation was nowhere near as extreme as hers. So although I probably have a better understanding of it than most people, I definitely can't claim that I know what she's gone through.

Personal anecdotes I add to better support my points will be in the small font (this!) since I don't want them to distract from the main text and so that they can be easily skipped for those who may be worried about being triggered. But if anyone needs plain text descriptions, I'll happily provide them!

At the heart of "good" (read: successful) indoctrination is gaslighting.

Since gaslighting has been one of the many psychology terms completely watered down and distorted by the internet, I will define it just so we're all on the same page!

Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation used to make the victim question their own sanity, sense of reality, or power of reasoning.

Basically, you can't trust yourself. You can't trust your thoughts, your feelings, your interpretations, etc. You become completely reliant on other people (usually specific people who are the ones doing the gaslighting) to figure out what's real/true or not.

Toxic/extremist religious groups like to take gaslighting a step further though. Not only do they make it so you cannot trust yourself to judge what is right or not, they may also teach you that what feels wrong is actually right. You can see where this can start to cause some issues lol.

Anything your gut may tell you that contradicts what the group/cult leaders tell you—"this is wrong!", "this is bad!", "I don't want to do this..."—must be ignored. Because those feelings and thoughts, according to the leaders, are actually the sinful part of you trying to lead the good and faithful part of you astray. They make you question yourself to make sure you never question them.

They will figuratively or literally beat this into you until your first instinct is no longer to listen to your gut and do what it says, but to dismiss it and do what it's telling you not to do. Existing becomes a chronic power struggle between your unconscious mind and your conscious mind. Unfortunately, the fact that you're struggling often then gets used against you as proof that you need to follow their teachings. Because if you're unhappy, then you must be doing something wrong. You just need to have a little more faith, dedicate a little more time to the religion/group, go a little harder into your duties... Only then will you feel better—feel more enlightened.

An integral part in making all this work is isolation. If you don't somehow isolate the members, they may figure out that they're being manipulated and abused.

Now, isolation doesn't always mean purely physical isolation (though Amane is being isolated physically to at least some capacity). Psychological isolation is almost just as powerful. An almost universal psychological isolation tactic used by extremist groups and cults is the "Us vs Them" mentality. We can see this being very prominent with Amane. A lot of things she talks about with regard to the cult involves an Us-vs-Them dynamic. There is "Us", the cult, and "Them", everyone else.

Personally, we were taught that those who weren't believers of our religion were out to get us or will, at the very least, get us hurt/killed somehow. We were told many people wanted us dead just for being believers. You had to be careful and watch out when interacting with non-believers; you couldn't trust them. God was constantly testing you via others, and you had to make sure you stayed faithful.

This in particular is why no matter if you vote guilty or innocent, that itself will not actually do anything to change her beliefs. Voting her guilty will not make her start to feel bad and then question her beliefs. Voting her innocent will not make her listen to us and then question her beliefs. If we make her have any doubt about the cult, that's just proof to her that what we're telling her is wrong and is just another "trial" from God for her to overcome. So, changing her beliefs should not be a factor considered when voting since it's completely irrelevant. Everything can be twisted to support the cult. That's just how it works.

I don't think any amount of punishment will make Amane "come to her senses". I mean... what could we possibly do to her that she hasn't already had to endure? Punishment will likely only escalate things even more. Not to mention that having a bit of a fascination with martyrdom isn't all that uncommon in those who have been religiously abused and indoctrinated. The threat of punishment may only serve to motivate her to double down on her beliefs and behavior. Not to say she wants and likes punishment. It's obvious she's both scared of punishment and wants it to stop. After all, that's most likely the motive behind the murder.

Even prior to Amane's age, I was already fantasizing about being a martyr. A part of me almost wanted to be killed for my religion and community. It was seen as something extremely admirable. The ultimate sacrifice, if you will. We were taught that if given the choice between saving yourself by denying your faith or letting yourself be hurt/killed by standing your ground, you should choose the latter. Of course, I also did not want that to happen at all. It scared me shitless. But we weren't allowed to be scared about that stuff. It was seen as questioning God and the religious authorities, which was completely taboo. So I had no choice but to "want" it.

Isolating Amane is the worst possible thing we could do to her. No one gets better from being isolated, and this goes double for people living in abusive environments. She's been isolated her whole life. The best thing for her would be spending time with the other prisoners without restrictions. The more time she spends around people who have no connection to the cult, the better. Trying to argue with those in cults about why they're wrong and why they are in a cult (because most don't even recognize they're in a cult due to the gaslighting, indoctrination, and stigma) will almost always backfire. The best thing to do is to just be there for them to have someone to interact with who is not a cult member.

The only reason I left the extremist religious community I grew up in was because I made a friend who was not affiliated with it. I don't think I would've been able to see that the conditions I was living in were Not Very Good without that friend. He didn't even really do anything to actively help me. Just learning more about the real world through him was enough to make me start looking closer at my life.

To vote her guilty would be to continue isolating her. Not just physically as the guilty prisoners get restrictions put on them, but it's also an inescapable psychological isolation. Innocent vs Guilty is just another Us vs Them dynamic.

I fear that, if she ends up guilty this trial, she will likely be voted guilty again in trial 3. Her aggression will probably only escalate as she feels herself becoming more and more cornered. And since I know many people are voting her guilty solely to make sure she doesn't hurt Shidou or other prisoners, I can only imagine what the voting will look like for her in trial 3 once she's forced to become even more aggressive to protect herself.

And tbh... I can't imagine that having a prisoner with 3 guilty verdicts will make for all that interesting of a story for them. Not that it would be boring, per se. But having variety would, in my opinion, be the most interesting and entertaining! So, if nothing else I've said has been able to sway those who vote her guilty, then think about the entertainment factor!

Please vote this severely traumatized 12 y/o girl innocent. We can give her so many secret cakes to eat.

"Fuck off Tsukasa, Agh— Damn it stop that!" Tsukasa gripped onto his shirt as he tried to sit next you "How about you move your ass—"

"Enough! You two need to learn how to get along! I'm LITERALLY Sitting in between the two of you what's there to argue?!" You shouted as they settled down, Luckily your parents weren't home to hear your outburst or you would of had an earful.

You sighed heavily, There was literally no way for thr both of them to stop fighting now is there, Standing up and heading to the door "Im gonna come back in here once the two of you get along" You were about to grab the door handle but Amane grabbed your wrist and pulled you down on the bed as Tsukasa locked the door.

Amane sat you down infront of him as Tsukasa sat behind you holding your hands "Don't you just Smell nice?~" Tsukasa nibbled on your ear as you whimper "H-hey—" Your breath hitched as Amane dug his face into your neck as you felt him peppering it with kisses

"Tsukasa.. A-amane wait.." You tried to push Amane off but Tsukasa had a firm grip on your wrist, You didn't know which to focus on, Amane or Tsukasa

"Having a hard time focusing on one hm?~" Tsukasa whispered in a husky tone in your ear as you blushed" As he dipped on hooked his finger on the neck hole of your shirt and started sucking and biting on one spot making you let out a small and quiet moan "H-ha~ Stop i-it you two.." As you grip on both of their hair

There was no sign of them stopping until they were satisfied, Amane pulled you into his lap as the two kept marking your neck, You were breathing heavily as your mind also became hazy by how much pleasure you were receiving from them "H-hgnn.. T-Tsu.. Amane.." You breathed out their names, Amane lifted his head as he admired his work, He leaned in your lips slightly brushing against each other

"Mm.. ~ You're very sweet, [F/N].. May I?.." You nodded as he sealed the distance between the two of you, It was hot, really hot. Eveb though the air conditioning was on it was so hot, Tsukasa made his way up to your jaw as he also began suck and bite leaving a trail of hickeys, Amane made the kiss even more passionate as he licked your bottom lip for entrance, You denied as yoy were too shy, But Tsukasa grabbed your thighs as he squeezed them gently making you gasped giving Amane the opportunity to slip his tongue in.

'Hot..' Pulling away as your tongues created a trail of saliva, you couldn't catch a breath as Tsukasa turned your head gently as he crashed his lips onto yours

'So.. Hot..' Tsukasa licked your bottom lip for entrance as you finally obliged feeling Amane pout from your neck, You couldn't comprehend how much these two were giving you, heck you didn't know what other words your uttered other than their names

Tsukasa finally pulled away as drool was dripping down the side of your mouth, You were breathing heavily, They finally stopped as Amane laid you down, Both of them admire how they worked, They both laid down beside you as Amane whispered in your ear "Do you want us to get along like this?~ We might as well learn how to share.. ~" He chuckled rubbing your knuckles as Tsukasa hugged your waist and fell asleep, Must be tired.

Ok so I think 11 people isn’t nearly enough to make an interesting story… so… I’m adding some more (plus pictures to show what they look like). I think some of them would be like plus ones, so there’d be a talent vs no talent dynamic

Haruka’s mom as like an Ultimate Caregiver (but she sucks at her job), maybe Haruka could be her plus one?

Yuno’s sugar daddy as the Ultimate CEO (also this is legit the only picture I could find 😭)

Fuuta’s victim as the Ultimate Student or smth idk we don’t really know her. Maybe some sort of gaming or internet ultimate would fit

We don’t know much about the other two’s victims, so I’m just gonna add those two main bully girls of Muu, (Aa and Sayu are their names apparently). Since they were friends at one point, I could see Muu bringing one as a plus one and just paying for one of them being the ultimate lucky student.

For the plot I’d say everyone would come to the prison under different pretenses (like Muu’s gang would think it’s a super prestigious academy, Muu and her bf think it’s a couple’s retreat, Shidou and his wife think it’s a place to get treatment for her, etc.) Then Jackalope reveals the real purpose and traps them in the prison. I’d say a minimum of like three people would have to die per trial for there to be an acceptable amount of survivors.

Some plot things I think would happen, Mikoto probs would die first (just cuz he’s messy). Then after learning the rules Kotoko would murder one or two people she deems evil (maybe Yuno’s Sugar daddy and Amane’s mom or smth), cuz only the first death matters. Then I think she’d do that a couple trials, before someone fakes their death (probably Muu) and gets Kotoko executed. Also I think it’d be interesting if pretty early on Es would be revealed as the Mastermind, and the perspective would switch to Rei. I think for the third trial, like how in the og games there’s a double kill, there’d be a HUGE blood bath that like cuts down all of the just extra space characters.

I had a bout of inspiration for fourth Age cabbage patch elflings but the scene doesn’t fit in any story I have yet so here it is:

For some unfathomable reasons, Celebnínim adored Turgon. Maglor knew, intellectually, that his great-granddaughter got along well with people he deemed boring, and he would never dream of complaining about her love for administrative tasks and paperwork since she was the one practically running the House of Fëanor in his stead and he only needed to sign the odd official paper. But stil… Turgon of all people? His dumb-as-brick cousin? And, blissfully oblivious to any awkward situation, Celebnínim had invited him and Elenwë at her home for some time. Her home in Maglor’s corner of Aman and only a short walking distance from his Smial. His Smial she popped twice or thrice a week for dinner.

He hated it, and he hated more that he couldn’t even grumble at Turgon because Celebnínim would be upset and no one wanted that. So, Maglor suffered in silence the passionate discussion of his great-granddaughter and his cousin and made idle talk with Elenwë when the other two started spouting barbaric architectural terms or went on a tangent about taxes politics. Just like he suffered through extremely awkward dinners with Celebmeril’s very Telerin parents by marriage, or very loud ones with Elndeldor (dead) dwarves friends.

Oh goD oH GOD OH GOD NINIM AND TURGON FROENDSHIP IM SCREAMING IT FITS SO WELL! Her, Erestor and Turgon have scrabble nights and nobody but those three wants to be in the same room as it happens bc the debates

first are my babies who i ride most often

(from left to right - Aman, Dust, Sado and Aomen)

Aman is my new main. he's a stallion (most of my horses are stallions tho) and got his own will but he's a good boy. he's a sharp race horse and yasmine's biggest love and passion. but he got a dark side

Dust is the horse i use for chill rides basically, when i feel like riding a simple horse, or to ride in dino valley (he got cold endurance). he's old and simple and isnt into excitements. he's also used as a pack horse. he's the reliable horse yasmine uses for all of life's necessities that arent racing. in my mind he used to be a wild horse. he likes rolling in dusty sandy places

even tho dust got the most "lore" Sado is actually my favorite. im emotionally attached to him. i really wanted him before he was released, and then he came out on the app exactly on my birthday (january 20), i got him the same day and ive been riding him a lot. love him a ton. i love his face and his black knee high socks

Aomen or Omen is a comfy horse to me i ride when i want to feel like riding a very soft comfy horse and not an edgy horse. love his face and touches of brown

then i have my arabians (Onion, Moss and Mirror)

Onion was my first arabian and i love his naked face. he's the cutest horse and has layers. he likes to eat flowers

Moss was my previous main. she's yasmine's soulhorse (tho yasmines soulhorse is now kinda a combo of her and Aman). im actually unsure about her gender and sometimes shes a mare and sometimes a stallion to me depends how i feel like. he's quiet but powerful and intense

and Mirror is just a wind dog in a horses body. i just liked how he looks a lot

then those i love but dont ride that much - Unfriend, Bluemovie, Bread and Baby

Unfriend was the first horse that i got besides the starter horse. i also think he got super cute face and i love him still. i dont rlly ride him now but we got a bond. he's just a very big dog

Bluemovie i got bc i thought he's really sexy and thought of lowkey shipping him with yasmine in some way but i ended up basically never riding him skdfjdskfd he's just there to shut up and be pretty

in the pasture are those that i either hate or dont touch. i hate asshole and irony (irony is cute but im mad sse fixed the pintabians after i bought one), i dont touch A (og horse) and heavymetal is same breed as Baby but i dont rlly use him. i got him bc theyre cheap and i thought that the black one also looked cool besides the iconic y2k north swedish

Clang! The arrhythmic sound of metal hitting metal increases in frequency and then abruptly ceases.

“I can’t—” Fingon’s voice wavers and his arm drops helplessly. “It cannot be broken. I’m sorry, it cannot.”

“I know,” Maedhros says.

Fingon looks at him. “What do I do?” he asks, as he used to ask in their youth when he would get in trouble and run to his cousin for advice.

No, he doesn’t ask. He’s not the youthful, innocent Fingon of Aman. He has bloodied his sword, he has crossed the frosty expanses of the Helcaraxë, and he has found Maedhros in this wasteland. He wouldn’t ask, but Maedhros still reads the question in his eyes.

“You know what to do,” he says. “Please.”

“No.”

“Listen to me, Findekáno, I want it. It’s the only thing I want. And for some reason, you still love me, and you have come for me, so, please, find it in your heart to do me this one last favor.”

The eagle is slowly flapping its great wings. Fingon is silent. Tears roll down his beautiful face. Maedhros raises his left hand and wipes them away with his thumb.

“I am sorry for being so selfish,” he says. “I am sorry for burdening you with this. You don’t deserve it. You are kind, noble, brave, and better than I am in every way. I know I am asking much from you. I know it will grieve you, but please, Findekáno, please do it for me and for all those that are going to suffer because of me.”

Fingon closes his eyes and tightly grasps the hilt of his dagger. Maedhros can see all his thoughts and emotions on his face, and when his expression settles on defeat, Maedhros’s heart aches with sorrow and gratitude.

Fingon nods once, determined, and covers Maedhros’s hand — still cupping his face — with his own. It’s warm, and Maedhros shivers, grips Fingon’s hand and brings it to his lips.

“Thank you,” he says, and he means I’m sorry, and he means I love you, but Fingon knows it, and saying those words aloud will only pain him more.

Fingon leans forward and kisses him as sweetly as the first time. No, it’s not sweet, it’s passionate, bitter, all-consuming, as last kisses are supposed to be.

“I love you,” he whispers against Maedhros’s lips.

He holds Maedhros by the back of his head. His fingers are gentle in Maedhros’s hair, his dagger is cold against Maedhros’s chest. His hand is shaking. No, it’s steady because he knows he’s doing the right thing, he knows this is the best possible outcome for everyone. He will strike true. It will be quick.

Maedhros doesn’t close his eyes. The last thing he sees will be Fingon’s face, Fingon’s brilliant smile, Fingon’s shining eyes. The last thing he feels under his fingertips will be the warmth of Fingon’s skin, Fingon’s fine cheekbone, Fingon’s soft lips.

He feels giddy with the promise of release, the promise of an end. He’s not afraid. He nods.

The dagger slides smoothly between his ribs. The pain is brief. Then he’s free. For a moment, he sees all of Beleriand. He sees Fingon, riding freely, safe; he sees his brothers, together, alive; he sees Doriath, unblemished; he sees the Mouths of Sirion, unbloodied.

He doesn’t heed Námo’s call. He doesn’t stay chained to the spells of Angband. He doesn’t flee elsewhere. He disappears, he dissolves, he unexists. He is erased. He is nothingness.

He twitched and looked around with unseeing eyes until his gaze focused on his brother. Maglor was frowning, and blood was slowly dripping from the still untreated gash on his temple.

“Did you hear what I said?” he asked.

Maedhros blinked. “No, sorry.”

Maglor crouched in front of him. “Are you all right?” He laughed without mirth and shook his head. “Sorry, stupid question. I came to say that it is time. Are you ready?”

Maedhros stood. “The children?” he asked.

Maglor sighed. “Finally asleep.”

Maedhros nodded and began walking under the cheerless shadow of Taur-im-Duinath together with his brother, barely noticing his people, who were slumped against the tall trees or gathered around small fires.

“Nelyo,” Maglor said softly. “Just now, when I came for you, you were… You had a very strange look on your face.”

“Did I?”

“Yes. You were smiling." They were almost there, so Maglor halted and turned to Maedhros. "What were you thinking about?”

“A happy ending,” Maedhros said and went on to bury his youngest brothers.

Hanako always does so much for Yashiro. He would basically do anything for her. Hell he has. 

But this ... picture perfect. this fake world. I know Shijima said that he hated this fake world.. he did it for her. 

But can we just break down the fact that not only did he create this fake world. He stayed there. As his living self. He had to be Yugi Amane again. 

What’s worse is (gosh I swear im gonna start crying this just hit me all of a sudden) whats worse is he had to be this Yugi Amane that DOES NOT EXIST! Not only cause I mean these people weren't around at a time when he was still alive but because this Yugi Amane is not broken to nothing. 

He had to be this he had to pretend to be this happy boy back in the physical body of his living self ( I mean this metaphorically obviously his appearance didn’t change since he was Hanko)  His body with no scars. This was not Yugi Amane’s body. No burns, scrapes, bruises, bandages none of that! But he wasnt he was still Hanako he remembered his life he remembered all the pain physically and emotionally and... to have to go be this “character” (yes im gonna call amane a character) again to be in this situation and experience life. Real life and happiness in a way he could never feel when he was alive was so much WORSE then him being transported back into the body of the real broken Amane. He’s used to that. And even though as a ghost and it’s been centuries he’s blocked that out he still knows.

But to be this boy. Honestly the pain and resentment he must have felt. I know I have no proof of this I get it. Not from Hanako besides from the fact that he HATES this fake world but you can just imagine. YOU CAN JUST IMAGINE! There are so many signs. 

I saw this point in another post as well which I think is an extremely good one. He can be happy with friends here. He has Yashiro and he has everybody. People go to him for help. They love his passion and knowledge about astronomy. He’s not SEVERELY bullied and - oh gosh ok this part still confuses me so we are gonna save this part about a “normal Tsukasa” for another time cause I honestly don’t know if he was just “acting” too or if Hanako didn’t know he was acting cause if Hanako didn’t know then regardless my points for this still hold merit ..which will be more explored in a different post) 

But this is really besides the point. THE POINT IS Hanako had to live this out as a Happy Amane and that must have torn him apart from the inside out. 

Hanako is a ghost and as a ghost he is really the embodiment of emotion. (In the jshk world ok im not speaking for actual ghosts I just want to clarify) When you think of Spirits like Mitsuba for example he has so much pain and longing which is why he refuses to LET GO he becomes monstrous but when you look at him your not scared you just want to cry because you know how this boy feels. But this post isnt about Mitsuba. However I can use this as an example of resentment and jealousy for his living self. 

Im honestly getting confused with my own words now trying to keep this straight i was doing good and then that just went off the rails. 

But if you are someone who went through such a HORRBLE time in your life and you had to be that younger (ill use younger here cause if you are still alive you age obviously) version of yourself again and live as them and have to live as them knowing its NOT REAL where none of that pain happened. I know I would be so resentful jealous confused scared angry and longing. Because “Why? Why couldn't have this been my actual life.. things would have been different.. i could have.. i could have gone to the moon.” (rememberer I’m still speaking for Hanko here guys) 

JSHK DOESN’T NEED TO HAND YOU THE WORDS on a silver plater out of Hanako's mouth for you to understand what demons he hides. The fact that we only see this stuff through Yashiro or only BECAUSE of Yashiro should speak volumes! 

And that is why Hanako has done so much for Yashiro he would give his life for her if he had one to give in a heartbeat.  But nothing to me compares to this. To him having to not only face but live as this fake version of his alive self. Gosh how he must have been feeling looking at the stars with Yashiro, expressing again his astronomy knowledge, having to be in class, having to LEAVE THE SCHOOL (which oh so many thoughts on that which will also be in another post not this one)  the phycological torment of all of this. But he did this cause 

this was her only chance. So he did this he stayed with her. 

This is why this means so much to me. There is an actual aching pain in my heart as I type right now. It just hurts. It’s so profound and when you have to really understand and pull back the layers but I do think I make sense I really do it’s what I feel from this character and that alone should be enough to express my real pain on this topic.

didn’t wanna repost the sketch i posted two days ago but i made the hands larger and fixed the arm a little so the body doesn’t look as horribly out of proportion as it does before (listen i was so exhausted from drawing the hands from two days ago that i didn’t bother to fix it that day), and i know i said i didn’t like the face before but honestly it sort of grew on me. i like the face shape, the features might be a bit....too....amateur looking but hey...i am amateur..what can i do. but i do think i get the rough shape of maglor’s face in my mind, and that’s what’s important. i can see him better in my head now. 

ALSO i sketched maglor’s harp in detail, so im using this as an excuse to dump some headcanons on my blog

anyways, i have like, a page full of maglor related headcanons but this one about the harp might be my favourite. 

so that little harp (more like a lyre tbh) with feanorian star on it is a golden harp, forged and crafted by the very hands of Feanor maglor’s father. It is made of pure gold, but feanor tinkered with the metal and made it so that it weighted much lighter than what a harp made of gold should weight. The strings are also metal strings, and yes Feanor is one of the very first people (aka elves) who made harp strings out of metal instead of animal products because I Said So. This is feanor’s gift to maglor on his coming of age ceremony (which would be his 50th begotten day). in his youth, maglor has shown exceptional talent in songs and playing of various instruments, with harp being his favourite. Though feanor noticed that his second child’s talent in crafts have very little to do with smith works, he was nevertheless extremely proud of him and wanted to encourage him to pursue his passion. Over the years, maglor has many harps of various sizes and designs later in his life, some he made himself and the others were made by his father, but this little golden harp has always remained his very favourite. Back in the better days on Aman, He’d always brought it along with him on his travel with his brothers. This is one item that meant far more to maglor than the similars, and he kept it with him during the hundreds of years of war. On beleriand, he would bring the harp along with hi on his hunting trips with maedhros, and also when he patrolled his gap near Himring as he sung songs of power with the harp and using it to cleanse the nearby areas of any foul air. After the second kinslaying, however, maglor had wanted to destroy the harp--it, like the oath and the similars, was yet another relic of their father’s accursed legacy. But he couldn’t do it, of course. He kept the harp with him, to the very bitter end along the shores. Even after he casted away the similars, he could not part with the golden harp. So he wanders the shores and does what he always does--to sing with the companying chords of the golden harp.

okay im going to ramble about jshk bc i feel talkative tonight :3 also warning: spoilers for the manga

whenever i think about the flashback we saw in the 4pm bookstacks i want to CRY??? idk why but i think flashbacks to hanako's past is one of the things from the manga that leaves such a heavy emotional impact on me???

it's just.... so sad... like when we first see hanako, he's this really playful character. i would have never guessed that something happened to him so to see that flashback was really shocking and disheartening. like to see that hanako was a lonely kid with no friends who was being hurt by someone???? hello!!!! what the fuck!!! im hurting????? T____T

what we're shown is such a stark contrast to the hanako we know. and it just makes me feel so much more bad for him. to know that he suffered so much for who knows how long when he was a young kid ))): and also!!! the part where spider sensei asked hanako to tell him who was harming him and he said that he 'forgives them' i??? 😭😭😭😭 that ugh that made me SO SAD..... SO UPSET..... bc idk in a way ish it feels like it's hopeless and that nothing can be done about it hhh idk how to explain it

and that's so sad esp bc ive seen lots of speculations that tsukasa was the one hurting hanako ))): which is like..... sooooo so so upsetting because !!! it must be so hard to endure harm from your own brother because he probably 1. feels like he can't do anything about it (like maybe tsukasa threatened him to not tell) 2. doesn't want to tell in order to protect tsukasa from getting punished in any way or something else!!! aaaa )): i don't know how to explain it but there was just something so heartbreaking about when he said that he forgave the person who hurt him ))):

also just the way past amane looked so hurt, sad, and lonely breaksssss my fucking heart like oh my god!!!!!!!!! it makes me so sad knowing that he didn't have any friends and was just by himself ))):

omg also the way he was so passionate about space, astronomy, and the moon!!!! he wanted to go to the moon but he didn't!!!!! i still don't understand what the line 'im not going anywhere' means but that hurt

and hhhh THE WAY THAT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BECOME AN ASTRONOMY TEACHER 😭😭😭😭 FUCK IVE HAD ENOUGH 😭😭😭😭 LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING !!!! he would have been such a good teacher like he would have been one of those really passionate teachers who really poured their heart into their teaching and who cared about their students i T____T

and just . god during one of the most recent arcs in the fake world when he was talking to yashiro about space and the stars/constellations??? goddddd the way he remembered and recited those facts!!!! you can tell that he's still really excited and passionate about astronomy im so ))))):

im just..... fuck.... i don't know why he klled tsukasa but a part of me really thinks that he didn't do it on purpose, especially based on what we know about hanako. like he's super playful, he can be a bit 👁️ at times, but he has a good heart and he cares about others ): so for him to kll someone, esp his own brother on purpose seems unlikely to me???? plus whenever he sees tsukasa, he's completely shocked and paralyzed by fear? guilt? which i don't think would be his reactions if he'd done it on purpose. im sure he feels really guilty about it so idk what it is but!!! im upset now didkkffkd

Amane is a character that is super easy to misinterpret. If you try to take her at face value, you are not going to get very far. And not cause she's deceitful or lying. But I think it is because she says what she thinks she believes. And, in my opinion, what should be given the most attention is not if she actually believes what she's saying or not, but why she would believe what she's saying. That will give you a lot more insight into her character and a lot more to work with, I think.

Amane, without any sort of doubt. It’s not that Bang doesn’t like it, Amane is just into it so much more. He has no reservations in getting all cuddly without much provocation.

I mean...Bang tries, but Amane still beats him easily. That, and Amane is better with words, so he can express his emotions better.

They’re both showy bastards, it’s really hard to determine who’s worse because they are both so, so extra.

Amane, absolutely.

Having them get together has been highkey a disaster because it feels like the two of them can’t go five minutes without someone doing it. Though at least with Bang it more commonly comes up during Amane’s performances, and the music helps drown him out.

Amane was probably the first to put it into words. He was charmed by the man’s tenacity and passion and realized he was fostering a crush, while Bang definitely liked him but had no idea that it was that big until they were like three dates in.

Bang is not naturally good at gift-giving so he overcompensates by putting an unreasonable amount of effort into the task. Even if it’s for something really minor, he will spend forever trying to determine what Amane would like best.

Amane is just a very cuddly man. If anything it’s nice because then Bang doesn’t have to worry about asking for it and getting shot down.

Honestly they’re both terrible about this, it’s just a matter of if you find Amane’s cutesy nicknames or Bang’s absurd amount of emoticons more annoying.

I love the idea of Amane accidentally getting Bang into the concept and he gets like...super obsessed with it for a while until Amane begs him to let it go. He loves you darling but for god’s sake if you say the words ‘spiritual compatibility’ one more time he might just smack you upside the head.

Bang, though in terms of sheer power Amane doesn’t have much to worry about. It has not stopped him yet. 

💚: who tends to get sick more often? who is better at taking care of the other?

I’m not sure if Amane can even get sick since he’s basically a demigod? So Bang probably just out of that logic, even if idiots can’t catch colds.  (and either way, am I going to make them both suffer even if it doesn’t make canonical sense? of course) I think both of them would be pretty good in that kind of situation, Amane is a dad after all and even if Bang isn’t best at the actual medical stuff he’s good at being emotionally supportive and caring.

💜: who said “i love you” first? or, if neither has said it yet, who is more likely to say it first?

It would take forever for one of them to actually say it. Amane would assume it was a mutual unspoken thing and Bang is clueless, so as soon as Amane realizes that Bang doesn’t recognize that their fancy night out wasn’t actually a ‘friend date’ he’d finally use that to get the point across.
