wow there is an insane amount of Larry articles now holy moly and even if some of their info is incorrect, well, it still brings attention to them.

to be fair, Louis could appease a lot of people by saying “yes, Harry and I dated very briefly during the early 1d days, but we didn’t go public with it and then broke up because of the pressure and I met me gf Eleanor” to literally:

1. not out all the stunts

2. somewhat out him and Harry as potentially still being queer

3. seeding a future coming out by “rekindling the romance” so it’s gently introduced prior to the GP as opposed to a denial

4. let antis and solos believe Larry isn’t real anymore so they don’t feel lied to

5. confirm larries’ beliefs

6. Receive public sympathy if the statement says “we were young and scared and it didn’t work out” or something along those lines

This strategy would make his life easier, his promo bigger, help with the fact people think Harry is queerbaiting if he’s actually seen as queer, make Louis not seem like a homophobe but a vulnerable real person, and would cover all bases.

Now, why would louis not want to do that? Well… there’s a couple of reasons, but I think the main ones are:

1. If they come out about it, he doesn’t want to lie. He doesn’t want to say he and Harry weren’t closeted and that they didn’t fight for their love, and not expose Simon and the industry executives for their awful behaviour

2. Harry and him are still together, they want to come out together, and they’re waiting for the right time (post stunts ending)

Now some of you may say “but… Louis doesn’t want Larry to take away from his career that he’s building, he wants to do it separate from that” and okay, fair point, but not after this denial. This proves 150% that his team, as a last resort, will bring up Larry to boost his promo. If he really was bothered by it, he wouldn’t bring it up. It wouldn’t connect them back together. And you wanna know something?

His denial would have had to be approved by Harry and his team.

Yep, this isn’t just Louis spouting a denial for promo off his own back. This is in collaboration with Harry’s team. With Harry’s fame and this linking them together in a way that will affect his fandom and bring him a large amount of publicity that he may not want, it needs to be approved by his team.

This isn’t just a random person claiming to have slept with Harry, it’s not a random person spouting some bullshit about Harry… his team don’t care about a lot of rumours. They let them slide because some of them just aren’t big enough or scandalous enough to care about, and it keeps him in the headlines. But the Larry thing goes waaaaay back. It makes people become larries and dig into it when this shit is online. It jeopardises Harry’s current stunt. It threatens to out him and a long line of massively important music industry professionals. It’s been an ongoing thing for like 13 years now.

Harry doesn’t comment on it, because he doesn’t need to. He doesn’t need more promo. He doesn’t want to jeopardise his image that hints that he’s queer. It doesn’t affect Louis’ image to that degree due to previous stunts and denials.

So… yeah.

Harry’s team approved the denial. Louis approved to be asked about it and released it as edited and pre recorded for promo as soon as he left LATAM. It’s rehearsed. Let’s push on and keep this all in mind.

I understand not comparing harry and louis. But I will never say Louis has what he wants right now, when we're still seeing clear signs of him being boycotted and blacklisted due to whatever happened in his 1D days. He's making the best of the situation that is all we can say for sure. But to assume this is the fame he wants is incorrect, this is the fame he can get, so he's taking it. Who knows what he'd do if he wasn't sabotaged every step of the way.

I think you’re completely misunderstanding the point of that post. They’re not saying Louis doesn’t want to be hugely successful. They’re not saying this is the best he can get, so he’s happy with that. They’re talking to the people who keep focusing on the differences between Harry and Louis’ careers and acting as though if Louis doesn’t reach the exact same milestones he’s somehow not successful. The point of that post is that he doesn’t want what Harry has in the way Harry has it. Literally no one is saying Louis wants to still be tied up with babygate and radio stations that won’t play his music. But even if those things disappeared tomorrow, I don’t think Louis wants the same career as Harry has. I don’t think “fame” is his goal. IMO, people need to stop using Harry as a measure of everyone else’s success.

Under XFactor contracts all of 1D sold fanservice to their gullible fans. You never saw then as friends outside of the 1D contracts after 2014 especially. There is literally no fanservice between Harry and Louis post 2012 when Louis demanded the fans stop harrasing Eleanor, Johanna and his sisters. Until 2012 he played into it. After Louis had seen that fans turned it into full blown stalker cult conspiracy theory they stopped interacting. Ruined the dynamic in the band as Liam & Zayn said

I’m really not interested in engaging with this ask any further than to say this: The idea that there are no Larry moments post-2012 is factually incorrect. Some interactions might have been for fans, others most certainly were not. But if you’re interested in times when Larry was used for fan service after 2012, you can start with MITAM promo and work your way down.

“Why do I even bother to post screenshots? That is incorrect. Kid Harpoon is, in fact, with GMR now. If you had bothered to look at the website or the screenshots that I posted about AIW, you would see that Harry and Kid are both represented by GMR. Tyler is not. In the songs that you posted.

Both Harry and Kid are listed as being represented by GMR under “Current Society.”

Just like when Harry was in 1D and not represented by GMR, Kid’s previous entries show up like this:

You can see that before he was represented by GMR, the entries show that GMR represents 0% of the licensing rights, but Kid is, in fact represented by GMR. Back then, he was not.”

Actually, I did look at the screenshots and I didn’t say anything about AIW, but only talked about Adore You and Falling. When you look up a writer in a PRO, they show their current PRO affiliation/society. Kid Harpoon did not become affiliated with GMR until 2021 - they actually mentioned in their 2021 Q2 newsletter that he had just signed with them.

At the time Fine Line was released in 2020, Kid Harpoon was still affiliated with UPMG and therefore Harry was the sole GMR writer on both Adore You and Falling, and the writing credits still reflect that. That’s also why GMR appears to only hold 50% and not 100% of the writing credits on Falling, even though Harry and Kid are the only two writers on the track.

But as you rightly point out, AIW was written after Kid joined GMR, so the GMR writing credits for this song has to be split between Harry and Kid, and unfortunately you can’t tell how much each of them receive individually.

The way that you worded this made it seem as if you were saying that Kid is not with GMR currently--not when he wrote those songs. If I misunderstood what you were saying, I apologize.

Also, here's a fun fact. Stevie Nicks split the publishing rights with Prince on her song Stand Back because she was inspired to write it after hearing his song Little Red Corvette. I heard that little nugget kn Tiktok this morning.ooked it up and it's true. Here it is in the GMR database:

Unlike Harry, Stevie gives credit where credit is due. Prince did not want to be credited in the liner notes. He just wanted the case. LOL
