Here's an intro for the Junko AU

Uzumaki Junko’s Konoha

Uzumaki Junko is the granddaughter of Uchiha Yorima, one of the great founders of konoha who have brought the current peace to the ninja world. As an Uzumaki, Junko is of noble blood and in line for hokage position, she is trained for it everyday by the best teachers, she’s been taught everything she needs to know since she was very young, she has everything.

Junko longs for a life outside of the village walls, free from the constant watch and expectations, most importantly, she wants the freedom to be a girl with friends and go on missions like everyone else. She has one friend, Hyuuga Honoka. Honoka is the daughter of the main branch closest in age to her. She was also trained her whole life for a single purpose and always kept around Junko as they grew up, and finally when she was old enough to enter the academy Honoka received a special seal, similar to her clan’s branch cage one, a seal to serve and protect a specific person: Junko. And so she became her bodyguard.

Private teachers, personal bodyguard, her own house, everyone in the village knowing her and treating like a princess. Junko has everything.

But there’s just one problem in Junko’s life. And it’s her Uchiha blood.

In this world people are born the same and, althought blood connection can help, anyone can awaken the powers of any clan. Said clans are formed around those powers, and not bloodline.

The Hyuuga are the main clan of the village, after the Uzumakis, who are close to royalty, they have priority over the skills any child awakens. The main branch is made up of blood related “pure” Hyuugas, the branches take in the people who join from other bloodlines. Although rare, branch members can climb their way to the main house, by proving themselves in combat skill.

A child born from any of these clans who awakens the ability specific of another - more noble clan - will be taken to train and join said clan, like Inuzuka Tabata who was born with the byakugan and had to follow their rules for years until finally failing the tests and being bannished back to the Inuzuka.

After the Hyuuga clan comes the InoShikaCho houses and the Aburame, after them the Inuzuka and Sarutobi, and finally the smaller clans like Haruno, Lee, Hatake etc.

There are no Uchihas in konoha. It’s been years since anyone with their rare skills has been born. This is why Junko is so precious, she is a royal Uzumaki with good chances of awakening the sharingan. That’s what she’s trained for, that’s what they teach her. Because that’s what she needs to know.

Uchiha Domin

Domin is what Junko does not need to know. A young boy without a name, he chose Domin as his name when he awakened his sharingan.

He knows about Junko and never cared for her in all of his years working in secret, doing the dirtiest and darkest jobs for konoha. Junko is 12 and has never left on a mission, heck she’s not even officially genin yet, while Domin is 17 and has been killing and fighting for his life for almost a decade now.

He knows he has blood on his hands so that she doesn’t have to, and he doesn’t care because he knows about her, he knows that blood is keeping him alive, but when Junko’s time comes - if it ever comes - it won’t save her. So he doesn’t care and he does his job.

That is until he has to care. He meets the girl by accident, running errands in disguise around the village, when she notices him. And Junko is like the sunshine, she draws him, warms him and sees him. He gets to actually know her in the short period he allows himself to stay close and realizes, too late, the mistake that was. Because Junko shouldn’t know about him.

Domin can’t let this go any longer so he warns her.

“You can’t awaken these eyes! The day you do, you’ll be dead!”

There’s a reason no Uchihas have been seen in years. There’s a reason Domin needs to be useful to stay alive. And there’s a reason Junko and everyone else can’t know about people like Domin.

“Uchihas are cursed and need to be hunted and killed.”

That’s how it is. Junko doesn’t know his name, but she knows the truth now.

Info to use in fanfics

Kawaki’s birthday is 5/13. Kawaki obviously likes taiyaki. Extra text talks about his eye and his karma and how he can use shinjutsu and that he swapped lives with Boruto. Naruto and Hinata are trapped in his timeless “space.”

Sarada likes black tea flavored things (e.g. black tea scones, black tea cookies, black tea macarons… these are some of the things I’ve personally eaten). “For some reason” she is immune to omnipotence and retained her memories. Due to Sarada’s opposition to the village’s decision to execute Boruto, she is still a genin. Other stuff is just talking about her chidori and the fact that she’s Sasuke’s only kid.

Mitsuki was Boruto’s former best friend :( and now he’s risking his life to save Kawaki.

Himawari is confirmed to be training under InoShikaCho to be a ninja

Sumire kept her memories like Sarada and works for the scientific ninja tools ppl. Her tag says she’s a sharp minded scientist

Shikamaru opposes it but he’s under the process of becoming the 8th Hokage.

MY AU|CANON pt.2

— Haruno-Hyuga family!

• Haruno-Hyuga Sakura (Mother; head of the clan)

Strict mother. Loves and protects his family. Works at Konoha Hospital, provides for the whole family.

Teaches both daughters. She tries to make her eldest daughter Memory wake up Byakugou as soon as possible and constantly says that she has been accumulating chakra. On weekends, he likes to spend time with his family and/or trains them together with Hinata.

• Haruno-Hyuga Hinata (Mom)

Beloved mom! She does not work, because Sakura's salary is enough to live comfortably. Plus, Haruno herself insisted on it.

If neither she nor Sakura can keep an eye on the girls, Hinata asks Hanabi.

She wants to teach her daughters to use Byakugan and Soft Fist.

• Haruno-Hyuga Memory

Since she is the first child, there is a lot of chakra in her. It may seem that she looks like Hinata, yes, she is calm and will not raise her voice, but if something threatens her family or village, she becomes serious and formidable, like Sakura.

The very tenderness. Her beautiful pink hair, cute white eyes, and calm character make her the object of adoration of many boys from the class. In class, she is friends with the children of Nanadaime first of all, the son of Rokudaime, Inoshikacho and others. Gets some positive ratings, just a good girl!

• Haruno-Hyuga Atena

The youngest and favorite child. She looks more like Sakura, sociable, happy and a ray of sunshine in Memory's life.

Atena loves to help her mother in cooking. The girl has a dream: to become so strong that she can stand on the battlefield on the side of Memory with dignity.

• Uchiha-Hatake Kakashi

The sixth Hokage. Now retired, but from time to time goes out to perform missions. If you don't want to go on a mission, then he sits at home and reads Icha-Icha Paradise or goes for a walk with Guy.

He is very worried about his son. Since he is a Hokage, he has access to the ANBU command. First he assigned one Shinobi to him, and then three, then five.

• Uchiha-Hatake Houki

The famous son of Rokudaime. He is very popular among girls at the Academy. He is friends with Boruto, Shikamaru and Inojin. Many in their class say that Sarada and Memory are in love with him, so they don't communicate much, although their parents are on the contrary.

When Houki realized that someone was watching him, and constantly, when he left home, he was very upset that his father did not trust him. Although this is not the case. In fact, he loves his son very much, he's just worried about his safety, he's the son of Hokage.

(Even Naruto doesn't do that, God)

“Dad, do we have to?”

“Do we have to what?”

“Go to Ino’s. It’s troublesome.”

Shikaku sighed, raising his eyes at his son across the shogi board between them. “You can’t get out of this,” he told him firmly, though lacking the conviction he knew it would take to convince a boy so beyond his years. “It’s been this way for twelve years now. It’s tradition.”

“Tradition is sixteen generations of our families having to be friends by default,” groaned Shikamaru. His eyes didn’t raise from the shogi pieces to acknowledge the small frown his father gave him. “I don’t get why this has to be a tradition. Don’t we have enough of those already?”

“Like what?”

“Like names and earrings and clan heads and…” Shikamaru’s enthusiasm for the argument washed away with a deep sigh. “How did it even start?”

“We’ve just always done it,” Shikaku said, a little bewildered. “Not to mention, Ino would be devastated if you didn’t celebrate together. Inoichi tells me every year how she loves having someone to share her birthday with.”

“But it’s not her birthday today. It’s mine. I should be able to do what I want.”

“And what is it that you want to do?”

“Nothing.”

“Then you should’ve come out when you were supposed to and not made your mother, and I wait.”

Shikamaru’s blank expression shifted as he looked up, an amalgamation of disgust and anger lacing his brow. “How’s that my fault?” he asked. “I didn’t ask to be born at all.”

Perhaps not, but you were,” Shikaku sighed. He made his move on the board and left his finger atop the piece as he held Shikamaru’s eye. “Ino will be upset with you if you don’t go.”

“So? It’s not just her birthday.”

“Inoichi will be upset with me, as well.”

The teen leaned back on his hands and rolled his eyes. “Again, Dad. Not my issue.”

“It will be your problem, boy, when your laziness drives a rift between our clans and their sacred bond.”

There was a bite to Shikaku’s voice that his son rarely heard within the walls of his home. He was used to his mother ruling the roost and announcing the comings and goings and rules of the household while his father lay subservient to her wishes. He didn’t think Shikaku weak, as such, but Shikamaru’s respect for him in their living room no doubt paled in comparison to his respect on the streets of Konoha. It helped, too, that Shikamaru had reached a level of shogi at which he could occasionally whip his father.

But today was not one of those days. He looked down at the pieces, shoulders hunched as he processed the devastating loss that the last move had cornered him into, and sighed. “I’m sorry,” he muttered, leaning forward to begin rearranging the pieces. “Can we play again before we—”

“Your mother won’t be pleased if you’re late,” Shikaku interrupted, though his sharp tone was evened out by a small smile. “And she won’t accept a shogi match as a valid reason.”

“But please,” begged Shikamaru. “One more.”

Shikaku paused for a moment, then nodded and helped reset the pieces. “Fine, but if I win you have to promise me not to complain when we get there.”

The boy groaned. “But, Dad, I—”

“No ‘buts’,” Shikaku insisted. “One day, you’ll grow out of it. You might even miss it.”

“I doubt it…”

“But until then, grin and bear it. It won’t last forever.”

Twelve, thirteen, fourteen, all the way to sixteen, Shikamaru’s birthdays, much to his dismay, were just as governed by Ino as they had always been. He didn’t fully understand why it was his birthday, which always had to hold the festivities. He never questioned it. There was rarely ever a point in questioning Ino. He just rolled with whatever he was told, clinging to the promise that it wouldn’t last forever.

Though he wasn’t particularly fond of gifts, Shikamaru always enjoyed what the Yamamakas bought for him. The day's highlight was usually unwrapping a neatly wrapped brown-paper parcel, typically tied up with a florist's ribbon, to find something genuinely useful. A new iteration of his usual black shirt, a second coming of the same old pair of shoes, or a new set of Shogi pieces for his bedroom to practise without his father.

He couldn’t, however, say the same for Ino. A lot of care and effort went into Ino’s presents, and that wasn’t lost on him, but they were still difficult to receive. They were often handmade, despite her questionable skill at anything, and often more of a creative outlet for her most recent obsession than for anything else.

A few years back, she had decided to take up crocheting, and for his fifteenth, he received a half-finished scarf and gloves that would’ve only fit a child or certain breeds of dog. The following year, that hobby disappeared from her arsenal and was replaced immediately by drawing. As a result, what ended up in Shikamaru’s hands on the evening of his sixteenth birthday was a portrait of their team that, had she not correctly drawn the silhouettes of their thankfully unmistakable haircuts, would’ve been completely unrecognisable.

It put to shame Shikamaru’s approach of sticking some money in a card and calling it a day. But that didn’t change his method—in fact, however much he groaned upon receiving the gifts, he liked to think that his money went towards whatever new hobby and subsequent crap ended up in his hands the following year.

He still wore the scarf, put the portrait on his wall — albeit obscured by an ambassador conference photograph he was suspiciously pleased to own — and nailed the reaction of dubious excitement whenever he unwrapped one of her gifts.

Ino always had a happy birthday, and by extension, whatever she dragged him into, Shikamaru’s never turned out half bad, either.

However, with the loss of their fathers, Shikamaru half expected the tradition to die at eighteen.

Without Shikaku there to push him and Inoichi there to fuel Ino’s excitable plans, he had somewhat assumed that nothing would be pushed. That their first birthday without them should be a celebration felt wrong, and so he was ready to hole up alone in his room, save for his mother’s occasional intervention that he should eat something.

And yet, on the evening of the twenty-second, after a late start and an afternoon of moping, Shikamaru somehow found himself at the Yamanaka’s front door, armed with a hopeful smile and a poorly wrapped candle-making set tied with a florist's bow; a new hobby when his friend needed it most.

When Ino opened her front door, he had never seen a smile so wide.

“Happy birthday,” he had said, extending the gift, but Ino scooted right around his arm to engulf him in a ginormous hug.

They only missed one birthday celebration, and through no fault of their own.

Well, Ino insisted it was his fault. After all, it was Shikamaru who had married Temari and got her pregnant, Shikamaru who spent all of his twenty-first birthday in hospital waiting for the arrival of his son, and Shikamaru who had rung her in the early hours of the twenty-third, giddy with tiredness and joy as he told her, “He’s here.”

Ino barely slept a wink with anticipation that night and scurried about all morning, waiting for a call to say she could hurry over to the hospital and congratulate her best friend. Sai ended up taking the call — a blessing, really, considering she might’ve deafened Shikamaru with her squeal of excitement — and the two met with Choji at the hospital entrance with a big, beaming smile.

“Happy birthday,” he said to her, bouncing on the spot. He looked tired, though Ino guessed that was more down to his young daughter’s sleeping pattern than the excitement that had put similar bags under her eyes.

The moment she reached him, she pulled him into a tight hug. “Thank you,” Ino giggled. “Do we know what room he’s—”

“Twenty-three, he told me.”

Ino grinned. “Really?”

“I know,” chuckled Choji. “Perfect coincidence.”

“That’s not a coincidence,” said Ino with a laugh. “That’s the universe working its magic.”

She linked her arm through Choji’s and the other through Sao’s and swiftly dragged them forward through the lobby to the elusive room twenty-three. When they arrived, the door was open to Temari sipping on a cup of tea in bed, and her head turned immediately, her clear tiredness barely wearing reflexes.

“Hi,” said Ino gently, her Cheshire grin overwhelming her face. “Hi, congratulations.”

Temari mouthed a small, ‘Thank you,’ before taking another sip of his tea.

“Where is he?” Choji said from beside her, and Ino took a step forward into the room as Temari smiled and nodded silently towards the corner of the room.

Reclined in a chair, his hair falling messily across his shoulders and his shirt laid out across his lap, Shikamaru snoozed peacefully. His hands cradled the little bundle on his chest that moved with each of his deep, mesmerising breaths.

“They’ve been like that since he got off the phone with you,” Temari mumbled. “Little guy is a dream, he went straight off to sleep and obviously, Shikamaru went right off with him.”

Ino gave a little chuckle. “Of course,” she smiled and turned to her friend. “Did you choose a name yet?”

“Shikadai.”

“Shikadai,” Ino repeated. “He’s so small.”

Her eyes burned, and her face flushed as Sai wrapped his arm around her waist to place a hand on her stomach. Instinctively, her hand covered his, her thumb tracing his knuckles, and a warmth spread throughout her body as she leaned into him.

It was only a few more months until it was her turn to cuddle a newborn she could call her own, only a few months before she fulfilled a dream she’d wished for her whole life. But in that moment, though it was there somewhere inside, that thought barely registered. She was too focused on the peaceful way they slept and the happy smile on her friend’s face even how they slept.

“It seems like Shikamaru had a good birthday then, even without you,” Choji whispered to her, and she elbowed his gut with a smirk.

Ino turned to see his smile and passed him the bunch of flowers she had brought for Temari. His heavy footsteps took him to her bedside, and he placed them next to her with a smile.

“What do you think, Temari?” he asked. “Do you think Shikamaru had a good birthday?”

“Oh, fuck no,” she scoffed. “I nearly broke his hand, he fainted twice, and I was giving him hell.”

Just as Ino began to giggle, a voice from behind her mumbled, “Nah, it was perfect.”

She turned to see Shikamaru watching her with one eye, his thumb mindlessly stroking up and down his son’s back with a gentle smile.

“Happy birthday,” he said. “Sorry I missed our party.”

Ino shrugged. “You had an okay excuse, I guess.”

“Just okay?”

“Mhm.” She cocked her head to one side. “Good job that you’ve given me a pretty awesome gift, then, isn’t it?”

Shikamaru frowned slightly until she nodded to the little bundle on his chest.

“Someone else to share my birthday with,” she smiled. “For real this time.”

“Shikadai…” His voice was tired from the hundredth attempt of prying his son from his new game, which he was already cursing his brother-in-law for buying. “Come on, it’s time to go.”

Shikadai whined. “Do we have to?”

“Yes, son. We do.”

“But, Dad, I—”

“No ‘buts’, young man!” they heard Temari yell from the other room. Both father and son jolted slightly at the sound but were otherwise undisturbed by such a common occurrence.

“There you go,” mumbled Shikamaru. “Come on, your mother will have my neck if we don’t get a move on. Aunt Ino, too.”

“But, Dad?”

“Yes, Shikadai?”

“Why do we have to have birthday parties with Aunt Ino on your birthday when it’s not mine or hers until tomorrow?”

Shikamaru leaned against the threshold with a knowing smile, raising his eyebrows as his son tapped away at the controller of his game console.

“Because we always have,” he said softly. “It’s tradition.”

Shikadai let out a small groan as ‘Game Over’ flashed across the screen. He dropped the controller and lay back on the floor, staring at Shikamaru with a familiar frown. “It’s boring sharing parties with adults,” he muttered.

“Yeah?”

The little boy nodded. “Inojin doesn’t think so. But he only had to share one with Uncle Sai once. Not every year like I do and—”

“Would you rather have a party with Inojin?”

His face changed, though Shikamaru couldn’t quite read it. “I mean, no,” he said eventually, rolling onto his side. “But Inojin would. He’s been going on about it for ages.”

“But his birthday isn’t until—”

“December, I know.” Shikadai’s eyes rolled. “But you know Inojin. He has an idea…”

“And he’s set to do it,” Shikadai continued with a chuckle. “So what, you want to delay your birthday to share it with Inojin to make him happy?”

Shikadai shrugged. “I already don’t celebrate on my birthday,” he said, indifferent, “what’s another month or whatever?”

His father’s smile widened, and he pushed off the threshold to reach out his hand and help up his son. he pulled Shikadai into a hug and pressed a kiss atop his head.

He decided, as Shikadai caved and wrapped his arms around his father's waist, that tradition was probably in safer hands than it had ever been before.

I have 2 brain cells and both of them are focused on Rock Band AU in modern setting with Temari, Kankuro, and Gaara!!

Gaara with deep black ring make up around his eyes. Lead singer even though he’s a little guy (he has a lot of pent up rage and I think screaming lyrics to heavy metal could be good for him <3 )

Kankuro wearing all black with purple face paint. He’s already THE alt icon. I love him. He def has piercings. He is the drummer, because he is not given as much attention as his other siblings in canon so it could be kind of a parallel and also drummers are hot and I make the rules around here.

Temari!! My queen!!!! Temari definitely had a phase where she wore super exaggerated black and white makeup and she looked absolutely terrifying (and gorgeous) doing it. She is a guitar player!! I don’t know enough about guitars to say what kind but she is wonderful and I just know she could be amazing at it if she wanted to. She shreds like a pro. Because she’s the best. She also does backup vocals for the band.

Their father was their manager and then he got cancelled or smth or idk but Baki became their new manager because I said so. And the little monster sealed inside of Gaara in the anime? It is now his feral cat. Everyone hates it. Gaara included. It’s okay. The cat eventually learns to love Gaara. Their fans love the little hellion too.

As for ships I also have Thoughts about other bands in the Band AU!!!!!!!!!

InoShikaCho is something. I’m not sure. Ino is the lead vocalist. She has like pop music vibes but Choji and Shikamaru don’t so maybe they make just really Good generic music? Stuff that’s always on the radios. I don’t know. Shikamaru does not sing, thank you very much. He could rap if he wanted to though.

You already know that Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke could be super complicated as a band because they Did Not get along as genin. Whatever. They aren’t my problem. I’m ignoring them. But they’re really good and Gaara definitely had a crush on Naruto at some point.

Neji, Tenten, and Rock Lee are an interesting trio to think about. Tenten raps for sure, because she’s pretty and I think she could be a badass rapper. Neji is the leader of their band and he writes their music too. Main vocalist vibes. Tenten also helps write music and can play like any instrument ever. Rock Lee is for sure tearing it up with swag dance moves. Gai, their manager, is definitely big on choreography. They’re more of a mainstream rap or hip hop group, but I think they have a background in other music genres.

Oh jeez. My personal favorite, Team 8!! Kiba’s everything.. Hinata with her shy demeanor.. Shino’s literal trench coat that covers him from head to toe. I don’t know. I love them all to death but they’re weird and forgettable to everyone but me it feels like. They’re alt, maybe an indie band? Or maybe not? I don’t know I think Shino plays guitar for them. Kiba is on drums maybe? Or maybe he is also on guitar. Maybe Shino plays drums? They’re hard. But imagine Kiba smugly going at with some killer vocals and making eye contact with an unimpressed Kankuro in the crowd. Battle of the bands babyyy. Hinata had a pretty voice but she is super shy about singing which leads to confidence issues because Hanabi has no problem singing in front of large crowds. So Hinata doesn’t sing but she eventually does after pursuing a solo career when their band naturally disbands because they have different paths in life they want to follow. Shino becomes a teacher lmao. Anyways I’ve decided Kiba with lead vocals. Everything else is not worth my time. What other teams are there again? It’s not like anyone cares enough to read this anyways. It’s mostly for me. Wait I think I got all of the rookie 12. Did I? OH MY GOD I ALMODT FORGOT AKAMARU I’m so sorry. Yeah Akamaru is Kiba’s dog and he goes on tour with them.

Nobody else is important to me. I mean I guess I could do some side characters.

The Sannin were a super popular band back in the day, with Jiraiya on lead vocals and the other two as backup vocals. Orochimaru was a master of guitar and any stringed instrument really. Tsunade SLAYED on drums. OH IDEA. Sakura plays drums and Sasuke is on guitar with Naruto on main vocals! But anyways the sannin have a major break up after Jiraiya decides to leave the band right after one of their biggest tours like ever, effectively cutting off the other two’s career in a band. Kaito Dan, a stage tech who is also Tsunade’s fiancé, dies in a car accident with Tsuande on the way to one of her gigs. She is too traumatized to ever sing or play on stage again. She runs off to get drunk and gamble. Orochimaru gets in good with Danzo before eventually getting cancelled (and being forced to take the blame for Danzo) when it is found he is mistreating the new talent in attempts to make a perfect singer to make them money or something I don’t know. He runs off and does small gigs but mostly pursues higher education and getting a ridiculous amount of degrees. He has the money so he just keeps getting them. I don’t know it’s funny to me. He takes on an apprentice named Kabuto and then another named Kimimaro. Is that how u spell that? Idk.

Uhmmm Minato was a really good singer but he and his fiancé died young, and while Minato had been briefly introduced to stardom it all ended when he and his fiancé died. Kushina died in labor and Minato literally died on the way home from the hospital. Super sad. Also Minato had been mentoring some kids, Kakashi and Rin and Obito. Uhm I choose for Obito to get an injury and like. Retire super early. Rin tries to make things work and then dies. I don’t know. Kakashi is traumatized but makes a successful life for himself. He becomes manager for Naruto and the other two. He also mentored Yamato and Yamato mentored Sai.

Favorite thing about them: Her looks. I know this sounds very superficial, to just focus on her physique, but I really like her design.

Something good that Kishimoto did is character design and I especially LOVE the design of his female characters, I can't choose a favorite.

Just why Kishimoto thought this was a good idea? It doesn't even make sense!

Ino barely interacted with Sasuke during the whole series, I understand that she had a crush on him when she was 12 but it's been 4 years since then and her reaction is to cry? Really? That reaction is more appropriate for Sakura and/or Naruto because they were on his team, they interacted with him almost daily, they were friends.

Ino and Sasuke didn't even speak to each other in fillers! I completely understand that his reaction wasn't indifferent, after all discovering that your classmate from when you were a child, that boy who was the best in the class, who was cute and his skills were quite impressive, the one who graduated with honors, the one you had a crush on is now officially a criminal and must be killed if seen. That really must be something.

But crying?

The only good thing about this is that all her friends are there to support her and i think that's so cute 🥺❤️🤲🏼

I live for the Konoha12+Sai being friends

Favorite line: Tbh I don't remember much about what she says, but 2 of her lines that I like is that time when they show us in a flashback how she became friends with Sakura telling so bluntly her that they bully her because she has a big forehead.

Lmaooo It was so funny, but I really like how she turned something Sakura was insecure about (her forehead) into something she should show and not care what others thought about it. That was very sweet.

Another line I really like is that time after their chunin exam fight when Ino told Sakura that she had blossomed into a beautiful flower.

OTP: Sakura x Ino. Although I don't actively seek content of them, it's the ship with Ino that I like the most (although Sai x Ino is not far behind)

nOTP: I don't really have any ships that I dislike, the closest thing to a nOTP would be Ino x any of her teammates (is just that I can't see them with any other relationship but a sibling relationship)

Fun fact: When I first started watching Naruto, I thought Ino and Shikamaru ended up together.

And when I said this to my cousins (who are the ones that got me into Naruto) they were like: No????

Me: But they look so good together

They: No????

(and they were right lol I don't understand how my past self could think that)

Random headcanon: The only headcanon I have for her is that she liked Sakura as kids and when she (Sakura) said that she liked Sasuke, Ino got jealous and started to “like” Sasuke and compete with Sakura for her attention (all of this unconsciously).

Unpopular opinion: She is very powerful.

I need to remind you of all the things she did in the fourth ninja war? Just to name a few

She entered the mind of a pseudo jinchuriki allowing them to seal him (and by doing this he saved Shikamaru's life btw)

She combined her sensory abilities with her mind transfer jutsu which allowed her to share her sensory abilities with a non-sensor (Shikamaru)

She entered Obito's mind to deflect a Juubi's attack

Twice

And I want to emphasize the part where she controlled the mind of a war criminal in his 30, who has the most broken Mangekyo ability in one eye and the rinnegan in the other, who has Hashirama cells in his body which enhance his abilities and who was currently controlling the juubi, a beast that is the combination of all the tailed beasts and is said that has the power of swallow oceans, split the land and carry mountains. The strongest creature on Earth.

That's just awesome.

You know who couldn't control Obito even before he had the Juubi at his disposal? Fu Yamanaka

One of Danzo's bodyguards and a member of ROOT

She connected to the minds of the WHOLE shinobi alliance twice

Once to coordinate an attack and the second to deliver a message from Hashirama

And sorry but her dad didn't need a machine to be able to do that?

And she was just 16.

In conclusion, if the mind could throw fists she would kick adult Naruto and Sasuke's asses.

Anyway, she may not be the strongest physically and we have to be honest, after everything I said I know that most of her generation would beat her in a fight, but she is a GREAT support ninja.

In fact, I can safely say that she is the second best sensory ninja in the entire series, only after Karin and sharing a place with Tobirama or being third place and Tobirama in second, I'm still not sure🤔

Ohohohoho YES a good one favorite thing about them: Ino: She's my girl, my love, my life, I adore what a baddy she is, that she isnt scared to run her mouth while still being typically feminine. You can be femme and strong, nothing wrong w that Shikamaru: Listen. He was my first love in this show. The OG boy right there. He's a lazy genius and when I was younger I related to him a lot, the way he knows things but doesnt put a lot effort into literally anything. Choji: He's a sweet potato, I adore him, and my favorite thing about him is how gentle he is! He is a gentle giant! And that is his strength!! I wanna hug him!

least favorite thing about them: Ino: The way she'd always cry about boys, dream about boys, everything about boys..... It was exhausting, I very much dislike that about her writing. Feels like a sexy lamp trope. Shikamaru: I have a love/hate relationship with him and his father.... What was wrong with that man, and why didnt Shikamaru say anything against that... Choji: Again, something about the way he is written, but I think it's a pity that his running gag was "Dont call him fat". Sure doesnt help w self-consciousness!

favorite line: Ino: "Beautiful Flowers Have Thorns Too, You Know!" - I think it just sums up her character perfectly. Shikamaru: "The Problem Is The World Won't Let Me Be A Kid Forever, So I Can't Lie Around Crying About It." - Because mood Choji: "You can mock me all you want, but if you insult my best friend, I'll obliterate you." - also a huge mood and I love him

1. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is?

Hey thanks for the ask! 🥰

The pairing that has consistently brought me back into the Naruto fandom when I’ve taken a step away is ShikaTema. I shipped them when the show was first airing here in the US on Cartoon Network in like 2008. Then I kinda fell off, and when I found out they became canon I was like WELP GOTTA FIND OUT HOW and dived back into a full rewatch of the series in 2017. I used to be an exclusive dub watcher, so when they stopped dubbing the Boruto anime after episode 50 something, I fell off again. Then 2020 rolled around, started feeling nostalgic, needed some comfort, and jumped right back into another rewatch and reread of the whole series to now I think I’m bound to the show for life. But again, it was always ShikaTema and how their love bloomed that would bring me back.

That being said, so many Naruto characters hold a special place in my heart. A few examples:

Loved Choji since day one. He’d be my foodie adventure buddy if he were real.

More recently, Sai has especially wiggled his way into my heart. I have the headcanon that he is demisexual as am I, so I relate to him on many different levels.

InoShikaCho and Sand Sibling supremacy have always been a standard for me. Give me more 15th Gen background stories, more grandma Yoshino, and more Uncle Kankuro content pleaseeeeeeee.

And with Boruto I just love all the kiddos. My goal is to have more of them, and specifically more ShikaJin in 2023 🤞🏻

I don’t know if I can pick one singular favorite character or ship from Naruto. Every fanfic I read or write, and every fanart I see come across my social media dashes fills my heart with love for different characters and pairings all the time. That’s one of my favorite things about fan made media: it can make you see a character or pairing you hadn’t even considered before, but it’s done so well, it changes your mind/perspective and suddenly you’re hooked on something new.

At the end of the day, I just love to see people being happy. Whether it be little slice of life moments that have no plot, angsty tragedies with happy endings, or just two people coming together in love or friendship. No matter the characters or the pairings, seeing those kinds of interactions is what brings me joy. So, I guess you could call me an “equal opportunity fan” 😊

The Ame orphans, I could eat up everything about them, platonic, family or romantic. They're just so good together and have an incredible polyamory energy. I did a whole 180 on Obito fjjfjdkz at first I was so pissed at him for manipulating Nagato then I was like oh shit he's hot... And then they dropped his sad af backstory and I was like ok you're my blorbo too now and I started shipping him with Nagato. Same for Obikonan at first I was like meh... Now I think their dynamic is extremely good for shipping material

F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?

I fell in Naruto first in middle school and I'm still in it at 26 so that's it. That's the one fandom.

H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?

Love all of them, all medias have a lil smt they bring to my enjoyment. For Naruto I love the artstyle of the manga, it's gorgeous. The anime has the bonus of giving voices to them (I'm very into voices being able to hear Nagato's voice is such a treat, I'm so mad his va didn't do that many other roles that I can easily look up on yt). And I love the games for all the dumb shit and the being able to control your blorbo ability lol
