just saw this band with a cello player and it sounded so f good! and REGULUS OMG REGULUS PLAYING CELLO IN A SECRET ROCK BAND TO FOLLOW HIS OLDER BROTHER'S STEPS AND IN A WAY FEELING SIRIUS NOT SO DISTANT IF HE TRIES TO UNDERSTAND BUT HE DOESNT KNOW ANY OTHER INSTRUMENT +piano (even tho a cello player can easily understand how to play the bass, at least my friend did lol) SO HE JUST GO WITH HIS CELLO AND AHHHHHH NOW I NEED A FIC WHERE SIRIUS AFTER YEARS OF NOT SEEING REGGIE SEES HIM ON THE STAGE PLAYING A ROCK SONG WITH HIS F CELLO!!! Hello!! What are ur thoughts on a modern + band au? My favourite headcannons are with Sanji and Law being in a duo before the strawhats come tgt, with both of them doing vocals, Sanji on guitar and Law on bass. Luffy's looking really hard for a guitarist, then he stumbles upon one of their jam sessions and goes all like "JOIN MY BAND!!!" to both of them 🫶

I love it.

Sanji and Law being dumb and having no drummer. Just jamming in Cora-sans garage outside of them working. Both not really knowing what to do at the moment because yeah, they're doing fine, playing shows is fun, the scene in town is fun and their actual jobs are good. Where as Luffy keeps walking through this neighborhood hearing these people jam but the garage door is always shut. Zoro never lets him go and open it despite them needing a guitarist.

But one day the garage is open and Luffy's alone and there's two guys in the garage just laughing and playing chords and riffs back and forth as they smoke. Luffy is staring at them from the sidewalk before running into the garage and demanding they be in his band. They're both staring at him in confusion as Luffy demands they join again.

Cora-san popping his head into the garage and asking what's going on. Luffy is telling him they're joining his band and Cora simply goes 'sounds fake, okay' as he pulls his head back and closes the door. Sanji bursts up laughing as Law sighs and Luffy tells them when to meet up for practice and leaves. When they do actually show up to practice Zoro is staring wide eyed at them as Usopp sighs and Nami starts yelling at Luffy.

Eddie tapped his pen against his clipboard, sighing loudly as the second to last auditionee left the stage, accordion and all. He crossed the name out on his sheet. “Okay, no way in hell.”

He shook his head and glared when Gareth weakly protested, “He was okay…”

“No, man. My grandmother has more vocal talent than him, and she had a laryngectomy in fifty-five. Let’s hope this last guy is better, or we’ll have to put out more ads.” Eddie climbed up onto the table, sitting cross-legged on it. It had been a long day of auditions, and he wasn’t feeling particularly friendly. He double-checked his clipboard, then called out, “Steve Harrington? Come on out.”

The sound of footsteps echoed through the theatre. Eddie’s spine straightened a little at the figure who appeared from behind the curtain and stepped into the spotlight, his eyes narrowing.

First of all, Steve Harrington was preppy. There was absolutely nothing Corroded Coffin about this dude. He was perfectly coiffed. No piercings, no grease in his hair, no visible tattoos. From his clean white t-shirt to his mom jeans, down to his sporty Nike’s, he couldn’t be less metal if he tried.

Secondly, he was gorgeous. There were no ifs, ands or buts about that. Eddie fought to keep his indifferent, slightly disgruntled expression on his face. Fought harder to keep his heart from beating a little faster.

This was stupid. There was no way this fucking angel-haired, Ken dolled, boy band of a man was going to have their sound.

Eddie’s pen was already poised beside Steve Harrington, about to cross it out.

Then Harrington leaned into the mic, introduced himself with a confidence and swagger reminiscent of Presley, and started singing.

Eddie’s wrist jerked, his pen halting. His eyes widened. Behind him, Gareth and Jeff shared an equally wide-eyed look, Gareth grinning like a loon.

Well, shit.

…So, maybe Eddie was wrong.
