I rediscovered this song “you smell of dead flowers” and the last few lines immediately reminded of solar and his sun and I just grgrhergraragh!!!!!

“You smell of dead flowers / I smell of the sewer I rot in” has the vibe of solar thinking back on his sun, who maybe once had a sweet scent to him but the memory has since been tarnished and twisted with grief that dead flowers are the only thing that come to mind. that, paired with the next line, gives the impression that he puts himself below his sun; that he is something that rots and pollutes(“because if I wasn’t, my sun wouldn’t be dead, right?”).

The next lines hammer that in some more, with “I’m ashamed of all I am now / and all I am now / is painful” really cementing the vibe of his low self worth and I just. I just!!! Idk!!! It makes me terribly emotional to think of their dynamic and how solar could harbor a lot of grief, regret, and self hatred because of what he “did” to his sun and i’m just. ueueueue,,,,,

ok random ramble but like. I was thinking about ruin one day and I have seen a few role swap aus with gregory and cassie floating about and now I can’t stop thinking on how even MORE tragic it would be if gregory was the main character in ruin instead of cassie

NO BECAUSE THINK ABOUT IT. gregory is the one who found cassie alone on her birthday party because none of her friends showed up so greg did. he was the ONLY person at her birthday party and became her best, if not her first TRUE friend. then ruin comes along and “cassie’s” calling gregory for help, which he goes in the pizzaplex to go save her (which proves even more that he cares a lot about her) only to realize it wasn’t even her in the end AND WHEN HE REACHES THE ELEVATOR CASSIE BETRAYS HIM AND DROPS HIM DOWN THE SHAFT. if you look at it from greg’s perspective in this scenario; you encounter someone alone on her birthday and you become her best AND most likely first friend, then when she calls for help you go to the abandoned Pizzaplex JUST TO SAVE HER, only to be betrayed while the only if not the last thought in your mind is: “what did I do wrong?”
