What does Clearsight look like in your style, I remember that you said that her eyes would be almost always in the prophecy state and I was wondering how that'd look like.

I drew her a while back but my style has changed a lot since then - I'm thinking nowadays of giving her a shattered glass/sapphire theme, representing the facets of the future, the broken future, and the threads that connect them all. A little bit more blue leaning/sapphire, since sapphires were historically a stone of prophecy.

This is technically her future sight look, her eyes would be normally black and purple when not future seeing, but since she does it almost all the time, this gemstone-like look in her eyes is usually what you'll see. Also gave her more glass/gemstone look in her scale patterns, maybe even a calico look, since I don't use large spots like that often in my designs. Also gave her darker under-eye scales to represent insomnia. Will probably tweak this in the future, especially the face shape (wanna make it more unique, this shape is a tad basic) but it's a good starting point.

Ngl I just went in and typed in the character's name into the search bar, and then if there were multiple options I went through until I found one I liked the most!

VioletRouge has the best spider demon ones(Queen, Syntax, Huntsman, and Goliath(who I haven't spoken to just yet!)), along with an Emperor Azure bot(VERY NICE) and Princess Iron Fan (praying one day there will be DBK, might make one myself as a trial run)!

I'm a simple man with simple tastes...AKA Legos that have no right being this attractive.

sonic forces au stuff i drew a few days ago, but couldn't post cuz the tumblr app says there's a problem w connection each time i try to post images.....tumblr really said nuh uh

I’m sorry you are not a baby who needs to be spoonfed morals like a Disney movie, you are supposed to know what bad people do is bad without needing media or someone to tell you that explicitly (as adults I mean, for kids it is of course different, kids do need to be taught morals. Teenagers also should have developed some)

I guess we can assume overusing the Phantom Ruby also gave Infinite amnesia, but has yet to be discovered? Hence why we never see him in IDW? That or maybe someone will go pay money to hopefully get that specific question asked by Flynn himself. Jacko Edgelord certainly dodged a bullet by being off the table, that much we can be thankful for.

I found Flynn explaining why Infinite hasn't appeared in IDW, in 2019:

Q: Hello! Do you happen to have any plans for Infinite in the IDW comics? He had kind of a mysterious end in Sonic Forces, and I was wondering if you guys had any plans for him in the future?

F: Uhm, SEGA has asked that we not use Infinite for the immediate future, nothing more than that, just "please don't"; and if he shows up in future games, I'm willing to bet that'll open the door for him to show up in the comic again, but for now he is off-limits. But that's okay, because I haven't gotten through the list of characters that we currently have available! So, by the time we get through everybody and give them [?], sure we'll have access to Infinite, we'll see, I don't know!

K: As it just might be for story reasons, like they're planning on using him in a later game or something too?

F: Maybe! I don't know!

K: Who knows what they're thinking, could be anything, maybe they aren't thinking! Who knows!

F: I am not privy to those discussions.

So yeah, a long way to say "SEGA told me to not use him and didn't tell me why". (also kyle why do you feel like talking all the time)

I think that for the longest time, before that last Sonic Channel story, Infinite was simply presumed dead. He was reabsorbed in the Phantom Ruby that Eggman used to power up his Death Egg Robo, and then, IIRC, the Ruby got destroyed. And maybe uhhhhh the energy unleashed by the Ruby is what caused Eggman's brain damage in IDW? But now I feel that I'm thinking harder than Flynn did back then lmao.

have you done a design for snowfall? Sorry if you have and this is annoying!

Here's her design from the design project, but that's a tad old and I've revamped my icewing design, so here's a slightly more updated version!

Wanted her to look fairly sharp, but still a bit small and not quite as intimidating as some other icewings. She doesn't have impressive horns or forehead spikes, like she has no crown or anything on her head she can be proud of (she has to replace it with metal crowns instead.) I gave her a colorpoint look, mostly because I haven't used that yet, and also because it kinda makes her look a little more like a nightwing for symbolism. Also maybe a Siamese cat and Siamese cats never stop talking /affectionate

Any tips on writers block and/or writing itself?

Hmmm.....perhaps? Here's what I ask/tell myself as I write ✍️🤠

Write what you love. I don't like writing things that don't make me happy/fulfilled in some capacity. Like I've said before(especially for fluffy/romantic content!) If I don't have a stupid grin once I'm done I go back and rewrite! For more emotional stuff, I think of stuff I've read that's made me feel feelings and try to figure out how it got that way

It doesn't have to be perfect. Period. It doesn't matter how long you've been writing, you know your own skill level/strengths/weaknesses. Vibe with it!

Ambience. For me, I need some kind of noise or sensory thing to get me in the zone. For my bakery request I had animal crossing music on and I sped through it bc the vibes were right :)) there are lots of YouTube playlists/videos/channels dedicated to writing ambience!

Look up those silly dialogue prompts or trope lists!! Find one you love and build around it!! If you find yourself stuck, maybe look at an alternative one and see if you can get further!

Getting stuck sucks. When I took my composition class in highschool my teacher told us that no matter what, keep writing something. Even if it's the same word over and over, keep going until something new pops up in your head!

Don't force yourself. In my personal experience I've tried to sit in front of a blank doc and try to picture stuff in my head but I could never get it through to the keyboard. If you honestly don't feel up for it, you don't have to. If you can only get a few words or sentences down, don't feel bad.

Sometimes you have to start at the end of a story. Most of the drabbles I write, I think of the ending before I think of the beginning. I knew I wanted Spider Queen to accept the reader and Redson being together, but from there I had to retrace the reader's steps! How was the confession? Did they have to sneak off? It's very much like "hey, you might be wondering how I got in this situation. Well, lemme tell ya"

Atlas analysis when?

Sure why not. 

While digging through the lyrics of Infinite’s theme for whatever scraps of characterization I'd overlooked (and kicking myself for forgetting it existed as a philosophy to his character), one of the lines stuck out to me:

“I don't crumble for nothing / I've got the world on my shoulders” 

Which doesn't seem like anything. Maybe it is nothing. But why would Infinite feel the weight of the world on his shoulders?

The lyrics are meant to convey Infinite's massive ego confidence in his abilities. The entire song is a threat, building up his reputation to quell any acts of rebellion against him. A good part of it does highlight his sense of strength and resilience, which would make a casual allusion to the myth of Atlas seem reasonable. Yet “I've been up against better” and “I was born in this pain” don't convey the sense of sheer responsibility that “the world on my shoulders” does.

Unfortunately I’m not the Greek Mythology guy, but the myth of Atlas is well-known. The great Titan Atlas holds the world on his shoulders (though initially it was the heavens. Not entirely relevant since the modern phrase still comes from the myth.) not because of some divine commitment. He receives that responsibility as a punishment. A punishment for losing a war. 

Atlas was the leader of the Titans in the Titanomachy, the war between the Titans and the Olympians for control over the universe. He's the nephew of Cronus, the actual tyrant that Zeus and the Olympians are overthrowing, but Atlas serves as a second in command; a commander over their armies. Infinite… is the second-in-command for the Eggman Empire. He was recruited to lead Eggman's armies in a war to control the world. And Infinite loses that war.

The difference between Atlas and Infinite is their punishment for losing. Most of the other Titans are sent to Tartarus after the war, initially sent to rot for eternity. Atlas, however, was given the special punishment of carrying the weight of the world…heavens. You get it. Infinite was sent to some sort of oblivion, at least as far as we know. He gets completely removed from the narrative so we'll count it. I’m still mad about it. 

But that happens after the war. The song is used in the game, during Infinite's proper introduction with Sonic and Silver. It's completely in the background but it's there, nondiegetically. The song isn't meant to take place after the war. It's during the war, where Infinite refuses to see the concept of losing, where he's warning people not to stand in his way.

So why does he feel that crushing sense of responsibility? What is he being punished for? 

It's a relatively small line, but it opens up a question towards what Infinite's mindset is. Obviously he's confident, but he's also hammering the point that he has suffered and is still suffering. The song isn't entirely a threat. It's meant to be, but Infinite kinda can't keep his shit together. I'm not certain if this line really meant anything more than to show that he’s a tough guy. But the little parallels are too damn interesting to ignore.

In my mind, I could see that line being another reference towards losing the Jackal Squad. He feels responsible for what happened and it weighs on him. I'm sure it weighed on Atlas to know he was one of few Titans to see the light of day, even if he had his own torture to endure.
