This is a gift I started probably 4 years ago. In the past I’d be disappointed with how my painting skills have degraded. But me of right now says this is for someone who loves me and won’t judge the paint job. I can always keep practicing.

Monster High characters that are autistic because I (an autistic person) said so
Frankie - you KNOW this bitch has awful situational awareness and will copy other people/say random quotes.
Ghoulia - nonverbal gnc they/them ass MOTHERFUCKER
Jackson and Holt - these two are on complete opposite ends of every spectrum—holt needs reassurance on ANYTHING and frankie will engage in jackson’s ramblings
Abbey - THE most direct mf with the BIGGEST flat effect (affect?)
Spectra - her special interest is People
Scarah - tbh i dont have a big reason, it’s just the vibes
Robecca - now you KNOW this bitch has every vine in her vocabulary
Gooliope - she needs to get what her mind is set on DONE
Jane - reads EVERYTHING so FUCKING precisely, actually
Luna - theatre kid
Lilith - again, it’s just the vibes dude just trust me

That irrational impulse to want to put myself in Jane Boolittle's shoes and write about the monstrous world of MH. Like a bestiary of monstrous animals, a guide to the biology of different types of monsters and/or an encyclopedia of monstrous plants!!IT WOULD BE SO FUNNY!!
In fact, it would be cool to create a Tumblr tag where everyone puts together their own monster biology sheet. In my opinion it would be interesting and fun. The labels could be names of these supposed books! Example(English is not my native language, so don't expect puns):
"The Great Atlas of Montruosa Biology" By Jane Boolittle.
"Basic Guide to Beasts" by Jane Boolittle.
"Creepy Botany: How to Avoid Being Eaten by Your Houseplant" by Jane Boolittle and Venus McFlytrap.

*Image ID: A purple girl surrounded by 6 animals. Said purple girl has fizzy look purple hair with pink streaks kept in a ponytail, pink snake eyes, pink goat horns, scale details, a neutral facial expression, a light teal headband with pink accents, two wings, one dragonic and one bird-like, lion ears, a purple reptilian tail, a magenta tank top, a fluffy short sleeve dark turquoise jacket, a teal and pink skirt, and turquoise sandals. The animals around her consist of a bright blue owl on the top left, a black bat wearing a pink bow and bow tie on the top right, a pink fish with big blue eyes on the middle left, a stitched up brown winged dog on the middle right, a turquoise snake with a golden crown and three necklaces on the bottom left, and a purple cat with a crescent collar on the bottom right. End ID]
Day 7, animal friends! I had a specific idea I could not fit into Power Wasting Curse but hey, a Jane! I kinda wanted her to be a bit more crazy design wise, I don’t like how there was this whole mystery with what monster she was and she was just like. Purple. So I went a little crazy and made her more of a chimera lol. Also surprisingly Cresent is the character I draw multiple times for this challenge instead of like anyone else

There is a detail in Hoodude's diary that I think could connect to Jane Boolittle's origin.
As a Monster High lore fanatic, I often browse the Monster High wiki, which has typed transcripts of all the diaries. Searching for articles featuring the word witch linked to a transcript for Hoodude's diary. His diary explains that his sentience is due to the fabric used to make his body. The second sentence states "especially because the material Frankie used to make me was actually a gift to Dr. Stein from a witch doctor that he had worked with in the past." This statement is clarifies how Frankie accidentally made a sentient doll, but I think it could have a deeper meaning.
The phrase witch doctor, while never used in any official media to describe Jane Boolittle, is a common interpretation of her design and real world inspiration. A reference to a witch doctor in Monster High on its own doesn't necessarily refer to Jane, and has a logic being connected to the origin of an animate voodoo doll, but this detail might connect to her pet sloth Needles. Needles is referred to as a voodoo sloth, which doesn't refer to any actual vodou beliefs or practices, but seemingly refers to his status as an animate doll. (As a side note, I can see any future appearances of Needles and Hoodude using the term poppet. Seeing as g3 Twyla not using any dream catchers, it seems Mattel wants to avoid any potential issues with cultural appropriation.) Needles not explicitly described as a living plushie, but his body has seems that suggest he is some sort of simulacrum. This means Monster High one animate doll character whose cloth was a gift from a witch doctor, and another living doll who is the pet of a character with heavy witch doctor imagery. I may be looking too deep in this, but Jane is my favorite MH character, so I really wanted to share this observation.

last year, we saw a shadow in the waves - silver silhouette in an artist's instagram. we followed the artist and liked their style so much we were going to commission them. they offered an existing artwork, so...
it's here now, and it's ☀️ , and it's 🌑's . a shadow of the Sun, some sort of :) (and we hope to find a chain strong enough to carry this little image with us wherever we decide to go)
