Joe’s POV

I think this family gathering was a horrible idea as I’m watching Mama Tanya and Aunt Sandra look like they are about to kill each other. “Mama, get Aunt Sandra,” I whispered as she shook her head in defiance at me.

“No, Joe I ain’t getting in it, and neither are you. She opened her mouth and looks like she bout to catch the fallout,” my mom said shrugging her shoulders. Sighing in defeat, I turned around to look at the disaster before me.

“Why you gotta bring up old stuff, I’m trying to make it right!” Sandra screams at Shantell’s mom.

“I don’t want my daughter and grandchild mistreated,” Tanya replied getting in Sandra’s space. “I think you just mad Shan and I had got so close, and she wasn’t flying out to Ohio to see you as much. We were her new family, and you know I would never hurt that baby,” Sandra says smugly.

“No, I’m mad because you harassed my baby, interfered in her relationship. You overstepped your place as a mother and caused my child pain! Then had the nerve to be mad at Shantell because that Taraji character played your whole damn family,” Tanya said without fear.

“I wanted my grandchild to have a family and a name of legitimacy!” Sandra exclaimed, getting frustrated at Tanya for not understanding her point of view.

“Please make them stop,” Shantell whispered as Jey took her hand trying to calm her down. “Ma, I think we need to stop and calm down,” Jey said trying to stop the drama before it got worse.

“Boy, I’m yo mama, shut up! The grown folks are talking, finish what you were saying Tanya,” she said firmly as Jey backed up towards Shantell knowing everything was about to get messier than it already was.

“ I said in the end you looked like an asshole, the trollop wasn’t pregnant, and you almost lost your son because of your need for perfection,” Tanya said smiling at the angry look on my aunt’s face.

“You just gotta keep pushin don’t you? A true bitch till the end,” Aunt Sandra said frustrated as Tanya laughed at her.

“Damn right I do, now you gotta live with the fact that the girl you wanted to push outta his life is actually pregnant with your grandchild,” Tanya said without missing a beat.

You could see she had touched a nerve, as my aunt jolted back like she has been burned with hot coals. Then without warning, she slapped Shantell’s mom; it was like everything stopped. Ah, shit it’s on, and ain’t no stopping it.

Shantell’s POV

“Mama are you ok!” I screamed, not believing what was happening. I tried to go over to her but Joe and Jey held me back. “Stay right here baby,” Jey said trying to block me from the drama.

“I ain’t stayin’ nowhere! You need to get yo damn mama!” I yelled as Joe held me tighter. “I know yo temper, you stay yo lil ass right here. We don’t need you getting hurt,” Joe said as I stopped fighting against him.

“Dis shit gon’ be bad,” Jimmy said to Trin as he pulled her close to him. “Maybe you need to step in, Jon before somebody gets hurt” Trin said, her expression matching mine of pure shock. This was a hot ass mess and how quickly everything went downhill has me stumped as fuck. Thank God Solo, Sofia, and Tangela aren’t here yet to see this.

Trin’s POV

“Thank you for that, Tanya whispered looking at Sandra like she was about to snap at any moment. “What you mean?" Sandra started questioning but was cut off by Tanya punching her dead in the eye with such force it made my eye hurt. "Sweet Jesus!" I yelled cringing at the sound of her fist connecting with her target.

“Oh shit!” Jimmy screamed, running towards his mom to check on her as she was nursing her eye. Welp, this escalated quick as hell, I can’t believe this shit. “Thanks, for provoking me,” Tanya smirked looking at Sandra moaning in pain as Jimmy is holding her up trying to make sure she was ok.

“Dad you ain’t gon’ do nothin!?” Jey yelled as Papa Kish waved him off. “Nah, they need to settle this shit. My grandbaby gon’ need both of them, so they need squash this. let’em fight,” he said honestly as Jey and Jimmy looked at their dad like he was crazy.

“Pops this is crazy!” Jimmy exclaimed as his dad cut him off. “Move out the way Jonathon, let’em go,” he responded calmly without any room for argument. The minute Jimmy let her go, she ran at Shantell’s mom, tackling her into the pool. “Oh my God!” I screamed, not believing what the hell I was seeing it was truly grandmas gon’ wild.

Shantell’s POV

“Mom stop it!” I screamed as she clocked Sandra again but this time with a right hook.

“I’m going to kill her!” my mom yelled, it almost seemed like a dance. They were trading blows, grabbing hair, bobbing up and down in the pool literally trying to kill each other.

“Not if I kill you first!” Sandra yelled as all of our faces were glued to the water looking at them trying to tear each other apart. “Somebody please stop them!” I pleaded as my mom grabbed Sandra by her hair and dunked her head under the water.

“You need to be baptized! Cleanse yo evil ass, all the shit you been doing!” My mom screamed as Sandra was fighting to come back up. “Come on pops break this up,” Trin pleaded as he let out an exhausted sigh. “Please papa somebody gon' get hurt," I pleaded trying to get past Jey as he held me in place.

"Alright boys break it up," Papa Kish ordered as Joe and Jimmy jumped in the pool finally breaking up the fight.

“She started it!” my mom yelled as Joe picked her up sitting her on the edge of the pool. Meanwhile, Jimmy was trying to get his mother under control, finally sitting her down a few feet from Tanya.

“Now I hope ya’ll got that all out yo systems because that was the first and the last time ya’ll do this. We are family whether either one of you likes it or not,” Papa Kish said looking at them both drenched and trying to catch their breath.

“Everybody let's go inside while these two work this mess out,” he said giving them one final look before walking inside the house with the rest of us following closely behind trying to give them some privacy.

In spite of all that had just happened, I couldn't help but smile seeing Solo come inside the house holding Cameron close, leading Sofia inside. “Hey, sis what we missed?" He asked giving me a kiss on the cheek before walking into the living room.

“Bro, ya’ll missed everything,” I whispered to myself, closing the door behind me, shaking my head at all that had happened today.

Dinner

Shantell’s POV

I can’t help but feel nervous as I’m sitting in the lion’s den, I mean the Fatu family home. The tension is so high in here you could cut it with a knife.

Then the fight between my mom and Sandra left me stumped, confused, and a little angry. I still can't believe it as I'm looking at their disheveled faces and Sandra's eye that seems to be turning colors.

“Shantell, I’m so happy you and your mom came,” Papa Kish said as I smiled. “Thanks for having us,” I said looking at Sandra trying to get a feel for how this was going to go. “I say we don’t eat, she may try to kill us all,” my mom whispered as I gave her a pleading look to chill. “So, Tangela did you get cleared for your new building?” I asked her as she smiled.

“Girl, they gave me the run around, but we finally closed. Joe being home these next two months will definitely help me get things up and running,” she says excitedly as he kisses her hand. “I’m so proud of you baby,” he whispered as I smiled at them.

The silence was thick as we were grasping at straws to have some sort of conversation. “Sofia how has work been?” Sandra asks as Sofia looks at her in shock. “Um, it’s been busy,” she responds looking at Solo as he smiles at her encouraging her to talk to his mom.

“Uh, I think we need to address the elephant in the room. I heard about it earlier and I’m guessing you and Ms. Tanya have settled everything. I just wanted to address the sudden change of heart,” Sofia said looking at me and then Trin.

“Mrs. Fatu, you invited us here, which I’m thankful for but Sofia’s right. What made you want to turn over a new leaf,” Trin added as I shook my head in agreement.

Taking a deep breath, she began explaining herself. “I said some things that I shouldn’t have out of frustration, and don’t call me that. You know I love all ya’ll girls, it’s Mama Uce or just Ma,” Sandra said putting down her fork, looking around the table at the somewhat judging eyes.

“Shantell, you and I were very close, then Taraji came along saying she was pregnant by Joshua. I know I was wrong to tell you to leave him, but I was protecting my family,” she said as I felt Jey’s eyes on me as I was focused on his mom.

“What about after? Why keep making snide comments, I have never done anything but love your son and respect this family,” I said honestly really wanting an answer.

“I felt you were taking him away from me, all ya’ll were taking my babies away. It’s always been me and my boys. They were all I had while their father traveled the world, now I’m here alone,” Sandra said looking around the table at everyone wiping her tears.

“Mama we gon’ always be your babies but we have our own lives,” Jimmy started but was interrupted “Son, let your mama finish,” his dad said encouraging his wife to get everything off her chest.

“In my family the women always took care of the children, stayed home and I always wanted more but I never had the courage to step out,” she whispered. “So, you have resentment towards us?” Trin asked looking at her with tears in her eyes.

“No! Envy maybe but never resentment. I love all you girls even though I got to work on a better way of showing it,” she said wiping her tears, looking at my mother.

“I know me, and you had had it out earlier, we needed that. I also think it's agreeable to assume with everyone this is going to take time,” my mom said trying to voice her opinion without getting anyone upset. “Yea, I think baby steps are good,” Sofia said as several of us nodded in agreement.

“I agree," Trin and I said at the same time causing a light laughter to bounce throughout the room. “Hey, baby steps are all it takes,” Papa Kish says raising his glass. “Let’s toast,” he said raising his glass as we all joined in.

“I’ll do it,” Jey said taking over the toast as his dad smiled. “To new beginnings and family,” Jey said with a small smile as we toasted. I hope it truly was a new beginning ahead because this isn’t healthy for anyone.

Shantell’s House

Jey’s POV

“Good night, Muhammad Ali,” Jey joked as my mom rolled her eyes at him before going inside. “Good night son,” she said closing the door, giving us some privacy. “Today was insane,” Shantell sighed as I pulled her into my arms.

“Yea, it was but at least we are in a better place than we were before,” I whispered trying to point out the improvement. “Josh, our moms beat the shit outta each other today,” she groaned as I chuckled.

“Girl stop being modest, yo mama whooped my mama’s ass. Even tried to damn drown her ass. Remind me to never hurt you again, Ma may kill me and hide the body,” I said trying to lighten the mood.

“You are terrible,” she laughed slapping my shoulder. “I wish I could stay over, but I know your mom is here,” I said gently kissing her as she melted in my arms.

“You make this so hard,” she whined against my lips, grabbing me by my shirt. She pulled me closer reclaiming my lips in an even more powerful kiss. “Mmm, baby don’t start, I got three weeks before I can have you," I groaned nibbling on her neck.

Shantell’s POV

“Don’t you start,” I moaned as his hand began to roam under my shirt. I was under his spell until the porch light came on. We jumped apart like teenagers, both of us quietly snickering at the situation.

"This is all your fault," I whispered as he smirked at me. "I'm innocent, I just wanted a good night kiss, yo ass was trying to seduce me," he said as I playfully slapped his shoulder as he pulled me closer.

“Shantell, I know ya’ll ain’t out there giving the neighbors a show,” my mom accused us as Jey removed his hand from under my shirt trying not to laugh.

“No ma’am we are just saying goodnight,” I lied snickering as Jey laid his head on my shoulder shaking with laughter.

“Girl, gon’ tell that man to cut that car off, and get in this house. Hell, the baby already been made, and it ain’t like ya’ll can do anything right now anyway,” she said bluntly as Jey ran to cut off his car.

“Well, she didn’t have to tell you twice," I teased as he scooped me up in his arms. “Nope, you heard Ma, she invited me to stay,” he said as I laughed laying my head on his shoulder as he carried me inside…Yea, I'm definitely falling even more in love with this man every single day.

Family Meeting After Smackdown

Jey’s Bus

Jey’s POV

I can’t believe I’m standing here practically listening to Paul beg Shantell to give him some ideas to fix the shit they did at SummerSlam. They had Joe and Jimmy do a gaslighting promo on me. After snapping on everyone, I quit the WWE and walked out through the crowd.

“We wrote Jey out to give him a couple weeks home with you while you’re under doctor’s care. That also gives us time to decide where to go from here. I’m just saying, give me a couple ideas to take to the table with the writers Shantell,” Paul begged as Shantell continued to stare a hole through him.

“I told you I wasn’t talking to you,” Shantell said irritated rolling her eyes. Well damn, this is a first and I hate it because Paul is like a big brother to her. I hate to see them fighting because they make such a great team.

“Shan, come on I’ve apologized a thousand times, I’m trying to fix it,” he pleaded as she cut him off “No! You want me to fix it, and you get credit for it,” she accused as Solo snickered at the look of distress on Paul’s face.

“I told you the old man was just wanting to throw his weight around a little bit,” Paul said as Shantell covered her face with her hands and screamed. “ You didn’t stand up for them, this was their story and you let him dip his nose in it. Fuck him wanting to throw his weight around, you lied to them and to me,” Shantell said standing up, pacing in front of the bed.

Just when I didn’t think I could love this woman anymore, here she is in front of our boss, setting his ass straight about his failure to lead. She’s my ride-or-die and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

“Shantell, give him at least a starting point, you know I have been counting on this vacation. They could try to cancel it with all this goin’ on,” Joe said looking at Shantell with pleading eyes as we all sat in silence for a few minutes.

“Ugh…Fine, I’ll send him a couple ideas later this week,” she whispered as Joe ran up to hug her. “I owe you,” he whispered holding her tight. “You just enjoy your vacation with Tang,” she said hugging him back.

"Oh, and Levesque, you need to be planting the seed that Tamina needs help to fight Rhonda and Shayna. That will help bring Trin in next month," Shantell said shooting Tamina and Trin a smile.

Shantell’s POV

“Tonight is about trying to salvage the guy's storyline, not our upcoming one,” Tamina says looking nervous. “Girl, ya’ll are the bloodline, and it will help further the story because when Joe comes back, he was supposed to be trying to sway ya’ll to come over to his side and betray Jey," I said explaining the previous plans to her.

"He wants gold in his bloodline, that gives ya’ll the spotlight. We know Jey is coming to protect ya’ll even though he’s on the outs with Jimmy," I said as Trin smiled in understanding.

"I got ya, then Jimmy is going to be trying to stop me from joining or it could bring him back into the fold trying to keep us safe under Roman’s thumb," she said following my lead.

"Then when we are about two months out from mania, pull the trigger and let Jey and Jimmy feud. That alone will lead them to their dream match at Wrestlemania,” I said smiling as Jey and Jimmy did their secret handshake seeming to like the idea.

“I actually like it and have an idea since you brought that up,” Paul said looking at Heyman who wore a gleam in his eye that let me knew we were back on the right track.

"We need to call an emergency meeting with the other writers, Paul said coming over to hug me. “I guess I will hug you", I laughed as he hugged me tighter.

"Get some rest munchkin I’ll call you Monday," he said moving so Heyman could give me a hug as well. "You know we are going to fix this I promise, because we have all put in so much hard work. This isn’t going to be in vain,” he reassured me as I nodded giving him a kiss on the cheek as he smiled.

"Good night you guys be safe and enjoy the house show tomorrow," Paul said as they walked off the bus. Hopefully, everything could get back on the right track, as I looked at the comments online. Some fans seem to believe Jimmy, and others think he’s gaslighting Jey so I guess we shall see what happens from here.

Taraji’s POV

“I hate her, I swear to fucking god," I muttered to myself watching Jey’s SummerSlam vlog. This bitch is all over it, look at them looking so happy as they walked down the ramp before SummerSlam taking in the building and set.

“So, if I win I’m bringing yo sexy ass in the ring no questions asked,” Jey said smirking at her as she blushed. “I ain’t getting in there, you comin’ over to me,” she said laughing as he kissed her. “Why does he keep touching and kissing her, he was never like that with me.

“If I lose, I’ll give you the signal to go get Sam and get the bus running, we’ll haul ass and we’ll hit up McDonald's,” he said snickering as her eyes lit up. “Don’t threaten me with a good time,” she said as he held her hand, kissing it as they walked down to the ring. “I really hate this bitch, wait what did he say,” I whispered to myself, rewinding the video.

“I got yo cravings locked in my brain baby, I gotta make sure you and lil Uce good,” Jey said leaning over to kiss her. She’s pregnant……Nah, I didn’t hear that," I said out loud continuing to watch the video.

“If I may ask, What did you pray for?” Stu asked Jey as he got up off his knees. He seemed anxious as he paced back and forth, wringing his hands. Finally, he stopped and looked at the camera.

"In a couple months, I’m gon’ be a daddy man, continuing my own bloodline. Ain’t nothing betta than that Uce,” Jey said seeming to get emotional as he continued pacing waiting for his entrance.

“ So to answer your question, I prayed for health and strength; I prayed for my family. So, I'm bout to head out there and put on for my bloodline," Jey said spraying water on himself before hitting the curtain, heading to the ring.

"No!!!" I screamed throwing a bottle at the TV and breaking it. This bitch is pregnant. PREGNANT! That was supposed to be me!" I screamed in frustration as I knew now there was never a chance of Jey coming back to me.

OBGYN' Office, Pensacola, FL

Jey’s POV

I hate hospitals and after what happened to Shantell. I cringe whenever we drive by one. I can honestly say this is a good doctor visit though. "Shantell everything is looking good," Dr. Borden said as we both let out a sigh of relief. "Ok, so no complications," I asked looking at my son on the ultrasound machine.

" Mr Fatu the baby is fine, and if you’d like to know the sex we can draw blood to be sure," Dr. Borden said as Shantell smiled. "I told him we should be surprised, but he said he already knows it’s a boy," she said holding my hand as I couldn’t control my smile.

“I know because a reliable source told me,” I said smiling, kissing her hand. "Well we also need to talk about all this stress you’ve been under Shantell, it’s not healthy," he said giving her a stern fatherly look.

"I know Doctor Borden, I’m going to take it more seriously and avoid stress. Our child is our first priority and I will leave any situation that is causing me stress," Shantell said with determination as her words kind of really stuck with me as the doctor printed out a copy of the ultrasound.

"Good because I would really hate to see anything happen to you or this baby. You deserve to be happy and have your dreams come true," Doctor Borden said giving her a hug and shaking my hand.

"You ready to go, baby," I asked as she nodded, kissing me before she got dressed. I'm glad the doctor had good news for us but I still had some worries.

Shantell’s POV

“You’ve been quiet since we left the doctor,” I said as Jey grabbed my hand, placing it on my lap as we drove home.

“Would you ever leave me? I mean after what the doctor said about taking care of yourself, and stress he started as I gripped his hand tighter. “Josh, I’m still here, aren’t I?” I asked trying to drop the subject but he continued.

“If something is causing you stress, I wouldn’t blame you for leaving he said glancing at me with a sad smile. Even if it’s me that’s causing the stress, I would understand baby," he said, his voice sad and full of emotion. “Josh, can we drop this?” I asked as he pulled me into a kiss as we stopped at the red light.

“Just let me finish before I lose my nerve, if things get stressful let’s just promise to talk to each other and make the decision together, please,” he pleaded as I kissed him again. "Josh, we will be ok,” I assured him as we continued our journey home.

R&B Brunch Club

Joe’s POV

This little club is amazing and never disappoints as the DJ is walking in the crowd giving people a chance to sing along, finishing the lyrics when they cut the beat. I had invited Jey and Shantell to come out with us to get outta the house and have a little fun. We all needed it, and it was good to see them so carefree with everything that had been going on.

"I see you jammin', sangin' to yo man over there!” The DJ said pointing at Shantell. She was singing, swaying to the music with Jey. He had his arm wrapped around her waist, cheesing, and nodding in agreement with the words she was singing.

I got to admit it’s a vibe up in here right now, as I kissed my wife. She blushed, before laying her head on my shoulder. They were playing My First Love by Avant feat. KeKe Wyatt and the crowd was singing along at the top of their lungs.

I saw the DJ making his way over to our table with a spare microphone offering it to Shantell as she smiled taking it out of his hands. I swear somebody gon' have to surgically remove Jey's smile as he's waiting to hear her sing.

“You better sang that shit too!" I said hyping her up as she smiled at us, before turning back to Jey and began singing.

Tangela’s POV

I couldn’t help but smile, I didn't know Shantell could sing and she was singing the hell outta that song. She had Jey entranced as she wrapped one arm around his neck as he bit his lip slightly showing off his grillz, pulling her closer as she serenaded him.

Kill the beat!," The DJ shouted as Joe smiled, pulling out his phone, going live on his Instagram.

“Let him know what it is sis!”I shouted as she gazed into his eyes and began belting into the microphone.

It was amazing hearing the crowd singing the chorus, backing up Shantell. “Yea, you betta sang that shit, you my first love too," Jey said throwing a one up in the sky before leaning down kissing her neck holding her close as they swayed to the music.

“You gotta make sure he know that shit baby girl,” Joe said as Shantell gently pushed Jey to sit down. He was devouring her with his eyes as she leaned down singing to him, making sure he heard her.

Shantell leaned over to give Jey a kiss as he pulled her into his lap deepening the kiss as Shantell without looking passed the microphone back to the DJ. "Ok, I got to send Trin a picture," I whispered as I took a picture of them.

"No pictures, I look horrible," Shantell said laughing, seeing the flash as Jey turned her attention back to him taking her in another passionate kiss. "You look beautiful," he whispered to her caressing her face lovingly. "That’s what the R&B Brunch is about! Let’s keep it goin' ya’ll," the DJ said as Why I love you so much by Monica began playing.

" Come on wifey, let’s dance," Joe said as I looked at him in shock. "You….You want to dance," I asked as he smiled leaning over to kiss me. "Yea, can’t a man dance with his wife," he asked leading me out to the dance floor.

Shantell’s POV

"See cuz can dance, I don’t know why he so shy bout that shit," Jey said looking at Tangela and Joe on the dance floor looking like their gliding on air. "It’s in the blood, ya’ll all smooth with it," I said smiling at him as he blushed slightly.

"You know I never heard you sing before," Jey said caressing my face. "Well, I gotta hold some things close to the vest,"t I said as he kissed me again. "Well, your my first love too," he whispered as I blushed laying my head against his neck as he held me close.

"Always and forever," I whispered caressing his beard as the chaos of the club seemed to not exist as it was just me and him. This date night with Joe and Tangela has been truly fun. We definitely need to do this more often as life is moving so fast. I also knew I needed this time off to reset.

Smackdown one month later

Gorilla

Trin’s POV

"I can’t do this," Trin said pacing as Jimmy and I looked at each other smiling. "Girl! Yes you can this is what we’ve been waiting on," I encouraged as Jimmy took her in his arms. "Hey, we here, and it’s gon' be great baby," he said kissing her as she relaxed.

"You on in one minute Trin," I said looking at Tamina getting jumped by Rhonda and Shayna. I could feel her mind shift as she focused. "That’s my girl," Jimmy smiled moving away from her as he came to sit beside me. "Go kill it, girl!" I shouted as her music hit and she went out into the arena to a hug pop.

"Is that Jimmy’s wife Trin!" Cole shouted as Trin cleared house. You know it is Cole, only one person can jump that high in the women’s division and I’m personally glad to see her back Barrett said as Rhona and Shayna ran off.

"Camera five get a close-up of Trin then phase back out to Rhona and Shanna," I ordered as the crowd began chanting “welcome back" as Trin was overcome with emotion. "Hard camera focus on Trin for a minute, then camera seven I need crowd shots" I advised.

"Shan, you know I got you, and it’s good to have you back," Stu said as I smiled. "It’s good to be back, Stu. I really missed ya'll," I said into my headset.

"Look at her out there," Jimmy said almost in tears as Jey rested his hand on his shoulder. "It’s official, she's, back in the fold," Jey said smiling at me as Jimmy nodded looking proudly at his wife.

The crowd was so amped they wouldn’t let her speak as she tried to control her emotions. "Yeah, I’m back!" She shouted as the crowd roared louder." Camera eight I need a shot on Tamina," I said as I saw her tearing up.

"My sister ain't by herself no more, she's got me and we coming for those WWE Women’s tag team championships! Your days here are numbered just like they were in the UFC" Trin shouted dropping the mic as Tamina stood beside her.

"Camera two and Nine I need a pace between the ring and the aisle, I need a good shot of this stare-down to take us off the air," I requested.

If this past month was any inkling of what's to come, I can say these next few months should go by fast and bring us all closer together.

my besties eurovisionspain just made this article about 12 artists that could be great choices for next year benidorm fest so i had to talk about them!!! here's the full article but i'll go over the artists / groups for all of you who don't speak spanish plus give my little opinion :)

(the links in the artists' name will go to the song the eurovisionspain team selected to be a showcase of them, so think of them as how a benifest entry for them could be like)

delaporte: delaporte is a duo formed by spaniard sandra delaporte and italian sergio salvi known for being one of the biggest electronic pop bands right now. i actually know them through their project titanas, made to celebrate female voices in the spanish music industry; my personal favourite of them is clap clap, their collab with anaju.

arde bogotá: arde bogotá is an indie rock band formed in cartagena (murcia) in 2017 by antonio garcía, dani sánchez, pepe esteban, and josé ángel mercader, known for the characteristic voice of their vocalist. i've actually been listening to their song antiaéreo for a while now, so i'm glad they're on this list!!! also i love how hard los perros (the song linked under the name) goes !!!

julieta: julieta is a pop and urban artist that sings in both catalan and spanish that goes from pop to reggaeton to house. i had not listened to anything from her but i knew her and i knew she was a girlie i should be on the lookout for. also y'all know how much i love when artists sing in another language that isn't spanish or english so !!!!!

GOMZ: GOMZ, whose real name is raúl gómez, is an indie electropop artist who first rose to fame (I KNEW I KNEW HIM) when he composed tu canción, the song that represented spain in esc 2018. his song sounds nice !!!

judeline: judeline was born in cádiz, and with only 20 years old, she's one of the biggest newcomers to the spanish urban scene. just as with julieta, tho i hadn't listened to any of her songs i knew who she was and yeah, this girl is gonna go far for sure !!!!

joe crepúsculo: NOT JOE CREPÚSCULO 😭😭😭 he's a well established indie pop / electronic artist known for his dance anthems and irreverent attitude. y'all i've seen this man live without knowing who he was and he knows how to give a show that's for sure. he's just a weird little man, just an absolute sicko.

fillas de cassandra: they're a female duo from vigo formed of maria SOA and sara faro who fuse galician oral tradition and modern sounds with a feminism focus on all her songs. i actually have listened to them before, specifically to their song lisistrata (PLEASE LISTEN TO IT AND WATCH THE MV IT'S GREAT), and after learning a bit more about them i might be a bit obsessed with them??? like just from their name ('daughters of cassandra'), their themes and sound, the fact that most of their songs titles reference greek mythology, and how much i loved tataravoa (the linked song, means 'great-grandmother' in galician) that i instantly put it in my playlist... also galician !!!!!!

bajocero x: bajocero x is the stage name of madrid-born daniel lópez, a newcomer to the urban pop scene who actually was a reserve artist in the previous benidorm fest! i like his sound he has potential!

SAMURAÏ: I CAN'T BELIEVE SAMU IS HERE LET'S GOOOO. samuraï is the stage named of aroa, also from madrid, an indie pop-rock artist with a very strong visual and vocal presence. GUYS YOU DON'T UNDERSTADN I'M OBSESSED WITH HER. like i've listened to all her songs so many times she's one of my biggest discoveries of 2023 if not the best i am so in love with her it isn't even funny. her last ep called artillería is so good and it also follows a theme in the naming of the songs which i love so so very much !!!!!! i'm struggling to pick only one song of hers to show to y'all (the linked song is very good btw one of my faves), so i'll give you three: the first song of hers i listened to, her collab with la la love you, and imo her best song in the last ep.

KAI NAKAI: kai nakai is the stage name of iratxe aguilera, a basque singer from gasteiz that does feminist urban music in basque language (euskera). i didn't know her and !!!!!! i do love me some minority language in a popular genre honestly

dulzaro: he's an artist from valladolid who fuses traditional castilian-leonese sounds like jotas, charros and corridos, with traditional instruments like cucharas, panderetas, panderos and botellas de anís, and modern sounds and mixes, to make a quite unique sound. i didn't know him but now i love him so much holy shit !!!! just look at the link and that music video!!!! it's chock full of castilian folklore and traditions and even the town screams castilla y león like it's so fucking perfect!!! and it's a jota !!!!!! oh how i would love this to go to eurovision fuck i know it'd have the same placement as eaea but i don't care this shit is so fucking good.

maría peláe: OH I LOVE HER. maría peláe, born in málaga, is probably one of the new generation of folclóricas [flamenco personalities] in the country, with flamenco full of social messages and almost an agressiveness to it. SHE'S AN ICON she's so funny and sassy and EVERYTHING!!! i love her song por si te vas so much (the music video for it is so good actually) but i might love el grillo (the linked song) even more like it has sooo much lola flores (the greatest flamenco artist ever) energy!!!!! i absolutely adore her

GUITARRICADELAFUENTE: MY MAN. born in aragón, he is a singer songwriter known for his unique sound and his traditional sounds - always with a guitar at the center, that combine rumba, flamenco and indie sounds. he's actually so good it's actually criminal he hasn't gone to benidorm fest. also i'm contractually obligated to link the song that made me discovered him because that song changed the course of my life, nana triste; but also his most known song that actually was who made him known to the public is guantanamera, a version of a traditional havanera that's almost become a classic here. also that mv is how i imagine paradise (it's the town where his grandma lives i think, in aragón).

chloe (2009) inspired; muse a suspects their spouse of having an affair after seeing a suspicious photo of them with someone else. by chance, muse a encounters muse b and discovers that muse b is a call girl that seems to work in the same neighborhood as muse a. muse a ends up hiring muse b to test their spouse’s loyalty. as muse b comes back to say their spouse did in fact take the bait, muse a and muse b begin to grow closer until they begin having an affair of their own.

gilmore girls inspired: rory x jess; give me a small town with muse a being the golden child of the town (golden adult tbh) and muse b being a newcomer that screams trouble. no one in town seems to like muse b and that’s perfectly fine with them since this is the last place they wanna be (maybe they got job transferred there or they have family they had to take care of or just family business to take of in general), but for whatever reason is drawn to muse a (and is about the only person in town they find remotely tolerable/interesting), and so they start a very unlikely friendship. muse a can be in some long-term relationship (and/or long-distance), so all the angst when there’s also a natural chemistry there with muse a trying to figure out what to do and muse b not exactly being subtly about their interest in them.

the handmaiden inspired; muse a is a con artist with a plan to marry muse b so they can steal their riches from right under their nose. the only problem? muse b is a recluse that doesn’t trust strangers easily and needs convincing to marry muse a. in an attempt to win over muse b’s affections, muse a hires them a personal assistant, muse c, who is actually a petty theft and forger muse a found. muse c is told to befriend muse b and to slowly convince muse b to give muse a a chance to be wooed. as muse c and muse b become closer, muse c begins to feel increasingly guilty over the plans to screw them over. and as muse c does their job of pushing muse a and muse b together, they can’t help but notice a growing jealousy at their interactions.

jennifer’s body inspired; muse a and muse b have been best friends forever even though they seem to have nothing in common. after muse a is falsely sacrificed as a virgin for some up-and-coming band, they’re suddenly brought back to life and possessed by some other-worldly creature that can only be satisfied with the consumption of human flesh. muse b seems to be the only person to have figured out what is happening and tries to do something about it to help muse a. but instead of the movie’s ending of muse b stopping/killing muse a, cue to sexual awakenings, muse b wanting to help muse a stay alive and/or helping muse a commit their heinous acts, and them being just dangerous girlfriends together that get rid of scummy dudes.

kiki’s delivery service x howl’s moving castle inspired; muse a’s powers as a witch/wizard has finally come in. to carry on tradition, they must leave home and try to make a name for themselves elsewhere as they learn how to use their powers. excited for the adventure, muse a takes off and ends up in a small port town only to realize how difficult it actually is to be a brand new witch/wizard without any real guidance. so when muse a is in town and notices witch/wizard muse b, they become determined to befriend them and try to get them to mentor them. but others warn muse a that muse b is a mysterious recluse with a rather reckless reputation tacked to them and that they’re better off looking for guidance from another. undeterred, muse a settles on weaseling their way into muse b’s life whether they like it or not.

peter pan inspired: tink x hook; muse a has been in love with their best friend for as long as they can remember. but when their best friend finds love in the arms of someone else, muse a can’t help but feel bitter and angry over it. hoping to make their friend jealous, muse a decides to get chummy with their best friend’s worst enemy, muse b.

the rookie inspired: tim x lucy; muse a is a hard-ass, no nonsense training officer to enthusiastic rookie cop, muse b. muse b wants nothing more than to succeed buy constantly clashes with muse a personality wise without meaning to. eventually muse b is able to obtain muse a’s respect and approval, and the pair end up forming a rather close bond by the time muse b’s time as a rookie comes to an end. as muse b begins taking an interest in undercover work, muse a and b get pulled into an assignment where they’re forced to pretend to be a couple to close a case. but as they begin to play the part they start to realize that maybe they aren’t exactly just playing at being a fake couple.

-- all i want right now is a cliché undercover marriage 1x1 where there’s two spies who hate each other and everyone knows it but now they’re the only two available for this long term undercover mission as a married couple in an apartment/suburb and they have to be believable through dinner parties and etc. just pleASE give this to me

Of course the second time around, Muse A goes in for a kiss and it ends up not being chaste, sweet, or awkward like Muse B expects, but instead it’s rough and passionate and oops, now Muse B is a little more interested to see where things lead.”

Then surprise, surprise, he falls hard for her her only to find out later that she has some sophisticated, rich boyfriend from some ivy league college and she’s not actually so innocent after all.”

-- a rough around the edges, con artist girl is doing dirty work for her shitty boyfriend and they decide to target a rich, wealthy, cocky sort of young socialite male who feels like his life is a bit empty and redundant, and she may seem like she’s in this con artist game for the money (and she is, partly, because she grew up really poor and knows how it feels to starve) but she also has an unhealthy attachment to the boyfriend even though he treats her like crap and uses her to attract rich males, and then, on the night where she has dressed up and come up with a fake name and is about to make her move on the rich young man she realizes oh, he’s actually extremely attractive and cute and not like the other creepy old men she preys on? and oh, he’s actually extremely charismatic and witty and charming and kind of a dick, but not to her? and oh, now they’re kind of going out on multiple really amazing dates and spending tons of time together and she’s supposed to be digging for his deepest secrets and finding out numbers to his safes and stealing jewelry pieces he probably won’t miss and then one night, her wallet falls out of her bag and… OH, why is her name not the name that she said it was on her drivers license and why are his personal, private cartier bracelets engraved with his initials in there too and who the fuck is calling her phone ??????

-- what if we ,, uh ,, have a ship that was college / high school “almost’s” and they always danced around their feelings because they didn’t want to ruin their friendship but they had all of these little moments where something almost happened anyway lakjfds they graduate and lose touch only to see each other again at a reunion and all of those feelings are back as if nothing changed but they’re older and wiser now and they spend the whole night talking about how dumb they were only to f i n a l l y kiss but then uh oh they live in different cities or one of them is on break with their partner or whatever to complicate things … nah … unless ??

-- a plot where muse a and b hate each other. and by hate, i mean completely and utterly loathe one another. they turn on their heel and walk out of a room when they spot each other, they insult each other at every opportunity they get, and they’d rather sit on a spinning blade than spend time together doing anything but screaming at each other – unless they’re fucking. as much as they can’t stand one another, they drive each other crazy, good crazy, in bed. she comes out with bruises on her hips and hickies on her thighs while he’s got scratches trailing down his back and chest. they hate each other, but they love fucking, and their sex is full of pulling and scratching and biting and shut the fuck up and say my fucking name and the second they’re finished, one’s kicking the other out. this behavior continues for a while, both showing no signs of liking each other, even a little, until one day muse b fucks up and says the ‘l’ word in bed. he leaves immediately, and they avoid each other for days until muse a snaps and goes to his apartment and they fight and fight and fight until they’re fucking again, and afterwards they fight more and he’s shirtless and defensive and she’s in her bra and on the verge of tears because somehow, they ended up loving each other, and suddenly every day when they fight, the 'i hate you’s sound like 'i love you’s and the sex feels like making love and somehow they hate that even more, because hate is all they know how to feel.

-- Honestly I just want a 1x1 where Muse A is a cop’s daughter, who always has straight a’s and never disobeys, and one day she has to stop by the police station (for something, like car keys) and her father is arresting Muse B whose this total badass who drinks, does drugs and sleeps around. So Muse B corrupts Muse A and obviously it’s a forbidden relationship so it’s a lot of sneaking around to have sex and such. But in the end, it’s Muse A whose corrupting Muse B because B hasn’t had anyone in his life to care for and who cares for him.

Insolvency trustee Doug Hoyes encounters a lot of Canadians with money troubles, but he's become particularly sympathetic to the plight of young people who find themselves financially underwater.

For more than a decade, his Ontario-based firm Hoyes Michalos has been crunching bankruptcy and insolvency numbers for its annual "Joe Debtor" analysis, with its latest results released last month ahead of tax season.

He's concluded that millennial Canadians have been dealt a generational losing hand as they face student loans layered with bad debts from credit cards, high-interest loans, and post-pandemic tax debt from collecting CERB.

"I think there are whammies that hit millennials," Hoyes said. "The CERB was the final straw that broke the camel's back." The 2022 Joe Debtor study examined 2,700 personal insolvencies filed in Ontario. Hoyes Michalos says 49 percent were filed by millennials aged 26 to 41, even though they make adult Canadians.

The study found that 1.4 times more likely to file for insolvency than people in generation X aged 42 to 56 and baby boomers aged 57 to 76.

Insolvent millennials were 33 years old and owed an average of $47,283 in unsecured debt. Hoyes said many people collected CERB and other pandemic-relief funds without fully appreciating the tax liabilities those programs generated, finding themselves insolvent and unable to pay down their credit cards, student loans, high-interest loans, and their tax debts.

More Canadians of all ages filed for bankruptcy or insolvency in 2022. But older generations, Hoyes said, have enjoyed many advantages.

Housing prices were more in step with wages. Tuition fees didn't necessitate student loans, allowing graduates to enter the workforce and start saving and investing out of the gate than having to service large debts for years after completing their education.

Hoyes said those circumstances represented a "safety valve" that young people now can't rely on. "Anything goes wrong like a pandemic, or you lose your job or get sick or get divorced and no safety valve there," he said.

Filing for bankruptcy, he said, is an option to eliminate debts, but filing consumer proposals with the help of insolvency trustees like him to pay them down over time in manageable portions.

"It becomes an affordable way to eliminate the debt, and that's why we're seeing more and more millennials resorting to consumer proposals," he said. "They really have no other choice."

Sandra Fry, a Winnipeg-based credit counselor with the non-profit Credit Counselling Society, said many young people dealing with the shock of rising interest rates.

"Unfortunately, people out there are living on the edge of their affordability," Fry said. Fry said the Credit Counselling Society sees all types of people struggling financially with rising costs that are Canadians from all sides."

The society helps people struggling with debt, negotiating with creditors to eliminate interest on loans, but also refers people in some situations to bankruptcy and insolvency trustees.

Millennial clients she's dealt with lately have often had variable interest rate mortgages, and rate hikes "caused a huge strain on their budget because their payments just went up like crazy."

Dave Locke, 31, lives with his wife in Coquitlam, B.C., east of Vancouver, and the couple sought Fry's help when their mortgage payments jumped dramatically in the middle of a costly renovation.

Locke, a real estate brokerage in the housing market at a young age in the oil and gas industry after high school. He ended up buying a home in Coquitlam with his wife Tara, who works in labor relations, and the Bank of Canada's rate hikes eventually saw their monthly mortgage payments jump 40 percent.

The couple had a construction loan from their bank to fund the renovations climbed, and the price of construction materials ballooned. Locke realized something had to give, even with their relatively high combined incomes.

Insolvency or bankruptcy weren't options for the couple because they wanted to keep their assets and were able to work out a deal with their bank to eliminate interest on the renovation loan.

"I'm still paying the full balance," Locke said. "I'm just not paying any additional interest." Locke said the stress and stigma of debt are embarrassing, "but it's just the way it goes."

Grant Bazian, a licensed insolvency trustee and president of MNP Ltd. in Vancouver, said he's seen many clients "keeping up with the living beyond their means and getting stuck in a cycle of high-interest debt from payday loans and credit cards, layered on top of "ridiculous" housing costs.

Bazian said there's likely no "one magic bullet" to alleviate the debt woes of young people, many of whom are coming to see him racked with anxiety and other mental health issues.

For accountant Hoyes back in Ontario, putting out the firm's Joe Debtor study every year lets people know they're not alone and reminds them of legal options to start anew financially.

Hoyes said it would be a mistake to automatically blame millennials for their money trouble because "you stacked against them. "You don't have to keep working two jobs for the next 20 years," he said. "There are legal ways to eliminate a chunk of your debt, and yeah, it hurts your credit temporarily."

Joe and Tangela’s reception

Jey’s POV

"Wow, Joe must have spent a lot of money on this!" Taraji said loudly looking around as I cringed. Why did I bring her…Better yet, why did I agree to try being a couple? After Shantell’s grandmother’s funeral, we did a couple shows for Raw and Taraji and I ended up tangled back in the sheets again.

Why am I so scared to just ask Shantell out? I mean I’ve had time to get my shit together and I feel I’m ready, but I just can’t take the leap. I don’t want to mess up our friendship.

"Jey, did you hear what I said? I’m about ready to go Taraji," said as I sighed. "Well, I can walk you to your room. Then I'll come back, ''cause' I ain’t ready to leave yet," I said honestly ready to party with my family.

I saw Shantell earlier and she was so beautiful in her gown all the girls were. “I can’t believe they danced to that lewd song," my mom whispered looking over at Shan, Trin, and Sofia as I looked at her funny.

“What are you talking about mama, it wasn’t bad. It was a Beyonce’ song, all they did was choreography from the video,” I said as she frowned at me as Taraji smirked.

“Well Ma Uce, I agree it was a bit tasteless,” she said kissing up to my mom as she smiled at her.

“Sandra, nothing was wrong with Tangela, and the girls doing a routine to her favorite song. It’s her wedding, she can do what she wants, and what you think doesn’t matter,” pops said as I smiled at him.

“I ain’t judging, I love all the girls, I just don’t feel it was proper for Trin, and Sofia to be out here doing vulgar moves and they are married,” she said as I rolled my eyes.

“Well, your sons seemed to have enjoyed it, so once again your thoughts on it don’t matter. Let them grown folks have fun and keep your opinion to yourself, I’m tryin’ to enjoy myself,” he said as my mother sat back in her chair and closed her mouth.

Looking back, I saw Montez sitting at the table next to me along with Shantell’s mom and they seemed to be having a fun conversation as they were both laughing.

"What the hell is up with that and why is he here?”I muttered as Shantell went to their table leaned over and whispered something in Montez’s ear.

The smile on his face made my stomach turn as she smiled brightly, pulling him on the dance floor.

"Do you want to dance?" I asked Taraji as she smiled. "Uhm, sure and maybe after that we can go," she said as I nodded in agreement.

I needed to talk to Shantell, but I knew now wasn’t the place. Are you serious? Leave it to Taraji to go and start dancing by Shantell and Montez.

The idiot was beaming as Shantell danced close to him. Man, he is goofy as fuck, and can’t handle a woman like Shantell.

I couldn’t focus, all I could do was think about the many different ways I could kill him.

"You want me to walk you back to your room?" Montez asked as Shantell smiled. "I think you trying to set me up, but yea you can walk me back, "Shantell said laughing as he smiled brightly at her.

"Let’s go then," Montez said gently steering Shantell off the dance floor. "Wait, let me tell my mom I’m leaving," Shantell said walking away from him.

"Aye, let’s go Taraji. I’ll walk you back to your room," I said trying to be nice about wanting to ditch her." I need my coat," she said as I waved her off.

"No problem, I got you," I said jogging over to our table to get it.

"Mama, he’s a friend that is all," Shantell said as her mother laughed. "Well, if you decide to indulge your friend, wrap it up," Tanya said as Shantell blushed.

"I ain’t even going there, night mama," Shantell laughed giving her a hug.

What the fuck was so funny. Ain't nothing about this shit funny. Tevin's ass is outta the picture, now here comes this fool.

"Night, Jey, see you tomorrow," Shantell said waving at me before walking over to leave with Montez.

"Oh, so it’s like dat huh. No hug, kiss on the cheek, nothing just a dry ass good night," I mumbled My fuckin' insides are boiling.

Montez’s POV

"Thanks for walking me to my room," Shantell said unlocking her door as I fidgeted with my hands.

“It was my pleasure,” I said coming closer as she smiled. "Montez," she warned as I gently shushed her.

"I know we’re friends but, I can’t help I’m attracted to you,” I said as she blushed.

“So, you’ve told me a thousand times,” she whispered as I gently kissed her hand before she walked inside her room.

“Goodnight Beautiful,”I said as she turned and smiled. “Night Tez, I had fun, see you tomorrow,” she said slowly closing the door.

"Damn, she’s a tough one to crack,” I muttered to myself as I felt someone bump me as I turned to leave.

“Sorry, I didn’t see you there,” familiar voice said as I looked up and locked eyes with Jey.

“No problem, Jey, have a good night,” I said walking away not wanting any trouble. I caught how he was looking at me and Shantell on the dance floor.

“Aye, tonight is your last night sniffing around, Bruh. Stay away from Shantell,” he said as I stopped in my tracks.

“What did you say?” I asked, turning around to make sure I heard him correctly, and by the look on his face, he was dead serious.

"I ain’t stutter man, stay away from Shantell or it’s gon’ get ugly,” Jey said boldly as everything began clicking in my head.

"So that’s your plan huh, you just gon’ threaten and try to push every guy out of Shantell’s life that isn’t you, Jimmy, Solo, or Joe. Man, you selfish as fuck,” I said having figured out Jey’s game.

“No, that ain’t what I’m doing. I just know what you doin’ and it ain’t gon’ work. She ain’t that type of girl, just stay away,” Jey said as I scoffed at him.

“Well, I know what you doin’ too, Jey. You either need to tell Shantell you like her and put yourselves outta your misery, or let her be happy wit someone else," I said giving him advice.

"You don’t know me at all to be judging me, Montez," I said getting irritated.

"I do know you Jey, I see right through you. You are in love with Shantell but you are scared, you feel you undeserving. You scared you gonna mess up your friendship and lose her forever,” Montez said as I tried to keep my poker face.

I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of knowing he was right.

"Man, gon' on wit the bullshit, and just remember what I told you," I said trying to keep my cool but I already knew I was right.

"Look, you either gon’ step up, and get your woman, or be miserable as fuck watching and someone else love her the way she deserves,” Montez said walking away.

I needed time to think, but deep down I knew Montez was right about everything he was saying.

After that night a few things Montez said began to stick out as I walked the halls in search of Taraji.

“Hey, Nattie you seen Taraji, I just decided to surprise her,” I said as she looked like she had seen a ghost.

“Uh, yeah she’s in the canteen, but I heard her say she was heading back to her dressing room,” she said looking worried, scurrying away from me.

Trying to push the naggin’ feeling away, I went to wait in her dressing room.

“Fuck you, Jey! You just ready to run to her now ain’t you? Your precious Shantell, you ain’t never cared about me anyway,” she said trying to guilt me with her fake tears.

“It’s always been Shantell, and I know I ain’t never said that to you before but you knew it too. In the end, you cheated and that’s on you. Ain’t nobody to blame but you,” I said as I felt the anger radiating off of her.

"Jey, let’s just talk about this," she started as I cut her off with a quickness.

“Have a nice life Taraji because I know I will with Shantell,” I said truthfully not caring about her fake tears, or how it made her feel as I walked away from the dramatic ass scene.

“You ain’t heard the last of me Jey, this ain’t over!” she yelled as continued walking, I had wasted enough time on her.

I felt relieved it was over because I was never really in it to begin with. I can’t believe I’ve wasted all this time, but I’m back on track now.

I had to tell Shantell how I felt.

Jey’s POV

“She did what!?” Shantell yelled from the bathroom as I laughed. “You heard me, she was getting’ it on with Melo,” I said as she poked her head out the door.

“Stop it! Lawd! Melo, I was rooting for you! We were all rooting for you, how dare you!” Shantell said dramatically as I laughed.

“Man, she tried to lay on the guilt trip too, Iike I ain’t just see you cheatin’,” I said as Shantell shook her head.

“Jey you know how she is. I’m just glad you're free of the drama. You deserve better than that,” Shantell said fixing her hair.

“You think so?” I asked looking at her entranced by her beauty. Damn, I’m stupid as fuck, she’s been in front of me the whole time.

How do I even tell her?

“I know so, after all the shit you’ve been through you deserve all the happiness in the world Josh,” Shantell said taking her outfit off the hanger as I walked away to give her some privacy.

“So when are they gon’ start the remodel?" I asked looking around her bedroom as she got dressed. “In two months, so I got time to find an apartment or loft to rent until it’s done,” Shantell said coming out of the bathroom, trying to zip up her rumper.

“You ain’t gon’ never zip that up by yourself, turn around, I got you,” I whispered as she smiled turning around, looking at herself in the mirror.

"I really need some advice, Shantell," I said trying to build up my nerve to tell her. "Uh, I can try," she said nervously as I smiled.

“I really like somebody, but I don’t know how to tell her,” I said our eyes meeting in the mirror as I slowly began zipping her up.

“Aww, is she pretty?” she asked smiling as I nodded “She’s more beautiful than you could imagine, but it's not the first thing you notice about her though,” I said as Shantell's eyes silently questioned me.

“First thing I noticed about her was her heart, and how she loves everyone around her. She’s always ten toes down for everybody she considers her family. She don’t know it, but she makes me feel like I can do anything,” I said honestly as she smiled.

“I’m really happy for you, she sounds like an amazing woman,” Shantell said as I sighed, frustrated, and flustered that she wasn’t catching on to the fact I was talking about her.

“She really is, I just hate that she doesn’t know how amazing she is. I’d move heaven and earth just to have a chance to prove I’m worthy of her,” I said rubbing her shoulders as I stared into her eyes through the mirror.

I was laying my soul bare, I had nothing to lose.

Shantell’s POV

Trying to control my breathing I cleared my throat. “Um, well you should tell her how you feel Jey, you won’t know until you try,” I said as he sighed, placing a gentle kiss on my shoulder as I relaxed against him truly enjoying being in his arms again.

I knew moments like this were going to be few and far between when he finally told this girl how he felt.

I’m glad I really accepted us being friends because this would have crushed me deeply. He just gives off so many mixed signals that it frustrates me at times.

“You are going to be fine, just tell her. She won’t know until you let her know you like her,” I encouraged as he held me tighter. It was so simple but yet so intimate.

“What if she doesn’t feel the same way about me?” Jey whispered as I turned in his arms and hugged him.

I felt him exhale as my arms enclosed around his neck.

“I don’t think you’ll have a problem Josh, you’re an amazing guy. Stop second-guessing on yourself,” I said pulling away, and giving him a kiss on the cheek before going into my closet to look for my shoes.

“Maybe I’ll tell her soon,” Jey said as I nodded continued in search of my shoes.

“You better! It sounds like that girl is the one and you shouldn’t let her get away if she's that amazing. Stop wasting time, Uce,” I said honestly happy for him.

“Yea, I wasted too much time, if you knew how much, you'd probably slap my ass, but I’ma tell her," Jey said as I turned and smiled brightly at the boyish grin he was sporting.

“Shantell you ain’t good, cause' deep down you know what’s up, and dats why you runnin’ scared! You don’t want me to tell you!” I yelled as Shantell screamed in frustration, finally turning around to face me.

“Runnin’… Oh no! See that’s your department! I don’t run I stand in my truth, when are you goin' to stand in yours,” Shantell said smartly as I groaned at her truthful words.

“You drive me fuckin crazy! I'm tryin' to stand in my truth! I’m tryin’ to tell yo’ ass! ” I yelled pulling her close as she pushed me away.

“Well stand in it! Tell me what you wanna say. I'm right here Josh, and I ain’t runnin’. TELL ME! " Shantell demanded hitting my chest in desperation as I caught her off guard, claiming her lips in a passionate kiss.

Her shocked whimpers set my soul on fire as I deepened our kiss. Her hands caressed my face as I pulled her closer. It was like we couldn't get close enough to each other.

Our New Year's Eve kiss had nothing on this one. “If you would just let me talk, I’d tell you a million times, it's you, baby," I moaned against her lips, stealing another earth-shattering kiss before pulling away.

Trying to catch her breath, and process what was happening, Shantell looked at me with unsure eyes.

"There, I finally said it,” I whispered releasing the breath I was holding as I saw a few tears escape her beautiful eyes.

I had finally done it, I had confessed my heart's desires and the ball was in Shantell's court now.

“Why do you want me, Josh? Out of every girl in the world why me?” she whispered as I gently wiped her tears and kissed her tenderly on the forehead as she melted into my arms.

“Cause your you, baby,” I declared, my voice filled with emotions that only she stirred within me.

Unashamed, I let my own tears fall as I held her close. I had bared my soul and she didn’t run, she welcomed me with open arms.

“What are we going to do?” Shantell asked as I scooped her up in my arms, as she snuggled her face into my neck.

“We gon’ figure this it out, 'cause I can’t lose you now,” I whispered truthfully holding her close as I carried her back to the car.

I know I’m a little lit, but damn he just shocked the shit out of me…How long had he felt this way?

Were his feelings recent, or did they develop over time?

Oh, God, did he have feelings for me all along? My head was spinning, Jey wanted us to be together. Shantell shut the fuck up and stop overthinking.

"Live in the present and be happy, fool," I muttered to myself as Jey placed me gently in the car." What did you say baby?" he asked as I smiled at him.

“Thank you, I was saying thanks for carrying me to the car” I whispered as Jey buckled my seatbelt.

I leaned my head up against the seat, closing my eyes. I needed a bed asap, this was too much for one night.

“Uh huh, see dat brown liquor gettin’ to yo ass ain’t it? That’s why I told you to bring yo ass on earlier, so I could put you to bed,” Jey said as I shot him a look as he laughed, closing my door.

"Hell, it wasn't just the liquor, it was yo' fine ass too," I muttered to myself as he got back in the car.

"A'ight let me get you home, so I can put yo' fine ass to bed. You bout sleep now," Jey said buckling his seatbelt as I giggled.

“So you wanna put me to bed, huh,. Well I’ll have you to know that you gon’ have to work for this good, good, cause I’m a lady,” I said pointing at him and winking as he laughed.

“Yea, but you my lady, so best believe I don't mind workin' real hard for dat good, good," Jey whispered caressing my thigh, licking his lips as I shivered at the thought.

Fuck, resisting him is going to be a challenge. Shit, he can pop this cherry now and I'd have no regrets.

The best sleep I’ve had in a long time. I was afraid she wouldn’t remember anything from last night but she woke my ass up an hour ago and we been talkin’ ever since.

"I don't want to ruin our friendship," Shantell moaned as I gently kissed her neck, lightly tracing circles on her lower back with my fingertips as she ran her fingers through my hair.

"Ain't you heard? Friends make the best lovers," I groaned, gently nipping at her neck as she moaned in satisfaction.

Damn, I'm in trouble, his hands, tongue, and mouth are fuckin lethal.

"Mmm, Jey we gotta stop, I hear something," I moaned pulling away as we both were trying to catch our breath.

"Did you invite anybody over?" jey asked as I shook my head no.

Hearing Joe's voice downstairs Jey groaned. "See this is why you don’t give everybody a key," he said as I laughed climbing off his lap.

"Well, we have plenty of time," I said throwing his words back at him as Joe knocked on my bedroom door

"Shantell is the coast clear?" Joe asked as Jey growled, throwing myself back on the bed as I snickered.

"Sure, we’re good, come on in," I said as he came in smiling. "Hey Uce, what you doing here?" Jey asked as Joe smirked at us.

"I just wanted to check on ya’ll, shit was intense at the bar last night," he said as I groaned remembering how I acted after Jey and I left the bar.

"We talked Joe, everything is good," I said going to sit beside Jey as he sat up and gave me a chaste kiss on the lips before turning and smirking at Joe.

"About damn time!" Joe shouted as he and Jey laughed doing their secret handshake. "Oh, god stop, "I whined as Joe smirked at me.

"Jimmy owes me fifty bucks, I knew something was gon’ give last night," Joe said as Jey laughed.

"Man, you don't even know half of what she did, " Jey said as I playfully hit him on the shoulder to stop him from running his mouth.

"Uh, everything went good Uce, no problems at all," Jey lied as I nodded in agreement.

"Who ya'll think you foolin'? I saw Shantell's face when she followed you out of the bar last night. She broke yo' ass down like a fraction in that car last night... It's ok to admit it, we've all been there, Uce," Joe said patting Jey on the shoulder.

"Man, fuck you, Uce," Jey said as I shook my head at their antics

I hoped we all stayed this way because life was too short to be anything but happy.

Shantell’s POV

"Sis, he got a point, what goes on between you guys is ya'll's business. Nobody here can judge anybody. Thirty-two and thirty-eight ain’t that much of an age difference," Joe said as I shook my head in defiance.

"I ain’t sayin' it is, but tell it to Mama Fatu. She all but asked how we were going to handle it. I mean she seems to like me, but she made it seem like Jey was robbing the cradle when we told her we were dating," I said cringing thinking about the conversation.

"Oh no she didn’t? Joe said as I shook my head in shame. "It was so embarrassing bear," I whined as he cleared his throat looking around to make sure nobody was listening.

"What did Unk say?" Joe asked as I smiled despite myself. "He told her to mind her own fuckin’ business," I said as Joe laughed.

"Joe it ain’t funny," I said as his laugh got louder. "Yes hell, it is because I know him," he said as I snickered.

"Just be happy sis, and take it slow. This is about you and Jey, not anybody else," Joe said as I smiled. "You got it, dude, "I said as he kissed my cheek before going to get dressed.

Grabbing my headset I sat beside Paul who seemed concerned. "Are you ok Shantell?" he asked as I nodded.

"Ok, we’re going to pace on to start the show, I need a crowd pan and then que Joe's music," I said writing down my notes. "We are on in ten everyone," I said as I saw Jey coming up. I smiled at him but he didn’t return it.

He began to pace rubbing his hands over his face."Are you ok?" I whispered as he shook his head.

"Nah, I ain’t ok baby," he said as Paul looked between us in shock. "Um, Baby," he said as I blushed.

"Jey," I started as he cut me off. "No, Shantell I gotta say this, we are together, me and you… Dats our business, and I don’t give a fuck what people think or who knows for that matter,” Jey said as my mouth dropped open in shock as people had begun to gather in Gorilla for the start of the show.

"If I wanna kiss you, I’ma kiss the fuck outta you. Half the people here cheat on their damn spouses and the other half are fucking coworkers on the road. Who da fuck are they to judge us," he said reaching over, gently taking me in an earthshattering kiss as I moaned before I could stop myself.

The whistles and murmurs of the people around us should have made me blush but I could care less.

"Have a great show baby," he whispered stealing another kiss. “You too,” I whispered as Paul cleared his throat as Jey grinned.

"Sorry boss, I just had to get some business straight," Jey said as I blushed.

Well, the secret was outta the bag..Everyone definitely knew now.

"Well I don’t blame you Jey, sometimes we gotta stand on business,” Paul said as they shook hands.

"Don’t boost him up wit that stand on business bullshit," I said as they laughed.

"Can I work now?" I whispered as Jey grinned at me. “Sure Ma, make me look good out there,” he said as I laughed “You don’t need my help in that department, go kill it, babe,” I said as he winked at me before heading to the curtain.

I looked around at the stares and some were happy some not so happy.

"Aye, I don’t pay ya’ll to stand around and be nosey. Get ready for the show," Paul said as the crowd disbanded and Jimmy, Joe, and Solo came up.

"What did we miss, why all these folks up here?" Solo asked as Paul smirked. "Oh, nothin’ just yo brother causin' a scene in the name of love," Paul whispered as I cringed.

"I’ll tell you later," I said as he put his towel on his head getting in the zone.

"Let’s make it count ya’ll we got a few more weeks of this before the Civil War match," Joe said as Jimmy seemed to upset about his statement.

"Go kill it ya’ll! I yelled as Joe’s theme dropped and he walked out to the crowd erupting. Next Jey and Jimmy head out to face off against Joe and Solo.

"Do you think this is going to work Paul?" I said as he smiled at me. "Hell yeah, this is just the beginning for them Shantell. The next month is going to take the fans on a rollercoaster ride, then it's smooth cruisin' into MITB and the possibilities after that are endless," Paul said as we looked at them on my monitor.

The breakup of the bloodline was starting and I wasn’t ready not by a long shot. I knew they all were going to knock it out of the park and thrive in their new roles in the story….

Pensacola Memorial Hospital

Shantell’s POV

"Shan, I got the pizzas what you doin’?” Jey asked as I put Sofia’s wine in my purse. “I had to put Sofia’s bottle of wine in here,” I said as we walked inside the hospital.

“So you really gon’ give it to her,” Jey asked as I laughed. “Damn right, she just birthed a whole human. If the mama wants wine, she gon’ have damn wine,” I said as we got on the elevator.

"I can’t wait to see him," Jey said as l smiled at him. "I can’t either," I said as we got off the elevator.

"Damn, I hear them from here," Jey said as we passed the nurses station.

It had been quiet when we left about an hour ago, as Sofia was in recovery and they had taken the baby to be cleaned up.

Going in I couldn’t help but smile as it seemed like a scene out of a movie. A big family gathered around laughing and welcoming their new loved one into the family.

"Man, he looks just like you, little brother," Jimmy said as Trin placed Cameron in his grandmother's arms. Solo was beaming from ear to ear as I saw Sofia's eyes light up.

"Whooo, is that my pizza?" Sofia asked looking at the boxes in Jey’s hand.

"Yep, you know we got you, yours is on top and I got extra for everybody else," Jey said putting a box in front of her.

"Don’t forget this," I said pulling out a huge bottle of red wine. “You remembered!” Sofia exclaimed as Solo laughed.

“Yes, I did, and it’s here for when you want it," l said as I gave Sofia a hug.

"Sis, you can sit here so you can hold the baby," Solo said getting out of his seat. He ain't had to tell me twice, I all but ran to his chair. I was ready to hold my nephew.

"Ok, now hold his little head," Mama Fatu instructed placing Cameron in my arms.

“Hey Cam, I’m your auntie and this is your uncle," I said pointing at Jey who had kneeled beside me caressing his tiny face as he slept.

“Man he’s beautiful bro,” Jey said admiring his nephew. "You look good with a baby in your arms Shantell," Papa Kish said as I smiled, despite knowing my future of being a mom would be a hard road to travel.

"Maybe it will happen one day pops," I said caressing Cameron's tiny head as he slept. "Hey, it will," Jey said wrapping his arms around Cameron and me as I leaned on him.

"I promise you it will baby," he whispered placing a gentle kiss on top of my head.

I would love to be a mother and a wife someday. Jey's wife...

Maybe I can finally tell this man I love him. He’s amazing in every way and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us.

We had a few more days off before it was back to the grind of the road, but I think there was one thing we all could agree on.

Every extra minute we had was going to be spent spoiling Cameron.

tried to go by ‘e.b.’ but her mum went berserk because she’d reduced her name to two letters for the ease of her yt friends and her brother bullied her for being e.t’s ugly sister so now she tries to go by silver star (her name translated into english) but it doesn’t quite stick

claims that her older sister and younger brother stole all her beauty, brain cells and height

family invested everything into older sister so she could go to college in new york: savings, loans, moved to smaller house which is even further from the town centre

brother requires all attention as he has high hopes of getting into college on a baseball scholarship and she lowkey can’t wait until he’s far away from woodstock

her grades have always been average so no one expects her to leave – her parents talk about how nice it is that she’ll be with them forever but she knows that’s because they want her to take care of them when they’re old … which she would! if they didn’t live in woodstock

she tells them she’s going to move to california, but they think she’s as serious about that as she is about wanting to go to college, or becoming supermodel of the world, or an olympic swimmer, when she has average grades, of average height, and can’t even swim

if her life was a movie, she’d have fallen asleep in the first ten minutes – it has always been so boring and uneventful, so she lives up in her head with her fake scenarios to keep things interesting – most of the time, they’re taken straight from a book or magazine

sometimes these thoughts spill over into reality because she can’t fathom the idea of people realising she’s as plain as she is, and her little white lies give her a bit of sparkle to stand out (in her opinion)

but she will get to california!

she even has a plan:

she’s been working at freddy’s diner since she was fifteen, escaping to high volume whenever she can, a place where she can pop her headphones on during her breaks and pretend she’s getting ogled at on venice beach, but she’s terrible at saving so seven years later she’s still grinding

once she graduates high school, she has enough time for a second job and she’d dropped enough hints in front of jerry for him to kindly offer her a job. after all, she spends as much time in high volume as she does at freddy’s so there’s not much of a difference once she becomes an employee -- still floating around the place, sipping on her coke can, either people watching or people chasing -- except now she has access to the register

after a big argument with her parents, she ended up moving out into a place in the middle of town. that was never part of the plan because saving was easier when she lived at home. she’ll say things got really bad but really, she was just getting closer to her target and she wanted a valid reason to put it off for a bit longer

she was only supposed to do it once – stealing from the cash register. it was just right there, no one was around, and she thought it was going to be her last shift because jerry was angry at her for being late again (granted, he hadn’t actually been mad, but it was one of those days when everything felt personal)

besides, she’d overheard a group of girls she’d idolised in school talk about how they stole some underwear and they made it sound so cool

she felt like everyone could hear her heart thumping against her chest as she walked out of the store but the day after, no one said anything about it, no one even noticed, and she wasn’t fired. so she did it again, and again, and again, and eventually she didn’t even bat an eyelid

the extra money was supposed to help her reach her goal faster but, again, she’s terrible at saving and her parents are so hardworking, she can’t help but feel guilty and buy nice things for them every once in a while and when they ask where she got the money from, she lies and says jerry gave her a bonus for being a good employee

on the other hand, if they’ve had an argument, or they’ve forgotten about her again, she’ll have a full on les-mis-i-dreamed-a-dream episode then splurge out on a cute jacket because it’s hers and it’s new! rather than worn out hand-me-downs from her sister or brother!

started her own side hustle called the separation agency – inspired after a customer at high volume asked her to help him break up with his boyfriend. so she’s the messenger for people who have things to say but don’t have the balls to say it to someone’s face themselves. usually they’re horrible messages, like break ups. she’s had like three customers and tries to promote her side hustle whilst on her shift at high volume

she thinks her “business” could actually thrive in a bigger city which is just another reason why she needs to get out of woodstock – it’s holding her back!

anyway, jerry’s missing, which is perfect for her because she gets to come in late and not get told off, and maybe steal a little more than she usually does

PERSONALITY:

when she’s around people, she seems like an extrovert: bubbly, talkative, dramatic ... which uses up a lot of her energy and her social battery is weak, so needs her own space often, and likes doing nothing by herself so sometimes she’ll lie to get out of plans or bail last minute

she has big dreams, and talks about all her big plans, but has leaving anxiety which is why she’s shit at saving and makes up excuses as to why she can’t leave just yet

has main character syndrome -- likes to live her life as a romcom, most of her lies revolve around her love life because she wants to be seen as desirable, but also will overanalyse everything

sensitive, passionate, immature, sympathetic, fickle, clumsy, dramatic, caring, head in clouds

will pretend to knows things to fit in like ~hipster~ bands or anything really, depends on the crowd

could gladly spend all day talking to customers at work then the next day she’ll prefer to day dream in the storage room

rides a bike to and from work and almost everywhere else too -- the only one out of her siblings who had to bike to school because small car and siblings took up all the space -- she’s had the same bike since high school

loves spice girls but feels like she’ll be judged so keeps quiet and plays it when she’s closing

honestly could hate you one day and have a crush on you the next but you wouldn’t even know it -- a vicious cycle

collects stickers and leaves them everywhere and on everyone - often passive aggressive through them, basically uses them like emojis

will try to order food and get others to pay for it - especially kfc, never gets to eat the drumsticks at home so will honestly cry if people steal the drumsticks from her

buys lottery tickets and scratch cards because she has a 50/50 chance of winning

xoxo gossip girl: someone who loves a good gossip sesh -- they probably send 👀 at each other across the store when things feel a bit tense, which is code for ‘meet me in the storage room’ so they can chat away for the rest of their shift

lunch stealer: she makes her own lunch every day and is extremely protective over it but one day it went missing and she knows it was them (maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t) so now they are her sworn enemy

sister’s/brother’s friend: therefore an automatic enemy

shut up: someone who just tells her to shut up because she chats so much shit and she’s insane - just sandra x dina vibes from superstore (x)

carpool karaoke: she hates cycling in when it’s raining, so either she’s trying to get them to be her designated driver or has already succeeded and is annoying about it

crush #1: someone she has a crush on (more of an infatuation) and they’re not interested in her in the slightest but in her head they’re giving her mixed signals and she has made up a fake boyfriend to try to make them jealous

crush #2: someone she thinks has a crush on her. either because they’re nice or tease her or just mean, it doesn’t matter, she’s insane so she’ll interpret it however she wants

ex: they never broke up, or even dated, but she thinks something almost happened between them and she thinks she cut things off by giving them space

separation agency: someone who once used the agency either out of the kindness of their heart or for a different reason entirely and now she won’t stop pestering them to try and get them to use it again
