Replaying MM rn and Jumin's penthouse makes no sense. Is his bed in the living room? There are canonically guest rooms. But the single cgi they use makes his 'luxury penthouse' look like a studio apartment. I love him tho ❤️

LMAO this is something that also plagues me constantly, especially as someone who thinks about Jumin as often as I do. I have constructed a vague layout of the penthouse in my head for the sake of writing (and daydreaming) but canon really does make it seem as though his bed is in the living room, or at the very least astoundingly close to the entrance. I can only assume that they didn't put all that much thought into it, and the intention was either

1. the background we see is merely supposed to be his bedroom and they thought it was the best place to have things unfold—either thematically or for convenience of them making it a thing that you're sleeping in his bed. There was just little consideration of the fact it's sort of weird that every character interaction at the penthouse therefore happens in his bedroom

or

2. the penthouse is a very big, mostly open plan space so almost everything (including his "bedroom") is easily accessible, and Jumin and MC just spend most of their time over there for whatever reason.

It is however the only part of the penthouse we actually see in any detail, so who knows. Cheritz like to do things that make no sense

Jumin is literally willing to take everything into his own hands just to let the RFA grieve without having to worry about anything else. He's so incredibly selfless here, and I can't help but admire this about him with all my heart... And he's putting all of this responsibility onto his shoulders while suffering deeply. He's amazing.

Kinda wanna write a 5+1 thing of the RFA seeing the more "serious" side of Saeran and the MC's relationship. In the AE everyone seems to know that something happened in Mint Eye but not really any details, it makes me want to explore the idea more, you know? Just some small moments where the rest of the RFA realizes "oh this isn't just honeymoon phase, they've seen some SHIT together-"

Jumin

Jumin could tell by the way both your eyes looked at each other. How they're seeking not just simple confirmation or love, for that matter. He's able to tell right away they're conflicting feelings underneath from the moment your connection got cut off the messager. So there's perhaps space to discover how deep your story reaches, but it's not his business to pry, you know? He can tell just by the way you're eyeing each other.

Jaehee

She realizes once Saeran falls asleep at the set of the intelligence unit and saw the message that suddenly popped up to his phone. She didn't mean to supervise, it's just a nasty habit of keeping an eye on everything. You texted him »I know we're going through so much since meeting at Mint Eye... Please stay strong. I'll be here once you're home, love.« And that's enough for her to make the conclusion she already figured at the start like Jumin.

Zen

You sat down to have a little dink with him and jokingly he told you how he's kinda jealous of yours and Saeran's soft relationship and that he'd like a partner like you for himself. The way your eyes ground catch him off guard. “It's not all easy, you know... Mint Eye was a hard time for the both of us.” You tell him and Zen's face shifts to awareness. That made you both share a smile in sympathy.

Yoosung

Saeran and Yoosung like cooking together for the RFA! So when you give Saeran a goodbye kiss for the time being, Yoosung will whine once you're out of the door. “Man, I wish I had a relationship like you two...” Saeran gives him an emphatic look before patting his shoulder. “Let it not be based on delusions first, though.. That will hurt the both of you.” The advice takes Yoosung aback, but it finally makes klick.

Saeyoung

Saeyoung knows as he'd been there up close when the After Ending happened. You later told him what took place when chasing after Saeran, meeting the prime minister and how you stood up for your lover after he got beaten down... It's a shock, yet not surprising to the older twin. Saeyoung admirers and respects your relationship like no other, considering he had seen it like no other person^^

Similar to Saeyoung, he'd been upfront close and couldn't help notice how much different your relationship to each other were than his to Rika. You're not just all lovey-dovey like he'd first thought. You... Both share pain and learn from each other's mistakes. As if you're sharing the pain and the healing... He cannot say he's not jealous, but he's more happy Saeran finally found someone good.

The RFA is quite smart, they will come around and realize eventually! 🎀

Jumin Caring for Saeyoung in V's AE

This is where Saeyoung just found out that Saeran was in the Mint Eye building when it exploded. My heart is overflowing with love for Jumin—he cares SO much. He's the first person to go after Saeyoung after hearing the news. His wisdom shines here as he tries to calm Saeyoung down by asking him to talk about Saeran.

There's comfort in being allowed to talk about the person you lost and not being thought as a burden for doing so. Perhaps Jumin said this because it was what he needed for himself and now he can sympathise. This man had to go through grief alone after all. Look how he won't leave even when Saeyoung keeps being mean to push him away.

Ok Saeran AE good ending dump, here are some random thoughts

The president plot was ended really underwhelmingly, but I'm glad that although Saeran chose to forgive him, the writers are aware this isn't something anyone can do and let saeyoung continue hating him. Honestly, forgiving or not forgiving him aside, I just didn't like the way they made the president go 'ah.. you're right maybe I am a lonely bad guy' LIKE NO WAY THAT ASSHOLE CARES ABOUT THAT, I couldn't take any dialogues seriously

First of all. Why the fuck is jumin han a politician all of a sudden 😭 And like, forget being a politician, he is a candidate for presidency??????? Am I reading it right?? How exactly..???

Anyway I FORGOT ABOUT YOOSUNG AT PATISSIER AWWWW It's so nice to see him find himself even if this is saeran's route! You're doing so good love <3 I was gonna say it doesn't make sense that they made him chase his patissier dream when in his own route he thinks about why he wants to become a vet and decides to go that way, but I realized, since another story is 2 years before the casual one I guess he felt more free about leaving his medical studies 😭 he was able to change his path more easily because he just started school, and also he doesn't have a lover like mc in korea unlike his route so that might also affect his choices. But I think he's happy in either ending so I'm glad <33

They did well with Yoosung but. why didn't Jaehee get the same treatment. I don't get it. They were clever enough to remember other characters' goals and worries and made them happy in this AE, except for Jaehee. I wish they made her leave her position too, since Jumin Han is now involved with politics it could be the perfect excuse for Jaehee to stop being his assistant. I'm guessing that this is also because AS is 2 years earlier, which means Jaehee hasn't suffered in her job enough to leave yet, and she probably doesn't have the money to open a coffee shop anyway (she isn't even into coffee professionally yet although she said she was interested a bit) But idk I wish they left us a clue that Jaehee will also get to find her happiness in the future 😭😭

Another thing I'm confused about is that where the hell does saeran get money from 😭😭 how are we 'lovey dovey at some place romantic'😭 Saeyoung probably has more than enough money so he might have forced Saeran to have it all lol that's the only explanation I can think of. In the alternate ending Saeran has a greenhouse (considering that he said himself to be careful of people raising herbs in the wild I find this funny but well ofc it's the dream job for saeran) but I'm not sure what we're supposed to be doing in this ending lol

Like, apparently we're hippies now?? Feel love and peace~~

Saeran AE has its problems, but I still love it anyway and I'm not sure how they would be able to make a good ending differently, so I'll just take the good stuff and leave out the bad writing lol I remember going crazy about new illusts in 2020,,, can't believe it's been 3 years already. Happy new years btw I guess? 🌱 Idk how to end this post

It got me thinking in Saeyoung's AE when Saeran said Saeyoung can have obsessive tendencies ik it's a dream but does that mean Saeyoung does have them

Saeyoung's initial After Ending that you unlock after his route is a manifestation of his subconscious. It's nothing more than a dream where he imagines a happy ending with his friends and family, and that means while everything feels warm and fuzzing, it also feels a little uncanny because Saeyoung's subconscious doesn't know how to engage with an older Saeran.

He doesn't know what Saeran is like and his mind cultivates an image of his mind's idea of a perfect happy ending until he jolts up in a cold sweat, realizing it was just a dream. So, we have to take anything in a dream with a grain of salt. However, what I can tell you is what I'm so sure of when it comes to Saeyoung. I won't call it obsession, I will do one better and call it what it is.

Saeyoung suffers from PTSD and acute paranoia. His mind believes he needs to be prepared for war, even if there's no reason to fight a single soul. It's a byproduct of hypervigilance in an abusive home, on top of the years he spent in the agency, living in fear that someone in the group would kill him, or worse, someone he pissed off would cut off his life before he had a chance to see his brother "happy".

So, this majorly shapes how Saeyoung engages with this. Even at his best, his fears control him. He is at risk of losing everything at every step of the way. That's what his mind thinks, and if you pay attention to him enough, you get to notice a lot of little patterns and quirks on the way to loving him that shows just how difficult it can be for him. We know his fears are often justified, but that doesn't mean it's good for him to live that way.

Saeyoung is a smart man, but he will act rashly when he's afraid of losing something. A good example is when he yanked Saeran out of the hospital in the Secret Ending. He knew that was wrong, and that his brother needed medical attention, but the fear that any slip-up in that place could draw attention from Saejoong made him act. He did not think twice. He stole Saeran from the hospital, thinking that was the only way to save his life.

Poor choice.

Saeran needed help.

But, the risk/benefit analysis in his head told him that Saeran could never heal if Saejoong killed him, and leaving him in the hospital at his worst when Jumin warned him that they couldn't cover up these things with his brother forever was never going to pan out in his old head. So, would I say that Saeyoung could be obsessive when he's in a place where he acts out of paranoia and fear?

Kind of, but that's not the word I'd use like I said. He isn't a "yandere" which, I feel like a lot of these questions tend to ask that without the word being used. He doesn't want to control you so you never leave. It's not about that.

It's the fear that if he doesn't marry you or get to experience being with you "like normal guys get to do in relationships", he might lose you. Like, you'll get killed by someone and he'll live in misery alone forever because you were his only love and he never got to see you with a ring on your hand. Or, you break up with him because he's just not good enough and he accepts that he ruined a good thing. He is insecure and fearful, my friends. But, not toxic intentionally.

Controlling is a better word. He means well but that doesn't mean it's the right thing. I think people need to think about how Saeyoung struggles because as his MC, you and Saeran are the ones who will have to deal with Saeyoung's paranoia. That doesn't just go away because Saeran is with you. Saejoong is still a threat and so are many people he pissed off in the agency.

Saeyoung will be... well, at his worst, controlling and pressuring. Take this tracker with you, call me if you leave somewhere alone, let me go and make sure you're safe on the CCTV, let me know where you are and how you're doing throughout the day, and so on and so forth. He lives in a secured bunker, too. Do you know how many locks are on it and how long it takes to crack?

It's safe but it could end up feeling like a prison.

I don't get to talk a lot about Saeyoung since the guy is my brother-in-law and people don't ask me about his mental health or what's going on in his head. His paranoia is the tip of the iceberg, I haven't even unpacked how he was parentified and how that affects the way he interacts with Saeran!

A Review of The Ssum (from the perspective of an MM fan)

Ok, so the first thing I would like to say is:

Please be considerate toward Ssum; it’s an entirely different game from MM, and despite there being similarities, SSum is NOT Mystic!! (but you all know that, surely ^^)

However, I will be comparing things in my rant...because I am one of those Mystic Messenger Fans ;-;

(Also I see some of you all asking Cheritz for more MM content...I get it, I want some more too but...we all have heard that Cheritz has (supposedly) said that updates for content will be sparse or MUCH less frequent

So first things first: Teo.

I’ve already seen people say this, but he’s sort of...bland? In fact, he actually seems like a mild mixture of Zen, 707, and Yoosung. He’s an aspiring film director who likes to game in his spare time, and is helping test developing AIs. After growing up with Mystic, it’s strange to see such a normal character!

The typing speed is extremely slow, and you can’t speed it up.

The only way to speed it up (from what I’ve seen) is to pay $9.99 for fast typing speed. That’s...a lot more than Max Speed in MM.

Here’s some comments I found in Ssum already, lol:

Aside from the MM comments, I see a LOT of people being super baffled about the interface of Ssum. There are a ton of features that MM never had, and for former and present MM fans, it’s very new and confusing.

There’s also the fact that the purchases aren’t made to be a one time purchase. In fact, the packages are SUBSCRIPTIONS. Meaning you have to pay MONTHLY. Some people just cannot afford a subscription (myself included).

This, along with the fact that everything seems overpriced, is making MM fans a bit irritated that they can’t fully enjoy this new game without having to spend money.

Fourth!

Here’s some of my personal opinions on the game!

The interface is really nice! It’s smooth, it’s clean, it’s modern and new :)

The voice acting is really cute and high quality, and I appreciate that.

However, the way that Teo talks with you in the chatrooms and over the phone is a bit strange. It’s a bit sudden, and feels sort of rushed.

I mean, it’s only two chats in and he’s talking about how he feels flushed talking to you!

I also understand the idea of talking to only one person to get to know them, but it is honestly strange to not have a wider option of characters. (Is Cheritz planning on adding more characters? I genuinely do not know)

Also, a little detail, but you can’t pause the phone calls. I understand that you’re simulating a real phone call but what if I’m busy? ;-;

For MM fans, it's definitely not going to overtake Mystic.

It doesn’t have the same “charm”, and I feel like MM fans are just going to hold onto Ssum simply because it’s a Cheritz game.

We do need to keep in mind that Cheritz has spent 4 years creating this game. That’s very commendable (...despite the fact they kept telling people they’d release it, ...only to push it back another few months)

Still, I do know mystic fans want Mystic content to continue rather than have to deal with an entirely new and different game.

MM attachment shouldn’t be carried over as irritation for Ssum. BUT, that irritation is understandable considering MM is what we’ve lived off from Cheritz for a solid 6 years.

My closing thought is that I genuinely believe that people who have never played Mystic will enjoy Ssum! Having a clear slate and not having gotten attached to the former game will definitely allow for hardcore Ssum fans to crop up.

Unfortunately, I know that I’ll always be a die-hard MM fan.

why i love Jumin + why he's one of the best characters imo

Even if we take away all the economic power he manages we could still find a good quality character. I usually see Jumin being highlighted for his wealth, but he by himself is a good-hearted, sweet and understanding person.

Jumin can take neutral standpoints to support others and give more logical or rational advice rather than emotional, as seen in some chats when problems arise. He shows a lot of concern (not so directly) with all RFA members and he even says that if they made mistakes, he would always forgive them.

Here are some examples:

SPOILER OF V'S AE: He was the first to try to give Saeyoung encouragement when he was about to give up after thinking Saeran was dead, who gave him a job in his company and accepted him for who he is.

SPOILER ZEN'S ROUTE: Despite all the conflicts he has with Zen, he never wanted to stop supporting him, offering him employment and took the time to go talk to him at his worst and clear things up between the two of them.

SPOILER ROUTE 707: This was hilarious in my opinion, but him caring about Yoosung missing his mother and him calling her was kind of cute, probably his intention was genuine.

The support he gives V is very touching, he is the one who remembers most of the things they did or happened to them, who trusts V even when his own intuition and RFA's trust fades, who always supported him and was there for him when his mother died.

Also, within the story he is an important character, as he is the one who handles the most connections and who can give the best financial support.

He tries to be informed about many topics, even if they are ridiculous and tends to be somewhat innocent for that very reason, he is very curious.

He is open to listen and understand, he is like that voice that reminds you of the reality but not only leaves you with the problem, but he always thinks of solutions, because he is very strategic.

HE IS AN ECOCAPITALIST AND LOVES ANIMALS, HELLO?

Supportive boyfriend so real.

He doesn't care about social status when it comes to the people he loves.

He always takes in consideration the opinion and consent of his loved ones, he always wants to be respectful and wants to be trusted by his partner.
