I’m rewatching Doctor Who and I’m on Season 9 Ep 3 trying to figure out why O’Donnell looks so damn familiar
It’s because she’s baby Penelope Fittes and I’m once again deeply mourning Lockwood & Co 🥲

Antis: “Elain and Azriel won’t end up together she can’t have his babies!!!! Nesta didn’t change her for a reason!”“SJM bRoUgHt Up GwYnS pLiAnT bOnEs To ShOw ShE CaN HaVe AzRiElS kIdS”GWYNRIEL COMFIRMED!!
✨Literally Sarah J Maas in Hofas: “You're chattel to them.To the Autumn King, to Morven, to your dad. Your only value comes from your breeding potential. They don't give a f**k if you're smart or brave or kind. They only want you for your uterus, and Luna spare you if you have any troubles with it. "And you're cool with it?" Bryce countered, unable to stop the sharpness in her voice. "You're cool with being used and treated like that? Like you're lesser than them?” Page 483✨
I love how she shuts misogynistic theories down. It’s almost like shes about empowering women and think they are worth so much more than just their breeding potential. ❤️

“I don’t see much of a reason to hang around,” Bryce said coldly. “I don’t see why you’d want to, either. You’re chattel to them. To the Autumn King, to Morven, to your dad. Your only value comes from your breeding potential. They don’t give a f*ck if you’re smart🌸 or brave🌸 or kind🌸. They only want you for your uterus, and Luna spare you if you have any troubles with it.”

The one thing SJM did right in this book.

HOFAS thoughts as I read it: (SPOILERS below)
All that t*rture in the dungeons, Ruhn’s piercing and tattoos. Baxian’s tattoo. The wings. “How strong is your bite?” Sarahhhhh!!!!! Stop! That was more than I could handle😫
The Middengard Wyrm😖. Nesta dealt with it brilliantly but it just makes you appreciate how impossible it was that human Feyre managed to kill this thing by herself with no decent weapons.
Azriel hugging Nesta and stroking her hair after she took the Mask off🥺
Bryce’s wallpaper being Hunt and the photo of her friends in the phone case—that made me tear up
Imagining the inner circle all surrounding Bryce’s phone trying to figure out how it works is hilarious. Also Nesta being jealous of Bryce’s music collection, “THOUSAND?”
The nightbright angst KILLED me💔💔💔
Hunt just dreaming of Bryce. She’s the only thing pulling him through, “He’d wanted so many things with her. A normal, happy life. Children.” HE BETTER GET EVERY SINGLE ONE IF THOSE THINGS OR HANDS WILL BE THROWN!
Silene. The Daglan. My theories were true😁😁
Sigrid. I had so much hope for her story but I was disappointed. Hopefully it’ll get better
Ariadne!! I wanted to see more of her😕
Ruhn’s bedroom. The burn cream😭😭😭
Lidia FUCKING Cervos. That breakout scene. Magnificent.
Jesiba and Ithan’s dynamic. Librarian Ithan and the fact that Jesiba is a Parthos priestess!!! Also JellyJubilee being the computer password😂
Bryce using the mating bond to teleport to Hunt😭😭😭
Bran and Ace. Lidia giving them her ruby ring for tuition as a goodbye💔
Hunt and Bryce got married?!!! WHEN?
Cloudberry crown sounds funny idk why
If I had a penny every time SJM included a set of unhinged/partly unhinged fae twins (yes connall I’m looking at you) in her series, I’d have three pennies bc it happens every single time
So the astronomer is basically a Voldemort 2.0
Flynn and dec going crazy for waffles on the mer ship
“I never had anyone fight for me” Oh Lidia my love😭😭
Guess I’m shipping Tharion and Sathia now🤷‍♀️
Lidia being turned on by Ruhn lighting a fire—girl, I get it.
“Because I’m yours, Day. I’m fucking yours.” Screaming crying throwing up
Lidia: “I want you all the time”😭😭😭😭😭😭😩😩😩😩💗💗💗
Idk why but I am disappointed in the Autumn King, I thought there would be some redemption for him for some reason
Ruhn: “I am going to live and I am going to live well without you”😭😭
Bryce was always a queen but now she a queen Queen👀
Avallen becoming all green again.
Hunt being a demonic test tube baby😂😂
Dec being the first to look for service. Typical😂
Ithan x Perry???? Cinnamon and strawberry? I start getting suspicious when they notice all the nuances of that person’s scent. I think they’d be cute though
Nooooo, the prime—I keep thinking of him as master oogway from king fu panda and it makes me sad
Sabines finally dead🥳🥳
Ithan is prime now? Okay okay pop offf!!
Hunt finally breaking free of his halo and freeing Isaiah as well❤️
Is the under king from the ToG universe??? Valg??
Connor💔💔💔😭😭😭 The bullet. Memento mori
Sathia and Colin McCarthy. This will be interesting
Commando Hunt. The underwear was too small🤭🫨🫨
Morven guest room having red lace thongs😂😂
Okay tharion and sathia are really growing on me🥰🥰🥰
‘She’s my mate you fucker’ SCREAAMMING
Ace finally calling Lidia Mom😭❤️
Lidia is the descendant of Brannon. The fire, the hind/sacred stag. OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!
Pollux being incinerated☺️☺️☺️
The sprites and Irithys💗
The kill switch, the godslayer rifle. Bryce just blackholing the Asteri. She is so brilliant and cunning and clever and I love her.
Danika and the pack. Light it up Bryce. I SOBBED
Jesiba crying and then her sacrifice😭😭😭💔💔
Ember and Randal going to Prythian. Randal bonding with Rhys but more importantly Ember and Nesta—I want to cryyyy🥹🥹🥹
Starsword/Gwydion back in Prythian…whats going to happen in ACOTAR 5???
The princes of Hel—you gotta love em
Lidia and Ruhn finally having that beer
Flynn x Perry? Jealous Ithan😏
Syrinx running for his life when Hunt and Bryce share a heated look. It’s nothing new but it cracks me up all the time
Pegasuses in Avallen🥰🥰

An initial list of questions spawned from HOFAS
HOFAS spoilers below the break.
I’ve been thinking about some big and some small questions since I finished HOFAS last night and wanted to preserve them here with some of my thoughts for later discussion. I am also planning some larger theory posts to try to answer some of these questions.
Also, please reblog with any additional questions you may have if you’d like!!!
Where are the other Hel princes and what are they fighting?
Are Valg related to the Asteri or the Hel princes (or both)?
Are Valg children of the Void like the Hel princes?
Is the Under-King Valg and has he been hiding in the Under-King body living off of some of the Second Light?
How do Koschei and the Carver and the Weaver fit in with this?
Is Az also a descendant of the second daughter since he’s Starborn?
Is ToG on the same timeline as Prythian and CC?
Are the tall fae that came to Midgard from Erilea coming from the same time period depicted at the oasis in ToD when Yrene and Chaol find those carvings from the first demon wars, before Elena or Gavin were born?
Who on Prythian is a powerful enough starborn to wield and use Gwydion and TT? Is Elain? Or will the three Archeron sisters together make Theia’s light anew, as @offtorivendell @wingedblooms and I have theorized that each Archeron sister has part of Theia’s light.
Will the Archeron sisters be able to wield TT and Gwydion together to kill the unkillable—Koschei?
Did Bryce revive Dusk by taking Silene’s light back like she did Avallen when she took Theia’s light out of it? Or will someone (Elain???? Cc @wingedblooms) revive Dusk?
Does Urd = Wyrd = Chaos = the Dark Mother?
Is the temple in Hel that looks like Urd’s temple a temple to Chaos, Hel’s version of Urd and Apollion’s mother?
Were the ToG gods and the Asteri sucked (back into?) the Void, and if so, can the Void send them back or can they be retrieved from the Void by something?
What IS the connection between the gods in all these worlds, like Bryce asked when she was in Prythian?
Why do all these different fae societies oppress the females? Is it because only females can be powerful starborn, and some forces are at work to suppress that power to protect darker beings? Like how Pelias seems to have created a society that doesn’t allow women to get access to anything related to starborn to prevent another starborn queen from rising?
Can only females be powerful starborn/light wielders and can only males be powerful dark wielders/shadow wielders? Like how Hypaxia says six pointed star is two triangles, one male one female one light one dark (three brothers who are dark princes, three sisters who are starborn/princesses of light?)
Are there male lightsingers or female shadowsingers, or do singers follow these same rules?
Are morven and the murder twins descended from people from Hybern? The murder twins are daemati and remind me of the Hybern twins, and Morven’s shadows are described like ravens.
Does this mean TT has slewn two Hybern kings?
Where does the Starborn power come from?
Where in Prythian are the avallen from?
Are the Starborn and Avallen the same people?
Was Fionn the original king of darkness/shadows and theia the original queen of light/starborn queen? And are the males of their line the former, and the females the latter?
Where in Prythian did Fionn and Pelias come from?
Can TT unMake a mating bond?
Can Elain wield Gwydion and TT together to unMake her bond with Lucien and Make a bond with Azriel?
Aidas tells Hunt some higher power must have made them Mates. We have all these super powerful fae finding their powerful mates right before these huge universe altering moments. Is this part of how Urd is using them as pawns in her plans/games?
Why does Amren’s timeline not match Silene’s re the creation of the Prison? Was this just a continuity error, did Silene manipulate memories, or is this fishy on Amren’s part?
Was Enalius one of the people with Fionn and Theia on Ramiel when they made Gwydion and TT?
Did Nesta give up some of her Starborn powers when she gave back what she stole from the Cauldron, and does this mean she won’t be able to wield and use Gwydion and TT, which will lead to Elain’s role with this?

sarah has something to say at hofas for flexible bone advocates obsessed with women's uteruses. listen to her :)
Indeed
*spoilers below
I see no reason to stay around - Bryce replied coldly. - And I don't even know why you would want that. For them, you have the same value as a piece of furniture. For the Autumn King, for Morven, for your father. Its only value comes from its reproductive potential. It doesn't matter if you're smart, brave or kind. They just want to know about your uterus, and that Luna saves you from having problems in this regard.
I know - replied ***, the voice is also cold. - I've known all this since I was a child.
- And do you accept? - countered Bryce, unable to contain the roughness in his voice. - Do you accept to be used and treated in this way? How if it was worth less than them? Do you accept that you have no rights and do not decide your own future? Do you agree with a life in which you should belong to your male relatives or your husband?
No, but it's the reality in which I was born.

House of Flame and Shadow 🌙 Review
Let me just say that I absolutely loved 90% of the book, it was perfect in many, ways. But that ending… it kinda spoiled the book for me…
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and a half
Let’s start with that! I felt the built-up to the battle with the Asteri was bigger and more interesting than the battle itself. It ended way too quickly and too easily. The Asteri really didn’t put up that much of a fight. Two books leading up to this moment and then it just that? I was disappointed, not gonna lie. The battle needed more momentum and more magnitude, it felt really small.
I also saw some comments about the crossover, of people disappointed that it was just Nesta and Azriel, and didn’t get a chance to see Feyre or Nyx, or even Mor. Don’t get me wrong, I wanted to see them too, but the crossover was not a big reunion of all the characters. The purpose of the crossover was to find the connection with the trove and the starlight bloodline, the connection between the blades, and for that, only Nesta and Azriel are necessary. Maybe a novella would be different, but I think the crossover was done right, even in the bonus chapters (also, Sarah can you please stop with the different versions of the books and different chapters spread god knows where?! Thank you!)
As you may know, Bryce lost some of my affection during this book, her insensitive remarks to Hunt pissed me off so much. And even to Lidia, saying her kids are baggage, honestly, I don’t know how Lidia didn’t freak out on her. I get that she’s young and has the world on her shoulders, but it doesn’t feel like enough of an excuse. And Hunt was never a personal favorite of mine (I still liked him enough, though) so if this is really the last book where they are the main couple I don’t really mind it! Lidia and Ruhn carried the book anyway 😍 and I feel like SJM explored Bryce and Hunt’s relationship enough. The next one would definitely benefit from a different and fresh perspective.
Also, I was never a fan of the whole Danika thing. I understand her importance to Bryce and to the story but how it was built made me really dislike her for some reason. I know she was brave and cared for Bryce deeply, and was willing to sacrifice (and did in the end) a lot for the cause. But she never sat right with me. And that whole bonus chapter where she just gets Bryce drunk (I know, I know, Bryce didn’t need any help, I know) it just made things worse. It was obvious she had a plan since the beginning and Bryce just went along because she cared deeply for her friend. And while I don’t doubt Danika’s affection and friendship with Bryce, at some point you have to wonder how much was real when Danika was hiding so much vital information, and not only about her cause, but about herself.
The rest of the book I liked just fine. Celestina should have died, and this is the hill I’m dying on. She deserved it. And she had no redemption at all to earn the mercy Bryce got her. The autumn king's death was spectacular! And Morven’s too! How I laughed, I was never that happy with characters dying. AND SABINE! This book had many, many happy moments for me 😂 I only felt bad about the Prime, he deserved a more dignified death than what he got and the way Sabine killed him… she deserved all that she got. And Sigrid? That little bitch! I know she’s not in control, she’s a freshly made reaper, probably still adjusting, running on instinct, but I mean… siding with Sabine? SABINE?! Ithan will be one hell of a prime, I just know it!
There were a few surprises that got me screaming. I think Lidia’s kids connect her with the spring court because of the fertility rite (but we’ll get to that!) and Hypaxja as the head of Flame and Shadow! I think the true wonders of Hypaxia’s power are still to be shown and I’m all for it!
Now, I’m assuming the next book will be House of Many Waters, if SJM is following the house names. Here I think Tharion could definitely play a bigger role! HOFAS spent a lot of time setting him up, but also Hypaxia (who became the head of flame and shadow! and is also Lidia’s sister!) and Ithan! If Tharion and Hypaxia's friendship were to grow into something deeper, and Tharion somehow became the head of Many Waters, imagine the power couple!
But I have so many questions about this book and its connection to the others and other series! So many that I think maybe it’s better to put them in another post and organize them there 😅 otherwise this will never end!

Just finished reading House of Flame and Shadow (Crescent City Book 3) by Sarah J Maas. It was a fine read and pretty much exactly what you’d expect to get from her. In my opinion, the book felt like it got edited to all hell in order to keep the story arc down to a trilogy. There’s scene jumps constantly where it doesn’t make sense to have scene jumps and the cast is so big that the book doesn’t do most of them justice. Some major spoilers to follow as I talk about more specific things!
The book has some enjoyable scenes, particularly if you’re a fan of angsty romance, angst in general, or comeuppance for assholes. However the pacing of the book is so fast that it never feels like there’s any stakes and all the characters’ plans just work out. A lot of the comeuppance could be a lot more satisfying if time was taken to actually put the characters in bad situations they have to get out of. For example when the characters are in Avallen, they never really find themselves at the mercy of King Morven. They go where they want and do what they want and the one time Morven gets involved, they just kill him.
I enjoyed getting to read Lidia’s scenes in this book but feel like SJM missed the mark on her backstory. There’s a lot of hinting about her terrible father and life, then some interesting scenes where she clearly knows King Morven more than the other characters. Unfortunately, none of that matters as she is not King Morven’s daughter and her family lineage is actually the same as Aelin from the Throne of Glass series. I know that there’d have to be some major explanations for how she and Cormac didn’t know each other and all that jazz but it could’ve really helped some of the other issues the book had.
My only other major complaint is that this book was setup to be like a big fun crossover with the ACOTAR characters and then the book didn’t do anything with that at all. We only see Nesta and Azriel (technically Rhysand in the beginning but all he does is ask Bruce a few questions and leave) as they walk through some underground caves with Bryce, who leaves once their journey ends. The whole time Bryce is in the ACOTAR realm is one big exposition dump that could’ve come from anywhere. I was disappointed with the crossover stuff, but oh well!
Anyway, it was a fine book and I enjoyed it a reasonable amount despite these complaints. XD If you like SJM’s work and aren’t invested in your own particular lore theories being correct then you’ll like this book.

so many misc amaya headcanons bc i had way too much time to think about her at work today
the court of the autumn king is extremely formal and misogynistic. to that end, to touch a member of the royal family, particularly its female members, is a treasonous offense. only family members, attendants such as handmaidens, and body guards are allowed to touch amaya as the autumn king's wife. she has grown extremely uncomfortable with touch outside of these circumstances, which makes her return to prythian an adjustment in more ways than one. she sometimes stiffens before returning a hug, even from the ic, and is generally the first to pull her hand away from a handshake or move her body to avoid accidentally brushing against someone. it's a habit that slowly breaks as her healing journey in the night court continues.
einar sealed the marriage contract to amaya with a ruby wedding ring that she wears continuously on her left ring finger. the gem is slightly too big for her finger, because the autumn king cared more about the cost of the ring than its aesthetic, and its red color is representative of his court. the ring was charmed by a witch so amaya is unable to remove it so long as she remains married to einar and to send shots of pain through her body should she be unfaithful, a spell she has not discovered yet as she's never sought to break her marriage vows, which she considers as sacred as a night court bargain. she is only able to remove the ring when she is widowed upon einar's death.
when amaya was growing up, she favored low back shirts/dresses so she could easily call her wings and often dressed in night court colors. the blues, silvers, and purples worked wonders with her coloring and she was often radiant. after the plot, she is extremely self-conscious about her scars and adjusts her style of dress accordingly, taking to wearing high necked shirts/turtlenecks. her clothing is chosen for her by the autumn king in modest cuts and in the colors of his court (reds, oranges, blacks that usually wash her out). she will not readily show or talk about her scars to others.
einar did not see amaya's scars for a period of time after their wedding as she was never fully undressed in his presence, often still wearing her nightgown to bed as she feared what his reaction would be. when he finally did see them, she claimed they were from discipline inflicted by morven during her childhood, to which einar replied that discipline is often needed to ensure proper demeanor in a female.
amaya was a virgin upon her marriage, a fact that morven had court physicians attest to when the marriage contract to einar was signed (gross)
after einar abandoned bryce, amaya secretly kept in touch with ember to foster a relationship between bryce and ruhn. amaya believed their children should not have to suffer for einar's ego. she never blamed ember for the affair and she never held einar's sins against bryce. einar never found out about the correspondance.
amaya's magic is completely unique to her and is a manifestation of the night court's power to her outlook/personality. she is able to combine her daemati and shadow magic powers to create extremely convincing illusions/mental scenarios, a power that was exploited by morven to interrogate (torture) political dissidents. additionally, amaya figured out that shadows hold memory (think how water holds memory in frozen 2). she is not a shadowsinger and cannot understand the language of shadows, but she was able to use these "memories" to be able to somewhat teleport herself across distances (similar to winnowing but she doesn't have to have knowledge of the place in advance to use the power). for example, she can use shadows to walk through walls, though she's never been to the room on the other side. this "teleportation" power also allows her to make her body semi-corporeal, a skill that comes in handy when parrying a strike from an enemy.
when amaya uses her magic, her eyes go completely black, a remenant of ancient illyrian magic that has long since disappeared from the world but remains in the night court bloodline. she often carries sunglasses with her to be able to use her magic in public without her eyes giving her away.
i don't identify a mate for amaya purposely esp since she isn't canonically alive by the events of a.cotar and cc (and it gives me more options as a writer for plotting ships with parters), but einar certainly wasn't it. she is only his wife in name for legal purposes so there is no question their children are einar's heirs. she is not his mate, was not crowned queen, and is not treated as a consort.

I feel little confused now. Can someone explain this to me? Is the King Morven and the Stag King of Avallen one person?

Some questions about Crescent City that i can't find the answers. If someone remember something i might have missed, feel free to answer to this post.
Do the Starborn only have light powers ? Because there's this line in Hoaeb and Hosab about Helena that says she has both light and shadow powers :
“Night-haired Helena, from whose golden skin poured starlight and shadows."
There's an emphasis on the starlight powers in the books but wouldn't this line also indicate that the Starborn Fae also have shadow powers ?
Did Pelias and Helena's line continued only in the Valbaran Fae ? I mean except that one time where the Valbaran Fae line and Avallen Fae line crossed ? Do we know which of Cormac's parent ancestor have this 2 bloodlines ? It seems it is Cormac's father, King Morven (Bryce calls him "Uncle Morven"), but i'm not sure.
Also, Cormac says this when he was asked about his teleportation powers :
“Where did you inherit the ability from?”
Cormac squared his shoulders, every inch the proud prince as he said, “It was once a gift of the Starborn. It was the reason I became so … focused on attaining the Starsword. I thought my ability to teleport meant that the bloodline had resurfaced in me, as I’ve never met anyone else who can do it.” His eyes guttered as he added, “As you know, I was wrong. Some Starborn blood, apparently, but not enough to be worthy of the blade.”
He is part of the Starborn bloodline and his shadow powers are different from Ruhn's (whose powers come from the Avallen Fae line). Does this mean that Cormac's shadow powers come from the Starborn Fae line ?
Cormac's powers are really similar to Azriel's and people have already theorized even before Hosab came out that Azriel could be a descendant of the Dusk court. The Starborn Fae originated in Dusk's truth and if the theory that Theia's second daughter came back to Prythian to close the portals is right and that she continued Theia's line with the Illyrians, that would mean the Dusk court theory is true. Azriel also has the twin dagger of the Starsword. If the Starsword is charged by light, Truth-teller could be charged by shadows. And if the Starborn Fae have both light and Shadow powers, it would make sense that one of them was fulled by light and the other by shadows.
I've tried to make a descendants chart for Fionn and Queen Theia (i have included Azriel even though it's just a theory) but i feel like i'm forgetting something.
