Day 12: Black Cat🐈‍⬛

Captain Kuro x GN!Reader. Little bit of angst. Comfort. Fluff. Some kids being assholes. Old superstitions. Kuro steps in to teach some manners. Reader is a maid to Miss Kaya. You and Kuro have your own house though. SpookTober Prompt: Black Cat🐈‍⬛

☆●~Curbing Old Superstitions~●☆

You and Kuro were finishing up some last minute shopping when you happen upon a scrawny, black kitten. With everyone avoiding the poor thing, you and Kuro decide to take matters into you own hands.

You had finished up the last bit of shopping for Halloween with Kuro and were heading back home for some much deserved rest and some pumpkin pie and latte.

"I know you aren't fond of the girl, but it was generous of Miss Kaya to give us a holiday to celebrate Halloween together" You Remarked as you and Kuro walked through the street, arms linked together.

Kuro scoffed a bit but gave you a warm smile.

"I suppose I can't complain about her this time, it was generous of her" Agreed Kuro with a hint of reluctance but you smiled and leaned in close as you strolled by the docks. It was there you saw a little ball of fur walk around the sailors, fishermen and fishmongers.

It was a black kitten and judging by it's scrawny figure, it was starving.

"Kuro, look" You Pointed to the kitten. Kuro and you paused in your walking as you both looked at the kitten, meowing pitifully at anyone who would listen. It pawed at one sailor who looked down at it with suspicion.

"Oi shoo! Go on shoo!" Shooed the sailor, moving the kitten away with his foot as the other sailors shooed it off. The kitten looked so confused and frightened but ultimately ran off towards the fish stalls where the fishmongers's wives shouted their offers of freshly caught fish and prices to passers-by.

You watched with hope as the kitten tried to grab an oily sardine from the sardine section. He was so close, so close. Just a little more and.....

"Away with you thief! Go on get! Begone!" Shouted a fishmonger's wife as she shooed the poor kitten away with a broom. The kitten scampered off down an alleyway and your heart ached.

"Oh Kuro, why would they act so cruel? It's only a kitten!" You Asked sadly, hating to see people treat animals so harshly.

"It's a black cat. Some people still believe in the old superstitions of black cats being unlucky, being the familiars of witches and such. Same with black dogs and their association with devils. I of course find such prejudice behaviour towards animals because of such things utterly ridiculous" Explained Kuro, pushing his glasses up with the heel of his hand.

"But in some parts of the world, black cats and dogs are often considered lucky" You Recalled. Kuro nodded in agreement, then looked at the markets along the port with disdain.

"But apparently, these folks don't see it that way" Remarked Kuro. You pulled at Kuro's arm urgently.

"Come on! Let's find the kitten!" You Suggested. Kuro looked at you with a raised eyebrow.

"Aw come on, you've seen the poor thing. Don't tell me you didn't feel a twinge of heartache for the poor creature!" You Pleaded.

"I did feel sorry for the kitten, of course I would. Come, let's see where he scampered off to. From what I saw he went down that alleyway" Admitted Kuro and you both headed there.

Upon reaching the alleyway, you saw a group of 4 street kids, poking the kitten with sticks as the poor feline hissed and spat. The kids however just laughed.

"That thing's bad luck!" Cried one child.

"Yeah! Let's get rid of it!" Yelled another.

"Bad luck! Bad luck!" Shouted another child.

"Oh no you won't!" You Shouted and the kids turned to you in surprise.

"Leave that kitten alone right now!" You Demanded. The kids glared at you.

"Or what? You aren't our mother lady!" Shouted one child as he pointed his stick at you.

"Don't dare talk to me in that tone! I said leave that kitten alone and you'll do as I say!" You Shouted. Kuro watched as you stood your ground, feeling warm inside at you voiced your demand, sounding like a Captain of a ship.

Suddenly one child picked up a stone and threw it, hitting you square in the nose. You cried out as you clutched your nose, fresh blood gushing forth. The kids laughed and jeered at you as you stumbled a bit because of the pain and force of the stone hitting you. Tears sprung to your eyes as you leaned up against the wall.

Kuro's blood boiled at the sight of some street urchin throwing a stone at you. You, his beloved. This display of utter disrespect would not go unpunished. Kuro slipped his hands into the large, black furred gloves and unsheathed his claws.

When children saw you were injured, the child that threw the stone went to pick another. That was until a large shadow loomed over them and the children looked up, fear filling their eyes as Kuro stood there, claws out and ready, glaring menacingly at the group of children who froze in fear and the child dropped the stone.

"You nasty little street urchins DARE hurt my lady?!" Snarled Kuro, voice laced in venomous rage. The kids trembled as Kuro approached slowly, scraping the claws against the wall of the alleyway, creating an uneasy and frightening sound as the children slowly backed away.

"We.....we....we didn't mean to" Whimpered one child. Kuro sneered, not believing the child's words one bit.

"And you lie to my face? Such bad manners for a child, allow me to teach you all some manners!" Growled Kuro and the kids let out a scream at that as they were trapped in the alleyway. The only way to escape was going through Kuro.

"Please sir! Don't hurt us!" Cried another child. Kuro scoffed at them.

"Oh? But you'll only hurt another person or animal if I don't do teach you manners" Hissed Kuro. The kids trembled.

"We promise! We won't throw stones or be mean to animals! Just let us go please!" Cried the children. Kuro smirked at them cruelly.

"Good. Now get out of my sight!" Snarled Kuro and the children scrambled out of the alleyway, all tears and snots. Kuro removed his gloves and put them away before making his way over to you.

"My dear, are you alright?" Asked Kuro softly as he removed your hands from your nose, revealing the damage. Kuro's eyes widened at the blood from your nose as you sniffled.

"Oh my sweet pet" Cooed Kuro sadly before his eyes narrowed.

"I will mark those urchins's backs with my claws for hurting you" Vowed Kuro angrily. You held Kuro's hand and gave it a comforting squeeze.

"I'll be okay, honest" You Reassured him. Kuro smiled softly. Suddenly there was meow behind Kuro. You both turned to see the black kitten, mewing and pawing at Kuro, weakly. You and Kuro looked at each other and knew exactly what to do. Kuro helped you up and picked up the kitten in his arms.

"You are coming home with us" Declared Kuro as the kitten mewed softly.

You watched happily as the kitten lapped up the milk in the saucer eagerly.

"Poor thing, probably your first time tasting good milk" You Remarked sadly.

"But not anymore" Added Kuro who came in with a bowl of fresh diced up sardines. He placed it down and watched with a smile as the kitten dove right in.

"Bone free as well" Added Kuro and you smiled. Your injury was cleaned up and the bleeding had stopped. Kuro sat down next to you and you both sipped some latte, watching the kitten eat it's fill.

"What shall we name the kitten?" You Asked.

Kuro pursed his lips in thought.

"How about Sooty?" Asked Kuro.

"Sooty?" You Reapeated.

Kuro nodded and you smiled at him.

"Not bad. How about Moon?" You Asked.

"What about Willow?" Suggested Kuro.

"Gremlin?" You Suggested.

"Phantom?" Suggested Kuro.

"Binx!" You Suggested.

Both you and Kuro looked at each other.

"That, actually sounds like a good name" Remarked Kuro and you both smiled.

The kitten jumped up onto your lap, purring away. Happy he had a family to care for him.

"Welcome to the family Binx" You Said softly, petting the kitten's head. Binx purred more when Kuro stroked Binx's chin.

"A new member of the Black Cat Pirates" Declared Kuro smiling as you giggled while Binx mewed at you both.

Whumptober 2022 Day 31

A Light At The End of The Tunnel, Comfort, Bedside Vigil, "You Can Rest Now."

Kira sat waiting. Her eyes locked on Insanity. His hands quickly worked to try and pick the lock on his cuffs. One of her feathers blew toward him and he quickly went to work. Felix walked in and went straight up to Kira. "I think it's time we put you to good use." She whined as her voice, still gone. He snatched her neck with a control rod and pulled her out of the cage and onto the ground. She thrashed against the rod. Her head was inned firmly against the cold floor. Insanity watched the scene, his eyes glaring daggers at Felix. He quickly stopped picking the lock. "Luci asked me to draw some bone marrow from your wing," he quickly tied her ankles together. "So let's get this done, stupid angel." Kira cried and tried to stand. He grabbed her head and shoved it to the ground. "I didn't say you could get up now did I?" He pushed her head again to the floor. "Don't do anything stupid, you dumb angel." Insanity screamed under his gag as Kira sobbed. Felix pushed the pole against her neck as she flailed her wings. She pleaded but nothing came out. Felix grabbed the scalpel and placed it on her wing. Kira sobbed and watched the blade. Her eyes were full of tears. Felix pressed it into her skin when a buzz went off.

"Felix! There's been a security breach!"

"On my way Luci," he sprinted out into the Hall and left Kira on the ground. Kira moved her wing slightly to see the blade still lodged into her wing. She flinched as steps grew closer to the room. Kira whined and Insanity watched warily. Willy poked his head out from behind the door frame.

"What the hell? Insanity? How did you get here?" Kira cried out for him. He walked over to the angel and rubbed her head. "Hey Kira," she leaned into his touch. "Let's get you guys out of here."

Kuro's eyes fluttered open. "N... Nikko..." His hand tightened around hers.

"Hi baby," he leaned down and kissed her forehead. "I missed you."

"I missed you too. What have you been doing?"

"Stayed by you silly. I left only for the necessities. I stayed with you the entire time after surgery."

"You... you did?"

"Mmhm, I stayed by this bed waiting for this moment."

"Aw, thank you."

"I would do it all over again to see you again," He kissed her and squeezed her hand again. "I love you."

"I love you too."

Kiran stood a few leagues away from the shack. Fritz was inside with Nick. Insanity and Kiran waited outside for an opening. "Trust me," Insanity stopped his heart and rushed in, breaking a glass window, then looked for Nick. She nodded and followed behind, staying hidden. "Grab him and run!" Kiran nodded and snatched him up, she covered his mouth and ran outside. Insanity hopped out of the window and landed. Fritz moved and stabbed him through the throat. She turned to look and kept running, her wings pulling her and Nick into the air. Insanity grabbed the blade and forced it to stay in as he kicked Fritz away.

"Shithead," he dropped to his knees and landed face first. Kiran quickly launched a light spear knocking Fritz's sword away.

"Run!" His voice rasped. She nodded and fled back to the palace carrying Nick in her arms. Insanity died and Fritz picked the sword up. Insanity's form faded as it followed the archangel.

"Soon, you'll all perish..."

Kira stayed put as Gio sat away from her. They haven't seen anyone for a few days. She tried to stand but fell down again and stayed put. "Still trying to get up? Heh, it's useless." The angel kept her head low. "Will you leave me and never return if I get you out?"

"I don't know," she mumbled.

"If you don't say yes I'm going to do it anyway."

"Mm, I see," she didn't move and quietly stayed where she was. Gio got up and went to a chest. He hid in the corner. "What are you doing?"

"Getting you out of here." She perked her head up and watched. He grabbed the small device and put it on the rocks, then dragged Kira away. The angel kept her eyes on the rocks and Gio. He pressed a button and the rocks blew up making an opening. "There. A small opening," he threw the angel into the gap. "Glide to the outside!" He yelled. Kira faltered a bit before gliding out towards the light at the end of the tunnel.

Kira cried, tears staining her face. She tossed and turned, unable to wake up. Anna felt Kira's hand hit her shoulder and looked at her. "Babe?" Kira whined and clutched the sheets. She pushed Kira and rubbed her back. Kira gasped and looked around frantically, her tearful eyes locked on Anna. "Babe?" She sobbed and put her head on Anna's shoulder.

"I... I'm sorry..."

"What? What's wrong?"

"I... I had... a nightmare... I killed them... I killed everyone..." Her voice trembling.

"Awww, I'm sorry..." She grabbed her and held her close. "You're okay now."

"I'm sorry..." She clutched Anna's shirt.

"Don't be. It's okay," she kissed her head.

"I love you," she moved closer to Anna. The girl rubbed her head as laid back down in bed with the angel.

"It's okay, you can rest now."

(Note: This is hard to make sound decent in English. Mic is saying that Kurogiri is like their plunder or spoilers or stolen treasure that is the color black, which is a pun on the "kuro" (which means black) in Kurogiri's name. This pun will continue on the next page. The best corollary I could think of in English to keep up that pun is a stolen piece won in a chess game that is the color black.)

13 タルタロスの"奇跡"は忘れた方がいいーんだよ…！タルタロスの"きせき"はわすれたほうがいいーんだよ…！ TARUTAROSU no "kiseki" wa wasureta hou ga ii-inda yo...! "It's best that we forget about that miracle at Tartarus...!"

14 31だよ 31 da yo "We're 31." (Note: He means their ages.)

15 いつまでも雄英2年A組じゃねぇんだよ… いつまでもゆうえい2ねんエーぐみじゃねぇんだよ… itsu made mo yuuei 2nen EE-gumi ja neenda yo... "We haven't been Class 2-A students of UA for a long time..."

1 …でもこいつは ...demo koitsu wa "...But this guy"

2 雄英生のまま死んだゆうえいせいのまましんだ yuuei-sei no mama shinda "died as a UA student."

3 俺ガッおれガッ ore GA I

4 守…違う……シガラキ… まも…ちがう……シガラキ… mamo...chigau......SHIGARAKI... protect...no......Shigaraki...

5 何故俺たちをねじ切らなかった？なぜおれたちをねじきらなかった？ naze oretachi wo nejikiranakatta? "Why didn't he cut us off?" (Note: I think he's asking why didn't Kurogiri cut them in half like he planned to do to All Might at the USJ by "turning off the portal" while All Might was halfway through it.)

6 つき落とさなかった？つきおとさなかった？ tsukiotosanakatta? "Weren't we pushed off?" (Note: He's asking why didn't Kurogiri kill them when they had been pushed off the edge of the little island on UA.)

7 …う ...u "...U"

8 誰…ドコ… だれ…ドコ… dare...DOKO... Who...where...

9 …シ…友ダ…チ�� …シ…ともダ…チ… ...SHI...tomoDA...CHI... ...Shi-...frie...nd...

10 あの日俺たちはタルタロスで白の栓を引き抜いた… あのひおれたちはタルタロスでしろのせんをひきぬいた… ano hi oretachi wa TARUTAROSU de shiro no sen wo hikinuita... Literal. "That day, we pulled out the plug of white at Tartarus..." Contextual. "That day, we released a bit of a white stream inside him at Tartarus..." (Note: Like I said, this pun really does not work well in English lol. He's saying they unleashed a little stream of Shirakumo inside him that's trickling into the river that is Kurogiri. The use of the color white is a pun on the "Shira/Shiro" (which means white) in Shirakumo's name.)

11 そして混ざって壊れた…黒にどれだけ白をそそいでも真っ白にはならないそしてまざってこわれた…くろにどれだけしろをそそいでもまっしろにはならない soshite mazatte kowareta...kuro ni dore dake shiro wo sosoidemo masshiro ni wa naranai "Then it got mixed in, and he broke... No matter how much white you pour into black, it won't become pure white."

12 だが黒は逆で… だがくろはぎゃくで… daga kuro wa gyaku de... "But for black it's vice versa..."

13 だから再び動いただからふたたびうごいた dakara futatabi ugoita "That's why he moved again."

2 原点が��るのならげんてんがあるのなら genten ga aru no nara "so long as they have their origins." (Note: By origins, he means the word "origin" we've heard about a lot, especially in this arc, where one gains more strength by keeping their origin in their heart, etc.)

3 ャヤマ……ダ…… YA-YAMA......DA...... "Ya-Yama-......da......"

4 思い出が……… おもいでが……… omoide ga......... "The memories........."

1 消えてくれねえよ………！きえてくれねえよ………！ kiete kurenee yo.........! "won't disappear.........!" (Note: This is Mic referring back to his previous line where he asked for Shirakumo to remain a memory and disappear that way. He's saying Shirakumo is being stubborn and sticking around, basically.)

2 塚内さん‼︎ つかうちさん‼︎ Tsukauchi-san!! "Mr. Tsukauchi!!"

3 イレイザー！無事だったのか‼︎今までどこにイレイザー！ぶじだったのか‼︎いままでどこに IREIZAA! buji datta no ka!! ima made doko ni "Eraser! Are you all right!! Where have you been until now?"

4 物間は動けますか？ものまはうごけますか？ Monoma wa ugokemasu ka? "Can Monoma move?"

朝目が覚めていつもの様に部屋の窓のカーテンを開けると、窓ガラスの向こうに黒猫がいた。 ⁡ その黒猫は、ナデシコに似ていた。ナデシコは、僕が東京渋谷で約11年一緒に暮らした猫。 ⁡ ナデシコの後に出会ったのは、静岡時代のナデ。そしてクロは、今の母の家に戻ってから。 ⁡ 窓を開けると黒猫は逃げてしまうと思ったから急いで母を呼んで黒猫を見せた。2人で縁の不思議を話していたら黒猫は、どこかに行ってしまった。 ⁡ また、来るがいい。目が可愛い。 ⁡ When I woke up in the morning and opened the curtains of my room window as usual, I saw a black cat behind the windowpane. ⁡ The black cat looked like Nadeshiko. Nadeshiko is a cat I lived with for about 11 years in Shibuya, Tokyo. ⁡ After Nadeshiko, I met Nade from my Shizuoka days. And Kuro was after I moved back to my mum’s house where I live now. ⁡ I knew that if I opened the window, the black cat would run away, so I hurriedly called my mother and showed her Kuro, and while we were both talking about the wonders of fate, Kuro went away. ⁡ Come back again. 'Youtiful' was the first song Aiko wrote for an album, rather than writing half or writing something for her self, 'Youtiful' was fully written by her for the album.

This era was the first time Aiko had fully dyed her hair instead of the ends of it. She dyed it fully black for a short while with the ends fading from dark blue to light blue, though she quickly changed it back to her original color since she said it looked wrong.

During the Fanmeet, when the SKZOO's had come out on stage, Aiko jumped into KURO's arms and they spun around together.

At the same event, a really cute interaction happened when JINIRET tapped Hyunjin's shoulder and pointed to KURO, making a heart shape, telling Hyuh that he had a crush on KURO. Hyun brought JINIRET over to KURO and encouraged him to confess, to which she got shy and looked to Aiko and she said to say yes. When KURO made a heart shape to JINIRET, Hyun and Ai jumped up and down together like girls who saw their best friend get a partner.

☆●~Glimpse Into The Future~●☆

Captain Kuro meets with a fortune teller to determine what the future holds for the feared Black Cat Pirates Captain. You happily oblige and with your crystal ball, you reveal Captain Kuro's future.

It was a dark stormy October night. And Captain Kuro, feared pirate captain of the ruthless Black Cat Pirates, was making his way towards a strange shop just outside the town.

Walking inside, he was greeted by the smell of burning incense and the sight of soft glowing candles. He passed by a wind-chime, making it tinkle and ring out. He entered through a beaded curtain and into a room where you sat by a clothed table, a large crystal ball in the center of it.

"Ah, Captain Kuro! I've been expecting your arrival. The high winds of the sea and the spirits told me of your ship and that it was heading for the town and that I was expecting a visit from the feared captain himself" You Spoke, without glancing up at the captain who stood there, raising a skeptical eyebrow at you and the words you spoke.

"Is that so?" Remarked Kuro with a smirk. You looked up and met his eyes.

"Do you doubt me, Captain Kuro?" You Asked in dreamy like voice, almost as if you were in a trance. Captain Kuro came closer to you and your table.

"I did not say I doubt you, Madame Y/N. Mistress of mystic and knower of all things dark and mysterious" Captain Kuro Replied as he took a seat across the table from you.

"I came here to see if what I've heard about you is true. That you, with that ball of yours can really see and tell of the future and see into the souls of all who enter your humble abode" Explained Kuro. You nod slowly.

"I indeed, can see into one's soul and tell of the future with my crystal ball. So you wish me to do a reading of you, Captain Kuro?" You Asked.

"Yes. Tell me what lies in my future plans Madame Y/N" Smirked Kuro.

"Very well. Give me your palm, the energy I draw from you will help me in the reading" You Replied and Kuro stretched his hand out to you, opening his hand.

You grabbed his hand and with one, delicate finger you traced a symbol of sorts into the palm of his hand and with that, you closed your eyes and murmured something in an unknown language before opening your eyes and letting go of Kuro's hand.

"We may begin" You Spoke.

Upon saying that, you moved your hands around the crystal ball and as you did so, the crystal ball began to glow brighter and brighter. Kuro watched, impressed.

When the crystal ball glowed a little more brighter, you leaned forward and peered into the ball. Kuro leaned in close, hoping to see what you must be seeing.

In your dreamy, trance like voice, you began to read into Kuro's soul and see what it is that lies in the future of Captain Kuro.

"You have grown tired as of late, of constantly being hunted by the Marines due to the life of piracy you choose. So weary have you grown of countless battles with Marines and bounty hunters alike that you have began to think up a storm. A storm in which will be your ultimate plan, a grand scheme. Already the cogs in your head are turning" You Explained softly.

Kuro's eyes widened and his heart stopped. You continued with the reading.

"You're plan will work. You will escape from the ever hunting Marines and you will be a free man" You Spoke softly.

"Beyond the sea, lies a village and I see you arriving there. You will be tired and without a home. But what is this? I see a family, of wealth take you in. There is a girl, young and naive. A tragedy will befall her, leaving you as her sole guardian" You Explained further, making Kuro look with confusion.

"But a darkness still resides in you and you will plot a terrible, terrible tragedy, involving the girl and should it succeed, you will live out the rest of your life, free and wealthy" You Stated and you saw a dark smile grace Kuro's lips.

"Marvelous! So, my plan will succeed" Kuro Smirked proudly and you felt a shiver go through you. Suddenly, there was more lights inside the crystal ball that caught your attention.

Leaning forward, you peered further into the ball and you murmured something. The lights grew bright at that and Kuro was intrigued.

"What is it? What do you see?" Demanded Kuro sternly. You looked up to meet Kuro's eyes and you spoke of what you saw within the crystal ball.

"But alas, I see a young man with a crew of his own who will arrive at the village and encounter the girl. A friendship is formed and your plans will be discovered and you will ultimately fail" You Stated.

Kuro's eyes narrowed at your statement.

"You lie" Hissed Kuro, his voice low.

"I do not. It is what the ball has shown me" You Replied.

A fog covered the ball and it stopped glowing. The reading was over.

"The vision is gone, our reading is over Captain" You Spoke.

Kuro stood up suddenly, throwing a bag of coins on the table and turning towards the door.

"Take heed of what I have said Captain" You Called. Kuro turned to you and snarled.

"No one interferes with my plans! No one! My plan will succeed, you'll see" Replied Kuro with a snarl and with that, he stormed off into the night.

You sat, a strange smile on your face.

"But you can't fight fate, for when it is written, it can not be undone" You Stated softly, as the wind howled outside.
