#last night and I'm probably being way too critical but I'm also like 'this is too self-indulgent. no one would even want to read this.' lma

I feel accomplished because this week while I was at work during my free period, I wrote apparently about three pages worth of dialogue that I'd left in my WIP as "[insert more dialogue here later]" and I was able to tie it in to the rest of it (as in, what I'd already written after the "[insert more dialogue here"]), and while there are still places in my WIP where I was like "[add something else specific here?]" it means I'm done with that first...whatever it is, of my current WIP. (I still haven't decided if I'm writing just, like, individual parts of this WIP, or if they're chapters, or what. Most of them are super fucking long so I have NO IDEA what to call them. To call them chapters doesn't seem accurate given how long they are, so...parts?! I GUESS?! I'm not writing a novel, but I've also never written a novel before anyway and it shows.)

Savanna Squad Presentation Night Headcanons/mini fic [1/3]
splitting this into three headcanon parts because my god its long
eat up :]
Part 1: Taylor & Logan Part 2: Ben & Tyler Part 3: Aiden & Ashlyn [WIP]
Ashlyn's POV
So the question is: How did we get here? Simple answer really. Taylor. She was always the one to suggest these kinds of things, team building hang outs, though last time it was just us.
The rest of the boys had plans. Tyler had practice to attend, one of the late kinds, Ben and Logan had a project together due for bio in a day or two, and Aiden, for some reason, had a late dentist appointment (much to his dismay). Only Taylor could make it to the graveyard early. Initially, we were just meant to manage our resources, which was manageable with one person, but it was always easier with other people to bounce ideas off of. That's all it was meant to be, but Taylor had other ideas.
"Girls night!!" She had cheered, and we just hung out.
And I had fun.
But as Logan fights with his laptop to mirror on the T.V for the presenters, that being us, I can't help but feel like I'm going to regret this one. Especially with Tweedledee and Tweedledum in the background yelling about something that I don't want to know about, but will probably learn against my will.
Just as Taylor and Ben come downstairs with blankets and pillows, Logan's T.V finally projects the wallpaper of his laptop.
"It's set up, thank god," he sighs, with that last part being under his breathe. And as we set up in his living room, Ben dragging Aiden and Tyler from the kitchen, both with bags of snacks in their arms, and Taylor handing out blankets, we finally sit in our places.
The next question, however, is Who goes first?
Taylor Hernandez
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Taylor goes first because she's the one who planned it and was the most excited about it. Aiden tried to go first, but it was collectively agreed that he would be going last for no reason other than to piss him off lmao
Anyways, we love a STEM girl (be still my own heart) so her presentation would be all about her tools and work for the mechanics club. She takes this club seriously, not only because it's good for networking, but because she genuinely finds it fun. I like to think that there are two levels to the club where one is just a standard club and the second level is a competition team, and she was shooting to be a part of the competition league (totally not projecting because I'm a robotics kid)
Her presentation is so well done. It's not only really well organized, but it is just so pretty. It's the type of presentation that teachers would drool over. Avid Canva user b/c it has a lot of customization options that she loves.
What's a toolbox tour without the actual toolbox that's just as decorated as her slideshow. And she takes care of it, too.
Her presentation is so fun and sets a fun tune for the night, and she manages to make this topic really engaging. She would have a little quiz at the end, too, where if one of the group gets a question correct, they get a piece of candy
shows off tools like she's filming a makeup tutorial, I saw this on tumblr, and it's just canon at this point. No criticisms are accepted because it just isn't possible.
Group's reaction
Ashlyn and Ben are the ones who pay the most attention to the presentation. Ashlyn also gets the most questions right at the end of the quiz.
Logan asks the most questions in between slides, but not in an annoying way. He does get a bit lost, though, considering just how many tools there are.
Tyler and Aiden are still bickering a bit. Aiden can't sit still for the life of himself, but he swears that he is listening. Tyler would say otherwise.
Aiden is, though, and he ends up getting Taylor a really nice tool set that she mentioned she wanted when presenting just because he can. He is her favorite for a few days. He absolutely would have a shit eating grin looking at Tyler to just say, "See, I was listening :D". Tyler would then say that he could go fuck himself /hj
Logan Fields
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Logan is next. The laptop hates him, and it's old and shuts down multiple times in his presentation. The group then had to watch this man fight with a busted 4-year-old laptop and lose several times. Have you ever seen your parents fight with a printer the night before you have a school project due? It's like that, and the rest are concerned.
He is an astrology bitch, and I will take no criticisms. But like, not in the way that it controls his life, he would not be caught dead saying that the stars told him to do something, like not let him eat alfredo on Sunday or something like that. He's more interested in the concept itself since the idea of zodiacs have existed for so long. Its his comfort research topic.
Absolutely went HAM on researching each and every one of their birth charts. Ask him to show you his notes, and he would not show you. Why??? because he took up an entire notepad (it's one of the smaller ones but still).
"Logan's so innocent" "Logan's so sweet" "My boy can do no wro-" NO!!!! THAT MOTHERFUCKER WILL READ YOU TO FILTH AND I STAND BY THIS. ITS LIKE HE LOOKED YOUR SOUL, UP AND DOWN, AND EXPOSED IT FOR THE WORLD TO SEE (something tells me Tyler gets it the worse. idk why it just feels right)!!! If he feels like something doesn't fit one of the people in the group he is clear about it
"Here is Gemini, a social butterfly. Here is Ashlyn. A Gemini. I love Ashlyn, but like a year ago I have actually seen you jump a fence to avoid a group of people who go to our high school without thinking, and I would say that needs an intervention but you'd also avoid it by jumping a fence." "..."
The presentation itself is long as hell. Like he goes in depth about everything that he talks about, and if you interrupt him, he will shoot you with a spray bottle. Did I mention there's a group spray bottle? Guess why they have one.
Somehow, he is still only the second longest presentation.
Group's Reaction
Taylor is his biggest hypeman. I feel like she'd also enjoy astrology a bit, too, though she's more of a casual fan. She is also one of the few people who is free from Logan's jabs.
Ben is also free from his jabs because he helped him with the laptop, which, thank god, because Logan was about to lose it. I don't think he really believes in astrology. The most he knows is his sun sign on the surface level. He is invested, though.
Don't think Ash is very interested in astrology either, and at some points in his presentation, he just loses her attention.
Tyler gets sprayed at least twice with the spray bottle because he gets defensive. Surprisingly, I do think he would be somewhat interested and knowledgeable about his star signs at least, mainly because he had to deal with Taylor when she went through an astrology phase (let me tell you it was brutal).
Aiden is also interested and engaged in the presentation, but maybe a little too much. What I mean is that he interrupts at points and is the reason why the spray bottle exists. Logan is flattered, but istg Aiden if you interrupt this man one more time...
By the end of the two presentations, the group is in pretty high spirits and having a good time, despite the fact that two of them are a bit wet.
Logan's laptop, however, is not, and just as they were setting up Ben's powerpoint, it decides that it was a good time to perform a mandatory update and restarts.
Absolute silence.
You could hear a pin drop.
And all eyes go to Logan.
"..."
"..."
"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!"
Long story short, the presentations have to be postponed for around an hour and forty-eight minutes (maybe you never know with computers), and Logan is taking a walk.

Frank is Pisces
I made a thread for this theory on TSBS Discord server and it blew up (it blew up so much more than I ever thought it would, like Jesus Christ. I'm super happy about it though). I figured that since I moved all my canon info stuff over here from the server, I might as well move my theory stuff over too
Long post warning, since there's a lot here. A lot of this exists because I was possessed by my adhd demon one night, noticed something about Frank, and then ran wild with it
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Last two pictures are part of a chart that SqarletGecko made for this theory. If Sqarlet sees this at any point, hi, hello! I appreciate you for feeding into this, Sqarlet)
There will be more images tacked on later. I'd add them now, but unfortunately, there's a 10 picture limit to posts. As stupid as that is. ANYWAY
Frank’s strong enough to kill two different witherstorms. Although him outright killing them was never verified, it was one of the only ways he could’ve come back so soon. The only other way would’ve been to wait by the portal, but assuming Moon would’ve closed it off due to the dimensions that Frank was in housing witherstorms, Frank would’ve had to find another way out
His name is neither Frank nor Forkface, so it’s entirely possible that it could be Pisces
Sqarlet pointed out that Castor said “Pisces is probably off doing his own thing”, which could be anything, and it certainly doesn’t preclude Pisces being on earth as Frank, doing whatever he’s been doing
In the “Lunar Gets Friendzoned” vrchat episode, Castor mentions Pisces again, this time saying (in reference to how Lunar’s “final test” would go, and how someone would be sent to judge his ability to control his powers) “Could be Nebula, could be Libra. Could be Pisces, but I doubt that. Hell, it could even be Taurus.” This is the second time Castor’s mentioned Pisces, as if he doesn’t have a whopping 10 other signs he could pull names from (minus Gemini and Pisces, obviously). This could be a case of simply sticking to a smaller pool out of the 12 names, but still
Castor has mentioned Pisces offhandedly two different times. Yeah, there could be a really simple explanation for that, but it sticks out to me, and I can't pinpoint why
During an Uno video, they did a “one breath for yes, two for no” thing with Frank, and he confirmed that he had a bad past. Given some of the things that Castor has said about Taurus, it’s a possibility that Frank/Pisces was trying to get away from him. Some other Pisces traits are that they’re supposed to be super empathetic and deeply emotional. If Taurus said or did something that impacted Frank/Pisces enough, he could’ve chosen to leave
For a while, Frank didn’t seem to react much when people acted scared of him, but as he’s spent more time with the channels, he’s developing more emotionally, which would make sense if he was younger. According to a google search I ran, “Pisces emotional sensitivity is high, helping them to remain in tune with others also leaving them vulnerable to criticism, worrying about about the effects that their actions might have on others,” which could explain why he acted so sad when he briefly appeared in the lobby in an FFFS episode and everyone acted scared of him
Pisces has a heightened emotional sensitivity, they're very in tune with the emotions of those around them, and this in turn makes them worry about how others might react to them
In another Uno video, Foxy made a lighthearted comment to Frank about how he reminded him of his son, since he has a habit of inserting himself into situations and things. There are other characters who do this too, meaning that Foxy could’ve compared Frank to literally anyone, and yet, he chose a character that’s a child. If Frank is Pisces, he’d be the youngest of the astral bodies
Tumblr media
If you watch him, Frank does have some childlike mannerisms and behaviors. The first thing is the way he sometimes wants to show someone something, but then gets upset when they touch it. It’s like when a kid gets a new toy and shows their friend, but then gets upset when their friends tries playing with it because it’s theirs. The second thing is him apparently drawing on the wall underneath Earth’s bed. Drawing on walls is something that kids do. The third thing is him trying to feed Earth a piece of pizza. Kids will sometimes try to feed people too, though it’s typically only with people they’re close with, that they know pretty well
If Frank is Pisces and therefore the youngest of the astral bodies, there’s a chance that he chose to show up in the daycare because he knows it’s a safe place for kids, and that there are good caretakers there (Sun, Moon, Earth, and Lunar). He could’ve chosen a daycare attendant-esque form to blend in better with the daycare environment, or he could’ve copied what he saw of the caretakers there, much like how kids copy the adults they see
Pisces is the youngest of the astral bodies, so everything that Frank does that seems like something a kid might do,, could sort of tie in with that. Frank has seemed to somewhat mature and "grow up" in a sense as of recently though, so these childlike habits and behaviors have begun to become rarer and rarer
Pisces has ties to illusions, dreams, and the subconscious. This could explain the times when Frank appeared in both Monty and Earth’s dreams, and then dragged the Stitchwraith into his own mind. In the case of Monty’s dream, Frank knew that they’d had problems with their dad and he’d even offered to be their listening ear, so seeing the shape Monty was in emotionally and mentally after their dad died, Frank may have guided them to an image of their dad to try to promote a form of closure and emotional healing and recovery before Monty woke up (did I mention that being a healer is also a Pisces trait?). He was silent in the dream, so Monty’s mind couldn't have heard his signature heavy breathing and did something funky with that. In Earth’s case, Frank somehow knew that she was having a nightmare and he came to wake her up, repeatedly saying “no fear”, as if he was telling her not to be afraid. With the Stitchwraith, the Stitchwraith wasn’t aware that he’d been pulled into his own mind. Frank didn’t confirm that he was until he told the Stitchwraith that “It’s just a bad dream, a nightmare”, and told him to wake up
More Pisces traits are wanting to help people and being a healer. Adding in the ties to illusions, dreams, and the subconscious, I feel like creating dreams to help people recover from things wouldn't be too farfetched. In the case of Earth, Frank knew she was having a nightmare and wanted to wake her up so that she wouldn't be scared anymore. To this day, I have no way to explain how he could've possibly known about her having a nightmare, aside from sensing her distress and/or having some kind of connection to her subconscious
I found a snippet of an article that said “When we meet Pisces, we are taken aback by their remote coldness; they often act like confused geniuses or oddballs who have trouble interacting with others.” It’s confirmed that Frank is highly intelligent; he somehow knew how to get into Moon’s computer and registered himself as the primary user, and he somehow swiped Foxy’s voicebox and installed it in himself, then took it back out and reinstalled it in Foxy. Frank is also an oddball, but I don’t really need to explain that one
Frank has made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t like Ruin. He’s had many opportunities to take him out or even just attack him, but he hasn’t. Castor has stated that astral bodies typically don’t get involved with things or associate with people unless they really need to. If Frank is Pisces, he may have avoided going after Ruin because it’d go against the rules
There are some mixed messages on whether or not Pisces is a rule follower, but a couple things I found that stuck out to me implied that sometimes they follow the rules, and sometimes they do whatever they want as long as they’re satisfied. We were given a glimpse of this with Frank when Lunar tried to run him over with a car in a vrchat episode. Frank didn’t seem to care as much about the fact that he was nearly run over, and instead, became agitated with Lunar for parking incorrectly. He also made Lunar get in his car, and then proceeded to move it out of the alley and to the drive thru, where Lunar was supposed to be anyways. He might’ve also reacted poorly to Monty and Earth bringing a goose into the restaurant they were in, since animals don’t belong there. Beyond that, Frank’s also gotten upset with Sun and tried to menacingly follow him around the room when Sun cheated during a game of Uno, showing that he doesn’t like cheaters
Frank seems to have a knack for interrupting people’s dates. Most of the time, he’s trying to help but doesn’t seem to grasp that his behavior might be making people uncomfortable, BUT according to google, the Pisces sign is known for being jealous of other people’s love lives. After the death of Ruined Monty, Frank may have started to feel a little jealous of others
Tumblr media
According to google, “most Pisceans are very good at earning a stable living,” and “they are usually very effective in any career that needs collaboration with others or inventiveness.” It’s been stated before that Frank works in at least three different restaurants, and a restaurant type environment would require collaboration with others to keep everything running smoothly. He’d be earning good money from those three restaurant jobs, and another Pisces trait is wanting to help people, so working in a restaurant would be a way for him to do that
Strengths of Pisces would include being selfless and thoughtful, passionate and creative, gratitude and self-sacrifice, tolerance and a keen understanding, and being kind and sympathetic. Weaknesses of Pisces include being influenced by their surroundings, being careless, rash, and ill-disciplined, having an inability to confront reality due to an absence of confidence, being insecure, sentimentalism, indecisiveness, and a lack of foresight. These are all from a chart I found, and although I don’t think we’ve seen too many of these weaknesses in Frank yet, we’ve definitely seen a lot of the strengths
We have no idea where Frank was before he first showed up at the daycare. Fazbear apparently had him shipped in to replace Moon, but with how easily he got into Moon’s computer, it wouldn’t be too farfetched to assume that he could’ve possibly also hopped onto a different device and sent a fake email, posing as Fazbears to keep people from asking too many questions about why he’s there
Like Sqarlet has said, we’ve noticed a pattern of astral signs following the usual astrological descriptions, but it’s not necessarily a rule, nor is it to a T. It’s very possible that Frank mostly follows the general tendencies of Pisces, but still has individual quirks and such that are different. It could be a case where perfectionism or a preference for rule-following/organization is just a lil personal thing of his, unrelated to astrology
Another thing suggested by Sqarlet is that the Pisces dealio might explain why Frank’s general choice of appearance is generally uncanny/unsettling. Astral bodies don’t necessarily have a spectacular grasp on how to Aesthetic effectively, at least from an earthling’s perspective
Eclipse once used star power to get into Puppet’s dreamscape, when Puppet was on his way to get Lunar. If star power is what makes dreamscape stuff possible, then Frank would need access to it in order to do the same (see: all the dream stuff he did with Monty and him showing up in Stitchwraith’s dreamscape)
Whenever Frank appears, whoever he appears around is usually experiencing a negative emotion of some sort. Some instances of this can be seen when he showed up and tried to talk to Monty after Monty had a fight with their dad and was frustrated, when Earth and Sun were worrying about Lunar when Lunar lost his voice, when Sun got turned into a dragon and was panicking, and when Earth had a nightmare and was freaking out over it
Foxy’s implied that Frank was probably trying his best to be helpful, during all the dates that he unintentionally ruined. Which… means that although Frank is trying his best to be helpful, he might not understand what “normal” behavior looks like, then he messes up, and then he gets upset when people misunderstand him and his intentions, or when whatever he’s doing ends up backfiring in some way. Pisces’ loves to help others and can’t stand being misunderstood, so this lines up beautifully
During a podcast episode, Frank breathed heavier when Castor and Pollux were mentioned, implying that he may know them. Given how he even attempted to speak again, he likely had some kind of thoughts or feelings toward them, too
The astral bodies are typically aware of almost everything that happens. This might explain how Frank (if he’s Pisces) knew that Foxy would be alone on Christmas. It was only Foxy, Freddy, and Francine present when the Stitchwraith took FC, so unless Frank was spying on everyone or has taken to watching the channels like Ruin apparently does, he shouldn’t know what happened
If the Foxy’s Intervention episode is anything to go by, no one ever knows where Frank is, and yet, he still knows where he’s needed and goes there to help
With the way that Pisces deals with illusions just as much as dreams and the subconscious, it’s possible that the Frank that the Stitchwaith saw was just an illusion. This could explain why Frank wasn’t hit by Stitchwraith’s weird chest laser thing (unless he quickly teleported out of the way), and why we never saw him go up to the Stithwraith and try pushing him around or anything, despite how Frank was acting toward him. We’ve seen Frank physically interact with people before, so we know he can, but if he was an illusion, that wouldn’t be possible
Something else to consider that I haven't shared with the theory thread yet (that I can remember) is that when Pisces feels hurt or betrayed in any way, they can be incredibly vengeful. Their vengeance, according to a search I ran, could be intense enough to break trust and damage relationships, if they're not careful. In killing ruined Monty, Bloodmoon may have unknowingly made Frank feel so deeply hurt that Frank has now decided that he needs to get revenge on him. He kept saying things during their encounter that made it feel like he may be entertaining the idea of getting rid of one of the twins, which... follows a very "you took away someone who meant the world to me, let's see what happens when I do it to you" sort of logic

everything is lit, except my serotonin
"what a time to be alive" is probably one of my favorite songs on the new record. that's not really a hard sell, though; i struggle to pick favorites at the best of times and by this time tomorrow, my favorite track will likely be a different one. but there's something about this track that i keep circling back to, for a multitude of reasons.
this one has proven a little contentious. critics don't quite get it, and even people who love the song will say that it's a little off-putting lyrically, primarily because of those lines in the chorus: "everything is lit, except my serotonin / everything is lit but my lightning-bolt brain". i'm not going to say outright that critics scoffing at the obvious earth, wind, and fire influence is one of those delightful instances of antiblack racism that's so common in music criticism, but i'd be lying if i said i didn't suspect that was a factor. but more to the point, that line in the chorus hit me a little harder than i expected it to.
patrick has stressed repeatedly that the majority of "what a time to be alive" was written before the pandemic. the lyrics to the bridge are the only parts that reference the pandemic specifically, but the rest of the song feels oddly prescient as it discusses how it feels like the end of the world...probably because in 2019, for some of us, especially those on the west coast, it did feel like the end of the world. pete wentz lives in los angeles, and thus probably got a very clear picture of this as it happened in real time. wildfires have always been an issue on the west coast, but by 2017, they started picking up in speed and scope, in large part due to the effects of climate change. the year after that, they got worse. the third year in a row this happened, it cemented that this was going to be a pattern, which is exactly what happened. today, the last third or so of the year is generally regarded as "fire season," when risk of wildfires becomes extremely high, power outages are common, and evacuations are anticipated.
i live in a fire zone. every year since 2017, i've had to evacuate my home regularly, or i know someone else who has. at this point, it's pretty well-established as routine. the first time this happened, it felt like the end of the world - watching neighbors' houses go up in smoke, housing displaced family members or friends who'd been evacuated themselves or actually lost their homes. by the time the pandemic happened, fire season hadn't actually died, either; we were carrying out evacuations while masked, and often without power (and thus no easy way to get news as to what was happening).
here's a thing about living in a fire zone. there are nights when you're going off no sleep and you're watching the ember-glow on the horizon at the early hours of the morning and thinking that it could almost be considered pretty, in a dark and dismal kind of way. there are days when the smoke haze is so heavy that you never get to see the sun but it makes the air hot and thick and it burns in your lungs. the smell of smoke becomes choking and omnipresent.
everything is lit, except my serotonin. everything is lit but my lightning-bolt brain.
i don't know if these lines were written about the wildfires in particular. it wouldn't surprise me if they were. there are a lot of moments in the song, the parts written pre-pandemic, that make me think that could've been the case: neon in the night-time and not caring if it's pretty because the view's so pretty from the deck of a sinking ship. livestreaming the apocalypse, because twitter feeds were literally the best way to get your news on whether your house might be next - if you had power and internet, that is. and not everyone did.
everything is lit but my lightning-bolt brain. it's kind of a silly line, and i understand being put off by it. it took me some time to warm to it too (pun absolutely intended). it's also a quadruple-entendre. everything is "lit" in the colloquial sense of being cool and exciting, sure, but it's also more or less how the human brain works. our brains are really just electricity, passing little bursts between all the neurons and synapses. on top of that, the sensation of feeling like electric shocks are passing through your skull, or "brain zaps," are a common symptom of withdrawal from antidepressants (which, among other things, are used to regulate someone's serotonin levels). and then there's the case of the world being on fire, literally. everything is lit except my serotonin. my lightning-bolt brain.
a memory:
i never actually stopped working through the pandemic, as i was considered an essential worker. the fires didn't let up either. a particularly horrible fire tore through a nearby area and that's the thing about fires: they turn the whole fucking sky vivid orange. i drove to work on a chilly autumn morning, the whole sky lit up in an orange glare. i stood for a minute in the freezing parking lot while flakes of ash overhead settled like snow onto my car, my hair, my clothes. somewhere, people's homes and livelihoods were burning, and in a matter of days or hours the wind could change and my home and friends could be next. so i walked through the falling ash and the sickly orange glow of the sky and did my temperature check at the door with my mask pulled up over the lower half of my face, and i got to work.
i remember that moment vividly because it was strange and surreal and eerie and it was probably the moment that felt most like the end of the world to me, or at least it did then. driving through town with the sky on fire and a disease tearing through the world and having to walk into work anyway. that's what this track reminds me of: the sheer, staggering surreality of watching everything fall apart, and then...you go to work, because what else are you supposed to do? you go to work. the world is ending. you go to work.
what a time to be alive.

hi cami! hope youre doing well! id like to ask.. have you seen that pokemon zensho is now fully available in english? i only found out recently lol. you can find it at mangadex! if you have, what are your thoughts on it?
Hi there @soulsilvers I'm doing well thank you for asking! Yeah, I actually didn't know that they full translated Pokemon Zensho until I got this ask, so thank you for alerting me to this I appreciate it! So of course I had to read it all last night! Link here for anyone who wants to read it! It was so cute honestly. First Pokemon Concierge, now Pokemon Zensho making me cry and I'm here for it honestly. Like you said on discord, it definitely is very rushed at only 9 chapters. I definitely would've loved to see it have a few more chapters to explore more about Red and Blue's friendship (well here called Ash and Gary) and going through the league (I always feel like the elite four part of the Kanto story always seems to get the short end of the stick). Despite it's rushed nature, it does make up for it in being the most true-to-gameverse adaptation. But what I appreciated the most was the details that were added were very grounded. Like the problems the gym leaders were facing felt real. It was cool to see how Giovanni became the way he was because it has been hinted at that he's not always been the ruthless Team Rocket boss but something made him that way. I've grown to like Lt. Surge a lot over the years and I feel like his arc was really wholesome too. Many people criticize Kanto for it not being particularly story driven (which to each their own, some people like story drive gameplay some don't, groups are valid), but to say it's completely devoid of story is false. The theme of Gen 1 besides exploration is relationships. It's why the key driver is the rivalry (and strained friendship) between Red and Blue. The orphan Cubone, Agatha and Oak, even Mewtwo's existence plays on the concept of relations in a subtle way. Zensho takes this concept and runs with it throughout as Red travels through Kanto. Much like Pokespe, Pokemon Zensho does a good job at bringing smaller but notable NPCs into the fold and it was done in a way that was not overbearing (looking at Marvin from SwSh Pokespe taking Hop's spot). It was cool to see the SS Anne captain and Game Warden get some more screentime. Also props for this manga low key making non-binary Bill canon! I know some people who read it may not like this version of Red not being "badass" in that he does earn some of his badges without actually defeating the leaders but I think the way it's handled here was okay. I think part of Red's character is supposed to be how he puts caring for others first despite being so talented at battling and I think it's okay that there are adaptations that don't just fall into him being a legendary battler who sweeps everyone. Even though this is a retelling of Red's story I would say if I'm honest this was really Blue's story. Blue got a lot of focus in this manga and outside of Pokemon Generations we don't really get to see into Blue's mindset. I appreciated as you mentioned on discord, how despite everything it did still focus on the fact that Blue was still Red's friend despite everything. It's not something that's focused on a lot in gen 1 adaptations. And of course the rest of the Oak family gets some shine too. This is probably my favorite portrayal of Oak in that it retains some of his flaws but humanizes him too (although I wish they had devoted some time to his and Agatha's rivalry). And Daisy...even with her limited screen time very much still shone especially with her calling out Professor Oak for his harsh words towards Blue. And then of course the revelation of what happened to Blue and Daisy's parents. Give those kids (and this Professor Oak) a hug. This is definitely my favorite of the four Pokemon manga I've read thus far and if we ever got a short miniseries for the Gen 1 games again I would hope it would take more of the Zensho approach and be game accurate while still expanding on little lore details.

I was reading the post that talked about the “friendship” between Marcela and Patricia and I had to come and give my opinion:
Ok, they can be toxic together, there may be interest (at least on one side), but… I honestly think Patricia is good for Marcela. She is the only “friend” of hers that we are shown, Hugo is also her friend, but not as much as Patricia and she (Marcela) does not share many things with him, like when she commented to Patricia that Betty was Armando's lover (I don't remember if she told Hugo, but I think it would be very understandable if SHE only talked about it with Patricia). And it may not have been shown or talked about, but I think they have a lot of adventures together, and I can really see them doing the cliché friend things together (painting each other's nails, girl’s night, watching cliché movies and so on), but it was mentioned that they watched competitions together so they could criticize the models, right?
I don't remember if they mention when they met, but for me, it was probably when they were teenagers, so it's quite common that Patricia was one of Marcela's only (if not the only) friends, and an important part of her life because I don't see Marcela as being a very sociable person or anything like that. And as it suggests that Patricia comes from a rich family, I don't see this friendship starting with interest, if we are going to follow this theory of when they met.
Anyway, I see their dynamics working a lot, but not so often in front of the cameras (do you understand me?) so let's believe that in Patricia's way, she has her way of showing affection for Marcela (because I feel that way). In fact, the spy chapter on Betty's birthday is EVERYTHING in their dynamics, I love them and their scenes 🥹. (Patricia helping Marcela find out things about Armando and spying on him with her, is her love language for Marcela 💋)
Sorry if there are any mistakes, I'm using Google Translate. 😬
Hiii, don't worry, it was all good🥰
I'm not fully sure how exactly I phrased my last post about the topic, but I didn't mean to impky exactly that Patricia only uses Marcela. Patricia may genuinely like Marcela and get along with her because they're both from the same social status (when they met, at least). It's most likely a recent development. Patricia probably never needed to use Marcela, because first she was with her rich dad and then her rich husband. Now all she has is a rich friend, so Marcela is now her only ATM.
This doesn't mean they aren't friends, but it's not precisely a very healthy or sincere friendship. For example, Patricia and Marcela wouldn't be willing to risk their own skin for the other in the wah that Betty and Nico are willing to do. Their friendship is skin deep. Whenver either of them did anything for the other (like Patty being a spy or Marce fighting with Armando for Patty) it was mainly for their own benefit (Patty wanting chisme// Marcela wanting a Patty as Armando's secretary to spy on him.)
Unfortunately, it's true that Marcela probably had no on else. In this sense, she's pretty much like Armando in the sense that she pushed people away and the only people willing to stand them are Mario and Patricia, who are both pretty shady people. Mario and Patricia, in fact, don’t hate their bedtfriends or actively think "i am only with them for the benefits." I think they genuinely see them as their besties! But in their eyes, besties have to be useful, too. Neither of them would be friends with someone who they couldn't use.
Both Marcela and Armando were pretty lonely people, and their respective best friends weren't really that good for them. They mainly used them, and because both Patty and Mario are pretty selfish and egocentric, they tended to feed bad tendencies in Armando and Marcela, but both Patty and Mario cared for Armando and Marcela in their own pretty terrible way😂
Thank you for the lovely ask!🥰

Rossy got fired from stardom??????????
LMAOOOO I was just about to post "lmao Rossy got fired" and then I saw this yeah apparently he got fired after the show last night. I never got around to writing that post about the management issues so I guess I'l try and summarize some relevant points before people panic
Okay so Rossy was off of booking since some time last year. We don't know for sure but my guess is that All Star Grand Queendom was his last show as booker, based on the belt going to Tam apparently being his decision and the timing of when stuff started to fall apart very shortly after that.
He was highly critical of the last president (who had been booking) once that guy got fired - and the issues with him were more than just booking. This was the stuff Giulia talked about. Like the schedule he booked was way too grueling on the wrestlers with non-stop big matches & shows back to back to back, and he would book matches just out of the blue without paying any attention to the stories the wrestlers were trying to tell, where Rossy's style was to just let the wrestlers throw out story threads themselves and then book what he thought would sell out of what they wanted to do. He also just was an idiot and didn't seem to think particularly highly of wrestling in the first place, pushing tons and tons of product tie-ins and advertising shit and the fucking NFT shit and. Yeah he sucked
However despite being highly critical of the last guy once he was gone, Rossy also said he didn't comment on the decisions he was making. He also may have been the one who decided who won or lost in the period before the new president came in, but from what's been made public at least, as soon as he came in he took over, so Stardom since whenever that was like the start of December has been the new president in charge.
So what I'm trying to say is, at least creatively, this probably isn't actually a huge change for Stardom compared to the past roughly a year of the product. People freaking out that the booker is just suddenly gone, he apparently hasn't been the booker for a while already now anyway. If you didn't notice a change in booking twice last year you probably won't notice this either.
So, yeah, Rossy did get fired. Bye bitch, it would be nice if this meant Sonny is on the way out too. Rossy is absolutely fucking not the guy who saved joshi wrestling or whatever the fuck narrative he & a lot of western wrestling media have been trying to present him as for years now. This probably isn't going to lead to a massive shift in Stardom's booking compared to what it's already been for months, and just as a fan we have no way of knowing what else this is going to impact, because it's hard to tell how much influence he even had for the past year, which was admittedly bad but more recently imo showing signs of turning around.
I think it's worth pointing out that one of the things that drove me off of both Reddit and Twitter wrestling fandom is that whenever shit like this happens everybody's gotta be a fucking insider or whatever and we don't. Know. Anything. But further than that it's not our fucking problem. We don't work for Bushiroad and we don't know anybody involved. We don't NEED to worry about what this means for The Business or whatever the fuck because that doesn't matter to us. I care about the roster being treated well and the product being one I am enjoying, and Rossy already couldn't prevent both of those things from not happening last year, so obviously he's not gonna be the difference maker.
My concern if I have one though is mostly the roster. If people are loyal enough to him to start jumping ship that would really suck. If the rumours that are already going around that he was poaching people for a potential NXT Japan pan out in any way that would REALLY suck. Even if the entire roster went I'm not going to watch a WWE product or even a show that isn't women in every match. So I guess as ever all we can do is wait and see.

Hi Flick, how are you? Happy that you're back 🤠
May I request "what wrong? / your feet are cold" for Shayne and Charlie? I'm not so sure if the list you reblogged was a prompt list, so if not, just disregard this!
Hey, Soup!! I'm totally up for doing some drabbles over the next few days, so thank you for the prompt 🖤
Word Count: 500+
CW: stomach ache, insecurities.
Prompt List
___
“Are y’okay?”
Shayne shivered as he put a hand on the end of the bed, more to steady than guide himself. “Mmm.”
Charlie half-sat up under the duvet. The pillow – and probably an unreasonable amount of drool – had left his hair in little tufts that stood out against the faint glow that made it through the curtain. “Didn’t realise y’were gone, did – did you get sick?”
Despite it being too dark for Charlie to really see him, Shayne shook his head. He crawled back into his side of the bed, too tired, and feeling too heavy, to talk.
“Lovely?”
“No,” Shayne hissed.
Charlie flopped down in bed again, facing the door. “But you’re still’n pain?”
Shayne hesitated, frowning as he pressed the back of his head into his pillow. He knew Charlie was barely half-awake from the way his words were slightly slurred. He also knew Charlie had an early start tomorrow, and those were a nightmare even when he was well-rested. The last thing he needed was to deal with Shayne's nausea and cramps, which, all things considered, were mildly inconvenient at worst.
“Do… d’you want me to rub your tummy, or d’you want to spoon me?” Charlie whispered.
Shayne sighed. How the fuck did Charlie ask something like that as breezily as asking if Shayne wanted coffee or tea?
“Rub or spoon?” Charlie said again, either sleepily or impatiently enough that it would have sounded, to the untrained ear, as though he’d said rubber spoon.
Shayne, having a trained ear, murmured, “Spoon.”
Though he was tempted by the thought of warm hands on his stomach, the option that involved less effort for Charlie was even more inviting.
He rolled gently onto his side and mimicked Charlie’s position.
It felt like something was pressing on his throat as he felt the warmth of Charlie’s back. It was too easy to let himself believe that Charlie was producing all of that body heat for the sole purpose of letting it radiate into Shayne’s chest and stomach. He felt guilty at having such a self-centred thought, even if he knew it was nonsense, and his first instinct was to pull himself even closer to Charlie, as though Charlie’s body could shield him from his own self-criticism.
He looped one leg in between Charlie’s, and Charlie let out a sharp, wobbling whine.
“What?” Shayne demanded, because that had been a whine of displeasure.
A steadying intake of breath. “Nothing.”
Feeling the slightest smack of insult – did Charlie really think so little of Shayne’s knowledge of his various noises? – Shayne slid his hand away from Charlie’s chest, and half-heartedly jabbed him in the side of his stomach. “What’s wrong?”
Charlie giggled weakly and grabbed hold of the offending hand. “Your feet are cold.”
Shayne’s heart dropped, and the pain in his stomach throbbed harder. What had he been thinking, taking up so much of the space surrounding Charlie? He started to slide away, untangling his leg from Charlie’s, peeling his torso away from Charlie’s back –
“No, no, cuddle in closer,” Charlie whispered. He tugged Shayne’s hand towards his chest, drawing him in like a cloak. “I can suck it up for a few minutes until you warm up.”
As he felt Charlie's warmth against his sore stomach again, Shayne also felt the lump returning to the back of his throat.
"'Night," Charlie whispered, drawing Shayne's hand all the way up to his lips and kissing his knuckles, "I love you."

Hi, about what the other anon said.
I think they're were referring to the swearing. Alicent was out of character because she would never say "fuck" this much, or lost her composure over a handmaid feelings. For Diane in the show for exemple, she said to Aegon she was ashamed of him. She made him feel pitiful by being extremely cold/passive-aggressive. Moreover, she understands the misogyny of her time. If Aemond is "tired" of his handsmaid/done playing with her, it's his right because it was very common for men to act like that. It sucks, but there is nothing she could have done.
For Aemond there are a couple of things I didn't really understand in your last piece.
1st : why would he be bothered by the fact she's a bastard, knowing he has himself fathered bastards ? Why would he be okay with having bastard sons but not okay being with a bastard ?
2nd : How did he guesses she was a Strong relative ? As I understood the concept of bastardy, even smallfolk could make "bastards". As long are your parents weren't wed, were they from nobility or not, you're a bastard. So even so Handsmaid is the daughter of a strong bastard, unless Aemond knew who Alys Rivers was, there's no way he could have guessed her "strong" blood.
Nevertheless, thank you for your work (I hope my critic won't bother you too much. I'm sorry if it does)
Hi love, I'd be very happy to clear things up a bit, and share my perspective on everything.
I can understand that Alicent's outburst may seem a bit OOC and confusing, and I've gotten a lot of hate for how I wrote her in the fic from last night.
In this series, Alicent has a soft spot for the handmaid (who I've taken to calling Anya, so I will refer to her as that in this specific response). I've hinted at it many times; for example, when she comforts her after learning she is pregnant with the twins. Some anons have greatly complained about it, but I won't change it. Anyways, Anya is a new and young mother, who's given her prince the heirs he has yearned for so badly...but now she is suddenly left alone in the nursery, to tend to the babes without their father. Perhaps that sounds a bit familiar? In Alicent's eyes, she's not only watching her beloved (favorite) son following down the same path as his father and brother, but Anya is also turning into an unappreciated and saddened mother.
I agree that, yeah, the cussing and the loss of composure were probably very unAlicent-like, but everything was done in an eruption of anger and frustration. People are human, and rage can easily change a person into someone else, even if it is only for five minutes. This is something she's likely kept bottled in for DECADES, after seeing herself and Helaena and now Anya suffer at the hands of their men, it just came out.
(And that is why Aemond was so dumbstruck and silent during it. This was so unlike his own mother that even he was left a bit gagged.)
As for Aemond himself:
The main reason for his feelings towards her bastard origins is rooted back in the trauma surrounding his eye. Aemond associates bastards with his nephews, plain and simple. The word is basically tainted and leaves a sour taste in his mouth. Plus, sometimes he is not always thinking straight (allowing those insecurities and resentment to influence his actions) and can be very hypocritical and confusing.
I imagine he is fine with fathering his children because, in his mind, since they resemble him, they're not *actually* bastards. They can pass as legitimate Targaryen babies born within a true marriage. Again, hypocritical.
And how did he figure out Anya was a Strong relative? Aemond is smart and cunning, we do have to give him that. If not in the book (he's dumb as rocks in it), then in here. He knows her mother's name now, and he's going to do a bit of digging.
He'll start putting two and two together as well: her features, the lack of a father's name in hers, Lord Larys Strong's strange soft spot, comments like "the daughter of a milk cow", etc.
At least, that is what I think.
My fic series is not perfect, and sometimes I'll make mistakes or accidentally overlook portions of the plot where it might remain open and confusing. I always really appreciate when people provide me with constructive criticism, as it helps me better my writing. Thank you!

Hey!! Idk if your acc is still active, and ik this is probably random, but what about possible headcannons for Genji x a female reader who is a full-time movie critic?
Tumblr media
It is honey! I just can take time to write things or answer because I'm not often on Tumblr since these last months. But requests are still open! So I can take yours with Genji.
It's short and I don't usually do headcannons, but I hope it's good. Here you go darling, and please enjoy! 💚🐉
OVERWATCH - ENGLISH
Genji x Female!Reader
Fluff/Comfort (I guess?) Girlfriend/Best Friend!Reader (whichever you want)
__________________
. You being a critic, precisely a movie critic, never bothered Genji.
. Genji loves movies, so he won't say no when you propose to him to watch one with you.
. He's always the one who brings snacks (little dinosaurs chips or biscuits).
. When you're watching a movie, he has his arm around you and he's eating his dinosaurs snacks. He loves to eat and cuddle.
. He laughs when you start criticize the movie, angry about something wrong with the film.
. All his attention is on you when you're talking about your opinions.
. He just loves seeing you being passionate about it all.
. The time your not watching a movie but you're working on a critic, Genji's staying behind you, curious to know what you're writing.
. You end up explaining what you're doing and then you ask him what is his opinion of the movie (if he already saw it with or without you).
. Sometimes, or often, your work is taking a lot of your free time.
. Yes, Genji Shimada loves movies, but he also loves you.
. When you can't hang out with him, he feels lonely.
. He could go say hi to Angela, play some video games with D.va or pray or meditate with Zenyatta, but no.
. He quickly misses the time you spend together if you both have been apart for a long time.
. If you're with your book or your computer, working on a critic for a long time infront of him, Genji wont hesitate to steal your thing from you and run everywhere in the house.
. (it's one of his way to force you to spend time with him, make you run after him.)
. Some nights, you can't find anything to write for you critic.
. So you're spending hours and hours with an empty page.
. Genji notices you're starting to be tired.
. He doesn't like when you're working too much on your critics.
. When this type of night is coming, Hanzo's brother forces you to go to bed. (if he has to carry you or drag you, he will do it.)
. You both end up on the couch or the bed, just chilling, cuddling and talking until you fall asleep.
. There's some bad points because of your full-time working on critics.
. But there's also lot of good times.
. If you need to go to cinema for your work, you'll bring Genji there with you and you both are happy when it's happening.
. You need to meet someone to share your critics but you don't wanna travel alone?
. Genji is going with you.
. You're tired of your work when you're home?
. Genji is right behind you and he's already been taking care of everything. 💚

Not trying to be a bother here, but I was wondering a few things about your post on the FS crew.
Do we know for certain Glenn only started gambling when his grandma went to the hospital? There's a line in the game that to me implied that it was a habit he actually learned from her.
Where was the info that Lucia trained him? Been trying to find that since last night honestly but maybe I'm just blind lmao. I know that they were cadets at the same time but I want to know if its true she trained him somehow.
Where did we learn they weren't actually friends? Glenn mentioned being able to acquire them because of the rumor of interpersonal relationships being prioritized and Matt mentioning that camaraderie is important for the mission implying at they all at least trust and are somewhat friends with each other.
What part was posturing? I didn't pick up on any of that honestly. Nor do I see why a trio that has known each other for roughly 4 years would need to do so (Original FS trailers show them meeting in 1998). But I could have easily missed things honestly.
Did they have something to do with Sephiroth being called in?? I don't remember them sending out the distress signal. I thought that was a call Shinra made all on its own since he had new mission orders.
Sorry I'm not trying to be a pain I just genuinely feel like I might've missed those somewhere or that I was bad at picking up any hints the game might've dropped. I can be pretty rough with missing that info and haven't found anyone else that's talked about them with this much detail yet.
I mean, my biggest issues with these characters are still the acceptance of genocide, suggested child murder, and excitedly declared intention to kill a dog, but I'll break the rest of it down because a lot of it is probably pretty easy to miss if you're not already feeling critical of the cast. (Hopefully those issues get called out somehow eventually, but they haven't yet, so I'd have a bad taste in my mouth over the characters just from that.)
Putting the explanation under the cut!
This isn't stated directly, because very little of this is—but Glenn's grandmother is already in the hospital, so apparently there was no hesitation to put her in there, and any initial costs were apparently covered. There's no mention of paying other bills for rent or anything else, so those were paid prior to her being hospitalized, but Glenn confirms that it's the gambling that used up any money he might have had. This isn't solid, but the timeline seemed pretty suspicious. (Glenn has a problem and needs to talk to someone about it.)
Glenn calls Lucia senpai! Further, I think Lucia is confirmed to have been team lead previously in EC? Either way, in the original battle royale she was the commanding officer, and is the one that handled training in the game's tutorial. She trained a lot of people, not just Glenn and Matt! (If you played the battle royale, she trained you too!)
I don't think they hate each other, but they're not really friends. We can go all the way back to the opening cutscene where Glenn threatens Matt with actual violence, and Matt's response is basically "Bet?" Add on Glenn using a nickname Matt hates over and over, and Matt stating repeatedly that he goes along with Glenn because he knows he has good intuition—not because he actually likes being around him or because he trusts him otherwise. This isn't a remotely friendly dynamic. When Glenn explains why he picked them for the mission, Lucia's response is to express frustration that Shinra now thinks she's his friend. Matt also expresses some confusion. Glenn says that he trusts them because they were in training together. When Sephiroth takes command, Matt and Lucia are 100% on board with cockblocking Glenn and straight up just ignore him when he talks shit, if not tell him to stop it altogether. They're friendly acquaintances, but they're clearly not as close as Glenn keeps implying.
Matt subtly suggested Glenn straight up kill Rosen immediately after meeting him. Lucia and Glenn both refer to Rhadorans as monsters. And yet (and yet!) when they come upon Sephiroth's massacre, they immediately start questioning his methods, Matt starts coming up with some excuse to have left them alive—this is a stark contrast to how they've behaved up until this point, a moment when everyone drops the bullshit and admits that this is wrong and they know it's wrong and they're just trying to be too cool to care, but they do care. This is the definition of posturing.
I didn't say they called Sephiroth in? What I said was reiterating Sephiroth's tirade/breakdown, when he explains that the way they operate is the reason that SOLDIERs like him have to exist in the first place. Because operatives like them posture and pretend, operatives like Sephiroth have to do the actual dirty work. Because the adults can't do what they're supposed to (see again: Sephiroth's breakdown) Sephiroth has to be the one to do the war crimes.
Hope this clears things up! I want to reiterate that in spite of all this, I do have hope for this cast and I am genuinely enjoying the story at this point. The first three chapters were a garbage experience, but I honestly loved the narrative and gameplay shift in Chapters 4 and 5.

I thought you would be interested to see this. Lanaboards didn't sign it which I think was a smart move. This was posted by Lana fans on instagram. I don't follow any Lana pages except Lana herself at Honeymoon. How dare these fans. They act like Lana could do anything about this. She signed the celebrity petition standing with Israel which has their panties in a twist. It seems that the majority of Lana fans are on the free Palestinian side of things. Even Lana's stalker Ricky Dat1guitarguy was disgusted by this letter. I agree with the stalker. 🫠
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
I'm only aware of anything that's happening because I follow @lanadelreyvisualaesthetics page and get some Lana updates from that page. I'm not a big fan of Lana fans (stans) because for the most part, they are terrifyingly insane. Not all of them, but about 98% of them. @lanadelreyvisualaesthetics falls in the category of Lana fans that are mentally stable and normal. I also look at Lana's own Honeymoon account when she opens it publicly just to get some kind of a update. But seeing as Lana promotes other people's work more then her own work, there's not much to get out of it. I don't have a IG account so I usually just bookmark pages I'm interested in to see what's happening. I'm only on tumblr for the most part.
That being said, I saw this post this morning. That's how I found out about this open letter to LDR.
These insane Lana stans have been over stepping Lana's boundaries for years. Let me remind people what happened the last time fans overstepped their boundaries with Lana:
Exhibit A:
She is just way too nice with these crazy stans. She needs to learn to keep her distance. I don't know why she's so nice to these crazy people. She follows them and replies to their stupid questions. That's why what happened during that chat group years ago actually happened.
If anything, look at how she goes about dealing with Dat1guitarguy on IG. This psychopath stands in her backyard. He follows her all over LA. He follows her to all her events. He drives to and from work driving by her house everyday. He goes to Hillsong just to sit a few chairs away from Lana just to stare at her the whole night. Dat1guitarguy is so deranged, he had his friend pretend he was wheelchair bound just so he can sit front row in the theater and watch Lana interview Joan Baez for her documentary. Several normal fans recognized him and called security. Security threw his ass out of the theater right along with his friend and his damn wheelchair.
Tumblr media
What does Lana do? She follows him on IG which is the wrong thing to do. It's encouraging a crazy person to think you are both friends.
Like I said before, she's too damn nice.
I hope when she takes a look at this stupidly written open letter, she blocks each and every account that signed it. Lanaboards is probably a "Free Palestine" idiot just as well but chose not sign that letter because they knew Lana would be pissed. The fear of Lana unfollowing them is real. It would be the end of their world. All you have to do is go on Lanaboards and see all the "Free Palestine" crap posted daily on that forum. The blowup doll that owns Lanaboards (Elle) isn't the brightest bulb in the box but she's smart enough to know that she doesn't want Lana to unfollow her. Not a smart cookie in general but definitely a smart move.
With this open letter (which was created by the person who runs that corny fanpage Delreydear on IG) this just adds to the mental instabilities of this fandom. This open letter is the stupidest thing I read in a while, not to mention, very antisemitic. This idiot did not blame the real cause of these atrocities or blamed the real culprits who are behind all this death and destruction of the Palestine people - HAMAS. Hamas were the ones who went to a festival in Israel and slaughtered and kidnapped hundreds of innocent people. They started this. They are the ones to blame. They filmed everything they did and boasted it on social media. Yet, some of these idiot sympathizers are denying the monstrosities of what was done, even though there's film of it. To make matters worst, Hamas camp at and hide in hospitals and refugee camps. They hide behind the innocent civilians who are getting blown up. Israel warned these people to leave but Hamas didn't allow them to leave. They were forced to stay. Instead of blaming Hamas, Israel is getting blamed. What did these people expect? Israel to sit on their hands while Hamas literally swooped in and kidnapped, brutalized, raped, burned, shot and decapitated their people? Get real. This is what war is. I didn't see anyone complain 20 + years ago after 9/11, when we went to war to defend our home and freedom. I didn't see anyone complain about Ukraine defending themselves from Russia. But Israel defend themselves from terrorists? How dare they! Monsters!
Now you got a bunch of woke whiny pansies screaming in the streets or college campuses "Free Palestine" and ripping down kidnaped/missing people posters off walls. Lets not forget all the "gas the Jews!" chants at all these protests. Lets not forget all these young Jewish kids having to hide at libraries or dorm rooms now because they are being threatened by these pansies in the middle of campus. There's a special place in hell for people like this.
Also, let us not forget what happened to Shani Louk. What a tragedy. This girl was kidnapped from the festival, raped, brutalized and her body paraded in the back of a truck where she was being spat on by these disgusting terrorists. These monsters are the people these stupid Lana stans and the "Free Palestine" idiots are "trying to save".
Not counting all the real innocent Palestinians who are victims of Hamas just like the people in Israel.
Signing off this post with the face of this tragedy, Shani Louk. After they were finished with her, they decapitated her. It's been confirmed a piece of her skull was found in the streets of Gaza. Anyone defending or sticking up for these terrorists are as disgusting as the terrorists themselves.

"Fearless ventures."
Note: The chapters might be short and the overall story still isn't fully planned, but i hope you enjoy reading as much as i'm enjoying writing this. Any criticism or suggestions are welcome!

When day is just as vicious and wild, night becomes rather active. The dangers that roam the earth when the sun vanishes won't fear coming in the light. They are as hid in the crowds as they are in the darkness. Furthermore, risk is what creates adventure, and Marceline craves that thrill. It made her feel alive, had her gasping for air she forgot about and stuck to the ground she very rarely used. It had her ravishing the moment, concentrated on the time being instead of her memories.
For that exact reason, her meeting with Finn and Jake was a delight. The two were always ready for whatever trouble she was planning. Fright was omnipresent in all of them, each disturbed in their own way, but the fun of it was enough to make them agree to the mischief. Boisterous escapades shared between them often lasted hours, when people of the moon probably watched over their happy shenanigans with repetitive facepalms and occasional gawks.
-"Hah, six! Beat that!" Besides their mutual boldness, Marceline and Finn also shared a competitive nature. The boy had been desperately attempting to break the vampire's record in skipping stones by the lake, but to no avail. He must've forgotten that she had ample time to perfect her technique in, pretty much, everything. It was inevitable, as was the boredom it brought. Unfazed, she took a talking turtle that had been walking peacefully, tossing it expertedly as it let a comical scream. It successfully leapt to the other, easly surpassing Finn's try.
She sighed, resting her chin over her palm, her arm supported by her knee. Jake, who had been watching them both, amused at their antics (a habit fatherhood taught him) chimed in:
-"Bored?" He tittled his head, eyes flickering between Marceline and Finn's grieving stature.
-"Yeah. I'm boooo.."
She interrupted herself, detecting a new presence. Her head whipped toward a shining figure floating on the water..or more like, above it. It was something they would find in one of Ghost Princess' abandonned cemeteries.
Jake followed Marceline's fixated gaze, watching the specter's back and its translucent body, void of color, reflecting the moon's brightness.
-"Hey!", Finn, who had just noticed the new company, oblivious to the extended quiet and rather seeing it himself when he was preparing his next throw, called.
The figure didn't respond, though, seemingly focused on whatever was inside the water. Finn opened his mouth to shout again, but was cut short as the bodyless form was abruptly emerged into the lake, as if something under the surface was harshly, yet consensually, seeing as there was a lack of resistance, dragging it down.
It kept glowing, illuminating the clear liquid, before the darkness overtook it as the specter was presumably pulled even further.
Silence settled over them again for a few more minutes, despite not once being broken through the whole ordeal. In fact, the ghastly occurence was so eerily quiet it didn't feel real.
Jake examined his friends' composures in a moment, locking eyes with a worried Finn glaring quizzically at the spot the stranger had previously filled, before inspecting the shocked Marceline who sat still, replaying the scene over and over in her mind.
-"Come on!", Finn urged, drawing his sword from his backpack and launching forward.
He was alarmed, though, when none the others were by his side.
-"Marceline?"
The girl's distant orbs and stiff grimace were plain indicators of her fear, which was a rare sight. Even herself didn't remember when was the last time she was that terrified! This exact incident wasn't particilarly horrifying, especially for someone who had seen generations of monsters of all kinds live and die in Ooo, so it was confusing to see her traumatised over it.
-"Marceline! What is it?"
It took several yells and shakes from both of the males to bring her back. She blinked thrice, as if trying to decipher what was happening, then replied:
-"Huh?... I don't know..." She sighed, trying to regain control over her slightly trembling fingers. "That thing weirded me out. I don't know what it is.", she admitted.
-"Then, let's find out." And with that, Finn offered her his hand, grinning reassuringly, and helping her up as she nodded.
And they drowned into another adventure.

The workshop thing wasn't great in that respect but it wasn't that bad either because it was so clear that people were jealous when they were being harsher than the professors, who did step in at points when it veered from critiquing stylistic choices into doing exactly what people who think tagging fics on that post is okay are doing. It didn't discourage me from writing but it did solidify my decision not to major in creative writing (this is probably also why I in particular was a target: it wasn't my major, it was a hobby, but I was as qualified as them and got as much praise as they did and even one time more than them on the very first exercise of my first workshop, which probably didn't sit right with them, but only fueled me further because I am nothing if not a creature of spite).
And that's the thing too: so many people can't grasp that there's a huge difference between "this isn't for me" and "this has a lot of issues". Which to preface, unless someone's asked you to beta for them keep your mouth shut. They're doing this for free. Exit out if there are too many errors or whatever (and errors isn't even exactly the word I want but I'm exhausted and didn't sleep enough last night). Not that those people SHOULD beta either even if they were asked, honestly, because they clearly do not have a grasp on what constructive criticism actually is or how it works. You don't need a workshop to learn that either, just basic human decency and Google.
But like anyways. In the workshops I read plenty of things I just Did Not Vibe With, but were objectively very, very good art and you could tell how much care the author put into them. Sometimes things just aren't for you and the author didn't poorly execute that concept, actually.
I ran into this a lot in Performance World, too, back when I was trying to get a singing/stage performing career off the ground. There are SO many threads of that part of my life I can relate to this discussion and it would take far too long to explain them all, but there VERY much was a culture of perfectionism. Jealousy and extreme competition were incredibly prevalent, lots of "stay in your box," lots of complaining if people didn't stay in their box. Even when we were learning (or doing community theatre just to stay in practice or build up a resume), the stakes always seemed astronomically high. Someone could do a passable or even genuinely good job; but if it wasn't good in the "right" way, then it was still seen as meaningless.
For courtesy's sake, I'm putting the rest of my thoughts under a cut, because. Well. This got long. As answers by me are wont to do.
There also was a lot of "pick a genre" and "this is the only MEANINGFUL type of music/art/etc." The opera crowd hated that I liked musicals and pop music because those styles were all "stupid" and "frivolous" and "simple" (which isn't. even true, no art form is a monolith, and what those words mean is going to be different for every person, but, you know). Everyone else hated that I sang opera because it was a "pretentious art form" and "boring" and "sexist/racist/etc." (Those first two are incredibly subjective, and plenty of modern opera works exist that seeks to not uphold those forms of prejudice.) There was "if you look like [x], then you can't do [y performance type]." "If your voice sounds like this, then you can't EVER pursue ANY roles outside of this small pool of stuff because you need to know your place; if you don't, people will think you're making Bad Art." And then you, at best, get shamed, and, at worst, can't make a living.
All of this, of course, was a matter of opinion. Most of it, like you said, boiled down to the fact that people were doing things that weren't, actually, bad or untalented or ineffective--they just didn't work for people. They didn't meet some arbitrary, subjective standard that had no real, concrete, actual meaning. But when people with any degree of power start taking their artistic opinions as immovable fact, we end up with...well, we end up with the current theatre climate, and we end up with whatever is happening in fandom communities right now. (Because just as there are some people who, for insisting on a lack of constructive criticism, should not be beta readers, there are some who should not be educators or directors.)
There were a lot of reasons that I eventually stopped performing publicly/on stage. But a big part of it was that I just didn't want to deal with that culture anymore. When I made the decision to walk away, I had gotten to the point where I'd started to hate singing. My primary form of expression, of catharsis, of solace, since I was eight or nine years old. And luckily, withdrawing from a professional pursuit of art has helped me get some of that back. But I see those same issues--that same negativity, that same judgment--starting to pop up in something that isn't even meant to be for money or a career or anything other than personal expression. I see so many people getting discouraged, starting to lose the love they had for that expression. My love of art was almost taken away from me, to the point where for a very long time I couldn't even do it for fun, alone, in the private comfort of my house. And if I can do anything to prevent that from happening to someone else, I sure as hell will.
I'm glad that you were still able to get some good out of that workshop, because that's not always easy to do when the people around you are acting like that. (And kudos to realizing that you didn't want to do this as a major/career, that's not always easy to do either.) And I know I've talked more about professional art, but this is so prevalent in the way people talk about community theatre, too. Being upset that a student production doesn't have Super Stellar Voices/Acting, ragging on amateur singers just for posting a karaoke video on their personal Facebook page, expecting Met-opera-level singing quality or Shakespeare-scholar levels of acting text analysis from a group of volunteers who are spending their precious few after-work hours to put on a musical, just because they want to share that story with people. I've seen lots of comments that it's not meaningful because it's "bad." When. I've done a lot of community theatre. Plenty of it is not bad, actually. If you hate it that much, you don't have to attend a production. (Just like how. if you hate a fic. you can hit the back button.) And even if it is "bad." It's still going to be meaningful to someone. Even in a "bad" production, at least ONE of the actors or crew members will have a good time helping create it. And at least ONE audience member is going to have a good time; whether that be because they simply love theatre, someone they love is involved with the production, or because they don't care about an arbitrary "quality" measurement. And I absolutely think the same thing is true of writing, and of fanfiction especially.
If, for example, someone goes to karaoke and screams "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Mis extremely off-key and grating, because they're experiencing a shitty situation and just need some catharsis? I don't have the right to rag on them for that, I would be an asshole. If someone posts a cover for fun on YouTube of...I don't know, "Take On Me" and can't hit the high notes, but wants to pay tribute to a song they love, who the fuck would I be to take that away from them? So if someone writes a "silly" or "stupid" or oh-God-forbid "cringe" piece of fanfiction (which. AGAIN. do not have any concrete meaning because those are SUBJECTIVE TERMS) to get some feelings out or to talk about how much they love a fictional character. Well, I think if you call them names over that and try to publicly shame or harass them, then, quite frankly, you are engaging in pointless, cruel, and braincell-less behavior. And you can stay 10,000 feet away from me.

I am really so frustrated by the idea that we can't critique and criticize things. Not liking Twilight is misogynistic. Being tired of Marvel movies is racist. Choice feminism/power feminism insiting we celebrate every decision or achievement of a woman, no matter how many people suffer for it. Having negative opinions on the way a work of fiction handles its depiction of real life abuse is puritanism.
Does public shaming help people? No, not usually. Should we do it? Not unless they're a politician or billionaire.
But is a post with all identifying information removed except for the fact that they're in a metropolitan area with a population of five million public shaming? A post the original poster is not meant to see?
I would say not.
And this insistence on avoiding specific examples leads to straw men, and it leads to overgeneralized statements like "Oh all YA is catering to adults with sex scenes now." without any examples of what they're referring to because it would be ~too mean~ to drop a title of a traditionally published book by a now-professional author and I'm over here going "well that hasn't been my experience with YA but I don't read *that* much and I'm not on BookTok so maybe they have a point?"
Was that post a little meanspirited? Yeah, sure. But also I think an example should be made of people who have that much fucking audacity. (And while there was definitely some ableism in the notes, I still don't know how that was "TERF shit" unless, of course, it's considered TERF shit to criticize unicorn hunters looking for a mom/wife figure instead of the usual sexual object unicorn hunters are usually looking for.)
It originally hurt my feelings, and to be honest sometimes it still does hurt my feelings, but the posts refusing to coddle outdoor cat owners in combination with articles (for the general public, I don't think I read any scientific articles) with statistics is how I became convinced that yeah, outdoor cats are dangerous for the environment and dangerous for the cat, and so now my current cat is indoor only except when on a leash or on the catio (to be clear my last cat was indoor-outdoor and lived to the ripe old age of 18 and I still miss her all the time).
Would somebody trying to convince me personally of all that have worked? Probably not. Indoor-outdoor cats was all I knew and it took months, maybe years, of reading posts not directed at me for me to be fully convinced. If those posts didn't exist and I only ever heard criticisms in one-on-one conversations I would have been even more defensive, and might not have ever listened.
I don't have a conclusion for this and it's an hour past my bedtime and I still am not ready so good night.
TERFs, SWERFs, book banners, "parental rights" advocates, and "anti woke" people, this post is not for you. None of my complaints are veiled statements or dogwhistles.
