Terzo has a hard time with a bet of his own creation.

“If I were you,” Terzo says with maddening condescension, “I would be realistic in my expectations for tonight. Specifically, about my chances of winning this little wager.”

It’s late, you’re sitting on Terzo’s bed reclining against one of his (many) decorative pillows, and he’s fixing you with a gaze so infuriatingly cocksure you’re tempted to get up and leave just to spite him. But. You’re here for a reason. He smiles at you.

“For example,” he continues, “I do not mean to be presumptuous but I am already sensing a distinct aura of you wanting me to pin you to this mattress and fuck you senseless.”

“I don’t think you should be putting words in my mouth like that,” you say. “I think that’s cheating.”

“I am sorry. Is there something else you would prefer me to put in your mouth?”

You’re feeling worse about your chances by the second. This hadn’t been on your bingo card for today, but escapades with Terzo were rarely predictable. You’d been happily minding your own business at lunch when, without so much as a hello, he’d dropped into the seat opposite you and said, “Would you like to make a sexy little wager in the name of self-restraint? More specifically, would you like to see who can keep their hands off the other for the longest?”

As most atrocious ideas do, it sounded great at the time. Of course your self-control is better than Terzo’s, a man who has never paused to consider resisting an impulse in his life. Easy. But now you’re face to face with him, your friend and occasional lover, and you swear he usually has his shirt buttoned higher and it’s strange, actually, that he’s wearing fresh paint this late in the evening. You’re not complaining, mind, you always joke about how you fancy him more with the papal paint on and- Ah. He’s playing dirty.

There’s a part of you that wants to skip the pretences and just get underneath him. Terzo is a busy man, with no shortage of nocturnal offers from Siblings (and he, in all of his charity, is committed to giving everyone a turn) and it’s been too long since he’s had his hands on you. You should make the most of the night, right?

No. You’re not losing to Terzo. If there is one thing you value more than getting laid, it is retaining your pride. Consequently, you’re going to effortlessly brush off his comments and absolutely not think about him putting his cock in your mouth and about how proud he sounds when he’s praising you while he’s fucking the back of your throat. Great. You’re in the clear.

“Alright,” you say, the very picture of internal peace. “Remind me of the rules.”

He leans back and props himself up on his elbows. “Simple. We kiss. We keep our hands to ourselves. We see who folds first, hm? Who is so overcome with desire that they simply must touch the other. Oh, and no touching yourself. This is not a mutual masturbation session. But we can schedule one in later if you fancy it.”

Deciding not to linger on that image for too long lest you lose this contest before it begins, you sit up.

Terzo shrugs. “Ah. It is a fun thing they are doing on the internet. Aether told me about it. And I thought of you.”

Oh. Well. That was nice of him. Or perhaps he reckons you’re an easy target. Judging by your so-far shambolic control of your own desire, he may be right.

Terzo tilts his head and looks at you almost pityingly. “I just want you to know that there is no shame in losing, hm?”

You’re going to make a mess of this bastard if it’s the last thing you do.

He shifts closer to you and makes a show of putting his hands behind his back. You opt to let your hands rest by your side, casual-like.

“Ready?”

“Ready.”

Terzo’s slow about closing the distance between you, savouring the anticipation you’ve no chance of hiding. He presses a gentle kiss to your lips in reacquaintance. Then, he pulls back to meet your eyes- gaze challenging, the quirk of a smile playing on his lips- and kisses you again. His tongue pushes into your mouth and you can’t stifle the moan that escapes you. He sets a torturously slow rhythm, tongue sliding against yours, deliberate and insistent.

Spend enough time at the Ministry and you’ll be privy to whispers, claims, hushed gossip in the corridors about the Papas’ talents and proclivities. Of course, there’s always room for exaggeration and downright fabrication (you don’t think Primo drinks blood, probably) but on Terzo there’s an unholy consensus: kiss him and prepare to be absolutely ruined for the rest of the week. Terzo kisses like he’s in love with you, as if there’s a hunger in him that you alone can sate, as if he was Hell-sent to show you pleasures you couldn’t even dream of.

It is rather inconvenient tonight that he is an exceptional kisser.

It’s impossible, mouth full of him, not to think of the nights that have started like this, the little rituals you’ve cultivated, memories of his fingers digging into your thighs and deliberate, unbroken eye contact as he sinks his cock into you. But- this isn’t the time. As much as you’re trying to ignore it, there’s a pang of desire settling between your hips. And who could blame you? As if it will do something to satisfy your need for touch, you wind your hands into the plush bedding beneath you. You can feel his hair falling in your face, he’s kissing you so persistently he’s almost pushing you backwards, and you don’t know how much more of this you can take. You want something, anything; pressure, stimulation, a bit of movement; it’s pointless to deny your arousal so you’re going to have to hang on through sheer willpower. He’s nipping at your lip and you’re stifling moans, but you’re not out of the game yet, not while your fists are clenched at your sides. Come on why won’t he just fucking touch you-

Terzo pulls away with a frustrated groan, eyes blazing, breathless. “You want me to fuck you? Touch me,” he growls.

You look down. He’s gripping the sides of his thighs, hard enough to leave marks, as hard as he’d be grasping yours if he could only touch you. More importantly, you can see the outline of his cock straining against his trousers. He always did know how to compliment you. You’ll have him yet.

You shake your head. “I’m going to make you fold, Terzo.”

And you kiss him, hard and messy and laced with desperation. He’s stubborn, giving it right back to you, allowing you no quarter. For all your bravado, you can feel your resolve weakening; if it’s this, if it’s Terzo kissing you like his life depends on it, then you might not last after all. It’s time to step your game up.

When you press the first kiss to Terzo’s neck, you feel his jaw tighten in response.

“This is cheating,” he says.

“It isn’t,” you murmur against his skin. “I’m not using my hands.”

This isn’t what he means, of course. He means it’s cheating because if you know anything about pleasing Terzo, you know to go for the neck. Terzo wants your tongue grazing over his skin, for you to bite and suck hard enough to bruise, he’s happiest with your hands around his throat. He’ll beg for it. He’ll whine underneath you. You’ve seen it first-hand. And you think, trailing slow kisses downwards, feeling the rumble of annoyance in his throat, this might be his fatal oversight tonight. So confident, so cocky, so convinced you’d come undone before you had the chance to make him buckle here. Lucifer knows how much willpower he has left in him, but- oh?

You feel it. You know you feel it. With your face buried in his neck you don’t see it but you’re sure- the slightest brush of his hand against your arm. But it’s light enough that he can claim plausible deniability, so it won’t do. You want to ruin him, unequivocally.

Meeting his eyes before you descend on him, you slowly, deliberately, run your tongue across his skin. He should’ve picked someone else. Someone who didn’t know exactly where to stop, where to press wet, open-mouthed kisses, someone who didn’t know the timbre of his moans. It’s easier, now, to ignore your own arousal when your heart is hammering at the thought of beating Terzo at his own game. You let your teeth graze his skin. Teasing. He craves the bite.

“Come on, ” he whines, and it’s more to himself than to you, and you glance down and his hand is hovering over his cock, fingers twitching. It’s a beautiful sight. Frameable.

You bite down.

“Fuck.”

It’s sharp, laced with arousal and annoyance. He pulls back from you, breath heavy, flushed beneath his paint. Your eyes meet.

“What have you done to me, hm?”

And then he’s kissing you again, and- there are hands cradling your face while he kisses you deeply, feverishly. Terzo drops his hands to your waist and pulls you on top of him, grunting as the back of his head hits the mattress. You shift to straddle him and he runs his fingers up your thighs, hands settling to grab your arse, and he bucks his hips up to grind his cock into the base of your hips.

You’d have to be a saint of some description to attempt to hide the smile creeping over your face. Unfortunately for Terzo, you are nothing of the sort. Having him underneath you, hands kneading your flesh, cock hard for you- mixed with your own, blazing, triumphant desire- you can’t help but laugh.

“Just to clarify,” you say, with what you’re sure is an infuriating smugness, “I win, yeah?”

Terzo rolls his eyes at you. “Yes, yes. Well done. Your pride is intact.”

You lean down until you’re face-to-face with him. “What do I get?”

For a moment, he’s still. Then, hands firm on your hips, he pushes you sideways so he can roll you over, beneath him, submissive. He pulls your legs apart with ease. With one hand, he works his belt undone.

So, you get asked about PK and WL a lot, in part because you're realistic about them being nuanced. I've rarely ever seen folks ask you about the Radiance, though, even you've mentioned you give her the same treatment. So, you got any headcanons, heartcanons, and gutcanons for her? Feel free to do as many as you want!

Okay so I long forgot the headcanon, heartcanon, gutcanon ask template because I've been chewing on this since [checks date] September 5th 2020, so instead you get a long ramble on the Radiance vs individual hcs for her since I don't really talk about her as much as I do the pale fam

Radiance...hm. She's a very complex character who frightens me on some personal levels, but I really am quite fond of her reguardless, because part of what scares me about her is how closely her anger mirrors my own (and that of my immidiate family). She reminds me very much of the aspects of myself and a few choice individuals in my blood relations that I do my best to avoid, rather than have a delight of a time pointing and laughing at, like I do with the flaws of myself I see in the Pale King. Except Radiance doesn't just have those flaws, she's also got the added Christian crusader imagery that decrees the death of anyone who opposes her that also reminds me quite a bit about certain things in my life I'd very much rather go without (I was raised Muslim. I'm sure you can connect the dots). So there is a level of discomfort there that keeps me from engaging with her character on the same level that I do with Hollow and the Pale King, which is something that I am sure many Radiance fans feel in turn about PK himself. No judgement there.

But that's personal, so I'm not going to get into it. Just putting a note of it here because it does very much influence how I write her.

The Radiance is someone who is, at her core, very very lonely, and is also fundamentally afraid of being lonely. She is Grimm's twin in my headcanon (or, as much as one can be a twin when you were both divinely spawned from the same event), but Grimm is also her opposite, and so he never really did much other than highlight how deeply different she was from the only ever person that she knew. They were spawned in a place outside of Hallownest, in the creation of the Dream Realm where there was nothing around them but other hungry Higher Beings grasping for power, and that in turn did little other than prove to her that the whole world was against her and that the only way that she could persist was to eliminate all threats to herself before they had a chance to attack her first (Grimm, on the other hand, was fascinated by death and the play of power among power-hungry gods, and was much more inclined to observe until they clearly became a threat to him, ao that he could learn from them first. This difference is something that lead to the schism between the realms).

She is an extremely emotional person, acting on raw passion before all else- but that's because being rawly emotional never let her down in the past. How could it, when her fury burned with the force of a thousand stars, and incinerated all that dared threaten her? And how could she be anything but furious, when she had nothing but proof that the whole world conspired against her, and it was her burning rage that beat back the darkness of the cold, unfeeling Void, the one thing that could destroy her and her sibling? She was not always angry- more often than not, she was lonely, wanting nothing more than something to care for and protect- but anger served her well and so it became her first line of defense against anything that threatened her, and she was always right because nothing bad had ever come of her in the past.

(This is because she killed most things that she feared before they had a chance to move against her. The utter destruction of the Void Civilization was one such occurrence, happening after she had settled in Hallownest, created the moths, and deemed those who worshiped the dark below as a threat to both her and her newborn children.) I also believe that the Moths were created just before or right after the schism between her and Grimm, her barely-younger brother; because if he would not listen to her and allow her to care for him and be her family, then she would simply make one of her own, a family that she could dote on and adore and had no choice but to love her. And while she very much drove that schism, it was still a betrayal that stung her to the very core. He was her brother! He was supposed to agree with her, to love her and listen to her! She only ever tried to protect him, so what does it mean for him to defy her? That he doesn't actually love her after all, and that if she truly desires a family of her own, she must make it herself. One that will actually love her. One that will not defy her.

So, to recap: the Radiance is a fundamentally lonely person. But she is also fundamentally a very, very fearful person, to the point of overwhelming paranoia. And she grew up in an environment where this paranoia was not only unchecked, but encouraged.

This is what lead to her overcontrolling nature- because when she was able to control everything, she was able to see all of the problems before they became too hard to control, and thus eliminate them from the very start. I headcanon that the bugs of Hallownest had no free will under her control, but it wasn't the same as the malicious infection that we see in-game; it was genuinely because she cared, to the point where she had to look through a thousand eyes and ten thousand minds in order to nurture her kingdom the way she thought was best. She didn't kill all of the Void Civilization- the beetles persisted, as we saw- but she had to control them anyways, to wipe their minds of what she did and to prevent dissent. The Moths had a level of freedom that the others did not, but this was only because she created them and placed them first before all other bugs, and so thought that they would never have a reason to dissent against her. Why care for freedom when you can have security, after all? She never once in a million years thought that they would betray her for the Pale King, because she never once in a million years ever thought that anyone could ever want something like freedom in exchange for an uncertain, self-made future. It's too risky, too dangerous. Too lonely.

(This is also why I headcanon that the moth civilization collapsed after they abandoned Radi- they had been coddled for so long that they had no notion of independence, and thus could not survive on their own in a civilization that made itself with free will. This absolutely does not excuse PK of potentially being involved in their downfall, because I do think he played a huge part in it, but it does account for their diminishing numbers without any indication of physical genocide. I've seen some think that they were hit the first and the hardest by the Infection but I don't believe that Radi, even with her vengeful qualities, would have done that-or if she did, then Seer made no mention of it, likely because of her tribe's guilt about bringing back the Radiance even if it isn't their fault.)

(Part of this headcanon also ties into another hc I have about Radi, which was that she was very involved in her rule and would answer to almost every prayer- including ones that involved illness or injury. If you prayed for the sickness to go away, then she would answer the call and abolish it. The Moths got first treatment, because they as her children knew exactly how to call her, but this also meant that when they switched to PK's rule where he advocated for independence and self-sufficiency based on problem solving, they suffered far more than the others who had to reply on learning their own medical care when Radi was too busy to hear their prayers)

That's not to say that Radiance was a bad ruler by any means, but we do know that she and PK are opposites, and we have records of how distant he was from his civilization, which indicates that Radiance was deeply involved by contrast- likely suffocatingly so. That's part of why I love to play with her and Grimm being siblings, to be honest, because he acts as a sort of neutral zone between the Pale King's style of ruling (by almost zero personal involvement) compared to the Radiance's obsessive control- he holds power over those under his command, but he also relinquishes that power when they fight back, and makes the break from the trope relatively stressless by wiping their memories and leaving them with a defensive charm (if Carefree Melody is any indicator). Likely this is because Grimm is a scavenger-god who has seen how many a kingdom has fallen to ruin, but I can also imagine how an exposure to the Radiance would have encouraged him to give his people more freedom of will while also continuing to engage with them at all, which the Pale King didn't do. But that's a Grimm tangent right there- the point is that I do believe the Radiance did everything out of a love for her people.

The problem is just that emotions are her fatal flaw, and when they don't suffocate, they burn. We know that she isn't just pure emotion made manifest- she's an insidious manipulator, and quite skilled at it, too. She didn't win over the Traitor Lord or break the minds of the bugs of Hallownest through sheer force alone (though I'm sure she had to in some cases...like the Hollow Knight). But everytime she makes a bad decision, it's because her emotions got the best of her. She is the inverse to the Pale King, whose fatal flaw was that his logic blinded him to the emotions he felt towards his children, and to realizing the Vessel Plan was doomed until it is far too late. She got herself to where she was by blazing forth in a fit of fury, and turning the hurricane of her betrayal into a punishment that the entirety of Hallownest got caught up in, whether they were innocent or not. She wormed her way into the minds of those who listened to her and brutally slaughtered the rest. She might have had some justification at first, when she was clawing desperately out of the dark of near-death, but that justification was snuffed out quick. Her anger is brutal, grotesque, vengeful, and all-encompassing. She hates you, the player character, Little Ghost, for what you represent and who you are, and she hunts you relentlessly, using the corpses of the friends and siblings she's killed to try to murder you. But it's not just self-defense: it's hatred. When Ghost challenges her in the Dream Realm, she didn't have to answer, but she did. Because she is fury incarnate, and she will not suffer the mockery of the void-tainted scion of her enemy.

She might have been a benevolent goddess once, but no longer. She's beautiful and majestic. She's also a genocidal monster. Her actions have justification, for they were self-defense and retribution for her betrayal- until she began to destroy the lives of innocents in her hunger for power. She's a complex character, a sympathetic one even, and is even more terrible for it.

So yeah, she scares me, even though I love her. But can you really blame me?

Oh, they made Verucca's disguise while meeting with Clown Siblings very similar to Rakepick. I am genuinely furious.

Oh, I hate it… I hate it for so many reasons…

Ok, first of all, I really wish JC could be more consistent about their fucking dumb decisions. I know I’m asking for a lot, but if they decided to make Verucca related to Merula and not Rakepick – then keep your fucking teasing about Rakepick for yourself. Because you can’t tell me they made this disguise so similar to Rakepick. So, like… why? Why would they do this? It doesn’t really make sense for Verucca to use it to mock Rakepick or something, so… Just why?

And I swear, if they’re actually building up for the reveal that Verucca is related to Rakepick after all, meaning that Rakepick and Merula are also related… I’m gonna be VERY upset.

Secondly, why the fuck Verucca wore the Eye of Ra? I talked in the past already about how incredibly stupid it is to make the Eye of Ra the symbol of a secret organisation, but like… she really could’ve hidden it if her goal is not to draw attention. You know, just like she did at the end of Y6, choosing the most generic Dark Witch appearance – which actually was addressed directly as the reason why she might be hard to find.

But apparently, JC is trying to retcon it since Mundungus somehow recognised Veruca??

But how she could recognise her if when he saw her, she looked like this:

AND NOW SHE LOOKED LIKE THIS?!

Also…

VERUCCA’S “DISGUISE” IS LITERALLY THE OPPOSITE OF DISGUISE.

Let me remind you something: Rakepick was basically a celebrity. People knew her and knew about her later crimes. She also apparently used to come to the Hog’s Head Inn because Aberforth wasn’t particularly surprised to see her there at the beginning of Y6 when she was already on the run. Therefore, REALISTICALLY SPEAKING, people seeing Verucca with the Clown Siblings in the recent chapter should be like:

Oh, damn… Is it Rakepick with MC?! Shouldn’t she be locked in Azkaban?! Why MC is with the woman who killed their friend? IS IT JACOB, TOO?! Wait… Phew, it’s not Rakepick! But hm, who is that woman and why she looks so much like Rakepick??

The only way Verucca could be more suspicious is if she had a big sign saying: “HEY! I’M ABOUT TO SCAM THOSE STUPID KIDS! YOU PROBABLY SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!”

Seriously, she’d probably draw less attention if she showed up in her normal appearance. Because here’s the thing: she is Merula’s legal guardian. And I’m sorry, but I just don’t believe she was never seen with her niece in public. Even if it’s rare, it’d make sense for them to meet now that graduation is approaching. So, all they had to do is to have Verucca meet with Merula, then have MC and Jacob come (because everyone knows MC meets with their friend at the Hog’s Head Inn all the fucking time), and then they could even play a stupid scene like: “Oh, Merula! Who is that? Your aunt?? It’s so great to finally meet your family!”. Like… tell me it doesn’t sound like something MC would do, even in normal circumstances.

It’s just… so fucking stupid. How nobody at JC realised that this “disguise” makes absolutely no sense?

Oh, by the way! I absolutely love the term “Clown Siblings” ❤ It should become official.

So, day 1 with Digimon Survive

It's a fun experience. It's not quite what I'm used to from the franchise or from games in general, but it is fun and new yet... nostalgic somehow. I mean aside from Agumon and the rest of the typecast characters. There's something about the game itself that feels new but also reminds me of something long forgotten. Probably just that I've been waiting 4 damn years for it.

But anyway, so far the whole "70% VN 30% TRPG" thing isn't too inaccurate? But I'd say it's more 60/40. There's definitely room for battles when you're given the chance, but the beginning is pretty long. The Tutorial for battle is quick but the Tutorial for exploration and dialog choices is about a couple of hours long

As far as story, it's both typical and not typical for Digimon at all. 8 kids at a summer camp get trapped in another world, including resident goggle head, a brother and his younger sibling, the responsible one, etc- but this has a supernatural, vaguely religious and terrifying twist to it. Literally in the tutorial you see these devs aren't playing around with one of the most horrifying ways for a character to die- and again, this is the tutorial, maybe 10 minutes in.

The story and Characters are unsurprisingly going to carry the game for the most part. I mentioned that they're typecast pretty similarly to the Adventure cast, but they're not quite the same. Takuma is a lot more calm and chill than Tai, and his personality is more liquid, depending on choices. I think my favorite of the bunch is Minoru, who is somewhat a mix of Mimi, Sora, and Tai at the same time and is brimming with personality and meme potential. The best Digimon though is Aoi's partner, Labramon, who exhibits all of the expected traits of a doggo that loves you after just meeting you and having severe separation anxiety. I would like to push Ryo into a mud puddle though- he's a realistic character, mind you, but he's tsundere and a coward at the same time, which just makes him annoying.

There's choices to be made, but I'm not quite sure how they affect the story just yet. But they pop up depending on how much time you spend with a character, at points in the story to decide whether you fight or run, etc.

Because my friend keeps asking about monster taming elements in it compared to Cyber Sleuth- I would strongly advise to curb your expectations. For one, there's only 117 monsters in the game vs close to 400 in CS and HM. That, and recruiting is more like an SMT game, but a bit easier imo so far. I haven't gotten too deep yet, but I believe the evolution tree is also a lot more tailored to specific monsters and smaller.

As for the Visual Novel experience, it's not too hard to get into and there's actual gameplay elements too. Also there's a lot of voice acting (no dub) and the characters are actually animated in some places, so it's a bit like playing an anime.

Overall with first impressions, I'm very impressed. I was a little worried I wouldn't be into this, but it's not hard to pick up at all. But it is a lot of reading- I'm surprised that I'm actually okay with it sense I usually hate reading (I think the enlarged letters help a bunch), but if you're one of those people that complained about too much text in the Story games, you're gonna have a bad time. Like a REALLY bad one.

As far as my own gripes, I wish BAMCO would fire their localizers and get a new one, because every fucking game from them has sloppy typos or errors that would easily be fixed if they spent a little more time scanning for errors, and Survive is no exception- granted its not a ton so far, but it really takes me out of it when I have to stop and decipher what was meant. I can't remember an exact instance, but one was something like "He is ain't going there," but more complicated and harder for me with a reading disability to decipher.

Another gripe is that the game has long load times- which I thought would be fixed by swapping to a Switch cartridge instead of a PS4 disc, but nope. It's not Sonic 06 levels long, but still pretty irritating.

Then there's a lack of polish to controls. They work fine, but you'll definitely feel that using the stick in combat to set directions could be better.

But other than this, there's a lot, and I mean a LOT of soul here. They're taking a very different approach here compared to usual, but it's fun and I'd ask anyone on the fence to give it it's fair chance. In fact, if you would as a personal favor, consider at the least adding it to your wishlists so BAMCO will see the interest the west has in their games. Their marketing has been atrocious and they don't treat the series with the same respect they do towards their other games, so if more interest is generated, they'll follow the money!

Please give it a shot! I'm going to hold off on rating it because I'm only in part 1, but it's fun so far.

PFFFt ok. max's van wasn't really set up yet but they have the exact designs for what they wanted to do with it. their original plan was to buy the oldest shittiest used junker they could find and outfit it but they actually think a newer one will last them longer. but yeah no there are extremely detailed drawings and specific product numbers of what they want and everything... if only they still had the van.

3. describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic

starting off strong lmfao

uhm.

okay so for oneshots, i'll just come up with an idea and i just kinda go from there, no actual outline or plan. i prefer my fics to have a happy ending, so i do have the end in mind, and its basically just "it ends with comfort and/or cuddles".

honestly, i only come up with a vague idea of what i want to happen and let the fic do its own thing.

for some of my longer works (three-shots or oneshots that go over 10k and have a plot), i'll come up with a mental list of the things i want to happen, no real outlines to worry about there either.

regarding fics with more than 3 chapters: i havent written those since 2020 (which is. wild) so i only have one example for this (since my last longfic was zero outline, just a core concept, "fuck it we ball". i like the energy 16 y/o me brought to the table tbh). what i did for all the ashes in my wake was that i made an outline (just filled with the major plot points in the fic, bullet point style) just to have a general direction to take the fic in.

then i made a chapter by chapter outline (that i update everytime i veer off-track or introduce something i didnt originally intend to add in (*cough* big mama *cough*)). i just jot down the basic things that will happen, how its gonna end, plus some basic notes regarding the progress of the internal + external conflicts. stuff to keep in mind and the such.

(sorry if this one is a bit all over the place, it's hard to really describe my creative process other than just saying "chaos and dozens of sticky notes")

15. how do you write smut scenes? Do you get very visual or detailed? How important is it to be realistic?

i've never actually written any smut scene. first, i think i'd be very bad at it, but also i've just never really wanted to write anything smutty.

20. have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

i DO actually have a common setting for patrol scenes!! i like to set those in warehouses more often than not. not sure why, maybe because it's such a generic bad guy location, or because it's a location that doesn't require too much research. when in doubt on where to set your patrol/fight scene, put em in a warehouse!

other than that, i like to compare my characters feeling dizzy/about to pass out to feeling like they're underwater/everything feels muffled/murky

similarly, when a character wakes up after passing out/being knocked out, i like to write "it was like breaching the surface of a murky pond" or something like that

(i wish i could put more here, im just very bad at noticing my own writing patterns lmao.)

26. which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

my one and only crackfic ghosts? in front of MY salad? where duke thomas decides the best sibling bonding activity is trying to summon a ghost when he lives in gotham city. this was written in one sitting at 3 in the morning, and you can tell.

here's a little gem from this nonsensical fic:

“So,” Duke said nervously. “Does anyone know how to unsummon a ghost?” Another lamp was knocked off a cabinet and smashed on the ground. Alfred was really not gonna be happy.

55. of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?

hm. for this fandom, my favorite to write for is Leo (i dont think ive been subtle about that LMFAO)

the choice wasn't really swayed by followers or readers, he's just so easy to write for me because i relate to him (and raph) the most, and we share a similar sense of humor which really makes writing internal dialogue and his pov chapters easy for me. and this is especially true for ataimw, but im the oldest and i saw a lot of myself in leo when he was arguing with raph in the movie and i quite literally went "oh so he is EXACTLY like me during arguments"

i do HC leo as the younger twin, so with me being the oldest sibling, you would THINK raph would be easier to write for me but nope!! apparently not!!

(maybe its bc i see leo as having adhd like me and going "i can write that. I CAN WRITE THAT")

I've noticed for both myself and others in the series that Jakurai comes across as a little too "perfect", especially considering how most, if not all characters in the HM universe have flaws. Sure, there's Drunkarai, but this seems to be mostly played for laughs. What, if any character flaws do you see this character having?

I didn’t find Jakurai very compelling at the start because, as you noted, he seemed a little too “perfect”. As far as fiction goes, characters with no room to grow don’t tend to make for very good stories, but after a good deal of poking around looking for more substance, I eventually warmed up to him more.

Various character flaws or I guess more human/realistic traits about Jakurai:

Jakurai doesn’t betray his outwards emotions much, making him a very calm character, but that’s not to say that he isn’t affected by them at all. Rather, he hides them whenever possible but loses composure whenever someone he cares about is threatened, like in Yotsutsuji’s case or with Shishikai. He’s also poor at hiding them around Ramuda, presumably due to his complicated feelings of betrayal and irritation, which can make for some pretty entertaining but otherwise uncharacteristic of Jakurai scenes, like the time he roasted Ramuda in FP/M 12.

For all his put together appearance, Jakurai frequently makes some truly bizarre decisions which can ultimately backfire on him. TDD 3 has an excellent example of this - asking for rap lessons from a complete stranger who somehow knows more than he should about Jakurai’s past and is capable of knocking out multiple trained soldiers does not strike me as well-thought out.

On the flip side, Jakurai also doesn’t step up enough in some situations where people are in danger. Jakurai lets Yotsutsuji go off and do whatever with somewhat disastrous results and doesn’t take direct action when he notices Ramuda’s distress (as compared to someone like Dice who doesn’t know what the hell is going on but goes in swinging anyway). This also persists in anime canon, as in one of the very first episodes, Jakurai figures that Ichirou has it covered and doesn’t help when Ichirou is a hostage in a terrorist attack. While Ichirou does break out successfully with the help of his siblings, I have to wonder if letting a nineteen-year-old handle a terrorist attack alone is perhaps not the best idea.

This isn’t really a character flaw, but it’s something I do find very interesting and rather subtle - Jakurai seems to be strongly aware of what other people think and what is the socially acceptable way to act... but only when other people are watching. This once again has to do with TDD Ramuda, specifically with the way Jakurai treats him in private vs in public. When there are other people around, Jakurai is frequently stern with Ramuda and lectures him on proper behavior (see - telling Ramuda not to drink directly out of a bottle, telling Ramuda to not fling himself at people in present day canon, telling Ramuda not to make fun of Samatoki, etc), and yet his attitude towards Ramuda in private can best be summed up as “ :) Fascinating!” In certain instances, Jakurai even appears to enjoy the very things he considers improper, such as Ramuda’s displays of physical affection. I suppose this can be considered hypocritical, but I mostly think of it as a very specific case of double standards.

Jakurai appears to have some trouble recognizing or understanding other people’s perspectives and can be dismissive of them as a result. A few examples that come to mind are Jakurai failing to notice Shishikai’s and Hitoya’s envy and Jakurai dismissing Yotsutsuji’s concerns about Ramuda in TDD.

I feel like I just wrote a bizarre version of a callout post.

All in all, Jakurai strikes me as a conscientious character who works very hard to cause as little harm to others as possible, which I personally find very admirable. Perfection doesn’t allow for growth or much of an exciting story, though, so I’m glad that there are little cracks in his facade. I hope that Hypmic will continue to expand on those to allow for more development of this character and the Matenrou story arc.

I personally headcanon that qiqi and keqing are related, though since qiqi is confirmed to be really old, maybe she had a sibling, uncle or aunt who was the ancestor of Keqing... Could you do a little headcanon about these 2 finding out

This is a really interesting take. I tried to write a little something so it would make sense. Maybe not exactly what you had in mind, Anon, but I hope you’ll enjoy!

Keqing had this bugging feeling of deja vu every time she saw Qiqi running around Liyue with her usual errands. She wasn’t sure why it felt so strange, like something was sitting in the back of her head.

When she decided to study the ways of Morax and to follow his footsteps, she started with diving deeper into the history. And what a better way to start than from your own family and dynasty. Start from simple research before concurring the big one. Moreover, since she comes from illustrious Liyue family, it could be beneficial to learn how her predecessors came to be so successful.

It was only natural for a daughter of noble family to be educated in different fields. But Keqing was a true perfectionist, so she sat herself in the family library with old dusty books, journals and scrolls piling up to the ceiling, ready to dive deep into her ancestry until she feels she learned enough.

The future of Liyue was partially in her hands now, and she would take any opportunity to better herself for this role. She needed to become a successor to what Rex Lapis had achieved, to surpass him for the people of Liyue and their bright future. So, the restless nights of research began.

Most of the stories she was familiar with, she knew a big part of her family-tree, so Keqing tried to focus more on some distant branches. She eventually came across a few names she barely remembered, people whose stories were long forgotten.

Some of the old journals and records may have made for an interesting read, but were, unfortunately, pretty useless. It was already long past dawn when she finished. Her eyes were getting tired, eyelids heavy. Going through pages and pages of hand-written family history for hours was exhausting and in the end mostly boring. Keqing didn’t gain much from it at all.

A very old dusty journal caught her eye. She couldn’t resist but take a look, this was the last one for the day. Keqing was tired enough to just mindlessly go through some pages, taking note of only some dates and names here and there.

Further in the book pages were mostly filled with drawings, or more like little sketches. These were surprisingly realistic hand-drawn flowers and herbs, with some hard to distinguish names besides them. This distant relative had to be some kind of herbalist, a scientist maybe? Hard to tell since the writings must have been a few hundred years old and mostly faded.

Keqing was ready to helplessly move the book away to the rest of the ‘useless’ ones, but a piece of paper slid out from between the pages. She tiredly reached for it to take a quick glance. It was yet another drawing, surprisingly well preserved. It depicted a family, nothing unusual, but something really caught Keqing’s attention.

There was a little girl that looked quite familiar for some reason. Well, this were some distant relatives, so no surprise that she reminded her of someone… And then she remembered. The girl on the drawing looked exactly like Qiqi, that strange child working as a herb gatherer at Bubu Pharmacy. What a strange coincidence.

The image of the little girl bugged Keqing for awhile after that. She even visited the Pharmacy a few times to make sure she wasn’t going insane. It was not just the fact they looked alike, they were completely identical! Did it mean Qiqi and her were related? Then why did neither of them know?

Unable to get this mysterious piece of information from her head, Keqing eventually brought the little drawing straight to Qiqi. Maybe she knew the answer, maybe she was hiding something? This absolutely can not be a coincidence, this just isn’t logical.

- It is… a nice picture, thank you. - No, wait, don’t you recognise any of these people? You look exactly like the girl over here. - Hm. Sorry, I don’t remember. Zombie memory is bad.

Well, that didn’t make it any less weird, only more questions appeared in Keqing’s head. It was a rare occasion when she was completely lost for ideas on how to solve this strange occurrence. How could she rest without getting some kind of answer? Was it a test of her wit? Or maybe of acceptance of one’s helplessness?

Keqing had to come to terms with the fact there was not much she could do. She wasn’t going to seek adepti’s advice, that’s for sure, so it was only endure and move forward.

She surprisingly took it upon herself to look out for Qiqi from time to time. She seemed lonely and maybe even a bit lost, so Keqing could be of some help. Not like she was any good with kids or whatever creature Qiqi was supposed to be anyway, but her sense of responsibility was strong enough not to leave her supposed relative (?) all alone.

It was a bit awkward though, since Qiqi referred to her only by «Little Sister» from that time on and wouldn’t stop or give it any reasoning.

Demon Deep Dive (JCA)

Someone asked if I could do headcanons for the Eight Demon Sorcerers from Jackie Chan Adventures, so here it is, and more! Much more oh God...

Canon Stuff

All seven Demon Sorcerers HATE Shendu for his conniving nature and deceptive past towards/with them (Drago just hates him because father issues)

The Demon Sorcerers do not need external objects to perform spells, for it simply comes from their physical being

They are all old fucks

There are plenty more demon sorcerers, but these eight/nine are all those that were ever mentioned

All want to rule the world

Everyone, aside from Shendu, actually somewhat care about each other and agree to rule the world together. Why is that even though they shouldn’t have “social urges“ because of their biology? We’ll discuss that later

Looking back on the very first episode they were all in together, they are fucking in sync as all Hell! They were finishing each others’ sentences, they knew what each one was thinking. Damn, son, they be tight AF; family goals, amiright?

How to start a Demon Sorcerer meeting: Step 1) Find Po Kong, Step 2) Call everyone else over because it would take too long moving her at all

About the individual demons themselves (Most of this is reworded from the Wiki, but confirmed through watching their episodes):

Hsi Wu

Guerilla tactics for the win

Oddly patient, ya know, for someone so kind of childish

Becomes bored easily, so he has the knack to pick on his siblings and humans, with the latter being in more vicious and cruel ways

Aside from Shendu, Hsi Wu is the most bullied by his siblings (it’s because he’s small, isn’t it??)

Although he hates Shendu like the rest of his siblings, he is more “cold and apathetic“ towards him, with occasionally getting along, albeit extremely slight

High pitched noises hurts his ears

“His wings are sharp enough to cut through concrete“

Playful, although in a sadistic way

Simply flies to get where he needs to be

Likes to pester and make fun of Po Kong specifically

He just. Constantly smiles or has this big wide, toothy grin on his face all the time

Tso Lan

Sophisticated and more-or-less monotone sounding, he is always on alert with his senses. Despite this, his reaction timing is awful

Seemingly emotionless, his relaxed demeanor breaks when something doesn’t go his way. He does display some sarcasm, though

According to the wiki, he is very hard to please and never compliments anyone. What a stuck-up asshole

Along with Bai Tza and Xiao Fung, he is one of the more authoritative demon figures of the family

He apparently is one of the elder siblings

He is one of the most powerful sibling because he can bring the fucking Moon out of fucking orbit like it is nothing

He is Shantae He can control his hair, as well as float and glide gracefully

He can survive in space

He does indeed have legs, for he has been seen walking ONCE and we get to see his boots (Demon World (Part 2))

Shendu (My apologies, but not my regret, about if you are upset with me and my loathing for Shendu)

Selfish asshole who doesn’t like sharing, even with his family

Everybody Hates Shendu and Shendu Hates Everybody, and they all want each other dead, including Drago

Legit, he made a truce with Uncle, the mortal enemy, so he could horribly punish Drago. What a good father, amiright???

Can hold a grudge for, like, ever and hardly ever keep his promises. He also willingly admits he’s a traitorous bastard

Greedy and sophisticated asshole

Like, Jesus Christ, I wanted to give Shendu some slack because I did not want myself to be blinded by hatred for the guy, but my God is he the worst

“Shendu is not only devoid of compassion and sympathy for mortals, but also cares little to nothing for his family-members - this is displayed most markedly by how he left his siblings to rot in the Netherworld so he could rule the Earth himself.“

“Father and son's relationship was so toxic that Shendu even declared when Drago was being sucked into an interdimensional rift that his son deserved no less than to be trapped on the other side for his disloyalty.“

“Despite this, in response to Drago's apology and profuse pleading, Shendu visibly contemplated for a moment and hesitantly decided to try saving Drago from his fate (with a warning that his son must remember he is second to Shendu while they're on Earth), suggesting Shendu might genuinely care about his son to some extent (or at the very least, as close to caring about another being as Shendu is capable of).“ Um, not sure if I agree on the “genuinely care“ part, but totes on board with the “just wants him for a playing chip“ thought

Although he may be one of the most powerful demons of the family, that does not stop his siblings from actively going against him, which surprisingly makes Shendu submissive to them. Hmm...

He legit cares about no one but himself and that is no overstatement. I’m sorry to all those fangirls out there :V

Once ruled all of China

Shendu gets all whiny and high pitched, often stuttering, when expressing fear (which is every single time he gets a family reunion, which reminds me...)

He can be such a cheeky charmer

Although Shendu only cares about himself, he does seem pretty observant with recognizing what others do want, and of course uses that to his advantage. Hm, observant guy; no wonder he has fangirls

Tchang Zu

Not that talkative, even during fights, and rather only speaks when he feels the need to. However, when he does speak, it is rather loud and/or commanding

Hates when he isn’t respected, especially out of fear. He hates it so much he verbally explodes with anger when something personal to him is disrespected

Is willing to get down and dirty when reaching his (and his siblings’) goals

Is most likely the most colorful with his wording and admiring architecture

Really only attacks those he deems worthy (apparently there was a crowd of humans he only bothered scaring away and not attacking, even though they only saw him as entertainment?)

Become Goku Flies on a cloud to get where he needs to be

Oh my God he sits criss-cross-applesauce

Dai Gui

A little under average intelligence, but his brutality and strength make up for it, being an absolute bulldozer with anything that stands in his way

I must reinforce the “a little under average“ part because he does use the word “ludicrous,“ which is no caveman word

Violent and macabre imagery is his verbal forte

A big bully, since he loves throwing his authority around to those under him

Similar to Tchang Zu, Dai Gui is also willing to do dirty work, but mainly for himself than for others

Absolutely LOATHES “pretty“ things, like flowers

Sometimes talks in third person

Seems to prefer using his raw strength than his magical powers

Laughs at his own jokes

Persistent and dedicated. Nice!

Po Kong

Hungry Hungry Hippo; food is always on the mind, I wouldn’t be surprised if her want to rule the world was second on her list

Although she can and would eat anything, she is still picky

Her favorite flavor is human and salt

She knows French (ah yes, one of the “Love Languages”)

Po Kong likes to torment Hsi Wu

She can walk on her own

Most outspoken and dominating out of all the demons (”verged on superiority complex”)

Tends to deal with situations more realistically, as well as learning from past mistakes

Despite her intelligence, her hubris still gets the best of her

Along with Tso Lan and Xiao Fung, she is one of the more authoritative demon figures of the family

Apparently didn’t have humans living in her palace, which was Atlantis

Can levitate

Bunch of banshee screeches. Yeesh

Xiao Fung

Talkative and slimey diplomat that prefers debating with his siblings rather than arguing and fighting

Enjoys fights to the death between his underlings

Has an interest in drama and being a part of it

Seems to be the most cooperative and decent when working with humans. Cool!

Absolutely despises the Netherworld so much that a human prison is “paradise“ to him

Along with Bai Tza and Tso Lan, he is one of the more authoritative demon figures of the family

Need to get somewhere? No problem, just jettison your way with wind bellows from your lungs through your mouth

Although he does care for his siblings, it’s apparently not enough to “carry the burden“ of freeing them. Maybe it’s out of pure laziness? He does seem against doing active things (other than blowing wind, which only he can do)

Headcanon Stuff

Why do the Demon Sorcerers (besides Shendu) actually care for one another and agree to share the Earth between each other? I did say they do not possess the inherent-to-parent instinct, but I never said they were not social animals. The demons may not have the need to reproduce or want sexual anything, but they do posses the need/want to have company, which is kind of supported by the fact that canonically and in real life, Chinese demons mainly want to be praised and treated like gods. One cannot be considered a god, nor be praised in general, if one does not have beings beneath or beside them for confirmation

So, in a way, you could say they all desire some sort of reassurance of their importance.

Their relationship with humans is understandable, given from with what I just said, but the relationship between one another is a little more... deep? They obviously consider each other legit family, so they do care about one another (with some rough-play rivalry), but I think it’s less on the biological factor and more of the “fitting in“ factor.

Here’s my theory: Yes they are biologically family, but they did not view each other as such originally. After a while of being with one another, experiencing similarities, they became family-close in the metaphorical sense (in addition to the literal sense). This would explain how Shendu could have lost touch with them intimately while the others did not with each other, all the while still considering each other as family.

So, despite my whole push on the demons having little compassion, they do still harbor it; expressing it through family feelings. However, just like humans, there are always those who posses less compassion than the average person, and that would be Shendu. Shendu is the psychopath of the family-- the Black Sheep, if you will

In addition, theoretically, for all those fangirls and guys out there, they could love you like a precious pet. Just sayin’ (so, like, imagine the Demon Sorcerers having human pets and treating them like we do our own “Look how much of a chonkster my human is!” “Oh yeah? Well mine started getting ready for winter early; look at this massive boy-o!” I call my cats “stupid, stinky babies who I love” and then proceed to cuddle them all the time :V)

Fuck it, they have family movie/theatre nights because I find it endearing even though it may be Out of Character

To begin this next section, I want to state that the Demon Sorcerers are based on The Bagua. However, it is merely their elements that are the inspiration, not anything with the philosophy behind Bagua. However however, I will be looking into it and seeing what the Bagua has that still can reflect on the sorcerers. In other words, instead of basing the demons on the Bagua, I’ll be “basing“ the Bagua on the demons, if that makes sense.

Smol

Hsi Wu’s kingdom was probably located on the eastern coast of the USA

Judging by that teacher’s transformation with some of his chi, he may have “avian tendencies” with flying south for the winter and building nest-like structures

Probably the most convincing one to “befriend“ a human. Not because of his past friendship with Jade, but because people could relate to him of being picked on from size and lack of abilities, in addition to being more approachable because of his size and playfulness

His demeanor is mostly childlike, especially with how cruel children can be

Probably dislikes orchestral music, especially violins, flutes, the triangle, etc

Would most likely become a memester. Maybe.

“How do ya do, fellow kids?“

Likes to listen to music/singing while doing things and stuff. So, maybe he has to be distracted to some degree to be content, or he will be grumpy? (AD(H)D)

Real Talk: At one point in Tale of the Demon Tail (where Jade “befriends” Hsi Wu, or really his persona), Hsi Wu’s persona of being Jade’s friend actually disintegrates. Meaning, that “mask“ he put on to befriend Jade, at one point dissolved into an actual aspect of himself. So, when he answered Jade’s question of ‘are you going to the dance‘ or whatever, his initial response was that of an actual human-child Hsi Wu friend. While yes he was still acting, his initial response was almost unconscious, and then he realized what he was saying and said the other thing. I mean, it could have easily been “Nah, that’s stupid-- oh wait, that’s a good idea to get inside the house, actually,“ but that still follows the unconscious response action. What am I getting at here? Well, the interaction the two had proves that a clump of Hsi Wu’s personality does click with Jade. I’m not saying “I ship it“ or anything, what I’m saying is their personalities attract one another in general and could work between two different characters. As much as they seem to get along, there are other characteristics the two have that oppose one another and definitely shatters that friendship. So, Jade and Hsi Wu Being Friends? No; Some Personality Traits They Have Connect to One Another in General and Could Work Between? Yes.

The ye olde game of Chase is probably his favorite. Ya know, the game where you chase people around? Yeah, any game where he gets to chase/hunt his pray would be his favorite

Very similar to Shendu, Hsi Wu is one of the craftier folk of the family. However, unlike Shendu, creativity is his primary weapon which is, of course, used to make up for his size.

Similar to Xiao Fung, Hsi Wu is also one of the siblings that listens and pays attention the most. Their difference being is the information he learns is more for his selfish advantage than a “getting along” way.

Despite his dishonesty towards Jade, he is the most integral to himself. What I mean is, while yes all the demons follow their demon ethos, I believe Hsi Wu is the most true to himself and wouldn’t back down or reject something he is honestly interested in. However, probably because he knows how others know him, he can use this integrity to fool others into believing him with ease.

Hsi Wu is also probably the most inclined to have faith in others, but this DOES NOT mean he easily trusts people. What I’m saying is he may not easily trust others, but when he does, that faith in them is near unwavering

“The Beauty of Mischief”

Vamps

Tso Lan’s “kingdom“ was probably located on the Moon

Like all sophisticated assholes, he probably enjoys reading, but only books that deal with the fall of humanity and apocalypse stuff. Maybe even some space stuff, like the movie Interstellar? (Star Wars can kiss his ass, though)

Can posses dark matter? Because of his dark magic bolts and his affinity with gravity?

Doesn’t like being around people. His siblings are fine, but he rather not have company, judging by how he most likely spends his time on the Moon and rarely visits Earth. Antisocial personality disorder much??

Like we have stated earlier, Tso Lan never gives out compliments, for he is oh so difficult to please. He watches intently and is careful with his neutral wording, always sounding cold and cruel. However, despite his emotionless disposition, he does have some ugly colors. For example, he does get angry, especially when he is interrupted. Example two, he does take pleasure in tormenting his enemies. However, the good color of natural tranquility explains his seemingly “lack of emotion.”

If he can ever “give respect” to anyone, it’s probably so difficult to achieve it should be considered impossible. But hey, if you do somehow get his compliments, consider yourself special, home slice! In addition, it’s probably also highly unlikely to get him to laugh. Like, not even a chuckle. Maybe a sarcastic and flat “Ha,“ but nothing too intense.

He may not think of himself as king or an emperor, but he does view himself as some sort of higher metaphysical power, like a pontiff. In addition, he probably sees his position being the highest because of his throne on the Moon and his power over gravity (and maybe dark matter). Being used to this placement, he has distanced himself from just about every living thing, being untainted with normal, petty desires. Oh but being a demon has its drawbacks, for wanting is in the blood. Meaning, there are most likely some things out there that he may desire (Fanfic Writers, assemble!)

You want him him to talk dirty to you? Why yes, you should keep good hygiene and not be smelly. Real Talk, though, because of his lack of emotion words, he probably would have difficulty conveying emotion verbally. But hey, his voice and tones are enough to get anyone aroused :V

Might secretly like dancing, but only simple ones. Like, The Waltz would be the most active he’d like

Might also hum tunes every so often. Despite that, he still prefers silence over noise of any kind.

Probably had Drago made for that thing in Taoism where two beings can connect one another metaphysically, and if one is in trouble (like they died or something), the other can help out (and resurrect if need be). Or, he wanted someone that wasn’t human on his side because he’s sure as Hell his siblings won’t side with him

While Drago is way more hotheaded than his Dad, it seems Shendu is more likely to let a petty grudge get in the way of his goals

Oh God, oh fuq, it’s the Big Bad Dragon that wants everything for himself. He must know what his name translates to because oh boy does he feel entitled to his mighty sovereignty. Like, he lusts for power so much that no amount of trickery could mask his clarity of greed, ya know, like a “true” dragon. What he wants, he will obtain, with let nothing obstruct his path… other than a petty grudge. He’s so full of passion and thermal rage he sticks out like a sore thumb amongst his brethren. He would even sink to deep lows to get what he desires, even if it is heavily depending on humans, lying, cheating, and stealing from his own family, doing forbidden things with humans to have a “son” he only wants to use as a playing piece, and even bend reality to his liking.

However, I must say it is impressive and admirable how adaptive he is with every situation he finds himself in. He is rather courageous and would try anything to reach his goal, even if it is siding with the enemy. Shendu speaks in sophistication and eloquence, to which the latter trait he shares with Xiang Zu, despite his childlike outbursts of rage.

He may not be the most elementally powerful sibling, but he is The Best with knowledge about other magics like spells and potions.

He does perform the stereotype of “dragons are beasts of greed” exceptionally well, which, I can admit, is pretty hot, being a monster lover myself

Something I’ve noticed with his face is that he lacks lips, which are replaced with external tooth-like structures. This actually forces the creators to make him expressive through other means, like his eyes. Probably the best war strategist, everyone would hate playing Axis and Allies with him (He’d either play Russia for the size, or Germany because, well, you know)

(I’m just repeating what I’ve already stated, but whatever.) Similar to Tso Lan, Tchang Zu is careful with his words. However, what the latter does is speak only when he deems it appropriate, and sometimes with eloquence. When he does share his thoughts, it is in an assertive tone, making everyone stop and listen.

Tchang Zu is rarely ever caught off guard and surely plants himself where he stands, literally and figuratively. Despite his assertiveness, he does not come off as one of the most “authoritative” figures of the family. Instead, he’s more of an overseer and commander, making sure everything is falling in line under his, and his siblings’, iron-fist.

He is one of the few that would take the initiative when confronting a problem, which must be pretty terrifying for the opposition, seeing as how intimidating he is. Oof. Although he is on the shorter side, it does not bother him, for he knows his power is just as great as his siblings’.

Unlike his siblings, he wouldn’t be one of the “crafty” folk. What I mean is he isn’t a trickstery cuck like Hsi Wu and Shendu, but actually follows demon code and honor. I mean, not that “demon honor” is anything greater or equal to “human honor,” but the point still stands. What is “Demon Code and Honor” you ask? I dunno, watch Jackie Chan Adventures and observe demon culture yourself.

His demeanor may be slow and steady, but when he fights and flashes lightning, so much power and energy erupts from within. Majestic

Dai Gui’s Kingdom was probably located on the western coast of Europe, maybe more specifically Spain

Let’s take that “hates pretty things“ even further beyond. The words “delicate and innocent“ usually come to mind when the words “pretty“ and “flower“ are shown. So, I headcanon he hates weak and fragile looking things, as well as cute. The more petite and dainty something looks, the more of an urge to destroy rises up

Probably needs to hold down a vomit when seeing romance in any medium (lava vomit?)

Also probably iffy on crystals and gems. Like, they are shiny and pretty and are sometimes delicate, but man, the massive structures these things can form into is crazy.

Dai Gui reminds me of the colossi in Shadow of the Colossus when viewed just wandering around. We know he acts like a brute and hates petite things, and is quite aggressive when he fights, but there’s something about him that makes me think of some majestic creature that likes to walk around all alone in a wide open space. There is some beauty to his “monstrosity” and I feel like that’s overlooked by him always being described as, well, a brute.

Although not as intense as Shendu’s, rage can also be a common sight with Dai Gui, but it’s mostly from his non preferred environments. Also, similar to Tchang Zu, Dai Gui appreciates his structural surroundings, but has a more keen interest in its earthly variety. Mountains, canyons, plains, plateaus, mesas, volcanos, deserts, etc. would be his ideal territory. Like I have mentioned before, I feel like he’d often roam around his landscape, constantly fixing and changing anything he desired.

Even though he doesn’t like flowers and such, I do not think he hates nature in general. Maybe most of it, but not all. He may like huge ass trees for their size and might, grasslands (like savannas) because, although grass is all over, it still gives a vast emptiness of calmness, which deserts give a vast emptiness of despair.

Quick note, I’m not saying he’s artistic and elegant. What I am saying he isn’t just a dumb idiot caveman that just lusts for destruction, but rather actually has a hobby of shaping the earth. Yes, he might find the terrestrial variety of the earth interesting, but he isn’t all, like, “Hmm yes, insert fancy art words here;” he’s more like “Hm yes, me like; I shall do more over there” and then just… does it without any pre planning or anything.

Not only does he like creating earthly structures, but also destroying them. Have you ever built something so cool (or have just seen something so cool) with Legos or whatever, and for some reason want to destroy it just because ‘ha ha destruction fun’? Yeah, that’s him sometimes.

I’d also like to add he likes bugs. Not only eating them, but also admiring their earth shaping tendencies. Their structures won’t stop him from eating them all, but he does like to see what they make before the big snack

I bet he likes to sunbathe sometimes. Mmmmm, warm rocks always feel good. Cool rocks, too! (This also made me think of belly rubs… hmm)

Although she’d eat anything, Po Kong probably appreciates and remembers excellent meals. In addition, she probably could describe in detail of various tastes

Or, alternatively, since she eats so much all the food just blends together

Apparently, humans taste like chicken. So maybe, genetically create giant ass chickens, like in Skyrim, and feed her that if humans become scarce and/or too small for satisfaction

Probably the most difficult demon to satisfy, but not just because of hefty demands, but because she is practically the personification of gluttony. Like, I’m sure she can and will eat anything she wants, even inorganic things. She likes it? Nom. She hates it? Nom. She will never be fulfilled until she has consumed all… or until she explodes or whatever. I’m being dramatic.

Luckily, she is not picky. Unluckily, she is also picky. I guess it just depends on her hunger mood. One day, she may want just a bunch of salty snacks, likes chips and fries, and on another day she may want a giant bundt cake filled with gooey human flesh and blood.

Legit though, her kingdom/empire would be the number one food place in the entire world, with having the largest kitchen and all the best cooks (ha ha, like a collection. You could say she would have Too Many Cooks, but “too many” doesn’t exist in Po Kong World!). She would have food critics to make sure the meals she really wants to enjoy taste wonderful. Dude, like, imagine Gordon Ramsay and Guy Fieri at her command. She’d laugh her ass off with Ramsay yelling at people and Fieri with all of his antics; they’d be her favorite little humans. Funny, they’d both still be practically doing the job they do now, just being ordered around by a tyrannical demon who also likes food.

Has no interest in video games and picture shows, but does have the interest in the unique food that appears in them and of course demands them to be made for her.

To get on her “good side” is to be absolutely loyal to her and her eating habits. Ya gotta make the best meals, serve them in delightful ways (she actually doesn’t care about any fancy stuff, but appreciates the effort if done right).

I bet she likes getting spoiled. I mean, yeah, all the demons would want gifts rained down upon them, but they wouldn’t express as much glee as Po Kong would. She’d probably sound condescending half the time, but hey, at least she’s happy and smiles. Gotta give her big gifts though. Go big or go home, folks.

Just like us folk, she prefers Maximum Comfort when eating. That means sitting in her favorite chair, eating from her favorite dish, and watching her favorite entertainment pieces.

Bai Tza’s kingdom is factually Atlantis, but in the JCA universe, Atlantis might be close to the southern coast of Europe in the Mediterranean Sea

She’d be the one initially planning family get-togethers

Do I dare say I could imagine her being a dominatrix? Yeah sure

Similar to Tso Lan, she has/had an isolated kingdom away from humanity, but unlike her brother she most likely had subjects, which lived coastal in southern and south-east Europe, Northern Africa, and the Middle-East. Every civilization took a part in building her castle and its decor, but soon after it was complete, she sank it to the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, never to be gazed upon with mortal eyes ever again.

Although she can survive in either, Bai Tza prefers warm and salty waters over cool and fresh waters.

Because of her unique bond with water, which literally has her able to morph to and fro between a liquid and solid state, she probably traveled and oversought numerous locations around the world, with any place being close to warm and salty seas. Did she hold dominion over them? Maybe, seeing as how just the Mediterranean Sea and most of its surrounding land is quite small for a kingdom when compared to her siblings’ territories.

Bai Tza may not be one of the most powerful siblings, but she is the most feared. She’s able to restrain herself when angry, she thinks outside the box when confronting obstacles, and her dynamism makes her tricky to confront. She is straightforward, blunt, and has a wicked and sharp tongue. Like stated before, she is one of the more outspoken relatives, being very dominant in every activity she takes part in. Wouldn’t surprise me if she was a control freak. However, enjoying her power so much leads her to be arrogant, making her hubris the number one weakness.

Bai Tza is probably the most cruel because she actively thinks about the damage she can cause instead of just doing it. Despite her cruelty, she isn’t heartless; she may in fact be the one that cares about her family the most, with having the most hatred for Shendu because of his betrayal to said family. On a side note with Drago, she probably rejects him mostly for his differences than his relation with Shendu, but of course the latter still counts. So, welcoming those into her tight personal circle would be a ‘no.’

Despite her evilness, she can and will compliment things that amuse her, and being super protective of them like personal property.

Would drown ships with anti-demon supporting humans on them, as well as anyone who enters her territory without permission. Probably could be convinced with gifts, but they better be good.

Theoretically could forgive past mistakes, but they must be made up with something equal or greater amount to said mistake.

Likes to wear jewelry, especially gold.

“The Beauty of Absolution“

Xiao Fung’s kingdom was probably located in Latin America

One of the smarter siblings, Xiao Fung prefers to discuss and debate over physically fighting. Not sure why, but maybe because he doesn’t view physical fighting as something “high ups” do; all of the dirty work is for the peasants beneath them. However, if forced and there being no other way, he would partake.

Knows the art of conversation quite well and usually dishes out the best conversations. He may not be eloquent like Tchang Zu, or very particular with his words like Tso Lan, but damn can he keep a conversation going if need be. It wouldn’t surprise me if he’d yak with others if he’s bored. Maybe try talking some existential stuff with him; that’d be neat. Or keep asking ‘why’ like an annoying child, and he’d probably be tricked into answering each one, with getting annoyed more and more the longer it all goes on.

Despite his laziness, he still would do activities that require his assistance, as long as it’s something only he can do. If there is someone else available, he’ll leave it to them.

Xiao Fung is probably one of the more “approachable” demons, being how he doesn’t immediately give off “fear and respect me or die” vibes. He’s still intimidating, but to those with any amount of courage could muster up to confront him. Ya know, if it isn’t anything personal to him, then in that case you’d be the one telling everyone how terrifying he is, also, ya know, if he lets you go back to your village.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he had decision making issues when it comes to something he likes vs something useful/”right”

If a human went up to him and made a deal, he most likely would take it as long as he gets something in return that he wants, as well as the odds being in his favor.

Human antics are strange and insignificant, but they are still intriguing to him and would converse about it. Just don’t think you’d make him change his opinion on us; that won’t happen, fo sho.

The most forgiving and patient of the family, although it may not be by much. It most likely stems from his diplomatic character, being willing to discuss situations, even thoughts he leans more against. It’s really the subjects she is 100% not on board with he will not discuss, but something around 70%-60% he’d be more willing to listen to. Whether he actually agrees with you and is not just listening for amusement is another story.

Really enjoys music, favoring well put together orchestral.

Could hold some serious long notes, and probably sing in all sorts of keys (Dude. Singing bass)

Dude probably loves board games like chess.

Tchang Zu and him probably get along well because of shared interests in theatre and strategy games.

Would be the one to bring up topics to get everyone arguing if things got boring, like politics. In addition, he would also bring up playing the “Friendship Ender” games we all know and love, like Uno and Monopoly.

Theoretically, because it is stated that the Twelves Talismans are physical manifestations/vessels of Shendu’s powers, the other eight sorcerers (this includes Drago) could have their own Twelves Talismans

Apparently, killing/destroying a demon causes the disruption of balance within the universe, causing a “stronger evil“ to manifest and fill that “wound.“ So, again, theoretically, could a “stronger good“ happen as well if a situation summons/calls for it??

Sadly, according to Shendu, the all chi-absorption thing Drago did at the end of Season 5 is irreversible. So, canonically, Drago is technically forever stuck as a Cthulhu abomination. I am forever sad. Like, yeah I’m a terato lover, but I really prefer Drago as normal :’( However, Shendu answered to a human using a man-made chi spell. What if the actual Demon Sorcerers did a chi spell, to which apparently is conductible without external means? Could they be powerful enough to reverse it if all of them worked together???

Both original stories, and one-shots or personal fics that are associated with already created media!! Writing character backstories and personalities and stuff is also fun too! I've even made my own fictional world with a full fledged backstory n everything! It's very fun to think about. I'm a day dreamer!!! Yea remember when I said I write stories? I day dream abt potential stories even more. Mmm daydream world so nice so warm so fun I read aswell!! Mostly fantasy books, or stories where animals are the protagonists. Think Warrior Cats. But my favorite book series has got to be Guardians of Ga'Hoole. Fantasy owl books, anyway! X Readers are also things I enjoy reading :) Again, s I m p Also gaming!!! Is something fun I do sometimes!!! Although it's usually Genshin Impact, or Wii Sports/Resort w// my little sister. Oh, also pokemon! I rlly like Primarina, Vaporeon, Sylveon and Vulpix/Ninetails! I absolutely adore sweet foods, and baking is smthn I'm def interested in! Don't like foods w// weird textures though, like beans or mashed potatoes. Also I. Love spice so much.
