every time a dentist tries to helpfully give me Basic Hygiene Tips it makes me want to give up entirely tbh. i brush twice a day and use a special mouthwash and floss every night and own a nice tongue scraper and what i get for my trouble is fillings and root canals and reminders to floss, the same thing i got in my wayward youth of sleeping all day and brushing once a week. why am i even bothering.

Not-sure-how-popular opinion, but. I disagree w the people who say "jason should go back to being the cunning and powerful villain he was in utrh and he should make bruce question things BUT at the end jason should be wrong." The first part, sure, but making him an all-out villain is kinda meh. But having Jason be wrong? No. In fact I think Jason being wrong ruins his whole thing. The reason Jason's return and the utrh confrontatiom hit so hard is because Jason is right lol. Maybe not abt the crime plot of utrh but abt joker stuff?? Hes like %100 right. honestly there's a lot of sophie's choice questions within the batfam for tim that are super interesting to me because. while tim would hate himself for having to make a sophie's choice and have to sacrifice someone, he has a very clear cut priority order imo that's like dick -> bruce -> steph -> helena -> babs -> damian...so on and so forth that wouldn't make the decision as difficult as it could be.

however. to me tim's most *interesting* sophie's choice scenerios would come from the idea of a batfam vs his dad. what if something happened while his dad were still alive and he had to choice between saving dick or jack. or bruce and jack. what if. what if.

After Azran Legacy Descole was left with a lot of clothes, personal items, and various souvenir trinkets left behind by the other former passengers of the Bostonious none of which was ever properly retrieved due to the groups sudden parting.

Rather than throwing it all out Descole has been trying to covertly return all items back to their original owners and because it’s Descole he’s probably returning the objects and whatnot in the most complicated way possible over a period of time.

Auroras stuff in particular remains safely stored in a box on the Bostonious.

watched latest tom scott video (about a cryonics facility) and was so taken aback by him keeping on really strongly saying humans should be working to “defeat death”.. like girl it is just not happening.

(humans wont defeat death the same way we wont conquer chomolungma or mars or the ocean. we will die because we're alive like every other animal and all the stars ever, and fighting that feels so ignorant and also prevents actual action and discussion of rights as humans after death , imo. and death rights and normalising of death and mourning are actually so important. because otherwise cultures' (western, often the US in specific) fear of death leads to nonsense like people get buried in reinforced caskets and embalmed with chemicals that’ll poison the soil but wont stop you rotting)

Cause the thing with this version of Normal, I think, is that the situation to create it is so specific; and in a way that I've never thought about before, for a narrative? I'm sure it exists somewhere, because what story framework doesn't already exist somewhere but like.

this version of Normal only happens in a world where all 4 anchors are broken with violence and not a single other person is questioning that decision by the end. (which I don't think is going to happen! for the record!) in this world, Normal presents himself as a last bastion of empathy, but where in any other story that would look like a shining knight with their Chosen One sword and shield and righteous strength, in this story it looks like a kid ready to turn into an eldritch monster because the eldritch monster is the only other creature he can find that makes any sense to him. a character who, written in words, is a paragon hero who's virtues refuse to crumble. but because of the Ao3 CSS skin of the world he's in, he gets all the style and flair and trappings of a villain.

(which, again, I don't have reason at the time of this writing to think that this situation would happen; that there isn't going to be at least one other person on Normal's side. It's all but impossible to predict any of these kids and I think they all have good hearts, even Scary. for thoughts on where this AU would end up, anyone can obviously take it anywhere but I know the version I would make would have a happy ending (I am allergic to writing tragedies, sue me). I guess it would be a story where finally snapping and letting out some Oak Anger and not apologizing (because while it's not okay to be cruel it is okay to be angry) is what gets characters to come to terms with each other and better understand each other and meet each other in the middle and even come to terms with themselves and what version of expressing themselves makes them happy and comfortable and best able to love themselves and the people around them.

all of that admittedly wrapped in a gift box with the catharsis of a character saying "I'm not okay with how you're treating me" in a very badass fashion, as we all wish to do one day.

session 5 for both scott and jimmy mirror each other in that they’re dedicated to powering up and preparing. scott gets a full set of protection IV diamond armor together with 30 diamonds in the enderchest to spare. jimmy, however, spends the entire episode trying to get good enchants on his iron set in a way that reminds me of a small bird flying into a window over and over again
