It's always going to be him
Navigation / SPN Masterlist
Crowley x Male Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For over a century you and Crowley had been anything known to man. The both of you started your relationship as friends, then he had don't something and it caused you to absolutely hate one another. Then after years of not speaking you found your way back to each other and he somehow managed to worm his way into your heart and the two of you became lovers.
The both of you have had your moments where you were so angry with each other and you didn't speak for a while. The longest time was about a year but that is like nothing when you have lived for as long as you have.
Crowley had never apologized to you. When you would leave his place and go stay somewhere else. Just to be away from him for a while. He would always send someone to you, whether it be one of his hellhounds or demons. Crowley could never be bothered to come to you to apologize. He was too "busy" and to proud.
All those times that he had sent someone you always went back. Love was a very powerful feeling and you would have done anything for him. You knew he didn't feel for you as strongly as you felt for him but. There's always someone who falls for the other more than they do. One fell first and one fell harder right?
You always came back and you never thought that there would be a time where you wouldn't.
When Crowley had finally met the Winchester boys you hadn't thought too much about it. You told him that he could help out every now and then when they asked for him but that you wanted to stay out of any shit they were trying to do.
As time went on though it had become more of a reoccurring thing. They would call Crowley as a last resort and he would drop everything to go to them. Everything had been fine because he went when they asked. But then he started looking for reasons to help them or get caught up in whatever they were doing. That's when it started to piss you off.
He would always drop everything and that unfortunately also meant you too. You could be in the middle of watching a movie or having a chat and he would disappear. So Today you had decided to see if there was a way you could get him to stay.
The both of you were in the living room talking. He was sitting on his "throne" while you were standing beside him. It was pleasant conversation for once so you were enjoying yourself. You knew however that he was thinking about something else. After all these years you had learned and noticed everything about him. That's what made you so upset. Is that he couldn't hide anything from you even when you wished he would.
Then right in the middle of your sentence his phone rang. He held up his finger to silence you silently as he put the phone up to his ear. "Hello Moose" The nickname rolled off his tongue in his accent.
When was the last time he called you a cute nickname, or anything other than your name. How come Dean fucking Winchester gets all his time. Even when he doesn't want it, even when Dean hates Crowley.
Of course it was him. Its always been Dean, ever since they met. Why couldn't he realize that you were right in front of him. Loving him for decades, while Dean was using him. That's all Dean ever did.
What happens next is something you expected. Its what always happens when one of the boys call. Crowley will start to stand up and brush himself off as if he has to look prim and fucking proper. You honestly don't even know if he knows he does it. Then he will be off.
This time however you don't let him leave without a kiss. Just wanting to see if it would get him to stay. So you pull him in by his arm and place a kiss against his lips. His hand goes to your waist for just a moment before he pulls away and gives you a look that says "we will talk later." Looking at him you go to speak and he shuts you up by speaking first. "I have important things to do. You understand" Then he dissapears.
Would there be a later though you wonder. You have spent so much time of your life waiting. Waiting for him to love you like he once did but you have come to realize that it wont happen. And this had been the final blow. He was going to lose you
You walk into your shared room and grab a suitcase filling it with all your clothes. The amount of things you had here were minimal the rest of your things were at your home that you made sure no one knew about. As you look through your closet you see the ugly Christmas sweater that he had given you to wear one day years back.
It was a very windy day in the middle of winter and you had told him you didn't need a jacket because you loved this kind of weather. He of course had told you to bring something just in case but you were stubborn and hadn't listened. So when you ended up shivering and trying to hide the fact from him he had laughed and said "i told you so" while putting the sweater on you.
Crowley used to be so sweet to you. However after so long of being treated like nothing you had to leave. As you walked out of the room one of his demons came up to you asking where you were headed and all you replied was "home, im going home"
When you get to the cottage you had in the middle of the woods it was empty except for the furniture you had in it. It was a beautiful place and as you enter the home you feel your body relax as you unpack your things and lay down on your bed closing your eyes.
The emotions rushing through you were a lot to take so you just took this time to really process what you were feeling.
-----
The past week you had been living at your home. Waking up with the sun and resting when the stars came out. It was peaceful, you felt at ease more at ease than you had in a long time.
You should have known that this peace and quiet wouldn't last forever because in the middle of the afternoon there was a knock on your door. No one knew where you were so you weren't sure what to expect.
As you walk to the door you are on high alert but when you open it a sigh escapes you. "Crowley"
He is standing there with his hands in his pockets looking neutral just like he always did. Never wanting to show any emotion which always frustrated you because you always wanted something from him. Let you know he cares. You open your mouth to speak but he beats you to it. "what are you doing here?"
Leaning against the door you scoff "I could ask you the same. Surprised your not with your lovely moose and squirrel" the tone of your voice gave everything away and that's exactly why the man in front of you rolls his eyes. "is this what this is about?"
The way that he is acting as if this hasn't been bothering you for moths now and that it means nothing is what sets you over the edge. "Yes Crowley why cant you see that! It has been affecting us for almost a year now."
"Why does it bother you so much! I've explained to you that they need me to help them. I'm here when they don't need me" He says this as if its not his fault. As if he is the worlds best boyfriend.
At these words you run a hand through your hair pushing it from your eyes. Trying to maintain your composure but your voice is what gives you away as it breaks. "what about me Crowley? I needed you, and hell when you were there its like you were always thinking about when the next time your phone would ring. Its like you don't see me anymore. I'm just someone that you knew would always be there for you and I don't want to anymore. Not after you left me on our anniversary and I didn't receive a text or a call. But i bet you and Dean had time to go out and drink"
He knew you were right because as soon as you bring up him having a drink or two with Dean he froze. "that's what I thought. I'm not Dean and I will never be able to be him. So I'm done Crowley. Please leave and do not come back"
There was silence for a while and he gives you a look as if he wants to say something more. Wants to say anything to get you to come home. And there's a part of you that wants him too. Even when you knew it would break you but it would means he felt something. So when he chose silence he gave you a nod and vanished.
Leaving you standing there with the door open just looking at the place he was just standing. Not bothering to move for a moment just wanting to hold onto this feeling for just a moment longer. "goodbye Crowley" Shutting your door you swore to yourself you would not think about him again. Wouldn't let him take up any more of your time.

Would love to hear more about the Supernatural that exists on tumblr lol
i'm not nearly the most qualified person to ask about this but i'll do my best.
spn is like a behemoth of inconsistencies in quality, tone and message. it has legitimately incredible moments, characters and concepts and then also some of the worst episodes of television you've ever seen in your life. it went on for 15 years and had a million different writers, plots, characters and unknown behind-the-scenes influences which we can only hope to someday begin to have a real understanding of. the end product is absolutely fascinating for those reasons.
the spn that exists on television thinks that it is a show about the strengths of traditional masculinity, the value of free will and beauty of americana. but i don't think it's unfair to say it's largely incompetent, unintelligent, and has terrible memory - which means that it often ends up saying exactly the opposite of what it's trying to (dean's queerness is a classic example of this - the more the show tries to show him as a masculine straight guy, the more closeted and miserable he ends up reading).
the spn that exists on tumblr however knows that it is about the failings of traditional masculinity, the death of free will and the horror of americana. it's the same show but through a different, more critical and thoughtful lens that actually takes the entirety of the text into account and engages with it mostly earnestly but on its own terms. the spn fandom as it exists right now is probably the most transformative fandom i've ever encountered, literally creating diamonds from dirt.
spn tumblr is also really really funny

J2 Main Panel Minncon 2023
I put this psa in the post for the Gold panel but I know some see one post and not the other so before we get into this panel quick reminder that this con took place while the actor’s union, SAG-AFTRA, is on strike. This means the boys cannot directly talk about any past, present, or future projects. But for the sake of clarity I will be referring to projects the boys are talking about by name.
Jared says that he got chills coming out onto the stage, and Jensen goes "What?" and immediately puts his hand on Jared's forehead to check on him, it's so sweet ❤️
Jared also comments that he had a Juicy Lucy in about 3 mins. He was running behind schedule so he only had like 8 mins to get something to eat but he wanted one so badly that he was like challenge accepted. I had never heard of a Juicy Lucy before so I had to look up what it is, it's a cheese-stuffed burger so instead of there being cheese on top of the burger it's stuffed inside of the patty. I didn't know this was a Minneapolis invention so you learn something new every day.
Anyways, poor Jensen didn't know Jared's burger had cheese inside so he ordered a chicken club sandwich instead and then was like 'this sucks' when he realized it, also, someone screamed Texas but Jared initially thinks they said Jensen and he says he likes both Texas and Jensen.
When the boys were asking fans if this was their first con furries come up in the conversation so Jared asks Jensen what his furry costume would be and he replies squirrel very quickly. He asks Jared what his would be and Jared replies bear cause no one messes with a bear then he says he rather be a normal happy bear like Paddington.
Jensen mentions that he and Jared were having a conversation earlier where he asked Jared if he had to choose to be trapped in a room with an alligator, a lion, a silverback gorilla, or a bear to put them in order from the least to no thank you. Jared's ranking went: Alligator because even though they were around 200 million years before the T-rex you can fight them, or as he phrased it you can "give it a big ole bear hug". Then the silverback because they're not carnivores and when they display aggression it's to scare someone away so if the gorilla displayed aggression he would just move to the corner of the room showing he's not a threat. He surprised himself by his third choice by picking bear cause he feels like with a bear there's a possibility that you can hug. And then lions are an absolute no.
Getting into the questions, what's it like coming out to the crowd? Do they get nervous?
For Jared, they've probably done like 200 of these but he just got chills going on the stage. He has sat in the fan seats, not for an SPN con but he loves fandom, he's part of the SPN fandom, and it's really cool. It's so special, and he and Jensen have had many conversations about how neat it is that they're a part of something that has inspired friendships and relationships, and people are traveling and hanging out and getting to see new cities, and they're getting to see new cities. And it was 105 degrees in Texas so he's really happy to be at the con instead but it's really special.
Jensen says there's always a little moment. There's a little ramp in the back and just before they walk up on stage and Billy starts his guitar solo he and Jared fist bump and let's do a show because that's what they do, they wanna put on a show and make this a fun time. So it's still very exciting and it's a thrill to go there and share in the energy, it's a wild exchange of energy that they get to experience both there and here and he feels it's something that will never lose its luster. x
If they could be a creature or a monster, what would they choose to be, and why?
Jared immediately answers shapeshifter, and that he would shapeshift into Jensen and do some naughty shit on camera. No comment 😏
Jensen isn't sure what to answer and asks the fan what they would be and they say Jared's answer is the right one, shapeshifter, so then he says shapeshifter and Jared says it's like he's copying off a test 😂
Jensen asks him if he used to copy when he was a kid, Jared replies that he's sure he did but probably not much he was a nerd but he does believe people copied off of him. x
What is the worst gift they've ever received and they had to lie about liking it?
Jensen jokingly replies everything his kids draw him.
Jared answers that one time he was given an animal which was very sweet but he was very young, he was like 19, and it was a cat. He loves cats, he prefers dogs, but he loves cats but he thinks the person who gave him the gift kind of assumed he was more responsible than he was, and when he was told how much work it was to care for them he was like this sucks. He tries to joke that luckily the cat got run over but no the cat lived a big life which I certainly hope is true. But, in his opinion, any gift that gives somebody too much responsibility, you're just giving them another job. I agree with him, don't gift people pets or anything that's too much work.
Jensen says he always accepts gifts graciously but then to the trash they go. His brother gave his son a model set, something you put together that's like 1200 pieces and he was not happy about that but seriously if anybody gets him a gift he's happy to receive it whatever it is, even if it looks like garbage. Then he remembers and shares the story about how one time they had been filming in a hobby shop and he bought two drones they had that were around 1k, one for him and one for Jared. So he goes back to set, and he's playing with his, and Jared's like 'that's awesome' so he tells him that his is in his (Jared's) trailer and Jared runs to get it, charges it, starts to play with it....and immediately crashes it on the ground.
Jared explains that he was really excited to use the drone but didn't read the instructions so he didn't know it came with a toggle kill switch and he pushed it.
Jensen says the reason he thought Jared could handle it is because they also bought helicopters one time that were remote-controlled and they strapped Roman candles to them and lit them up to try and shoot each other down. Jared says he has a video of it! Also, they share that at one point they stopped shooting at the helicopters and started shooting at each other. x
A couple years ago, Zak Bagans, the host of Ghost Adventures, was asked on twitter if he would ever have j2 on the show and he basically replied that he didn't think the boys could handle the real thing. What would their response be to that, and would they go if they were invited to be on the show?
Jared says he would go in a second just because he wants to go anyways but number 2 he'll kick Zak's little ass on camera. Jared please do the dude is allegedly a douche.
Jensen says what they did on SPN for 15 years was make-believe...and what he does on that show is also make-believe. So that's what he thinks about that. I love these men!!! x
How does the parallel of them always staying in hotels and motels and such on the show, and them doing these cons feel?
Jared replies that it's impossible to put into words, and he doesn't think either of them could really replicate it again, but so much of what happened when they were working together on SPN for so long coincided with what they were also going through personally in some way, shape or form including the building of the SPN family. There were so many chips that fell in the right spot or puzzle pieces that landed where they were supposed to go and part of that was getting used to traveling, and obviously they don't risk their lives, or die and come back, or get possessed and all that stuff but they sacrifice as much as they can and they take it seriously. We see them being goofy cause it's fun to see the fans and laugh but they miss their fam and their kids and their homes, but it feels good to be there so he feels there is a parallel- and what's funny for him is that his son Shep is kind of the emotional one like he was when he was a kid, and for years it was weird when he was home but now since he's been home so much especially because of the strike Shep doesn't understand why he has a suitcase so there's a degree of understanding that if you wanna make a difference in the world it takes some sacrifice.
Jensen answers there's a little bit of a difference in that when they were filming all those different scenes they were all in the same city and they were going back home and sleeping in the same bed every night- at which point Jared decides to "clarify" not with each other.....okay then 👀
Jensen continues that going on cons is truly on the road, they kind of joke around about it being a traveling circus. Every few weeks they meet up in a new city and put on a show, so this does feel more like what the brothers would have to go through as opposed to filming it because they'd go on the same sound stage, different set, same trailer, same apartment rinse and repeat. So this feels like a traveling band of brothers and sisters and it's awesome but like Jared said- his oldest when he was literally walking out the door she was in his arms going 'please don't go' and he quips that he went "you're 10 years old grow up". He will say this, without them leaving he wouldn't see how much his daughter misses him and loves him and hates to see him go so he cherishes that but it's definitely a bit of a sacrifice to do it. But when things are worth sacrificing for, you do it. x
How do they feel about licorice? Do they think it tastes like dirt or chewy goodness?
Jared is a Twizzlers over Red Vines kinda guy but also an anything on the face of the planet including dog feces over licorice allsorts, licorice allsorts should not exist.
Jensen says he couldn't stand the flavor of black licorice but somewhere along the line maybe 10 or 15 years ago he ventured to New Orleans and had a cocktail there called a Sazerac. One of the ingredients in a sazerac is absinthe and absinthe has a very similar flavor profile to black licorice which is anise and all of a sudden he liked that flavor. And now, they have this big jar of jelly bellies in the kitchen but he goes through and picks out the black ones so he has found that he now likes the flavor of black licorice. x
Can they talk a bit about the strike?
The fan mentions Jensen sending a pie truck to the SPN strike line that happened, but he clarifies that Kripke is the one who got it and he just gave him some extra credit for it.
Jared says he doesn't have any secrets about the strike that aren't public. The mediators and the attorneys on both sides are all under NDA's and he doesn't know Fran Drescher outside of The Nanny (and he does the laugh!) so it's not like she's giving him secrets off the record but one of the things that concerns him about what appears to be the situation that they're in is it doesn't give young writers and young actors and actresses the chance to grow and build around experts. He started out as a co-star, he guest starred on ER then he guest starred on Gilmore Girls and you grow like in taekwondo or karate, and if you say no one's allowed here but black belts then once the black belts move on you'll have no more black belts cause you need the white belts and the brown belts and so on there to learn. So removing opportunities for people to learn and grow, which he was very fortunate and he thinks Jensen was as well, to learn from people who have decades of experience he's hoping that it doesn't go there; he knows AI is dangerous, he thinks it's existential, when they shoot it's on a memory card so they'll film something for an hour and it's all ones and zeros so all they need is something to process those ones and zeros that will look like him and sound like him but it won't be him. He stands by the people who are still white belts trying to earn their black belts someday and he thinks in that analogy he and Jensen are black belts but his point is they had the chance to learn from hundreds of black belts and he hopes that's something that continues.
Jensen says there are a lot of different elements to the negotiations and stuff and there's been some headway in certain aspects but also massive roadblocks with others. But it's essentially targeting pretty much the streamers, Apple, Hulu, all of those that are essentially making content without a contract that reflects what their contracts with major studios and broadcasts would be, and it was never established but now that these platforms are clearly working those type of contracts need to be put into place not only because of AI but another element is of residual paychecks or residuals of other stuff. Somebody who is a guest star or does an episode or two or three of a show they just get bought out and that's it, no more so for actors or writers who are coming up in the industry they count on the money that comes in from residuals to weather the dry patches of work cause you're not always working. The industry is feast or famine and during those famine times you rely on what you did previously to get you through to the next job but that doesn't really exist anymore with the streamers so they're fighting for a pay model to help with that; they're not saying they need more raise the ceiling or asking for tons of money, they're not asking for much but there's a loophole right now were they don't have it established, and the studios are like 'we're not giving it to you' and they're like 'well, you have to' and the studios are like 'well, we're not going to' and so they went 'well, I'm not going to work'.
And he would say we all largely benefit from unions whether or not you're a part of one, it's the reason we have 5 day work weeks, 9 to 5's, vacations, maternity leaves a lot of this stuff has been negotiated with unions at the base core of them so we've all benefitted in some way or another from unions so if they don't do their job then they don't get a deal and they're just asking for a fair deal. If they can't get that, unfortunately, that's when you find yourself in situations like this and none of them want to be on strike this isn't fun for anybody it's not just the writers and the actors everybody is suffering because of it there are so many people affected by this that it's breaking his heart and he wishes they could come to a fair deal and hopefully they will but he doesn't know what that looks like or when it will be. I paraphrased a lot of what he said but give it a listen cause it's so well phrased 👏
If they could build the ultimate sandwich what would be on it?
Jensen says he does build the ultimate sandwich. He gets either a fresh bagel or a Portuguese bun, does a spread of siracha, layers some extra crispy bacon, a fried egg, a nice thick tomato, crispy hash brown, and pepper jack cheese.
Before he answers the question he looks at Jared and Jared's reaction lets me know he already knew what Jensen was going to say.
Jared quips that's the next episode of The Bear. Then he says that for him he thinks it's more about timing because you wanna do it during low tide, not high tide or it'll wash it away, and when I tell y'all I was so confused about what the hell this man was talking about then I realized he was making a dad joke about SAND WITCHES 🤦‍♀️
He doesn't know what to answer he goes meat, mustard, hot, Portuguese buns then changes it to Italian buns and says he has to say that cause he's married to an Italian and I love Jensen's expression of wtf.
His favorite sandwich was at a place called Artisan Cheese Gallery, he didn't build it but it was a Spanish turkey, and there's a book, Tom Colicchio's sandwich book and he doesn't remember the name of it but they've been making one of the sandwiches in there for years and it's heated in a waffle press almost with red peppers, cheese, you can choose your meat they use turkey, a little aioli but for him a proper sandwich is toasty and brown.
Jensen says he's the type of guy who puts potato chips or French fries in the sandwich cause it gives it a little crunch. Jared shakes his head no and says you can also take a bite of the sandwich and then put a chip in your mouth but Jensen says it's not the same. I agree with him, it's not the same. x
And to wrap up the panel, what is something that is universally loved but they don't like?
Jensen says pickles. Jared asks what about mushrooms or onions, and he replies that he doesn't like mushrooms or fruit on his pizza.
Jared doesn't like olives if there's a little slice of olive on his pizza that is hidden all he can taste is olive. He also doesn't love chocolate, he doesn't think he's ever bought chocolate if it's around he'll snack on it if he's bored but he's not a chocolate guy, he doesn't like fruit on desserts like strawberry cheesecake, and he also doesn't like peanut butter cookies. x

God same about Jensen!
He clearly had some insight into Dean that came out intermittently I just thought it was Instincts he had because he'd internalised Dean so much but didn't actually understand what he was saying, stuck in ol' "oh haha Dean is a stupid repressed child who only likes guns" mindset
Turns out WE'RE the fools and Jensen's been playing us ALL
when do you think he took up plans to take over SPN himself? I honestly think it's when they decided to end SPN at S15 and talks about how they should end the story were going on and they had to send him to KRIPKE of all people
Yeah its wild. I would love for him (with Misha's help) to write a tell all book one day.
I feel like jackles has been a far better actor than we all gave him credit for. He has always been very switched on to fandom, he knew about the warring sides, the hate and the bullshit, and I reckon he was being told for years by his bosses to always keep all sides of fandom happy and to play his damn role at all times (ironically just like how Chuck ordered Dean to play his role - life imitates art too often in this fucking show its almost scary). Hence why he's insights into Dean often came across contradictory and odd. Sometimes he had beautiful accurate insights which make total sense, and other times (usually in j2 panels) he'd regress back to the "haha dean just likes guns and girls like a macho man should".
We will never truly know what went on behind the scenes following the moment j2m announced s15 was the end (unless jackles writes that book) so its hard to truly speculate when jackles decided to take things into his own hands, but I also believe it was around about the time they planned the finale and everyone was kissing jarpiss's asshole and jackles was left in the cold to stare down a shitty death scene he didnt agree with. Going to kripke was prob the final straw for him.
He was gaslit into thinking that ending was okay, and whenever he tried to question it he was told to sit down shut up and do what he was told, all the while watching his manchild tantrum throwing drama queen of a costar get his dick sucked by the entire production team for coughing a few times and puffing out his chest and singing the praises of a finale that pushed the spotlight firmly on him and his cop propaganda show.
So yeah, jackles was done dirty, and so he became That Bitch and started making plans. He had the production company set up only days after the finale aired, turned off his social media and refused to be involved in any spn finale celebratory CW PR (absolute King Shit)
I think he started making calls before they even finished filming. Dean wasnt even cold on the ground before The Winchesters had been dreamed up as a way to bring him back. Jackles rare few post finale SM posts all alluded to Dean returning again. He knew what he was doing.
At the same time he was ghosting the manchild, and planning to move his family to Colorado to get away from him. After SPN finally wrapped in mid 2020, him and Jarpiss went their separate ways. They barely spoke after that. Jackles was setting in motion all his plans to fix everything that he considered a personal afront to him (because he is absolutely deranged and literally possessed by the ghost of Dean Winchester) and those plans certainly involve fixing the ending somehow - in a way that isnt obvious no doubt, because he still has to be careful and at least pretend like he respects the ending and his egotistical douchebag of a costar (though he hasn't been doing a very good job of either tbh!)
Thats all my speculation anyway. Holding out for that tell all book jackles!

How TVD Could Have Been 10,000 Times Better:
(Some Creative Writing Disguised as an Essay)
Tumblr media
Look, I think we're all aware that TVD sucks. But that doesn't mean it had to be that way. The CW ruined plenty of shows; SPN, TVD, TO, Legacies, Arrow - I could go on. In spite of weak plot or disappointing endings, these shows had some excellent character concepts and could have been so much better if someone had put just a touch of creative thought into them.
Now, I can't pretend to know much about acting or the world of production, and I can't say I could actually direct anything effectively, but I do have something of an artistic eye. So if I had been the one to direct something like TVD, then I can guarantee that at least the cinematography and music choice would have been ten times better.
Allow me to demonstrate.
Example One:
Tumblr media
Do y'all remember the scene where Klaus breaks his curse? (Of course you do.) Let's face it, there are plenty of very cheap, practical tricks that could have made that scene feel ten times as natural and formidable. But, for now, let's just focus on camera and music. The ending to that particular episode with that big, frightening cliffhanger was alright. But you know what could have made it that much better?
Some gosh darn cinematography. So, picture this, if you will:
The full moon has passed it's apex and now sets over the tops of the trees - the forest beyond is black as night. On the edge of the trees, a lone wolf - wild and fierce - is seen prowling into the woods and the camera spins, flipping upside down and you realize... The moon isn't going down at all, it's only just begun to rise. The eerie howls of a wolf pack can be heard in the distance as Feelin' Good by Michael Buble plays full blast....
Significantly better, right? Let's have another.
Example Two:
Tumblr media
In season 4, Kol (aka the love of my life) slaughters a bar full of freshly turned vampires. Such would have been an excellent opportunity to exploit the show's TV-14 rating for use of gore, and seeing as vampires aren't technically human, that gives a show a little extra leniency with its gore total. (TVD rarely used gore to it's fullest potential, just a little bit of set dressing and makeup can really drive a scene home. Just watch The Originals: The Awakening web series. That was well used gore.)
Now, even after all the show did to dismiss him, Kol is still a reasonably intimidating character. However, that extra carnage allotment could have been used to create a truly terrifying antagonist. Instead, the show chose to reduce a one-thousand-year-old being's massacre of a dozen or more relatively innocent people to some vague off-screen unfortunate mishap. This was - pardon my French - AN ABSOLUTE PUSSY MOVE!
They could have shown the kills and brought all the horror, without breaking the season's gore total. How? Why like this of course...
The woods are quite dark, but not black. The old pine trees lining a well-traveled dirt road are individually discernable but only just, lit in tones of grey. It's just barely sunrise, yet shadowy figures seem to flit through the dim light. The camera angle is set on the ground, like a person lying in the dirt.
An early morning fog creeps along, pooling in the clearing provided by the path as it carves its way through these forboding woods. The fog rolls and shifts - you're unsure if something or someone has disturbed it. You wait - another moment, another heartbeat - and then you see it: A tall, shadowed silhouette appears through the fog - small and faint at first but growing clearer, stronger as he approaches, much like the music that begins to play - heard by the viewers through the dark figure's headphones. The terrible stranger stalks closer and closer, seeming to grow larger than life, thanks to the camera angle which changes as he passes. The camera moves with him, circling around him once in one continuous shot before settling just a short distance behind. The song heard in his headphones is Stayin' Alive by Bee Gees' and he sways to the beat - casually, carelessly - as he walks toward that absolute dump of a bar.
The figure opens the door and the music becomes just a bit muffled as the door swings shut behind him. The song continues for a moment - just a second or three - calm and ordinary as one would expect and then
BAM!
BLOOD SPRAYS ACROSS A WINDOW!
Suddenly, the audio is no longer confined to those headphones; it expands outward, and now intertwined with the music, the audience hears the screams, the pleas, and the tortured cries of those poor souls as they're slaughtered like pigs. One by one, the screams cut off until it's once again only the music. Then, just as you thought it was all finally over, there's a loud crash - the door opens with a bang and you see a pair of hands latch onto the doorframe. They scrabble and scratch, burning under the faintest touch of sunlight. Something tugs at them, drawing them back inside, but they fight! Then, with a spray of blood across the camera, the hands go slack and are yanked back inside.
The screen goes black and the music stops...
See what I mean?
With just a little bit of camera creativity and a dash of practical effects, TVD could have been so much better, right?

supernatural s13e23 let the good times roll (w. andrew dabb)
well, carry on my wayward son has lost pretty all of its emotional punch that it once had for me back in the early seasons.
the moment we see sam in front of the corkboard and "the ice caps are melting" i felt like i was going to combust. what is this nonsense. our-earth 101 catching them up to speed even though we're just here to regroup and arm up before a showdown with michael? and how long was the apocalypse apocalypsing over there? longer than it would have without the boys to stop it in 2010 or whatever? mortifying. i fast forwarded. i don't need the spn cliffs notes on awful things here too
you want to hear some nonsense? i was sort of looking forward to yesterday's episode. i don't know why. well, it disabused me of that notion right quick.
why are we on some rando werewolf hunt
man mary is beautiful. and sure, she and bobby get umbrellas
MARY So what are you gonna do now? BOBBY Honestly, I got no clue. Everyone seems to be settling in okay in town. Ketch is out doing Ketch things. Rowena and Charlie are road tripping it through the Southwest.
i get that it's for production reasons they're not gonna have the whole cast around but hokay.
BOBBY Anyways...without an archangel, it's not like we can go back home. And I'm not sure I'd want to.
all right then. obviously, shit's gonna happen with lucifer and michael though right. don't have a lot of episodes left (lol) and i know michael gets all up in there at some point
DEAN Hey, you remember...remember when you asked if we could stop it? All the evil in the world? SAM Yeah. DEAN If we could...really change things? Well, maybe with Jack, we can. SAM Maybe you're right. But then what will we do? DEAN Mm. Yeah. This. (Dean holds a beer he has been carrying and Sam looks down at his) A whole lot of this. But on a beach somewhere, you know? Can you imagine? You, me, Cass, toes in the sand, couple of them little umbrella drinks. Matching Hawaiian shirts, obviously. Some hula girls. SAM (scoffing) You talking about retiring? You? DEAN If I knew the world was safe? Hell, yeah. And you know why? 'Cause we freaking earned it, man. SAM (holding up his beer) I'll drink to that. DEAN Yeah. Hell, yeah.
being optimistic is surely a sign for everything to turn to absolute shit. is cas gonna wear the trench over the hawaiian shirt? he's awfully commited to that look
tired of myself talking about this show.
Tumblr media
DEAN Jack? Hey. Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Easy. You're just having a bad dream. JACK Sorry. DEAN It's okay. You don't have to apologize. I have 'em, too. All the time. JACK You do? DEAN Sure. JACK You, um... What do you see? DEAN Well, depends. Mostly... mostly people I couldn't save.
thanks for saying that i guess, pretty sure he's only gonna talk to someone that's zoned as a kid about it. but without specifics of course
DEAN Jack... it's not about being strong. I mean...Look, I don't know what you saw over there, and I don't know what you went through. I know it was bad. But I also know that you came out the other side because you are strong. But even when we're strong, man, things are gonna happen. We're gonna make mistakes. Nobody's perfect. Right? But we can get better. Every day, we can get better. So whatever you're dealing with, you know, whatever...whatever comes at us, we'll figure out a way to deal with it, together. You're family, kid, and we look after our own.
needed some Quality Dad Bonding time between jack and dean, i guess now that he's not convinced he's gonna go evil and blow up the world. also always slightly amused that jack's actor, alexander calvert, is 27 at this point
didn't take long for lucifer to show up
jack flitting off to basically kill this guy with no proof of wrongdoing, like. it's such a weird character because he's an adult, i think in world he's supposed be i dunno, late teens? and he's got a very childlike view of events. it's like infantilizing except that he is basically a baby with extremely limited life experince so?? i dunno. doesn't really work for me on the regular
Tumblr media
in a way i wish pellegrino had a different role so i could like the character he's playing. i want to believe this thing with jack because he's just so good at being sincere and horrible. like, some fucking random play at getting jack on his side is making me cry??? because the idea of starting over and him actually leaving everyone alone is just so... i wish.
MARY Sam, even if we find Lucifer, how we gonna stop him?
did they lose their archangel blade over in au world?
MAGGIE Does it matter? Kinda seems like you have bigger, you know, Satan-y problems. SAM Yeah, but -- but we're -- we're dealing with those. Mostly.
the little muttered "mostly" did get a chuckle out of me
CASTIEL Yeah, angel radio is nothing but static, which is disturbing.
i mean there's only what, 9 angels left anyway lol
Tumblr media
laughing at this ridiculous slow float downstairs while they shoot at him, knowing nothing is going to do anything
well. that big reveal of lucifer is actually evil to jack thing, well played by pellegrino as i'd expect. did not expect him flashing out of there with jack and sammy in tow.
DEAN No. What if...what if you had your sword?
well. i wondered what on earth could get dean to say yes.
LUCIFER Wow, Daddy Sammy coming to the rescue. But your little Jackie, the nougat-loving boy that you had before, he's killed people. He's got lots of blood on his hands. SAM (standing) I don't care. He's family.
i mean, so has sam and the rest of their family so?? not exactly a convincing argument :p
DEAN (to Castiel) Lucifer has Sam. He has Jack. Cass, I don't have a choice! DEAN (To Michael) If we do this, it's a one-time deal. I'm in charge. You're the engine, but I'm behind the wheel. Understand?
i'm sure that'll work out fine
Tumblr media
mmmk.
convenient that michael and lucifer brought the archangel blades with them so we can have a little showdown
Tumblr media
lol reminds me of the matrix training with morpheus fight but cheesier. and we're just gonna have a fist fight in the air. oy
are they actually committing to killing lucifer? his character was more than done but sad to see pellegrino leave, but glad that plotline is over finally
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SAM You did it. DEAN No. No, we did it. We did it.
and dean immediately hunches over in pain and it's like s8e23 all over again
and now michael has his special sword vessel and he broke the deal and they can't go killing him while he's wearing dean, right. wonder how long that's gonna drag on in the next season. i haven't seen a lot of gifs of michael!dean so lol i figure it can't be that long??

To preface this ask - I have less than zero desire for more SPN at all. I think it's ran more than its course already and there is no need to bring it back (also, more new SPN means more new drama, wank and fandom wars along with a renewed Jared hate from the hellers who won't get dest*el and AA's who think it should be the solo Dean show).
So now to play devil's advocate for a moment - Brad Schwartz saying they haven't had any convos at the CW about a revival doesn't mean they haven't had those convos elsewhere. I actually highly doubt either J would want a revival on the CW with the way the network has been going etc so I doubt they would have pitched there in the first place (unless they had exhausted other avenues previously).
Now I am absolutely NOT saying I think they have pitched it elsewhere or that it's in any stages of development already. I'm just saying that one network exec at a studio who doesn't own the IP and probably wouldn't be where they would want it anyways, doesn't mean its officially dead. I desperately hope it's dead, but I try to prepare for the worst just in case lol.
That's true, I've seen a few people take Brad's word as 'no reboot talk at all,' which just means Brad at the CW hasn't heard anything (and may never hear anything if J2 and the WB want it on a different network).
Personally, I still think it hasn't been pitched yet due to Jared saying in Albuquerque that "it's not happening yet, but there will be..." or just some of what else has been said at cons. It still sounds like it's still at the 'wanting to happen' stage but not at the 'making it happen' stage. Granted, I could be wrong, but that's my impression.
And yes, I am completely with you in the reasons for not doing a revival/reboot, and I'll add that it's because I feel all of the SPN stories have been told. We know how the characters end up. Any timeline that follows the ending is going to dilute the finale and any timeline prior won't have any stakes because we know how the show ends.

i just think that we should recognize that outside of the nepotism hires, pretty much every writer on spn was at worst competent and that occasionally some of them even reached for the transcendental. (and honestly even the nepotism hires had some flashes of brilliance tho mostly on a dialogue or scene basis rather than episode or plot basis.)
at least for me, the points where spn memorably has egg on its face and is at its worst is when it's being racist or sexist. like i can suspend disbelief on the occasional plot hole or jump, moments where characters are a bit ooc to move the plot along. but the unforgivable stuff to me are episodes like there will be blood or man's best friend with benefits or the bad place. the treatment of characters like bela and jo in early seasons, the way it waffles on monsters and whether they are universally evil. the way spn frames hunters positively in light of american exceptionalism and libertarianism.
like just. idk. saying spn is poorly written and only the fans get it just feels weird. i believe in death of the author, i believe in the power of transformative fiction... but whether you're writing meta or fic or shitposts, you're still playing in someone else's sandbox. and if it was a crappy sandbox, you wouldn't enjoy playing in it. (not to mention the lack of media literacy where ppl call every single callback just reusing plot lines rather than them being, yanno, narrative parallels.) there are absolutely points where they were reusing and retreading things and it tended to be with beloved characters like crowley where they kinda dead-ended but wanted to keep him around as a more central character without having much for him to do.
there are absolutely points where there is bad writing or they reach for something that is more complex than a cw show is really allowed to be without losing its core audience and then they can't follow through. but all in all? there's a hell of a lot more good than bad.

Ep 2 is here now and I gotta say, the fact that Lata just finds all things monster fascinating is my fav thing cuz that is just me. Her playing with the jaw of the zombie was adorable and I wish i could've done the same. Carlos finding it disturbing just added to the charm of the whole scene.
Millie immediately yelling at John before he even got the chance to exit the car was oof, big oof. Mainly cuz it reminded me of my own mother's control tendencies. And because of that, I also tend to try and understand her point: admittedly John could've died and she wouldn't have know anything til after the fact. I get that fear, especially after the 2 years of no contact and likely a not good break before that with John at war. But fuck if she didn't just make it way harder for John to ever try bridging that gap or learning actual skills on dealing with conplex shit like that because she was just unreasonable about it all and taking it out on him. And the fact that La Tunda is actually calm when talking to John later is sooo interesting. I can't say she was nicer than Millie, cuz she wasn't but it def counts as another of those [insert crowley here saying :so my demons were too polite?] moments. I just found it all soo interesting and I have to add thay sadly her story at the end of the episode where she tells John about her and Henry's dealing with arguements doesnt actually help her case too much because of how she reacted initially. All thay teaches John is that he can take out his fear on others and then smooth it over with an "ull understand when ure older/had kids/been through similar shit" she is somply not constructive at all. But it a bit of an improvement because she, i believe, meant it as an explanation and apology despite it sounding as an excuse to me.
John being clearly not a pro at hunting or even just the type of fighting style hunting requires (and especially with a group of hunters) sent me. It's soo good. And it just makes me think of SPN!John learning to hunt and with the trauma of Mary's death it suddenly seems like even more reasons he didn't engage with a hunter's network. He just isn't a team player in that sense, he's too hyperfocused on his own fight that he loses sight of anyone else, and more than that, he had to have learned to adjust the fighting style he'd known to something that would work for hunting. It was basically ego and refusal to change, surpise surprise. TW!John tho keeps trying even after he fucks up, and while Im sure the constatly getting splashed with monster guts isnt fun, he doesn't have the same hang ups about not being perceived as indestructible. He essentially rolls with the punches and learns and is allowed to have flaws on display. Its not the pedestal SPN!John is put and puts himself on.
Mary's bullheadedness is absolutely fantastic in an extremely frustrating way. She is so fixated on getting through the case as fast as possible so she can get back to finding her dad that I actually got some season 1 Sam vibes from her this episode. I will say I find it soo interesting we got a John focus, cuz we all know the Cambells aren't that off for La Tunda to go for. Carlos giving her a pep talk about it and also admonishing her for her behaviour is def deserved and just top notch friendship tbh. As is the Cabaret gag with Mary, Carlos and Lata. It shows in a small but important way that these 3 def have a history and it's a long and intricate one. And u see even more later after John gets taken. It's in the way they talk to each other even in a high stress situation. Also Mary ackowledging she fucked up and thanking Caelos at the end... ughhhh I love growth.
Ada get to show off a bit more in this one, her scrying was genuinely sooo good, like this episode does a fantastic job of making you ask yourself what is actually up with Ada, whats her deal?? Because on the one hand, she recognized the flower off the top of her head and helped Lata instantly, on the other hand the way the scrying was shot was almost unnearving. And im not sure if it's cuz spn got me/us used to seeing scrying done by villains or as a subterfuge tactic or what, but yea, it added another air of mystery to Ada. And then u you have her conversation with Millie which has a hell of a ripple effect cuz I genuinely believe it's that converation that led to her actually trying with John at the end a bit. It's not solving anything broken there yet, but it does help. And adding ehat we know of about Ada's past to this makes me cry cuz shes just trying to prevent Millie from making the same mistake she had basically.
Carlos was more mediator this episode. Between the Lata and Carlos show (as per usual their friendship is everything to me) and seeing the complexity of that relationship as it stands and their dynamic with each other, to lecturing Mary on her behaviour, to just being highly competent at the job overall. Like they might not have done too much in the foreground, but damn if it wasn't a shitton of background work there. You can tell here that for all the "Im a solo act " bravado, Carlos is actually very much a team player and it's due to the emotional inteligence they have thats on full display here, in their usual jokey manner of course, that thats the case.
Aaaannd we get the 1st mention of Betty in this. I won't touch on that in this one but I like Betty a lot.
The end of this episode is my fav thing. Because it's pizza and joking and hanging out beside having the plot move forward once Ada brings up what shes been up to this episode. And still the focus isn't on the demon memories, but on them bonding. Uhhhh I love it.
We also have the 1st glimpse of the Akrida and if you were skulking around here when the show was airing in autumn u know I think the Akrida are adorable and I want a plushy with them. So the pure joy the shot of who we now know is likely Roxy with all them little critters around gave me cannot be overstated.
This ep def is much better paced than the Pilot, and also just lays clear the main there of this show, which is intergenerational trauma. It literally slaps u with it, it's front and centre and will continue to be shown in its many varried forms as the show progressed and I fucking love it for that because ultimately that is what Dean is doing here, beside once more saving the world. He is like i said, woeking through his own intergenerational trauma through these young versions of his parents that haven't yet had more trauma pilled onto them.
Stay tuned for ep 3 whenever I find the time to rewatch it!

hi sweet ev! thanks for asking 💖
answering asks from this fic writer's meme!
5. how long have you been writing?
i would say i've been writing since i was a kid ! i've always loved poems and prose and i made up two whole fantasy verses and started writing them and character designing when i was like, 10. so longer fiction has always appealed to me. i was the annoying kid that always wanted an essay in school instead of multiple choice, haha.
but yeah, for fandom: i started writing naruto fic when i was in my early teens too, that never saw the light of day. then i was in og spn fandom for a bit and marvel and a:tla and fma and then one direction and then all the way back to naruto and marvel to publish a shit ton of words. life's a circle is the answer!
16. easiest verse to write
mm interesting question!
i feel like i go through phases. for me at this moment, 1872 is real easy to slide into, but in general, we were meant as a verse is very easy to write (and does still have two sequels on my drive awaiting my attention span long enough to finish) and respiraro, si te videro, which uh, i guess its a secret but i have...already started writing...more for...dkjnbkd
27. best review you ever got
oooh difficult! i won't say reviews are best or worst type things, so here are two (relatively) recent ones that i hold p dear:
on rstv:
I'm losing my mind, this is so good. The way you wove the requested elements in, and gave them narrative purpose and emotional weight and coherence within the universe as written. The way you didn't handwave stuff away, physical or emotional, and let revelations and character development be messy and imperfect for both of them.
which felt rly good bc rstv is actually a much heavier plot than i usually do and it is such a complex one to boot, that i was worried about conveying everything well. really affirmed that i am capable of doing this level of intricacy in plot crafting, to me!
and someone in my dune discord server shared with me what they said to a friend of theirs abt my writing in general:
do you ever read something in a style you could probably never write in and just feel this feeling that's like half awe and half burning jealousy? like I this isn't even how I write, but I wish I could write like this, because I like it so much
which felt very uplifting and delightful, coming from a person who is as technically skilled and well read as they are. i've had some worries about how purple my prose is and how meandering my plots are and when i hear things that say my style in particular is enjoyable, it really makes me arthur_clench_fist.gif feel a lot!
38. do you reread your own stories?
oh absolutely, lol. i love what i write, it's catered to my niche interests. i have rstv open on my phone right now for pre-bed reading. and i do reread fics a lot in totality when i'm working on writing them, so i keep everything tidy and structured proper in my head, so i've been reading stop bath and devils in the canyon a lot lately.
will also say - i do read some of my own fics more than others. the ones i've written in massive marathon sprints of 10k a day (rstv, aws, wwm verse, wwwg, etc.) are in some ways more fun to read than ones i spent a long time writing, because they still feel a little mmmm shiny and i haven't worried so much about one line or another that it gives me stress to recall.
49. writing advice
identify what it is that you actually love about writing, and cultivate a relationship with the craft through that. hold onto the good feeling it inspires within you. don't worry so much about process or plot structure. take risks. take inspiration and organize it so you can actually look through it when you need inspiration. read people's work who write what you wanna write and how you wanna write and publish where you wanna write. find your community and be vocal in it; ask about your insecurities if you decide that improving on the craft is what you wanna do.
writing is a bit like carefully preparing meticulous slices of your heart for people to slurp down in a second. learn to meter out how much labor and expectation you want to extend to that cooking. don't take it to heart when people leave without a word to the chef. they still ate it.
find your community and be vocal in it!! nothing replaces a comforting voice in the middle of a vortex of self doubt, calling out to you to go the fuck to sleep because none of the demons roaming your work page at 4AM care about your delicate feelings.

Top 5 shows?
Sure! This one is a little tough, since I don't watch shows much anymore, but I'll go with ones that have been most influential to me over the years, as well as the ones I've been interested in recently. ^-^
(Just a note, but I'm going to have this list be only live-action shows, not cartoons, since that would be too difficult to decide if I had that in the mix. Let me know if anyone wants to know the top 5 cartoons, though!)
Ask me my “TOP 5/TOP 10” anything!
5. Hm... I guess The Witcher should be on here, since it's one of my favorite recent TV shows. It's not super influential to me over all, but I do really enjoy it and want to see where it's going. ^-^
4. Hmmm... this is harder than I thought, oof. It also doesn't help that I always forget every single show I've ever seen when people ask me my favorite shows 😅😅😅 Ahh, but I guess Umbrella Academy? Though that one may be lower than Witcher, not above, but honestly whatever. Umbrella Academy is a good show, but it's definitely got its flaws. Incest anyone??? Oof. I did really like how they handled the whole Viktor thing, though. Obviously I don't know how respectful it was overall, but to someone who is cis, it seemed like they let Elliot say what he wanted to say about it, which is refreshing.
3. Our Flag Means Death. I ADORE this show. I love it when shows genuinely do representation and it was such a good romance that was written out. I sincerely hope that season two has a canon asexual character, maybe even aro/ace (though showing a relationship between an alloromantic ace character and someone who is not ace would be amazing too). But even without that, any queer representation brings us one step closer to all queer representation, which is a win for everyone really.
2. Supernatural. Now, this doesn't mean that I necessarily like Supernatural (SPN). I mean... I do like parts of it, but SPN is hella rough. I likened it to a soap opera in the end, where it just keeps going and elevating far past where it should have ended. However... it definitely was influential to me growing up. Even still today. I learned about GISH (The Greatest International Scavenger Hunt) because of SPN, and that's how I met most of my friends. It also did have some good moments, and the first few seasons with Cas are legit my favorites. Seasons 4-6, really. After that, the only thing really keeping my attention in the show was Cas. I did stop watching the show around season 10, but picked it back up three years later with season 13, since I was just curious as hell as to what was even happening anymore. The last season (and especially the last 2-3 episodes) were VERY rough, but it was... decent enough.
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, easily. I was absolutely obsessed with this show when I was a preteen-teen. I watched the episodes on my little DVD player when my family was technically homeless for a month when I was 10 (we had to leave our last apartment abruptly since the landlord used mold killer on some mold and it made my mom [who is disabled and has bad lungs] extremely sick, leaving us without a home for a month while my dad tried to find us a decent apartment that we could move into quickly. Luckily, my grandpa has a lot of money and paid for us to stay in a hotel for that month, and then agreed to pay rent for us to live in a nice, somewhat expensive apartment, but it was still stressful for a 10 year old), which was a comfort. I didn't finish the series then, since I didn't have season 7 (my dad didn't like that season and so never bought it), and only had some of the DVD's for the early seasons, but I still enjoyed it. However, I got really into the show again when I was a teen, watching all the episodes religiously when I was about... 13, 14?? I ADORED Spike, since I always liked the ''redeemable bad guy'' character type. Which is one reason I like Mondo, ha. But it was just a show that was there for me when I needed something to focus on. I had health issues during those years, so anything that helped me escape was appreciated. SPN was similar, though I got into that show when I was older, like 15-16. I watched every episode (after season 3, since I HATED Angel. Still do, when he's on Buffy at least. On Angel he's fine, but the whole ''old vampire in love with a teenage girl'' thing was not it for me. At least Buffy was an adult when Spike began taking an interest in her) multiple times. Also, one of my earliest memories is of Buffy. I vaguely remember watching the episode "Once More with Feeling" when I was like... 3 or 4, eating gum on the floor of my old apartment while looking up at the old TV, no context for the show but enjoying the music. Also, yes, I meant eating gum. I knew you weren't supposed to swallow gum, I wasn't stupid, but I thought if you just ate little pieces at a time it would be fine. I liked the concept of gum, but disliked the strong mint flavor, so biting off small pieces and then swallowing it was a manageable amount of mint. I was an... interesting child.
Well, that's it! Hope y'all found my rambling interesting, ha. ^-^ Thanks for the ask!

Rowena x Male Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"we are going to have to call her Dean" Sam says as he's looking through all the books they currently had to try to help their current situation in any way they could.
Dean glares at him from across the table in the main room and shakes his head. "No absolutely not"
Sam just shakes his head at his brothers stubbornness and goes back to reading the book he was currently on. But even after hours of doing research his own eyes had started to hurt so he decided to take a break. "I'm not getting anything. There's nothing we might have to Dean. I know we don't trust her but its not the worst idea we have ever done"
The oldest brother sighs and stands up grabbing himself a drink. "Damnit. You know she's just going to come here and cause trouble right? Remember what happened last time she was around us?"
Both the brothers recall exactly what had happened last time Rowena was around the four of you. Rowena had been giving you looks from across the room and eventually that turned into you coming over and flirting with her. Having no shame in your game what so ever.
You were one of their best friends growing up as you were also raised in the hunting business. This resulted in you guys being around each other a lot but also away so as the years went on Dean had taught you how to flirt and pick of women or men. While you and Sam had flirted a lot throughout the years he fell in love with Jess and nothing ever happened between the two of you which the both of you were fine with you two were close friends.
However they both had grown protective over you and so seeing you flirting with the enemy was a BIG no for them. "Okay so maybe we just keep them two separate from each other" Dean says and Sam nods.
Its to late though because you had heard the last sentence as you walked downstairs. You were about to pick up some groceries when you overheard them talking. "Who are you keeping separate from each other?"
Dean takes a drink out of his glass leaving it up to his brother to take over. "We are having a few people come by to help us with this case since none of us have been able to figure anything to solve it and two of them don't like each other"
Now did you believe what Sam was saying. No. His voice was coming off very matter of fact and when he is speaking truth he doesn't have to seem so convincing. However you choose to ignore it and just nod. "Okay well you two have fun with these friends of yours. I'm going to the store anything you guys want while I'm there?"
You grab a jacket of yours and put it on since its been cold recently with the Christmas weather around the corner. Before you walk out the door you hear the both of them yell out what they want. "Pie, Fruits and vegetables"
"okay if I'm not back after an hour I'm dead" They both glare at you when you say that causing you to laugh and walk out.
As soon as they hear your car start and pull out the drive way is when Sam pulls out his phone. "I cant believe we are actually asking her for help" Dean grumbles like a child and Sam rolls his eyes as he presses the contact and it rings.
"hello boys" Rowena's voice comes through the speaker. "screw something up already?" She teased but was completely serious. Which resulted in Dean speaking "No we haven't. But Sam here thinks we need your help"
Dean not having much manners doesn't hide the fact he is unhappy with this arrangement. So Sam speaks "Rowena we need your help. Will you help us we cant find anything in the books or we wouldn't have called"
There is silence through the other end for a moment before she speaks. "well I hate to be one of these people but what's in it for me?"
The brothers look at each other for a moment "world peace should be good enough of a reward"
She laughs "oh please where is the fun in that. I guess we will just have to figure something out then hm." There's a pause for a moment "is the pretty boy there?"
They can hear the smile forming on her face and they sigh as Sam speaks "He went out. You might miss him if you don't come over now"
A beep is the only thing they here in response. They think she had chosen not to but when footsteps are heard across the wood floor they see her. Her red hair curled and falling down her shoulders nicely. She had also put on a nice outfit and they knew exactly who she was trying to impress.
Dean walks up to her glaring at her. "listen if you even think about flirting with him or even Looking at him with those eyes of yours ill kill you"
She smirks and places her hand on his shoulder. "oh Dean I'm not intimidated by you. I'm here to help you show me what you need me to do"
Sam brings her to all the things they had been researching and she nods and they get ingredients all out before she begins to slowly use her witchcraft. Making sure to do this correctly.
About an hour goes by and she's still there and you walk in through the door. "okay boys I've got everything for Sam's healthy smoothies cause he's a freak and Deans pie"
You look up and see the both of them looking at you "what?"
"Well took you long enough. I was beginning to think I would have to stall for even longer" You turn your head to look at Rowena and a small smile forms on your lips. "hello gorgeous sorry for keeping you waiting"
Sam grabs the bags from you and puts things away but not before telling the both of you to stop flirting. "well Sam if you and Dean don't want to watch us flirt I suggest you both remove yourselves from the room"
This causes the both of them to roll their eyes and they both leave and go to the kitchen. They knew that you liked her but you also wouldn't let her screw anything up for them. So as soon as they left the room you walk behind Rowena and look at what she's doing. "what are you doing with all these ingredients?"
She rests against you a little as if her body couldn't help but gravitate towards yours. "well watch and ill teach you a little something" A smile forms on your face as you place your chin on her shoulder lightly. "yes ma'am you have my full attention"
You could have sworn you seen her cheeks turn red but she chose to not draw attention to it. She began to show you slowly how to do simple things. She left out some of the steps because she didn't need you to know everything. If you wanted to learn how to do witchcraft she would teach you simple things first.
As she explained some of the steps to you. You listened to her words and after a while you were wondering why the boys weren't in here yet but you had a good idea of who is stopping them from being able to and she's right here with you.
Even when you knew she was trying to focus on the task at hand you couldn't help but want to get a reaction from her so you began to kiss her shoulder and to her neck and as you did you felt her relax and try to continue to work.
However when you got to her collarbone she leaned back and brought her hand to turn your face to look at her. "As much as this is amazing. I've got to finish this and what if Sam and Dean see you kissing me like this?"
Your response was shrugging your shoulders. "well they wouldn't be able to say anything. If i want you im gonna be with you" This results in her placing a quick kiss to your lips. Then you speak again "plus Sam was into a demon at one point in time and we are all pretty sure Dean had a thing for a vampire named Benny and now hes with an angel so"
She laughs and nods "okay well then you still need to back up so i can focus on this and not you" You nod and back away and go to the kitchen and let the both of them out.
When the three of you walk back to the room Rowena is finished with her work and walks over and hands it to Dean. "here now I believe you said there was something in it for me"
"what do you want and don't say what I think you are" He tries to sound stern but when she looks at you he sighs and Sam crosses his arms. "it might be a little to late for your opinions boys"
They give her a questioning look as she walks over to you and pulls you into a kiss and your hands go to her waist leaning into it and before you could stop her she magically takes her back to her home and then un connects your lips
The night is filled with her teaching you a little about witchcraft then movies and dinner. You knew she would let you leave at any time but tonight it was the last thing you wanted to do.
----
The boys back at the bunker both look at each other and try to grab onto you so you didn't go with her but they were to late. They weren't really worried about her keeping you hostage because even if they hated the fact...they knew she really did like you.
"oh come on!" Dean yells and Sam just laughs a little
"well they never were one to listen to well" Sam says

My Journey to Brain-rot, or It Took Me Three Views to “Get” Reservoir Dogs.
Similar to my main blog, where I described my tale as a Supernatural fan, first casual then wanting something more, something a lot gayer, only to be delighted that the answer’s been under my nose the whole time. Very similar story.
I’m going to recap from memory my first three viewings of the 1992 classic. So:
1st viewing: I was probably 12. Pretty sure I’d rented it from Blockbuster. Yes, this was in the 2000’s, no, I don’t expect you to believe me. Not the watching violent movies at twelve part, but the whole “you know what a Blockbuster is?” Point being, I really liked Kill Bill, and figured this would be no different. Problem is, I’m terrible with names. Like, can’t name a relative of mine if we’re not that close, even if Mom’s told me five minutes ago. How do you think I fared with a movie of white guys dressed the same way with similar dialogue? Not well, and I wasn’t impressed. Promptly forgot about the movie, its plot, its characters, its twist, all of it.
In the years that followed, and having enjoyed the likes of Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Bastards, I decide, at about 17? I wanna say? to give Reservoir Dogs another shot.
2nd viewing: It’s like my mind’s been wiped, have no recollection of this fucking film. Had zero expectations, but there was one important difference at this time, and where it crosses over with my experience with Supernatural: I’d been craving some gay shit. That good ol’ MLM. Only at this point, I had zero tools in my media literacy belt, and had to go by gut feeling. You know, when you watch or read something, and you get that funny feeling in your gut that it’s really quite queer, and you’re not instantly sure if you’re into it. That was me when I saw Tim Roth screaming his head off and the older guy holding his hand, comforting him. Literally nothing else in the movie held my interest the way these two’s bullshit did. Every moment they weren’t on screen being the definition of hurt/comfort was like losing the heart of the story.
Too long later, to March of this year, at 25 years old. I see someone who’s movie reactions I like has also reacted to this film, and I instantly think ‘oh yeah, the one where those two characters are really homoerotic’. Watch this 40 minute reaction, and am stunned at how it’s not only still really fucking gay, but queerer than I remembered. Late at night, done with the video, and I’m like “I need to rewatch this movie now.”
3rd viewing: glued to my seat, absolutely enthralled with this fucking movie. The brain-rot has properly set in. This is my life now. I wonder how more people don’t talk about this movie as the queer masterpiece that it is. I’m cursed with the sight, and cannot express what haunts me. A week later, I realize, to both my delight and horror, that Supernatural has done an episode of this in season 12. I mean, straight up, a Tarantino tribute to specifically Reservoir Dogs, that’s also known as one of the best Destiel episodes of the series, and blatantly foreshadows characters betraying their love interest in the season finale. Listen, I didn’t start writing SPN meta until season 13, I never even considered that the source material was equally as gay. Just, this revelation both fascinated and confounded me, but provided me with another comfort; I’m not alone in recognizing how ridiculously queer this movie is, and that professional writers got paid to make what amounts to crossover fanfiction.
So, to go from being unimpressed at 12 to obsessed at 25. God, I love movies.
Reservoir Dogs is truly one of those movies that is more rewarding the more you watch it. Makes me wish there were more videos of people online rewatching movies with a twist, or to be able to take a deeper dive into a story and not be lost from trying to absorb all the details and characters and plot-points for the first time.
That's it. Now I'm stuck here with maybe a dozen fanfic plots in my noggin. I shall never know peace.

A bit of a moan under the cut...
It's funny to be in this position where I follow a ton of SPN blogs, and a ton of Good Omens blogs, and so I get a lot of interesting hot takes across my dash.
It's fine for people to be critical, but I do find criticism of GO from SPN fans kinda hilarious and hypocritical.
"the writing was like bad fanfiction"
You did actually watch Supernatural yes? Even season 4 had its terrible fanfiction moments *cue trauma memory of Sam Winchester explaining "w*ncest" to his brother and shudder*
"There was no plot at all and it was all pointless."
Hmmm... reminds me of seasons 12, 13, and 14 of SPN
"The relationship reveal at the end was so stupid and clearly a crack ship from tumblr"
Yeah I was also really surprised when Dean and Crowley hooked up in Season 10.
"Neil Gaiman was clearly bullied into making them canon by tumblr, he absolutely hated fans asking if Crowley and Aziraphale were gay and in love back before the first season came out"
And? Why is him changing his mind (if thats what happened) a bad thing? What exactly do you think was happening behind the scenes at Supernatural regarding Destiel?
"Even if Neil Gaiman DID change his mind and decide to make it romantic, its still disingenuous and he's lying to you about what he planned with Terry Pratchett"
Sure. He could be. Funny how sometimes at some point people may see the light regarding their characters and realise that the story works better if they are together - at least Neil Gaiman was able to follow through, unlike Bobo Berens and Andrew Dabb who had their vision shat on by the CW.
Maybe he is exaggerating about what exactly he and Terry plotted out. He's protective of Terry's memory but clearly also painfully aware of how rabid the fans are and has gone a bit overboard in reassuring them. How many lies have you been told by the creators of SPN? How many times have Jackles and Mollins lied to you? Queerbaited you? Mocked you? Have you ever heard of a little thing called growth?
If you are gonna be critical about GO and Neil Gaiman, by all means go ahead. But DO NOT then sit there in the same breath and say SPN was better, that SPN had your back, or sing SPNs praises in any way.
Both shows have good and bad moments. Both sets of creators have lied at times, and tried to do whats best for their fans at times. Both shows are filled to the fucking brim with fanservice - at least GO didn't mock and ridicule its fans by either portraying them all as sad loser men, obsessive stalkers, or teenage girls who are a bit too obsessed with the sappier moments to be taken seriously. The fandom inserts in GO were older, wiser, calmer, and rather badass lesbians actually. I thought that was pretty neat.
I'm not even a huge Neil Gaiman stan, find most of his asks cringe (and often wonder if he picks out the cringier ones specifically to toy with and mock the fandom) and def find some of his explanations surrounding the origins of the GO sequel contradictory and nonsensical. Whilst he is a great fantasy writer, he isn't the best at screenwriting imo. He is also rubbish at comedy and needs support on that always. It is very clear to me that he has absorbed some of the tumblr mentality in his later years, as this is apparant to me in both GO and the Sandman, and yet, as someone who rather loves the tumblr mentality, I'm all for it. I think he is maybe trying a bit TOO hard to appeal to the tumblr specific queer community which can be alienating for wider audiences (i say this as someone who considers herself very much part of the tumblr specific queer community), and I do sometimes wonder if there is something a little bit disengenuous on his side about that, because, well, how much can an older cishet white man ever really understand the overly millennial/Gen Z queer majority AFAB leaning tumblr space? I do think some people have really got to crawl out of Neil Gaiman's ass because he is not your God. He is just a guy.
But I also think a lot of the hate thrown his way is unnecessary. A lot of people's gripes about him seem to be complaints that he is too wrapped up in tumblr culture. Which is an ironic criticism to come from tumblr users. If you hated GOS2 that's totally fine. But if you hated it and then proudly proclaim that "Supernatural did it first" "Supernatural did it better" or just "Supernatural was the best and Good Omens will never be Supernatural". Please, for the love of God, shut the fuck up. Supernatural was heavily influenced BY Good Omens, and the Sandman. Supernatural was so braizen in its stealing ideas from GO and the Sandman that it even stole one of the main characters NAMES.
As a long time SPN fan, any SPN fans ever claiming Neil Gaiman stole ideas from SPN is a fucking embarassment to the rest of the SPN fandom. By all means criticise Gaiman's work to your hearts content, but at least criticise it correctly and leave the hypocrisy at the door.

summary of my thoughts on The Winchesters 1.01 (but slightly to the left)
sooooooooo mad rn i wrote an entire summary of my thoughts on the spnwin premiere and then fell asleep and my laptop shutdown so now i have to do it again:
anyways (medium spnwin spoilers belooow)
- Overall I really liked the pilot. It messes with the core plot quite a bit but in a way that makes it clear that there’ll be some sort of plot twist. I’m excited to know where it goes to say the least. There was an issue with really fast pacing but I think thats usually a problem with pilots anyway so fingers crossed next week’s episode goes at a slower pace.
- I think the best part of the episode was the new characterisations of John and Mary. They feel like themselves but in fresh, new ways. John (who I hate in spn) especially, I found very compelling. because we see him start off right as all his problems do, just returned from war. The John we know is still just around the corner for him, though, and the show will probably follow him as he steps into the role (before Mary dies anyways).
I really liked Mary’s character in season 12 and 13 of Supernatural, and The Winchesters Mary has a lot of potential. She reminds me so much of Sam in season 1, wanting so badly to get out of hunting, though we know she never truly will. Of course, she is also very deanlike in general attitude, but I think the parallels with Sam got me more excited. Since it’s clear spnwin diverges from canon (for now) I wonder what it means for Mary’s character.
Carlos and Latika are great, although I don’t have much to say about them. Latika’s moment with John gave me a tiiiny sliver of hope that Mary and John would each try to escape their fated romance with other people, until they get magneted back by the forces that be. Tbh I doubt that’ll happen though (cant get my hopes too high). I kind of wanted someone to be killed off immediately but thats because I hate quads im not gonna lie.
Not loving the scooby doo van, or energy to be honest, but I can overlook it because I like the characters.
- Now, about the romance.
Please, god, the dialogue. Everything else was fine but some of the dialogue is. yikes. Mary especially is the worst offender for this with lines that feel so painfully CW (are you KIDDING ME.)
I also (no shocker here) don’t like Mary and John’s romance, i’m sorry. I really don’t feel the chemistry between them... hopefully thats on purpose? (its not). I don’t like how fast Mary warmed up to and was ready to explain the hunting life to John, it does not feel consistent with her character. I do not at all like their banter. Also I know Jensen was probably trying to sneak a little cameo in there with the nickname ‘soldier boy’ but I hate it. a lot. (that is just a personal thing though). I’m really banking on this show playing with the whole ‘destined to be together but aren’t gonna work’ thing that John and Mary have, because if it’s just Supernatural: love story edition i’m going to be very sad.
- seeing dean at the end had me smiling because he’s BACK!!!! and he’s back in the CAR!!!! Where is he? No idea. Where is he going? No idea. Does his appearance and voice over actually add anything to the story? Probably not yet. Am I happy to see him? Absolutely.
