I love that lonely heart was the first song written by only 5sos, and it has themes running though 5sos5*, the first album pretty much fully written by them

I love how youthful it is, the way when you're young you don't realise how many people out there who are your kind there are, how many people might be able to understand you and so when one comes you hold onto them like a lifeline

I love how it was written right in the middle of youngblood and calm and all the different songwriting collabs they did for those, big names and big hits, then there's your funny little ballad with a big chorus lonely heart

I love whatever genre it is, I'm not sure actually what it is. I love its funny little overlay of 6 and 4 beats in a bar and you could write it in just about any time signature and it makes sense

I love the term 'native of mine'

I love how it mentions the way insomnia and sleep deprivation make one anxious and needy and lonely and irritable. i love the imagery and i love the way the pre-choruses are different and i love the drums and stacked vocals on the bridge

i think we don't appreciate lonely heart enough

nobody be mad at me and also know that this isn't because I think they're not good songs, they're just not my personal vibe. so I usually tend to skip Lonely Heart, Better Man, Money, Broken Home (for child of divorce reasons obvi), and i always skip Emotions.

and I always skip greenlight because i dO think it's bad and i feel ok saying it's bad bc Ashton Irwin called it a real stinker and they put it in D tier <3 fuck you greenlight you know what you did <3

I’m actually obsessed with 5sos it’s not even funny but anyway-

I feel like, at least in Jacks’s world, someone so hopeful, optimistic, and romantic and Eva is hard to find. And also I feel like before he became a fate, Jacks of the Hollow was the same way. I get such innocent, boyish, hopeless romantic vibes from him, which adds to his character development becoming a fate.

He was clearly distressed after because it was real for him and he thought it wasn’t for her. He literally tore up his room over this.

enjoy a lot of cello melody (bc luke's voice), unpolished danceableness, a bunch of key changes in teeth (because i'm trying to mimc 4 versions of that song in 2 different keys) and me trying to convince you ghost of you is on calm so that the violas get a solo in calum's verse :)

Ok so i blindly bought a book about this radio show host who meets her favorite band and she falls in love with?? the drummer who hates being touched but maybe i should have checked more about this book cause why is it lowkey a 5sos fanfiction?

The moment i opened the first few pages i knew it was over for me. There is a playlist for the book which has THREE 5sos songs on it. And its clear that the author tried to not make it too obvious and mix it up but i just can’t help but cringe on every page.
