MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS: A Lovecraft story as a graphic novel. This was pretty good, a bit spooky. The Mythos of Lovecraft, fiction and reality

Was Lovecraft an insider disguised as an eccentric intellectual, a wizard possessed by the spirit of the great elders, or simply the channel of forces that surpassed him? All those who have plunged into the dark worlds of the stories of the Cthulhu and other abominations out of the tortuous mind of the enigmatic author of Providence, have wondered. The references to secret and ancient cults, the existence of superior and evil races of unsuspected dimensions seem to be organized into a coherent whole. Lovecraft claimed that inspiration came from his dreams and he was never officially a member of the esoteric societies in vogue at the time. He was materialistic and even indifferent to any mystical idea. This contrast between his dreamlike life and his conscious existence does not reassure and even leaves assume a reality worse than fiction. The cult of his Mythos continues to gain momentum more than 70 years after his death by creating a disturbing Egregore. The cult of Cthulhu and the Magic of Chaos The cursed book Necronomicon, the versions of which are constantly multiplying is the subject of a number of feverish speculations, as if a will were at work in secret to pat us on the shoulder, to wake us up and take Lovecraft seriously. The Typhonian Order founded by Kenneth Grant (spiritual inheritance from Crowley and Thelema) in the United Kingdom aims to explore extra-terrestrial and demonic intelligences and more particularly the Mythos of Lovecraft. Anton Lavey, the Black Pope of the Church of Satan for his part, created summoning rituals for the Cthulhu to honor Lovecraft. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. In L'undergound, the followers of the Magic of Chaos keep drawing on Mythos to prepare the return of the Great Elders in our reality, when the alignment of the stars allows it.

It is sometimes said that fictions are created to subtly introduce a fantastic reality hidden from the eyes of laymen. The fact remains that Cthulhu, Nyarlatoteph, Dagon, Shoggoth or Shub-Niggurath and other Lovecraftian entities are the subject of obscure cults all over the world under the aegis of Miskatonic University. The influence of the world of Lovecraft

Lovecraft's influence on the arts and contemporary culture is expanding more than ever. All those who have one day plunged into the mystery and the madness of the Lovecraftian writing, its search for plausibility, its rhythm, its so particular vocabulary, leave there marked forever. We can point out to Mnemos editions the publication in early 2020 of the complete prestige of Lovecraft's works in French. This luxury edition illustrated by painter's canvases Zdzisław Beksinski, accompanied by feature articles by T.S Joshi and a selection of letters exchanged between H. P. Lovecraft, Robert Howard and Clark Ashton Smith will not fail to seduce fans of the Mythos. And for gamers, in addition to the role-playing game "The Call of the Cthulhu", the Necronomiconis Medievalis, is a book linked to the old one by Altersano Del Rey, consisting entirely of illustrations by artist Jagoba Lekuona.
