Confession, I think Stranger things is a decent show with decent writing and that's why I think byler is endgame.

To be honest I'm very critical of the show's writing. I think ST is a good show but with quite a few flaws yet I'm still pretty confident in byler endgame because I genuinely believe it's what makes the most narrative sense (yes, even still with the existence of the monologue). That's not to say I'm immune to byler doubt but it's usually more related to external factors like "they'll really go for it?" than what we see in the show. If the plan was to have Mike accept in Will as gay and portray positive male friendships with their relationship, they shouldn't have changed Mike and Will's dynamic in season 3 and 4 and not have Will be in love with Mike.

Like can you guys imagine Will coming out to Mike with the same dynamic they had in season 2? That would have been fucking adorable, it would have been a wonderful representation of a friendship of a gay boy and a straight boy having a close relationship.

But they didn't, they had to give us dramatic fights like the rain fight, the rink o mania fight, lines like "we're friends, we're friends" that awful half hug, portray Will's love for Mike so beautifully while showing that Mike and El's relationship doesn't really work.

Like I love season 2 and I think the writers already had byler in mind when they wrote it (that's why they had so many parallels with miIeven, and the miIeven scenes were mean to be view as romantic) but if they really wanted to keep their platonic relationship after that season they could do it, or even after season 3! I know many say Mike and Will's friendship becoming more distant after season 3 was the natural course of things but while I agree, I think the scene "what if you want to join another party? " "Not possible" was an opportunity for the writers, they could make their friendship the same as before, it was the "olive branch" I think most people wouldn't find it weird if there was no drama between Mike and Will in season 4 (I repeat I still agree it was also natural course but I think the writers had 2 choices on which way to go) take for example to Mike and Max's relationship, they spent season 3 beefing but even though we don't have a scene with them like the "not possible" in season 4 and though we know Max disappeared or pushed way everyone, there really doesn't seem to be any problem between Max and Mike, we have the scene of the two of them talking in episode 1, Mike mentioning Max with Lucas and Dustin (Max, Lucas, Dustin. ..they're great) and Max making a letter to Mike as well. (Also, let's be honest it's a common thing for ST writers to introduce certain things and never touch them again, or leave them in oblivion, like Mike being really mean to Max in s2 and never apologizing to her or mentioning it on screen, my point is that it wouldn't be weird for the writers to do something like that).

But nooo, they had to have Mike act weird, give Mike and Will communication problems (a usually romantic trope) and make Will's love for Mike much more obvious instead of giving him a new love interest.

They made Will basically a third party to Mike and El's relationship in s4, and that's weird from a narrative standpoint. They put more emphasis on Will's feelings than they did on Mike and El's romance and that's just not normal. They didn't do this with Steve and Jancy or Dustin and Lumax. Will appeared so often in Mike and El scenes that it became predictable for viewers.

They wanted you to empathize with him, to feel bad for him, to rotate for his happiness.

I'm just saying in a very long-winded way that decisions were made and if they really don't plan on making byler endgame it wasn't just one mistake they made but MANY, MANY bad decisions, not just around Mike and Will's relationship but Mike and El's as well. For example I would worry more about the monologue if it had been something that was Mike's idea at the moment he sees El is having problems something like "She's dying and I never told her how I feel, I need her to fight" but not only did they do the van scene but they reminded us of the van scene with Will saying "Mike, don't stop, you are the heart, remember that" which people must accept regardless of whether they are bylers or not that it did have an influence on Mike starting his monologue because if it was really that unnecessary the writers just wouldn't write it, even the track for the monologue scene is called "you're the heart."

In conclusion, in my personal case what gives me hope the most about byler endgame is that even though ST's writing is not perfect at all I think the writers are really trying in the case of Mike and Will's relationship because like I've said it before and I'll say it again, their relationship is one of the best written of the entire show, you can tell the diligence and care that was put into their scenes, into their bond...

And again, it was a thousand times easier to give Will a new love interest in season 4 but they didn't and I'd like to think there's a reason for that also the fact that Will was planned to be gay even before stranger things was stranger things and it was just a pitch called Montauk, at least to me shows that they care.

If Byler isn't endgame they really messed up a lot of things.

Max learns to do hair for you two because she never has to do anything to hers.

It's not very long after that you walk into Lucas's room and find her braiding his curls back into tight neat rows

and her popping him with her comb when he keeps reaching up to see how much is left.

She often finds hairstyles in magazines or on TV she wants to try on one of you.

I said before she's not good with words because no one taught her how. But she's good at this and it becomes a way for her to show her love through service.

It breaks your heart when for the first time ever you're the one doing her hair up nice while she's sleeping away in the hospital.

Lucas loves you dance with the two of you. Spinning you around on smooth flooring while wearing socks.

Max has the dance coordination of a toddler but it's the most adorable thing to him when she stumbles a little and the two of you lean into each to laugh as you hold her up.

Looking at the two of you thinking about how much he never thought about loving two people THIS much, is his favorite memory. Every new time topping the old.

When he looks at you now it's a bit blurry but he sees there's no smile. But his ears still work fine he hears there's no laugher he hears you humming under your breath as you tend to max as much as the doctor will allow. The songs you danced to.

Max adores nicknames. Especially quirky ones you wouldn't hear anyone else call their loves

"hey, gingerbread." And her nose crinkled.

"ick. Hi loser." But she's smiling.

Her all time favorite is princess. She won't admit it but she always wants to play princess as a kid with her dad or a brother who could play the knight. But for a long time she was an only child. And her parents weren't all there.

Tell anyone and she'd deny it but you and Lucas take turns playing the knight that saves her just like in her fantasies as a kid. She has a paper princess crown and stands on top of the not-much-used anymore Sinclair families play set giggling as the two of you fight and she cheers you on no matter who you're playing that day. And Lucas frowns when he's knight because his fair princess has a case of Stockholm apparently

Max is very still as you read her princess tales in her coma. She might not even hear you but you change ever princesses description to look like her and every knight to look like Lucas. The same Lucas who watches you frown because there is never another knight in the love story.

Lucas who goes home after visiting hours and comes back the next day with a poorly drawn book about a fairy princess and her two knights

Max and Lucas love to give small passing kisses to one another. and when they see you watching them intensely with cheeks puffed of air they cover your entire face.

Max taste like sugar.

Max smells like cherry cola

Lucas taste like mint. Smells like it too.

Lucas carries Max's cherry cola chapstick in his pocket. It fell out of her pocket when the ambulance took her away. He makes sure to apply it for her. Max HATED hates having chapped lips. He smiles a little when he kisses you and you taste a bit like cherry cola.

Lucas loves sappy movies. He's a total cry baby under that new cool guy persona. He's such a sucker for a happy ending. "Fuck you guys how are you not in tears that was so touching"

"I guess we're just built different, you and us, stalker."

Lucas cries a lot after the doctor's talk to him.

He doesn't let you listen to the conversation sometimes.

"how about you read to Max. I'll be back. We're just still trying to find Ms. Mayfield."

He tells you what you need to know. He doesn't hide it from you.

She might not be ok

If when she wakes up she might not see.

You'll have to help her he says

Stranger Things Ship Ranks

I’ve seen people do this ship rank thing, so I thought I’d jump into the trend! Obviously, not every ship is on here so I put the most well known ones. I excluded the poly ships cause I personally don’t have any opinions on them

Byler 1000000000/10- Beautiful. Amazing. Spectacular. Inspiring. They are legends. They are icons. And they are the moment.

In all seriousness though, this ship is amazing. They’re both so in love and it’s just a gorgeous friends-to-lovers story. The fact that Will sees Mike as his knight in shining armor and Mike sees Will as the light of his life😭😭Jesus Christ these two are absolutely WHIPPED for each other and I LIVE for it

They’re just so happy with one other and I desperately hope they get together cause y’all best believe they’ll be the most adorable, loving, and iconic couple ever.

M*leven 0/10- Tbh, I used to ship milkvan back in 2017 when I first got into the show, but S3 ruined it for me. That, and I got into byler lol.

Honestly, these two work better as friends and El isn’t really ready for a romantic relationship yet. They both lie constantly, aren’t interested in each other’s hobbies, and most of the time they fight and don’t actually get to know one another.

Now platonic Elmike? I’m all for it! But romantic? Nope. I sincerely hope milkvan breaks up in S5 cause it’s honestly the best option for both of them and it’s about high time they did.

Jopper 10/10- I’ve shipped them since the very beginning. I read fanfic about them and even planned their wedding back in 2017. Their kiss/make out session was one of the few saving graces of volume 2. Need I say more?

Lumax 10/10- Another one of the best ships in the show. At first, I thought these two were cute in S2 but I didn’t think much of them. Then in S3, they were kinda iffy but again, I didn’t have an issue with them.

But then in comes S4 and suddenly I’m hooked on them. They’ve matured so much and they’ve grown from a cute couple to a genuine, loving relationship. And the fact that Max listened to Lucas’s big game despite not being there was adorable and Lucas not leaving Max’s side even when the portals were opening. That’s devotion right there🥺

Hopefully we’ll see more of them in S5 when Max wakes up.

J*ncy 0/10- Ooo this is probably gonna upset someone but yeah, I don’t ship jancy. Like, at all. I’ve never cared for them as a couple and I honestly find them a little boring. I’m just sick of the whole “jancy vs stancy” thing and honestly just want Nancy to end up single cause she’s better off for it

St*ncy 0/10- Same thing I said for jancy: I don’t care for it. Never have, never will. I don’t know why the writers brought it back for S4 but they did and I hate it.

We’ve clearly seen that Steve and Nancy don’t work together so why did they bring it back? It’s not like there was a high demand for it.

Not to mention, that scene where Steve admits to having six kids with Nancy was honestly pretty cringe.

Just please for the love of god, let Steve move on from Nancy. Please. No one cares about this ship war anymore

Stonathan 10/10- One of my ride or dies. It’s a small ship but I’ve loved it since I first got into Stranger Things.

The potential they have, the enemies-to-lovers trope, the introvert and the extrovert, the loner and the popular boy, the photographer and the jock, it’s all right THERE.

I don’t understand why the writers don’t have them interact cause Joe and Charlie have great chemistry together and they’re both tired of stancy and jancy so just have Steve and Jonathan get together. Boom, problem solved

Ronance 6/10- I’ve shipped ronance since S3, before it was cool and popular. And yeah I still do, but not as much as before and I honestly prefer Nancy as single.

But I still think they’re adorable together and their dynamics in S4 were perfect. Sunshine and grumpy🥰

St*ddie 0/10- Yeah no I don’t get it. I don’t understand the appeal of this ship. If you like it fine, but I honestly think it’s overhyped and people just made it into a bigger deal then what it actually is.

Not to mention, the fandom ruined it by being awful to Grace Van Dien, harassing Joseph Quinn, and just generally being toxic.

Jargyle 5/10- Whilst I personally don’t ship it, it get the appeal. Stoner bfs who are cute and high together. What more could you want?

Eddissy 10/10- Alright, I’m just gonna say it: this ship gets way too much hate for no reason.

People say they hate it cause it’s a straight ship but then go and ship jopper and lumax. They say it’s gross cause apparently Chrissy is like 16 but like: Chrissy was the cheerleading captain, a position often given to seniors, she had a necklace with the number ‘86 on it (her graduating year), and Grace Van Dien confirmed that for the casting, Chrissy was always meant to be 18.

And if you don’t wanna take her word for it, then Joseph Quinn literally confirmed in an interview that yes, Eddie did indeed have a crush on Chrissy. Hell, his last concert was dedicated to her.

I don’t understand why people hate this ship so much when the shippers are literally just minding their own business.

But anyways, yes I adore hellcheer and think they would’ve been an adorable couple. Stay mad✌🏼

Rockie 9/10- Another ship that gets unnecessary hate. Yes I know Vickie is underdeveloped but like, that’s no excuse to hate her or the ship. I get not caring for her, but hate? That’s a little much.

I hope she and this relationship get more development in S5 cause her and Robin are honestly cute together.

Elmax 7/10- Like Jargyle, I don’t ship elmax but I totally get the appeal. El is so much more confident and happier with Max than she is with Mike. She was learning to be her own person and finding out what she liked. With Max, El was allowed to have fun and be a kid and not worry about people using her for her powers.

Not to mention, she got the will to fight in volume 2 not because of Mike’s speech, but because Max was in danger.

So while I don’t ship them, I definitely get why others do.

Henderhop 8/10- It’s a small ship but I ship it nonetheless. While they’re most likely not gonna be canon, I honestly think Dustin would be a much better boyfriend for El than Mike. Hell, I think any of the party members aside from Will (cause that’s her brother) would treat El better than Mike (sorry Mike)

Whether platonic or romantic, Dustin and El’s relationship is sweet and I love how he sees her as an absolute badass.

DustinxSuzie 3/10- Eh they’re fine. They’re cute but that’s really about it. I don’t really care about Suzie but her relationship with Dustin is cute and that’s all I can say tbh.

H*rringrove 0/10- I don’t like B*lly so no. Just. No

Okay, first of all it’s never to much because I absolutely adore talking about stranger things.

DISCLAIMER: I am not trying to attack anyone or make anyone feel bad these are just my opinions. I will tag this accordingly.

Hopper- DILF, the end.

Okay, but in all seriousness I absolutely love Hopper. I love his development and his desire to protect the people he loves. I don’t care what anyone says, Hopper is a great dad. He isn’t perfect (no one is) but he always did his best to protect El. Once she came into his world, she become his world. One of my favorite moments with them was in season three when they were at the mall and he told El that she, “didn’t have to do this” (I’m paraphrasing) meaning fight the monster thing the mind flayer made. He always let her know there was an option not to use her powers, which was something that she had never had before. Also another one of my favorite hopper moments was when he basically threatened Mike. I don’t care what anyone says that was hilarious.

Stranger things as a whole:

Is it perfect? No, but no media is. It is extremely enjoyable and I love it. It’s extremely endearing and I love how all the scary monster stuff is contrasted with the kids being goofy and being friends. This has quickly become one of my favorite shows and I forgot how much I loved it until I watched season 4 and went back and watched seasons 1-3.

Ships:

I have many many thoughts on this. I’m just going to do the mainish ones so if I leave any out I’m sorry.

Jopper: Absolutely perfect

Stancy: I am going to make some people mad but I feel like a large majority of Stancy shippers view Nancy as some sort of consolation prize for Steve. I can see why people ship them but I think it does a disservice to their character development to have them get back together. In the wise words of Winston Schmidt, “don’t be a backslider”

Jancy:(is that the ship name idk)

He took pictures of Nancy when she was naked without her knowledge or consent. “Oh but that was a long time ago so much happened since then” I literally don’t care. He barely apologized and they just never talked about it again. It’s super weird. I love Jonathan and I don’t think he is a bad person. I just think being in a relationship with someone who did that to you is super weird. This is more on the writers for how they handled it tbh.

Lumax: Absolutely perfect. I adore them with my whole heart.

Ronance: I absolutely love this. It’s very wonderful.

Vicky x Robin: They are super cute!!! They have really good potential and I am curious to see where they go with that. Also having similar quirks does not mean they are carbon copies of each other. Calm down people.

Steddie: Amazing. 10/10. My wonderful beautiful friend @tyrannusbasiltons writes fic for them and it’s amazing.

However, a lot of the shippers need the calm the fuck down and stop harassing that poor actress that plays Chrissy.

Eddie x Chrissy: SUPER CUTE!!! I love the idea of it and it’s very sweet. Also they have very cute fanart.

Mileven: They are very cute!! I do enjoy them, not as much as I used to though. They have a very sweet pure teenage love.

Byler: This is a very cute ship. I support Will Byers in all his romantic efforts even if I believe he could do better. One of my favorite pastimes is watching Byler edits to Taylor swift songs. My personal opinion is that Mike is Bi. I think there is real validity to this ship. It would be cool if they could make it cannon but in all honesty I just want Will to end season 5 happy with a boyfriend. Doesn’t have to be Mike.

Also this is conflicting cause I absolutely adore El and want her to have the whole entire world. I do think it would be good for both El and Mike to date other people though.

Elmax: Absolutely perfect. 100/10. I think this ship is super adorable.

Bro i just finished season 3 and there’s too much mileven ;-;

I mean I do think they’re cute but NOT ROMANTICALLY. Platonic eleven is where its at.

It makes me lose hope lowkey but then I remember that season 4 exists and Mike Wheeler is NOT straight at all. As straight as a mfin circle. You cant tell me he wasn’t infatuated with Eddie CMON its confirmed he even grew his hair out to be like him 😭

I get scared sometimes tho 💀 like what if they don’t break up. But they def will. Honestly as long as Mileven breaks up PLZ

Mileven just doesn’t have that chemistry that Lumax and Jancy and even Elmax and Byler have. And they never will and its so OBVIOUS like you don’t even have to be a Byler to notice it. Bro even one of my teachers said Byler has so much more chemistry than Mileven and she thinks will and Mike should get together and I love her for that 😭 and shes like in her late 40s sooo

It’s not even delusional to think it’ll be canon like there’s stuff everywhere cuz everything is so intentional. Its so POSSIBLE and in my opinion they ARE endgame 100% idc you cant change my mind.

I mean the szn is really good and I like the aesthetics too like the MALL and the OUTFITS r all so cool. it’s fun I mean I love Stranger Things but I just hate how apart Will and Mike were the whole season and the way Mike ACTED like dude chill tf out 💀💀 and then Will was hardly ever shown again, this is like the last few episodes of the season.

But ofc we have the famous “its not my fault you dont like girls!” Mike, your internalized homophobia is showing 🤭

Its funny cuz I always LOVE the first 2-3 episodes of each season and then obviously it gets sad 😭 and hella action too but its still good BUT I HATE WHEN CHARACTERS DIE LIKE POOR ALEXAI WTF?? He deserved better and so did Bob obviously.

Nobody better die in season 5 istfg. Like all of the OG cast has to survive PLEASE LET THEM LIVE.

I also watched the first ep of season 4 and I love Chrissy but ofc, vecna put her out of her suffering, and unfortunately I think Will is also gonna get vecnad in szn 5 cuz my boy has been thru it ALL. When is he not being hurt in some way he deserves nothing but happiness.

Like whats gonna happen after Will confesses to Mike? I mean I still can’t believe it, it’s actually happening and the painting and all that and then he’s gonna be so sad cuz he’ll think Mike doesn’t feel the same and I have SO many fanfic ideas honestly

Also I adore Elmax SO MUCH I honestly wish they could be canon I just love them they’re so prefect for each other. Max is the #1 Mileven anti lmao. I keep remembering how she wanted to be friends with Mike in szn 2 but he was so rude to her like BRO WTF. I still like Lumax but like…consider Elumax.

But El deserves better and she does deserve to be on her own away from Mike.

Also Robin’s coming out scene will never not get me I LOVE HOW SUPPORTIVE STEVE IS i freaking love Steve I mean like honestly who doesn’t?

BUT CAN YOU BELIEVE STRANGER THINGS LITERALLY STRAIGHT BAITED EVERYONE WITH STOBIN? LMAOO

So is it rlly a reach to say Mileven was straight bait cuzzzz

I rlly love Robin and Vickie which r definitely ending up together (with Byler cuz they also kinda parallel each other) but I am very fond of Ronance I love it.

AND THEN JOPPER I ALSO LOVE THEM. Remember when they were like “theres nothing romantic between us we’re just friends.” And then the “we’re a team” and it reminded me so much of that one Byler scene in szn 4 which im pretty sure has been pointed out but yeah the PARALLELS.

And also Jancy had that “oh we’re just friends” moment before they got Murrayed like Jopper. Murray getting matchmaking all the Byers? PERIOD. He better finish that in season 5.

Also why do I lowkey ship Murray and Alexai like that wasn’t just me right? Fuck it

will/mike both being vulnerable with each other and when they grow apart it feels like their “world” and the connection they slowly and cautiously built up over the years has collapsed, so much of their happiness is tied up with one other and both feel at different times that the other is ignorant or uncaring about this fact 😭

second verse is so milkvan from mike’s perspective energy (or lowkey el’s pov if she was mad that mike liked will even though i dont think she will be bc she doesn’t really love mike and she adores her brother obviously willel supremacy)

i also feel like even though the events in this song in particular aren’t super 1:1 with the byler storyline the emotions that are present during their fights are super there especially in the second verse, conan calling out his person feels a lot like wills calling out mike in s3 and s4 fights

crying because why is the first two lines mike and the second two will 😭😭 it’s like a fucking romantic movie where they are both singing this song alone and the camera is cutting between the two 😭😭 i’m delirious

byler used to be close when younger and then they both started getting conscious of their feelings and homophobia and starting pulling away and getting weird about holding hands, sleepovers, etc. and they grew apart and lost their love and will especially doesn’t want to hope that it’ll come back because heteronormativity and homophobia have made him believe that people like him dont get love 😭 also them both sort of mutually recognizing and hating the distance between them but not knowing what to do about it, seeing right through the others lies and deep down knowing they love each other but still believing and accepting that their love can never happen 😭😭😭

this song definitely can be from wills pov about milkvan or whatever but personally i don’t think milkvan has a close enough relationship even through wills unreliable narrator pov to justify the beginning and really this song is 100000% mike

the beginning is definitely mikes pov of lumax or some other genuine couple who actually love each other and being “happy for them” but also being jealous of their love and freedom to love and really wanting that (for him and will)

4. There actually isn't much I ship in Stranger Things aside from Steddie and Lumax, but there also isn't much I actively don't ship! I think Byler is absolutely adorable and I love fics that explore it, Mileven is super cute in canon and every time I see a gif of how he makes her smile it warms my heart, I can get on board with just about any Robin ship as long as it makes Robin happy!

14. Every time I see something Jargyle cross my dash, it just immediately makes me smile. There's something about the two of them together that I just love, and I kind of want to write fic with them someday.

This scene establishes The Lean TM as I will henceforth refer to it.

El is saving him for lots of complicated reasons. She believes that she will be "replaced" afterwards. She wants to make her friends happy. She may believe in a consequence otherwise. And because she of course wants Will to stay alive. Her life so far has sucked ass.

El says "are you real?". She isn't sure such a thing as a sister who won't betray her could happen in this life!

ANYWAYS. Onto some POTENTIAL meanings!

The Lean TM is not inherently romantic OR platonic. El did not even KNOW Will and did not feel anything PERSONALLY about him when she Leaned in ST1.

She EVENTUALLY got to know Will- AFTER The Lean TM. THEN their relationship is platonic.

But initially- sheer desperation. WHO Will was had nothing to do with it. The outside forces, that being (oversimplified) El's desire to SAVE Will. Not any feelings she had towards him.

This then changes for The Lean TM 2.0! El and Lucas KNOW Max! BUT assuming this is about OUTSIDE feelings- desperation had RUN the FUCK OUT- replaced by SHEER FUCKING SHOCK AND TERROR because A) Max is literally DEAD right now and B) fuckin Vecna and the apocalypse

THIS information gives us a few potential meanings:

The Lean TM represents outside feelings. It is a contrast between the relatively more hopeful eyes of a twelve year old, be she alone, than the jaded girl two years later. But she's got friends now. And also The World's Problems still exist. (Dead children equals world problems, alone v w/ friends obvi, and hopeful but desperate v already dead.) Supposed resurrection represents that it is never too late.

The Lean TM represents that those involved will have their relationship to eachother, or their impression of the other, changed in the future. Even THIS could mean a hundred things in its own!!

Siblings-ass pair did it first, another elmax siblings thing, does that make lumax paralleled to siblings??? I am HESITANT AS SHIT about this one because the point of parallels indicating interpersonal relationships is the characters' feelings- and in The Lean TM 1.0, you could hardly call willel "siblings" PLUS it would be weird to make lumax be like a siblings pair atp imo.

The funny thing is, Max in Stranger Things Four is actually more similar to Stranger Things FOUR El than to Stranger Things Two El. They both have feelings of guilt right now, and have trouble convincing themselves that they "deserve" friends and family, or for anything good to happen to them.

In Stranger Things Two, El is ACTIVELY SEARCHING for this family rather than avoiding it (though ST4 Max moves into this direction as well, the former is more connected to the nature of Max's Vecna Visions)

It's also totally different from the nature of their relationships, let alone the types!

El at the point of quote one ONCE AGAIN doesn't know Kali at ALL. By the time Max sees El, she is already familiar enough with El to believe that she could conjure her from memory!

1: LUMAX

Lucas is a BASKETBALL COACH (argue with the WALL) and Max is his hot MILF wife and she's probably a hockey (or soccer, or volleyball or even baseball) coach for the same school he coaches at (I literally don't really even know why but I just FEEL the energy with her yk?) and they both live in CALIFORNIA together and NOBODY can change my mind. (P.S THEY ALSO HAVE TWO KIDS)

2: EL.

El works at a HAIR SALON. (argue with ur mother on this one look Ik she's gonna die in season 5 but LET ME BE HAPPY FOR ONCE, LET ME LIVE MY FANTASY) and she's literally the NICEST barber EVER and she's rlly good at her job and she lives in a apartment in Chicago or New York or some city and she has TWO CATS called MITTENS and DAISY and they are literally like her children, like she'd commit ATROCITIES for those Cats. she has a CRUSH on her neighbor called Stephanie and she literally CANNOT get the courage up to talk to her, she loves fashion, and she has a CURATED jewelry collection. but she has such a GRANDMA sense of style yk? like after El experiments with her style and everything it is STRAIGHT to the the Long knitted cardigans and Long maxi skirts and her hand knitted crochet hats and scarves and flowy long sleeve dresses.

also El hand-knitted STOCKINGS for Max and Lucas on Christmas Eve and she also made little booties for Lucas and Max's Kids and it was the most ADORABLE thing EVER I swear to GOD- 😭

3: DUZIE.

Dustin is a full-fledged SCIENTIST, he's your odd and quirky college lab professor who's a little bizarre sometimes but is actually pretty cool and funny, him and Suzie teach at the same college (AWWW) and they actually have a lot of kids (don't ask me why those are just the vibes) and they are literally all like Dustin which annoys Suzie but in like a fondness kinda way, all of his kids are eccentric and really bright, and yk that Dad thing where they hold their kids upside down by the legs and spin them around the air like a monkey? yeah Dustin does that and it totally freaks Suzie out LMAO, their Family is literally so LOVING and PERFECT and SWEET that it makes me wanna CRY 😭 😭 😭 DUZIE IS THE BEST FR.

1. Preference: Does the trio get together all at once, or do two people start dating first and then confess to the third?

lumax definitely start dating first and then max gets a crush on el but she doesn't talk to lucas about it bc, yknow, 80s, and then when she falls into her coma, lucas and el start getting closer and closer and they realize they like each other, but they wait until max wakes up to decide what to do. el's the one to propose the idea of them all dating, and then they decide "fuck it, we've seen weirder stuff than 3 people dating" and just Do it.

2. Who organises the best date nights? Who puts the most effort into said date nights even when things go wrong? Who shows up in sweats and graphic tees but always knows exactly what to say or do?

i'm torn between lucas and el, but i'm going to say el. she doesn't like bring them out to restaurants but she sort of specializes the dates to cater to their tastes specifically, either individually or apart. like going to the skate park and learning how to skate or going hiking in the forest, stuff like that. and lucas has been assured he doesn't Have to look fancy so he just shows up in like. a hoodie or smt and they're all cool w it cause they're all wearing the same thing

HAPPY ENDING. max ends up blind but they don't care and keep going on date nights, they can't lose this or i will lose it.

lucas's and el's confessions was romantic and max's was sad because she's my favourite. it was cute, but she also admitted that she'd never been loved so much, never felt so loved, as when she's with the two of them and also admits that it's a pretty low bar to jump in the first place. lucas and el both confessed after max woke up though :)

20. What got you into Elumax/Lumax/Elmax/Hopclair?

Lumax: i instantly fell in love with max the moment she came on screen and their interactions were so cute and i was instantly sold, but after deeply psychoanalyzing max i realized just how good lucas is to her and for her and vice versa, so i really just adore it <3

Elmax: i have to admit, i didn't really get requited elmax vibes in st3, unlike most people seemed to think (though it's growing on me!!!), but the elmax interactions were way too fruity to pass over my head, and my brain just rang the alarms

Elumax: same as the above, really. i saw how they interacted and just fell in love with the dynamics. after all, you can't go wrong with two golden retrievers and their angry red chihuahua

Hopclair: idk whether i like them more as besties or as lovers, but either way i do know i completely adore them and i get why people ship them :D one-sided-rival to tentative friends to best friends to lovers baby!

i am indeed a multishipper!! if i'm honest i didn't ship byclair until i saw a few edits and posts about them, but i think they're really really cute!! i'm more of a dustin x will shipper (i don't even know their shipname tho) because i love their dynamic.

tbh i just think the three dumbasses are dating will because he deserves love and affection and tbh who wouldn't fall for him??? they're all head over heels for that boy istg

i don't have a lot of byclair hcs because i'm not really into the ship, but i do have some ideas!! (btw lucas and max are still dating here! this is kind of a polyam thing but i actually only talk about byclair)

lucas had a crush on will (and vice versa tbh) when they were kids. like he would always ask him to draw him or come to his house to play together just because he wanted to spend time with him alone.

lucas was always ALWAYS trying to act tough and cool when will paid attention to him and he loved the way tiny will will giggled at him. lucas obviously stared, mesmerized by him, and dustin already knew they liked each other.

ofc dustin teases lucas all. the. time. about his crush on will. but he never actually tells lucas that he knows, he just stares at him, done with all of his attempts trying to make will laugh. lucas is so damn confused because he doesn't know yet, he just likes seeing will happy.

will loves lucas' jokes. like everything he does makes will laugh and giggle and blush and kick his feet. especially when lucas tries to flirt with him and ends up being super cringey. will finds adorable how hard he tries.

when lucas starts dating max, he finds himself rambling non-stop about will. she smiles one day and jokes about lucas being in love with him, but turns out that that's how he realizes he is, indeed, in love with will. he starts panicking and saying that he still loves max! he can't understand how he can love two people at the same time! but max tells him that it's okay, and that she doesn't care "sharing" him with will. she just wants to see lucas happy. (ofc she knows will is in love with him too he's so obvious and max is too smart to not notice).

will doesn't really care that lucas and max are dating. i mean- he does care, but he loves seeing lucas happy. he didn't even consider having a chance with him, anyway.

they definitely start dating in s3 because mike is always busy with el and will spends a lot of time with lumax!! lucas finally gains the courage to ask will to hang out together alone one day, and confesses. will is worried about max and their relationship, but lucas tells him to not worry about it. they both smile so widely that day i'm gonna cry-

this is me realizing that i actually like byclair more than i thought!!! anyway, back to the hcs:

when they start dating lucas is such a gentleman. like really polite and extremely sweet and he often overacts to make him laugh.

will loves to draw will the wise and lucas the ranger together <333 boyfriends irl boyfriends in dnd too!! (madmax is there with them too sometimes as the zoomer)

when they tell the others, dustin rolls his eyes and says "finally". that causes a fight between him and lucas "what do you mean finally?????". el is really happy for them, and mike ummm i just can't imagine a world in which mike isn't hopelessly in love with will so i'm pretty sure he would be sort of angry at first (it's called jealousy, wheeler) but idk bro deal with your internalized homophobia first and then join the polyam couple

letters so many letters so many damn letters telling him about how much he misses will and loves him <33 ofc will does the same thing, and he often sends him drawings of stuff he sees in cali that remind him of lucas!! (one day he also sent him a drawing of the beach so he could give it to max and try to fix things with her)

when they find each other again at the end of s4 will hugs lucas so so so tight because he was worried sick about him. lucas does the same thing, ofc, but he's too sad about max to have enough strength and just lets will hold him

i should stop writing this much istg BUT!!!!

they cuddle in the hospital room when nobody is around while they take care of max. will often kisses lucas' forhead because he finds it comforting
