Steve tries to stay quiet while he gets ready for work, but Eddie hears him. He keeps his eyes closed and just listens- to Steve grumbling to himself when his hair doesn’t sit quite right, who starts to hum and whisper some catchy song. Eddie turns his sleepy gaze onto Steve as he shuffles around their room- watching quietly as he slips on his clothes, his shoes, a simple chain with Eddie’s ring around his neck. A warm, affectionate smile breaks across his face. Before he leaves, Steve glances at what he expects to be a sleeping Eddie, but instead, he’s met with a rasped, ‘Hey.’ Eddie sits himself up, stretches his arm across Steve’s side of the bed, and reaches, fingers wiggling. Steve crosses the room to cradle his face.

Their foreheads press, noses bump, and Steve brushes his fingers across scars and dimples.

He breathes a quiet,

‘Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.’

Eddie huffs a tired laugh,

‘You know I never mind.’

Because, yeah.

Every morning Steve tries to stay quiet while he gets ready for work, but Eddie always hears him.

i think i’m cured because i had the energy to put my hair up today for the first time in months! enjoy this picture of me, cured, accidentally framed with a tree growing out of my head

it’s more a cruller-based style than leia cinnamon buns, but you’ll have to trust me because i haven’t figured out how to take better pics of my hairstyles. i should, so i can document a bunch of my star trek type ones and then finally cut my hair lol. many of the tng era “just add an elaborate braid” styles aren’t too hard to do by myself, so i used to wear them to work, feeling like an enterprise officer getting ready for a stylish bridge shift.

i’m tempted to attempt some wires? or pipe cleaners? or something to try and get taitt’s braids from “descent.” sadly, i have determined the classic janice rand basketweave is impossible without a wig.

#sun protection #skincare #you don't even have to use a tanning bed or lay out in the sun or whatever #neither of my parents have ever intentionally tanned; they just seldom wore sunscreen for decades #and they've both had pre-cancerous cells chemically burned off their faces #no such thing as a safe tan in the long run. it's not that you should stress yourself out about it #but you SHOULD take reasonable precautions #(and yes dark-skinned people too. Black people tend to have worse outcomes with melanoma because doctors trained on light skin #may not catch it soon enough) #Everyone! Needs! Sun Protection! #It is not a frivolous beauty thing!
