Verse(s): Vampire Diaries, Originals, and Legacies
As a kitsune, Zoro has Canidae (fear and hatred of dogs, wolves, coyotes, etc.). Hayley and Hope are the only exceptions to this fear/hatred. Hayley because of how they met and Hope because he's known her her whole life. It also helps she's only a third wolf.
Zoro is always armed with his three Katanas, using his illusion magic to make it so that any mortals unaware of the supernatural world can not see them.
The reason why Zoro originally agreed to protect Hope is because he owes Hayley a life debt. She saved him in Mystic Falls when they first met and as a Kitsune, such a debt is soul-binding for his people. Promises and thanks are not made lightly for they can easily become oaths or debts owed to another. Learning of this truth from a witch Hayley consulted when looking for ways to protect her daughter she called in the debt. Transferring it from herself to her daughter with one simple request. Protect her until she can protect herself.
Zoro's Earings
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the blood oath to protect is made, Zoro changes one of the three sword earrings at his ear to a wolf. The change symbolizes that his life is no longer bound only to a life by the sword. One day, when Hope is discouraged by the fact that she is the only one of her kind and all those she loves seem to leave her he changes them once more. Each earing becomes a symbol for Hope's three legacies, a silent promise and a sign to her at all times that she is not alone. Allowing Hope to pick out the earings, thus how he ended up with a broom for witches.

no chill to be had in all the fanfic writing universe
So...here is a quick behind-the-scenes look at my mapping for my next two big projects, all the ground beneath like tears and blood (Game of Thrones/Vampire Diaries fusion AU, 29 chapters) and some nights the lighthouse, some nights the sea (Game of Thrones S7 canon divergence AU, 27 chapters).
The biweekly updates are probably a little too ambitious, considering my chapters tend to be 10k beasts but I am hoping to write a tad bit less per chapter in order to keep to a weekly schedule. I also toss in month-long breaks between acts because I’m THAT type-A about scheduling.
Anyway. Here’s to hoping these chapter synopses will start rolling in now. :’)
(Also this blame is split evenly between @moondancer71 and @jellybeanficwriter who for SOME mysterious reason I cannot tag to yell at)

Prompts List.
“I get lost in your eyes, so be sure to map out your eyes.” “That’s sweet, what did you break?”
“You have to understand, I did it to protect you!”
“You can break my soul, take my life away.. Beat me, hurt me, kill me. But for the love of God, don’t touch him.”
“We are lost in the middle of the sea, and you want me to kiss you? Fuck off.”
“You evil child! I will tell mommy what you did!”
“Is this girl pretty?”
“You left me in the middle of the mall so you can play in the kids area?”
“What? The world is ending?”
“Please tell me that I don’t have a tail.”
“What are you doing in my body?!”
“So, you’re a werewolf, huh?”
“Which vampires are more real? The ones from Twilight or the ones from The Vampire Diaries?”
“You’re my anchor.”
“Keep your filthy hands off of my girlfriend.”
“Why did you throw holy water at my face?!”
“Your wings.. They’re beautiful.”
“Don’t lie to me please, I’m already hurting enough.”
“You cheated right in front of my eyes!”
“Congratulations, you win. You broke my heart.”
“I love you, but unfortunately you love him.”
“I’m tired of pretending that everything is fine when it’s not.”
“I love you.” “Stop lying.”
“You promised you wouldn’t do that again..”
“This is over.”
“I don’t love you anymore.”
“You don’t.. You don’t remember me?”
“I told you he would break your heart, but you never listened to me.”
“She is dead because of you, and now you’re sad that she is gone?”
“I’m not normal, you don’t want to be with someone who has a sick mind.”
“I told you not to look through your comments..”
“Why are you doing this to me? What have I ever done to you?”
“Get out of my life, I never want to see you again.”
“You were the only one who stayed by my side when everyone else left me.”
“I wanted to show how much you mean to me.”
“I’m just making sure you are not messing with her, cause if you are, I swear I’m going to tear you to pieces!”
“I really like kissing you.”
“I watch The Notebook with you because I love you.”
“I would give you my heart if you needed it.”
“I love you and your mommy so much.”
“You’re so cute when you’re angry.”
“That is not true, I love you.”
“Marry me.”
“You fell asleep on my shoulder, and I carried you inside.”
“Come on, I will give you a piggyback ride.”
“You look so beautiful wearing my shirt.”
“What kind of girlfriend would I be if I didn’t come to my boyfriend’s match?”
“God you’re freezing! Here wear my jacket.”
“You owe me now.” “We’re tied, remember?” “Then I call a tie breaker!”
“Until when are you going to stalk her?”
“Keep pretending that you don’t, but deep down there you’re whipped for me.”
“I’ve been trying all day, but I just can't stop thinking about her.”
“So you cut me out all these years and now that you are here, all you say is ’Hi’?!”
“Give me a kiss.” “Don’t make me knee you.”
“Eh, I mean you’re okay.”
“If you dare to touch my French fries I will cut your fingers.”
“I’m telling McGonagall that you cheated in the test!”
“Who do you like more, daddy or mommy?” “I love food.”
“Stop screaming like a little girl it’s fake!”
“Wait.. Is that? Isn’t that my popcorn?”
“If you had the chance you would cheat on me with your best friend, asshole.”
Please send requests using the prompt(s) you want, also please send through the ask or submitting a post. And don’t forget to read the Rules! Thank you. ❤︎
Ps. Bands we will be writing about: Astro, Ateez, BTS, EXO, GOT7, Monsta X, NCT (All units!), SEVENTEEN, SF9, Stray Kids, SuperM, The Boyz & TXT

It’s been a big year for us at Onyx Path! To hit just a few of the many highlights:
For our Onyx Path-owned games, we released Scion 2nd Edition (Origin and Hero) and Trinity Continuum (and Æon), the first games using our new in-house Storypath System.
For our partner games, we brought you Fetch Quest and (re)introduced Pugmire as our first Phone PDF, followed by Scion: Origin.
For our White Wolf license, you got Dragon-Blooded: What Fire Has Wrought and Changeling: The Lost 2nd Edition.
We finished up eight (!!!) successful Kickstarters, enabling the creation of a ton of new material and delivery of more books to retailers.
Our community creators led the charge with the unprecedented Vengeance of the Shunned event over the summer, and we opened up the Storypath Nexus for people to sell their own Scion material.
What was your favorite release, event, or announcement from Onyx Path this year?

How The Living Dead Completes Romero’s Zombie Legacy
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This post is sponsored by
George A. Romero figuratively wrote the book on zombies with his low-budget, independent 1968 horror film epoch Night of the Living Dead. World War Z, 28 Days Later, Zombieland and even The Walking Dead trudged that territory but didn’t map much new terrain. Romero’s final novel, The Living Dead, completed by author Daniel Kraus (The Shape of Water novelization), doesn’t expand on the basics of the zombie apocalypse. It doesn’t challenge the zombie trope Romero filled out with his subsequent works on animated corpses, when The Living Dead had their Day, Dawn, Land, Diary and Survival. But, with it, Romero and Kraus do peer deeper into the mirror to find a bitter reflection of the horrors Romero brings out in The Living.
The Living Dead is character-driven in ways the feature films could never be. In Night of the Living Dead, the audience didn’t know, nor would they have cared, whether Helen Cooper (Marilyn Eastman) put on weight after marrying Harry (Karl Hardman). But we know this about Rosa, the wife of novel protagonist Luis Accocola, the Assistant Medical Examiner who logs the first case of reanimation in The Living Dead. We also know Luis paid for Rosa’s education and had to wait to marry her because she was so much younger than him. We know Rosa suffered a miscarriage long before the recently deceased became the ambulatory diseased.
We’ll never know if “They’re Coming to Get You” Barbra (Judith O’Dea) ever dreamed of dancing with Fred Astaire at night. But we know Luis’s assistant Charlene Rutkowski recoils from the very sight of Astaire when her mother Mae tunes in to the classic movie channel because the top hatted, tuxedo-sporting tap dancer tries to lead in her nightmares. Even before John Doe becomes the archive in the novel’s version of Patient Zero, Luis wants to know more about his history, whether he mattered. Why the homeless man is dressed so fine, and why he doesn’t have the curved spine of the long-term vagrant. In this respect, he is Romero. The unimportant details may not solve zombification, but it holds clues to the fading humanity.
The Living Dead is a fitting end to Romero’s zombie chronicles. The novel form allows him to bring more of himself into the pages, each of the characters filled out with flavors Romero himself test-tasted. There is also a bittersweet meta irony to the fact that the horror genius died before finishing the work and it was reanimated by Kraus, an unabashed fan and likely successor to the “Father of the Modern Zombie Film.” He hides Romero “Easter eggs” throughout the book, while also bringing in references to the pandemic apocalypse novel The Stand. Romero worked frequently with Stephen King, adapting his writer’s nightmare The Dark Half, having a barrel of fun with Monkey Shines, and indulging their shared love of EC Comics with Creepshow. The feature film adaptation was even shot in the four color scheme which defined the magazine. They further explored the horrors of publishing with Bruiser. The city of Bangor, Maine, which is King’s home turf, is referenced within the first few pages. He and Romero are wonderfully horrific friends.
The Living Dead is divided into three acts. Act One tells the story through the introduction of disconnected characters. It unfolds like an archive from the future written from multiple points of view. The history is being put together by a team in Washington, led by the researcher Etta Hoffmann. She is autistic and unflappably records survivors’ stories. Goaded on by an internet troll named Chucksux69, News anchor Chuck Corso at the cable station WNN broadcasts the events as they come in, even though he has no idea if anyone can see him. He does this while his co-workers try to eat him. Similar things happen at sea, where the US Navy aircraft carrier Olympia becomes a floating arena where dead sailors face off against the living crew. The gospel of the dead is spread zealously by a preacher in the book.
“When there’s no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth,” Romero warned in Dawn of the Dead. The characters in The Living Dead have to learn this for themselves. The only problem with living in a world written by George A. Romero is that the inhabitants didn’t grow up in a world with Romero in it. They don’t know what to do when the dead won’t stay dead. One of the most consistent things about zombies, whether they’re found in the Living Dead universe or one of the many other genre works, is you kill them by shooting them in the head. It doesn’t have to be a gunshot; Daryl on The Walking Dead does the deed with a bow and some arrows (though that series has gone on for a full decade without ever using the word zombie). From the very first ambulatory corpse, played by Bill Hinzman in Night of the Living Dead, to the present, a fractured skull is the only way to stop chomping teeth. Try telling that to the people in the book.
Why do zombies keep on biting? Day of the Dead posited the corpses reanimate because of primitive impulses in the spinal column. We, the audience, know from that movie onward it was because of special effects wizard Tom Savini. It would be nice to think of his hand on the elderly zombie in the novel who tries to gum someone to death. In The Living Dead, we learn zombies just wake up hungry. “This hunger is different from any you knew before,” a chapter opens. “This hunger is a lack. Something has been taken from you. You do not know what. This hunger is everywhere. Hunger, the fist. Hunger, the bones. Hunger, the flesh. Hunger, the brain.” Zombies aren’t evil, they are animalistic. Humans, on the other hand, are free to act horribly. If this particular horror niche is dead it can be reanimated here with this book. Night of the Living Dead brought the genre to life. The Living Dead gives Zombies souls.
When Romero and some friends shot the indie film for just over $100,000 that would become The Night of the Living Dead, the country was going to hell. The Vietnam War was bringing death to the dinner table daily on the evening news. The generation which grew up in the shadow of the nuclear bomb was pulling away from a rotting society, unraveling like an exposed lower intestine. While women sew American flags sometime between “Year Fucking Six” and “Year Fucking Seven” of The Living Dead, Johnny and Barbara walk past a shredded flag as they enter the cemetery where their father is buried at the start of the film that started it all. The wreath is an empty gesture. Johnny can’t even remember what their father looked like.
Inspired by Richard Matheson’s 1954 novel I Am Legend and its film adaptation The Last Man on Earth, starring Vincent Price, Night of the Living Dead reincarnated Zombie movies. Once the realm of island magic culturally appropriated by actors like Bela Lugosi and George Zucco, zombies were now hungry legions munching on the living. Brains were not yet the delicacy The Simpsons would make them out to be. The undead are a metaphor for whatever we want to put on them. Romero is a political artist and the book is contemporary. Like the ill-equipped national response to COVID-19, we watch an unprepared society face a cataclysmic event and come apart at the seams. Similar to the effects of the quarantine, the zombie apocalypse is good for the environment. Also mirroring our times, the zombies infest a hate-filled world though they prove to be an equalizer of all classes and in the toxic racial divide.
“Someone dies, someone else learns to live,” Greer, a Black teenager who escapes an overridden trailer park in the Midwest at the beginning of the novel, is taught. Minority characters feature prominently in The Living Dead. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated the year Night of the Living Dead was released. In the film, Ben, a Black character played by Duane Jones, survives the undead campaign, the tribal maneuvering of the other captive combatants around him, casual bigotry and betrayal only to be shot in the head by passing zombie thrill-killers. The final moments of the film shows photographs of men with dead zombies which look eerily similar to lynch mob photos.
Romero didn’t only use the undead as a political metaphor. They are endemic to all society. The Zombies aren’t the only brain-dead or dying characters in his films or the novel. In The Living Dead, most of the people’s minds are already infested by paranoid distrust of the news media and the hatred encouraged by social media. Luis’s life is saved at one point because he’s not flipping through his cell phone as he usually does. He actually notices the looks on the people’s faces. In Romero’s 1978 installment Dawn of the Dead, the citizenry’s minds were numbed by TV, radio and consumerism. Its biggest scene happens in a Pittsburgh shopping mall with muzak playing in the background.
Act Two summarizes what would be the territory of 1985’s Day of the Dead (which gave zombies class-consciousness), 2005’s Land of the Dead, and Romero’s “found footage” installment Diary of the Dead (2007), but takes a turn at 2009’s western Survival of the Dead. Subtitled “The Life of Death,” Act Two spans eleven years, all of which are being recorded in “The Hoffmann Archive of Tales from the New World.” We learn zombies are more like us than we might wish to believe. Like modern man wastes most of its animal-based consumer products, the zombies only eat five percent of their kill. They also hold grudges. Zombies outnumber humans 400,000 to one. Camels, lions and zebras are immune to reanimation, but chimps come back from the dead.
Straightforward as they may be, Romero’s films were rarely what they seemed through the action. Subversive social commentary runs through his 1978 vampire film Martin, which was more about unfettered schizophrenia than vampires. John Amplas played the title role in a very realistic, and very violent, exploration. He drugs and rapes his victims before drinking their blood. The Crazies (1973) was more about the society struck by a military biological weapon more than an epidemic containment film. The Living Dead is more than a zombie novel. It is a bitter parable.
Act Three moves 15 years after the apocalypse as survivors try to put together a new civilization amidst an evolving zombie population. It is a planetary reset. The museums are covered in graffiti and overgrown. People begin to read books, mix paint, shoot each other in the face when agitated. The dead win.
George A. Romero died on July 16, 2017, a relatively innocent time which, although it was only three years ago, seems very far away. Donald Trump rode a racist wave of xenophobia to the whitest White House the country has seen since President Andrew Jackson, but he was still treated as a joke. The Living Dead was written before COVID-19, the killing of George Floyd and a police force which militarized against protestors faster than the zombies could run in 28 Days Later. Romero and Daniel Kraus are visionaries who were able to make a parable of today’s times in almost real time. The news on Max Headroom came at you from 30 minutes in the future. The future legend of The Living Dead was predicted only months in advance to be delivered exactly on time.
The Living Dead will be available to buy and read on August 4th. It is now available for pre-order.

Age: 319 Species: Kitsune (Three-Tailed) Powers & Abilities: here Occupation (Legacies): Self-Defense and Combat Teacher Verse Heacanons

Growing up in a secluded area of ancient Japan, Zoro didn't have a normal childhood. For his small town was hidden in the mountains not because it was merely rural and far from other villages, but because they were Kitsune. The art of the sword came naturally to him, the drive to become the best pushing him as he learned the skill of duel wielding. Challenging Kuina, his childhood friend, daily. Their promise to each other to become the greatest guardians in the world his main motivation. For his town, the families there, and all who came to them, had formed an ancient promise to protect those of the supernatural world from threats both human and from within. When Kuina was killed by a vampire their childhood promise became his life's purpose.
Tumblr media
Leaving Japan at the age of three hundred and nineteen he traveled the world, growing in power and fame until he was known to all as the Demon Hunter. The one that would hunt down the supernaturals who threatened their communities' safety.
Finally, he was drawn to America, where signs of supernatural activity seemed to be growing stronger in the wake of the Originals movements and the trail the vampire he'd hunted for hundreds of years had left lead. Tracking the small leads and mysterious deaths to a town in Virginia called Mystic Falls he finally slew the vampire that had killed Kuina. Protecting an innocent human in the process, Elena Gilbert.
It was threw Elena that he met the rest of the growing supernatural community in the town. His instincts told him to remain even though his original prey had been slain, for something more was going on in this small town.
Tumblr media
Zoro leaves Mystic Falls and travels to New Orleans upon the request of Hayley. The young, soon-to-be mother, realizing that she was far in over her head and her growing fear for her unborn child drove her to reach out to him. Gaining from him a promise to protect her daughter above all else, for only he had no loyalties to any factions within the supernatural communities of the city.
Tumblr media
When Hope was sent away to school Zoro followed, not only because of the promise he'd made to her mother, but because the school had only just been founded and was home to the supernatural young. His promise all those years ago, to be a guardian to those that could not defend themselves, driving him to join Alaric in creating a safe place for the young to learn how to control their gifts. That and well, Hope was rather like the little sister he'd never had at this point.

Verse: The Vampire Diaries/The Originals/Legacies
Tumblr media
The reason why Zoro originally agreed to protect Hope is because he owes Hayley a life debt. She saved him in Mystic Falls when they first met and as a Kitsune, such a debt is soul-binding for his people. Promises and thanks are not made lightly for they can easily become oaths or debts owed to another. Learning of this truth from a witch Hayley consulted when looking for ways to protect her daughter she called in the debt. Transferring it from herself to her daughter with one simple request. Protect her until she can protect herself.

Friends, this has been a tough week.
So we’re going to actually provide you with all the usual material that comes after the Blurbs!, but this upper part of the blog where I try and ramble through some useful stuff; I’m keeping this short.
In fact, the topic I’m really writing about this week is on another blog post that I’m going to link to. The post concerns Matt McFarland and why we are no longer working with him, and further connected issues:
http://theonyxpath.com/?p=11633
Why? Because the topic is an ugly one. It’s not what I normally post about, and it’s not what you probably expect from your weekly MMN blog. But it is an important one, and it needs to be written.
But after discussing it during our monthly meeting, we decided on this method of delivering it to you. This way, the topic isn’t just sitting on top of wacky Blurbs! and business as usual, because that would be inappropriate to the subject matter.
At the same time, we think it is important for our community to read this even while it might run counter to the expectations of some of our folks who come here specifically because this is a relief from real-life issues, or even more importantly, for some of those people who are actually affected by the matter in question.
We really do not wish to minimize what they have gone through in any way.
Along the same line of thought, I’m not including any art up here, just this message. We’ll have lots of art next time. Finally, I’m putting some space between this and our usual tagline. Not because it is no longer appropriate, but because it represents what we can all achieve together in a cheerleading sort of way that is important, and we’ll get back to, but which isn’t right at this time.
Many Worlds, One Path!
BLURBS!

TODAY’S REASON TO CELEBRATE:
And another US holiday: boom, on top of last week. Presidents’ Day! Well, we’ve had a mixed bag with these guys, but some actually made a difference and set us on better paths because they were in office. And in this world…that’s worth a celebration!

So, it is one month before Gen Con.
Gen Con50th, actually.
You can see on the map above our 20′ x 30′ space, that we are sharing with our associates at Nocturnal Media and White Wolf. Our booth will have all sorts of books and other items for sale, an ongoing demo table that we intend to have a constant run of demos happening on every day that you can sit in on, and a further couple of tables for impromptu demo sessions.
Nocturnal will be right next to us, and they’re bravely trying to arrange demos and they will have products to sell, and White Wolf is next to them, and will have new news about V5 and related products, and I hear they may have other goodies especially for Gen Con.
Back at our Onyx Path booth, you’ll find Boppin’ Bill Bodden and Mike Hollywood running the booth under the baleful eye of Mighty Matt McElroy – they are the guys that with the know how as to what and who is where when it comes our products for sale and the rest of the team.
At different times, Mirthful Mike Chaney, Onyx‘s ever-lovin’ art director will be there helping out, and he has portfolio reviews scheduled if you want us to look at your artwork. Impish Ian Watson, our webmaster and Trinity Continuum guru will also be at the booth a fair amount of the time and he’d love to talk Trinity!
Development producer Rollickin’ Rose Bailey will also be in the booth between developer and translator meetings, and she might just have some Chronicles of Darkness and Cavaliers of Mars wisdom and demos to share with you. Naughty Neall Raemonn Price will be representing for Scion and just about any other of our games as he seems to know them all, and Matthew “Gentleman Gamer” Dawkins also has a wide knowledge of our games to share, particularly V20, as well as his new secret project he’ll be demoing at the booth!
Scarred Lands developer Scott Holden will be there, and we’re hoping he’ll be running demos as well as showing off the advance copies of the printed SL Players Guides and Wise and the Wicked 2. More news on Scarred Lands below.
Look out for Hunter: the Vigil 2nd developer Monica Valentinelli dropping in when she can, as well as other writers and devs who will try and drop by in between their busy schedules at other booths, like Black Hat Matt McFarland, Danielle Lauzon, Bill Bridges, Dixie Cochran, and many more.
Of course, I’ll be popping in and out of the booth talking to folks between panels and meetings. Catch me in a quieter time and I’ll be glad to sign some Magic cards (for a small gratuity).

Did I say panels? Well, of course we’re doing our famous panels for Gen Con again this year!

As always, times and rooms are subject to change by the lovable scamps at Gen Con.
And if you want to actually play our games, look out for our Onyx Path gaming room, once again run by the legendary Dave Martin and his dedicated and dangerous Wrecking Crew and associates.
This year, since it will be crazy with all the 50th Anniversary activities and crowds, how about you let us know in the comments here if you’re going? We’ll make sure to do something special for you if you do get to stop in and say hi!

In the run-down of the booth I did above, I mentioned how Nocturnal Media is bravely going to soldier on as best they can, and of course, I was talking about that in reference to the untimely passing of my good friend Stewart Wieck, Nocturnal‘s founder. His death has unfortunately had ramifications on the many directions he was hoping to take Nocturnal Media‘s game lines, but I understand that a bunch of them will still be available in their booth.
The most direct effect on us at Onyx, on a business level, is that we’ve had to step into Stew’s huge shoes (I mean that literally and figuratively – he was a big guy) and take over fulfilling the Scarred Lands Kickstarter and all the projects we started with that.
For the present, I’ve been delving into how Stew had structured the SL Kickstarter and BackerKit, and working with Steve Wieck and Stew’s family to make sure the printing and shipping of all those projects keeps moving forward. We won’t be able to sell the Scarred Lands books at Gen Con as Stewart hoped he’d be able to arrange, but we’ll have advances and demos, like I mentioned above.
Towards that, we’re releasing the PDF for the Dagger of Spiragos, the second part of our Spiragos adventure trilogy, this week. Our KS backers have already received theirs (if they were supposed to get them), so now everyone can check it out. On a personal level, I loved painting those skeletal gators on the cover! (See below in the BLURBS! for more details).
For the future, since Scarred Lands was always a game world we co-owned and which Stew and I always intended as something we’d have fun working on together, this is kind of a bittersweet experience. But, the world is still one of my favorites, and we still have lots of plans for bringing this new version of SL to a new audience, as well as to our community from the D20 days.
We’ll be announcing some of those plans at and around Gen Con, so keep an eye out!
Finally, I just wanted to shout out to our new friends at Studio2, who are currently packaging and prepping our Pugmire backer rewards ship-out! I’ll tell you more about these folks in a later blog, as I’ll let you in on the very awesome way they are going to work with us in the very near future.

Travel the long roads and deep seas in search of power and experience danger, or tackle the wilderness to hunt monsters and face death. Settlements large and small dot the black expanse with the promise of sanctuary, life, and community. These bastions of civilization present cold comfort, when playing host to vampire warlords and sadistic Cainite faiths. Whether led by a Prince, a coordinated belief, or hounded by monsters from without and within — no domain is truly the same as another.
Dark Ages Companion includes:
• Domains scattered across the world, from small fiefdoms to massive cities. Bath, Bjarkarey, Constantinople, Rome, Mogadishu, and Mangaluru each receive coverage.
• Apocrypha including plot hooks, new Paths, and mysteries to explore in your games.
• A how-to guide on building a domain within your chronicle, including events and servants necessary to make a domain as functional or dysfunctional as you wish.
• A study on warfare in the Dark Ages period, so combat in your chronicles can gain authenticity and lethality.
From the Primordial to your Chronicles, Beast‘s Building a Legend has risen in PDF and PoD formats on DTRPG.com!
http://ift.tt/2u1BBkU
CREATING A CHRONICLE IS REWARDING…
…so why should the Storyteller have all the fun?
The whole troupe should get in on the action, making for a chronicle that reflects the preferences and predilections of all the players.
Building a Legend is a guide for doing exactly that — making a cohesive chronicle, starting with character creation, for Beast: The Primordial. It includes advice on creating Storyteller characters, folding in real world history, and populating the Primordial Dream.
From the massive Chronicles of Darkness: Dark Eras main book, we have pulled this single chapter, Dark Eras: Requiem for Regina (Vampire: The Requiem Elizabethan London 1593). We have shared the world with monsters for millennia. In Elizabeth’s London, vampires built their own empire brick by bloody brick while Elizabeth I cemented her grip on newly Protestant England. Carefully balancing demands from those with Catholic and Lutheran sympathies, she forged a police state. Yet London emerged as a thriving cultural center, and from the crucible emerged a Kindred society forever changed.

What dark secrets do the eldest vampires hold? Find out in Thousand Years of Night for Vampire: The Requiem! Advance PDF version available now on DriveThruRPG.com. http://ift.tt/2sV8lZR
You may think that with a multitude of people coming, going, dying and running away, we’d be tired, done, or ready to give up. Instead, I find myself restless, looking for the next thing.  There’s always a next thing, and I for one am not yet ready to die.
– Elder Kincaid, Daeva Crone
This book includes:
• Detailed instructions on creating elder vampires, including how to base chronicles around them
• A look into the lives of elders, how they spend their nights, who they work with, and why including their roles in both their clans and covenants
• New Devotions, Merits, and Rituals for elder vampires
• The kinds of creatures that pose a threat to elder vampires, including Inamorata, Lamia, Sons of Phobos, a new elder conspiracy, and more
From the massive Chronicles of Darkness: Dark Eras main book, we have pulled this single chapter, Dark Eras: To The Strongest (Mage Death of Alexander 330-320 BCE). In the rise and fall of Alexander the Great’s Empire, armies marched and cultures clashed. In the birth pangs of Hellenistic civilization, Awakened sorcerers all over the ancient world met, fought, and joined together. In the chaos of Alexander’s assassination and the wars that followed, Cults became Orders amid conflicts still burning in the present day.

From the massive Chronicles of Darkness: Dark Eras main book, we have pulled this single chapter, Dark Eras: Three Kingdoms of Darkness (Changeling and Geist China 220-280). Famine weakens the empire, and war splits it apart. It is an age of ambition and strife, where the hungry dead walk the earth in great numbers, and the Lost must rely on their own kingdoms. Warlords and commoners, ghost-speakers and orphans — who truly serves the Mandate of Heaven?
On sale in PDF and physical copy PoD versions on DTRPG! http://ift.tt/2rp8hPL
From the massive Chronicles of Darkness: Dark Eras main book, we have pulled this single chapter, Dark Eras: The Wolf and the Raven (Werewolf and Geist Vikings 700-1100). The Viking expansion across Europe comes at a pivotal time in history, as new faiths rose to challenge the old and new ways threatened to sweep ancient tradition aside. The Forsaken sail with raiders and explorers, seeking new lands to claim and new spirits to conquer, while Sin-Eaters walk the battlefields bringing the honored dead to their final rewards. The world grows larger and more dangerous by the day, but there are great rewards for those brave enough to fight for them.

Curated by Matthew McFarland, developer of Changeling: the Dreaming Twentieth Anniversary Edition and featuring authors such as Myranda Kalis, Wren Handman, and Peter Woodworth, this C20 Anthology of Dreams is on sale in electronic/PDF and physical copy PoD formats on DTRPG.com! http://ift.tt/2snBT0X
We dream, and we tell stories. We dream of love and the sort of person who might complete us. We dream of horror and wake breathless. We dream of magic, of flying through the air, or breathing underwater. We dream of fantastic vistas and amazing monsters.
We dream, and then we wake, and we tell stories. Our dreams create the Kithain, the changelings. Our stories are sustenance.
Now on DTRPG, the EX3 Tomb of Dreams Jumpstart PDF/PoD jumps up for sale!
http://ift.tt/2qdriZU
Once, in the time before the gods forgot their names, when the world was flat and floated on a sea of chaos, there was an age of gleaming cities, untamed wilderness, enlightened devils, greedy spirits, and mighty heroes. This was the age of the Exalted, champions empowered by the highest of gods.
Tomb of Dreams will jumpstart your group’s Exalted game—all you need to start playing Exalted Third Edition is this book, pencils, and 10-sided dice. Included here are the game’s core rules, five pregenerated characters, and a self-contained scenario that can start a new campaign or that Storytellers can use in an ongoing chronicle. And for groups that already have the Exalted Third Edition main rulebook, Tomb of Dreams will serve as an introduction for new players and a quick reference during play—anyone intimidated by that prodigious volume need only read Part 1 of this book to get started.
What legends will they tell of your deeds?
CONVENTIONS! GenCon IS COMING. August 17th – 20th, Indianapolis. Our booth will actually be 20′ x 30′ this year that we’ll be sharing with Nocturnal Media and White Wolf. We’re looking at new displays this year, like a back drop and magazine racks for the brochure(s). FYI, 4-Day passes have sold out! First time ever! Here’s the map again of where we’ll be:
Next week, at RopeCon (the world’s largest volunteer run convention) in Finland, Monica Valentinelli, the Hunter: the Vigil 2nd Edition developer will be running a game of Doubting Souls, the Hunter Dark Era she wrote for Dark Eras 1 as well as talking about freelancing and game design. Matt McElroy will be running a high-powered Dread Names, Red List V20 game, and they both will be there talking about their work and Onyx Path. http://ift.tt/2tkNsuA
In November, we’ll be at Game Hole Con in Madison, WI. More news as we have it, and here’s their website: http://ift.tt/RIm6qP
