I must admit I'm actually quite impressed and jealous of George's ability to haunt Perez / Rbr in every single race no matter where he and they start
Dude it’s wild to me how we don’t talk more about George’s unhinged feral hatred of Red Bull in all forms.
Like it Makes Sense- his favourite people on the grid are Lewis and Alex, two people notoriously screwed over by them. He spent 10 years trying to get into Mercedes, their main rival. He (supposedly) turned down their junior offer as a teen in the pursuit of Merc. The man is practically custom built to abhor them and he takes their every action personally. HE EVEN DISLIKES THE REDBULL RING TRACK BC OF ITS NAME.
My favourite race (other than Brazil) in 2022 was the French GP bc George was so deeply mad at Perez he pulls performance out of his ass just to get past the fastest car on the grid so he can share a podium with Lewis. That’s the race Toto had to get on radio and tell him to shut up because he was so angry Perez pushed him off without penalty he kept ranting, and he then went out of his way in another race to do it back to him.
I’m also pretty sure George aims his ire at Perez just because he can’t reach Max, we all saw Barcelona 22 and Baku 23, if he could, George would spend half his races pissing him off. Calling AD21 unacceptable didn’t get him anything, so he decided he’s going to punish them personally by being as annoying as he can physically manage.

"I could write essays about how charles' relatable silly posts are part of his PR rebrand to create a stronger personal brand outside of ferrari like his PR moves are EXCELLENT"
Are you just going to be a tease and not write the essay? Because I would SIT DOWN for this essay.
he's an insane individual and with each new post on social he blows my mind. i have personal experience in PR and presenting an individual as a brand and let me tell you, the awareness charles has about himself is INSANE.
let's have a look at the subtle changes charles made in 2024 to his instagram:
here's his winter break feed from 2023:
Tumblr media
out of all these posts, only one could be considered as "silly" (the pizza eating one, HOWEVER, it was part of a carousel that also featured serious pictures of his training).
now let's look at 2024 winter break feed:
Tumblr media
i marked it on the feed itself, but he hasn't posted a single serious pic from his training in the dolomites (and he was on a 24hr skiing trip from italy to austria i may add so that would be a huge flex -- again no post). he chose to post a picture of him falling, a video of being insane and sliding down a mountain, and then eating an icecream in the snow.
now, re: his brand awareness, his lore goes CRAZY. back before christmas he had a Q&A on threads where he said his fave ice cream flavour was vanilla, people judged him. he went on to make a whole photoshoot with a vanilla ice cream. not many people would connect it, but it just shows how aware he is of what he shares with the general public.
he also now features much less ferrari on his IG. also worth noting that to match his feed, he wore exclusively red jacket during his winter training last year to match the other pictures where he wears the ferrari red suit. now, his feed is more neutral, less red for sure. i'm not saying it's him going to a different team. i personally think it's him building his own brand and trying to distance himself from being JUST a ferrari driver.
now, i made a whole post about charles and his relatable posts but just admit, would you be more likely to notice a post where he does something silly, unexpected, authentic, than a perfectly staged professional training photo? exactly.
in fact, his ice cream pics gained 1M likes SO FAST - he posted them around 6pm and reached a million likes before midnight. now it's on 1.6M likes. bear in mind he has "only" 13M followers. that means he manages to activate a huge number of his followers to engage with his posts. to compare, lewis has 35M followers. how many likes do his posts reach? around 700k likes if they aren't racing related. do you see how insane this level of engagement is?
he has a good understanding of the social media environment, and understands that showcasing his personality more rather than a crafted PR image works to his advantage.
he seems then more approachable, stands out in the crowd of other drivers.
also one thing that i noticed is how insanely well his branded posts do. branded posts underperform, that's a fact. but charles' branded reels get millions of views -- 12.8M views for the apm monaco promo, 25M views for his meta promo.
to compare other non-branded content, his piano reel from 22 weeks ago got around 7.7M views. ferrari posts that were co-posted by charles gain around 3-5M views if you look at the usual performance.
the pattern is clear -- charles is outgrowing ferrari and the brand that ferrari offers. the individual brand that he crafted for himself is getting stronger, and him and his team know how to navigate in it and capitalize on it. he no longer is tied to ferrari, or even racing. he can do well enough with a video of him playing a piano than a video of him scoring a pole position.
again, racing is in charles' blood and at his core, he's a racer, but having such a strong individual branding as an internet personality is a huge advantage when it comes to brand deals, sponsors, and the contract negotiations he could be having.
that being said, what you see on social media does not have to be reality. it can be a carefully crafted pr image. HOWEVER, charles also has a great advantage of the thousands of meetings with fans that claim he was incredibly nice. or meetings with partners, that always cannot stop complimenting how approachable and interested he was in person.
that also benefits him, people always want to root for/support people that are genuine in real life, and charles seems to live up to that expectation.

Last Twilight, episode 1: reflections
TW: suicide
ALLLLLLLLRIGHT! Aof Noppharnach began our year with Moonlight Chicken; interjected it with Our Skyy 2 x Bad Buddy x A Tale of Thousand Stars, and bookends it with Last Twilight. I've got my cha yen ready (not too sweet), here we go, Last Twilight, episode 1.
Some quick notes on random stuff first, then themes I'm picking up on:
1) Yes, we had to have Doc Jimmy start a new series with a new fight, huh (and always in these bowling shirt/jackets, too)
2) Ajahn Pichai with the gold chain, sheeeet! (Listen. It's my OGMMTVC Bad Buddy Meta Month. Just about everyone working on this show on the screenwriting and directing team are BBS alums. The comparisons will be unavoidable!)
Tumblr media
3) Why do I know Sea Tawinan? It’s not because I watched Vice Versa (I stayed away), but because he was great in a small role in 55:15 Never Too Late, AND, more importantly, homeboy wore an off-shoulder Fendi sweater WITH a blazer (CLAP EMOJIS) to some GMMTV event, which warmed my couture cockles. Much respect for the taste! (Poor @lurkingshan has had to literally hear about my fashion obsession with this get-up MULTIPLE TIMES, sorry Shan, palms together!)
Tumblr media
4) Of the few episodes of Midnight Museum and UMG that I watched earlier this year, I was not impressed with Namtan Tipnaree, but I appreciate that she's starting off quite strong and moodily here. (Also, UMG's script did literally no human being any justice.)
@twig-tea has gathered the ragged and burnt out (oh, is that just me, lmao) Ephemerality Squad from the Only Friends meta circle to join them in a Last Twilight Liminality.... what should we call ourselves, the Liminality League? The Liminality Legion? Someone choose! Anyway, I am super down, and ready to start chewing on some themes. Twig captured the big theme of liminality, of time purgatory, and I totally agree with what you've gotten down in your post, Twig.
In the preview episode for this series, Before Last Twilight, we learn that Day has 180 days -- six months -- of vision left. At the same time, Mhok has 180 days -- six months -- to earn enough money to buy back his late sister's car.
In addition to liminality/time purgatory (this is only my coinage, btw, a way in which I can understand the moment in life this show is capturing), we clearly have a theme of cars and movement. Mhok is a mechanic. He wants to keep his late sister's car. The Bimmer that Night is driving is Day's car. Mhok has to get Day home on the back of a motorcycle as Night had to drive away while Day was wandering in the middle of the road. A car can move backwards only very temporarily, and will HAVE to move forwards at any point in time in order to get to another location (..... unless you're a driver from New Jersey, ayooo!). The car belonging to the late Rung is very much in purgatory at the moment.
We have a theme of sibling rivalry between Day and Night. Day was the success of the family, knows it, and hangs it over Night's head. And we have a theme of opposites. Day, Night, blind, seeing. I can play badminton, I cannot play badminton.
(BY THE WAY! We know we'll be reading more into badminton, AND in the rivalry of Day and Night, AND in the rivalry of Sea and Mark in this series, yes? Mark Pakin and Sea Tawinan are both national-level Thai badminton players who chose acting as their careers. They're facing off in some GMMTV BL sports tournament at the end of the year. I hope it's slightly aggressive! In Before Last Twilight, Sea actually made reference to his rivalry with Mark. Ooooh, TESTY!)
While I'm watching closely the tension between Day and Night, I'm also watching for the stress and pressure that caring for Day will put on Mhok, as well as Night and his and Day's mother. As many of us are watching Last Twilight very closely for accuracy and authenticity in reflecting the experience of a disabled person in an unaccommodating environment; I'm also looking to this show to hopefully capture stories of caregiver stress, which is an incredibly real and important phenomenon (relevant articles here and here).
As I always, always harken to in my posts: behavioral change is very real, and very difficult -- especially when behavioral change is forced upon an individual AND/OR a group, all of which contain very different emotional constructions. Day and Night's forced behavioral change, based on Day's vision condition, has very naturally and automatically caused stress in the group dynamic of Day's family system, as we saw in the outburst in Day's car. I wonder how Mhok will deal with that stress, and how he'll manage his own stress vis à vis caring for Day.
Last theme for now, and then some concluding thoughts. Mhok's emotional distance from his sister's suicide. He can't bring himself to connect with it directly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm eating this up. It's certainly Mhok's way of grieving at the moment. He's also talking with his ex-girlfriend in both of these scenes. There's emotional space between him and Rung, between him and Porjai. And certainly there's simmering and unresolved anger as well -- honestly, the whole emotional circle. But Mhok, at this point, is not toeing the line of getting close to those emotions, and is engaging with the memory of his sister with distance, which is bound to be addressed vis à vis his connection with Day.
There's a lot of anger, a lot of regret, a lot of avoidance, a lot of dancing around the honest truth. Mhok and Day are likely conduits of emotional openness and steadiness to each other; we will see how it plays out.
What do I think of JimmySea? I'm not you're average Wai hater -- I really liked Jimmy as Wai in Bad Buddy. Because I didn't watch Vice Versa, I honestly don't know what I think about him in a lead role. So I am going in REAL fresh, knowing nothing about JimmySea's chemistry, and I like what I'm seeing so far, particularly with Jimmy's emotional control. I appreciate having seen a bit of the work they did together in Before Last Twilight to get to this series premiere.
Aof has done this before: he's recognized potential in pairings (specifically in Dark Blue Kiss with TayNew and Still 2gether with BrightWin) to come up with fabulous shows. So I have trust that he knows what he's doing with JimmySea. Let's see. I really like this so far, but Only Friends did indeed burn me out to a crisp, so I'm allowing myself the slightest touch of hesitancy as I get into a new and big GMMTV show.

This is a really long-winded work up to a fic idea/vague character analysis BEAR WITH ME.
this'll be the last HTTYD meta post of the night. It's hard to pinpoint when Cowell fully created the later book's storyline (The seeds really start getting planted in 5, but of course 8 kicks things off, but was that the book when she first truly knew? who knows) but it's obvious the end game plot wasn't conceived by the start of the series. Cowell manages to transition from mostly episodic style adventure books to an overarching plot pretty well but there's some occasional wonkyness. The most fascinating weirdness to me is how the earlier books treat dragons and their societal standing.
I am doing a very out of order re-listen rn so I could be very wrong but while dragons are treated as 'creatures to own' from the start the slavery and mistreatment of dragons by humans starts to really become more textual rather than messy implications by like the 3rd and 4th books. But I don't think Cowell knew if she wanted to Unpack All That Right Now just yet when writing those books, so we get this weird ground where the mistreatment of dragons is there and explicit but none of the characters linger or reflect on it. Specifically in book 4 Oneye is all very "y'all are fucking pig slave drivers" and Hiccup doesn't object or anything but does not think about or engage with Oneye's rhetoric at all. This was a tad jarring coming off of listening to Hiccup giving a massive impassioned speech about how slavery is disgusting and needs to be eradicated in 10 to Hiccup meekly telling Snotlout not to whip dragons for fun in 4. Of course, Hiccup is a child and very rarely do elementary schooler age members of the oppressor class fully understand the abusive systems they profit off of (and obviously Hiccup not standing up to Snotlout is a whole other thing bc Snotlout is a horrible little shit. I'm not condemning Hiccup for not doing much here). Hiccup has all the groundwork of becoming the little leftist abolitionist revolutionary he ends up but he isn't there just yet.
This should have been ground for a bit of a character arc. And yet, it sort of wasn't?? Kinda?? It is but isnt. I think by 7 Cressida knew where the series was going enough to know that Hiccup needed to have a personal reconing with slavery & that's what the Northern Wanderers were for. Hiccup has a close brush with human slaves, gets marked as a slave and comes to see their humanity and dignity despite the rest of his friends and his culture not respecting them or their personhood. On paper, that's decent. Maybe not very good indigenous rep, but decent plot wise. However, it doesn't entirely work. Firstly because Hiccup should already know that captial S Slavery is Bad because of 5. That's a large part of 5. And yet I do not remember Hiccup ever really having much dialogue or internal introspection about slavery and the horrors of it & how it has effected Windwalker and those around him. The narration drills in it's awfulness but Hiccup sort of...doesn't super acknowledge it. Which is weird bc Hiccup is so pro dragon and such a good person you think he might be a bit angry or have some shit to say about Lavalout island or what happened to Humongous (I think there was some 'wow that's awfuls' but nothing much more then that. Or maybe I'm mis remembering grain of salt) 5 should have already done this, but again in 7 we don't get any introspection! The wanderers say a lot of things to Hiccup. They call him a devil, they say that all of history is against his kind, they think that he is inherently irredeemable and should be killed before he himself does harm. Hiccup doesn't think about any of this. And so the attempted arc kind of...falls flat for me. But cool Hiccup is in theory like yeah capital S slavery is bad. Then 8 is what REALLY starts off on Hiccup's abolitionism. Hiccup saves Furious, empathises with the chained monster against possible best judgement, and is disgusted by his torture. He wants to free all the prisoners, everyone locked away on Berserk. This is finally when Hiccup starts having a bit more of a reaction to slavery and imprisonment, and then he starts truly pushing against it out of his own accord and disgust and anger at it.
And yet. Not much inner monologue or reflection or dialogue about slavery outside of Hiccup's talk with Furious. It stays that way until book 9, where Hiccup faces the concept of being a king for the first time and then fights his father for the throne, knowing his father won't do the right thing. So, character arc! We get all the beats but I feel like we sort of don't get the development that goes along with the beats so it doesn't totally feeel like a character arc. Why the internal radio silence? Truly it's probably something about Cowell not wanting to make the books too depressing too early on by lingering on the messed up stuff too hard or something else but. I think there's a very in character and plausible explanation for Hiccup's arc around slavery. And it's all about his father.
The Hooligans are later named as one of the 'kinder tribes' who don't engage in slavery and don't agree with it morally but turn a blind eye to rampant slavery happening elsewhere. Slavery seems to really not be discussed much on Berk, but Hiccup and the other Hooligan boys his age probably grew up with some vague sense of pride in being 'the better ones', for having more honour and morals, something shared by the older tribe members. But this inaction is immoral and even though the Hooligans and other tribes aren't slave fairing, they do abuse and exploit dragons on a daily basis. Book 9 is about Hiccup finally acknowledging what has stopped him from thinking too hard or engaging with the enslavement and mistreatment of dragons. The Hooligans are still in the wrong, doing the wrong thing, upholding a bad system. Which means his father is. Stoick is the HTTYD equivalent of a neo-liberal. He dislikes the disdainful messy bits of capitalism, but he ultimately upholds the abusive and violent capitalist system while helping put down leftist organising. And seeing that in your beloved father, for someone as impassioned as Hiccup, is a fucking bitch. It's what makes their fight so heartbreaking. Hiccup couldn't let himself start down the path of unpacking the suffering of dragons and other humans until it was VITAL to do so because I think he knew things would lead back to the feet of his father, and also Hiccup's own. You don't grow up in an abusive system as a member of the oppressor class without being at least a bit complicit in violence and oppression, and I think that eats at hiccup.
ANYWAY fic idea what if I actually fleshed this all out through fic via like snapshots of Hiccup's various radicalisation moments which then focuses on the gap between 9 and 10 where Hiccup is in the woods for like a year with nothing but dragons, anti war domestic terrorism/sabotage and his thoughts for company while showing more anti war rebellion groups bc surely Hiccup and Cami were not the only ones. Cami's team getting a spotlight. ....thuggory pov??? I have vague fic soup rn and it's threatening to engulf me so I had to get this out somehow.

Watching Halo, Episode 7
I have no doubt the diehards rioted over this episode, which turned out to be centered entirely on Kwan (and Soren), who the youtube comments inform me is terrible. Why, I’m not sure, but here we are.
We open with a flashback to the Madrigal resistance, and I was surprised how happy I was to see them all. We only got one scene with them in the pilot, but they pull off the loving community vibe so well that it’s easy to fall in love with them. It was nice to have them back, even as ghosts, and even with pre-heroic Kwan having a teenage moment with her dad. Back in the present, Kwan’s driving straight into a sandstorm, which is a TERRIBLE IDEA that in the real world would probably have killed her. The wind and sand can literally rip your skin off. Anyway, she gets kidnapped.
Soren’s miraculously back on Rubble—what is the FTL tech in this universe and how fast is it? I have questions. He’s throwing a party and we finally get to see him in his element, as pirate/ businessman/ rich popular dude. He’s loud and boisterous and clearly grating on his shady, uncool business partner, whose only redeeming virtue is speaking Hungarian. Squirrel challenges Soren on not getting Kwan Ha’s bounty, and ignoring his own shady heist plan, but backs down immediately when pushed. Soren is obviously disturbed, though I assume it’s more about breaking his word to John than not getting paid for Kwan. (He also had a lovely moment about his love for his wife and kid, and I’m still convinced they’re marked for death, which is a shame, because I love Laera.) Sometime I need to go back and rewatch this scene with the pause button, because there’s a load of costumes to look at here.
Back to Kwan and her kidnappers, who of course turn out to be the mystics. They have the classic “you’re not ready, I sense much anger in you” conversation, which honestly I could have done without, especially since my meta-brain knows the mystics will change their mind, and they immediately do. (As they must have planned to, since they kidnapped her, not the other way around.) (Very cool costume design, low-quality wigs.) There's a lot going on with the tropes behind this Magic Desert People thing that other people have no doubt covered better than I can, but it does leave a lot of questions. Where are they from? Why are they so detached from the other humans on Madrigal? Why do they know the things they do? What do they need the Ha family for, that they couldn't do themselves?
Vinsher, meanwhile, is being extremely Extra and Poetic, which is apparently normal enough that his driver gets in a well-chosen poetic reference of his own in response. They know about the mystics and can’t find them, but Vinsher is determined to at least find Kwan. Vinsher is an interesting choice, juxtaposed against the rest of the people in the show: a cartoonish villain who only wants power, in a universe where everyone else claims a "greater good" justification for what they do.
On Rubble, Soren gets his shady guy Squirrel alone on the tram. And instead of killing him (or getting jumped or triggering a gang war that gets his family killed, my other guesses), Soren butters the guy up a bit, in a very threatening way, and agrees to go with the score the guy had bitched about at the party. I Have Concerns. (The scene ended with a GREAT dissolve, as the tram disappeared into the dark, just a single light distantly visible, which faded into the scene on Madrigal. Just a great directing choice, very evocative.)
The mystics are giving Kwan her Lore Dump, complete with hallucinogenic drugs that take her into her subconscious to deal with her issues. In this case, flashing back to the beginning of her relationship with Master Chief, which turns into them fighting so she can let go of her rage, presumably. (We brought back Reth for this?) (STOP aiming for the best part of his armor! If you’re going to try to stab him, which I’m not even sure you want to do, aim for the weak parts!) It's a little odd given that she seemed to have worked through some of the stuff with John back when he saved her life. (Honestly, it just made me think they wanted Master Chief in the ep so they could remind everyone "it's the Halo show!")
Eventually she gets told her family’s purpose, according to a being from another time or existence (again, man, this series has everything and the kitchen sink), is to eventually help John with his purpose, which involves a portal that must be protected from oppressors. (Like the UNSC, hence the rebellion.) The reunion with her dad was moving, and he ends by affirming her ability to step up in her own way, and tells her to go back to where it all began: the outpost where they lived, and he died.
Soren and Squirrel’s heist goes swimmingly, but Soren uses it to drop a weight on Squirrel’s foot to teach him a lesson. He could still be setting up a gang war, in other words. Later, Laera calls him on the action’s necessity, and in the course of defending himself, Soren wanders off to talking about Kwan and how that situation is eating at him. Laera tells him that Kwan must be alive, since Vinsher just tripled the bounty on her, and it’s clear Soren’s headed back to Madrigal. Laera, I love you.
On Madrigal, we flash between Kwan back in the ruins of her home, and Agatha getting questioned by Vinsher. Turns out she’s not a traitor after all, and she stands up to him, despite knowing it’ll get her killed. It does. Agatha had told Kwan that Vinsher had allowed them to collect the dead for burial, and so as she explores she doesn’t see any human bodies, but I was quite surprised to see the Covenant dead left where they were. I realize the UNSC labs likely have samples of everything there, but no local scavengers (of the animal sort) have dealt with the bodies, and no local scavengers (of the human sort) have looted the gear? Weird. Kwan also manages to find papers of her father’s that reference the portal, and pockets them. She hears movement, but I’m pretty sure it’s…
…Soren! Called that. They bicker a bit, especially over her keeping his gun. I do like the way they play off each other. Vinsher shows up and Kwan explains her plan to blow the joint sky-high. (Vinsher, are you SMOKING A CIGAR AT A HYDROGEN DRILLING FACILITY?) Unfortunately, the place is not in great repair after the battle, and she needs to fix something before they can detonate it (and take cover). She and Vinsher speech-ify at each other. (The byplay between Vinsher and his smart guard was great. “I give you my solemn word.” Guard: shocked, dubious look. Vinsher: immediate “of course not” headshake. Big Humperdink and Rugen energy there.) Kwan also manages to pay Soren after all, so that’s nice. (Stick it in your pack and get on with it, Soren!)
Kwan brilliantly uses her insider knowledge of the base and its maintenance tunnels to get across the battlefield safely, while Soren wrecks absolute havoc as only a Spartan can. He’s incredibly impressive, and I can’t help but wonder if these people know they’re facing a (former) Spartan? (Two seconds later, it turns out they do, as Vinsher taunts him with it. Not sure that was smart, but ok.) (Again, is he the only one who’s ever gotten out?) They 100% get me to believe they’ve killed Soren off and might get Kwan too before Kwan manages to blow the place with one of the un-looted guns from the Covenant massacre, and she and Soren both make it into the vault, just in time. (Realism? I don't know her!)
The rain from the hydrogen drill as they emerge is a nice touch. We wrap up with the most perfect Kwan-and-Soren bickering possible. Kwan: “We’ll see each other again.” Soren: “God, I hope not.” HA.

Could I request headcanons of Redestro with a kid who has a similar quirk to his, but its caused by anxiety/fear instead of stress?
And once again, happy birthday!!! 🎉
(Thank you so much! I feel like you have a direct link to my thoughts because I've been craving some soft dad content with this man for a few days now...)

-I'd like to think he lists becoming a loving husband and father as the number one accomplishment on his list of life...well that and establishing the MLA and Detnerat but that's a different story. From the very moment his boy was born/adopted, he was fully dedicated to them. I'd even say long beforehand when the child was just an idea, he was all in.
-He's a very dedicated father. He's there for every little preschool event and each and every up or down in his son's life. He's got so much love and wisdom to give to his child. That's why when they head to kindergarten and experience their quirk developing for the first time, he's the one that beats you to the school. No kidding. He doesn't get a driver for the day either. He takes himself straight there.
-As it would turn out, your child unfortunately developed their quirk (or meta ability) on their first day of kindergarten. It's identical to Rikiya but the circumstances in this case have caused it to activate due to him apparently being anxious about everything surrounding him. It can be something akin to stress but more so along the lines of fear really. Rikiya is at his side in a moment, lifting him up and nuzzling him into his chest while keeping a careful eye on the ever growing stress marks he's developed on the side of his neck rather than his forehead. You sign the paperwork to check him out of school and make it home in 30 minutes flat.
-Throughout the evening you try to keep a close eye on your son but mostly you remain to the sideline, watching intently as Rikiya handles the situation. Due to him having a similar quirk, you decided he should be the main person to handle the situation.
-And he does.
-It's a beautiful site to see, watching him calmly and patiently talk to a panicked toddler. It takes some time but you finally see him chip away at the imaginary wall surrounding your son. The marks start to subside but never fully disappear as they remain on your son's neck...just like his father. Rikiya pulls his son close and explains the way burden works. He offers to help train it to keep it in line, but mostly he offers his full support and love to the child. It's certainly a lot of information and pressure for a 5 year old to take in after just one day but you can see the small spark of determination burning in his eyes as he balls up his tiny chubby fists.
-Day by day he regains his confidence as he does his best to train his quirk while simultaneously navigating anxiety at such a young age. And with every single step of the the way you can guarantee to see Rikiya right by his side, guiding him ahead.

Making Angel
Masterpost
In a skiing resort for the wealthy, a rich young bastard man hits it off with a confident young woman - and gets told no.
Almost half a year later, that young woman ends up at a secret WRU facility, along with a decent advance payment and clear instructions never to let her say no again.
That's where this story begins...
Contains: BBU, lady whump / box babe, facility whump, whumper POVs, bad people with mundane problems, conditioning, guilt, overtones of noncon (mostly due to the setting, sometimes explicit). Each piece will be tagged individually, too.
Please mind that I'd like to keep my writing 18+, including the pieces that aren't marked nsfw.
(Special shout out to Vee, @for-the-love-of-nsfwhump , who created this AU/spin off with me and is a constant source of inspiration, and to @ashintheairlikesnow for all the rich worldbuilding that I could draw on while building my own part of the BBU sandbox.)
Characters
002238 / "Angel" (she/her) - WRU romantic trainee. Did not sign up for this, but has always been good at pretending.
Handler Alan Nguyen (he/him) - One of WRU's best romantic handlers. Doesn't believe in physical violence in training. Finds beauty in creating devotion. Very arrogant, very successful.
Handler Tyler Parker (he/him) - Junior handler on one of his first assignments. As much of a himbo as one can be when earning money as a professional torturer. Has his own spinoff, [here].
Thane Barlow (he/him) - @for-the-love-of-nsfwhump s character. Mean bastard man. Prospective owner of 238.
Alex Nadler (they/he/she) - Client Relations officer at WRU, specialised in involuntary acquisitions. Would do anything for client satisfaction.

When Yevgeny Prighozin, the head of the notorious mercenary army known as the Wagner Group, staged an aborted coup against the Russian government, his brief revolt led to the deaths of 13 Russian fighter pilots and a serious blow to Vladimir Putin's sense of invulnerability. Now the fallout of that strange story has also apparently taken another casualty: the most notorious troll farm in the world, known as the Internet Research Agency.
But we'll get to that. First, Elon Musk is having a tough week. After Twitter’s baffling decision to temporarily limit the number of tweets users can read each day, Mark Zuckerberg sucker-punched the self-sabotaged platform with the launch of Threads. The Instagram-linked microblogging app surged to the top of the app store charts, gaining a staggering 30 million users in 24 hours—a clear sign that many people are willing to ignore Meta’s privacy-invading ways.
If you want to get in on the Threads action but don't want to share all your data with Meta, there's a better way: Don't join. Instead, wait until Threads connects to the broader decentralized social media ecosystem enabled by the ActivityPub protocol, which is also used by Mastodon. It should enable you to interact with Threads without signing up for an account or downloading the app. And if you're still trying to pick which Twitter alternative to jump on—or just want to see what data each platform collects—we've broken down the privacy policies of Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, and more.
Even if you don't share your data with Meta, the information about you that's already out there is likely up for sale. But it's not just companies buying up your personal details—cops and spies are purchasing that data too. That is, unless the US Congress puts a stop to it. A bipartisan group of lawmakers has submitted an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, which Congress must pass each year, that would forbid intelligence agencies from buying sensitive data about Americans. The amendment has to survive a long debate before it can become law, but if Congress keeps it intact, US spies will no longer be able to buy your location data and search histories on the open market.
Finally, our partners at Grist investigated the risks posed by electric vehicle charging stations. Due to a variety of security vulnerabilities and a lack of industry standards for protecting EV chargers from hackers, both drivers and the entire power grid could be at risk.
But that's not all. Each week, we round up the security news we didn't report in depth ourselves. Click on the headlines to read the full stories. And stay safe out there.
Prighozin’s Disinformation Factory Shuts Down in Wake of Wagner Mutiny
For years, the St. Petersburg-based Internet Research Agency embodied many Americans’ worst fears of Russia’s disinformation influences across Western social media. The operation, created by Vladimir Putin ally and oligarch Yevgeny Prighozin, fueled scandals, spewed fake news, and meddled in US elections deeply enough to warrant an indictment from the Justice Department against a group of its staff and even a disruptive hacking operation from US Cyber Command targeting its network.
Now, after the US government's attempts to cripple or kill Prighozin’s troll factory, he’s managed to do it himself. In the wake of the bizarre, brief mutiny of Prighozin’s mercenary Wagner Group, contracted to take part in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Prighozin has been stripped of assets in Russia, including the media group of which the Internet Research Agency was a part. Initially, the troll farm sought a new owner, but Reuters reported ahead of the July 4 holiday that the infamous influence machine will instead be disbanded. Prighozin, meanwhile, was said to have been exiled to Belarus—but has now returned to Russia, according to the Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko.
France Set to Pass Law to Let Police Spy Via Device Cameras and Mics
A highly controversial surveillance bill in France, making its way through the country’s parliament, would allow law enforcement to surreptitiously spy on criminal suspects via their devices’ cameras and microphones. The legislation, which would apply to smartphones, connected cars, laptops, and other devices, was passed by the French National Assembly earlier this week as part of wider changes to the French justice system. In response to criticism, French president Emmanuel Macron’s party made changes to the law that would only allow it to be used “when justified by the nature and seriousness of the crime,” only for an appropriate duration, and only for a maximum of six months, regardless of the suspected criminal conduct. Both the right and left political parties of the country continue to protest the bill.
ATM-Skimming Fraudsters Are Stealing Millions From Welfare Recipients
In recent years, American credit cards have been far harder to defraud, as banks have added security features like authentication chips. But EBT cards, the debit cards provided to many of the poorest Americans in the welfare system, have lagged behind in those protections, instead continuing to store their numbers in a simple magnetic strip. The result has been millions of dollars in irreversible theft from some of the country’s most needy and vulnerable families, as captured in a Bloomberg BusinessWeek feature in this week’s “Heist Issue” of the magazine. California alone, according to the report, saw an average of $10 million a month stolen in the first three months of this year. The fraud scheme is carried out by criminals who plant “skimmer” devices on grocery store point-of-sale systems and ATMs that record credit card numbers, which are then used to drain accounts of funds as soon as they’re refreshed at midnight on the first of the month. BusinessWeek tells the story of a mother of five whose welfare funds were stolen in this way four times in less than a year.
Japan’s Largest Cargo Shipping Port Hit by Ransomware
The Japanese port of Nagoya—the country’s biggest cargo port. handling roughly 10 percent of its total shipping—on Tuesday revealed that it had been the victim of a ransomware attack. The attack, apparently carried out by the prolific Russia-linked ransomware group LockBit, prevented companies like Toyota from loading and unloading manufacturing components from ships and led to a traffic jam of truck drivers picking up and offloading containers at the port. To the Nagoya shipping port’s credit, however, it recovered quickly from the attack, resuming operations just two days later.

ME3 Geth Blender Models
Tumblr media
I finished my Blender ports for the Geth models from ME3 Legendary (excluding Legion).
Mega Link
Open3DLab link
Includes:
Geth Trooper
Geth Rocket Trooper & Hunter (same model, different skins).
Geth Pyro
Geth Prime
Geth Bomber
Geth Turret
Features:
All models are rigged
Bomber and Turret have custom rigs, all others use Rigify.
Rigify Metarigs are included (see note below).
Rig .py files are included.
All rigs include a Custom Properties bone for controlling things like the brightness and colors of the lights and other features depending on the model.
All are marked as assets.
Why tf does the geth bomber need an IK rig? why did I do this?
All original files are included as well.
Note about the Metarigs:
I made several edits to the final rig that Rigify generated from the meta rigs, such as adding some custom properties and drivers, and fixing some bone constraint and heirarchy issues that were causing behavior I didn't want. If you re-generate the rig from the Meta-rig, all of that gets removed and would have to be re-built. I don't know who to make this in a way that doesn't cause this sry.
Credits & Plugs:
BioWare for the Mass Effect 3 Assets
Umodel and the Legendary Explorer for the tools for finding and ripping the assets.

Wait what did Lance do that almost cost George his career?
So its more about Lawrence than Lance himself, If you look in this article it’s covered with quotes from George to back it up as a source, and here, and George has been outspoken about lance’s money causing unfair orders for his teammates, but in short, in 2014 before a run at the BRDC F4 championship and FRECA, George was signed to compete in FRECA with PREMA, but 10 days before the season began he was unceremoniously dumped due to a veto by Lawrence stroll, who held stakes in the team.
Lance and George weren’t even racing in the same series at the time, as Lance was competing in the Florida winter series and Italian F4.
The reason this is notable in the case of George’s career is that during podcast interviews George has divulged that in 2013/14 he was given the ultimatum by his parents that next year either he needed to be securing additional sponsors, or he wouldn’t be able to race anymore, because they just didn’t have the funding for single seater series. George’s dad had sold their family business, his brother had stopped karting, they were travelling and sleeping in a tiny camping van to and from his races. His dad even reportedly slept in a horse box once, money was that tight. The poor kid was fifteen/sixteen at the time, he’d just left school the year before. It was a lot to put on him.
George credits this season as his make or break season in the second article, if he hadn’t won the f4 championship, he thinks that he might not have received funding to enter into the f3 seasons he did because his record would have only shown his okay but not great season at Koiranen, the team that he was forced to go to with only a weeks notice after losing his PREMA seat. While arguably he could have won there, it was nyck in a koiranen that won the season, that short notice change could have ended even worse. He doesn’t say it explicitly above, but this was the same year around the end of this season he reached out to Toto for financial help and thus would explain the comment about CV’s and needing to impress. The next season he went to Carlin after Toto told him not to, but still did well enough he’d been ‘unofficially’ signed as a merc junior by the end of 2016, made official the following year. Having that 2014 season go well was vital for George.
This is a lot of ramble ramble driver history, and its not Lances fault that his dad did that and put George in a risky place- but it DOES show how one easy swipe of Lawrences hand to move George from a seat he earned, could have ended his racing career. George is far from the only driver its happened to, both Ben Barnicoat and LANDO were blocked from PREMA seats. It’s one thing to buy your kid a seat. It’s another to pick their teammates.

What if Seanchai was a bad creature ?
Disclaimer: this contains spoilers from the show and the books (so potential plotlines we have yet to see (or not) in the main series. As always this is a gray point of view.
First the origin of the name/word is very interesting.
Seanchaí (shan-a-key) were traditional Irish storytellers and the custodians of history for centuries in Ireland. They could recite ancient lore and tales of wisdom whenever it was needed [...] In ancient Celtic society, bards held a position of esteem, second only to kings. Bards memorized vast amounts of poetry which they performed live, and their poems and songs were often the only historical record available. Some may consider them to be historians.
Source [x]
This is very in line with the character, Jaskier and the Lark, which I love !
Now let's dig into the character...
We don't know much about Seanchai motivations except that they collect stories through time and gives a little push to bring them back to life when the world needs it. But when they decide it does actually. Are they full neutral ? Hmmm.
First Seanchai appears to Jaskier in two forms. His own and the elven one. As himself, they are uncanny and don't hesitate to slap him for a simple and quite legitimate question in his position and to scare him just after that. Then they appear soft and welcoming in their elven form. Seanchai uses his empathy for the elves and his love for music and storytelling to gain his sympathy. But they forces the conclusion in him from the very beginning.
The Scoi’atel mean well.
Really?
This is strange but I like and dislike one special thing in the show. And I can't decide if it is right or wrong. Yet this is one of the most interesting thing of this series I think.
One of the main theme of BO is the past that is lost and history being rewritten.
In the series, we learn that the elves are not all good. Their history is shady and full of horrors. Yes we follow the adventure of heroic elves who freed the people from the cast system. But we see also that further in the past terrible things lie.
The monoliths that the dwarves used to fertilise their lands came from long before. Balor find their initial purpose : travel through worlds (and Avallac'h that it does through time also - mark my words). But this is sacrilegious for the dwarves who see their belief and culture being twisted.
In the same time Merwyn look up to her ancestors and worships a conqueror. The ancient elves they descending from are tyrans in reality. They crushed other civilisations. And she wants to do the same to save her people.
In the series it's unclear if they are really separating Aen Seidhe and Aen Elle. I hope they will. I will assume they do in the rest of my analysis.
Then we have the Continent in The Witcher time, where humans eradicate non-humans and there are replacing every culture by their own. This is wrong as much as what we learn about the elves in BO and we just scratched the surface. The elves we see persecuted are not bad people per se. The Scoia'tael are a natural response to what is happening. This is a desperate reponse to a desperate situation. But those before them. Those still hidden in the fog of history, are... (And BO just teased them for me)
My problem is not who is good and evil in this particular conflict but Seanchai... They chose to maybe alter history, asking Jaskier to give hope to the elves, reminding them of how they fought to free themselves before.
Sure. But what for ? Minnie Driver said in interviews that Seanchai is an ancient elf. So what prevents them to be a very powerful Aen Elle that kept their knowledge to travel through time. Where did she collect the story she tells Jaskier from ?
Lore wise, I know what they tells is not true, of at least partially. I know that's the writer's take of the lore and they twisted it, but there is another twist to that, and I will get there later.
The only things I am sure:
Meta wise it's a trope. And there is one dialog that made me laugh as horrible as it was. Because Seanchai tries to trick the spectator to watch to the end revealing from the get go what interesting things would be developed in the story.
But if we consider the things just character wise there is a shadow. If this is an Ean Elle, there is a good chance that they wants the Scoia'tael to succeed but for wrong reasons.
Remember that at the end of season 2, Francesca learns the existence of Ciri and she is forming the first occurrences of Scoia'tael (in the series verse). The existence of ancient blood that can carry the hope for her people to reach their ancestors. Their lost powers...
And then we have Jaskier that is time framed by his short human life and empathises with the oppressed because he has a partial knowledge of elven history (and he's been traumatized, let's not forget). And that partial history is only augmented by what Seanchai says to him.
When he hears the prophecy (that it not the correct prophecy for Ciri - that would come later) he is confused but Seanchai reminds him what they want from him. Give hope to the elves. Become the bard that makes people rise as the Lark did in her time.
The prophecy could be interpreted differently. I have seen a lot of part elf Jaskier interpretations (which I understand but not share, at least as Eile descendant). But here is my take of it.
I precise that I don't find this a good idea, as the lore is pretty much fucked up at this point because they took the problem the wrong way round in my opinion. But let see.
The time of the spheres is upon us. The Ean Seidhe lost across the skies => Those are the ones Balor banished in the other world that will become the Wild Hunt. The scout team. (Which is strangely not far from true and totally wrong in the same time 😅)
Cast adrift in time, ever searching for love and left behind => I get that this is for Eredin and his lover. So the motivation for Eredin to have access to Ciri is to find his lover back ? (Hmmmm this is where it goes to strange places for me and forces a love story where none was needed. It was good enough as it was in the first place illustrating the cast problem within the elves society, and we didn't have time to connect with the power of their feelings to make it worth it)
The Lark's seed shall carry forth the first note of a song that ends all times and one of her blood should sing the last => this gives us simultaneously the hint that Eile is the ancestor of Lara Doren who is the ancestor of Ciri. And the fact that Jaskier henerits the strength of Eile in changing the world with his songs.
I take the seed and the song as a metaphores because Eile is a bard and will give birth of the lineage that leads to Ciri. The first note of the song is her story that leads to what Jaskier will do, inheriting her power of storyteller to the masses, and the last is what Ciri is meant to be. She is to be the end of the story, or more exactly the last chapter. The last note of the song.
If I am wrong, then I am wrong 😅.
Why don't I want Jaskier to be special blood wise ? Clearly in BO, the infant of Eile is impregnated with Fjall as a proto witcher, so monster blood. And that makes them so special (Which is twisting some things for the Aen Elle/Seidhe point of view but can still match a little bit). But if Jaskier henerits this blood also, it means that he has a portion of elder blood in him, making him special too.
For me, Jaskier shouldn't be special. This is the fact that he is ordinary that makes him different and so relatable. He is like us, ordinary people. His struggles are human like in a family that is god like. The best witcher, the strongest sorceress, the destiny child... I mean later on, in the books, within the hanza, he is the least special member and has no strength at all, but he endures to stick with Geralt whom he doesn't want to abandon to his impossible quest. Even Milva thought he was going to break. But except for his inflexible loyality and his pursuing of preventing Geralt to stay alone, as he knows the end would be disastrous, he is terribly normal. His personal quest is to help a friend, and this is as beautiful as other things. And in the same time, he is the witness that can write down history afterwards.
Like wise in BO but he just learns history from another, for this part.
But, coming back to the prophecy itself, if I understand clearly, his song, that resurrects the forgotten past of elven heroes, is meant to end all time ! Meaning it will do something that will lead to a catastrophy. Ergo then, making the elves victorious can be disastrous.
But then, while he is confused, Seanchai repeats their will, giving him the task to help the uprising of the elves only. And The Song of the Seven is that. This is just the battle cry of the whole story that has been told to him. What would he do of the rest of it ? I hope something gray that will make us wonder again what is right and what is wrong. Which is something I love in the books. But who knows ? I can't wait S3 to have a little bit more.
But you know ? What is funny in a way is that the series does the exact same thing that every iteration of civilisations did in the witcher world they show us. They rewrite things to tell others, they twist lore. So their message is strange isn't it ? Thinking about how a powerful story can change the world and changing so much to the story that makes it so in the same time. Beautiful paradoxe, isn't it ?
At least, I like that it makes me think a lot. In that I appreciate the witcher series even with its flaws. And I want to know where they are going with it.

Navigating the Pitfalls: Unveiling the Top Reasons Behind Failed Content Marketing Efforts and the Redemption of Bulk Article Writing Services
Content marketing is hailed as a powerful driver of online success, but not all endeavors yield the expected results. Understanding the common pitfalls that lead to failed content marketing is crucial for businesses aiming to optimize their strategies. In this article, we'll dissect the top reasons behind failed content marketing efforts and explore how leveraging a bulk article writing service can be the strategic antidote to revive and enhance your content marketing endeavors.
Mismatched Content and Audience Expectations: One of the fundamental reasons for content marketing failure is a misalignment between the content produced and the expectations of the target audience. Failing to understand your audience's preferences, interests, and pain points can result in content that misses the mark. A bulk article writing service, equipped with skilled writers and market analysis, can bridge this gap by delivering content tailored to your audience's expectations.
Inconsistency in Messaging and Brand Voice: Consistency is key in content marketing. A disjointed brand voice and messaging across various platforms can confuse and disengage your audience. A bulk article writing service ensures uniformity in tone and messaging, strengthening your brand identity and fostering a more cohesive content strategy.
Lack of a Clear Content Strategy: Without a well-defined content strategy, marketing efforts may lack direction and purpose. A clear roadmap outlining goals, target audience, and distribution channels is essential. A bulk article writing service can collaborate with you to craft a comprehensive content strategy, aligning their production with your overarching business objectives.
Neglecting SEO Best Practices: In the digital era, visibility is paramount, and neglecting search engine optimization (SEO) best practices can be a fatal flaw. Successful content marketing requires strategic keyword integration, meta tag optimization, and adherence to search engine algorithms. A bulk article writing service with SEO expertise can optimize your content for improved search engine rankings.
Failure to Adapt to Trends and Industry Changes: The digital landscape is dynamic, and failing to adapt to emerging trends can render your content obsolete. Keeping abreast of industry changes and incorporating current trends into your content strategy is crucial for relevance. A bulk article writing service, often well-versed in industry dynamics, can inject fresh perspectives and trending topics into your content.
Quantity Over Quality Syndrome: While a consistent flow of content is essential, prioritizing quantity over quality can be detrimental. Low-quality, hastily produced content fails to engage and may even drive away your audience. A bulk article writing service strikes the right balance, delivering a high volume of quality content tailored to your specifications.
Inadequate Promotion and Distribution: Even exceptional content can fall flat if not effectively promoted and distributed. Ignoring channels like social media, email marketing, and influencer collaborations limits your content's reach. Some bulk article writing services go beyond content creation, offering distribution strategies to amplify your content's visibility and impact.
Conclusion:
Understanding the pitfalls behind failed content marketing efforts is the first step toward rejuvenating your strategy. By addressing issues such as audience misalignment, inconsistency, and neglecting SEO best practices, businesses can position themselves for success. Embracing a bulk article writing service not only mitigates these challenges but also provides a scalable solution for consistently delivering high-quality, targeted content that resonates with your audience and propels your content marketing efforts toward success.

The current era is defined by digital transformation, and the move toward online education stands out as a monumental shift in the way we acquire knowledge. As traditional learning spaces make way for virtual classrooms, a sea of opportunities unfolds for astute entrepreneurs ready to ride the wave of change.
In this article, we’ll delve into the burgeoning landscape of online education and highlight key opportunities for entrepreneurs to capitalize on.
The Rise of Online Education: A Transformative Trend
Online education has evolved from a convenient alternative to a mainstream educational model. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this shift, as it forced educational institutions worldwide to adopt virtual learning solutions. However, this shift is not merely a response to external challenges; it marks a paradigm shift with far-reaching implications.
1. E-Learning Platforms: Creating Accessible Knowledge Hubs
Entrepreneurs have a golden opportunity to establish or enhance e-learning platforms. These platforms can cater to diverse learning needs, from academic subjects to niche skill development. By offering high-quality content, interactive features, and user-friendly interfaces, entrepreneurs can position themselves as leaders in this digital education frontier.
Moreover, entrepreneurs can explore integrating advanced features like gamified learning experiences, virtual classrooms, and real-time collaboration tools. These additions not only enhance the learning experience but also contribute to the uniqueness and competitiveness of the platform.
2. Specialized Course Development: Meeting Market Demands

By conducting thorough keyword research and integrating relevant terms seamlessly into the content, one can improve search engine rankings. This helps attract the target audience—as it provides more opportunities for entrepreneurs in the online education sector.
Furthermore, entrepreneurs should consider employing data analytics to identify emerging trends and preferences within the market. This proactive approach ensures that the courses developed are not only specialized but also aligned with the evolving needs of learners.
3. EdTech Solutions: Fostering Technological Innovation
The integration of technology into education, commonly known as EdTech, is one of the key drivers of the online education revolution. It provides opportunities for entrepreneurs to develop innovative tools and solutions that enhance the online learning experience. This may include AI-powered tutors, virtual laboratories, or collaborative learning platforms among other things.
To ensure the website’s SEO effectiveness, incorporating long-tail keywords related to EdTech and entrepreneurship within the content can help capture a more targeted audience.
In addition to technological innovations, entrepreneurs can leverage data-driven insights to continually refine and improve their EdTech solutions. This iterative approach not only keeps the offerings relevant but also positions the entrepreneur as a dynamic player in the rapidly evolving online education landscape.
4. Content Creation and Marketing: Building Visibility

Strategically placing our target keywords in the meta description, headers, and throughout the content will enhance the blog’s SEO performance, improving its discoverability on search engines.
Moreover, entrepreneurs should embrace a multi-channel approach to content distribution. Sharing content across social media platforms, participating in industry forums, and guest posting on relevant blogs can significantly amplify the reach and impact of the entrepreneur’s insights.
5. Collaboration and Partnerships: Amplifying Impact
Entrepreneurs can maximize their impact by forging collaborations with educational institutions, industry experts, and influencers. By leveraging existing networks and combining forces, entrepreneurs can reach a wider audience and establish credibility in the competitive online education landscape.
Including outbound and inbound links to authoritative sources within the website can enhance its credibility and SEO performance. This is because search engines often reward content that provides valuable references and resources.
When opportunities for entrepreneurs arrive, entrepreneurs should actively participate in industry events, webinars, and networking forums. Building strong relationships within the online education community not only opens doors to potential partnerships but also keeps the entrepreneur informed about emerging trends and opportunities.
