He freaks out, freaks out too much that he isn't even bothered that he's making a whole scene because of it.

His usual playful and jolly persona will disappear in an instant, and for once he holds a concern and serious expression on his face.

Any person that would be passing by him will have their guard up, because it’s one of the first times they have seen the oni, so serious which is rare to see from him.

According to Shinobu, the reason you were late and wouldn’t be able to attend the date he had arranged for you at the moment, was you just came back from a commission which unexpectedly gave you major injuries and was the reason you were at the edge of losing too much blood.

As she continued to inform him of your whereabouts and your condition, the dread feeling in his stomach continued to drop, that he had to stop shinobu from continuing further, as just hearing from her that you got hurt already does a big damage to him.

What more if he sees you, with his own eyes?

After Genta told him where you're currently resting, he didn't waste a second going to you as he practically ditches everything in his way.

I hope you don’t mind a clingy oni next to your side because, do you expect the arataki itto to leave you after this? The answer was evident that it’s a no, he will stay with you until you have finally recovered from the current events and not even you could stop himself from doing so.

He would be very protective of you, afraid that you will leave his sight any second, like he's some sort of guard dog. Every person that's going to talk to you will have to be 6 feet away whether they like it or not, and if they get too close from his liking? Perhaps, you better grab his arm before he pounces on them .

He tries to hide the fact that he is worried about you and would instead tease you with playful remarks to make you smile or laugh, but on the matter of how he takes care of you gently like you're a piece of glass says a lot more than he is.

The caretaker explained that after successfully completing a commission, you had unexpectedly met a bunch of fatui agents on your way who took noticed that you were Diluc's siginificant other, and knowing that your lover has a rocky relationship with them, they decided or tried to take you with them, which resulted of you getting minor injuries from them that was still enough to leave you bleeding.

If the caretakes wasn't outside of the winery while visiting the vineyard, you could have collapsed before you could have reached the door.

Every word that leaves from them, continues to fuel the bitter taste in his mouth, as his fingers continued to dig into the fabric of his gloves from clenching his fist too tight. It seems that time has stopped all around him, as he could feel the sharp intake of his breath shaking before standing up from the chair he was sitting, not even caring if it had dropped to the ground.

He wasted no time running and slamming the door open, which startled the maids who were tending to your wounds, and you who was instructed to lay down while they do the rest of the work.

Noticing that the two of you needed some privacy, the maids left the room without a word and closed the door, leaving Diluc still frozen in his position.

He stood there as he scanned your inflicted body who was displayed in front of him, and back to your face who would let out a pain wince when the wounds that were dabbed would inflict a discomfort on you, while multiple thoughts were racing through his mind.

How could he be this careless? would he lose you too? after giving in once again to love, will this be the consequences he’ll have to suffer?

Every step he took, he could feel them dropping to the ground but who is he to care about it at the moment? Your words of assurance that you’re okay, falls deaf on his ears as he refuses to believe that you are.

He knows you too well, that no matter how much you convince him that you're okay, it wasn't the same. His beloved, his only exception in all the seven nations is in pain because of his carelessness.

He sat at the side of the bed you're in and hesitantly wrapped his arms around you, enveloping you in a hug, placing a gentle hand on the back of you're head.

No words were spoken as his warmth continued to envelope the both you, and as every second is passing by, he never intended to let you go, as if he was scared that you will disappear just like the wind.

He closed his eyes in relief, dropping his head on your shoulder and didn't even noticed he had shed a tear from his eye.

He swears in the name of the archons, that after all this fiasco is over he would do everything in his power to punish those scums who had disgracefully did this to you, and there’s no escaping from it.

The grip he has on his polearm tightens that it could potentially be broken after being informed by Smiley that Verr Goldet is treating you in one of the spare rooms of the inn.

The chef explained that you came back bleeding from a commission which caused a great shock when the boss of the inn had caught sight of you.

The bleeding couldn’t be stopped so verr goldet had to fetch a first aid before ushering you to follow her, while instructing the chef who was currently off from his duties to look for Xiao and inform him of your condition.

The yaksha has to physically restrain himself from crashing the polearm in his hands as Smiley continued to tell him that a group of treasure horders tried to rob you after doing the commission and if you didn't have enough strength to fight them off, you could have also been brought as a hostage.

Numeral possibilities began to cloud his mind, and it was not helping that they were all made out of negativity, as he was losing every ounce of his patience left from going on a search for that hoarders that tried to take advantage of you in your vulnerable state.

How could this happen? he was always there to be your protector, a vow that he swore to himself whenever you’re in danger, so why did this happen? 

Why didn’t you call his name? at that time, were you thinking that it will be your last breath? is that why? because you didn’t want him to experience holding your lifeless body in his arms?

He didn’t even waste a single second teleporting to your door after the chef gave him the go-signal to visit you, and just to his luck it was the same exact moment that Verr Goldet had left the room with multiple cottons that has patches of blood on it, on the first aid in her hands.

Verr Goldet could see the evident concern and worry on Xiao's face which was a rare behavior from him, so to ease his worries the lady approached him and informed the yaksha that your wounds are already patched up. It might take some time for some of the injuries to heal, so the least thing he could do right now is to monitor the said wounds, if it's causing you further discomfort.

It didn't take too long for the lady of the Inn to fled from the scene, leaving Xiao on his own who still didn't dare to enter the room, as he was too afraid to touch you that even a single finger could be the continuous cause of your pain.

He hesitantly slid the door to open, and there found you buried in the blanket of the futon as the yaksha freezes in his position, cautiously checking if the sound he was making is disturbing you. The steady circulation of your breathing could be seen from the corner of his eye, but it wasn't enough to ease his worries.

Knowing that he had mastered the ability of staying quiet, he soon finds himself standing over your figure, while carefully searching for any expression on your face to tell him if one of the wounds are acting up to give you any displeasure.

After monitoring that you were doing okay at the moment, the heavy weight that he has been carrying on his shoulders were lifted up, as Xiao let out a shaky sigh of relief and his knees gave up on the floor beside the futon you’re laying on.

Words are not enough to describe how terrified he was and how his world stopped moving for a moment after the words had reached his ears that you were hurt, that he could have almost lost you then and there if not for your strong will to go back home to him.

He’s no stranger to loss, he had experienced this same feeling many years ago after losing his known family because of the karmic debt, but for some reason he was saved by the geo archon himself, and up until now he continued to question that why of all people, why was he saved from his suffering? what is his purpose?

Xiao was engrossed by the thoughts that are plaguing his mind, not until he turned back to look at your sleeping form just to check if you’re peace isn’t being interrupted, and at that moment, that exact time, there was the answer he has been looking for, it was right in front of him all this time.

It was you, you were the answer. He was born to meet you, he was saved to protect you and he was saved to love you.

Xiao lifted his hand to caress your face, and you subconsciously reacted to it, as you leaned your face into his hand, and as much as he wants to search for the treasure hoarders that even dared to scratch the only person he puts effort in, he doesn’t pay attention to it at the moment since he prefers to not be separated with you for a second, fearing that your condition will get worse if he leaves your side.

It was a naive move for this hoarders, who even thought that they would not be punished because of their actions, and it was also naive of them to think that there is nobody who’s brave enough to face them. However, all those pride and bravery will be gone in an instant, once xiao has set his eyes on them.

For now, they may move freely wherever they please but the moment he could put his emotions and mind in peace after seeing a good progress from your recovery, he would not hesitate to tear every inch of teyvat looking for the hoarders.

The panic flashes through his eyes, as he tried to keep his emotions and thoughts in check, but failed to do so because he couldn’t bear to see you suffer any longer.

The both of you were just trying to finish the last commission for the day by finishing this hilichurl camp near springvale, and because you didn’t pay much attention to your surroundings, you didn’t notice the mitachurl making its way towards you.

It was even too late for aether to notice or at least warn you, that it intentionally hit you on the head with its shield, causing you to collapse on the spot because of the impact.

Only then that the blond was aware of your situation when he heard the panicked screams from paimon, as she desperately flew towards you and tried to wake you up while the creature continues to advance near the both of you.

At that moment, Aether's whole body was paralyzed from the shock and fear that had struck him, as he tried to scream your name, but nothing came out of it. the words were stuck in his throat and all he could do was desperately watch the scene in front of him.

He’s not one to lose his composure completely, but all it took for him to lose it was the mitachurl continuing to take advantage of your vulnerable state as his tiny companion never once left you, and instead hid on the side of your neck as she was on the verge of tears because of your unconsciousness.

In a flash, the said creature was put to rest in aether’s hands as his anger had gotten way ahead of him. He was shaking, and the sword in his hand dropped to the ground creating a clattering sound as he grits in teeth in frustration for carelessly letting that creature harm you.

Mondstadt’s honorary knight? What's the point of holding a title like this, and being showered by constant encouragements from the citizens, when he couldn’t even protect his lover? 

Whispering thoughts of discouragement began to torment his mind, as they began to chant that he isn’t strong enough, that he’s the reason why you’re in this state, that- all those voices vanished in an instant with Paimon's desperate voice overpowering them.

The little mascot was shaking his shoulders vigorously with tear stains on the corner of her eyes, as she shouted at him that they need to bring you to the cathedral now where barbara could help you, and that there wasn’t anytime to waste.

Aether’s feet moved in auto-pilot as he carried you to ride on his back, gripping your legs firmly before making a run for it, while ignoring to catch his breath with paimon flying by his side. screw everything, the only thing racing through his mind right now, is to get you help and the treatment you need.

He can’t lose you, not when he already got separated from his twin

The knights that were on duty to stand guard at the gates of the city, didn’t hesitate to sprang into action after seeing their honorary knight’s desperate and distressed state. The other went to fetch the healers and barbara, while the other assisted by making way for the three of you, as the citizens in mondstadt were left to witness the scene with confused yet terrified expressions.

The blond arrived at the cathedral as he continued to ignore the burning feeling in his lungs, too engrossed and desperate for you to be treated immediately instead.

As Barbara and a knight assisted the both of you to enter the establishment, Aether fell on his knees with a loud thud as the traveler took deep heavy breathes from running while looking at your disappearing form entering the doors of the cathedral.

Before the hydro vision wielder could follow your unconscious body that was being carried by the knight, she felt a desperate hand tugging her back and when she turned to look at the culprit, there she saw Aether on his knees, a few droplets of his tears threatening to fall from the corner of his eye, as the hopelessness in his voice begged her to do everything she could do, to heal and save you.

The deaconess couldn’t help but feel bad for her dear friend, as she patted his shoulder to assure him that you will be alright, and you would recover in no time because you’re in good hands. thus, those were the last words Aether had heard before Barbara turned her back on him, as she proceeded to prepare to heal you with the abilities she has got.

Aether didn’t dared to move from his position despite hearing the pleas and protests from the other knights who had caught wind of the situation, as the only thing swimming in his mind right now, is you and your safety. It continued to be like that, until someone had to at least bring him something to seat on if he’s planning to be waiting for the process to be finished.

He was a complete mess which was something rare to be seen from Paimon's perspective, and despite the aching feeling that the both of them continued to feel, the little mascot still didn’t hesitate to throw in a few words of moral support to the traveler.

Sooner or later, the sound of the doors of the cathedral caught Aether's attention, which caused the blond to stand up from his seat, who was impatiently awaiting for barbara’s response if the process had gone well or could have gone worse, but after seeing the successful and relief look painted on the deaconess’ face, all the big weight that his whole body was carrying have been lifted as if he could breathe again.

It didn’t take too long for aether to enter the cathedral’s infirmary, as he was granted by barbara’s full permission to do so, who had taken pity for the blond and yourself.

As he quietly opened the door, he saw you still in a deep slumber as barbara informed him that you will need to take some nap at the moment, since the hit from the shield was a bit harder than intended.

He gently seated on the side of your bed, watching the fall and rise of your chest, as he scans the bandages that were carefully wrapped around your head, were the bruise was located. he was about to reluctantly touch it but backed up the last minute, as he was too terrified to unintentionally hurt you even more and worse, could interrupt your rest.

Aether held your hands with his, as he placed a chaste kiss on top of it while caressing it gently as he could. the blond soon closed his eyes in relief, letting himself shed the tears he has been holding back for a while now.

If he was only aware of what’s happening around him then this should have never happened, but you’re still here, breathing and alive for him, isn’t it?

Aether may have committed the mistake of not being able to protect you, but that doesn’t mean that he’s going to commit the same mistake again, because he’s going to make sure that not even a single finger would harm you, never again.

His smile falters the moment the fatui agents from his divison, entered his office in a nervous and cautious state, to inform him that an enemy of the organization had ambushed you, after knowing that you were the harbinger’s significant other.

The temperature in his room completely drops, as he demanded them to let him see the clearer picture, and no it wasn’t the tone of his voice that made the agents start to shake in their boots, it was also not the pen that he was holding for signing the papers in front of him, that he had snapped in an instant after your name had left their mouth, but it was the continuous smile that he continues to wear, like he isn’t even affected at all.

But behind the facade he puts up for the public, do not be betrayed by his expressions, because deep down he’s actually more affected than you think, and just the thought of someone even daring to touch his precious gem, and leaving their trace on you had made him more livid than he had imagine.

The fatui agents began to push at each other on who should open their mouth, knowing that pantalone doesn’t like to wait especially if it’s about you on the line. The longer they continue to argue who should do it, the shorter the regrator’s patience is running thin from their childish shenanigans.

He absolutely doesn’t have the time for this, as countless thoughts began to stir up in his mind. what if you’re looking for his comfort and assurance right now? what if you’re injuries aren’t being treated yet? what if you think that he doesn’t care at all? what if he loses you before he could even see your condition?

Pantalone clicked his tongue in annoyance and frustration as he raised his voice at them, clearly demanding an explanation before the bubbling anger bursts inside him, which only happens during once a blue moon. His voice alone stopped the dispute between the agents in front of him, as one of them finally decided to took the bait and explain the situation to the harbinger.

Every word that leaves from the agent continued to fuel Pantalone's anger and bloodthirst that was a rare sight to see from him, as he could feel his knuckles underneath the exquisite gloves he wore, started turning white from the pressure of clenching his fist, while trying to put up with the forced smile up on his face.

How dare this people touch you? how dare they even consider that going for his lover, is a great idea? how dare they think they could get away with this?

There’s nothing more than he wants to do about this low lives but to capture and torture them right away, but knowing that you’re probably shaken up and is in need of his presence right now, he decided to set aside those thoughts for now.

As soon as the agent’s explanation had come to an end, the current of the air around the room was completely tense and suffocative, that even the fatui agents standing in front of Pantalone could feel the weighing pressure.

The beat was quiet for a few moments before the man tried to calmly spoke, as he desperately tries to calm himself down from the burning wrath that is boiling inside him, while trying to make his instructions clear to them.

A few minutes has passed by after the confrontation when the fatui agents didn’t wasted a millisecond bringing the ninth to where you are right now, and each step he takes continues to increase the uneasiness pooling inside of him, which was not a common emotion he always show.

The journey to where you’re being assisted and treated at the moment, didn’t take much time as pantalone soon finds himself standing in front of your door, while the agents left him to do some “business” the man gave them before leaving his office.

Pantalone raised his hand which was oddly shaking and reached the door knob to open it slowly, only to find you in a terrified and panicked state, while the healers around you tried to ease your worries, which are what they were doing until all of them stood up professionally before politely exiting the room after seeing the regrator behind the door.

A wave of confusion hits you when they all left the room immediately one by one, until you turned your back and found your lover staring right into your soul, with an unknown emotion painted on his face. Pantalone's posture was too tense, as his eyes carefully and closely dart over you, while looking for the said injuries that the suspect had gave you before looking back at your face.

He took a step towards you, looking for any signs if you don’t want him to go further, but after seeing the encouraging look on your face, he took hurried steps, until he was kneeling in front of you while clasping his hands with yours.

Pantalone touched the side of your face with the back of his hand, as the tear stains in your eyes could still be seen, before he cups your face into his hands as he gently demanded if you have any idea who did this to you, and if you remember at least one of them, but after shaking your head and barely whispering that you just don’t want him to leave you right now, he decided to not question it any further.

He stood up from the floor and soon sat beside you, as he swiftly grabbed your waist and putted you on his lap, as he gave you the opportunity of letting you burry your head on his chest, while his arms enveloped around you like a protective shield before putting a desperate kiss on the top of your head.

Pantalone couldn’t help but to wrap his arms around you tighter but not tight enough to make you uncomfortable as you peacefully lay in his arms. All the stress and headache that he was feeling, were all gone after bringing you back in his open arms, as if you were his only medicine that could genuinely calm him done in this land.

As for the said enemy who was the main cause why you’re in this condition, he would let them run away for now, giving them the chance to think that the fatui would not be able to find them. But let it be a reminder, that once he had gathered the intel that he needs before capturing them, he would not give them a chance to even breathe the same air as you.

In the name of his majesty’s Tsaritsa, he would not let this same scenario happen again, he would not let you be harmed again, he would not let the only thing, that’s keeping him in check be taken away from him by some low lives and for those people who are responsible for this, would be met with a severe punishment from him.

And no, he doesn’t care if the expensive and ravishing clothes he’s wearing would be tainted by their blood, he’s not the wealthiest out of the harbingers isn’t it? He could easily replaced those with a chunk of cash.

They may have thought that they could escape from someone as him, but their judgement was wrong when they will soon find themselves trap in a cage like a helpless bird, once they are in his control and territory.

One thing's for sure, and that is they should have known better than to underestimate Pantalone’s wrath.

But not you. You laid incorrectly in bed away from the sunlight with a blanket thrown over your head, mind possessed by the tablet device that was gifted to you by your caretaker.

When you first received it, you were rather surprised to hear it did belong to him as he may or may not have been a hacker when he was younger. He definitely didn't seem like the type.

What sucks is he refuses to teach you anything in that genre, so now whenever you play some game and a bot you call a teammate throws, they get away with it.

You didn't care too much anymore since your gaming drive died down a little. You were mostly on your tablet for a while to scroll through the media and read cheesy things that you know you'd be damned if Nightwolf discovers it.

"Y/n?" You hear him knock at your door gently.

"Yeah?" Your attention was provoked from the screen, and you stopped kicking your feet in the air to see what your savior wants.

Opening the door, he peeks in to observe you for a bit. You can see the man has gone somewhere earlier this morning, hence by his usual red war paint around his eyes. Guess you just didn't hear him go out since technology keeps wasting your senses, with a bit of sleep deprivation, but you weren't doing much to fix that.

"Good morning." Nightwolf says, seeing you shielding yourself from the day with your covers. "Sleep well?"

Glancing up at him, you just shrug.

"You didn't sleep yet, did you?" He sighs.

"Nope."

You only were thinking on who it is. Maybe someone from his tribe? A girl, maybe? You didn't care for a mother figure as long as she didn't coddle too much.

Your father figure brings you to the living room, and let's go of your hand. You stand a bit awkward as you examine who the guest is.

It was a man. What catches you off guard is his glowing eyes. It's not the most abnormal thing you've seen. You'd ask Nightwolf to summon his animals so you could play with them. But you weren't really expecting someone that barely has visible pupils.

He also has a tattoo in his shoulder that glows up as well, which was pretty cool to see. But his eyes... you really should stop being into creepypasta.

Fujin walks to you two, with a very friendly smile. "Why, hello, Y/n! Nightwolf has spoken of you a lot! I'm very pleased to finally meet you." He extends a hand.

There wasn't much you had to say, but you hesitantly took his hand, shaking it. "Thanks... Nice to meet you, too... Lord Fujin- oh!"

You get pulled into a sudden embrace, but you didn't respond negatively to it. You glanced back at Grey Cloud, and he was rather unexpected of it, too. However, you knew the god didn't mean harm. He's just happy to meet someone close to his dear Nightwolf.

"You can just call me Fujin, little one. We are both close ones of Nightwolf, are we not?" He pulls away and pats your back, looking down at you with such a comforting aura.

"Right." You look away, getting flustered.

Nightwolf finally steps in and leads Fujin to the kitchen. "Care for any tea?" You could hear him ask as they both go to another room. You take the chance to scramble back to your room and process what just happened.

An hour gone by, and you could hear chatting at the front door. You open your door to take a peek. It appears Fujin was about to leave.

Contrary to what you thought earlier about meeting new people, the white-haired man was quite interesting to you.

Turning around and spotting you, Nightwolf gestures silently for you to come and say bye to the special guest. You listen and approach them, still looking at Fujin.

"It was nice meeting you again, Y/n," Fujin bows to you. "Maybe next time I come by, we can spend time together! I can bring you a gift too- do you like clouds? Or sponge cake?"

Wow, he's very energetic for you. You look at Nightwolf for some type of guidance.

"It's up to you." The shaman says. "You can trust him."

"I'm okay with whatever you give me... or if you want to hang out a little, I guess." You shrug.

"Great!" Fujin then looks at Grey. "I'll see you soon when I break from my duties again."

Thoughts began brewing your mind as you noticed the change of tone in Fujin's voice, and the very sincere look he gives  Nightwolf. Especially the hand placement on the shoulder, your caretaker's hand placing over that one.

Fujin left, and you stood with Nightwolf trying to process things. "'Close friend', huh?" You say with sarcasm, raising your eyebrow at the tall man.

Nightwolf sighs, yet nods. "Indeed. 'Close friend.'" ~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have some thoughts re: Kayne / godhood (spoilers for intermezzo)

I don't think Kayne respects any of the other gods. He definitely doesn't respect the King in Yellow, he knocked him over the head w/ an oversized mallet to give him amnesia and stuck him in Arthur's head and reduced the Dreamlands to "a lawless waste" for a laugh. He also destroyed his city for the hell of it. He doesn't fucking care. He's rude to John, ignores him, says 'Arthur' when referring to both of them. I thought I noticed this undercurrent of quiet animosity, but felt vindicated during 40 + Intermezzo b/c he was suddenly soooooo loud! Ignoring & talking over John? Check. Telling him he's not special like Arthur? Check. Saying he'll torture him worse than Arthur just because he can? Check. My theory is it's b/c John's still a god, technically. Like the whole, choosing your own name + path... you'd think would be something Kayne could sympathize with (as much as Kayne can feel sympathy), but...........no. He knows John is easier to manipulate w/ fear (he can send him back to the Dark World w/ a snap of his fingers), and saves his faux sympathy for Arthur.

I think this is b/c he likes humans. Sure, he also likes killing them, but I don't think those impulses are mutually exclusive. Kayne's the most "human" of the gods we've met. He talks like a human, makes pop culture references, looks passingly human, etc. I think he envies them, in a way? They have a freedom I think he lacks as a god, even though they are confined to one timeline. We still don't fully understand how gods work, but from his description alone it sounds like he thinks of them as limited. They have incredible power compared to mortals, they exist outside the piano... but are confined to a single key. Which sounds to me like their path is predetermined and they're not intended to develop free will. Kayne's an anomaly b/c he does, or tries to.

He wants to put humans in an antfarm, perhaps as a demonstration of his free will. That's all Carcosa was, right? An antfarm. He wanted to play godzilla, smash the ants. Arthur's another ant in a different farm, and he watched his entire life play out across several verses to try to figure him out. What makes him unique is he dies in every other verse. Kayne can't figure out what makes this Arthur so special that he survives when all the others don't, but it implies he did something right with his free will, that this version is an "anomaly" like Kayne. He respects that, b/c it means this version of Arthur has done the same thing he has: taken control of their narrative. Even Kayne choosing his own name is an example of that. Becoming Kayne, rejecting the title Nyarlathotep and all the baggage that comes with it, the expectation to be what his father wants, a messenger for the outer gods (although he may still want that, I expect whatever his intentions are re: the Black Stone, they're his, not Azathoth's).

Arthur is usually a mirror for character's to see their humanity reflected, but instead of seeing his humanity (b/c he has none), Kayne looks at Arthur and sees himself. Which... surprised me? He seems so confident in his godhood, I thought he just viewed Arthur as his fave toy or human, like even in the S4 finale I found it hilarious how he kept going: "why can't you all just be more like Arthur???" apropo of.....nothing, but he didn't treat him like someone he identified with, so it caught me off-guard when he compared himself to Arthur, but that's big for a god! and I think it supports my thesis he envies humans for their freedom. Their roles aren't as "established" as a god's. Humans have free will, something he had to kill every other version of himself to gain. Even then, I think absorbing his alts (???) or whatever he did after killing them to become more powerful fucked him up, may have driven him mad if he wasn't already when he started this exercise in defending-himself-from-ever-getting-deleted, like he doesn't sound okay when he's talking to himself.

TLDR: Kayne thinks Arthur's special b/c he lived, when all the other Arthur's in Kayne's Arthur-Killing-Experiment died! (: Kayne can't figure out why, but he likes not knowing why. He likes humanity b/c of their freedom, b/c he's a chaos god who wants as much freedom as possible. And he's aware gods are fallible, they can be deleted, which takes all the romance out of godhood. Kayne's the most powerful god we've met b/c he's taken steps to emulate humanity's free will, the thing that makes Arthur "special," but what makes Arthur "hard to see" is probably his humanity. As much as Kayne likes humanity, I don't think it's something he can truly understand, which is why he enjoys sticking humans full of pins and trying.

I think it's neat Malevolent prizes humanity over godhood. Even gods seem to value humanity over godhood. John wants to become human. Yellow wants acceptance from a human. I think Kayne holds humans in higher esteem than gods. Those who look down on humans or try to 'ascend' and leave behind their humanity, like Larson, are clearly in the wrong. It's not seen as a weakness to be human, and even the parts of humanity that are usually written off as a weakness (our rage, grief, violence, desperation, etc...) are viewed as strengths in Malevolent, and I fucking love that about this show.

Some notes on my au/Slenderbros headcanons

The Operator and Slenderman are two separate entities. They're both eldritch horrors, but the Operator is far more malevolent and nasty, going out of his way to torment people until they eventually break and "transform" into his proxies. Whereas Slender is just kinda vibing.

The Operator, Slenderman, Trenderman, Splendorman, and Offenderman are all part of the same "species," whatever the hell that may be, but are not brothers. The latter four collaborate with each other on occasion and won't correct you if you do mistakenly refer to them as "brothers," but they will be incredibly offended if you associate them with the Operator. They cannot stand him and the feeling is mutual.

The quartet, while still being powerful, are all far weaker than the Operator as well. The Operator feeds off of negative energy which he sows by stalking and torturing his victims - which can be adults or even children, he isn't picky - and reaps by either "proxifying" the strong ones or slaughtering and eating the weak ones. Viciously. This greatly disturbs and even disgusts them.

So they're not senseless killers by any means, but they're not exactly morally upstanding either (except for maybe Trender). Slender has an entire mansion dedicated to housing and protecting lone killers, monsters and poltergeists. The Human Realm and the Monster Realm are incompatible with each other in his eyes, and he wants to give them a place to call home now that they have "rejected their humanity." He won't outright harm them himself, but he absolutely won't hesitate to ban anyone who disturbs the peace. When it comes to outsiders, however, he can get... violent. He'll just scare off any curious human who gets too close without physically hurting them, but anyone with foul intentions will be disposed of immediately. There's a reason the SCP Foundation hasn't been able to lay a hand on him.

Trender is an odd case, an outcast even among his "brothers." He fully embraces his humanity and is infatuated with human culture and behavior. In fact, most of his time is spent in the Human Realm in a more, shall we say socially acceptable form. He loves his brothers dearly, but unfortunately due to their limited emotional capacity, the feeling cannot be fully returned, although Splendor tries, at least.

Speaking of which... Splendor is a guardian entity of sorts with the sole purpose of protecting children. He has a unique ability that essentially "blesses" any child he comes in contact with. If a deathly sick child is suddenly cured, or if a depressed child is somehow happy and smiley out of seemingly nowhere, you can safely bet that they have been visited by Splendor. On the flip side, he is the most brutal and violent out of the four, and won't think twice to tear apart anyone or anything who dares harm a child. That being said, he absolutely despises Laughing Jack and Mr. Widemouth, and is the reason why Candle Cove eventually went off the air, although how he managed to accomplish this is still unknown.

(Let me get one thing straight. This is a fandom built around horror, gore, and topics that generally make one uncomfortable. However, there are some lines I just won't cross, and SA is one of them. So, here's my version of Offender.)

Like Trender, Offender is also one who indulges in the luxuries of the Human Realm, but unlike the former, he never sticks around. He is, for lack of a better word, a "player." He lives for passion and debauchery, and sees no reason to waste his endless years cooped up in a mansion or babysitting children all day. Every night is filled with drinking, gambling, and sex with any woman who is interested, in some cases (well, many cases) more than one at once. In his opinion, women are the best thing humanity has to offer. He is not a predator, though. It's unknown how the unfortunate nickname was bestowed upon him, but he hates it with a passion. Why would he force himself on someone when their enthusiastic consent and eagerness for him is part of how fucking sexy they are? Anyways, don't think that makes him an saint. He'll still leave the second the sun begins to rise. Commitment isn't exactly his forte.

[some brief suicide ideation mentions in this post] for those kind of newer to the ebilxperience, my mental health has been way waaaay better since like late 2021 to now than it has for most of my life up to that point (people who followed me before then might remember some...intense sadposting). I just haven't really felt...too super bad very often. I feel bad sometimes but not so bad I wanted to die, which used to be a regular problem. The episodes of intense suicide ideation in response to feelings of wasted potential or the inevitability of feeling isolation from other human beings just sort of stopped happening. I would chalk all of this up to unknowable brain chemistry, by the way, and not any external causes I've been able to identify.

At the time that this changed, what also became clear was the inability to get shit done that we had all just thought was depression did not go away when my depression magically cleared itself out of the way. I still kind of really sucked at getting shit done. This is what ultimately enabled the late-ass-and-i'm-still-not-entirely-convinced-im-not-somehow-faking-it ADHD diagnosis from my psych who was like Oh. Actually That Tracks. The things I'm not good at making myself do largely extend to anything that both involve a risk of rejection/hurt feelings, anything that requires some believe I personally 'deserve it' (job apps, asking for references), and things that don't have built-in accountability/deadlines (funny stupid example: i'll do a job app for sure if someone I know referred me to the position and is going to be aware/disappointed if I don't submit it, because that too is a form of fearing rejection! so oops, i hacked my rejection anxiety into making myself take a risk).

As you can imagine a lot of career related and interpersonal activities, as well as various day to day life tasks, fall into a combo of these things. I haven't really been able to fix that and by objective life milestone measures continue to underachieve in both career stuff and interpersonal relationships. But...it hasn't gotten me down for the past couple years, and the biggest reason is I've been able to get a lot of joy out of my art and writing during this time period.

And this....allows me to...kind of avoid having to look at how unfulfilling those areas are. But I really need to...face it.

Because I've become more and more aware that there are people, ones around my general age range, ones who may face similar Brain Issues or corresponding obstacles, that do go and find self fulfillment in more than one of these fronts. I actually got super sad about this last night for the first time in ages cuz I heard from someone who has a lot of interests in common with me but was finding fulfillment on multiple fronts, creative *and* interpersonal *and* career.

And maybe it's greedy of me to want it, but god, the life where I get to do all my silly creative bullshit/wrting/art/pet ownership but *miraculously, also, somehow* have a job and career that I don't feel conflicted and unhappy and 'i never really tried to make my dreams manifest' about, and am able to make new friendships and like date and stuff, I...do think I want that for myself and have been denying both that desire and the fact I might have the potential to achieve it.

idk this is kind of nothing but tl;dr i'm gonna start trying again and just wanted to ramble about it on tungus for a sec

I always find the reaction between MCU Wanda and 616 Wanda in universe to be so interesting because 616 Wanda is a hero who is condemned for falling to her emotions and reacting to trauma poorly but MCU Wanda is still declared a hero, in universe, and is literally treated as "baby girl who can do no wrong" by literally every superhero that meets her. I just find it so interestingly fucked up that 616 doesn't get to be excused the same way MCU does in any regard, including in universe. When she has tried 10,000 times harder than Wendy ever has.

Edit: hey this post was made before MoM and I'm specifically talking about the difference between COMIC Wanda (the REAL 616) and MCU (aka earth 199999 (DESPITE what the movies may tell you)). Because I know people are now going to be confused for a hot sec.

Anyway Im3 was fucking right in not having the mandarin be the legit villain of the film because it was 2013 and having Tony Stark, a rich white American billionaire, have his biggest enemy at the end of his trilogy be "Asia all along" sucks ass. im1 and im2 had asian enemies in it (the "ten rings" in Afghanistan and Vanko, respectively) but they were ultimately about rich people (and usually rich white people) being terrible. Which, in my opinion, was the better option.

In im1 and im2, the main antagonists that pull the plot along are other rich white billionaires who throw money at their problem (Tony) with unethical rich person means. (Hammer hires Vanko with the intention of using him as a way to get to Tony because he's petty as well as using him to further his own military business by selling Vankos inventions under his name) (Stane makes shady deals and puts Tony's weapons up on the black market (which, by the way, what happened to Wanda and Pietro was either a result of Stane's shady deals that Tony was unaware of (Tony was also almost blown up by a Stark branded missile! That he DEFINITELY did not sell! He made the arc reactor so that the shrapnel in his heart wouldn't tear it to shreds!), or US military shittyness, something that Tony was uneducated on, learned about, and immediately, as in literally the second he could, when he was literally supposed to still be in a wheelchair, called a in-person press conference and shut down his weapons program, and immediately became one of the most anti-military characters in the MCU (like in the avengers, when he got real angry about being referred to as soldiers).

Killian isn't a good character, he's doesn't have a particular compelling origin story and wasting the foundation of AIM in the MCU on him sucks. Yes. But he's the last in the list of Iron Man villains that make sense in terms of Tony's personal turning over a new leaf. Stane and Hammer (and Vanko to a degree) are exaggerated versions of Tony's own personal flaws, the things he has to keep in check about HIMSELF. And in that sense, Killian is too. Killian is, if looking in a mirror, an exaggerated version of Tony's desire to be acknowledged and accepted by the people he loves, not being able to take rejection well, and being a risk taker, blown out of proportion. (Tony does deeply crave the affection of those he loves but he doesn't think he naturally deserves it. And while he can be reckless it typically starts and ends with himself. The very last thing Tony would do is, say, start human experimentation (on anyone besides himself) on something known to be dangerous). Killian is impulsive, vindictive, dismissive, self-centered and incapable of reflecting on himself in a meaningful way (basically just any "nice guy" guy on Twitter). He got so butthurt about a single night he dedicated the rest of his life to trying to get back at Tony about it (REAL big "nice guy" on Twitter vibes). He's not well written, he's not even that fun. What makes him interesting, though, is that Tony was kinda all of those things too. (Before his time spent with Yinsen, before Iron Man, before the Avengers).

Tony has never been as bad a Stane, or Hammer, or Killian. But thematically their characters are all "this bad thing about Tony pre-Afghanistan taken 12 steps further."

I don't know I'm just saying in my opinion I think it was better for Tony's main villains to be exaggerated caricatures of himself over using the Mandarin. And that they were right to save a character like the real Mandarin for Shang-Chi where they could be explored and used narratively in a proper manner.

DES 302 - Week 7 Capstone

Another week another reflective model! And today I will tackle Gibbs' Reflective Cycle (1988)...

Description:

The week just been was our last week before the mid semester break, and to be honest I was barely holding up. The week started with a high as I felt ahead of schedule with the roadmap I created for capstone. Rather than continuing the define phase, I was able to push onto the ideate phase! As predicted, I knew this phase would be difficult, and indeed it has been hard to triumph in this phase. What slumped my week was after having some one-on-one feedback with Diana. I had concerns about the AR space I wanted to ideate because I can't exactly 'design' the AR space until I have a workshop. But due to ethics, I can't exactly go out to the public and co-create with the community - therefore I mitigated this with the hopes that I could co-create a space with the stream leaders to then create their 'ideal' workplace. However, Diana was very quick to shut this idea down and I was simple told the stream leaders are all too busy.

Feelings:

The past week I have felt like the passage to my creative side in the brain was physically shut off - nothing and I mean NOTHING was comprehending. When I get into brain fogs like this I tend to try relaxing methods such as going to the gym, listening to music, having a coffee and kai. However, these methods still did not work - I am thinking this brain-block is also due to things outside of uni that have stressed me (work, moving flats, planning an overseas trip) Annoyingly, I know that more I put pressure on myself to 'be creative' the more my body rejects the thoughts... it's not like I have the time to waste though so I am in this loophole of anxiety and irritability.

Evaluation:

Perhaps capstone will teach me more than design methods, but methods in relaxation haha. To be completely transparent, what has not been working so well for me is the feedback I get from my stream leader - it tends to confuse or overwhelm me and I know she means well but naturally I don't think we adhere to one another. Something that I need to focus more on now is having conversations with fresh faces to gain fresh perspectives. I also feel talking to other stream leaders would benefit me as they can assist in their expertise (Eg. Mairi could direct me in design precedents for AR spaces or be better equiped to advise me if this design solution is feasible for my HMW statement).

Analysis:

I assume that conversations with my stream leader may have not gone so well due to the stress she has with her workload. I understand she also has a lot on her plate, but I would have appreciated transparency rather than dismissive rejection to the idea of co-creating together. However, on a more positive note outside of what I have discussed above. The library has been a great tool for me in gaining advertisement precedents. A book I have thoroughly enjoyed was Creative Advertising: ideas and techniques from the world's best campaigns by Mario Pricken (2002). This book has started to ignite my creative excitement for designing a marketing campaign. An exemplar from this book that I really want to lead my work from is The wrong working environment campaign (2005).

Conclusion:

Ultimatley, I can't say from this past week I have learnt a lot. However I am accepting that I am still working on my ability to surpass the creative blockers I am experiencing.

Action Plan:

Importantly, what I need to do is build the courage to communicate with other stream leaders (even my 302 teachers). Here, I will be able to gain diverse and fresh feedback - the more feedback, the stronger my structure for the design solution will be!

When I took admission in R.K mission, I made 2 friends and they both are like me, they had taken new admission. We had a trios, but after sometime, I ended up with that girl (let her name be sitara). Before telling you the reason why I ended with that girl, I want to add something here. Sitara and noori (my current bff) both liked me but they don't like each other. Sitara always wanted me to be her bff. One day, she asked me "will you be my bff?", I replied in yes because I don't want to break her heart. But later on, I felt more connected and comfortable with noori. So, I ended up with her. Another reason was she (sitara) was not interested in studies. She likes to talk during lectures that disturbs and frustrates me. The strange part about this ending is I never had said to sitara that we are done or it's over. I think sitara understood herself that we (here, by we I am referring to me and my bff) need space. We three used to eat together during recess but after sometime we (referring to me and bff) stopped inviting her. I think she felt ignored that's why she herself stopped joining us. This is all about past, let's come to present.In present, she is the displicine in-charge of the class. And she used to disturb our (me and bff) communication a lot by saying don't talk. It's irritating although she will be removed from her position within a month as this is the rule of our class. But I learnt a very crucial lesson today.

Learning:- Networking with people is very important. Never break any relationship in a second. First, think a lot ponder about him/her that he/she can be useful for you in present or future or not. If not end up, if yes it will be useful, be in that relationship. Also, never make any relationship in a second, think a lot that this person can be useful or not. I think you may call me a selfish person but this is very useful tip because this tiny learning had ruined the excellence of huge buisnesses. It is all because they did everything alright but they didn't built a good connection with peoples which led to massive failures and losses, Example:- Microsoft. I rejected the friendship of sitara believing it was useless but I hadn't ponder for once that she can help me in future. That was my mistake. Note:- 1. I don't mean to be in toxic realtionship. No matter how much loss you made, get out of toxicity because toxicity eats a person happy positive aura and it leaves the hollow human body. Therefore, never be in toxic realtionship.

2. Building relationships doesn't mean you are weak, asking for help doesn't mean you are weak. It just means you are clever, it means you are the owner of a strong trickster mind. The motive of building relationships is important because you don't know when you need someone's help. No one knows the coincidence.
