Bright like the sun (Birthday Gift)

This fic is a birthday gift for @lizaluvsthis i hope ya enjoy it and you have a great birthday! If you want to use the picture credit me please! (i didn't mean for it to post early so yay early birthday gift for you!!)

Summary: SMG4 gets invited to an exclusive party for you tubers but needs a date to get in, good thing his good friend SMG3 owes him a favor! Tags: Fluff, Sun and Moon, confession, first kiss, these fruits be gay! SMG4 was bouncing with excitement, after so many years of him making content he got the legendary letter. The story is well known among youtubers, when a youtuber has hit a certain number of subscribers a letter will appear in it, an invite to a theme party. There you can meet other youtubers and make collaboration videos with them to gain more attention to your channel, SMG4 has been dying to go to one and finally the day has arrived.

He opens the letter to read the invite, slowly his excitement vanishes as he sees the bottom line “You must bring a date….” He slowly places the letter on his desk, then sprints out of the castle running to each of his friends asking them to be his date. Each of his friends frown apologizing due to already having plans, he sighs sitting outside of his castle. He has worked so hard to get this invite, how is he going to get a date?

SMG3 walks out of his cafe and notices a depressed SMG4 sitting outside, he looks around unsure if he should approach. Seeing no one is around he rolls his eyes and walks up to four “Hey scrub, is there a reason you're sitting out here like a dumbass?” SMG4 looks up at Three, realizing he never asked SMG3 he gets up in a flash taking SMG3 hand “WANT TO GO ON DATE WITH ME?!” SMG3's face goes bright red, without thinking he pulls his hand back and smacks SMG4 “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU ON ABOUT!?”

SMG4 pouts rubbing his cheek “I got an invite to an extremely rare youtuber party, but i can't go in without a date. I was hoping you would be my date,” he watches as Three relaxes and glares at him. He can already see the rejection happening, he prepares himself for the rejection only to end up surprised “Fine…Not because I want to go on a date with you! I just owe you for helping me get my notebook back!”

“YIPEE!!” he hugs Three tightly making the man squirm from the contact, after passing along the information he walks in his castle excited to see the party. Mario, watching everything, smirks “Ooo finally asks SMG3 on a date hmm?” Four was ready to deny the comment before it hit him. He asked SMG3 on a date, his eyes went wide as he realized he asked all his friends to join him but for SMG3 he told him it was a date. He slowly blinks, staring at Mario “Oh my god…I ASKED SMG3 ON A DATE!”

Mario, seeing Four Panic, ran up to him and rubbed his back to help his friend relax. The moment he saw SMG4 more relaxed he spoke up “Mario is sure SMG3 is happy you asked him!” Four wasn't sure how to reply beside a nervous nod, did he even see SMG3 in that way? He walks to his room looking at all his outfits, not that he had many he mostly wore the same style of clothing everyday. Seeing his spy rizz outfit he took it out, he did look good in it and it was the best outfit he had. He felt his stomach do flips at the idea that tonight he had a date with his friendly rival of several years, he wasn't sure what he wanted from it anymore. What started as a mission to meet more youtubers became a mission on learning what this strange feeling was in his heart.

In no time the sun has dropped and it was time for him to pick up Three, he fixes his bowtie and knocks at the cafe door. There Three opens its showing himself in a black tux with a purple tie, SMG4 lightly blush at the sight then notices the lack of hat “Wow you look amazing even more so with no hat,” noticing what he said he decided to try to cover his slip up “so many youtubers will certainly want your attention at the party!” Three rubs the back of his neck “Thanks! But I think I prefer having only one youtuber look at me.”

SMG4 tilts his head repeating the words in his head, did Three just flirt with him? With a small awkward cough bringing SMG4 back to reality he offers his arm which Three took and they walk off to the party. SMG4 was starting to get his excited bounce back as they got closer to the party “I can't wait to make all these connections! Ah my channel is gonna get huge, don't worry though Three you will always be in my heart when i get famous!” SMG3 rolls his eyes “Don't get your hopes up, trust me people aren't all sunshine and rainbows you should know after all you're a huge asshole yourself.” Four frowns at the comment but had to admit he wasn't a saint, he has made his fair share of mistakes. One of them which ruined another person's life, how SMG3 was able to forgive him will always be a shock. They make it to the party, Four shows the invite to the guard outside “Date?” SMG4 shyly points to the man next to him who is still holding on to his arm “yo whats up?”

That was enough for the guard to let them in, as they walked into the party they both looked around in awe. The theme of the party was sun and moon destiny, a classic trope from what SMG4 heard from boopkins. SMG3 lets go of Four letting him blast off to talk to the other youtubers, he couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at his date before going off to mess with the guest. SMG4 did his best to use his charm to get attention from the several youtubers at the party, the more he attempted the more he felt his heart shatter from every rejection. The one that hurt the most was someone telling him that memes were cringe, he sits near the drinks and sighs. SMG3 wasn't wrong, he shouldn't have gotten his hopes up now that he has been rejected by everyone in the party he felt awkward being there.

Three was chuckling as a pair was panicking at finding the money in their wallet to be missing and replaced with plastic spiders. He turns to see SMG4 frowning, sitting alone. He had a feeling things weren't going to work, he sighs remembering how trying to get a collab months ago caused them to lose peach's castle and almost his own life. He looks around the room thinking on how to cheer his date up, he notices sun and moon necklaces and walks up to the table “Hey what's the deal with these?”

The man smiles at SMG3 “They are free for guests, the sun and moon are well known for bringing romance to one's life, come read and pick one for your date! The gems inside glow when you're in close contact, it's perfect for setting a mood!” Rolling his eyes at the man he takes out his phone to do research, he lets out a small smile as he puts on the moon then shoves the sun in his pocket. Slowly he approaches his date “You're that popular Youtuber SMG4 right cause I have a collab for you!” he smirks at the man. Four glares at his partner “Not in the mood for jokes or teasing Three.”

“No teasing dude, look I told you these guys would suck. But there is one thing at this party that doesn't suck.” blushing he slowly takes out the sun necklace handing it to Four. Confused, he takes the necklace looking up at Three. Feeling nervous SMG3 looks off to the side “You make the party suck less, you're like the sun in the story for this dumb party you're so annoyingly cheerful and optimistic but without those traits i wouldn't be where i am. You saved me and helped me shine. I guess what I'm trying to say is without you in my life..I can't shine as bright so stop being so upset over people that don't mean anything.”

SMG4's heart was racing at the man's words, was this a confession or was SMG3 being a good friend. He puts the necklace on and gets up with a bright smile “Thank you,” he then leans forward kissing SMG3 cheek. Their necklaces start to glow as the two men blush at what Four did. He wasn't sure it was the right move and was about ready to run off in a panic thinking Three would abandon him. He closes his eyes ready to apologize when he feels SMG3 grab his hand “Shut up and dont say what's on your mind, come on let's dance and show these losers what a sun and moon pair really look like!”

He chuckles and agrees as they run to the dance floor and start dancing, though they spend most of the dance fighting over who takes the lead. SMG4 gives SMG3 a bright smile, seeing that smile was too much for Three as he puts his hand on Fours waist and brings him close, SMG4 blushes looking into Three’s ruby eyes. Slowly they inch closer till their lips meet causing the gems in their necklace to glow brightly catching a few peoples attention. They pull apart looking into each other's eyes, SMG3 blushes and shyly looks down while SMG4 stares at three with hearts in his eyes.

An announcement was made letting everyone know the party was coming to an end causing the two men to awkwardly step away from each other. They leave the party and start walking home in silence, the party was an eye opener for the both of them. SMG4 never thought that asking SMG3 on a date by accident would make him realize all the strange fuzzy feelings that have been harassing him were because of a crush. He sighs and stops walking, Three noticing the other man wasn't next to him he turns confused.

“Three…what happened at the party was amazing, i never thought…i mean we have always teased and fought with each other i never thought that maybe we could be something more.” SMG4 lets out a nervous chuckle. SMG3 eyes widen noticing the blush on Fours face, he gets closer and slowly caresses his face “Don't get me wrong i hate your face, but…i wouldn't mind doing what we did at the party again.” Four smiles as he inches closer to Three “Oh really~ Well then shall we?” Without a second thought the pair closed the distance kissing again, sealing the deal on their new relationship. The smile SMG3 saw from his partner tonight was brighter than the sun itself, he made a promise to himself to protect that smile as they start heading home again.

Last part of my acoustic review!

First Previous

(Ik @lizaluvsthis pointed this out but I still wanted to talk about this scene as well)

When Smg3 hides Mario inside his hat for almost a good minute, Mario jumps out of there claiming that Smg3 needs to use shampoo or in other words needs a good shower.

Now, if we look into the latest video from the SMG4 Crew, if you’re one of those people who looks closer into the background details to find lore or clues that can lead up to a possible plot in future episodes of the series, you can see that Smg4 has researched if Smg3 takes a shower (as if Google is going to know that ._.xD) because he also has noticed that 3 stinks to the point that is kinda unbearable to be near him and even calling him out on it.

During the writing of this, I was talking to my partner and pointing out that Smg3 hasn’t taken a shower in days if not weeks, which I didn’t expect to have the same idea as him about the reason that he hasn’t taken a shower could be because maybe the guy is depressed since having depression can lead to not care about your hygiene that much or even yourself.

Which I’m going say that its probably going to get worse but who knows, maybe after this episode Smg3 will open up more but trust takes a long time to build up and specially when you lived almost your entire life alone, with no one to trust or cry to. Being in someone else’s shadow and everyone just viewing you as just the bad guy and never looking underneath that evil persona that you built up over the years.

But moving on, after Mario complains about Smg3’s odor. Getting poisoned, carried has a football, kidnapped and pulled like a rag doll…

Some may think that Smg4 still sees Smg3 as someone selfish and all but here’s the thing…

How was he supposed to know that Smg3 wasn’t feeling alright, if 3 isn’t letting his feelings out and just bottling himself to the point he snaps to Smg4 and tells him how he feels. How he’s been viewing himself as. Not caring anymore if Smg4 judges him or makes fun of him for being vulnerable, just like it happened when they wrecked his studio.

He even sounded like he was about to breakdown in front of Mario and Smg4, definitely a lot of emotion right there. To which I’ll say that James really did a good job with the voice acting👌

Now that Smg4 knows how 3’s been feeling, he does what a friend does and he well said it at the beginning of the episode

He lets Smg3 have the USB that was going to make 4’s channel popular, so 3’s café can be popular instead because he knows how much it matters to Smg3. He knows that this is going to give 3 that love and fame he’s been wanting for years.

If you guys remember that Sun and Moon example I did on the first part of this long ass review.

If I well said that the moon (Smg3) can’t shine that bright because is just a floating rock, it doesn’t mean the moon can’t receive help from the sun (Smg4) to shine a little bit by sharing some of that light. So, that’s what happened here.

(I expected a hug but I still like the fist bump 🤲✨)

After a beautiful and sentimental moment between these goobers, they see a light that at first they thought it was a sunrise but of course, they forgot that the dump was having a daily clean up that same night and like any normal human being, they would freak out and try to escape the place before getting blown to ashes.

Smg3 blames Mario for running away and Mario tells him that if only they knew how to BLJ, they wouldn’t have taken that long to find him. That’s when Smg4 has an idea to get them out of there, telling Mario to BLJ for their lives.

Eventually they get out of there and land on 3’s CnB. Smg3 grabs the video and starts to upload it to endorse his café buuut the plot twist is that the video with “Michael Jordan” didn’t have “Michael Jordan” and instead had a snail with name of “Mikel Jorden” endorsing the café.

Here’s where I question if Smg4 really know’s how to read? Like I get it, people can misread and it isn’t crime at all but man, there’s no way you didn’t catch the differences between “Michael Jordan” and “Mikel Jorden” ._.xD

Anyways, Smg3 was about to hand 4’s ass to him, after realizing he went through all that trouble for nothing and Smg4 wasn’t going to do anything about it since he would’ve probably done the same thing in 3’s place.

Though, someone enters the place, to which 3 & 4 turn around to see who entered the establishment and realized it was no other than Mikel Jorden and a bunch of more snails entering the place, causing the place to temporarily close down due to snail infestation.

AND THAT’S IT!!!!

My final thoughts of this episode:

Without a doubt one of my favorites. James really did a great job with the voice acting in this episode.

He’s done a great job with Smg3 over the course of the series but this episode he really sent it with the emotion 👍

The jokes landed nicely, making me laugh more than once of course.

And finally, the plot was really good. I like that we get to dive into Smg3’s character and see what’s going on with him a little more. I wonder what other things the next episodes will have in store to discover ;)

With that said, that’s it from me.

Thanks for reading this attempt of a review I did and sorry for taking long to finish this part but I kind of procrastinated this and not to mention I had other stuff going on. If ya’ll find grammar errors, misspellings, or some misplaced arguments or thoughts, that’s because I’m no good writer nor reviewer.

Though, I wanted to give it a try since I’ve been a fan of reading and watching this kind of stuff and I’ve seen a lot of people sharing their opinions and povs about Smg4 episodes, which gave me the courage to give this a try.

Will I do this again? Idk, maybe if I get the courage to try this again but let’s see what happens ;)

My favorite SMG34 Headcanons are...

SMG4 is very much the oblivious sun pair with three as the tsundere pining moon.

Three does better cooking than smg4 but he teaches for some ways so that he wouldn't always have to rely the cooking for him.

SMG4 shows three some funny memes to where sometimes he may or may not understand the humors of it but still smiles. (He appreciates it)

SMG4 is the big spoon and three is the small spoon

SMG4 is a slight inch taller than SMG3

When three skips a shower a day, Four would overreact and will demand Three to take a bath.

When one of them feels sad, they cuddle up each other and talk out some stuff (comfort leading to laughter)

SMG4 would brush Three's long hair because he loves how wavy it is

Despite Three annoyed with Four's teasing from his hair, he allows him to pat his head.

They both dont like public affection so they do it on their own time in private.

Three does find fashion interesting and organizing stuff properly while Four finds memes funny and has some- sense of humor

SMG4 would tease three and he would fluster up from his words.

There are some times four would flirt as always, there are some other times that Three flirts back making Four blush.

Three lets four do his long hair (either braid, ponytail, half ponytail, or pigtails)

Three is the first to come out as pansexual before SMG4 did.

SMG4 is rarely aware if three really is pansexual

SMG3 figured four was bisexual after 2020

SMG3 has black nails while SMG4 only has plain ones

SMG4 does feel a bit heart touched when he get some times where Three treats Eggdog as his son.

They both listen to mitski or cavetown sometimes

Three likes opera meanwhile Four just likes memes

SMG4 would sometimes stare at Three's lips while he sleeps, SMG3 would always stare at four's eyes

Red resembles love and compassion, so four would sometimes bring Three a red rose or two in special occassions.

They both sometimes forget their anniversary but they still make it up for each other.

In a movie theatre when watching. SMG3 and SMG4 would be paying attention to the screen, next by step- Four starts to gain on his senses and ends up staring at Three for a couple or a few minutes. (He loves how three would express his own emotion because he rarely does it.)

SMG4 likes to blow bubbles while Three sometimes uses cigarettes

Coping mechanisms. Four edits his videos, Three would stream and play games on his twitch chat.

Four would sometimes watch Three's twitch stream while he plays and leaves anonymous replies (a joke or something else to vibe with three making him have fun for a bit)

In some other times when three is near four, he could smell that his hair stinks and may had said that out loud to him to the point he went outrageous and left.

Since four doesn't know how to deal with emotions, he searches stuff from google about hair products that would go alright with three. (He thinks as a good helping hand friend- you get to also care with hygiene)

SMG4 felt really bad for three judging with his low self doubt on himself

But now four finally understands, he wants to change.

SMG4 has Autism (for misunderstanging people's emotions)

SMG3 has Adhd (getting a little bit distracted)

SMG4 stays by his side so that they both don't get separated.

SMG3 keeps four safe by putting him to safety first before he takes care of himself

SMG4 may not have did much for three but he still loves to annoy him with kindness and goofyness

SMG3 is the one to carry four in bridal style (even tho it was supposed to be four)

SMG4 does his daily routine where when he wakes up, brushes his teeth, and use shaving cream.

Tho SMG3 does the opposite. He wakes up to make his own morning coffee and take care of the cafe and his eggdog.

Day 2 of me posting my SMG4 artwork!

March 2023 - Hal Monitor (Humanized) and SMG3 on a Unicycle

I was honestly surprised on never seeing one of my favorite characters have a human design, so I did one myself and would like to imagine that he has somewhat of a cherry brunette look to him. Oh and uh for what he is wearing it's an actual monitor, or you could call it a visor. I based that off of Future!Tom from the Eddsworld movie/special). In the other artwork, it was a request from James himself on Twitter that he wanted SMG3 on a unicycle. Fans provided and someone I know has been recognized which I am proud of them for. But yeah, I made this for the funny and I mean, who else can help the purple man besides Eggdog?

June 2023 - Life is But A Dream and Gothic Hunter SMG3

So I added horror elements to the TV and I wanted to add a creepy scenario of it. I think if I recall, this was before or after the events on when the TV showed up during the Wild West special. But I forgot since it's been awhile. This piece I went all out with my shading and wanted to experiment dramatic effect. Which was nice. Now for the Gothic Demon Hunter, SMG3? This is an AU that I still have yet to make. The AU is called "The Last Moon", it's about a hunter that hunts down demons but in space. So practically, the Meme Guardians that take place in here are not Meme Guardians, but they do have an interesting past. I won't reveal much but more shall come once the story releases. (If I ever have the motivation...)

May 2023 - SMG4's Birthday x Slime Rancher 2 Crossover

Final piece of the day is something that I planned months for and worked about 2-3 weeks in advance. This was an art piece that I've made special for Luke. It was a painting as well as appreciation and gratitude for all the things that he has done during my childhood. He brought me laughs, joy, and something to smile for. And even if I didn't personally know the guy, his content as well as his team meant a lot to me. I was there during his first video and seeing how much his channel grew, left a soft spot in my heart. It taught me so many things. He also inspired me to keep going as a fellow artist and fan and that is something that I will truly cherish. I have so much to thank him for. It may have been unfortunate that he wasn't able to see my artwork on Twitter, but it didn't bother me in the end. I know that he can be a busy guy and there are other amazing people out there doing the same for him and the team. Personally, what really matters is that I least made many fans smile with what I create and that itself is good enough for me. ❤️

MISSION 8, 9 and 10: Eggdog vs Beeg SMG4, Buy! and NOTHING vs Not sure, let's look it up!

NOTE: Sorry for a delay post, timezone happen, needed some sleep, but anyway, since I skipped two, I am now going to make this as one HUGE post!! So seat tight everyone!!

MISSION 8: Eggdog vs Beeg SMG4

We may already know the winner, but Imma still analyze it anyway

Eggdog

Ah yes, our precious little Eggdog, while he may not be good as a weapon, he is good as like a distraction for the guards! afterall, he did save his dad and SMG4 into the gang's snitch punishment, with Beeg4's help.

Beeg SMG4

Our little menace child...pet? Anyway, Beeg4 is a good asset as a weapon as he is more aggressive than Eggdog. Not much to say other than he can turn into A MOON.

Final Verdict

While Eggdog did won, if the vote is still on going, I think both of them are good in their own way, with Eggdog as a great distraction, while Beeg SMG4 is a great asset.

uhh... there is nothing to say here, so all I can say is... WHY YOU WASTE SMG3'S MONEY?! /nm /lh Anyway, moving along...

MISSION 10: NOTHING vs Not sure, let's look it up!

While it may sound good idea to say nothing, remember that it also may not also a good idea to not say anything about it, Afterall, this is a Trivia Show, meaning we have to sadly answer the questions, or worst-case scenario could happen.

As a person who knows what happen in Snowtrapped... yea... it has to be said, but think about it, what if they play "that" scene in front of Shroomy's audience? I think that not only it will be a great escape to those two and continue their heist, but it also distract the audience as a whole. So... yea

Final Verdict

It has to be done, it needed to be done... Let the public in SMG4's universe KNOW what happen in the igloo lol
