Datum Lines: as I remember it from architectural school, these were reference lines and organizing principles of structure and flow of space I’ve been staring at these acupuncture meridians for quite some time now and couldn’t quite see this exactly without this exploration. But I knew something was in there! I first put the classic #spiralline of #fascia on the model (very light blue and orange similar to #anatomytrains) as the first organizing principle. I then took all of the diagonals from the Taoist #meridians, and used their angular orientation. Their creation? Double helix lines! #dna … maybe, a spiraling coil? Definitely looks very similar to the spiral line, but it’s only one side, so two is a coil? 🤷 Well who cares anyway??? Right? @movingmuscle you might like this one Actually, if we begin to pay attention to which lines participate more in this wrapping of #myofascia and which are less participatory, I think we get a read on importance of contractile field aka #myofascialmeridians aka #fasciallines that are involved in this mythical coiling / rotational process 😆 I’ll break that all down in some extrapolated literature in the PDF. Ok there's no sunflowers out, this photo is from last year but wowzers the weather is nice! I've just been out in the garden trying to restrain myself from planting everything because it feels like summer already! I did my best! And physically it did me the world of good! A really lovely and important #foot story, from my friend, Ivana. For general #health in all of us, our #feet are so essential, the base and beginning as well as the reflection of the rest of our body... thank you for sharing 🙏🏼🌱 #Repost @ivana_demmel with @repostapp ・・・ April is the foot health awareness month, so I thought I'd tell you the story of my feet. 9 years ago I worked in a law office, sat most of the day drafting contracts and went for intense workout afterwards. One day, without a warning the big toe on my left foot started to feel numb. After a week or two I couldn't feel the toe anymore. And it stayed like that for years. No treatment or exercise could make any difference. It is a part of a slow degeneration that can't be reversed - the doctor who did MRI explained shrugging his shoulders with that usual ''it's-all-genetic'' disclaimer on his face. However, I happened to make some good decisions in the meantime that made a big difference. Leaving the career in law I chose to dedicate all my time to my passion for movement. Through yoga and somatics I refined awareness of the body and learnt how to listen to its subtle cues. I started to really use the feet and gradually moved into barefoot shoes, improving mobility of my feet and strengthening the foot musculature. Discovering and studying with @nutritiousmovement I learnt how to align the feet, as part of working on the whole body alignment. My husband and me gradually ditched most of our furniture, started sitting on the floor and generally, sitting less walking more. And this all has made a tremendous difference. Today, I have 10 happy and very alive toes that spread, lift and sometimes fetch toys that my baby daughter drops. No trace of numbness.
