silly idea! So the vikings had a varied view of death with a multitude of locations for souls to end up.

What if Hiccup, especially when he was younger, assumed that his soul would not end up with the rest of his tribe.

Valhalla is for warriors, especially those that died in battle. a few might be chosen by freyja to go to Fólkvangr

and hiccup assumes he will end up in Helheim, which isn't terrible but it is separate from his family and tribe forever. or maybe he worried about being sent to Niflheim some times given how negatively his tribe speaks of him all the time before toothless

I can't stop thinking about dragons. I want to learn about every dragon ever. I want to learn about dragons from every myth and every culture. When I was little I thought FULLY that dragons were real because I read this Dragonology book and it had me CONVINCED. I wanted to BE a dragon. That book has vanished but I need to read it so bad. I need to find a good source to learn about dragons so bad. I need to find things to read about dragons. Both in the, like, fictional sense of things and a book about actual dragon mythology. This is rotting my brain. When I was little I read Eragon so much that the book has fallen apart in every sense of the word. I read Fablehaven over and over again. I read Seraphina because my best friend gifted it to me. I may reread it IDK. I read everything I could get my hands on. I. Love. Dragons.

vance has razed arasaka, tore a path through their ranks, and just barely survived getting past adam smasher. his blood mixes with the blood of his creators--he's inches from the mikoshi access point.

they're at the end, now. the cusp of their shared world--the empty nook of cyberspace where vance learns that he was right; that there is no saving either of them. no matter what he chooses here, one of them will disappear forever, leaving the other to an even emptier life.

and as the first few notes of nocturne op55 trickle into the narrative--hanako's motif as well as her warning--the playlist ends not so much on a sad note, but an ambiguous one.

this song has always reminded me of a spacewalk. i don't know why exactly--maybe it's because i had heard you go into space during the arasaka/devil ending.

maybe it's because it's a piece of music that represents what questions hanging in the air sound like, the questions with answers that no one wants to hear.

silvervance does have a happy ending in my mind--but i ended the playlist with nocturne because it's up to vance, now, to carve that happy ending out of his own life.

what is your favorite fic and why??

Wow. So you sent my brain into a spiral…it’s always so hard to pick a fav! One bc I have shit memory and can never remember names of fics. When I think of one, three more pop into my mind. A lot of what comes to mind are fics that were my first for a specific genre or plot too. I never thought I would be reading so many different genres to be honest. Some of these I got to help with the creation process so I got to watch how the writers thoughts unfolded, so that also plays a part into why it's one of my top picks! There are so many brilliant writers! Shout out to all of you❣️

Some that come to mind right away: Pandora, The Tutor, Silk Sheets- these were the first fics I ever read and began my exploration of a whole new world.

Boy Blue. Shewieee, a too well planned yandere and detailed murder mystery psycho thriller. @nabiolive keeps me well fed with quite a bit of fics and firsts 🤭

Dwindling Healings. My first hybrid story and Jimin was written so cutely! @btsstan has so many fluffy and angsty fics that I love

Whims & Inconsistencies. My first Victorian fic and very well written and planned out, the emotions were deeply felt, & it was suspenseful! @hisunshiine

The boy with galaxies in his eyes- part of a 7 part series with all the guys but this one was beautiful! 'watching' a semi toxic ship work through tough problems and figure out how to communicate (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ @oddinary4bts
