Not they tryna reenact KOSA… anyway yall, here’s why KOSA is bad!!
If you don’t already know, KOSA, or Kids Online Safety Act is a bill that was proposed to keep children safe on the internet. You might ask ‘why is this bill bad if it’s in favor of supporting the safety of children online’? Well, according to stopkosa.com, it puts pressure on platforms to add even MORE filters on anything they think is inappropriate for children. This is especially harmful for LBGTQIA+ youth because the knowledge about this topic would be censored, as well as knowledge on suicide prevention and LGBTQIA+ support groups. Do you see how this an issue? For those children who are wanting to learn more about these topics they’d be turned away because of this bill. It would also be likely that it’ll allow the shutdown of websites that allow them to learn about race, sexuality and gender.
This bill would also add more internet surveillance for all users across all social media platforms. It would expand the use of age verification and parental monitoring controls. These things in itself are already very invasive, but doesn’t take into consideration the children who live in unsafe environments where they are domestically abused and/or are trying to escape these situations. To add my two cents onto this, I strongly believe that the KOSA bill is an unnecessary violation of our first amendment rights (if you’re American), and doesn’t really make the internet any more safer. It actually makes it more unusable for youth. Hypothetically, if this bill were to be passed, then this would make social media unusable for literally anybody. To censor content from the youth about wanting to learn about their identity is extremely harmful. Blocking them from accessing resources that may prove as helpful in their scenarios is outlandish and unneeded. We try to shelter our youth so much to the point where we try to boil them down to only being with their parents want them to be and also not being able to let them learn and explore about other things that they may want to identify themselves with. This is very harmful.
This is a list of companies who are saying no to KOSA ..

There is something you can do to stop the KOSA bill from being passed! On the website I linked, there is a petition. All you have to do is fill out the information and it’ll send off an email for you. The email reads as follows:
I’m writing to urge you to reject the Kids Online Safety Act, a misguided bill that would put vulnerable young people at risk. KOSA would fail to address the root issues related to kid’s safety online. Instead, it would endanger some of the most vulnerable people in our society while undermining human rights and children’s privacy. The bill would result in widespread internet censorship by pressuring platforms to use incredibly broad “content filters” and giving state Attorneys General the power to decide what content kids should and shouldn’t have access to online. This power could be abused in a number of ways and be politicized to censor information and resources. KOSA would also likely lead to the greater surveillance of children online by requiring platforms to gather data to verify user identity. There is a way to protect kids and all people online from egregious data abuse and harmful content targeting: passing a strong Federal data privacy law that prevents tech companies from collecting so much sensitive data about all of us in the first place, and gives individuals the ability to sue companies that misuse their data. KOSA, although well-meaning, must not move forward. Please protect privacy and stop the spread of censorship online by opposing KOSA.
The website also gives you like a format of what you can say if you chose to call your representatives. If after reading this post, you feel inclined to do something then I would say just go ahead and do it. My first time learning about KOSA was today immediately after seeing the post I felt inclined to send my lawmakers an email. Please try to help when you can and this will only take a few minutes so I think this is something that you can consider. This post is getting a little long now, so I’ll stop here. There are more resources online if you would like to learn more about the cons of this KOSA bill, thank you for reading.

Just watched Across the Spiderverse! That was amazing! Now I can stop avoiding spoilers like the plague!
Definitely gonna want to watch that again soon. There was a lot to take in, and a combination of a late show and a poor sleep schedule left me less than 100% awake, sadly. Not that I mind an excuse to see it nore than once! Gonna love that when I wake up.
Loved the combination of all the animation styles for the different universes.
Since I've had to dodge spoilers left and right, let me put more of my tired thoughts below the cut, for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. They're probably not gonna be in chronological order, but whatever.
- Renaissance Vulture had such a cool animation style. Loved him. Want to see more of the DaVinci notes style animation. That's awesome.
- The Spot is just... *chef's kiss.* He's the perfect blend of goofy joke villain and genuinely terrifying. And he looks like he's a living scetch covered in ink blots, which was such a cool design.
- "Being Spider-Man is easy!" The confidence of this man is unreal. Pavitr is in for a rough time and he has no idea. He does not seem to realize how badly the universe wants to kick him in the nuts because of his new job. Once it stops collapsing like a whiney 3 year old because it didn't get to murder a cop. That's still a thing that never got fully resolved. Hope that works out at some point.
- Peter B. is such a proud dad. Mayday is adorable. Him showing baby pics to everyone with a pair of eyes and trying to get Miles to hold his little bundle of joy was the most wholesome thing. Probably shouldn't be taking your baby to somewhere like that, but she seemed happy. And adorable.
- If all these Spider-Men are just... hanging out in the Spider Society, are they just leaving their universe without its Spider-Man? How is that not causing problems? How often do they have to go home? Gwen says she's been gone for months... and clearly didn't want to go back.
- Spider-Punk was... a lot. Loved him, but honestly had a hard time keeping track of everything during his introduction. There was just a lot going on on there, so my overtired brain had trouble taking it all in. One of the reasons I want to see it again. His whole visual effect was super cool, but... again, want to take it all in when I'm more awake. Think I read somewhere that he overthrew the government? Anyways, loved his vibe, but his colage-like effects did a number on my brain. Hobie seems cool.
- Miguel seems a little... not okay. He looked like he was gonna just straight-up EAT the Vulture instead of sending him home. And he keeps blaming Miles for starting everything, as if he CHOSE to get biten by that spider. Love him, even if he's seemingly starting to lose it.
I just found out there was a post credits scene with him in the first movie when I was trying to double check everyone's names. How did I not know this? He seemed a lot more well-ajusted there. Or at least less crazy. Taking that much weight onto his shoulders must have done quite the number on him.
- Canon Events leave me with so many questions. Since her dad is still alive, Gwen clearly hasn't had the whole "police capitan dies saving a child" event yet, and if he's gonna quit... does that mean that event won't happen? Is that enough to keep him safe? Is she gonna get close to the new captain and have them die? Is her dad still gonna die? Did she just accidentally skip that Canon Event, dooming her entire universe? Or is it not that big a deal?
- How much of the damage we saw was done by Miles saving the captain and not by the Spot? It looked more like the Spot's portals than it did glitchy multiverse rules. Or did Miles just amplify what was already there? If the Spot WASN'T messing everything up, would the damage have been nearly as bad?
- Wait, if the Spot was an anomaly, then how was that a Canon Event? Was something else supposed to happen? Or does the universe just take whatever excuse it can get to force these things to happen and throw a hissy fit if something stops it from happening?
- If Earth 42 doesn't have a Spider-Man, it can't have Canon Events. How is it still in one piece? Is having a Spider-Man created by a spider from that universe enough to keep it together? Or did Miles' dad dying happen as a Canon Event dispite the lack of a Spider-Man to screw with?
- If there wasn't supposed to be two Spider-Men in his universe, and the original Peter died, why does Miles still get forced into Canon Events? I feel like most of the questions I'm asking are either answered with a simple "because that's how the plot works", or it's gonna be super relivent in the next movie. I like overthinking stuff, it helps me sleep!
- Speaking of overthinking stuff to help me sleep, I'm gonna go do that. I'll probably update this with more thoughts in the morning, but its already a miracle I'm still awake.

Tw: mass shooting mention, homophobia mention, violence mention
On June 12, 2016, a man opened fire at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. He killed 49 people and injured 53 more before he was killed by police. I will not include his name in this post, as his memory is not what I wish to honor. I wish to pay respects to the victims of that violent night, and I will be listing their names as a way for anyone who reads this post to remember them. None of them deserved the violence and inhumanity that they experienced.

I am writing this post as a way to honor the victims of that night, and because I wish to remember them. I want to remember that these people lived and breathed within my lifetime. I was 12 years old when the shooting happened, and I remember sitting on the couch and watching the news. I wanted to cry out of grief and fear. But all I could do was sit in silence because my family did not know I was queer and would not have understood if I tried to explain why I was grieving for those people that died. I knew from a very young age that there are people in this world that hate people like me. I knew that I would experience hate. And I knew that violence against people like me happened, but that day was the first day I was scared to be myself, and it was the first day I was scared for everyone like me.
I am older now, and I know that violence and hatred have not gone away, and I don't know if they ever will. I would be lying if I said I don't still feel afraid sometimes, but I know that I am stronger now as a person, and I know that the LGBTQIA+ community is stronger too.
I will list some links to LGBT+ charities and organizations below if anyone would like to donate to honor the memory of those we have lost.
Happy Pride everyone.

FMP- Research - collages

3d colllage created
why a 3d collage
what would be successful
what would be unsuccessful
the purpose of this
Tumblr media
My research showed that adobe could be used to create these kinds of art works and people are selling them for large amounts, its a contraverial topic, since have they really done anything to desereve it when other people have to scrape by while doing all the work themselves,. Could it be used as a tool etc, So i compared my physical collage with some images generated into a collage AI generator and found that they often want you to pay to recieve the colage, but also, it analyses your photos, so then its a matter of ownership as well which adds complication, i had concidered doing some art to see if people coould tell the differentce/ which one is AI and which one is by an artist and have an exhibition surrounding this but felt this wasnt in my ballpark and this wasnt what I wanted to do.
It is an interesting concept and idea with a clear path, but what can i say at the end? like it doesnt make any changes or particilalry bring awareness since people are already aware or dont care in the first place, so the challenege would be making people care.
i found the collage makers meant it wasnt unique and often picked random images

Research into Modernity Concept/Issue
Derive and Psychogeography
I chose to write on the concept of ‘Derive’ and ‘Psychogeography.’ Derive is the French word for ‘drift,’ meaning to make an “unplanned journey through a landscape.” (McDonough, 2004) This is usually done in an urban setting. Participants of the derive usually don’t focus on the direction in which they’re going or their destination. They “stop focusing on their everyday relations to their social environment.” Derive is linked with “psychogeography,’ which involves the observation of a city’s terrain and how geographical location can affect ‘the emotion and behaviour of individuals.” (Tate, n.d.) It is described as “the intersection of psychology and geography” and how “psychological experiences of the city illuminates forgotten aspects of the human environment.” (Lyons, 2017)
The Derive was an idea developed by the Letterist International, a group of radical artists that were prominent in the 1950s. Guy Debord was the member who publicly introduced the concept in his book ‘Theory of the Derive’ which was written in 1956. Writer and psychogeogrpaher Wilfried Hou Je Bek wrote “psychogeography is the fact that you have an opinion about a space the moment you step into it.” (O’Rourke, 2021) Psychogeographers “advocate the art of becoming lost in the city” which is done through the derive.
This concept is linked to Modernity because in derives, people can observe changes in cities as they are always changing. New buildings are being built or gentrified. In relation to the derive and its link with modernity, there is the relevant term called The ‘Flaneur.’ This is another French word for ‘stroller’ or ‘wanderer’. ‘Flaneur’ is represented as a man and is an “ambivalent figure of urban affluence and modernity.” This depicts the ability to wander around detached from society, the only purpose is to be an “acute observer of industrialised, contemporary life.” According to Bijan Stephen in his 2013 Paris Review article, Bijan Stephen had stated that the use of the Flaneur “is a vehicle for the examination of the conditions of modernity.” (Stephen, 2013)
This concept interests me because I also like to observe my surroundings when I’m outdoors. I always connect to my senses and let myself feel when I’m walking through the city, especially in the evenings where the ambience feels stronger. For my project, I’m personally going on derives in places in the city I find myself in and recording it in videos and photography.
An example of this topic in visual culture is Dustin Yellin's series called 'Psychogeographies.' This series is a collection of "fantastical colages encased within layers of glass." (Mitchell, 2015) They are presented uniquely in life-size humanoid figures. They are pieced together with drawings, paintings and magazine clippings that are stacked between glass planes. Psychogeography is described to be a "toy-box full of inventive stategies for exploring cities." (Waldman, 2014) For Yellin, his toy box is "full of everything he finds on the street - flowers, leaves, bugs, and even dead rats," which he also uses for his thee-dimensional collages sealed in resin.

I've been really vibeing with the new girl at work, she's eazy to talk to, simaler senses of herumer, she's also bi, and she's cute, I'd definitely hang out with her outside of work
Her: I hate the homework for my AP classes, my weekends should be serpent getting blackout drunk, not doing fucking esays
Me: that why I decided not to go back to school lol to much work, what colage do you atend?
Her: the local highschool
😬
me, living in a country where school ends at 16, just waking up, seeing this and having my brain short-circuit because under 16s can't work, and slowly remembering different countries exist: :)
like if she's legal and has a goddam job, it's fine to see where the friendship goes and keep that a possibility, and if she's not then probably don't try anything because that'd be bad for both of ya
more rambles under the cut
okay i typed up this whole thing about a manipulative ex, who's reactionary tendency on this issue became an avenue for them, whenever they wanted to make someone feel like a monster for refusing to do what said ex wanted, while maintaining pretense about being the actual people-pleasing victim uwu. and how the people who act the most malicious about this, like them, are the ones who, like them, take home someone, decide the person is actually too young- and to dodge feeling guilty, mindfuck them thoroughly until they're sobbing on my shoulder convinced they must be some kind of creep for flirting with somebody a couple years older than them. they will yell at their current partner that they're abusing them, whenever they so much as blink. partner always calls themself just the worst stuff, in front of everybody, because they think it's like Widely Known Fact at this point. and said ex talks behind everyone's back, they falsely accuse people (for eg of cheating), etc. and on top of all that, they get mad that people don't bend over backwards whenever they say "i have an anxiety disorder", but they lectured me to "do better" because of schizophrenia making my speech patterns messy, something it physically is impossible for me to change. sorry - i couldn't even summarise it quickly. the point is that they manipulate people in their life into feeling like monsters, then they make you feel like everybody else thinks worse of you, so you should feel thankful, because they don't make things Worse For You, y'know? and the reason i bring this up is because i'm honestly tired of people like them. you see it online all the time. some celeb got catfished by somebody pretending to be 18 and the discourse turns into how actually it's still abuse, because you'd "just know" because "kids actually type different" (something i literally saw people say, i'm genuinely not fucking joking there). so whenever somebody has reactions like that emoji to like... feelings. or liking an adult. or all those sorts of things. i'm like please don't go down the road that people want you to go down where you hate yourself so much it becomes easy for them to control you and hurt you, where that bullshit means they can humiliate a young adult they convincd themself was Too Young, then make that young adult feel like an abuser for not psychically predicting the flip-flop in advance. it's somewhat illogical as a reaction, because ik you're probably not surrounded by cunts like that, but like, even that emoji triggers protective papa bear instincts in me to call you babygirl and say you're doing fucking fabulous and i love you and i'll kill for you.
