Do you plan on making a part 2 of the last man on earth? 🫣 I would love to see what their relationship grows into as they continue their reign
I definetely picture them having a couple babies, then doing as monarchs often do... Doing nothing, and thinking they saved Westeros.
(Not so) Hot take: The Song of Ice and Fire is only an excuse to keep the Iron Throne.
Unfortunately, I suck at writing series. I do not have the comitment and they do not hold my attention long. I tried with Death in four moves, and honestly, part two sucked. I can try and write snippets that happen in the same universe, as I'm doing with modern Daemon, but Last man on earth is a monstrosity in terms of word count already.

See, the one Sadboy Loki stan-meta point I will generally agree on is that the desperate need for a throne is about wanting the acceptance and acclaim (ie The Poor Sad Woobie Just Wants To Be Loved) so yeah fair enough on the redemption arc being But What If Friends?? and What If Me But Hot Hot Selfcest Gaining Self-Respect?
I suppose the proof of that is that while pretending to be Odin and literally being the king of Asgard he... did fuck all, really? Wrote a play about himself, lounged around a bit. That's not someone who wants the power bit of being the ruler of everything and while I may disagree on the exact depths of his emo despair and whether it's a moral get-out-of-jail-free card I do agree that yeah the thing that makes ruling everyone attractive to Loki is that those everyones (erm...) will then pay attention to you and tell you how great you are.
That probably *is* the Younger Son thing at work, innit? "Well, if your brother were to die in a "hunting accident" of some freak accident or plague (btw he is basically immortal so this is v unlikely) then we'd need you after all, so we'll keep you around and make sure you're exactly the sort of arrogant twat we need for that job and probably stop you getting too interested in doing something else with your life *but* as mentioned you're basically the insurance policy that we're unlikely to ever actually need so... maybe you could take up knitting? Bee-keeping?" (This is, again, why monarchies and primogeniture are fucking *terrible* ideas that lead to societies overflowing with young men itching to become Crusaders and Conquistadors but I'm sure nobody needs me to go on about that shit again though I just thought of a thing I should add to that fic)
#my third favourite loki#i'm not saying “kill Thor” is the answer to many/most of his problems but...#actually is *this* why some Loki stans hate Thor so much? they've identified the problem but it never gets solved for their fave?#i mean obvs the *real* problem is the system but failing the ability or perhaps will to change that then yeah he could just murder Thor#as i throwaway-line'd once in a fic Sylvie would have the related but different problem of Being A Girl#nobody bothered to put the *princesses* in the tower did they?#(think R3 was actually planning to marry the oldest girl? which bold move when you've blatantly murdered her brothers but whatevz)#(maybe she didn't like them anyway!)#(also that actually *is* incest isn't it? daaaamn Richard going for the full set of Things People Don't Like weren't you?)#(someone reading this like “why the fuck is she talking about Richard III on this post about Loki???”)#(well hello there welcome to the fun world of me! it's all downhill from here!)#(don't forget to Like Comment and Subscribe!)#(i may hate monarchies but their dramas are fuckin A+ Reality Shows But With Murder And Incest And So On quality content)#me stuffing popcorn into my mouth: “can't wait for the new season to resolve that Bosworth cliffhanger. my problematic fave MUST win!”#“he murdered his nephews surely he can take out that half-arsed attempt at a Lancaster heir?? it's that or a line of Welsh gingers???”#(i have nothing against welsh gingers honestly cross my cold black twisted heart)#loki series

I'm not even on TikTok but sometimes a tiktok will breach containment and I'll see it and it features people doing blatantly illegal shit not even as an act of protest but as a haha funny video and I'm. Please. If you're going to post about shoplifting or fare evading or vandalism or whatever on social media please at least do it on an anonymous Tumblr blog with an anime icon that'd require actual effort to trace back to your real self. Don't attach your real fucking face to it good lord. The cops aren't an abstract idea they're a real threat.

Hey Tumblr, there's a new historical/period comedy series on Netflix which you will love! It's called 1670! It's about Polish nobility and their peasant-thralls. However, Netflix is not promoting it to international audiences, bc it's Polish, even though there are subtitles available in so many languages!
It has:
Great Humour
Amazing Polish Folk Music
Historical Costumes that are not Western!
CANON LESBIANS
One of the said lesbians is a repressed lesbian w religious trauma & the subplot lasts longer than one episode
Priest Jakub
A really good combination of making historical and ahistorical jokes
And much more!
Seriously, give it a watch bc I'd hate to see only my Polish mutuals watch it, it's new, it's fresh, it's witty, not another remake, and it shows another culture & history! (aren't you tired of watching yet another show on the English monarchy, then 1670 is there for ya)

I understand how important it is to be able to criticize the President, and am not at all of the belief he should be beyond critique, but the critiquing of Biden makes me so nervous. (That's not to say I agree with every decision he's made - I absolutely do not). But I feel like people see things he's done wrong and decide they won't vote for him because of it. I'm not sure if enough people have the ability to see that he's done things wrong but also is our only hope of staving off literal fascism.
So many people talk about how sick they are of it constantly being a lesser of two evils situation, constantly having to vote for a candidate they hate because the other side is worse (I heard it in 2020, 2022, etc), and I guess I just- I don't really get it? We're here because they didn't do that in 2016. All of this could've been avoided had the result been different then. I just feel like people don't comprehend how different of a place we'd be in if Hillary won and engage in all this cognitive dissonance to make themselves feel better about being part of the reason she didn't.
Like.... this has been a long-running topic of discussion on my blog, not least because it is so inexplicable and maddening. It also shows how terribly shallow most people's understanding of the American political process is, and how toxic the "I can only vote for a candidate if every single personal belief/position of theirs matches mine" belief is, as well as how much damage it has done to American democracy even (and indeed, especially) by people who technically don't identify as right-wing. Yell at Republicans all you like (God knows I do, because they're the worst people on earth) but they vote. Every time. Every election. Every candidate. Whereas the Democratic electorate still holds out for Mister Perfect, and it very definitely is Mister Perfect. The amount of "evil HRC!!!" Republican-poisoned Kool-Aid that so-called progressives drank in 2016, and then afterward when they insisted they could have voted for someone like Elizabeth Warren and then didn't do that in 2020, is... baffing.
Frankly, I don't care if Hillary Clinton's personal positions on XYZ issue were the most Neoliberal Corporate Centrist Shill to Ever Shill (and Online Leftists' intellectual skills being what they are, I seriously doubt that they were using any of those words correctly and/or accurately). American policy is not made by "personal dictate of the ruler," or at least it shouldn't be, because we are not an absolute monarchy. We rely on the operation of a system with input from many people. As such, if Hillary had been elected, we would have 2-3 new liberal justices on SCOTUS and have secured civil and environmental rights for the next generation. Roe would be intact, and all the other terrible rulings that SCOTUS has recently handed down wouldn't have happened. We wouldn't have had January 6th, the attempt to stage a coup, all the tawdry scandals, our national security being at risk because of Trump stealing classified documents and probably selling them to Russia and/or Saudi Arabia, etc etc. If you think that's in any way an equivalent amount of evil to what would have happened if Hillary was elected, or if she was "still evil!!!," then I honestly don't know what to tell you. She could fucking murder puppies in her spare time if she had preserved SCOTUS for us, WHICH SHE WOULD HAVE, BECAUSE SHE WARNED US EXACTLY WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.
(Hoo. Sorry. Still steamed. 2016 war flashbacks, again.)
In short, Hillary would have been a solid continuity Democrat and she would have signed whatever legislation a Democratic House and Senate passed, not to mention been hugely inspiring as the first female president. But because it's so important to the Online Leftists' moral sense of themselves that BOTH PARTIES ARE THE SAME!!!, they can't possibly acknowledge that ever being a factor, and/or admit that they have any culpability in not voting for her in 2016. It's like when you read the British press about any of the UK's equally numerous problems, and they BEND OVER BACKWARD to avoid mentioning that Brexit might be a factor. They just can't mention it, because then that means they might have made the wrong choice in pulling for it as hard as they did, and blah blah Sovereignty.
Basically, if HRC had been elected president, everything would be so much less terrible and terrifying all the time, we would be talking about her successor in 2024 as someone else who could be the "first," we could explore handing the reins over to Kamala as a Black/Asian woman, we could promote Buttigieg as the first gay president, etc etc. But because 2016 was so catastrophically fucked up, we are in damage control mode for the immediate future and every election is just as pivotal. And yet, because people think that the only thing that matters is a presidential candidate's personal views, we're stuck having the same old arguments and desperately begging people over and over to please vote against fascism, since that somehow isn't self-evident enough on its own. Yikes on Bikes.

a rumored bastard and a proven, disinherited, legally illegitimate recognized bastard are not the same.
Rhaenyra’s sons are rumored bastards, i know the show has a lot of team green stans feeling bold but just as in the books, they are never legally considered bastards in the show either. they are speculated to be via their physical features and Laenor’s apparent sexuality, but since Laenor and the KING (btw Westeros is a absolute monarchy, meaning the king IS law) both claim all three boys as legitimate heirs, unless someone demands a medieval dna test, those kids are legally Laenor’s true sons.
this is apparently a very hard concept to understand for some, hell even Alicent in the show says something like “we can all tell” which fair point, but that is not proof enough. looks, accusations, and rumor are not the same as actual proof of adultery or bastardy.
someone i was having a “discussion” with used Joffrey as an example to point out a flaw in my logic, but ultimately proved my point. Joffrey was a rumored bastard. Ned himself had no more proof than Alicent does, just hair color and a hunch, so Joffrey was never legally disinherited from the line of succession. I hate to defend either of these men but King Robert never publicly disowned him and called him bastard, which is why Joffrey ascended to the Iron Throne. now the rumors did hurt, and caused huge political issues leading to the War of 5 Kings, which is exactly why Alicent and Team Green is so insistent that Rhaenyra’s children are illegitimate, they know they cannot legally or physically prove her children are bastards, especially when Laenor and the King are claiming them are true born, but they can spread the rumor and call into question Rhaenyra’s honesty and morality. think episode 8 when team green takes their chance with Vaemond to attempt a coup of sorts for the Driftmark Throne, why would the succession of Driftmark need to be settled if Rhaenyra’s sons are true born? why would Alicent / Otto need to make this decision in place of the sick king and mia lord of tides who both had already been stating Luke would inherit for years. it’s all apart of the scheme to tarnish Rhaenyra’s reputation as Vaemond has no other proof either, and promptly loses his head (both metaphorically and literally) by calling the recognized heir to the throne a whore and her children bastards with no proof in front of the whole court.
it is a political scheme on both sides, Alicent cannot prove anything, and Rhaenyra cannot disprove the rumors no matter how many times they are claimed as true born sons. Rhaenyra has to live in the comfort the law gives her, as legally her sons are seen as legitimate, and thus legally they are protected. and from an unbiased pov with both in universe and historical references, those kids might be bastards in actually but not legally.
Rhaenyra goes through hell to keep her children legally protected, not only for their sake but for hers because should the truth come out both her and Laenor would be seriously punished, i wouldn’t go as far as executed but that would depend on if Viserys was old and bed ridden or dead. which is why im making this incredibly long post repeating myself in every point. you can argue all day about Rhaenyra’s children and their parentage but i am making this to make it clear that her children are not *legally* bastards by Westeros law. in order for Jace, Luke, and Joffrey to be illegitimate bastards Laenor, Rhaenyra, Harwin, and/or Viserys would have to publicly acknowledge them as such and disinherit them. no, Laenor and Viserys dying do not magically make Rhaenyra’s children legal bastards either. they would, again, need to be claimed and proven as such and disinherited.
and at the end of it all, true or not true, the rumors made a lasting impact on the story. so much so this fandom is still debating this topic, and frankly i am dreading the season 2 release when all the bad takes and bad faith arguments start up again.
anyway other famous rumored bastards are in Targ history are:

Warnings: Fluff, mild angst, cliche
Pairing: Female!Reader x Anakin Skywalker
Word count: 1.6k
Summary: Anakin’s Jedi duties call him away, but being gone from you for too long sure isn’t easy.
Tumblr media
Every time he left her, without a doubt, his heart would break. Every moment away from her was like tearing his heart apart, bit by bit, piece by piece. It may sound dramatic, but Anakin truly couldn't function if they weren't in the same place.
What really bugged him what that he couldn't even show it. He couldn't show anyone that she was his. It tore him apart that their love was a secret.
The council sat in chairs around their meeting room, discussing an upcoming mission. Anakin was lost in his thoughts, fidgeting with the sleeve of his robe. He didn't realize that the council had addressed him, so he didn't budge out of his trance.
"Anakin!" Obi-Wan snapped, causing him to look around quickly. All of the council members stared at Anakin, scowls on their faces. "Did you hear anything we've been discussing?"
"No- I mean, yes! Yes, I heard everything." Anakin stuttered, blinking quickly. Everyone looked at him frustratedly, shaking their heads in utter annoyance.
"Then you're aware that you'll be going on the mission to Alderaan tomorrow." Obi-Wan stated, folding his arms across his chest and leaning back in his chair.
Anakin internally groaned. He'd been on mission after mission and had been exhausted for weeks. "Yes." He replied, sighing.
"Good. You will be addressing the monarchy about ways of protecting the royal family, since there has been threats of assassination." Obi-Wan continued, a stern look spread across his face. "But you already knew that, since you were listening."
"Of course." Anakin replied, nodding slowly.
The council was dismissed soon after, Anakin speeding out of the room quickly. It hurt him that he wasn't with Y/N, so he left as quickly as he could.
Anakin quickly tread to their quarters, wanting nothing more than to have time with her. He opened the door, slamming it shut behind him. His bad mood was obvious to anyone that knew him, so he figured having time with just the two of them would help him calm down.
Anakin walked to their bedroom, standing in the doorway just to see Y/N folding his laundry for him. He hated when she did that. Not that he didn't appreciate it, but he didn't want her to do his chores for him.
Y/N didn't sense him, so she continued folding laundry. Soft music played in the background, causing her to quietly hum and bob her head. She turned to go place the clothes in the dresser, but was met with a smiling Anakin leaning in the doorframe.
"Ani!" She exclaimed, setting the clothes back down on the bed before running to him and jumping into his arms.
"Hello, my love." Anakin whispered, wrapping his arms around her. She buried her face in his neck, breathing in his scent.
"You're back early." She commented, pulling her head away so she could stare into his ocean blue eyes. Her smile was bright and excited.
"I couldn't stay away from you for too long." He teased, brushing a piece of hair out of her eyes. Anakin looked down sadly before sighing. "I have bad news."
"What is it?" Y/N hesitantly asked, already guessing what it might be. Her smile faltered and her eyes looked down.
"I have to leave for a mission tomorrow. I'm going to be gone to Alderaan." He spoke softly, gently caressing her cheekbone with his thumb.
Y/N frowned, looking away. She didn't reply, causing Anakin's heart to break. He knew she hated when he left. Plus, he barely got back from his last mission.
"I'm so sorry, darling." Anakin whispered. He gently tilted her head with his fingers to make her look at him. "I'll be back as soon as i can."
"Promise?" Y/N quietly replied, staring up at him. Her lips were pulled into a sad frown, causing Anakin to sadly sigh.
"Of course. I promise you, I'll be back before you know it." He promised, giving her a small smile to lighten the wound that was created. Their lips softly met, Anakin pouring all the love he had in his heart into the desperate lip lock.
*:・゚✧*:・゚
Anakin wasn't back before she knew it. In fact, it had been two months. Two whole months. Y/N could barely function without him. Her nights consisted of her arms desperately wrapped around his pillow and sleepless tosses and turns.
Her food was barely touched, causing her friends to become extremely concerned. Her job as a mechanic made her get out of the apartment, but if it weren't for that, she knew she'd be in bed all day.
Anakin was just as much of a mess as she was. He barely slept, barely ate. He knew his attachment to her was unhealthy, but he didn't care. She was his everything and he wanted nothing more than to be with her every moment of every day.
The mission on Alderaan somewhat distracted him, but it wasn't enough for him to get Y/N out of his mind. His thoughts were almost constantly on her, which caused much distraction.
The royal family was very welcoming to Anakin, Ahsoka and the few clones that tagged along, which they all greatly appreciated.
As welcoming as they were, he still counted down the days till he could get on his ship and get the hell out of there. The incessant flirting from servants and the princess caused Anakin to miss Y/N even more, if that was even possible.
When they were able to be together, Y/N would get extremely jealous very easily. He missed the way her nose would scrunch and her neck would get red in anger. He missed the way her hands would ball into fists, and he especially missed her complaining to him afterwards. Anakin loved how protective she was over their relationship.
Anakin wanted nothing more than to call Y/N on the holopad, but he knew it was too risky. Obi-Wan had access to his call logs and recordings, meaning he would see his communication with her. They couldn't afford anyone finding out.
The day Anakin was informed he could leave the next morning, he was ecstatic. Y/N had no way of knowing when he would be returning, so he was excited to surprise her.
*:・゚✧*:・゚
Anakin's arrival back to Coruscant was smooth and quick, which provided a sense of relief to him. It would only be minutes until he saw her.
He didn't bother speaking to anyone before rushing off the ship. He clasped a small bag in his hand, excited to give Y/N something to make up for his absence.
Anakin rushed to their quarters, entering quickly. As he made his way to their bedroom, a bright smile was on his features. When he arrived to their room, his heart broke at the sight.
Y/N was curled in a ball on their bed, his pillow tightly in her arms. He noticed small tear stains on it, causing him to sadly frown.
Slowly, he walked to their bed, placing the bag on their nightstand before sitting on the bed. Anakin placed his fingers on her bare arm, caressing it gently. "Y/N, I'm home." He whispered, brushing a piece of stray hair out of her eyes.
Y/N's nose scrunched before she realized it was him. Once she processed that he was home, she quickly shot up. Her eyes were still puffy from crying. Immediately, she pounced on him, dragging him down so he was now laying down as well.
She snuggled into his side, clinging onto him tightly. "Two months. Ani, you were gone two months." Y/N whispered, sniffling.
"Shh, I know, my love. I know." He whispered, pulling her closer and running his fingers through her messy hair. "I'm back now, that's all that matters."
Y/N's head sat on his chest. Hearing his heartbeat was a sweet melody, causing all of her previous sadness and anxiety to melt away. "Why were you gone so long?" She whispered.
Anakin sighed, massaging her scalp softly. "The council needed me to do a few other things on Alderaan while I was there. We also had to stop somewhere else for an emergency mission."
Y/N huffed, shutting her eyes. "I missed you so much, Ani."
"I missed you too, darling." He whispered sadly, leaning down to press a small kiss on her forehead. "I have a surprise for you." He pulled away, reaching over to the nightstand to grab the bag he had brought. "For you." Anakin smiled down at her, handing her the small bag.
Y/N slowly sat up, opening the bag. She pulled out a small necklace, grinning excitedly as her eyes landed on the charm. It was the shape of a small star, a pink sapphire in the middle of it. "It's beautiful." She whispered, admiring the piece of jewelry in her hands.
"I thought you'd like it." Anakin grinned, sitting up as well. "Can I put it on you?" He asked, gesturing to the necklace.
Y/N nodded quickly, handing him the necklace before turning around so her back was facing him. Anakin gently brushed her hair out of the way, putting the necklace around her neck. He slowly clasped it before moving her hair back. She leaned her back into him as he finished.
Anakin kissed the top of her head, then placing his chin on her shoulder. "I'm so glad i'm back with you, my love."

Please more knight ghost it’s unhealthy at how attached I am to your writing at this point like omg the way you write is perfect . Also your characterization is amazing.
I would do anything for you, thank you. Knight!Ghost always has me the most worried about characterization but also feels the closest to Canon ghost in my mind. I could probably expand on that but I'm not gonna do it here.
"I'm going to teach you how to hold a knife," Ghost tells you on your third night in the woods. He'd been quiet all day, you wonder if this is what he'd been thinking about. You try to contain your excitement. "Don't look so giddy."
"I'm not," you school your features.
"You are, I can feel it," he grumbles, tugging his knife free from the sheath on his belt.
"Bull-" you cut yourself off when he glares at you, twisting your fingers against your mouth like you could hide the intent from him. Princesses don't swear, and he's chastised you enough about stealing words from the knights that you don't need another lesson. "I'm sorry," you mumble.
"Don't apologize to me," he tells you, the only thing you think he hates more than your swearing, "princesses don't apologize-"
"-they receive apologies," you finish for him. Except it isn't just anyone you're alopogizing to, it's Ghost. The only man worthy of an apology, the only person you care about staying in the good graces of. Besides, you're only a princess. Even when you're queen there will always be someone above you, a king you'll have to get used to apologizing to.
Ghost knocks his knuckles against your head, exceedingly gentle despite the casual airs he puts on. You frown and swat at his hand. You can see his eyes squint, smiling behind his mask.
"Chin up princess," he shoves the hilt of his knife into your hands, "give us a slash, eh?"
You stare at him, swallow, and grip his knife tight. He lifts his tunic and pats his stomach, the mail and padding makes this feel much less intimidating. Not enough that you don't hesitate slashing at him. You can feel Ghost's impatience radiating off of him.
He grabs your hands and adjusts your hold, batting one of your hands away from the hilt and holding it at the wrist. "Keep this one out in case you need to grab your opponent." He instructs, you nod still trying to gain the courage to slice your closest companion. You wind your arm back and- "Eyes open."
You huff and pout at him. He raises a brow. "You wanted to learn to fight." He sounds like he's trying not to laugh. You don't appreciate it. This is harder than you thought it would be, you didn't think you'd be practicing on Ghost.
"I don't want to fight you," you tell him.
"I'm flattered," he deadpans.
"What if I hurt you?" You wince. You've already stitched him up once, you don't want to do it again.
"It would be an honor."
Your breath catches. He says it so sincerely. You know that line, it's an honor to die for the monarchy, to be injured protecting them -you- but this. You don't know what this is. You don't know or understand the look in Ghost’s eyes. Or maybe you do, maybe the ache in your chest that it conjures is responding in kind to a similar one in his. Maybe it isn't the monarchy that brings him honor, maybe it's just you.
"I don't want to learn anymore," you whisper, you can't raise your voice past that, too consumed by what it would mean to cut Ghost. It would mean he's a man, something flesh and blood that you can hurt. Not the larger than life figure he presents, not the thing only monster can touch. It would mean you could hurt him the same way anything else could.
Except he'd let you. He'd bare his flesh for you, show his stomach, strip himself of all safeguards, all teeth and claws. You could cut him and it would be an honor.
"Ok," he says, his hand wrapping around yours, his voice low and gentling, "let's stop." You nod, taking your hand from the knife quickly. He drops to one knee in front of you, tips your head with two gloved fingers under you chin, drawing your gaze to meet his. "I'm at your command, my lady." He reaffirms, reassures.
He'll never force you, never disobey your "no", always on a short leash your dog. How could you ever hurt him? How could he ever ask you to?

British insight for those military men fics
Coming from a British person
Use this for your angsty british backstory
Will include:
-insight to healthcare and low income situations
- opinions on the royal family (all negative)
- british food
- talks about home life and low income
• none of them would care for the queens death. They would not be mourning, they would not be sad, they're not tories. If anything theyd be glad and wishing death upon the rest of them. The monarchy sucks the only downside is that we have Charles and camilla now. Diana rest in peace
• to add on to this they wouldnt care for the coronation they would most likely insult it, they probably hate the entire royal family like almost all of the entire uk does. I am repeating this again but they are NOT tories 🚫nuh uh🚫 stop painting, price, gaz and ghost as people who love the royals while soap hates them 💀💀 they all hate the monarchy
• they most likely wouldnt drink fancy tea Pg, Yorkshire, tetley etc are their go to because that's what most of the uk drink especially low income houses as it's the cheapest. Taste of home I guess.
• also they're not out here eating beans on toast whenever they get the chance💀 they're probably eating an entire meal because they're giant men??? Like beans on toast is what parents give to their kids because it's cheap and fills them up, the only time they're having beans is with:
1) breakfast
2) jacket potatoes
3) sasauge and mash
4) Gregg's bean and sausage pasties
• also soap probably eats beans too?? I've seen fics where hes wholeheartedly against beans like??? Hes Scottish?? I know he ate beans as a kid, no one grows up and decides to have a mohawk otherwise
• they're all meat and potatoes type of men (like all british men) that's it. That's the facts
• fries =/= chips
• also british people are like really lazy when they speak
"would you like a cup of tea?"= "fancy a cuppa?"
"I'm just not in the mood to do that" = "cant be arsed"
"How are you?" = "ya alright?"
"Should we get some Chinese/Indian/Italian/etc food?" = "you want a chinese/Indian/italian/etc?"
• we tend to just drop words off In sentences because the person were talking to probably already understands what we mean and because like I said we're lazy
• British accents also vary so much!!! Even if you're from the same street you'll probably have a different accent and we also swear a lot, we also use a bunch of mixed slang as thete are people from everywhere over here (poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania, india named from just my class)
• Irish travellers are also really common so their would probably be a few in recruitment  idk why people dont add Irish people to their fics ?? maybe they fear putting Scotts and irish people together (watch big fat gypsy wedding for more insight I used to love that show)
• Aussies understand us pretty well (shout out to my uncle Andy) a lot of our language dialects are pretty similar and our humour is both pretty dry and blunt
• also British people dont care for like anything?? Even tho we have free healthcare most of us just slap a wet paper towel on it and call it a day. The most reaction you'll get is a room temperature ice pack
• british teeth are also something that Americans dont really understand since we have free healthcare but I'll they to simplify it. our Healthcare is free and so is dental care but only if you're younger than 16 except for check ups etc and unfortunately alot of us are born into low income households whose parents are a)mentally unwell b) physically unwell c) involved with drugs or are just simply neglectful so that means a lot of us arent taken to the dentist and by the time we are old enough to take ourselves we would have to pay for it and some of us just dont have the money for things like braces
• also I really want to see someone include chavs/roadmen in their stories because i think it would be funny plus some of them are really nice and genuinely curious when asking
• there are things called council houses/ council estates and they arent the nicest places to live and are usually not in the best shape but it's a place to sleep, most of the people who live there are usually people who live on benefits and are really lovely (might be biased I used to live in one tho), you usually have to top up on gas and electric every so often via a card (gas) and a key (for electric) usually able to get these topped up from you local corner shop
• alot of the nosies we make are as if we're cave men

• for some reason people are really classist?? Because how dare the poor be alive, and I'm not talking about just rich people being bad to the poor if you have bad living conditions expect to be made fun of by other low income people 💀 you'll be lucky if yoire funny because otherwise you will just be getting bullied.
•our weather is pretty much grey, our grass is almost never fully green and usually patchy, our summers are so hot they cause wild fires because we have no humidity and no air con, our winters are a hit or miss either too cold or a regular day

• Some documentaries (ish) for those who love information: old people homes for four year old, emergency, educating greater Manchester, educating Cardiff, poor kids, anything with stacey Dooley or louis theroux in
• it's kinda hard to describe the uk to someone whose never witnessed or experienced it.

It’s interesting the different directions the show could have gone to get Wille and Simon together. Based on their first interaction, I would have thought it would be the ‘enemies to lovers’ trope. Instead, Simon talked trash about the monarchy in front of everyone and Wille was instantly smitten.
It’s often discussed that Wille and Simon fell for each other because Wille really saw Simon and Simon really saw Wille. I just can’t get over how very true that is for Wille. Looking back, Simon has been the *only* person in Wille’s life who never cared about his title and doesn’t make it a consideration in their association to one another.
His Family - His parents (really Kristina - Ludwig is furniture) obviously care about Wille being the Crown Prince. Carrying on the title, the traditions and the respectable royal image. - As much as Erik may have cared about Wille as a brother, he also cared that Wille was appropriately representing the family. Continuously telling Wille to get over whatever problems he was having and just be the proper Prince.
The School - As much as the school staff should treat him impartially, they obviously don’t. Lining up to greet him when he first gets to school, giving him a two-person room with no roommates, and calling him Kronprinsen instead of Wilhelm. Some of that may be protocol to royalty, but that’s my point. Even among adults who would have authority over him, he’s still singled out and given higher regard.
His Friends - When Wille was first told about going to Hillerska, his initial concern was that all his friends were here. Friends that were never to be heard from again. Showing that they were only his friend as long as they could get something from him. Not because they cared about him as a person. - Even though his new Hillerska friends can treat him relatively close to a normal person, most of them still belong to The Society. Imagine you’re a person just trying to go to school and your friends belong to a secret society where they take an oath of loyalty you and your family. I’m sure part of that has to be a mind fuck. - Even his best friend. Although Felice and Wille’s dynamic has now evolved into an authentic friendship, she admitted to Wille that the only reason she had any initial interest in him was because he was a prince.
For his whole life, even the people who treat him (mostly) normally, still see him as both Wille and Prince Wilhelm. The part of his life that he hates is the thing that defines him the most to everyone else. But then there’s Simon. How intoxicating it must have been for him to find someone who not only sees Wille, but sees only Wille. Every time Simon talked to Wille, hung out with Wille, kissed Wille, held hands with Wille...it was for Wille. It's no wonder he fell so hard and hasn't let go.

I HATE ganlink and ganzel, but, mostly, I HATE Ganondorf.
I swear, how can there be people who ship a demon who always seeks to FUCK WITH THE LIVES OF THE KINGDOM AND THE PROTAGONISTS and say that "" oh, but he's a victim "", "" oh, it's Hylia's fault""" , "" ain, but look carefully """.
Look, nothing!!! I swear, every time I see fanarts or fanfics or the number of people who support this with the shitty excuse of """ oh, Link/Zelda will show what's good about him"" (that's when it's not a romanticization of rape or abusive relationship). And you know what's the worst, it's the fact that Nintendo's shit makes him ""physically attractive"" since it seems like if you're physically attractive you can do whatever the fuck you want and people not only will forgive you, as he will glorify you.
My God, Ganondorf isn't even a gray villain, with layers, NO!!! He's just the typical shit villain who wants to dominate and kill just because he likes (and no, neither do I). come with Ganondorf from WW, because that was ridiculous, "" oh, I just wanted a better place, I just wanted the wind"" and then he tries to invade a Kingdom that isn't his and condemns the gerudo and Hyrule, he he's just a selfish spoiled brat who tried to play the victim).
And I'm not even going to talk about Ghirahim's ship with Link here because it's ridiculous and disgusting, ""haha, let's ship Link with the guys who screwed up his life for active and passive because GAY SEX, haha""". I hate sidlink and malink, but at least the stories and fanarts are cute, the relationships are healthy and, most importantly, MALON AND SÍDON NEVER TRIED TO FUCK LINK'S LIFE!!!!
I like fanarts that place Ganondorf, Zelda and Link as "unlikely friends" or with Zelda and Link destroying or mocking Ganondorf but that's it, if you want to do a story where he finds the Light, do it. BUT DON'T INVOLVE LINK AND ZELDA IN THIS, THEY HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY OR DUTY IN """RESCUING GANONDORF"""!!!
All games say that Ganondorf is only king because he is the ''''chosen one''''. If there's anyone who enjoys the '''divine monarchy''' it's this son of a bitch. Another thing, seriously, just because there is a conflict in Gaza (it seems to ignore what Hamas does to its own people) and because he is dark-skinned, he cannot be a villain? Please, it would be a problem if all Gerudos were portrayed as villains.
It makes me sick to see how a part of the fandom always wants to find a way to make Ganondorf a '''gray villain''' when they aren't crying and kicking because Nintendo doesn't justify all his actions as a '''poor thing and as Hyrule is the great hidden evil'''.
And the stupidest thing is why these people ask this, since it seems like they can't ask for more '''complexity''' from Ganondorf without talking about his shitty race, I'll bet my house that if Ganondorf were a white man, clearly heterosexual, no one would say anything about him being a cartoonish villain.
The mistakes of the royal family of Hyrule have never been hidden, some even come to light (the history of the Yiga, the Civil War in Oot), but it seems that these people would only keep quiet if Ganondorf decimated all the Hylians. , because Hylians are evil and how dare you insinuate that a dark-skinned man from the Middle East is a shitty person and a tyrant who uses his people as instruments and blah, blah, blah.
''''Ain, but Ganondorf from Wind Waker'''', the truth is that little happened to him. That little speech of his is the same one in which Hitler told the Jews in the concentration camps that ''''Germany was destroyed by the First War and the Treaty of Versailles was destroying his people and that he only had the noble reason to empower the Germans. and that he only wanted the good of his people.'
Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? Well, that's basically Ganondorf's speech.
And finally: Zelda has imperialist propaganda. Well, what's the problem? It's incredible how foreigners deify the Republic because of course, the only shit is the monarchy.
The monarchy in Latin countries was going well, with its ups and downs like every system of government and then BOOM, France, USA and England start to interfere in the politics of other countries to plunge them into wars and make it '''' democratic republics'''' completely dependent on them, a great plan, and now, the Latinos want to exchange American imperialism for Chinese, remaining slaves but changing owners. I would love imperialism like Zelda's, the races have a lot of autonomy of their own and even in the cruelest moment of the Hylian monarchy, they still managed to be self-sustainable. Ganondorf has always been a tyrant, who put his people in misery to use them as justification for his actions.
You complain about Rauru and the Hylian monarchy, but Ganondorf never wanted what was best for the Gerudo, he never wanted to live in peace with other races, he wanted to INVADE lands that weren't his (it was always implied that Hylians existed before). the Gerudo) if you have someone who is an imperialist who takes advantage of the "divine right of monarchy" that being is Ganondorf. I am very happy when I see the Gerudo prosper without the thorn in the side that is Ganondorf, I am completely in favor of that the '''gerudo men''' no longer exist and they are the incredible Amazonian tribe that they always were.
That's it, I've had this installed in my heart since I joined this fandom and finally, I'm at peace.

off the cuff thoughts about the differences between being public and being recognized
Don’t hate me but I’m actually really interested in what kinds of delicious narrative tension Young Royals 3 is going to play with when it comes to the Wilhelm/Simon relationship not just being something that happens openly but something that is public. As in, a relationship that has a public presence and meaning, that is going to be consumed by the public in some way and evaluated under public scrutiny. As in something that the palace may attempt to curate and spin a certain way for the public eye.
In my mind, being “public” is different than just being “recognized” or just being “together” in a way that the people around you can see. In a show that’s a little more “slice of life” like Heartstopper (hate to use this as the contrast example but it was the first thing that comes to mind) there’s a lot of emotional stakes to Nick and Charlie calling one another boyfriends, and then being boyfriends in front of their friends and family. And generally it’s positive when they can take these steps of being more recognized by the people around them, because it allows for a lot more emotional honesty, self-expression, and self-acceptance. It’s also historically significant, given the way that queer couples in previous periods of history have at times been forced to live in the shadows.
For Wilhelm and Simon there’s emotional stakes to being recognized as a couple, especially as they try to reclaim agency for themselves in the wake of being violently outed. Yet Wilhelm’s position as crown prince means there’s going to be political stakes as well, and for that reason they can’t be recognized without also being public. And it feels very much like this emotional threads and these political threads are in conflict. Whether they like it or not, Wilhelm and Simon are symbols. I do wonder if Kristina and some of her associates at the palace will choose to openly support Wilhelm and Simon’s relationship, but also express a lot of opinions about how that relationship gets styled and posed in photo ops. The monarchy could want Wilhelm and Simon’s relationship to be a sign of their progressiveness, showing that they can adapt to the times while still remaining one of Sweden’s constants. But I admit I would absolutely devour a storyline where this is called out for the calculating PR move that it is, and not just written off as a message about cozy acceptance.
I also think it’s interesting how this idea of the public image of relationships applies to other characters in the show. Public scrutiny is something we think of affecting queer relationships a lot, but it impacts other types of relationships as well. So let’s go into the girls’ arcs for a little bit…
Felice is constantly under scrutiny for how people perceive her relationships to Wilhelm and August, and she is consistently negatively impacted by social expectations around female gender roles. People gossip about her being a gold digger when Wilhelm kisses her, for instance, despite Wilhelm initiating. Alternately, I think a lot about the shift between Felice and August’s initial hookup in 1.3, where Felice is in a bad place emotionally but at least has some agency in her anger and rage, and some of Felice and August’s early public appearances, such as when the headmistress expresses approval of them together and says August looks happier. There’s subtext here about Hillerska being the place where high status boys and girls meet one another to eventually marry, and about women managing the emotions of the men they’re in relationships with. And, what does August yell at Felice for? For not holding his grief for him when he’s sad about Erik, of course, and holding emotional space for Wilhelm instead. He expects her to be managing his emotions. This is not just August’s general toxic douchery (although there is that) but like, what adults and public expectations have socialized into him from birth. Now, Felice and August’s relationship was never going to be functional to begin with and it’s pretty damn dysfunctional in private, but that public pressure to behave according to certain roles made things even worse between them. It trapped Felice, too, because of the expectations that she act like a Good Society Wife to whoever she’s in a relationship with and not challenge him. That’s why Felice’s public instagram blast is so important. It’s not just a fun moment, but one where she stops playing the Nice Girl and says openly how fed up she is.
Meanwhile, in season 2, Sara and August’s relationship doesn’t have quite the same kind of dysfunction. But I’m really struck by the anxiety and fear that hits Sara during the scene in 2.4, when she overhears August’s phone call to the palace and the plans for the next ten years of his life. When Sara and August fight at the ball, we can see how worried she is about the idea of her relationship with August being under the PR microscope. Not just because she’s in a relationship with the guy who exposed her brother and was pretty shitty to her best friend (although, there is very much that) but because of the nature of public scrutiny in general. Sara is already looking ahead to the endless slog of press conferences and curated social media feeds, and she knows August wouldn’t be able to protect her from that because he is the reason she’d be getting that attention in the first place. Wilhelm wasn’t able to protect Simon, after all. She’s also got her eye on how the threat of attention is affecting August, making note of how he’s turned to unprescribed ADHD medication to stay on his feet. I think it’s incredibly smart of Young Royals have the canonically autistic and ADHD character be so aware of the psychic toll it takes to present a public persona, and to recoil from that horror when it’s offered to her by the person she most desires. (I also think that’s exactly why an AU fic where Sara ends up in that public princess-consort-to-be role would be so damn interesting. I don’t think we’ve seen that kind of story with an explicitly AuDHD character and I would honestly just be fascinated.)
To bring this back around to Wilmon… I do not want to ignore the historical significance of a queer prince having a recognized queer relationship, and I do think that is something that can come with moments of joy and happiness that I will enjoy as an audience member. At the same time, I think given what this show has chosen to say about relationships serving a public function, especially in ways that reinforce the class system, I am practically salivating to see what kind of commentary we will get about how this relationship gets packaged for the public. What kind of PDA is acceptable to the press? What terms are Simon and Wilhelm allowed to use to refer to one another in interviews? What kinds of places are they allowed to be seen together? What hobbies can they pursue? What colors is a queer prince allowed to wear? Is the pink sweater Wilhelm’s sign of rebellion, or was it imposed on him by stylists because they thought it made him approachable and quirky and accepted by his parents, and Wilhelm found himself liking it in spite of the imposition? Does Simon feel he can reclaim a sense of his own image, or does he feel like he’s being curated into something he’s not? What if Simon’s ideas for his future conflict with those of the palace’s? What then? How do they find their real relationship with one another when the people around them are always attempting to craft one?
I also wonder what our role will be as audience. We have been watching Simon and Wilhelm’s story for three seasons now. Will the show challenge some of our assumptions about true love and authenticity? Will it call us out for our voyeurism? To what extent are we complicit with the public scrutiny that governs the lives of Hillerska students and the upper classes? I am so curious to find out what season 3 has to say about us, even if it takes the form of criticism we aren’t expecting.
