this is absolutely a wild hypothetical! the answer is, perhaps predictably, that it depends on who replaces him.

automattic as a whole is rotten from the top down. one of the board members is a perfect example of this: the very first female general in the US military. #girlboss, right? matt was very excited about bringing her onboard.

matt is on the board. toni, who i believe is the interim ceo and know very little about, is on the board. i would assume that any replacement ceo would be less likely to start a complete PR trashfire, but that doesn't mean that they're not still going to be making cynical, profit-based decisions.

in this economy it's very unlikely that tumblr will be staffed well enough or given enough agency to create actual lasting change for the better. but we'd at least have a ceo who isn't prone to using superadmin tools to fuck individual people over when trying to win arguments, i guess? which is not a structural win in any way, it just removes one particular volatile factor.

Listen I know "Daddy Halsin" has become a tongue in cheek haha wink wink fandom reference, but like...I cannot tell you how legitimately happy it makes me that this great bear of a man, who expresses throughout the narrative that he's always wanted a family but never got the chance, whose lineage ended with him and he sounds endlessly regretful about it, who delights over children and their laughter and happily accepts Yenna into their camp, who wants to protect the vulnerable and help make the world better, and does not want to lead but wants to care for and nurture, finally got what he wanted! Like, Stan and Kyle spending a day fishing, shotgunning beers out on Stark's Pond. They get too rowdy and Stan starts rocking the boat (literally). Kyle falls in and pouts for a solid hour, but Stan buys him ice cream and all is forgiven immediately.

Kenny and Butters going to the mall together, almost entirely because they want Panda Express and it's the closest one. Butters pays for Kenny to get to ride around on one of those little mobile animal things, just to see him experience true, honest joy. Of course the thing short-circuits and drives him at full throttle into a glass store window, and they do spend the rest of their day at the hospital, but it was fun while it lasted.

Cartman convincing Kyle to game with him, and though Kyle does it begrudgingly at first he ends up getting really into it, and they end up spending hours nearly every night absolutely obliterating little shit stains online. They go too far with it, of course, and Kyle's life suffers for it, and eventually he has to cut it back to only one session a week, but he still looks back on those couple of months fondly.

Just, dudes being guys having harmless, silly fun.

Like if you don't like Kokichi just say it, but at least be fucking accurate in your reasonings, Miu has a degradation kink, and he doesn't act like this to ANY OTHER GIRL in the game. He's playing off of her, not against her.

While we're here, lets look at how Miu talks when she's actually distressed and about to kill Kokichi

The difference is night and day, Miu is a very perverted character with multiple kinks on display, one of those kinks is degradation, she gets off on being insulted, something seen multiple times. Kokichi's attitude towards her reflects Miu's own attitude, it's not misogyny to call someone a whore if they like being called a whore and want to be called a whore. She never tells him to stop, she never gets upset at him, and when she does snap back its in something JUST as perverted like when she tells him to play with himself in the corner.

Kokichi being a misogynist makes no goddamn sense 3-4 of the people in his organization are female, he has moments of intense kindness towards Himiko, he gets along with Kaede, the ONLY character he acts like this towards is MIU because it's what MIU likes. He actively relies on Miu's inventions! They worked together! If Kokichi did not think Miu was capable because she was a woman, why would he have her use her talent for him? It makes no sense! I don't know how people don't hear the goddamn moaning! It's not misogyny its kink!
