Yugi raise Jaden Part 6

No sooner had Yugi stepped out of the pod had Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl summoned themselves. The Dark Magician had a fond smile on his face as he looked upon Yugi, while the Dark Magician Girl did nothing to hide her excitement.

“Welcome Yugi Mouto to the Egyptian afterlife.” Came Dark Magician Girl melodic voice. “Our Pharaoh has waited for you, though I don’t believe he thought you’d arrive so soon.” Yugi’s blood turned to ice for a second. Was…was he dead? Was Mokuba wrong? Were he and Kaiba dead? Did he just abandon Jaden forever? “Peace my king. Your heart still beats, I am just saying that the Pharaoh will be pleased to see you.” Dark Magician Girl quickly tried to assure Yugi that he was still alive.

The Dark Magician sent his apprentice a disappointed look before flying down to Yugi and offing his hand to help Yugi down from the pod.

“Thank you.” Yugi thanked the spirit, who responded with a smile and a nod. “Though I have to ask why you appeared now.” Yugi questioned turning his head between the two spell-casters.

“The soul’s of our human reflections are nearby. Seeing as they are normally near the Pharaoh we thought we could lead you to them.” Dark Magician Girl explained.

Yugi realized she was probably speaking about Mahad and Mana, Atem’s friends from his time as Pharaoh. “That would be great!” Even if Atem wasn’t with them, they would probably know where Atem was. And wherever Atem was is where Kaiba would be.

The two spirit smiled at him before floating off in the direction of the palace. Yugi quickly followed after the two. They arrived into town, there were people milling about, but they stopped upon seeing Yugi. Pointing at the young man and his strange clothing and whispering. It had been a long time since a new spirit had joined them.

Yugi was starting to get uncomfortable with the stares when suddenly the Dark Magician disappeared from in front of him. “What-”

“It is alright my king.” Dark Magician Girl assured. “The Pharaoh and his guest must have started their daily duel. I’m sure Dark Magician was called to serve our Pharaoh.”

“Ah.” Yugi nodded along but speed up his pace. So Kaiba had gotten what he wanted, to duel Atem again. Judging by the fact that it was a daily duel and the fact Kaiba had yet to return home, Yugi had a sneaking suspicion that Joey was right. Kaiba hasn’t come home yet because he hadn’t won yet.

Yugi could feel anger rising in him. Anger at Kaiba for disturbing Atem’s peace. For not coming home and worrying Mokuba. For forcing Yugi away from his son! Yes it was Yugi’s choice to go, but no one else could have made the trip.

He followed Dark Magician Girl into the palace and followed her to the Pharaoh’s meeting chambers. The room was huge and ornate. With the pharaoh’s throne against the back wall, standing tall and proud. But Yugi’s eyes were drawn to the two opposite sides of the room.

On one side stood Seto Kaiba. Decked out in all of his tech, just as he was during there last duel, the blue lights from the duel disk shining around him perfectly mirroring the blue glow from his Blue eyes white dragon that hovered protectively above him. Even though Yugi was furious with the stubborn man, he could admit that this was Kaiba in his element. The man look near ethereal with the blue glow reflecting off his white coat.

But at the other end of the room stood someone Yugi hadn’t thought he would ever see again.

Atem.

If Kaiba looked ethereal then Atem could rival the divine. His white tunic was pristine. The royal purple cloak flowing behind him. He was decked in gold, from his legs to his wrist, to the multiple necklaces, to the crown upon his head. He looked every inch the regal pharaoh he was in life. Yugi could understand why the ancient Egyptians believed their Pharaoh’s to be gods, for he could see Atem as one.

Just as Yugi entered the room Atem summoned Slifer the Sky Dragon. The magnificent beast descending from the sky, if there was once a ceiling there there wasn’t one anymore, as Slifer’s thunder clouds filled the hall.

Atem ordered his final attack and Slifer destroyed Blue eyes white dragon. The duel ended. Atem was the winner.

“This isn’t over Pharaoh, I’ll beat you yet.” Kaiba called out full of rage and determination.

Yugi had been in awe at seeing his partner duel once again, until he heard Kaiba’s words. Then all of his fury returned to him.

“Kaiba! This ends now!” Yugi called out. All of his attention on the stubborn CEO in front of him. Kaiba’s whipped around to meet Yugi’s furious gaze with wide eyes as Yugi stormed his way towards him. Completely unaware of the Pharaoh staring at him in equal parts awed devotion and heart stoping fear.

Atem had had a long month.

It started when Seto Kaiba arrived in the palace. For a moment Atem’s heart had dropped. It hadn’t been long since he’d moved on, none of his friends from the present should be joining him yet.

He knew about Diva and the havoc that was occurring. After all he had been keeping an eye on Yugi and his friends, but that danger had passed. Atem had taken care of it personally. A feat of power that had blocked him from seeing into the world of the living for the past few months. He had been worried about his friends in the present but he never thought one of them would die.

Nor did he expect Seto Kaiba to choose to come to the Egyptian afterlife. There were several afterlife’s you could go to, the Egyptian one wasn’t as common a choice as it once was since their gods had fallen out of popularity with the living.

But Atem had hoped that at the very least Yugi would choose to come here when he passed on. He wanted his aibou to live a long and happy life, but he was selfish enough to hope Yugi would choose to spend eternity with him. In truth he hoped all their friends did, Joey, Téa, Tristian, Bakura, Serenity, Duke, Mai, the tomb keepers, and the Kaiba brothers. Though he had less hope for the final two with Kaiba’s stanch refusal of their past.

So it was quite surprising to see Seto Kaiba approaching his throne. Upsetting because how did Kaiba manage to die in the few months that Atem wasn’t watching over his friends? How was Mokuba holding up? How was Yugi and their friends taking the loss? Yet he was also a little pleased that Kaiba of all people chose to come to this afterlife.

That is until Kaiba opened his mouth. “Pharaoh I’ve come all the way here just to duel you and prove once and for all that I am the superior duelist.”

And who was Atem to deny a dead man his wish. They would have it out and then Atem could ask his friend what had happened to end his life so early.

But after the duel when Atem approached his friend to inquire after his death, Kaiba had looked him in the eyes and responded with “I didn’t die you fool. I build a dimensional transporter just so I could beat you.” He said it as though Atem’s idea was the crazy one.

Atem had been furious with him. You can’t force yourself into the afterlife. The two had argued with Atem trying to convince Kaiba to go home before he damaged his body or soul, while Kaiba refused to leave until he defeated the Pharaoh.

This stalemate had been going on for a month now. Kaiba demanding to duel and Atem ordering him to go home. Since Kaiba was stubborn and Atem did enjoy dueling him, Atem agreed to one duel a day, far less then what Kaiba wanted, but Atem worried over the strain dueling here might put of Kaiba body and soul.

Their duels were always an event. Many people would come to watch, excited to see if this was the day the man from the living finally accepted that their Pharaoh could not be beat.

Today’s duel played the same as all the others. Kaiba was giving Atem a run for his money, with Blue eyes white dragon on the field to protect him. But Atem had his Dark Magician and kuriboh on the field. With a quick multiply card on kuriboh he had the three sacrifices he needed to summon Slifer. The gods were still willing to join him in battle, he had the feeling they enjoyed a fun duel as much as he did.

He could hear the crowd gasp and murmur, but that was normal when he summoned one of the gods. He directed his attack at Blue eyes and wiped out the rest of Kaiba’s life points.

The crown cheered his victory, and Seto made his normal dramatic speech. “This isn’t over Pharaoh, I’ll beat you yet.” Atem knew that it was coming, but it still frustrated him that Kaiba was being so stubborn about this. He needed to go home. He was playing with powers they didn’t understand.

But all of Atem’s annoyance at Kaiba left him when he heard another voice raise above the crowd. A voice he hadn’t expected to hear again for many years. “Kaiba! This ends now!”

Atem couldn’t believe it. He turned his head to see Yugi. His aibou had grown since he left. Yugi stood tall, the soft lavender of his shirt and deep violet of his vest drawling attention to his amethyst eyes. For a moment Atem was filled with both elation and dread, because Yugi is here!

Yugi is here meaning he died young and never got to truly live his life, something Atem would rage against the gods for.

Yugi is here meaning he chose to come to this afterlife to be with Atem.

Yugi is here wearing the same duel disk and bracelet as Kaiba, except his had a gentle violet glow instead of Kaiba’s electric blue, surrounding his aibou with light just as he had always brought light to Atem’s darkness.

Yugi was wearing the same tech as Kaiba….

“Yugi what are you doing here?” Kaiba asked just as shocked as Atem to see the other duelist here. Yugi was storming his way towards Kaiba not looking at anyone else, and Atem could see the king in Yugi, the one that demanded respect, his aibou had truly grown into himself.

“Mokuba sent me to come get you. You’ve scared him Kaiba, he’s worried sick over you.” Yugi wasn’t yelling but his tone was firm, one not to be argued with.

Once again Atem’s world stopped. Yugi came after Kaiba. He’s not dead. Relief instantly filled him, he didn’t want Yugi’s life to be cut short. But he was also furious, not with Yugi, never with Yugi, but with Kaiba. The man was already risking his own body and soul to be here, and now because of his stubbornness Yugi was here risking his as well.

To Kaiba’s credit he did look throughly shammed over worrying Mokuba. “He knew I might take a while to return.” It was a weak defense. His brother was always his weak spot.

Yugi seemed to soften to. “Knowing that you’ll be gone and having you gone for a month are different. Go home Kaiba. Your life is waiting for you, you’ve got to go live it.”

Atem didn’t know when he had started moving towards them, that’s a lie he started walking as soon as he saw Yugi, but now he was right behind his aibou. “Yugi.”

The boy drew in a sharp breath before turning around to face Atem. The two stared at each other for a moment, taking each other in, before tears welled up in Yugi’s eyes and he launched himself forward to hug Atem. Atem caught him with ease, wrapping his arms around Yugi’s waist as Yugi wrapped his around his neck.

“I missed you, I missed you so much.” Yugi told him holding on to him tightly.

Atem tightened his own grip. “I’ve missed you to, more than you can imagine.”

Yugi let out a wet chuckle, “wanna bet?”

“This is very touching but I’m not leaving till I’ve won.” Kaiba interrupted them. Atem could kill him for real this time.

Yugi pulled away from, but didn’t fully let go of, Atem to turn his attention back to Kaiba. “Kaiba it’s over. You lost. It’s okay. But we have to go back.” Yugi turned to look at Atem again. “I miss Atem too,” he paused blinking away new tears and turning back to Kaiba “but we can’t stay here.” There was so much emotion in his voice. The longing to stay with Atem mixed with his desperation to return as soon as possible to Jaden.

Atem looked sadly at his aibou. This was hard for both of them. Saying goodbye the first time had felt impossible and now they had to do it again.

“No Yugi you don’t get it. I have-” Kaiba started in on his grand speech but Yugi had had enough.

“I understand perfectly.” Yugi snapped. “I understand that you want to win. I understand you’ve tried for a month. I understand that Mokuba is worried enough to ask me to come after you. And I understand that my son is waiting for me to come home.” Yugi practically spat the facts at Kaiba, furious with this man’s stubborn nature. Did he not understand that his friends and brother were worried about him and wanted him home?

Atem and Kaiba froze in their spots as soon as Yugi’s last sentence left his mouth. Yugi could feel Atem go ridged in his arms. Could see Kaiba gaping at him like a fish. What was their problem?

“Your son?” Atem spoke so quietly Yugi would have missed it if they weren’t standing so close. He turned to face his friend once more to see Atem’s shocked face. “You have a son?”

Always the friend who offers to dm when everyone talks about starting a dnd campaign. Despite what canon has gone on to say, I choose to believe he maintained his King Of Games title while using his cutesy deck we see in the Yami v. Yugi fight. Doesn't wear heels to events (that was Yami's thing) and always takes time to talk to fans, even if they run up to him on the street.

Jaden: Altered my brain chemistry on a fundamental level. Depressed and queer and a failure, proving you don't have to be innocent to deserve innocence. Does not pay his taxes. The character for anyone who's ever felt monstrous, alien, foreign in their own skin, then breaking down that none of those things make you less human, less deserving of love. Reads comic books and will enthusiastically lend you 300 issues if you even casually mention you've been thinking of doing the same.

Yusei: My son. My boi. I can say so much on him that I haven't even touched on in my numerous essays rambling about this funky little mechanic. If the ygo shows tend to focus on forms of love that aren't romantic, then 5Ds is about familial love. Yusei is passionate and caring and a bleeding heart. The only shonen protag to ever get told by his mom "You're grounded." and say "Okay." and NOT go fight space gods until his mother gives him the go ahead. He's a revolutionary. He knows the trash collector by name. He's a planet. He's a star with gravitational pull strong enough to change the world. He's Just A Guy.

PROTAGS WHOSE SHOWS I HAVE NOT SEEN

Yuma: Bisexual colored hair. Continuing the proud yugioh tradition to be adhd af. I know he sleeps in a hammock so I'm gonna go ahead and call that he's the kid always rocking in place. Leg bouncer. Dyslexic and doesn't know it, just knows that words are easier to read when looking through the blue tinted screen of his weird visor thing. Possibly kills satan? Good for him. Watches telenovellas and gets overly invested in the plotlines. Would probably eat the popsicle stick because he thinks it's part of the experience. He is NOT stupid he is just a dumbass.

Yuya: Tomato head. Looks somehow exactly like three different people I worked with when I did theatre, right down to the googles perched on the forehead with mismatched lenses. I've seen arc-v's opening and idk why but I really like the animation of him slinging his jacket over his shoulder. Really wonderful gender. One of those kids that didn't know about heterosexuality until he was at least ten, then proceeded to be very upset and confused by the concept. The guy leading the rowdy table at waffle house at 10pm that will at some point burst into song and disturb every patron's night but their own.

Yusaku: The kid at the same waffle house just trying to order a coffee. Draws in the margins of his notebook. Skateboards. He does not like to talk about either of these things, but then one day you show him a video with like a million views of some guy inking a giant masterpiece, or doing a backside tailslide off a shipping container and he'll just casually go "Oh hey that's me." Desperately in need of a stim toy and a hug.

Yuga: Had a phase where he was obsessed with firefighters. Also likes to light things on fire. Is shocked everytime when the result of lighting a thing on fire is Thing: *Is On Fire*. I don't think he uses hair gel I think he just scrunches up his eyebrows and concentrates really hard and his hair just Does That. Really wants a dog. Shockingly good at math, favorite number is 25. All of his pencils have bite marks and the erasers are completely chewed off.

Yudias: Looks like a glaceon. It's really heartwarming to see yugioh continually get autistic representation right; a lot of stories don't include the fact that we carry swords and can fire lasers from our eyeballs. Every time I see him I want to hand him a wrapped sandwich, a babybel cheese, and a clementine. Would probably enjoy keeping plants on the windowsill. Every picture I see of him, he is either wondrously excited, or completely baffled, to find himself in the situation he is currently in.

So, a while back i wrote some notes for a fanfic idea that I had, about Kaiba adopting Jaden when he was very little; there is a lot of fanart about it and a few fanfics too, but a lot of them focused on ships i don't care a lot about so i wanted to write my own take on it... the only problem being that i haven't watched a lot of GX yet, so I didn't feel that confident on writing it, also don't really have a lot of free time.

So i'm posting my notes on it here! Maybe i finish it someday, i don't know, but here it is:

Plot: Jaden Yuki is actually Seto Kaiba’s adopted son, probably named Jaden Kaiba. His biological parents died when he was very young, and Kaiba at the time wanted to adopt a child (he would not admit it out loud, but he was feeling a bit lonely after Mokuba grew up and started to study a lot more and go out with friends, and so decided to adopt someone).

His personality is still pretty similar to the original, very cheery, lazy and childish, but a little smarter since he studied a lot more when he was younger (not a lot though…).

His relationship with his father is a little… complicated. His father clearly loves him, and wants to protect Jaden of any problem that could happen. Jaden also loves his father, and thinks that he is super cool and talented. But Kaiba can be quite clueless about people’s emotions and needs sometimes, and Jaden is pretty reckless and energetic in a way that frustrates his father quite often.

He also wants him to inherit KaibaCorp one day, something that Jaden really does not want to do (he finds this kind of job very boring) and instead wants to become a professional duelist, and become the next king of games. I imagine that the stuff with Yubel happening with him during his childhood too, and I can’t imagine that Seto would want him to spend a lot of his time dueling after all that.

He met Yugi and friends quite a few times, usually on his birthdays. Kaiba did not invite them, of course, but Mokuba wanted the closest thing he had to friends to meet his son. Jaden loves Joey and Yugi, and imitates them a lot, something that annoys his father quite a bit.

(BTW, Yugi has retired from dueling, and now works making games and in his grandfather’s gameshop. He works for KaibaCorp, and can give advice to Kaiba and Mokuba on how to deal with some of Jaden’s emotions sometimes.)

Besides Yugi’s friends, he also probably met Pegasus before (though I doubt that his father ever told him about the bad things he did in the past), as well as Zigfried and Chazz’s brothers. In fact he probably met Chazz when he was younger, but he would not recognize Jaden now.

That’s because Jaden would not be recognizable as Kaiba’s son for the average person; for one, Kaiba decided to not put the spotlight on his son a lot, especially after his childhood, mostly by the insistence of Mokuba to give him a better life as a teen and also stop him from getting kidnapped a lot. He also usually changes Jaden’s hair with gel when they are together, so people won't really know him by his natural “Kuriboh hair” look.

He ends up going to Duel Academy after fighting with his father about his future, with him initially not wanting his son to go; he creates a fake last name (Yuki, inspired by Yugi) and never tells his friends, other students or teachers about the fact that Seto Kaiba is his father (maybe Shepard knows about it, Crowler definitely does not); his father also does not know initially, but Jaden tells him pretty early on and he begrudgingly accepts it. He calls his father on the phone sometimes, probably lies about being in Obelisk Blue. (maybe his father learns the truth later on, won't tell Jaden though.) 

That means that when he helps people with their family problems (Syrus, Chumley, Chazz, Alexis… a lot of people actually) it feels very strange for him; he does not know how to solve the problems with his own father, and just wants to run away from his problems with him.

Eventually i guess Kaiba would finally visit his own school and finally discuss things with Jaden face to face, probably the two would fight about his choices for his future and the fact he's in Slifer. Jaden's friends would probaby be shocked to say the least

Not for nothing but this is a daily occurrence for these guys and I was on the street a little bit and I kind of put me there and they don't think too much but it's not the right thing to do but they're always going in and out of these places you can see he's fighting with Terry cheesman you think that they would put a camper somewhere or rent a boiler room or something use a different character and nobody cares if they look like s*** all the time but really I'm curious as to why they're actually heaping steaming bums possibly throughout the entire film which could go on for a little bit more than a few days

And it's true too the film is like a week long and it's several scenes like this and going into different places and the bosses are there even the head ones but they're not in the facility and it's really odd that they're doing this and they want to steal stock from the pseudo empire and it just does not work at all and just keep trying finally Mac walked in after the film so I needed to get out you're a bunch of losers and your pathetic and I see what he's been saying I need them away from me they're just this mindless blob making dumb noises and that's what you doing and our son says what about compared to them says you have direction and you know what you're doing but it's trying to rip me off so get out and you kicked them out they said this I don't know what he's doing or why he's here but always gets messed up when he's here said no and gets messed up when you're there trying to steal over and over you trying to steal from me and I don't have anything and you guys are a bunch of jerks and I want to hang out with you because you're poor I'm in of the mind and body if you have enough money to go to McDonald's at least go there a Burger King I don't want to hear anything from you it's very simple math a lot of people can't eat and they get sick and you're going to get f***** up doing this dumb s*** you doing and it started sobbing and said you're right about something if we're eating or not it's like no they care if you're eating or not that's the point and so they went in and started eating and they said you're right that's how you do it how the f****** Louie and that was her son for real they kind of got him into the homeless shelter but he was doing it on purpose so his family wouldn't suffer and so his place would be okay and he said it's up to you to tell them and she told them you said I'm there and your insulated and they said my God is doing the job and it works and so you can't get blamed and they're not to blame for housing me on the street and so it looks like they put me there and she told him the whole thing and it went on too and she's telling all these points about her side of it and then she said he's doing the right thing it's harder than hell for him I know how he grew up and this is a nightmare his living he came home and they loved you and it was good

Rise: Release Date, Cast, Trailer, and Everything We Know About the Antetokounmpo Family Film

NBA history was created on July 20, 2021, when the Milwaukee Bucks won the championship. Giannis Antetokounmpo, a two-time MVP, and his brother Thanasis joined their brother Kostas on that day to become the first set of three brothers to win an NBA championship. The route that led to this success was undoubtedly difficult, and it serves as the inspiration for the new film Rise.

The Antetokounmpo brothers have their share of difficulties as they grew up. The children, who were born in Nigeria, moved to Greece with their family and struggled financially while continuously fearing deportation. However, despite their struggles, the three young guys maintained their devotion and resolve to study the game of basketball and develop into the stars they are today.

Given their success in the league, it only makes sense that a movie about their incredible adventure will be shown to the globe.

Rise plot 

Vera and Charles Antetokounmpo struggled to support their five children after immigrating to Greece from Nigeria while always fearing deportation. The couple, whose oldest son was still living with relatives in Nigeria, were keen to become citizens of Greece but were constantly thwarted by the system.

The brothers would sneak away to play basketball with a nearby youth team when they weren't working with the rest of the family selling goods to visitors on the streets of Athens. This was encouraged by their father.

Being latecomers to the sport, they laboured arduously to develop into elite athletes after realising their immense potential on the basketball court. In 2013, Giannis entered the NBA Draft with the assistance of a representative in a long-shot effort that would change not only his life but the lives of his entire family.

Just to add, Giannis, who is an executive producer, said this about the movie: "I'm overjoyed and pleased that Disney Plus is sharing the story of my family with viewers all across the world. My hope is that it would encourage individuals who are going through similar things to hold onto their hope, stay committed to their objectives, and never give up trying to live a better life."

Rise cast 

Real-life brothers Uche and Ral Agada play the roles of Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, which is a unique casting decision. The duo's breakthrough acting role comes with Rise. Here's a fun fact as well. Disney claims that when Uche spotted Giannis' casting notice for a role like him in a movie on Instagram, he was actually working at a WaWa drive-through.

Jaden Osimuwa and Elijah Sholanke, two aspiring actors, are portraying the other Antetokounmpo brothers Kostas and Alex. Dayo Okeniyi and Yetide Badaki also play the dad and matriarch of the Antetokounmpo family alongside these young performers.

Okeniyi has previously played the roles of Paul in the Hulu film Fresh and Oloman in the Apple TV Plus series See. Badaki portrayed Bilquis in the Starz show American Gods and Chi Chi in the sentimental smash-hit This Is Us.

I know that in the Seto adopts Jaden AU, it was pretty much stated that in this AU that Jaden while tempted by the darkness never fell to it. Meaning that his Supreme King side never took over him, his friends were saved as well. 

But....what if Jaden did fall. 

What if his friends fell in that fight with Brron, his childhood friends mind you and Atem as much as he tried could not quell the darkness in Jaden’s heart. 

Because even the Pharaoh himself could not over power the embodiment of the gentle darkness himself. Especially when Jaden gives into it willingly, all Atem can do is follow behind the Supreme King who looks at him with not a trace of recognition. 

And Seto, he absolutely would have consoled the sobbing Bastion, who stayed behind to keep an eye on them but ultimately lost connection. Seto would have told the gang and Mokuba to handle everyone else, force open the portal on sheer willpower alone. 

Because damn you, damn you and anyone else who thinks they could keep him from his son. 

Seto Kaiba stepping into the throne room of the Supreme King, Aster and Zane keeping the guards busy outside. While he wanders into the castle alone, he says nothing to the other, merely putting on his dual disk and stepping before him.

Seto looks into golden eyes, piercing through the hatred and without needing Jim’s eye seeing his son. His broken, pained, terrified son who used to grab onto him when the nightmares got to much. 

His heart aches at the sight of his son, so close yet so far.

“I came for my son. There’s nothing that you, nor him nor anyone else in this damn world could ever do to keep me  from him.”

“You sound so confident for a dying man” said the Supreme King, standing before with dual disk in hand. 

Seto could only imagine the spirits of that deck screaming and crying out, for Seto to save Jaden. He looked Atem in the eye, hating the way his old adversary was bound to the throne, only able to watch with shame and sadness in his eyes. 

A silent promise went between them.

Leviathan

One of the three High Kings of Hell (alongside Lucifer and Satan), each owning their own kingdom. Just like the other two High Kings and many of the ancient demons, Leviathan is a god who was banished along with the others to Hell by the Usurper. This information was shared to me by him and is also my own experiences through working with this magnificent infernal god.

Rulerships: despair, pain, loneliness, isolation, desolation, the sea, and defense

History: Leviathan is one of the great dragons of the sea and is a son of the Archdragon-goddess Tiamat, the one who created Earth’s lifeforms in the sea. Leviathan used to live in the ocean and was one of the most ancient Watchers, but when Jehovah came to claim the Earth for himself, Lucifer and many other gods rose up against him. However, the Usurper was too powerful and fractured many spirits, including Tiamat. After this lost battle, Jehovah threw the remaining rebel gods into the chaotic wasteland of Hell, where they became known as “demons”. Here is where Leviathan rose as one of the three mighty Kings, carving a kingdom for himself due to his immense power. He has a multitude of demons (some are named in the Goetia and many are external to that source), and his power in his kingdom is without equal. Recently, there has been a truce between Lucifer and Leviathan, which allows for greater cooperation and mutual respect between the two High Kings. 

His Kingdom: Leviathan’s kingdom is set in a desolate and dry land full of steep canyons. It is a place that is filled with crippling sorrow and loneliness, so much so that it can break the strongest of hearts. His demons are accustomed to this, but astral travelers are warned from remaining for too long. The human spirits who are condemned to this land are tormented through indescribable loneliness and despair, and they are all spread out far apart across the land, never able to see another being again. Their wails and moans are carried far across the empty landscape, which sound full of haunting agony. In Leviathan’s castle, it is dark and massive, with black stone pillars stretching towards the ceiling. At his throne, one can see Leviathan’s massive form coiled high and watching. 

Elements: Water, Earth, and Strife

Colours: Black

Appearance: A massive, black scaled serpentine-dragon with silver eyes that shine like stars; his body spans dozens of meters even when coiled. Leviathan usually keeps his eyes squinted when around others since if he fully opens them, it creates a massive blast of immense despair.

Personality: Leviathan values loyalty more than anything. He also values love, innocence, idealism, intelligence, and serenity. He is deeply ponderous and serious, and sometimes he can appear to be dire when overcome by despair. He is very meticulous and patient as well, and despite his dark and serious behaviour, he will show compassion towards those who are innocent. He usually prefers being alone and seldomly speaks to anyone, making him one of the most withdrawn demons. Leviathan is incredibly austere and diligent, as well as powerful. He is easily able to crush the psychologically defenses of armies just by approaching them. 

Leviathan is the ancient dragon who destroys all that is redundant (be it people, places, or ideas); he tears right through them but does not devour them. These things instead scatter apart over vast distances so that better things can come forth. Overall, Leviathan tends to be cold, calculating, dispassionate, and very reserved with most beings. He rarely speaks to anyone except only when necessary. 

Like every being, Leviathan has a shadow aspect, which is his darker and destructive side. This side emerges when Leviathan is overcome by his own grief, causing him to become cold, sadistic, and robotic in personality. This side of him is the one which created a race of entities which are very similar to the Cenobites mentioned in the books by Clive Barker. Leviathan creates these beings from select humans who are being tormented in his realm and transforms them into cold-natured beings who know nothing but pain and act as sado-masochistic torturers for Hell. 

How to call him: Speak to King Leviathan as you would with any other god, be polite and considerate, especially since he is royalty. Contact him through telepathically speaking in your mind, directing the words to him (you can do this verbally, but if malicious spirits hear, they may pretend to be him). Try to dress formally as well, and do not demand things from him. For those who are depressed, please keep in mind that speaking to Leviathan causes you to become exposed to his energy, which will lead to your depression becoming worse. 

What he can do: help with anything sea-related, all matters relating to defense (including self-defense); help with solitude, loneliness, shadow work, and all types of being in isolation and recovering. He can provide solace, as well as give advice and support in these matters. If requesting his assistance, ensure you are not against the values he supports, as shown above, otherwise he will disregard the call. Disloyal, hateful people who call upon him often find nothing but ruin in their lives.

Offerings:

Offerings of action are appreciated over physical offerings. Devote practices such as self-growth, shadow work, and donating to oceanic protection groups to him.

Leviathan has stated that he does not eat or drink anymore, so there are no offerings of that nature. Also he said that he no longer enjoys anything in particular, although he used to like wind chimes, the fluttering of leaves, and the open sea. So a suitable offering could be seawater (sealed in bottle). He also enjoys black tourmaline stones, so that is another option. Apart from these, sea-shells, tobacco, and basalt would be good choices.

When it's time to go to the Dark World to rescue Jesse, do any of the DM crew join the GX kids or no?

This is my Great War. Every day I think about this idea.

Because there are three options here.

1) They stay behind

The portal closes before they can get there. And they are forced to wait.

Now as I wrote here Seto does still have the dimension pod that he used to go to the afterlife and duel Atem. However they were using them to try and track down Jesse. If they get left behind they won’t stay there for long. But I don’t know if they would try and lock on to Jaden or Jesse.

If they decide to go after Jesse they are going to run into possessed Jesse. Leading to a duel with Yubel. I don’t think Yubel would win but I also don’t think they’d lose. I think they’d find a way to end the duel in a draw through outside forces. And then send anything they could to keep the DM crew occupied.

Or

They track Jaden which has the same outcome as option two

2) They get there just as the portal opens and get sucked in

Now much like Zane, Aster, and Crowler they end up some place different then the Gx kids.

They don’t catch up to Jaden until he’s already the Supreme King. And oh we have so many options from here

This is Jaden at arguably his most powerful. He has super poly and is not holding back. He doesn’t care about anyone or anything right now and that makes him dangerous.

Add into this that the DM crew as are looking at their son/nephew who they raised as a little family unit. He’s lost to them right now and they are trying everything to snap him out of it.

How many DM characters do you think the Supreme King can beat?

Note they might be ‘going all out’ but they would never risk killing Jaden. Joey is definitely dueling the same way he did against Mai in the Oricalcos arc. Focused more on snapping Jaden out of it than wining. But as we know from Axel winning is the only way to defeat the Supreme King.

Yugi is absolutely trying to make the appeal to his son. “This isn’t you. I love you. Come back to me.” We could make this so heart wrenching.

Note they would probably met up with Axel right after Jim was lost. Axel tells them the horrible truth. This is because I still want to give the final duel against the Supreme King to Axel as it is a great moment for his character.

Plus after it’s all over Jaden has to live with not only ‘killing’ his friends (again not your fault) but also hurting and maybe killing some of his family.

3) They join the Gx crew for the whole journey.

Jaden still tries to rush ahead but the DM crew are not only experienced Jaden wranglers but also experience desperate protagonist wranglers. It’s your time to shine Aunt Téa and Dad Yugi.

They are able to keep a better eye on the kids so they don’t get captured. Meaning there has to be another way to sacrifice people.

We have some options

A) the Gx crew still gets put under the spell

they start talking crap about Jaden which greatly disturbs the DM crew for a lot of reasons.

Then they reach Brron the man traps separates the two groups all the Gx crew into duels (like a five on 1 tag duel?) but they all lose except Jaden because of their sadness/rage.

Leaving Jaden friendless and feeling like he couldn’t protect them. 

Jaden feels like a failure and maybe he gets tricked into thinking his family is dead and that’s what makes him fall.

B) it’s the DM crew Brron targets for his spell. They don’t have the negative feelings towards Jaden but each other.

Hear me out.

The whole situation has been stressful and a lot of them (Joey and Tristian) are upset with Seto’s school that keeps putting Jaden and friends in danger.

Téa and Yugi as super sad about Jaden’s lose of normalcy and also the way some of his friends behave.

Seto’s pride is as large as ever.

It’s not that they don’t love each other, they do but it’s stress and the situation and complex feelings. They’re not blaming each other but the situation and the spell brings out those negative emotions.

This ends with them getting sacrificed

Jaden has to watch as he loses his family and he loses it.

This also allows the Gx crew to be more active in the plot and maybe have some bonding with the remaining DM crew as only four are sacrificed.

Again this is my Great War. I have no idea which idea to go with.

It’s been a full twenty four hours but I am still absolutely flabbergasted by how bbt takes time for, and really emphasizes, Yusei’s character.

I’ve seen some people come for my card game son with the accusation that he’s “too boring” or “doesn’t have any personality”. And, I’m gonna be honest, I kinda get it.

Especially coming on the heels of Jaden “What is subtlety” Yuki. Yusei is soft-spoken. Yusei is even keeled. Yusei is kind and stoic and simple and I adore him so, so dearly for it. If he’s not your cup of tea, cool, power to you, but don’t mistake that simplicity for innamity. While not the main focus of the show, he has very defined character arcs exploring and expanding his character. Little, subtle examinations on being kind in the face of oppression. The pressures of heroism. Found family.

Of course, they are very much subplots in the show. But bbt?

Yusei’s character definition is cranked to eleven. He is anxious. He is resigned. He is sad. He is willing to let the king of games destroy the trading card representation of his soul and then is legitimately taken aback when people prioritize his happiness over the fate of the world.

Yusei Fudo is such a character and I love him.

((Since I have two very canon divergent events, I wasn’t sure which to use. But in the end, Bastion won out because while Jaden is unconscious for a bit after separating from Haou, he doesn’t die? So anyway RIP))

“Let’s end this pathetic duel once and for all, Jaden! I s-“

“Bastion…”

That’s when he heard her voice…. And then Clair de Lune started playing, echoing through the obelisk white dorms.

Jaden had no idea what was going on. It was audio of some woman talking to Bastion.

Syrus was confused too.

“What’s going on?”

“Hey, look over there!” Aster pointed. The small Ra student looked over to where the King of Light stood… while his posture hadn’t changed drastically… this voice made him falter.

“Talk to your son, Ms Misawa….” Chazz whispered. “I know he’ll listen to you….”

Bastion was frozen still, a haunted, faraway look in his eyes. “Mother…”

Jaden couldn’t believe it. That’s Bastion’s mom?

“I know there will be times when you want to give up… when you want to scream, and cry and smash things, hating yourself the world and everyone in it… you have to keep fighting… because there is beauty and love in pain and suffering… so long as you push beyond it….”

“Mother…!”

Jaden was at a loss for words. There were so many things about Bastion he had no idea about… maybe he wasn’t as good a friend as he thought he was…

“Bastion… listen to your mom! I know you hate me, and you have every right to do so, but is that really worth destroying the world for? Destroying the things that mattered to your mom?!”

Bastion growled and grabbed at his hair. “SHUT UP!!”

“Bastion, it’s not too late for you!!” Christina begged, “Your aura it’s—“

“SHUT UP!! DON’T PRETEND YOU CARE ABOUT ME NOW!!”

“But I do care about you, Bastion!”

Everyone turned to see Chazz enter the arena. “I know I suck at showing it, but I do care!! You’re the only person I ever considered as… a best friend, Bastion… I got you into this mess; let me get you out!!”

Bastion seemed to continue to falter. His mother’s tape and Atticus’ piano playing still going.

The light seemed to be trying to push him to keep duelling, but… he couldn’t do it.

Bastion decided he was going to forfeit the duel until the light took over! It laughed and proclaimed it was going to destroy Jaden and, by extension, the world.

However, as they were playing the final card, something stopped his arm from moving.

Bastion’s spirit was gripping onto the arm for dear life. As the two duelists floated through Neo Space, everyone knew there was still danger. But Bastion wasn't going to let that happen.

“Hassleberry... Neos... Sarina, before you destroy the satellite, direct it at us!!”

“What?!”

“The only thing that can truly destroy the light of destruction is the light itself!!”

“But Bastion, what about you?!”

“It doesn't matter... I made a mistake, and now I'll pay for it!! Now hurry up and destroy us!!”

“You fool!! Doing this will kill us both!!”

“So be it!! No one remembers me as is, but at least if I die now, I’ll die knowing I took you with me!!”

Hassleberry was reluctant, as was Neos, but the duo eventually used their strength to move the satellite. With one steady blast, both Bastion and the Light were disintegrated into stardust.

It was so sudden. It was so quick. They didn’t even have the chance to say goodbye.

The duel was over.

They had saved the world.

Hassleberry and Neos worked together to destroy the satellite, Syrus gasping in shock as his frenemy disappeared.

Jaden and Chazz were quiet. The duel was over, but their friend was gone.

Megan and Aurora helped walk Aster and Sartorius out. Syrus followed as he wanted to make sure Hassleberry was ok. Meanwhile, Jaden and Chazz stayed behind, mourning their friend.

“Bastion...”

Bastion slowly opened his eyes when he heard the voice. Was someone calling to him? He looked around, and that’s when he saw her floating towards him. “Bastion... My sweet boy...”

“Mother...”

“It is not your time yet, love...” she said gently

“But... What do I do? It's my fault this happened, and I don't deserve to live for all the horrible things I've done!!”

“But you cannot make up for the damage you do in death either, my love...”

“I...” she had a point.

“You need to go now and start over, my love... Become a new person, start from scratch, a new deck to boot... There’s one I kept hidden in the bottom of my piano. I treasured it, and I want you to use it.”

“I... Yes, mother...”

“Now go... And start anew!!”

Bastion saw everything go white; the next thing he knew was back in the area; no, not only that he was somewhere warm, someone was holding him.

He slowly opened his eyes to see Chazz and Jaden smiling at him.

“Welcome home, Bastion...”

Cracks in the Sun (Euphoria)

This is a little snippet of my euphoria character synopsis. All of this is done by Rue’s narration.

Jaden Art was the definition of a sheltered child.

Her entire life, her family kept things from her. She was the moment for them, they wanted her to be happy. And in return, she bloomed. She was one of the wealthy families, sitting at the house at the tip of the hill of the block known as ‘rich row’ her family seemed like your average wealthy black family.

Her father, Andrew Art, was an big investor in Jacob’s construction. Him and Cal went way back to College, promising that they’d always look out for each other. Andrew would buy land, allow Cal to put buildings, and boom. They both made their money. Andrew was handed his company by his father, and the rest was history. Well of course, just like every wealthy black family, Andrew was faced with certain scandals. All that were just out to get him like OJ.

That’s not a good comparison now is it, he’s more like Kobe Bryant or Tupac with the false allegations.

Andrew always kept his mouth shut, the coke wasn’t his and the pills were prescribed he’d always say. And every single time he beat them, now he wasn’t technically telling a lie. They weren’t his, and he did have certain medications. But Andrew was hiding and covering for someone. But it’s not like that matters, the cases were always thrown out and swept under the rug just like every other rich person case.

Now her mother, Lashawn Art, was first in it for the money. Her mother would tell her when she first came to America to either get rich or marry into it. And Lashawn did just that, but along the way they did end up falling in love. And it wasn’t one sided anymore, they were both full blown in love. They had two beautiful kids and the rest was history. Some what. Lashawn was somewhat of a trophy to Andrew, he was always eager to show her off. To get her the biggest of diamonds and the flashiest of clothes. Lashawn loved to be envied, you could say that green truly was her color.

Lashawn would always tell jade to never settle for less, to find someone who would go to the end of the earth and come back with the biggest diamond possible and then and only then, consider marriage. It worked for her didn’t it?

Now the woman did have her faults, her faults came as her son. Demetrius Art.

Demetrius was a wild child growing up, he was never humbled. His mother adored him and his father fed his ego. He was fed with a silver spoon, on a silver platter, in a fucking diamond chair. He was a dick needless to say. Remember what I said about Andrew covering for someone? This is someone, his own damn son. Andrew was hoping that one day Demetrius would grow up and get serious, that one day he could take the boy around the office and teach him stocks. But Demetrius was far from growing up actually, he was living it to the fullest.

Demetrius met Fez during middle school and the two of them were practically inseparable. Everything Fez did, Meech did. Everything Meech did, Fez followed. Demetrius didn’t get into the gangs, the dealing, the problems, until his sophomore year. He learned that dirty money was a lot more quicker to get compared to investing, waiting, dealing your cards. With dirty money it comes right to you, with the needles out high and junkies coming to get higher.

His father found out about his side hustle and lost all faith in Demetrius, but instead of confronting him. Arguing, or even talking about it, he ignored it. Hid it from the world, and just like that Demetrius became forgotten to the company and to many people. But hey, his father’s leadership talk did end him up somewhere. He became the leader of Cobra Kings during his first year of college all the while raising his 4 year old son and making sure he was alright.

But back to the person at hand, her. Jaden Art, the golden child. She was Junior chess champion six years in a row, regular chess champion four years in a row. Jaden was never really a people person, she was quiet and shy. She would always freeze when people talked to her and they only found it cute. Jade was everything that her mother and father wanted. A quiet, obedient, soft spoken child. It always took her a little push to talk, to make friends. Andrew ‘forced’ her to be friends with Nate Jacobs. If you ask me, Nate was full of shit since we were kids. If you ask Jade, Nate didn’t become full of shit until eighth grade.

Now Negatively Nate Jacobs being your first friend never seemed good, but he did give jade the push she needed. She met Seven Mckay, from Seven she met two more friends. Sierra and Sekani. Together they called themselves SSS and it just kinda, stuck. Jade was slowly coming out of her shell and needless to say she was proud of herself, she started talking more, smiling a lot, she was like the sun to some people. They could look at her for hours…

Jaden Art continued to be, well her. She was always sweet, never judged anyone. Some would say she was even a saint, others would claim she was just being stuck up. But that all changed when her brother got kicked out of college and was put on house arrest her first year of high school. Demetrius was losing money, he owed people, and he could feel himself slipping at the thought of his family getting hurt. He couldn’t find a solution to move the drugs and money without getting caught until…

“Meech? Are you okay?”

His baby sister, naive and worried. She’d do anything to make sure he was straight. He swallowed a lump in his throat as he picked up a black book bag.

“Hey, can you take this to Fez for me? Make sure you keep your head down and watch everything around you”

Now that should’ve set every red flag off in Jade’s head but she smiled and nodded her head. “Yeah!! Uh!! And we’re gonna watch movies when I get back right?” Demetrius mustered all the courage to put a smile on his face, nodding. “Yeah, Sixteen candles. It’s our day now” Jade took the book bag and walked out of the room, Demetrius watched her from his bedroom window that day. Guilt pooled in his stomach, unknowing to jade, she got herself into the game.

It was like that for two years, every time Demetrius was in gang or legal trouble jade would deliver his things to the buyer, the seller, to whoever. Jade was happy to help her brother, it meant they got to hang out more. And that’s all that really mattered to her, she truly really cared for him. But after awhile, Demetrius stopped needing her help. He stopped coming by, and eventually she rarely saw him. She was lonely in that big house by herself, her mother was too deep in her head and her father was so busy trying to impress his business friends with how beautiful his daughter was.

Jade learned that getting out more was for the better, hanging out with Seven. They even had a thing for each other sophomore year much to his brother’s annoyance. Or, getting high with SSS to even forget everything that burdened her. Now jade hated drugs, she was the goodie two shoes who actually followed the dare pledge. But when she got high that night, she never wanted to come down.

“Holy shit, look at Shante” Sekani giggled seeing the girl pull Seven in for a kiss, his hands couldn’t stay restricted to one place. They went up her hoodie, in her pants for a bit. For a moment she was focused, on him and only him.

Then the high came down and she felt like shit. There were unexplained marks and hickies on her neck and stomach. Seven became clingy and wouldn’t leave her alone. But the very next day, the girl had to do what she’d did best and put on her pretty yellow dress with the bow high on the back. Followed by the mask she always wore and practice so hard in the mirror to make sure it didn’t falter as she prepares to head out with her family to do whatever rich people activities they’d do.

And just like that, that was her life. It was short and sweet, something that people drooled over to have. To me, I could as tell she was a bit miserable. You can always tell, because when the sun shines you can always see the cracks left behind. But that was the beauty of being her, everyone was too blind to see. I wasn’t though, I saw her for her. And I guess that’s why I fell in love…But this isn’t about us anymore. Only her, and the prettiest of sunshine was going to get her wake up call to what such a cruel dark world we really reside in.
