Soulmates

My Nana Week contribution for the prompt : Soulmates.

I'm sorry for the mistakes, English is not my native language. I hope you like it.

Summary :  When I was in high school, I remember girls in my class often talked about their soulmates. Usually they described their boyfriend and I found them stupids. For me, soulmates only existed in books and movies.

When I was in high school, I remember girls in my class often talked about their soulmates. Usually they described their boyfriend and I found them stupids. For me, soulmates only existed in books and movies. These were stories people told each other in hopes of finding that one person who would be their everything.

Then I met Ren and I fell in love. It was the first time that I had felt such strong feelings for someone. These feelings made me happy and scared me at the same time. I remember thinking that maybe we felt that way when we met our soulmate. When a person becomes everything for us and when we become everything for them. But when we broke up, when he got on that train and I didn't follow him, it felt like my world was falling apart. Nevertheless, I had to keep holding on to my dreams. I wanted to sing and nothing could stop me.

It was on this train that we met, Hachi, and that meeting will be forever etched in my memory. Two girls of the same age, who took the same train and who had the same first name. You once told me it was fate that brought us together. Maybe you were right. We were so different and yet I felt like we complemented each other. That's why when I thought I lost you, I was devastated. It was like ripping part of my soul out of me.

You know Hachi, Ren has been the love of my life and I would never love someone like I loved him. But you, you are a part of me. You are my soulmate.

Nana-week 2021, day 1 : Fate

This post is quite personal and dedicated to the dear people in my life.

I used to not believe in fate... I thought it an illusion, a fantasy, something that only exists in fiction...But now I do.

Through the works of Yazawa, I believed there's people out there who are so important to our lives they give it meaning. People who come and change your life, people who feel you, people who stir up your emotions, people with words you frame in your heart and memory. And these people/situations always appear in the most unexpected ways. Like how Hachi and Nana met, how Yukari and Miwako met, or how Midori and Mamirin met. Going from a shy or flustered hello to emotional and heartfelt exchanges of words. From strangers to inseparable soul-sisters <3

We realize fate once it's over...like with Hachi and Nana finally understanding their bond upon reflecting on the past...

Or we realize fate in the middle of our journey, even better once succeeded like Yukari in Parakiss

Fate isn't an instantaneous realisation, but an accumulation of feelings, situations and encounters.

I am grateful for the dear people I have in my life. Dear friends that I treasure, with every interaction and moments hidden in the most precious place of my heart. We are all fated to meet people or be in situations that will change us, that will surprise us, that will stir many emotions. That's what I learned through the mangas of Yazawa, and through life experiences. And that's why I should treasure and live through every moment of it and share my feelings so I don't have regrets

I thank fate for bringing me amazing people and opportunities in my life. Even tho I've been deeply hurt and surrounded by loneliness, it was all worth it at the end...even now... It will be worth it at the end...
