You know something that internet personalities or those with large platforms can do in light of the Writers and Actors striking?

Recommend shows. Be it from last decade or way back in the day. Especially whatever Streaming Services slept on in their Self-Fulfilling prophecy of cancellation. Movies that were slept on also count.

I get that something like that isn’t very trendy or (let’s be real here) algorithmic friendly but at the very least, it can be a direct refutation to those claiming that there will be no more stories to enjoy.

For Anime, Netflix’s Ultraman is a recently completed hype as hell reboot/sequel to the famous Tokusatsu hero. You don’t need to have seen the original to enjoy it as it’s of the son Shinjiro inheriting the mantle with all the catch-up that’s required. It may have the stereotypical CG Anime framerate but other times will have smooth as hell scene, especially for action.

The VAs are union with Steve Blum living it up as one of the villains if that’s a selling point.

Netflix’s Lupin might not have the Anime incarnation we know and love but Omar Sy’s Assane Diop lives up to the OG Gentleman Thief with heists and gambits that can and will make you drop your jaw. Think Sherlock but with a faaaaaaar better sense of story. So far. We’ll see.

Though originally in French, those who might not do well with subtitles might find the dub so good, it might trick you into thinking it was filmed in English.

A Netflix movie, The House, is a British stop motion horror anthology in which three act show the titular house being owned by three separate homeowners. Each one are challenge psychologically and supernaturally, a tone only enhanced by the stop motion’s inherent uncanny valley effect.

While the first two acts end in tragedy and morbidity, the third gives a different sort in comparison. It’s something a lot of viewers come away from with differing interpretations.

Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop... is a bad adaptation... but a good show. I’m sorry but the acting and even the wackadoo script wasn’t not entertaining.

Anybody got any show or movies that streaming slept on and deserve a look-see with the coming slow-down?

But tbh this just looks like Powered with a different body pattern

Tho technically since he has a more rounded face with blue eyes, and if they keep him as lean as say Jack, then his live action suit would still be unique enough to differentiate him from the other Ultraman clones tho

Unpopular Netflix's Ultraman Opinion: Josh Hutcherson was really good as Shinjiro Hayata.

Mind you, there is a difference in performance compared to the other voice actors who are experienced in dubbing either games or Anime. That said, Josh honestly legit felt like an awkward teen thrust into this weird Tokusatsu world he's barely prepared for.

His performance basically felt... purposefully awkward rather than just awkward as Anime dubs have been stereotyped as (because people really can't get beyond the 90s or 2000s, can they?).

Basically, he felt like a celebrity voice casting with a purpose beyond name recognition. Not that Steve Blum wouldn't have been a draw too.

Siamo nel pieno della Geeked Week 2023! Torna il grande evento annuale di Netflix, nella sua terza e abbastanza gustosa edizione, nonostante al momento siano latitanti novità su Moonrise, completamente sparita dai radar, e sulla da poco confermata terza stagione della serie live action di Alice in Borderland.

A proposito di live action, per quelli sto preparando un post a sé stante. Per ora godetevi trailer, clip e annunci lato animazione, che sono quelli che ci interessano di più alla fine, no?

🔶🔸ARCANE

Come vi ho già anticipato a parte - visto che non stavo nella pelle da quanto ho apprezzato la prima stagione, uscita ormai nel 2021- per la seconda, attesissima, stagione della serie che ha dato vita propria all'universo di League of Legends, dovremo aspettare novembre 2024.

🔶🔸MY DAEMON

Primo trailer per la serie originale scritta da Hirotaka “Otsuichi” Adachi (My Capricorn Friend, Summer Ghost, Exception), realizzata presso uno studio taiwanese di animazione in computer grafica.

La serie debutterà il 23 novembre e vi confermo che sarà anche doppiata in italiano.

Annunciato ormai un paio di anni fa, si fa finalmente vedere il nuovo film d'animazione con al centro lo storico supereroe di casa Tsuburaya, protagonista della celebre serie tokusatsu anni ‘60.

Ideata e diretta da Shannon Tindle (sceneggiatore di Kubo e la spada magica), con John Aoshima come coregista, la pellicola è tuttora in programma per un generico 2024.

🔶🔸 THE WITCHER: LE SIRENE DEGLI ABISSI

Cerchiamo di non pensare alla serie live action (povero Cavill, per fortuna ora è passato a Warhammer 40k) e di essere positivi: Geralt torna sul piccolo schermo, stavolta in versione animata, doppiato sempre dal mitico Doug Cockle.

Il film si basa sul racconto "Un Piccolo Sacrificio", che fa parte della raccolta La Spada del Destino e arriverà a fine 2024. Dita incrociate che non macellino pure questo D:

Presentato il primo trailer del nuovo film d'animazione targato DreamWorks, tratto dal libro per bambini di Emma Yarlet.
