Some personal? post (yeah I know I am bi)
Also guys, I am well aware that as a bi woman, I at times might interact with users who have questionable things to say about either women or bi people (or LGBT+ people in general). Or maybe both. There is no need to short-circuit to try and understand my reasoning because it's actually very simple.
First, I do not associate myself with any "community". I do not believe in 'betraying' or 'screwing up' other queer people by effect just because I do not mock or at least avoid those with certain opinions. It is not like LGBT+ is a covenant with certain dogmas and laws that everyone is obligated to follow! In fact, it is queer people believing that this IS the case what causes them to constantly go at each others throats and accuse each other for "harming the cOmMuNiTy uwu". Some infights I've seen were genuinely disgusting and pathetic, as if people see being LGBT+ as a religious/ideological commitment and not as simply 'human beings who are not het or cis or even none of either of these'.
Nor I see myself as a soldier in the army that "fights the same fight" against men. Every other bad thing men say about women I've seen women say about men too, every other bad thing men do to women I've seen women do to men too. Perpetuating the illusion that for men being bad is a rule but for women it is an exception is a terrible practice, and it is for this reason I can 'forgive' most of sexist remarks. Because I consistently let women be like 'men, amiright :/' (unless I am having a petty fandom debate, I do not touch more personal and humane matters) - so men should be allowed to be like 'women, amiright :/' too.
Second, the 'but are not your shooting your own leg?' doesn't work with me because I do not get harmed by people expressing opinions and observations in the internet. The worst that can happen is that I end up yelling at this person and insulting them, if something they say about women or queers just drains me out of patience; and even then, it is mostly my male friends who faced my wrath on the matter at least once, because having heated conflict with a well-familiar person is just more... appropriate?
In any case I do not see the personal gain in avoiding everyone who can say cringe things about my gender or sexuality. It is not something I impose on others because in the internet everyone can curate their own experiences; naturally if I talk with some guys and reblog things from them that I do agree with it doesn't mean all five of my readers should do the same ok? But my great internet space would be being hit with fresh and various opinions every other time.
#internets#politics#humanities#personal#??? sort of#i mean it concerns some things#but also i am speaking as an individual and share my point#rather than say 'this is how everyone else should behave'#still i think that 'communities' based on genders or sexualities are a TERRIBLE idea to begin with#so far they've proven to do two things:#1) grind majority of [identity] into brainlets that are too scared to question the dogmas imposed on them over their identity and#2) spawn ostracized and hostile outcasts that won't connect with either queers nor with cishets so they just... hate everyone.#or they perish.#all because people wanted to find those with similar experiences hahaha!#no but the worst thing about this mindset is how cruel it is to those that didn't fit within it#they can declare a person of the same identity as a faker or a traitor over just questioning their 'internal rules'#which is not a far cry from declaring anyone questioning internal church's dogmas a 'heretic'#but like... even detransistors can't simply return to prev identity. they will still have dysphoria and need to be accepted#like yes technically they're back to being cis but some things don't heal. especially dysphoria.#as for LGB side? they can't just go and suddenly feel comfortable being straight#grinding factories that cast away the gears that spin the wrong side thats what they are.#i actually keep meeting bi people that say they wish they were straight and it is not because of cishet bigots#it is because of how LGBT+ community treats them and what it subscribes them to#naturally it only occurs in western communities (I am in a country where people are still revoltingly concervative and behind the progress)#but still it is very sad :/

Hi, first of all: I love your style, it's very expressive!
You say you've basing some of your Pokemon comics on personal experiences. If that's the case, are you the Jessie or the Delia in your relationship? :3
Thank you!!
I've answered this question quite a bit before, but I'll make it more thorough! I'm the Delia and my girlfriend, Mille, is the Jessie for SURE.
Millie is very extroverted and outgoing. She's a lil hotheaded and stubborn (affectionate) and SO passionate. She loves with her whole heart very deeply. She's worldly, has traveled a lot and is experienced in so many different things much like how Jessie's traveled the world and had many careers.
I'm a little more down to earth and much more of a homebody. I'm relatively quiet and like to keep to myself. I don't think Millie would disagree that I'm a bit more nurturing hahaha.
@miwwiew feel free to add to this

You had felt tired and hopeless for a while now. The once captivating sunsets had lost their enchanting glow, and the islands you encountered appeared indistinguishable from one another, as if you were trapped in a recurring loop. Nobody in the crew had realized how you felt, but there was no one to talk to anyway - everyone had their own dreams and goals, their hopes and their desires.
Surrounded by individuals brimming with enthusiasm, their eyes shining with purpose and ambitions, you couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness within yourself. Unlike those driven pirates who embarked on their journeys to fulfill their dreams, you found yourself adrift without any grand aspirations to chase. Gold? Fame? Wealth? Power? Nothing seemed appealing to you.
One day, under the silvery glow of a full moon, a decision took hold within you. The ship belonging to the Snowland pirates, to which you had reluctantly become a part, had worn on your patience for far too long. The crew showed little interest in forging genuine connections, the laborious tasks assigned to you felt utterly purposeless. It had become abundantly clear that this was not where you belonged.
You had stumbled upon this crew while seeking refuge on the wintry shores of the island called Klaki, your own vessel in need of repair. The charismatic captain of the Snowland pirates had enticed you with promises of camaraderie and acceptance, and initially, you had felt a glimmer of hope as you seamlessly integrated into their ranks. But as the weeks turned into months, the allure had faded into disillusionment.
Now, a full year had passed, and the once captivating glamour had completely faded away. All you desired was to escape this stifling environment as swiftly as possible. You untied one of the smaller lifeboats while everyone was asleep after a full night of partying and alcohol - you chose to escape during full moon, knowing the danger of the light giving away your escape. But it was seldom that everyone was so drunk that they wouldn't realize a missing crew member. You had packed your bag and took a deep breath as you finally started rowing into the night and into freedom and liberation.

As consciousness returned, you were greeted by an overwhelming sensation of thirst. Your dry throat pleaded for relief, while a throbbing ache pulsed through your head. The wet fabric of your clothes clung stubbornly to your skin, as if fused together, and even your hair felt matted and sticky. The scorching rays of the sun beat down upon your scalp, intensifying the discomfort.
Blinking repeatedly, you struggled to focus your weary eyes, attempting to find out about your surroundings and piece together the events that had led you to this disorienting state. Your boat is gone. So was your bag and your shoes. You were laying on the shore, with your face and your belly in the sand, the pain from your head reaching down to your arms and legs. The realization washed over you like a crashing wave - you had become the aftermath of a shipwreck.
"What is this?"
"Rather - who is this? I can clearly see she is a girl and not a thing!"
"Maybe she is a pirate. Then she is dangerous and we should not touch her!"
"Hahaha! I am a pirate myself, dear friend, I do not fear anybody, especially not a small hurt girl like her."
"Is she maybe.. dead?"
With all your might you force yourself to look up, ignoring the pain in your neck, trying to figure out who the voices belong to, which seem to talk about you and your desolated condition.
As your gaze lifted, you beheld the peculiar sight of two small, otherworldly creatures. One stood before you—a man with disproportionately short arms and legs. His moss-green hair framed a face adorned with dark eyes and a beard. Strangely, his body seemed to meld seamlessly with a wooden treasure box. He had no torso, but was stuck in a box.
Beside the moss-haired man, another diminutive figure emerged—a clown who appeared similarly downsized, with short arms and feet attached directly to his neck. Adorned with a hat unmistakably bearing the emblem of the notorious Buggy pirates, this peculiar duo stood before you, their appearances both strange and comical.
The moss-haired man offered a warm smile, his eyes twinkling with an unspoken understanding. Meanwhile, the clown dwarf took a tentative step closer, his eyes reflecting a mix of caution and intrigue.
"Are you dead?" the box man asked.
"I wish I was!" you moan and let your head fall back into the warm sand.

me angry because i didn't get the wanderer sooo lets talk about promotional banners
The reaction of the characters of the promotional banner when getting to know that you want them so bad will depend, but everyone will be initialy flattered some of them are like "of course you want me, im the best/super strong", others are just grateful that the creator want to use them as a vessel. About the wishes, some of them are too flustered to do something so they just anxiously wait for the game to leave them the oportunity to be with you, other as good acolyotes tries to manipulate the game so you win them in one of your first wishes (as soon as posible), in the other hand, others characters are cocky and prideful of it, they LOVE the feeling of being wanted so bad for the creator themselfs so they give themselves to desire, they wait a little to go with you but is for sure that you will have them, also there are some that acts prideful and want to make you wait but they are the ones who can't wait so they go out in your second wish roll
Now, if you don't want them it would be shocking in the bad way, some of them doesn't take it too bad, maybe you have another strategy or their building materials are difficult to get and they don't want to give you troubles, some even understand if you prefer the other banner, they just step back and wait with hopes that in the next time their banner came you find them more appealing (some of them may be passive-agressive with this, of course you can put your wishes on the other banner, you are the creator after all, but don't be surprised if you don't get the characters you wanted ✨😊✨ they obviously aren't having a fight to the death) . However, we have others that will be angry and maybe offended! Why wouldn't you want them!! They aren't 5 stars for nothing, you know! But you are the creator and you have the last word (even when you are making a mistake), they may or may not push some weapons or even the 4 stars characters you already have to be what you win instead of the character you wanted)
××××××
This is something silly based in personal experience, imagine that with one of those prideful characters that want to play around a little and wait until the last minute to go with you, so they push the 4 star characters but surprise! now you use those characters non-stop and even had become your mains!
Hahaha idiot

Penigni Mafia AU
(English is not my native language. There may be strange grammar through translation. forgive me😵‍💫)
———————————————————————
On a rainy night, a luxury car drove through the streets of the outskirts of London. " Oh mio Dio !" Despite Pulcinella's immediate brake, he couldn't avoid colliding with a person who suddenly rushed out. Both rushed out to check. The person on the ground was wearing a patient's gown, looking around 16 years old. Venigni, after ensuring the injured person was stable, examined the injuries. Aside from some scratches, there seemed to be no serious harm. "Please... help me..." Venigni initially thought the boy was referring to the accident, but later learned that the boy was actually seeking refuge. He took off his coat, carefully covering the boy and gently lifting him up. "Pulcinella, let's go home quickly."
———————————————————————
Pinocchio [P] -
Venigni's mysterious adopted son. After a sudden encounter with him due to an unexpected incident, Venigni brought Pinocchio to the mansion and decided to adopt him. Pinocchio, with a talent for weapons, was later trained by Venigni as a professional assassin specializing in covert missions
Pinocchio's true identity is that of an escaped clone. He has no name, only a code. Pinocchio chose this name after meeting Venigni. The scientist Geppetto, desperate to bring back his deceased son Carlo, conducted illegal clone experiments, crossing ethical boundaries. Despite numerous failures, Pinocchio, labeled from A to P, didn't match Geppetto's perfect image. Knowing his impending fate of destruction, Pinocchio escaped the lab, worried about Geppetto catching up. On a rainy night, he sought help from a passing car.
Pinocchio calls Venigni "Papà." Only two years have passed since his adoption, and his understanding of emotions is still blurry. He knows Venigni loves him, but it seems to be a fatherly affection. Mentor, protector, father... Pinocchio has too much admiration for Venigni. He wishes Venigni would love him more. One day, witnessing Venigni interact with a woman, Pinocchio yearns to be her, wanting to be held in Papà's arms, with his attention focused solely on himself.
Lorenzini Venigni -
From a prestigious Italian Mafia family, active across Europe, currently based mainly in the UK. Initially engaged in criminal activities, the family now coordinates various factions from behind the scenes. Venigni, after inheriting the family, shifted to weapons development and arms tradingDuring Venigni's childhood, tragedy struck as both of his parents tragically perished. The culprit was an assassin sent by a rival faction, and he remembered it all too well. That person wore a mask, yet made no effort to conceal their identity. Speaking directly to the young Venigni, they uttered their name without hesitation, "Remember well... Arlecchino is my name." Amidst a pool of blood, the individual laughed maniacally, "I'll be waiting for you... dare to try? Come, kill me, hahaha."
Raised by the butler Pulcinella, Venigni, at the age of 11, became the family head.maybe fueled by revenge, he invented weapons, hoping to create something to torment Arlecchino. Despite capturing the enemies who hired Arlecchino, they had no information on his whereabouts. Venigni believes he is still alive.
Recently, Venigni adopted a young man named Pinocchio after a chance encounter. Learning the boy's story, Venigni decided to adopt him. When asked his name, the boy remembered a fairy tale he read at Geppetto's house, "Perhaps because I'm not the real boy, that's why father won't love me..." So, he named himself Pinocchio, hoping to one day become a real boy.
Two years later, Pinocchio became a professional assassin, assigned secret missions by Venigni. Despite being in this world for only two years, Pinocchio, outside of missions, behaved like a child, curious about everything. Venigni dote on him, but lately, Venigni noticed Pinocchio's gaze becoming strange. When praised for completing a task, the boy's eyes held a hint of longing. Venigni understood that look very well, but he hoped the boy could grow up healthy. What he needed was a fatherly figure... However, one day, passing by Pinocchio's room, he heard a sweet voice, "...Papà... mmm." Hearing this term from the boy, Venigni couldn't ignore it anymore. Should he satisfy his boy, or should he focus on being a good father…?

detention (part 1) [hook x female reader]
Tumblr media
you get a detention and your least favorite person decides to join you. female reader.
warnings: angst, bullying, gossip, middle school trauma, shootings, manipulation, nudes, swearing, suicide, intimidation, bad puns, revoked privilege
this is slightly based on personal experiences and my own schools stupid attendance policy ♡
For the third time this week, you left the house too late. For the second time this week, your car wouldn't start. And for the first time this week, you received a detention.
What a stupid policy.
You'd think school would be the one place where being late is forgiven. People would be kind and empathetic towards you and understand that there are millions of factors going into being in class before 8AM, most of which are out of your control. Right?
Wrong.
Well, surely you'd only have to make up the five minutes of class that'd you have missed? It's not a big deal.
Also, wrong.
Fifty minutes for every tardy after the two "freebies" as they had called it. So there you were, sitting in detention. Detention started at 3:35. If you were late, they sent you home, and you had to serve a second one. You made sure you were there by 3:33, at the latest. There were a few people already there. You sat a table by yourself. Two to a table, please. There came in a few more kids after you. It was a busy day for detention.
"Julia?" The teacher, Mr. Regal, called.
"Here," she said.
"Brittany?"
"Here,"
"Adam?"
"Here,"
"Max?"
"Here,"
"Tyler?"
"Here,"
"Y/N?"
"Here,"
That's when you stopped listening to roll-call.
The aforementioned Tyler sat next to you. Not because he wanted to, but because it was the last open seat available, and he walked in last. Tyler was basically the embodiment of everything a dad wanted his son to be. Young, handsome, athletic, seemingly well-mannered. But to you, he was everything but well-mannered. He was nothing except a cold-hearted devil.
Even though you've been going to the same school your entire life, it'd been hard to make friends. The closed off community you had been forced to surround yourself with was filled with nothing but elitists.
(a/n: see what i did there? imso funny hahaha please laugh)
Your first run-in with Tyler was in first grade. He sat at your table. He took scissors to your hair. When the teacher came over, it looked like you were the one who did it. He never said sorry and was mean to you for the rest of the year. You got your scissor privileges taken away. His friends joined in on teasing you sometime during second grade.
After fourth grade, they stopped being mean to you in your face and spread rumors instead. It earned you a visit to the principals office with police officers waiting for you. A list had been found by a "concerned student" and was brought to the schools attention. The student said he believed it to be you. Except, the handwriting looked nothing like yours. It was messy and gross. Kindergartener-like. You thanked Ms. Aubrey for bringing it up during your visit. You were let go.
Eventually, the teasing and school shooter rumors turned into notes in lockers. Notes with lines of daring you to kill yourself and condemning you to hell. You never reported them. You didn't bother. You had other things to worry about, anyway. Better things, like the spelling bee. You won the spelling bee in 6th grade. Tyler was the other finalist. It felt really, really good. You smiled at him when you won. He just squinted his eyes at you, trying to intimadate you. But nothing could intimidate a world-class champion, such as yourself.
He didn't start bothering you again until the end of 8th grade. He asked you for pictures. You told him no. He still told everybody you sent them to him anyway. You were deemed "too slutty" for anyone to want to be friends with you after that. That was the consensus all the way up until now. Junior year.
Now you were sitting across from the one person who had made your life a living hell for the past 10 years. You didn't even know why. You've never done anything to him. Did he resent you for something? Or was he just trying to entertain himself with the shy kid with a different sense of style? Maybe it was none of the above.
Thoughts like this crossed your mind as you pretended to read a book. You looked at the clock. It was only 3:45. You looked at Tyler. He was already looking at you. You gave him a weird look and went back to fake reading. He slid you a note.
"why u reading that?" it said.
You quietly opened your pencil pouch so as not to draw attention to the highly punishable note-passing. Mr. Regal enforced rules by the book, and you did not want to spend another day here wasting your time. You could hear a pen drop in that room. Any sort of noise would mean certain death.
"i found it in the library," you wrote back.
Tyler was writing some sort of response until a hand snatched the paper away. You looked up with a hint of fear in your eyes.
"Passing notes?" Mr. Regal exclaimed. "You two know better. Especially as juniors. That's another detention for you both!"
If looks could kill, Mr. Regal would be dead on the floor. You had incredibly important napping plans for tomorrow. Tyler probably had lacrosse practice or something sporty like that. You and Tyler looked at each other, but you quickly went back to pretend reading. It was only 3:50 at that point. Could time go by any slower?
You actually started to find yourself interested in the book you were reading, and you quickly got lost in its world. But that was cut short when Mr. Regal said everyone could go. It was 4:25 by then.
You were walking to your car when you heard a voice call behind you.
"Hey!" it said.
You looked behind you.
Here we go.
"What, Tyler?"
"I just wanted to say that's my favorite book you were reading," he said with a slight smirk.
You rolled your eyes.
"Whatever," you said.
You began to continue your walk to the back of the parking lot. You didn't like to park next to others.
He followed you to your car. You checked your phone and the time read 4:32.
"What?" you said, annoyed.
Your back was to your driver-side door. He put his hands on either side of you.
"I just think it's impressive someone like you could read such profound literature," he said sarcastically.
"Shut the fuck up, Tyler. It's literally your fault we have to go back to detention tomorrow," you said.
"You didn't have to answer back," he said.
"You didn't have to talk to me in the first place," you snapped back.
"I wanted to talk to you," he answered.
"I didn't," you said while crossing your arms.
"I think you're a liar," he whispered.
"I think you should eat a dick, bitch," you said aggressively.
The tension was ever-rising between the two of you. Years and years of hate between you both had finally come to its peak. All the while, he had you pinned beneath him, and you had nowhere to go. Your faces were only inches apart. His eyes locked into yours. After a few seconds, you looked away. You'd die if anyone saw you like that with Tyler of all people. Luckily, no one did. He didn't seem to really care. He sighed and walked away.
You got into your car and went home.
The time was 4:56 when you got to your room.
You took a nap, which you didn't wake up from until 6:45 the next morning.
School went by really fast that day. And when you got to the detention room, luckily it wasn't Mr. Regal. It was the principal, Mr. Khan. He was nice and understanding, but a lot of times, he let things fly under the radar. He seemed to only punish people for small things - like being late and note passing.
Unluckily, it was just you and Tyler that day. He sat across from you again.
this got too long so part 2 will b out soon ♡

Hi! I would like to try my hand at making my own ttrpg, but I have NO idea where to start, tbh.
Do you have any tips? Do you know of anywhere to discuss designing this stuff?
Hey that's super exciting! TTRPG design is a ton of fun and can be super rewarding!
So some general advice, based on what I've learned and also have heard from others.
Start small! Smaller than you think! Diving straight into the deep end with a big ol' fantasy heartbreaker is the road to never getting anything done. So scope out something that you know you can finish. Maybe that's a new class or playbook for a game you already like! Maybe it's an expansion or set of new subsystems! Maybe it's an adventure (though adventure writing can be it's own can of worms, but don't let that stop you hahaha)!
If you want to go bigger, maybe look at hacking a system or engine you like! I'm a huge fan of LUMEN as a fun to pick up and experiment with engine. Also, the LUMEN SRD (system reference document) is a very nice set of "how to do LUMEN games", which is very helpful. There's also other open systems/engines/SRDs like 24XX, Caltrop Core, and Breathless that could be great to look into. Powered by the Apocalypse and Forged in the Dark are both fantastic engines/systems to design in, but are also much harder to really get the hang of (and while Blades in the Dark does provide an SRD, it's a good rules reference, but not a great "how to" reference).
If at the end of all that, you decide on making your own bespoke system, go for it! See what happens! Try and figure out the focus on what you want your system to do (generalist games are always harder to make, imo), and then really dig into that. But I think starting with SRDs/hacks/expansions is going to be a way better start than trying to do everything from scratch.
Make something and don't worry about ever sharing it! This is also just general artistic/creative advice, but the first things you make prooooobably won't be your best and that's okay! I have loads of early design material and scraps that will never see the light of day, but working on them I learned a lot! If you do want to share things, it's fine to just share it with friends, you don't need to worry about publishing or any of that. Just remember to stay focused and work towards finishing something, because then you can start on the next thing. And the next thing after that! TTRPG design is a skill that takes practice. You can try focusing on one design idea in one project, and then work on a different design idea on the next to build up your skill set.
Play, read, and run a lot of different games! It's like with writing, the more you read, the better a writer you can start to become. You learn a lot about ttrpg design by interacting with ttrpgs. If you don't have regular groups to play/run things with, then try and read a lot of different games of all different systems and styles! All that you're absorbing is going to give you fuel for your own designs, and sometimes you learn something really cool from unexpected places (like, I could not have imagined the impact that learning about a lot of OSR design stuff would have on my own design, even though I don't consider myself a strictly OSR designer).
Don't worry about what other people are making! This is just the "two cakes meme", but even if you find out someone is working on something similar, it is always worthwhile to pursue your own vision.
This is getting long, so I'll wrap up that section and move on to the second question.
I think there's a pretty solid community of TTRPG designers here on tumblr these days, so you can try getting discussions going here! I also do a lot in various discord groups. I personally really like Plus One EXP which is very friendly to newcomers and has pretty active design discussions (I also publish some stuff in print through Plus One, full disclosure).
Tumblr media
If you're looking for more spaces, asking around there probably wouldn't hurt either.
I'm also always super down to discuss TTRPG design at like, the drop of a hat. So feel free to shout in my inbox anytime!
Best of luck on your journey, and can't wait to see what you do!

Unpopular Hobie takes/opinions
Him and Gwen actually have pretty good romantic chemistry and if it were up to me they would've been canon instead of Ghostflower with Miles having moved on from Gwen romantically and Gwen thinking of him purely platonically from the get-go
But also,they work just as well as found siblings and NOT parent-child because even with the interpretation of adult Hobie,he has Dad Friend vibes,not Actual Dad ones.The one thing i would change about romantic Ghostpunk also is making Gwen a half white afrolatina since Hobie would be poc4poc for obvious reasons
The trope of him being a popular target of thirst on Earth 138 thanks to being in a band is honestly kind of stupid because yes he's objetively handsome as fuck(/platonic)but also he's also a black person living in 1970s England.Speaking from the experience of a biracial homecountry raised afrolatino who grew up with the white side of his family only and went to predominantly white/nonblack poc schools,he definitely gets a lot of comments on his apperance but not positive ones and the best he'll get from most is a backhanded compliment
He dosen't listen to indie music but he loves indie games since part of anti-capitalism is supporting small bussiness and creators
Him and Noir wouldn't be all that close-Obviously they'd like eachother because Noir's based but i can't see him ever being into him romantically,even disregarding that he looks exactly like Peter B which would make dating him So Fucking Weird
He hates being theythemed-No shade to people who headcanon him with any pronouns or do actual respectful nonbinary rep with him but i find the idea that Hobs being nonbinary means he'd use only they/them to be just reinventing the gender binary as a genderqueer person who largely perfers he/him even if he's got they/them in his pronouns set too
He's jamaican(Honestly not entierly sure if this is in unpopular but i looked for content and found only a small amount of posts)
Related to the above,i fucking HATE the weed jokes because oh yeah,of course the jamaican guy is a stoner hahaha NOT you guys aren't funny
His favorite color is pink and that's why he turns pink when he's happiest(Around Miles because babyboy is CRUSHING and around Mayday because again,Dad Friend so obviously he loves babies)
He's not really a sexual person including his humor and tbh i find very creepy how often he's assumed to be based off his flirtations because y'all,Gwen's a MINOR and SO IS MILES and the crop top is to be gnc,stop making it weird,this is a kids movie!Plus that's not even getting into black male stereotypes
I don't like the idea of him and Miles G or Pavitr together because no hate Chaipunk shippers because i truly do think it's a good ship but all the feminization of Pavitr has ruined it for me and it's not helped by me not seeing anything between them in the movie and just casually shipping them and i think it's better if our Miles gets a Hobie and Miles G gets a Ganke seeing as our Miles was robbed of his thanks to the Mcu so it's equal.Also Prowlerpunk shippers are always so fucking goofy,STOP drawing Hobie without his beautiful black features other than his melanin
Him and Jessica have a mother-son relathionship that parallels Miles and Peter B's,including that Hobie has an actual mom but diffinerating in that he actually views her as a parental figure(while Miles sees Peter B as his older brother)-Purely headcanon based but that little interaction between them at the end screamed that they're close so she knows his attitude
Margo is one of his best friend's because obviously she is,i don't even need to explain why and Margobie/Siblings!Punk Byte both have way more of a basis than Noirpunk
His counterpart in Batman crossovers should be Stephanie Brown or Duke Thomas,not Jason Todd because they share some similarities but Stephanie and Duke are almost exactly like him(Including names regarding him and Stephanie and i've even nicknamed her Stephie so there's that)
And also,he's a Percy Jackson and Katara kinnie
Rio and Jefferson would actually fucking love him because guess what,it's stupid and transparently antiblack to automatically assume a black couple would see a black boy who's unbelivably sweet-looking but brand him as a thug who's out to abuse their child just because he's alt and isn't a fence sitter about oppression-In fact,they'd tease Miles about someone as dorky as them pulling someone as cool as Hobie and there should be gags about them loving Gwen as a person but being SO relieved he's not actually dating a white girl

This convo idea came to me. Not seen or stated in convo but, they are in Radio Guard Al's radio tower while he fiddles with his equipment for a broadcast. (Warning from maybe semi graphic description of murder?)
HS!Alastor: So uh asking a totally hypothetical question, one TOOOTALLY not based on any forms of personal experience or what hahahah BUT! Like, if you did, which you know, who knows, maybe you did, maybe you didn't but..uh..umm, again hypothetical, did you ever kill a parent? Preferably, your dad? Again all hypothetical because pfff, who would-
Radio Guard!Al: Oh yeah I did. Not as a child though. It happened after my mother lost her battle against tuberculosis. Nasty thing, attacked the poor things lungs until all that came out of her was a wheeze.
HS!Alastor: Did you not live with him as a child? If you uh, don't mind me asking of course. You can just ignore if this gets too personal hahaha.
Radio Guard!Al:....I did. He walked out on me and my ma when I was...15 or 16? Surprise he didn't do it sooner, the fuc- //clears thorat
Radio Guard!Al: He was...a horrible man. A power hunger monster who seemed the thrive when people were scare of him. A glutton and a hag. He would yell to get his point across and if not that he resorted to threats. You name it, he probably threaten it. All to keep us under his thumb. He find any reason to punish. Any. //deep breath
Radio Guard!Al: But like I said, he walked out when I was old enough I guess. Heard years later he became a born against Christian, HAH. Just more ways to make people fear him I guess, instead of threats with his fist, it was threats of God. Not like his precious Lord did much for him, not after I found him. Fucker didn't even recognize me! I think every higher power I got all of my mother's looks and only the bastard's hair color when I was alive. He didn't even recognize me, not at first, but when he did it was already too late as he was already grasping for air in the baptism water. Didn't kill him at first or maybe it did, but I was so blinded by pent of rage from the years of tyranny I experienced all I could see was red. Took the nearest object...think it was..the chalice you drink wine from and just whaled on him. Didn't stop until the smell of copper hit my nose and I look down and his head was completely caved in. //coughs
Radio Guard!Al: Apologizes, apologizes. I didn't mean to get into too much detail on myself and my fatherly kill. You asked a simple, if not, curious, question and I went a bit too detail. Will add to wrap this up by saying I was lucky enough to be allowed to kill him more than once as you can guess he was sent to hell. So I am one of the few who can brag and say I killed him twice ahah! I do hope that answer you question.
HS!Al: Y-yeah it does, but I have one more, if that is alright...
Radio Guard!Al: Of course! Fire away my little me.
HS!Al: Do...do you regret it? Killing him?
Radio Guard!Al: Regret implies I felt anything towards that monster. The only thing I regret is drawing out his death more, so it may be as torturous and as slow as he deserved.
HS!Al: O-oh,,,
Radio Guard!Al: I believe I hear your Vox calling for you. I do very much apologize if I spook you, but if I may, can I leave you with a bit of advice?
HS!Al: Uh,,,sure! As you said, fire away
Radio Guard!Al: Do not feel like you need to shed tears for that monster nor feel pity towards the what ifs on what he could have been. Men like him, even if given the right tools to change, never will, not unless they know it will benefit them. They are selfish to their cores, and the world is better off without them. You can pity them, you can be anger at them, it's only human. But remember the pain they infected onto you so your heart never tricks you into believing you regret it, because that will only hurt you more in the long run.
Radio Guard!Al: And remember, you have a better head on your shoulders than the most of us. You are nothing like him nor like us, you will go far, child. You will burn brighter than the stars themself. Now run along, don't need your Voxxy worrying into an early hellish grave over ya!
HS!Al: Y-yeah,, yeah! Um thank-you, bye-bye //runs off
Radio Guard!Al, watching him run off: Maybe I have grown soft, or maybe I have just grown fond of the local youth as my time as a stand-in father, but I'm rooting for you. And please...do not end up like any of us,,,
well, this ended angsty oop -⚔️ anon
That was extremely painful but also probably something HS!Alastor needed to hear, harsh but comforting at the same time in its own way

i looove your takes and I think Obi-Wan is a total boymom and based on your posts so do you.
Thoughts on how he feels about anidala? It always interested me and Ive been reading the karen miller clone wars books which have some interesting scenes with Padmé and Obi-Wan
Hiii hey, thank you so much for the ask and your kind words. I'm jumping up and down and wagging my tail. I'm sorry for keeping you wait for so long, life was living unfortunately.
Obi-Wan = total boy mum. Born to be a Jedi, given a son. It's a tough life out there. I'm glad we agree my friend. :))
I'm guilty of reading Tumblr excerpts and not the actual books so I can't say I'm educated on Karen Miller books but I have an idea of what you mean.
My two and half cents:
Obi-Wan definitely knows that something is going on between Anakin and Padme as he is not stupid. I'd say his best guess is sex with feelings/friends with benefits & feelings kind of situation. Feelings are involved. Though he wouldn't imagine marriage in his worst nightmares.
Obviously, he doesn't approve of whatever it is that's happening. It's a distraction to Anakin's duties and unseemly of a Jedi etc. etc. *insert stereotypical Jedi sayings (Obi-Wan would give you a looong lecture not at all influenced by his own traumatic experience hahaha)
At the same time, I think Obi-Wan is to a degree sympathetic. He knows what it's like to love and to live with regret. He wants Anakin to be happy more than anything else in the world. And if it is Padme that brings him that happiness, so be it. It doesn't matter if he personally doesn't agree with it (and he does NOT).
The dynamic between Obi-Wan, Padme and Anakin has always been a funny thing to me. It's so unhinged. The way Obi-Wan and Anakin are chronically attached at the hip and Anakin and Padme are love of each other's life but Padme and Obi-Wan are friendly acquaintances with grievances. Anakin and Padme are married, therefore Obi-Wan is also partly in the marriage but he is put off by love. Is Obi-Wan more of Padme's father-in-law or her husband's best friend? No one knows. In Everything went great AU can you imagine them living all together with twins? Hilarious. I love the Obi Padme tidbits in Mustard Gas & Roses by husborth.
Also it can't feel great when you know your sonbestie is lying straight to your face. Obi-Wan doesn't take it personally but subconsciously I think it sours his view of Padme and anidala a bit. The secret marriage debacle is actively hurting both of their feelings.
Again so sorry for taking so long. I hope I gave a satisfying answer. Love and tail wags.

Well, I lasted three update emails. I was holding out on starting your new fic so I could binge a lot of chapters at once, but after getting the update email today I just couldn’t wait and to no one’s surprise, I loved every minute of it! Such an interesting world you’ve created and it’s only going to get better (for us, for Charles who knows).
I do have to ask since I’m not a fic writer - when you say you’re expecting this to be around 150-180k is that daunting for you as a writer or exciting? Right now you’re averaging around 8,000 words a chapter so with that average that’s around 20 chapters and with possible (please don’t view this as pressure) weekly updates that’s 20ish weeks of fic! I’m always so curious if this seems overwhelming to writers? I know as a reader it’s so damn exciting.
lol can you tell I’m a numbers girl and not a writer?
ah thank you! I'm so glad you're enjoying it, and I totally understand the urge to want to wait. I'm excited you're coming along on the journey anyway!
moving on to your question, I'll try to be succinct but to nobody's surprise I am an absolute yapper so it probably will be a long and winding answer.
I think firstly, you kind of almost explained it yourself, but in the opposite way. I'm a writer, not a numbers girl haha. I personally (though other writers may have different experiences) don't really think about how many chapters it will be, or how many weeks of uploads, so there is really no opportunity for it to be daunting because it doesn't really enter my mind.
The outline I have for this fic IS broken into chapters, but I already am not sticking to it. When I'm writing, I often explore a scene in much more detail (and therefore many more words) that I expected when writing the note for scene. e.g. today's chapter was like "1. Charles goes into pre-heat 2. max claims Charles 3. Pierre shows up" and then it ended up being 10k. I just finished writing chapter 6, which is also at 10k, and I've ended up having to shift half of what I outlined for chapter 6 into chapter 7 because I found a natural end point and I didn't want to end up with a 20k chapter.
so, for me at least, when I write I make a lot of decisions based on my instincts. does this scene need more, or is it dragging? is this chapter complete, or does more need to be added? is there too much in this chapter, and should I split it?
all of which is to say - my estimate of 150-180k is based on how much I have written so far (55k) and at what point in the story am I up to (I honestly don't think act 1 is done yet). I suspect my estimate of 150-180k is very low, and it's not getting to that word count that's daunting, because it's not what I'm actually working towards.
what IS daunting is trying to tell the story itself. are the characters right? are their intentions coming through? am I hiding what I want to hide? do I have a note of plot I've started at the beginning so I make sure I follow it through to the end? working towards answering those questions is what I'm thinking about, and that is always daunting, no matter whether its 10k or 200k (though.... PWP is always fairly mindless hahaha).
but it IS exciting. especially when people love something. I've written a lot of fic in my time, long and short, complete and not complete, and I can absolutely guarantee that the difference between exciting and daunting is how people react. when people love something ... the nerves are there, but they're eclipsed by the sheer joy of knowing you brought a smile to somebody's face with your writing.
not to get sappy, but I whole-heartedly believe that my purpose on this earth is to make people happy through my writing. if I know that I'm doing that, I could write 200k fic after 200k fic and die a happy woman.
I hope that kind of answered your question anon! long and winding, but fairly thorough? haha

How do u make your yearly budget ? I remember you posting about your budget spreadsheet once. Pls I am v interested on how you set it up
I simply must ask if you're the FBI agent in my phone, because I genuinely just sent a message to a friend saying how excited I was it's the end of the month, meaning tomorrow I get to start with a fresh new slate in my budget hahaha
alright let's talk:
I don't do a yearly budget, technically! I budget month-per-month. There are lots of styles of budgets—some allowing for a yearly/more Long Term view—but what worked for my income level was a month-based system.
I lurked on r/personalfinance on reddit for a long while and actually pilfered my budget template from there!
I use this one, which I like both because I've used it for five years and because it's just plain ol' simple. I don't need charts to automatically populate and I don't want to categorize every purchase I make. I just want to see how much money I have per month and how much I'm spending.
That's also crucial to how I personally do budgeting. I don't set aside $X for food and $X for activities and $X for going out or whatever every month. That isn't productive to me; my life looks different every month depending on what's going on. I don't use my budget to be prescriptive; outside of my fixed expenses (rent, utilities, etc.) I just use my budget to track 1. where my money is going and 2. how much of it I have left.
If you want something with a bit more frills, there are lots of other options (one, two, three) on reddit, but I've [personally] found all their bells and whistles overwhelming. If they have useful features you want to use (like, some will have tabs for you to track debt and payments toward it), you can experiment with them, but I don't recommend them for someone new to budgeting.
...I also don't inherently recommend my preferred spreadsheet, either. It doesn't work for everyone. I've shown it to some friends and they almost immediately knew it wouldn't work for them. The reason it works for me is because I am kind of neurotic about budgeting.
To me, "peace of mind" is maintained by having a really close eye on my finances. That means that I track what I spend daily. I manually input every purchase into the spreadsheet. I manually put every paycheck into the spreadsheet. I keep the Google Sheets app on my phone for this very purpose.
That isn't something everyone's willing to do, and there's no shame in that—we all find the different tools that work best for us! But if you don't think you're able to keep up with manually tracking every cent you make and spend, I don't think that this method will be good for you.
If you need more automation in your budgeting, where you can get things autofilled and so on and so forth, I would have pointed you towards Mint, which I've heard good things about, but it's sadly shutting down this March. The article I linked provided an alternate recommendation, but I can't personally vouch for any of those services.
I've been tempted by YNAB a time or two — I like the idea that they intentionally work you towards living off of old paychecks instead of the money you earn month-of [which is a financial goal we should ALL strive for, even though it can be very hard], and I like that they encourage giving every dollar a "job", but you don't NEED their service to do either of those things. I don't like paying money to save money, you know? lol
I keep a secondary, simple spreadsheet with my "rolling funds" in it — money I set aside every month (which I input as a monthly "expense" in my normal spreadsheet) which I allocate to specific funds, like car funds, travel funds... I even had a "hockey game fund" for a few years, haha.
I prefer that method to paying for a service to do it for me. I'm sure YNAB has some nice bells and whistles, and it's clear MANY people love being integrated into their system, which has some automated bits that definitely make budgeting "easier," but I like Ye Olde Spreadsheet. Having to input every purchase keeps me accountable, I feel. Also it sometimes discourages me from spending money, haha, which is probably a good thing in the long run.
idk. I'm a huge advocate for budgeting. I know it can be really hard for some people, but I sincerely think there's some budgeting method out there that will work for you, you know? I credit my budget spreadsheets for keeping my head above water during the many times where money was/is tight. Knowledge is power and all that.
Not to sound like a #girlboss shilling my financial advice on tiktok (of which there are too many), but being aware of where your money is going is sincerely the biggest, most important step you can take towards building financial safety for yourself. My budget saved my ass this last year.
If you have any other questions, shoot them my way. I know it can seem daunting, but I totally think it's worth it! <3

What program do you use to make your fanart? Is it on just an average ipad or is there special ones just for art? Your work looks so good! I’m wanting to try digital art but unsure where to start :)
Tumblr media
I use the Procreate app for all of my digital art! ✨
It should be available on any iPad 💗 I personally invested for my birthday this past year and I have the 12.9" M2 iPad Pro, but I'll even occasionally use my fiancé's iPad Mini and the Procreate app on there in a pinch since it's so small and portable~
The only real difference is that performance might suffer a bit, the larger an art piece is or how many layers your work has, depending on the iPad. But if you're just starting out, I probably wouldn't find that to be much of an issue!
(More rambling about digital art origins under cut ✨)
There's definitely a learning curve, especially if you're more used to drawing traditionally! It can help to still sketch traditionally (if that's what you're used to) and then upload a photo of your drawing to your tablet to work over digitally (this is personally how I started out and I used to just make little digital doodles by tracing and coloring over my traditional sketches.)
Tumblr media
A small doodle from my sketchbook that I traced and colored digitally, from around 2011-2012, I think? Uh, happy Doctor Who day today!
My very first digital art set up was actually a tiny Wacom Bamboo tablet where the drawing space probably wasn't even bigger than my hand, and a super old bootleg version of Photoshop CS2 which was already a version that was 7 years too old for the time (CS5/CS6 was the most updated version by the time I had started on digital art).
Tumblr media
Everyone else in my class had the bigger/fancier/professional-grade Wacom Intuos and I remember my professor taking one look at my baby tablet and just going like "how tf are you drawing on that" lmao.
But still! Experimenting and doing little exercises can get you a long way – I would say to approach it with similar exercises you would do as if you were learning to draw traditionally for the first time.
Shade in circles/nail down basic lighting. Gesture drawings. Random scribbles. Just things that help you get used to the feel of digital art!
Test out different textures you can achieve with one brush, then expand it to see how other different types of brushes can behave and add to the experience.
For proof that even just one brush and not the best/most updated tools can work: these are two of my first more "serious" digital art projects I did in college (with my tiny tablet and mega outdated version of Photoshop) and 99% of the rendering was just done with the "soft airbrush" brush.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But even then, we were taught to create our base sketches traditionally and upload them to the program to work over.
Then one day I decided I wanted to just be able to also do all my sketches digitally and just worked on getting used to sketching straight on my digital program. It was then that besides the all-powerful undo-redo buttons, I started to really make use of the transform/canvas flip/liquify features which I don't think I can live without now lol. (Caveat: I'm now a little too dependent on those features so I keep a traditional sketchbook to do silly doodles in occasionally to exercise my hand because sketching traditionally without the buffer of those digital tools is pretty difficult for me now lol.)
That was a little long-winded, I'm so sorry hahaha. I hope something in this rambling could be taken as somewhat helpful for starting out on digital art!! 💗

I love your Los Brujos in all flavors, they're so much family that annoys and loves each other!
What are your favorite things about the three brothers?
Hahaha thank you! 🥺 i would say over all, my favorite things about them is how silly they are!!
Tumblr media
A lot of their personalities/traits are based on my experiences with people I know, so writing their dialogue feels like conversations with loved ones. 💖
Specifically though, I love Adrián’s mischievousness, I love Manuel’s sensitivity, and I like Víctor’s charisma.

REPLIES TO CONNOR FIGURING THINGS OUT AND SOME UNRELATED WAFFLE!
Tumblr media
First off, I'd like to express my heartfelt appreciation to @mysimsloveaffair @dandylion240 @hurricanesims @bool-prop @simbico @windermeresimblr @oasislandingresident @pixelcurious @simlicious @simsdada @nectar-cellar @percosim @wannabecatwriter @ninjaofthepurplethings @muses-circle @zosa95 @simsdada @parystrange and @anamoon63 for your sweet well wishes on my flu post. I don't think I have ever had the legit flu before, although of course I have had my fair share of colds and viruses, and it really hit me hard. Worst thing was the fever and the loss of interest in everything. I still feel a bit weak and shaky but I'm 99% better. Thank you again for helping me get through it! I love youse all!🤗 Now, on to the replies to my last story post:
@justanothersimsblog
Why lie about it? Just be the supposedly proud you are of being the side piece
Because it matters to her what Connor thinks of her despite her denials. That's also why she didn't have a cigarette on the way over, in case he smelled it on her ;=)
@wannabecatwriter
Truth hurts, especially when someone smart confronts you with it.
This particular situation must be very unsettling for Saffron, who's used to being the smartest person in the room!
@echoweaver
Well, being that she's a high school student, the other explanation would be that he knows his peers would be creeped out regardless of his marital status -- as they should be.
I don't know if that would be a deterrent to be honest- at least not amongst Aussie men. In my experience they would be high-fiving him and offering their congratulations, as vile and depressing as that sounds!
@queeniecook
Hahaha, I love this!
Tumblr media
@oasislandingresident
I am waiting for Saffron to either burst into tears or bust out of there tbh
Saffron bursting into tears would be epic. I can't remember an occasion that she has ever burst into tears! You're probably in a better position than me to remember if it's ever happened, lol!
@simsaralove
There’s no fooling Connor!
Try and fool Perceptive Sims at your peril!
Tumblr media
@ktarsims
LMAO - Deny it all you want because you don't want him to know, Saffron, but Connor's very perceptive. You might fool him into thinking you don't know the guy's married, but he's certain of his facts. (He's right, too.)
Also I get the feeling that once Connor has made up his mind about something it's virtually impossible to get him to budge!
@sweetnovember77
First of all, it’s none of Connor's business. Saffy, you do not owe Connor an explanation. Most, if not all, of your mistakes can be excellent learning opportunities. If Connor wants to be with you, make him earn your love. —Not badger you for it. He needs to back off.
Except they are playing Truth or Dare so she kind of agreed to be badgered when she signed up. I think one of the underlying rules of Truth or Dare is that you don't participate in anything that makes you uncomfortable and hopefully Saffy would understand that. And I totally agree that mistakes can be excellent learning opportunities, except Saffron hasn't yet realised that she has made a mistake...which is going to be potentially disastrous.
Tumblr media
@kscriba
In a vacuum, if I didn't know Saffy, just based on her answers I would assume it's a sugar baby situation LOL
This made me guffaw! I really can't imagine Saffy being in that kind of situation though because she is so strong-willed and independent. I could actually imagine her being a sugar mama though once she becomes a wealthy and successful lawyer!!
@muses-circle
I can't decide if Connor is honestly interested in Saffron and going about it the wrong way, or if he's doing this to be a smut jerk. He's totally right (and the truth hurts), but at the same time, Saffron's there to hang out...right? IDK, something about this feels off.
I think the first line is true! It may not be immediately obvious because of his good looks and privileged aura, but he is definitely lacking in key social skills. But he does genuinely want to get to know Saffron better.
@batsheba
Busted! Me thinks Saffy do protest too much. Maybe she's a tiny bit embarrassed of the relationship or that Connor so easily figured it out?!
I also think she knows she is protesting too much but feels temporarily powerless to stop herself! Connor has really gotten her flustered. And she feels torn between wanting to stay and being scared she will expose herself further.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WAFFLE:
So I've been reading some of the comments posted in response to that aesthetics poll, and people have had some very interesting and diverse opinions. Here are a few of my thoughts.
As a storyteller my primary focus is on my writing, and editing my screenshots comes a very distant second. I have to confess though I once did try to download Reshade, around the time Sims 4 was released because as a Sims 3 blog I was hemorrhaging followers and I thought I had to up the ante as far as my screenshots were concerned to stem the flow. Anyway it froze not only my game but my entire PC, and I was so scarred by the experience I never tried again. I have never owned Photoshop either. I use Picasa and Pixlr to edit my pics and I'm generally happy with the results although I am envious of certain Simblrs who manage to combine lush photo editing skills with engrossing storytelling! But if anyone ever came into my ask box and criticized my screenshots I would reply that virtually all my creativity is expended on my writing, sorry, and if you're not following me for my Sims story you may want to reconsider that decision!
I'm probably not typical of most of the community either because I don't *get* a lot of the aesthetics that garner hundreds of notes. For content to resonate with me it has to touch something emotional, and a picture of a Sim with no context just isn't going to do that for me no matter how amazing and beautiful the edit. I'm here for Sims stories, and legacies and gameplay that communicate the lives and loves and all the idiosyncrasies and quirks of our Sims, no matter what iteration of the franchise you're into!
i'm SO bad at making money in stardew valley but i'm SO tempted to get two purple turtles and name them donatello and viola-chan [cries]
i did name mine donatello, and i can confirm that it's SO satisfying. so you have two choices.
one is to take your time, the money will come eventually, etc etc, honk shoo honk shoo
two is to abandon all morals, embrace T H E M A C H I N E, and get your fuckin turtles. i'll give you a few tips based on which skills you like the best so you can gear towards those! i'll rank them in order of most to least efficient in terms of gameplay hours, in my experience. under a cut because i have almost 2k hours in this game And i read the wiki for fun. of course you can do, like, the non coconuts version of these suggestions if you're looking for something more low-key hahaha
farming: this is the biggest money maker hands down. if you have the island unlocked, fill that thing with as much starfruit as you can afford. go to the desert and plant a bunch of oak trees, then tap them so you can get a bunch of oak resin. in the beginning, you can sell as many starfruits as you need (unprocessed) in order to buy up more seeds; otherwise, keep them for processing into wine. start filling up your island farm that isn't farmland with the kegs. fill them up as you make them. sell the wine. you can make hundreds of thousands in a week doing this once you start scaling up and fill the entire farm. you can also do pineapples or ancient seeds which over time will be more profitable since you don't have to buy the seeds, but i find these take a lot longer to get started, so i personally prefer the starfruit. you can also just sell the unprocessed starfruit as it is, and it'll make you coconuts amounts of cash, but it's less efficient than turning it into wine. also, dont worry about aging it. that takes way too long for it to be your sole money maker.
sleeping: on the left side of your island farm, plant a fairy rose. then surround it as much as you can with bee hives. if you do this a couple times, you can get some serious cash by doing literally nothing but passing time.
mining: skull caverns runs where you farm iridium are pretty bog standard in speed runs. first thing to know is that the desert trader will swap jade for staircases on sunday. you'll get a crystalarium out of the community center bundle for the vault; put a jade in it as soon as you can. scale this up as quickly as you can, then get as many staircases as you can. next, you'll want to block pam's door with a chair so she gets to the bus a little more quickly. then have some coffee (or triple shot espresso if you can) on hand, and some luck food (think spicy eel, that sort of thing.) get as many bombs as you can make (or explosive ammo if you can afford it). staircase down as far as you can, then start blowing shit up. don't worry about the enemies. you're here for M O N E Y not glory. salads or gold-star cheese are good foods to keep on hand to keep your health up. magnetism is very important here, so you'll want to have either a magnet ring, a glowstone ring, or an iridium band equipped. come back, smelt all your iridium up, and sell it. you can also do this with radioactive ore when you get there, but it's a lot less reliable than this method. plus you'll get a bunch of other stuff in skull cavern to sell, too.
animals: pigs are the most efficient, though also the most labor-intensive animal. they'll find truffles, and with the farming boost of 40% to artisan goods, it's always profitable to turn them into oil. especially with the new blue grass, it's easy to get to where each pig is finding you several truffles a day. you can also do goats for their cheese and age it in the basement, which is a pretty decent money-maker. ostriches are quite good as well, once you unlock them. i usually have one barn filled with ostriches, and another filled with all the other animals. coop is pretty lackluster in my opinion, best filled with rabbits so you can get lots of feet for gifts.
fishing: so this can actually be a pretty good moneymaker now that 1.6 has buffed it quite a bit. the best way in my opinion is to make some lava eel bait, go to the top of the volcano, fish up lava eels all day, and smoke them. you can make a good chunk of cash this way. also crabpots are very underrated, especially if you have either an ocean of bait makers and the perk to get rid of trash (not my preferred method since i use the trash to get refined quartz), or the perk that makes it so they don't require bait and thus you just collect that good shit every morning. (sidebar, this is a really good way of getting fish for deluxe fertilizer if you're a crafting-type person.) fishponds are.... not great? tbh? so unless you're looking for something very specific (like caviar, the spicy eel drop from lava eels) i don't really bother with them much anymore.
combat: find the new parrot trinket. try to get at least level three if you can, though obvs. the higher the better. pop on some monster musk, go in the mines (best is the dangerous skull cavern mines since that has a 2x monster spawn rate, but if you aren't there yet, i recommend levels 55-70 of the regular mines since those have sprites which are Hella easy to kill, drop coal, and there are a metric shit ton of them), and farm away. this is easier if you use the hammer style (acrobat+artful+3x ruby enchants), as you can abuse the special attack and get massive aoe damage. with the parrot, he picks up a bit of money from time to time, more as his level goes up. you can make some Serious cash doing this. plus selling the drops, things you mine up, etc.
foraging: i..... tried for a long time to think of a good way to make money with foraging. i suppose technically the tree saps would be foraging? and they're.... okay? you could sell wood and hardwood but it's such a waste considering they're so important in crafting. if you're the kind of player who likes to spend all day wandering around the valley looking for forageables, more power to you, but pick one of the passive ways to make money and then have fun doing this. if you want two purple turtles, it's going to take you Years to do it through foraging.
