So I mentioned in the tags of this post about Sampo's character design the other day that looking at his splash art made me realize something sneaky about the bg and oh my god I thought I already couldn't possibly love him any more than I already do but this might just prove me wrong JAKSLFJKDLASJFK

So this is maybe? old news by now but I remember when Sampo was first leaked to be in Penacony, some fans were excited saying that it must be Penacony shown in his splash art, and not Belobog. And tbh I was trying to avoid story leaks, so I just kinda ignored it and didn't think about it any further...until I was looking at it to look at his chains.

But I think it IS Belobog shown here because if you look closely, you can see what looks to be a pile of snow in the bg, and even some on the rooftop! And snow isn't present on Penacony.

There's also the huge moon shown behind Sampo. And we never get to see the Belobogian night sky, but even in the hours that are locked in permanent nighttime, Penacony noticably lacks a moon. The buildings all look like they match Belobog architecture, too.

This one is a bit more questionable tbh, but. There's also this long horizontal structure in the bg-

-which I'm not 100% sure what it even is, but it doesn't look like any specific part of Penacony. But it DOES look like the official art of Belobog (everyone say thank you to @/the-astral-express-archive for these pics; dude you're a lifesaver orz)

And if you will notice. The only place up high enough to look down on those structures,

the only thing taller than all the rest of the buildings in Belobog,

is the one establishment set dead center; Qlipoth Fort.

Which means this little asshole is shamelessly, gleefully breaking into the most important government building on the whole planet right in his splash art KFJLJSADKLFJKLDSJ

I'm gonna make one last post about this topic to get out everything from my system:

Tommy fans seem all to eager to bury his past and talk about his growth when this curtesy is never extended to female love interests (and Ana, Ali, Natalia and Marisol never acted anywhere close to how he did in the begins episodes). He was absolutely terrible to Chimney and then only stopped pretending he's not invisible when Chimney saved his life. Even then he gave no apology, just a thank you and decided to move on as if his past behaviour haven't happened. And then he acted the same with Hen - pretending she's invisible and making little side comments (I'm not saying only he did that, the everyone in the old 118 is guilty of this) and he and Sal only decided to respect her and actually aknowledge her when she saved made a choice and saved someone's life, who would have been dead thanks to the old captain. And there was no apology to Hen either. The old 118 was a backwards and regressive place, but this an explanation to his behaviour not an excuse.

People can argue how not everything needs to be shown, but I feel like it's hard to make amends when the other party is not even owning up his own behaviour enough to even apologise to the people he hurt with his behaviour.

The date with Buck was also not a great first queer experience. Having your date tell you how he understands working in a macho line of work and not being out to calm your anxiety, than make little side comments when you're not ready to come out to your best friend who just showed up by coincidence is not cool. (As a queer person, I don't think Buck put Tommy back into the closet, it wasn't like Eddie knew they were on a date or Tommy is gay and yeah maybe the finding hot chick comment was unnecessary, but Buck was anxious long before Eddie showed up). Also I get why Tommy wanted to leave, but not telling until the Uber pulls up is also a shitty thing to do. Natalia also leaves Buck and people seem to hate her for it, but she comes back.

Also the Evan thing and calling Buck kid. I hate both things. Calling your date kid is weird and just why would you do that? And I know that Tommy calling Buck "Evan" is supposed to be cute, or special, but it just gives me the ick. It's not his prefered name

Also telling Buck how he's jelaous of the family dynamic of the 118 and then going for a kiss is certainly a choice on the part of the writers.

Tommy is character who had little to no development during the show - yeah they seem friendly in the Bobby begins episode, but do you want to be unfriendly to the guy who works with you and finally decided to not be a dick? and we're just supposed to believe he was always a good guy, who only acted the way he did because the old 118 was old school and he was figuring out his sexual identity?

He's not a character with good development or layers, he's a character who was a plot device to show how horrible work places that are considered macho to poc and women, and now they decided to bring him back for some reason as a first queer experience to Buck and act like him being gay excuses how he acted in the past

grimmichi isekai fic. but actual isekai and not just ichigo’s casual world-hopping in brave souls. classic lit major ichigo — overworked and Suffering because he’s nearing the end of his program and his professors don’t seem to understand he works two jobs and he has to start figuring out his future because holy shit he’s an adult now — gets a visit from truck-kun and winds up in this wild fantasy world divided into warring factions, the hollow beast tamers, the holy saints, and the ruling class aka the empire of death. he incarnates into the body of Zangetsu, a mercenary with quite the fucked up lineage, and almost immediately gets on the bad side of one of the tamers’ captains, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, who may or may not be contemplating how best to let his hollow beast, Pantera, make a meal out of Ichigo.

bonus if Ichigo follows the route of some isekai MCs and tries to find a way home (his sisters are back there, dammit, he’s not leaving them) only to discover somewhere down the line that he and Zangetsu switched bodies, neither of them actually died, and Zan’s out there living his best life in the modern human world and probably traumatizing all of Ichigo’s friends

your tags are the eeverything ever im on my laptop so i cant sc them and add them to the post but believe me i would and if i remember later i will. youre so fucking RIGHTTT its the condensation of the story into LORE into 'big streams' or episodes and in part thats bc of how the fandom treated lore and how it got turned into a big Thing that has to be very Streamlined and its a Lore Stream (yet they wont. plan it 😭) and Aurgghhh its pretty sad. but atp id rather actually see season four retconning than have to sit through another HUGE EVENT ON THE DREAM SMP!! (DEATH) (DRAMA) and then have no follow up on it

TBH I feel like everyone being busier definitely contributes to that bc like the Burger Plotline was supposed to be several streams over which we would likely have gotten a lot of little moments and interactions that showed us a lot about the characters and that had to get condensed to a WRITTEN STORY...

So it would not surprise me at all if there was supposed to be a lot more in-between but it kept getting condensed into five streams, then three, then One Big Stream simply because it's so hard to get everyone together now. Like that's why I think they need to be wrapping things up because if it's that much of a hassle to get multiple people on the server at the same time then the thing that made the story so interesting is sort of already gone at this point? Not that it was only interesting because people streamed Daily but like, that sort of "improv lore" that Tubbo always says he misses can't really come back because nobody is ever online enough for it (and when I say Nobody I mean rarely any people that have been here long enough for c!Tubbo to have history w them)

So like I do think part of the reason that lore has been so sparse is because of scheduling, it isn't Only that but what could have been several streams gets condensed into one huge stream where so many things happen that there isn't really time for the characters to react properly and we don't get to see any of the aftermath because they don't log on... In a story about grief and humanity we aren't getting to see c!Tubbo grieve or be human much at all, because if he logs on it's either for Lore that has a clear goal in mind and not a lot of time for us to see into his mind or it's just to mess around and we don't get to see his character's thoughts/emotions then anyways ...

There is nothing wrong with "big event" lore streams but at some points it sort of seems like events are planned just for the sake of having a "big event" happen and not because they actually make sense for the characters involved.

Idk I know it's easier said than done but if Wilbur has sat down and written out an ending that he's slowly working his way through at like 1-2 streams per month I feel as though others should look to him as an example, like I wish they would sit and genuinely assess "How much fun am I genuinely having doing lore CURRENTLY (not in the past), how much free time do I have right now/am I expecting to have," & make a decision based on that

#^ also w the Improv Lore thing... ppl have said before that it was a lot easier to do in the beginning of the server when ppl didnt have a #ton of characterization yet and thats very true. but also I feel like the term ''improv lore'' has sort of been twisted into something it #isnt. like c!Eret's betrayal wasnt improv lore. cEret and cWilbur planned that. So now that I've finished at Devil in Ohio...I do kind of feel sorry for Suzanne for getting played, but also. Fuck am I not blaming Mae. The irony is, while I usually don't like teen drama, I was actually more invested in her dynamic with Jules for a good part of the show than her dynamic with Suzanne - I actually thought they'd up something far more drastic (like that she would completely absorb her personality or something and really destroy each other) - but after the Halloween episode, I felt like it was no longer really moving anywhere interesting anymore and a lot of the tension in the Mathis' family felt really constructed and one-sided.

And really, Mae did what she had to in the end and won. Is all. Ain't even mad.

#Devil in Ohio #also I'm glad that it didn't go where I thought it was going for Suzanne and her husband #(ever since they started arguing I was sure that they were going to have her sleep with Lopez or or something like that.) #but yeah. I think it's a solid show but nothing about it is really stand-out. For the first few episodes I often felt like... #it was constantly starting? so one of my maladaptive daydream worlds is like, post apocalypse? it's comforting to me for some reason idk but earlier i was like raiding walmart for supplies after the disaster and when i walked thru the clothes i was like "omg, vintage!! soo cute <3"

#can i talk about it? im going to actually i dont care #so in this world basically there was a giant earthquake and then everyone on earth fell asleep. like sleeping beauty #we all slept for abt 200ish years while civilization crumbled nature took the cities back buildings burned down #scavenger animals ate some of the sleeping #others burned or drowned or were crushed in collapsing buildings basically pretty much everyone died #peacefully and painlessly in their sleep #but how the dream goes is basically i wake up in this world completely alone #i always start at the beginning just after i wake up #and log everything i do and find on a tape recorder #i explore the ruins of the world and admire nature and scavenge whatever old tech still works #i manage to get an old car working and just explore the world #its strangely soothing #one time i got really far in the plot and was rescued by aliens who told me that what happened to my planet was bc #we got caught in the crossfire of a space war #they took me to this planet that was basically like a shelter for victims of the war and i got assigned a little house #it was like a socialist society very cool and all my neighbors were aliens of all kinds and i got a little alien office job #i didn't really like that plot though it felt kind of too final. it didn't go anywhere
