Watching Notorious (1946) and... whoo. There was some subtext in this film that I did not catch as a teen.
When they said Cary Grant was "the blueprint" I didn't fully appreciate that it was as the incredibly dommy enemies-to-lovers, intimacy-or-die, fake/pretend relationship (and then subversion) leading man.
I'm so into it. O gawd.

cary grant and ingrid bergman are very good together but devlin pisses me off so much that the romance in notorious mainly serves to distract me from the enthralling "secret nazis hiding uranium in the wine cellar" mystery. "ohhh i dont want to marry claude rains to get information out of him because cary grant is going to think im a tramp" i dont CARE fucking DO IT i thought you were a PATRIOT
