#nox's island

*sneaks through the castle, avoiding guards, traps and patrols*
She slowly comes out of the shadows from behind him seeming to materialise from them.
Why hello there, what's with all the sneaking about hmm?
Most creatures would be scared stiff suddenly being in the spirit realm, or were you not aware of the gateway in the ancient structure on my island lead there?
But welcome I guess, and don't worry you are still very much alive. Think of my castle as a in between for both the living and spirit realms to interact.
Though I guess since Spiritvein saw fit to let you even find the island your intentions are not impure, unless you got here via alternate means?
(Mod: Also fun little fact! all Nox's guards are a mix of creatures of every race, both of the living world and supernatural. quite a lot of them were outcasts she had taken in and has given a safe place to stay!)

🌱, 📖, and 🌺? :3
🌱 An unreleased/not-yet-crowdfunding game I’m looking forward to.
Okay, so my number one answer is REDACTED, and I can't actually talk about it yet. But, of some of the games I've recently backed or am waiting to see launch;
Deathmatch Island looks so slick. I've been following along on the graphical development that the creator's been sharing on twitter for a long while now, and I'm super excited to eventually try it out (semi-related, but Tim Denee, the creator, has also been sharing sneak peeks of a Blades '68 alternate setting that looks equally slick). I think Tim has a tumblr here, but I am blanking on the url...
Tumblr media
A second close runner up is Ave Nox from @feralindiecharlie. Everything Charlie does absolutely shreds, so I cannot wait to see this megadungeon.
Tumblr media
📖 My favorite class or playbook from a game.
The Hungry from Apocalypse Keys by @temporalhiccup! All the playbooks from AK are killer (cannot wait for people to get their hands on the stretch goal playbooks too, they rule), but I had an especially fun time playing the Hungry.
Tumblr media
One thing that's so cool about the AK playbooks is how flexible they are in allowing so many different concepts and takes on the same idea. Like, the Hungry could easily be a classic vampire, but I played a monster inspired by Sandman's Corinthian. He was an ancient nightmare that ate other dreams. The Hungry is all about grappling with this terrible power; fighting against it, giving into it. It's so much fun sometimes being truly wretched 😌
You can check out a this video to see me play the Hungry if you're curious;

🌺 A game with stunning layout or visual design.
Orbital Blues from @soulmuppet! Both layout and visual design are stellar. Pun intended. Lone Archivist (who has incredible graphical assets you can pick up on itch) did the layout, and Josh Clark did the art. Together, art and layout absolutely sells the vibe of the game. A dusty, kind of lonely, space western. I'm just gonna let a couple of spreads do the talking now.

So, I'm not too sure what's going on, but I think I need advice? And don't say anything to my dad, about this okay?
So he found a lil' Seedot- [*Photo of said seedot, with some bandages around it's head. It seems like the cap on it's head is a bit cracked, and it has a small burn mark on it's side. It is currently nestled peacefully next to Ceres, who is keeping the seedot warm with it's feathers.*] -And he like... keeps talking to it?
Now, I'm no stranger to speaking with pokemon- I can talk to ghost-types for arc's sake, and because of this, I can tell they understand each other. Plus, I've never seen dad do this before...
He says it has to do with being a chosen of Tapu Bulu, or something (?) but, he won't elaborate. I tried sligoogle searching answers and nothing came up.
So uhh, anyone from Alola: Can Kahunas talk to certain pokemon types or something? I know seedot's eventually evolve into dark-types, but it's just a grass-type right now. Even then, I don't even think dark-type trainers can talk to mons of thier type either (like how ghost and psychic type trainers and mons can).
Uhh so yea, any help is appreciated. Thanks~

Buddha headcanons with Muichiro!fem!reader
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
warnings: spoilers, ooc, reader is aged up to early or late twenties.
In all honesty if Buddha did not have a love for sweets and cloud gazing, he would not have met his significant other: [First Name] [Last Name], the Mist Hashira.
Most of the gods were unaware that he even had a lover, and he planned to keep it that way. It was not because he doubted the Mist Hashira’s love and devotion towards him, rather he knew that the other deities would try something if he wasn’t around. Right now, they couldn’t afford to have too much attention on them.
By being in a relationship with a Demon Slayer who is sworn to never engage in a relationship with anyone belonging to the divine pantheons, Buddha had to tread carefully when he or both of them weren’t lounging underneath his bodhi tree. He might have Brunhilde’s blessing, but that would not stop Hades from trying to replace the Mist Hashira as soon as word got out that one of his rules had been broken.
After the Bifrost had been destroyed by the human named Nostradamus, the king of the underworld employed the Demon Slayer Corps to ensure the protection of Valhalla’s denizens. The organization had prided itself on being efficient and possessing powerful humans in their ranks who have gone toe-to-toe against Muzan Kibitsuji’s Twelve Kizuki, but presently they were running thin on available members due to a rise in demon sightings. That was part of the reason why [First Name] traveled frequently or stood guard in Helheim as soon she received a summons via her crow.
Buddha knew the job took a toll on her health, even if her face didn’t show it.
“Is it really a lot…to ask for more days like this?” [First Name] said one sunny afternoon, laying on flat on her back next to the honored one in the grassy field as she gazed up at the misshapen clouds shifting in the blue skies. “Being here on this little island, not worrying if your next assignment isn’t the one that’ll send you to Niflheim for good, or what you could have done but didn’t do?”
“It’s not, petal.” Buddha murmured, his calloused fingers weaving through [Hair Color] tresses before pressing a kiss on her forehead. “It’s not.”
Cuddles and meditation sessions are an absolute must once a mission is completed, no ifs, ands, or but’s. Mental health is important. Braiding each other’s hair won’t happen until much later on in the relationship, but it is definitely worth it.
This bond between two unlikely individuals took a long time to build, but the result is Valhalla’s chaotic power couple who adore each other and only show their vulnerable, softer side when alone. Like a pair of grumpy cats who don’t like anyone except for one person that gives them attention and treats when they want it.
Bonus Content:
Nothing warmed Buddha’s heart more than hearing his Mist Hashira talk shit to any god comes between them and a sweets shop. Especially when if she says ‘shaddup’ with that spaced off look on her face~.

Prompt 1 - Rugby
@jegulus-microfic March 1 Word count 999
This is a continuation from last month.
Previous part First part
James took his hand, and they entered the cave. It was black as pitch in there. The light from outside barely illuminated the entrance. They carried on towards the back of the cave with their wands lit.
“There’s a safe house in Rugby set up for us to go to once we have whatever’s in there,” James said as he inspected the cave wall.
“It’s just a cave.” Regulus peered around the gloom, looking for any sign that there was more, only half listening to James’s words.
“It’s not. Can’t you feel that?” James had lifted his hand to the back wall. “There’s dark magic here.” Regulus moved closer and pressed his hand next to James’s on the icy cold stone.
It was too cold. Colder than it should have been. He closed his eyes and felt the dark magic marbling through the cave wall.
“You’re right,” He took out a small dagger and sliced a long, thin line down his palm.
“What are you doing!” James watched, horrified.
“It’s blood magic. You need to give blood to open the secret passage.”
As soon as the blood touched the wall, a cracking groaning echoed around the cave as a secret passage opened before them.
James grabbed Regulus’s hand and performed a simple healing spell to erase the cut.
Before them lay a huge Cavan, so tall their wand light was lost.
They stopped before a vast lake that covered most of the cave floor.
“Nox,” Regulus whispered, extinguishing the light at the end of his wand before casting another spell that shot a glowing orb of light into the darkness above them. It lit more than their wands had.
They could now see an island in the middle of the lake. “Kreacher said there’s a boat somewhere along here.” He walked along the edge of the water until James yelled.
“There’s something here!” They grabbed ahold of the invisible chain and pulled. It was just as icy cold as the cave wall had been. Regulus tapped it with his wand, and the thick chain appeared before them, attached to a tiny boat.
They carefully got into it and waited. Nothing happened. Regulus tapped it and tried a few spells, but nothing.
“I think it’s because there are two of us.” They were cramped in the boat it was clearly made for one.
James pulled something out from under his robes and swung it around himself, disappearing. The boat started moving. James’s invisibility cloak had hidden enough of his magical power to trick the boat into magically escorting them across the mirror-still water. James tried to see the bottom, but Regulus pulled him back.
“Kreacher said to be wary of the water.”
The boat bumped gently against the island, and they clambered out.
They climbed up the steep slope to the top, where a basin stood filled with a glowing green potion. Sitting at the bottom was a locket.
“Kreacher said I need to drink it.” He walked forward, took a small goblet out of his pocket and scooped some of the potion into it. James grasped his wrist before he could take the first sip. “James, I have to. It’s the only way to get the locket out.”
“No, Reg, there has to be another way. We don’t even know what it is, what it does.”
“We do know what it does. It causes pain. James, I must drink it all. Even if I beg you, I can’t. You have to make me.” James looked deeply into Regulus’s eyes, his jaw quivering. His hand tightened momentarily on Regulus’s wrist before he let go and nodded.
Regulus took a sip. It was icy fire coursing through his body. It was as if someone had hit him with the cruciatus curse. He yelped but drained the goblet and refilled it.
Again and again, he drank. He was starting to see things in the shadows. His mother and father loomed over him. Sirius on the night he left Grimmauld Place. A fake James telling him he hated him. If James hadn’t been stroking his back, he’d probably have fallen for the fake James’s words and broken down.
He dropped to his knees, unable to stand any longer. James took the goblet from his hands and refilled it. Regulus drank and drank and drank, and just when he thought if he drank another drop, he’d break from the pain, it was over.
“Reg—Reg, you did it. We have the locket.” James exclaimed.
“I’m so thirsty, James.” Regulus croaked.
“You can have all the water you want as soon as we get out of here. You just need to wait a little longer.” James said soothingly as he transfigured an old necklace of his mothers into a copy of the locket they had just taken.
He was putting it in the basin and watching the green potion refill when he realised Regulus was no longer at his feet. “REG NO!!!!”
Regulus dipped his hand into the lake, and the water erupted with movement as though it was boiling.
Inferi crawled to the surface, grabbing at Regulus. James rushed forward and dragged him away from the water’s edge. The Inferi kept coming. James panicked and threw the invisibility cloak over them. The Inferi paused, unable to tell where they had gone. James shuffled them into the tiny boat and waited for it to move. But it didn’t. It didn’t know anyone in it. James made a decision. He put the locket into Regulus’s robes and removed himself from the cloak.
The Inferi surged forward again, grabbing at the boat and rocking it.
“Incendio—Incendio—Incendio!” James cast repeatedly. It kept them away for seconds before the hands crawled back along the boat’s sides.
The boat crashed into the side of the bank, throwing James into the damp sand. He scrambled to his feet as the hands scratched at his ankles. He grabbed hold of Regulus and fled the cave, leaving the inhabitants far behind.
