What if I did a western/cowboy obikin au, where Obi-Wan comes to America with his wife, Satine, and they set up a homestead. Only to have it raided by outlaws known as Death Watch, and Satine is murdered.
So Obi-Wan takes the law into his own hands, hires a gang of outlaws himself (Anakin and Co) and goes after the gang
What if?

hi! i’m not really sure how to phrase my question, but it’s meant in good faith because i’m genuinely curious; what is it about obikin that you like so much? a fellow star wars fan i’ve been chatting with (who i. probably won’t be anymore after the conversation that prompted this because it was uhhh Intense) kinda jumped down my throat when it was brought up? in a “how could you not like this” way, even though all i said was that my opinion on the ship itself is neutral leaning towards uncomfortable. and when i asked them what they like about the ship, they didn’t really give a concrete answer? just that it’s the best star wars ship. but it got me wondering why other people like obikin, and you’re one of the people i feel more comfortable asking. so here i am. thanks in advance, and thank you for the lovely blog you run!
—🌻
Hi! I'm sorry that you're going through that, friends have to be able to accept that they're not always going to share everything and be able to respect each others' boundaries, that you may never like it and that's okay, that they do like it and that's okay, and if it comes down to it, that you both just find other things to talk about if you don't see eye to eye. As for what I like about Obikin, there's always just going to be a degree of, "Well, because I just do." to it, like why do some people like pizza? Why do some people like cheeseburgers?  They just do, something in there lights their brain up and they love it.  I say this ahead of time because it’s okay that sometimes we just don’t like a thing, no matter how well or poorly it’s done, like I will just never really be into westerns, doesn’t matter how good they are or bad they are, how much someone articulates what they find fascinating, they just don’t light my brain up. That said, what I like about Obikin is the complicated history they have and the push-and-pull of their different worldviews and how they each tug the other towards the center. For Anakin, he wants to love people with everything he has, he wants to possess them, he wants his feelings to consume him and the one he loves.  For Obi-Wan, he wants to find inner balance and peace, he wants to have his thoughts be clear because that helps him not fall prey to his feelings, and as a psychic space wizard who could really hurt people if his feelings overtook him (because their connection to the Force is their emotions), that’s one of the most important things in his life. But they love each other.  Whatever form that love takes, they each pull each other towards the middle between them.  Obi-Wan can help guide and structure Anakin, he can turn Anakin towards not letting his feelings eat him alive.  Anakin pulls Obi-Wan towards letting his feelings overtake common sense, and that may not always be a good thing, that if push came to shove, Obi-Wan might not be able to stop Anakin from killing a thousand people if it meant killing Anakin, too.  But it sure is a tasty as hell dynamic to play with, as a writer and reader! My love of Obikin is wrapped up in how I see the characters--that Obi-Wan is a patient and kind man who cares deeply about Anakin, who seeks him out in the source material to offer to talk to him, but doesn’t push because he respects Anakin’s boundaries, while Anakin is someone who wants those boundaries pushed, he tries so desperately to be in control and the rock others lean on, but he’s so bad at it and he’s constantly looking for someone to follow.  Look at the way he keeps offering the galaxy to others--he offers it to Luke in ESB, he offers it to Padme in ROTS, he follows Sidious for decades until he can find someone else to follow, that guy wants a benevolent hand on the back of his neck so bad.  He wants someone to soothe him and his upset feelings so bad.  He wants someone to make his troubles go away so bad.  And if Obi-Wan would realize just how badly cracked Anakin’s foundation is and how badly he wants that hand on the back of his neck, then I can see him stepping up into that role for Anakin’s sake, even enjoying that role for his own sake as well. And part of that is just that it’s really hot, I love a good mild-to-mid-range d/s dynamic that they both get something out of, I love when it’s paired with Obi-Wan’s dedication to helping teach Anakin, that everything he does in that relationship is to better help Anakin to a good place. I further love Obikin because I love their banter, they bicker back and forth, pulling each other up out of a funk, like at the beginning of Attack of the Clones, Anakin is a hot and sweaty mess, so Obi-Wan starts teasing him and a few minutes later, they’re laughing together.  Or on Vanqor when they’re stuck in the cave with the rancor, bickering with each other, that is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.  Or when they’re trolling Dooku together on Felucia, that was also hilarious. Or the beginning of Revenge of the Sith, where they’re bickering the entire time and it is such a great Old Married Couple dynamic, the kind where you’re so ridiculously fond of this person even as you’re crabbing to their face or laughing in their direction, they’re the person you wouldn’t leave behind, they’re the person you can’t bring yourself to kill because you love them too much, because they’re the person that’s shaped your life just as much as you’ve shaped theirs. Or they can be a Battle Couple dynamic, look at how they fight side by side, moving together in sync, like they’re two halves of the same whole.  The opening scene of ROTS was literally designed to show their ships swooping together as an extension of how close they were, how perfectly they moved together, how well they got alone.  Or look at them fighting Ventress together, they’re inseparable.  Or fighting Dooku on Obi-Diah, that spinning move they do or the way Obi-Wan is like, “I’ll give you a push!” to send Anakin flying was flawless, those two practically shared a single mind! It’s a combination of a lot of things--Anakin being a subby brat who tried to pretend he wasn’t but very much wanted that, the depth of their relationship and how much they’ve been through together, the way neither of them could ever really let the other go even when the entire weight of the galaxy and the weight of every child Anakin killed was between them, their banter was very “couple who has been married for 50 years”, they intimately understood each other and moved together like they were two halves fitting together, that they can either be terrible together or amazing together, there’s an epicness to them that lights my brain up, etc. It’s a dozen different reasons all wrapped up together that lends itself to soft moments, hard moments, complicated moments, sexy moments, funny moments, their relationship is complex enough and thorny enough that I can either wrap myself up in it like a soothing blanket or I can dissect it like it’s got a hundred layers deep “what the fuck is wrong with these two, it’s fascinating” dynamic. But, for me, I love how much they’ve been through together, I love the banter, and I love that Anakin Skywalker’s brain is full of too many thoughts and feelings and the person best suited to fuck the noise out of his head is Obi-Wan Kenobi, who is a teacher down to his very bones, who is someone who is relentless at caring about what’s best for others, who has his own complicated emotions and reactions, but will always care so much about Anakin that he’ll find a way to help him, if Anakin will accept it.  And I tend to think the best way to do that is to rail the noisy, ugly thoughts out of Anakin Skywalker’s head, until he’s too stuffed full of other things to have room for anything else. I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface here, so I’ll throw it out to anyone else who wants to answer, too!  I’d love to have more examples and just to read them for myself!  It’s totally okay that some aren’t going to ever be convinced, maybe all of the things I listed above just do nothing for you or you don’t see their dynamic that way, and that’s okay! Why do you guys ship Obikin?

WIP WEDNESDAY
A snippet from an obikin fic im writing, based on Baby Driver
For all intents and purposes, Anakin didn’t mean for this to happen. It was just one small job to pay off his family’s debts, and he was a free man. All he had to do was wait in the car outside the bank, nice and simple. But trouble seemed to keep an eye out for one Anakin Skywalker, and trouble came in the form of a redheaded man with a gun, yelling at him to start driving. Who was Anakin to refuse?
He weaved through the twisting streets of Corsucant City, pushing the speed limit as far as he could. The man in the back muttered about 10,000 dollars in cash into what looked like a burner phone. Anakin knew to keep his nose out of it. He’d been burned before.
Sirens blared from behind them, giving them chase. The man in the back told Anakin to step on it, his tone warning as to what would happen if Anakin didn’t. White-knuckling the wheel, he pressed on the gas pedal as much as he could, the car engine roaring with pressure. Anakin could feel the other man keeping a close eye on where Anakin was turning to throw off the police’s trail. If Anakin did manage to create a diversion, he looked pleased, as if he was appraising Anakin’s skills. They were racing towards an interchange in the middle of Corsucant, one of the busiest roads in the city, and it was easy to lose someone. Anakin saw two cars on the road that looked very similar to the nondescript black car he was driving, the corner of his mouth pulled into a small smile as he pulled the manoeuvre to get the police car to follow one of the other cars as he took the way towards the western edge of the city. His eyes flicked to the rearview mirror to see if no one was following them. In the all clear. But curiously, the man in the back seemed to be proud of how Anakin managed to pull off that trick, and he vocalised that too. It made Anakin feel a small flutter in his stomach but he didn’t want to look into that now.
“You’ve done this kind of driving before, haven’t you?” his passenger asked. He was looking directly into Anakin’s eyes via the rearview mirror. The other man had this way of speaking, it was charming, amicable even, but his eyes were analysing every move or expression Anakin made.
“I used to,” Anakin answered curtly, keeping his face neutral to the best of his ability. But the man in the back seemed to be able to tell that Anakin wasn’t telling the entire truth. And maybe Anakin was being too naive but felt he could trust this man. And even so, he did owe Anakin big time for getting away from the cops.
“I don’t think you’re telling me everything but either way, you’re good. Could use someone like you on my team, if you’re interested in a job,” something was slipped into Anakin’s pocket, but his gut told him not to look at it. Watto would know and his mother would be disappointed that Anakin was still involved with not-so-legal activities.
“Look where can I drop you off? Can’t risk having you in here for too long,” Anakin sighed, knowing he was in deep shit either way.
“Urscu district. You know the Outlander Club yes?” Anakin nodded, he’d been a patron of that club a few times, when money allowed. Anakin took a sharp left at a junction between the COMPNOR building and the Corsucant public library, heading into the entertainment district. It wasn’t long before he found the Outlander. The outside of the club was dark, the neon lights dimmed in the daylight. It would be an eyesore of colour once nightfall hit.
“Thank you for your help,” a wad of 100 dollar bills was slapped onto Anakin’s lap, “If you reconsider, call the number on the card, and ask for Kenobi.” The door to the car closed and the man disappeared into the club, leaving Anakin staring at the wad of cash he was left with and wondering how the hell he would explain this to his mother.

im doubling down on shipping obikin after my friends called me gross. that is NOT a strictly father-son relationship it is the most confusing mix of feelings ever did we WATCH the same movies lmfao
Yeah there are some... western-centric elements to people automatically writing off master-padawan ships and shoehorning a religious order into westernized nuclear family roles is one of them. Only one of them I might add.
There's a really good post that goes around (I'm sure I reblogged it like... aeons ago) compiling a Twitter thread about how and why the master-apprentice bond turning sexual or romantic when they become equals is an established thing in some of the Asian cultures GL uhhh "borrowed" large parts of the Jedi from and specifically why obikin is not inherently deviant.
Although if writers want to select interpretations or source material wherein Anakin would have a complex, possessive, is-he-my-father-or-my-daddy relationship I'm not opposed (I have a post somewhere on the importance of defending deviancy, and how I could've easily been a self-hating anti if not for the exposure to various obikin voices, but as a mobile only tumblr it's unfindable lmao).
Ultimately (imho) the one common thread between all obikinville, regardless of individual preference for happy, tragic, codependent, wholesome, fluff, porn, kinky, vanilla, 1k word meta posts about their dynamic, fix it or break it more, etc etc etc, is that we're here for how insane they are about each other.
And there are a lot of ways those two are insane about each other, many of which are delicious in either a literary or a sexual fantasy sense (or both).
But back to your point yes the million trillion times when Anakin is NOT looking respectfully at Obi-Wan AT ALL, he spends more time undressing Obi-Wan with his eyes than he does Padme. That is noooot son behaviour. They can barely stop psychically fucking each other's brain-bussy long enough to fight this war.
And the 928768872796489282831 ways canon is like "THEY WERE SOULMATES!"
And yes they could platonically look at each other like the sole source of all that is good and bright in this universe (Force knows that's how I see my friends) and move in such perfect unison it's like they're one body and bicker like an old married couple but hey. They could also do that romantically. Sexually even. Queerplatonically. All the above.

Obikin on horseback: thoughts?
"Why is it staring at me like that?" "She's not staring, darling, that's just her eyes!" Anakin narrowed his own eyes in suspicion, giving the chestnut mare a wide berth as he passed the row of stables to reach Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan, who was just in the process of brushing that same mare, chuckled and shook his head fondly, patting the animal's strong neck. "Don't take it personal, Boga. He's just nervous because he's never sat in a saddle before!" The horse huffed in response and turned to nuzzle against Obi-Wan's side. From his new perch on a haybale, Anakin grunted in annoyance. "I've been in plenty of saddles. Motorbike saddles. You know ... the man-made machines that I have total control over! Not some 800kg colossus with a mind of its own!" He crossed his arms, eyes still glued firmly to Boga, who had gone back to standing with her head down, eyes slipping shut as she clearly enjoyed the brushing. Obi-Wan shook his head again, then cleared the brush on the curry comb in his other hand, before placing both in their box. "Now, now, dear! It's not my fault you made that impossible bet with Ahsoka last week! Now, be a dear and grab the saddle so we can start!" I think Obi-Wan would be an excellent rider and I can see him in all disciplines, be it more casual western-trail or in those nice, tight breeches and boots of show jumping or dressage. Anakin ... either as the contrasting cowboy-horseman-rugged type to Obi-Wan's more prim and proper "English" riding style. Or as in the above with not a single riding-affine bone in his body :D

I was reading through your metas on Star Wars especially Obikin and they amazing! They’re refreshing because it seems to me the majority of this fandom forgets that Anakin/Vader isn’t the bad guy or the villain of SW. It’s Palpatine. And that’s literally the point according to GL at least as far as I’m aware. I know he’s has literally said flat out that Anakin/Vader isn’t the villain he’s just a pathetic broken man who, yes, does awful things but he’s still not meant to be seen as the “true” villain of Star Wars that most people see him as.
I don’t know why people either don’t understand this or if they just choose to ignore it because they don’t like Anakin and we see more of him/Vader than Palpatine/Sidious. It just baffles me how so many want to hold Anakin accountable for his actions and blame him for things but they will in the same breath ignore Palps. Make it make sense.
thank you so much!
I think a lot of it has to do with a certain subset of the audience's unwillingness to see a piece of fiction as a representation of tropes, dynamics, archetypes and fable-esque fantasy rather than direct correlation to Real Life Morality.
obviously in real life Anakin, no matter WHAT, should be imprisoned for life... murder is not good lol.
but in Star Wars, a story, it is obviously to me at least that Anakin is a representation of the ultimate MacGuffin. he is a CLASSIC tragic hero in the grecian sense - not good or ultimately liked or morally decent but destined by nature of his flaws to do something heroic.
Anakin is NOT a human - he is demi god conceived of the Force and essentially a barometer for the health of the Galaxy. He is enslaved, mistreated, taken away from his mother, not given consideration for his unique circumstance by the Jedi, coveted by an irresponsible Padme, prodded by a confused Obiwan, & groomed and manipulated by Palpatine. Anakin is used by the Senate as a war hero and given praise for killing thousands for the Republic. All of those Institutions and people, despite their intentions and lofty moral goals, failed him as essentially "a test" for the Galaxy - the Force was testing the moral health of the Galaxy by creating Anakin.
Anakin is the ULTIMATE slave - he is PREDESTINED by the Force and has no choice in his ULTIMATE destitn which is to "balance the force" and for this he suffers IMMENSELY. The Force created Anakin to defend the Republic, and when it was corrupt and failed (as Padme herself noted), used him to destroy it because Anakin became corrupted same as the Republic did.
Of course, Anakin CHOOSES how to do this (murder) which makes him flawed and villainous, but he is eventually pitted against Sidious because the Force "knew" he'd be the only Force user strong enough to survive the Dark Side for decades, and the ONLY ONE STRONG ENOUGH (guilty and good enough) TO RETURN TO THE LIGHT AFTER ALL THAT.
Anakin suffers in Vader's sarcophagus as punishment for his murderous destruction of the Order & alignment with Sidious - he could have theoretically achieved its "destruction" in another more peaceful way. He could have walked away from Sidious. But he didn't. He chose to do that. Anakin became flawed & corrupt in an image of the flawed Republic. (Obviously Obiwan represents the imperfect Order and Padme the imperfect Senate).
Anakin is a literary device - he is a demi god - he is and his actions are not supposed to represent real life people (that would be instead the flawed Padme and Obi-wan - who despite being good still fail bc of their hubris or selfishness).
Also Star Wars is not based on Western morality - and Anakin's relationship with the Force is one of dualistic origin. He is an angel and a demon, slave and master, kind and cruel, strong and weak, the physical embodiment of strength and the physical embodiment of pain... but Anakin is NEVER free.
He is the Force (light, good, "god")'s creation to be used to fight Sidious (dark, evil, "devil").
Anakin is the most tragic character in Star Wars and by definition is a tragic hero.
When Luke saves him, he sees this, and it gives real life viewers hope that regardless of our destiny-by-circumstance we can choose better.

First let me tell you how much I love your Twilight AU. I can't believe that I say this in the year 2023! Second I read a gay cowboy novel and now I need to ask. Did we ever talk about Obikin in jeans, chaps and in cowboy hats? Did we ever imagine them as cowboys who ride horses but also want to ride each other?
well thank you, glad you enjoyed me dipping my toes into writing some sort of twilight au in literally 2023
as for cowboys.......
the closest thing i can think of is a) a ranch hand au i've talked about before where ranch owner obi-wan catches anakin trying to steal one of his horses and takes him in for the winter months and they slowly get closer and closer until the spring/summer when obi-wan's regular ranch hands come back and anakin is no longer the center of obi-wan's attention and has to wrestle with why he hates that so much
and b) this western au outlaw/bandit ficlet i wrote a while ago where obi-wan robs anakin on a train only for him to get a lil more than some nice fine things (he gets a lil tiny obsession)

Okay so I saw some prev tags on the art you just shared that said something to the effect of: “I am desperately trying not to ship obikin but I so get the general appeal” And I am frothing at the mouth!!
Do you have any thoughts on why Obikin is viewed as this ~taboo~ ship when there are literally thousands of hetero romance books and ships out there with older man/younger woman, teacher/mentor, daddy kink, etc, etc tropes?? Like even tame hetero romance books (yes I know I am Showing My Whole Ass here) feature wider age gaps or far less equitable power dynamics with seemingly no issue?? Maybe I’m over sensitive? Maybe a combo of the fact that it’s a homosexual relationship set in one of the most popular fandoms of all time?
I’m just trying to live my life!! I need to stop reading tags and mind my own business! Sorry for dragging this to your door step!!
This has very much been a hot topic as of late where a lot of us obikin content creators are getting a lot more general attention than normal from outside our little corner of fandom. And I think it really just boils down to homophobia. Yeah people would get hella offended by you saying that, but the allowance of problematic tropes or icky power dynamics or questionable morality in Heterosexual romances while not allowing it in queer ones is an issue! It’s this societal expectation that’s been drilled into people’s heads that,oh you little gay house pets,we’ll accept and allow you and your representation, but only if you fit within an approved narrative or a dynamic we see as uwu cinnamon roll pure babies. I hate it,I hate it so much because it’s a policing of queer spaces to make them palatable to westerners who view queerness through a very specific lens, aka a colonial, white,Christian one.
@binaryeclipse made an excellent point on @intermundia ‘s post about this very issue.
Statistically speaking, queer relationships tend to have larger age gaps than heterosexual ones. This can be for a variety of reasons but usually people are gravitated towards people with different life experiences so that we can experience a broadening of our horizons and thus more fulfillment in our romantic lives. You can find that in a generational gap. So when people begin to point to the age gap as part of the source of obikin's "problematic" nature, they run the risk of treading into homophobic territory. Are you uncomfortable because there's actually an "abuse of power" going on, or are your biases for queer relationships to be only "wholesome" and analogous to heterosexual ones showing?— @binaryeclipse
We have a history, specifically in the United States,of large age gaps in queer relationships because of the AIDS epidemic. It’s built within queer culture here, and is a well known dynamic from that era on top of a dynamic well established through human history. Which only further infuriates me,because people say they “accept” queerness, but when queer relationships exist outside of their narrow world view of acceptable and non-problematic than it turns into a policing of morality from a very specific, white, western,Christian point of view. It’s a similar problem to the extreme policing and schisms in the present queer community, where you have gay youths who say if you don’t use the correct terminology or the correct flag or the correct form of expression or identity, than you’re problematic. The trans women at Stonewall who called themselves transsexual and those surviving STILL identify that way would be branded homophobic or a bigot for what some consider to be outdated language and views.
This is all to say, that it comes from a perspective of queerness that demands and expects it to fit within a perfect, whitewashed, clean and unproblematic wholesome mold in order to be accepted and tolerated. The expectation and demand for queerness to meet a perfect standard of acceptability and cleanliness is inherently homophobic. It stems from the same belief system that gayness is inherently sexual, that gay men are inherently pedophiles, and the belief that queerness is only palatable if perfectly pc and within the confines of acceptability.
Does this mean you’re homophobic for not liking obikin? No of course not that’s an absurd statement. But the vitriol people react to it,with calls of it being disgusting and based in power imbalance and incest is. Because the tunnel vision view of queer ships only being okay to ship if they’re unproblematic,is saying that heterosexual romance is allowed to exist in its base and complicated and gray forms, but queerness must be held to a stricter and higher standard in order to be okay. It’s the same as any marginalized group only being accepted if they’re the smartest, the most well behaved, the top 1% while the majority get away with skating by because of who they are. You don’t have to like obikin, you don’t have to like obikin shippers, but the assertion that the ship is dirty and wrong for a dynamic that queer people have loved one another in and engaged in all through human history? Maybe you should self evaluate to examine why you feel that way,and if it’s out of discomfort from going against what you’ve been taught as acceptable love, than I think you should further examine that.

Fic Rec Friday
File this one (Running Out Through the Storm, Through the Night by @zenyteehee) under 'Fics I Would Gladly Read 100k More Of'. It's got: Obi-Wan blowing up his nice, calm life for a chance with Anakin and an adventure, love confessions in a rainstorm, and Obikin on horseback.
(P.S. If anyone knows of any other Western-themed Obikin fics I am very very interested in this topic and will gladly gobble them up thank you.)

choose violence ask game: 6, 18, 10, 18, 24, 25
(i can’t remember which ones you’ve already done so here’s a bunch don’t feel obligated to do them all)
Ohhhh, you really did choose some violence for me! 6. which ship fans are the most annoying? I have met some extremely lovely Reylo fans, but I have also been bombarded by some of the worst Reylo fans, oh my god. Like, if you force me to choose one side or the other, I'll probably end up defending Reylo fans overall, because fandom was absolute shit to them, some of them were genuinely harassed, but also some subsections of Reylo fandom were fucking awful to others, including John Boyega, what the actual fuck. For awhile, too, you couldn't make a post about just about anything in fandom without Reylos trying to come into your space to make it about their ship, like I'm posting about the prequels era Jedi here, it has nothing to do with Rey or Kylo! Why are you trying to make it about them! I do not see this as a reflection on all shippers, however, because let's be clear, my second answer is that there is a sub-section of Obikin fans who are grinding my gears real hard and they are ANNOYING AS FUCK, christ, yet I still love the Obikin fandom. (But, honestly, I have my bones to pick with Codywan and Obitine and Anidala fandoms, too.) 24. topic that brings up the most rancid discourse Anything to do with the Jedi, but most especially anything that touches on that they're Buddhists instead of a more Western-centric religion, or pretty much anything to do with Mace's character and how he's written as an angry, mean character and how often that just so happens to get put on Black characters. It feels like these conversations never seem to get anywhere, we're all just spinning our wheels and festering together.

(Obikin, rated M, arranged marriage, a/b/o)
From this chapter:
Obi-Wan reaches the edge of the western courtyard, then stops short. Anakin is there, practicing his forms with a sword.
He handles the weapon easily, confidently, like he’s trained with it all his life. The afternoon sun makes his husband look like a figure of legend, all gleaming muscles and shining hair.
He can’t help stopping to watch—the determined glint to Anakin’s expression, the flex of his arms and back. Obi-Wan thinks absently that it’s a good thing he takes suppressants, or the scent of his interest would be flooding the courtyard already.
As it is, he’s able to wrestle it under control and move closer.
“Hello there.”
Anakin startles, whirling to point his sword at Obi-Wan as he approaches, though he quickly lowers it with a wary expression. “...Your Majesty.”
“We’re married, Anakin.” He gives the man a small smile. “I think you can use my name.”

Ok I just have to get something off my chest and yes I’m ranting at three am again.
I just want to say that I can soooo tell when an obikin anti hasn’t even indulged in the source material that they love to hate so much. If you would read the books, (whether canon or not) read interviews from the script writers/choreographers, or even just watch the damn movies with half a fucking thought in your mind, you’d know that there is nothing strictly “brotherly” or even “fatherly” about their relationship. At all. Learn how to have an abstract thought for once before you come onto the internet to spread your puritanical bullshit that no one wants to bear witness to.
Pls stop being so western oriented and understand that there is such thing as complexities and nuances in a relationship. Not everything is black and white. Also, just to throw this in rly quick, as a person who has been present in the obikin space for almost three years, I have only seen the kind of shipping you people are so afraid of (incestuous, underage, non-con) a handful of times at MOST. Stop coming on here and calling people creeps and weirdos for interpreting media… get your homophobic victorian ass back to twitter

What Remains (Obikin/Vaderwan - Star Wars) - Shortfic
Explicit // M/M // Obi-Wan Kenobi/Anakin Skywalker | Darth Vader // Tags: Set after season 1 of Obi-Wan Kenobi, physical transference through the force, dreams, or are they, hand jobs, penetrative sex, angst, heartache, past relationship, all the feels.
Thought I'd crank out something Star Wars related ready to post on May 4th!
There's still good in him, Obi-Wan can sense it...
What Remains (800 words):
Obi-Wan gasped, tears streaming down his face. He wasn’t sure if he was asleep or awake, may the or something else, lost somewhere in the force.
“I failed you, Anakin…” his own words echoed around him, as though resonating from the past. And yet the image in his mind was not of that troubled young man, but the sith he had become. All he could see was Vader in that cracked helmet, no longer Anakin within.
Only Vader now. At least that was what he said - that was what remained.
“Obi-Wan…”
Drawing a sharp breath Obi-Wan woke and sat up. He was covered in sweat but the moisture on his face was tears. He looked around, trying to get his bearings, now in the hut at the edge of the Western Dune Sea, still not wholly familiar. But it was home, and he placed one hand on the wall of the hut, feeling the cool of the mud and letting it ground him.
As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, Obi-Wan swallowed and allowed himself to recline back on the bed once more.
