🍸 (your choice of OC, though I suspect Cal would be getting some love ahahah)
Esther grabbed Cal by the arm, dragging him toward the jukebox, shooting Mary May a smug self satisfied smirk. Feeling very bold after so many drinks, her words slurring.
"Come on good looking, dance with me."
Bonus cuz I had a cute idea:
Trying to walk past Sabrina as casually as possible as she sat with her drink, dropping the small piece of paper in front of her. Micheal tried to be subtle watching her look at the scrap of paper.

SEMI-FINALS: Deputy Calahan Hartley V Kit Cross
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Deputy Calahan "Rookie" Hartley (@inafieldofdaisies)
About: Calahan is 23, the main source of Sheriff's Whitehorse headaches and occasional bane of John Seed's existence. A destructive pretty boy that ends up wreaking havoc anywhere he goes and quite often finds himself in trouble thanks to his cockiness and daredevil nature. Still, this is just the way he likes things anyway. What's a party without a little fire?
Does your OC have anything to share?: "Strategy? Pfft. Like I'd reveal my secrets."
Kit Cross (@socially-awkward-skeleton)
About: Kit Cross, former soldier turned Deputy for the Hope County Sheriff's Department. She's cold and ruthless and all too happy to take out Peggies, until of course the Seeds start digging their fingers in and she becomes a feral and savage member of the cult's army better known as "The Lion".
Does your OC have anything to share?: "I've killed more people than I can remember, I won't be losing any sleep over a few more."

Can i get 🛁 - A nice, relaxing bath for either sabrina or cal? Whichever one you think deserves it more :)
Prompt from this post.
Originally I settled to do it for Sabrina, since for the life of me I couldn't imagine Calahan ever taking a bath unironically (not that he deserves it less), the closest he's ever gotten to taking a bath is when John almost drowns him at the Cleansing. 🤣 But ... I ended up writing a little something for Hartley too, including it after her snippet.
Tumblr media
Sabrina was awakened by the sunlight streaming through the ranch's windows. She realized they had forgotten to close the curtains the night before, too engrossed in each other and in the moment, then all she could remember was drifting off in his bed, their bodies entangled. A look at her watch revealed it was past 8 am. Usually she'd wake up at sunrise or before the sun even made an appearance, she couldn't believe she had overslept.
It's his bed. It's just more comfortable. Right.
Sabrina laughed internally at the poor excuse. It wasn't the bed, it was John, no matter how much she tried to ignore that fact. Ironically it was in his arms where she felt safe, she didn't have to stay awake until tiredness finally took over and her brain had overworked itself enough. She allowed herself few more extra seconds in his embrace, absorbing the warmth his body radieted, like her own personal blanket. With a sigh she carefully moved his arm that was resting over her waist and got up, stretching her body, feeling a sweet soreness in her limbs.
The cool air hit her naked skin, making her shiver. At the foot of the bed she found his shirt laying discarded on the floor, as she put it on Sabrina took in his scent, the smokey expensive cologne he used enveloping her in the same way he was holding her. She looked over at his sleeping form under the sheets, the calm expression on his face made him appear younger, peaceful, carefree. "For once I'm watching you sleep and not the other way around.", she whispered, then tiptoed over to the master bathroom, not wanting to wake him up, knowing he needed rest as much as she did. Sabrina was freshening up when an idea hit her. During her stay an the ranch she had been eyeing the bathtub in the bathroom she usually used, yearning to de-stress for a few minutes. At the end she always settled for a quick shower, feeling too guilty to pamper herself while the County was at war. She walked over, her body convincing her to draw a bath this time. With the water at just the right temperature and smelling heavenly, she was about to get in when the door opened. "You didn't wake me.", John sounded a little hurt. Sabrina turned around, her eyes taking him in: He was shirtless, all of his tattoos on display, barefoot, sleep pants hanging low on his waist, his hair messier than usual with strands falling on his forehead in defiance. In few strides he was in front of her, the sleepiness still lingering in his gaze. "You looked too peaceful to", she responded and hugged him, her arms locking at the nape of his neck as her eyes met his. "And you look good in my shirt, Ms. Donovan.", John retorted, pulling her closer by the waist and leaning down for a kiss. "Should have seen me in my detective days, then.", was all she could get out before he silenced her. When their lips met, Sabrina felt the same giddiness that took over her the first time he kissed her, the same hunger he was trying to quench. She nudged his chest and broke the kiss, knowing full well they'd get carried away otherwise. "My bath is getting cold and I have to make breakfast for Savannah." "Then we better get you out of that shirt.", he smirked, his fingers going to work on the buttons, garment hitting the ground in seconds. His pants quickly followed suit. "You didn't even ask to join me, Seed. What if I need some alone time?", Sabrina raised an eyebrow. "It's my bathtub, Deputy." She made a move to playfully smack him on the chest, but he caught her wrist and kissed her palm. "Sabrina", he drawled, correcting himself, "I'm just riling you up. So, can", a kiss, "I", followed by another, " join", and another, "you?" She gave his chest another push, "As long as you don't try to drown me." John backed away, laughing, his blue eyes shining playfully, "As brazen as the first time we met." He moved around Sabrina, stepping into the water. He sat down, making himself comfortable, then reached out a hand to her. She couldn't help but chuckle at the sight, at John Seed enveloped by bubbles, "Spa day at the ranch. But hell, I forgot your rubber ducky." "Get in, Sabrina." And so she did, nestling against him, her back to his chest. She was right, the water was getting colder already. John had his right arm resting on the edge of the tub, the left was wrapped around her waist, holding her close, something that was turning into a habit. Sabrina grabbed his hand in hers, intertwining their fingers, looking at his tattoos. At times she still found herself in disbelief that he was the man from her visions. "You making breakfast for me too?", he murmured inbetween kissing her back, his teeth playfully grazing the spot where her shoulder and neck met, lips quickly soothing the sting. "I have to, after last night. You need your energy back.", she broke into laughter at his hand tickling her waist. "My energy is just fine. But you already know that.", he whispered in her ear. "I might need a demonstration." "Will you now?" "Yes, you see-" His lips against hers silenced her as his hand descended underwater, making her forget about her bath and the water going cold.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sabrina entered the ranch, unable to shake off the feeling something was wrong. Her and Savannah had gone out on a walk, while John was away doing God knows what. She was sure she had closed the backdoor on their way out. Then she saw them: muddy footprints leading from the entry past the kitchen and up the stairs. An intruder. "Rin-Rin? What's wrong?", Savannah could sense her worry. "Stay here.", Sabrina told her sister. Leaving her to sit on the couch in the living room. On her way upstairs, she grabbed her gun from John's room. "I'm living it in here. Regular and Bliss bullets. So I know you two are safe when I'm not present.", was what he had told her before he left the last time. She set on checking the upper levels of the ranch, gun raised in front of her, eyes tracking the footprints that led to the guestroom that nobody used. Sabrina opened the door, the room was empty but a godawful noise was coming from the bathroom. The most off-key singing I've ever heard. "What the fuck?", she whispered. She expected an attacker, not an America's Got Talent reject. With quick strides she was in front of the bathroom door, swinging it open and rushing in. The sight made her freeze in her tracks. Calahan was taking a bath and signing on the top of his lungs while smoking a cigarette. His clothes were thrown in a heap in the middle of the room. "KID? What the fuck?", Sabrina was dumbfounded. "Gray!", Hartley was so startled by her sudden appearance he almost dropped his cigarette in the water as he made a move to cover himself, desperately gathering the remaining bubbles. She twirled around, grabbing a towel off the rack and chucking it next to the bathtub. She then tucked the gun in the back of her jeans, seeing how no actual danger was present. "Out.", she shouted. Calahan gave her a sheepish smile, as he put out his cigarette on the edge of the tub and picked up the towel. Sabrina turned, staring at the door she came through, refusing to be flashed further. "Front is clear, Gray." Hartley had the towel wrapped around his waist and was tracking water across the floor as he headed for his clothes. "What are you doing here?" "I needed a break from all the fuckers chasing me. Was close by and figured this might be the only place I'd find a friendly face at." "And if John was the one to find you?" "Eh," Cal shrugged, "he would have been pissed, even better." "Kid.", Sabrina gave him a pointed look. "I needed this, Gray. Haven't rested in days, forgot even when I showered last. Felt like a better option than the river", he sent her a wink, "You might want to turn around again…" Sabrina shook her head, exiting the bathroom as she shouted, "Get your ass dressed, Deputy." Few minutes later Calahan emerged too, his body covered by dark jeans, faded sweatshirt and denim jacket, while he carried his dirty boots in one hand. His gaze landed on Sabrina sitting on the bed, "Sorry. I really mean it." "My sister is downstairs, terrified, Calahan. You've tracked in mud all over the house. And now I need to bleach my eyes.", she groaned, "You're lucky John isn't here. I'm really not in the mood for you two bickering like children." "I'm sorry.", he repeated, paired with the best puppy eyes he could muster. With a sigh, Sabrina got up and gave him a hug, "I'm glad you're okay. And here." "I missed you too, you know.", he responded, patting her back with his free hand. "Okay, that's enough.", she backed away, wiping her eyes, "Come now." Sabrina opened the bedroom door, heading straight for the stairs. "I'm going to make us some lunch, while you make sure the house is spotless. Deal, kid?" "Deal."

WIP Wednesday | Tagged by @socially-awkward-skeleton @nightbloodraelle & @direwombat <3 | Tagging @vampireninjabunnies-blog @strangefable @shegetsburned @fourlittleseedlings and anyone else with something to share
I'm coming at you this week with the first chapter from Calahan's POV (would this be a regular things, no idea), I'm including two snippets from Chapter 4 since I'm yet again torn about what to cut.
Tumblr media
Needless to say there will be mentions of violence because he's escaping some Peggies and there's nobody to hold him back.
“Go, Calahan! I mean it. FUCKING RUN.” Calahan could hear the desperation in Sabrina's voice. The Gray he knew was always so stoic, unflinching when dealing with the Peggies, but from the second they set foot in Joseph's church, it was as if a switch have been flipped, coming face to face with the bastard himself had rattled her deeply. She somehow knew the arrest would end badly and tried her hardest to warn them. And yet, he was too busy trying to wrap things up in attempt to get them all away from the compound as soon as possible. His instincts were screaming at him to get HER away from John Seed's calculating gaze. Calahan saw the way he stared at Sabrina, as if an opportunity had finally been presented to him. The fucker was giddy to see her. The look on his face said it all: he found her distress entertaining and the way he was watching her… he was waiting to pounce, like an animal on its prey.
Gray's voice kept echoing in his mind as he ran through the dark woods, a dampness hung in the air, making it hard to breathe, to push forward. Shouts of Joseph's men carried over from all directions, a confirmation they were still on his tail, searching tirelessly, refusing to see their leader's captors get away. He was being hunted, and not in the fun way. Guilt was weighing heavy on him. Calahan knew it was too late for the others, in a blink Joseph's men were surrounding the helicopter, taking away Hudson, Whitehorse, Pratt, but the fire had bought him time, enough to get Sabrina out, yet she insisted he leave her. He knew why, she was protecting him, choosing to get herself out on her own, refusing to chance both of then getting caught. Idiot. Why did I abandon her?! Just like I abandoned him. He kept hoping she would catch up, that she'd make true on her promise to follow close behind. That moment never came. A small hunting tower appeared among the trees, first sight of civilization on his path so far. Calahan climbed it in search of a weapon, he had lost his gun in the chaos of the crash. All he found was a hunting knife and his pursuers were armed to the teeth. "Keep your eyes open, those Sinners could be anywhere." The voice was coming from close by, from a camp just below him. Two Peggies were standing near a campfire, no doubt part of the search for him and he was about to greet them. Hunt them like they were hunting him. Calahan got down from his lookout spot, silently moving towards his targets. In his dealings with Eden's Gate usually he'd take any opportunity to cause as much ruckus as possible, the louder, the better. Silent approach or deescalation wasn't his method of operating, it was more fun to see them lose their shit, to make them feel the same anger he felt after Joseph destroyed his family. Whitehorse had plenty to say about his performance as a Deputy, probably would have had a lecture prepared for his next moves too. He gave no fucks about the paperwork, the code of conduct, he had to fight back if he wanted to survive, those that didn't escape depended on him to get help. "I never thought I'd see the Reaping happen, brother.", the younger Peggie picked that exact moment to take a piss, heading away from the fire, turning his back on his companion. Judging by the lack of awareness and how unsure he was in his patrol movements, Calahan guessed the cultist couldn't had much experience. The incaution presented an opportunity for him to strike. "Joseph's always right, he knew they'd try to take him from us, God spoke to him and now He is going to-", the companion's sentence was cut off, followed by desperate gurgling as Calahan slit his throat from behind. "Why don't you go meet him yourself.", came as a whisper from Hartley.
"What-", the Peggie fumbled with his pants, a horrified expression on his face at the sight of his buddy's body splayed in the mud. Before another word left his mouth or he had time to reach for his gun, Calahan had thrown the knife straight at his eye, ending the poor guy's unfortunate first night of patroling. "Two down. A whole ass cult more left to go." He was searching the bodies as Burke's voice came from his walkie, "Hello? Anyone hearing me? It's Burke. I think I lost them… I see… a trailer nearby, it's next to a long bridge. I'm gonna try and get inside. If anyone's still out there, if anyone's alive-" "Marshal? I'm on my way. Over." Calahan got no reply back, but he had a weapon now, and a destination. Through the trees in the distance he could almost make out the bridge the Marshal had mentioned which meant the building he saw should be nearby. He pushed forward, not wanting to waste time in case someone decided to check in on the dead men behind him. "Next time I'm bringing a flamethrower, a bag of grenades and Sharky. Can't fucking believe we set a foot in Joseph's compound unprepared. Whitehorse, you foolish old man.", Calahan mumbled to himself, feeling like he'd lose his mind any second, the steps he took felt doubled with no sight of the trailer anywhere ahead of him. Only pines upon pines and the starry sky above him. Just as he was about to give up and try to contact Burke again, in the darkness he saw it: the faint outline of a house made him pick up his pace even more. In few strides, he was at its front door. Locked. Fucking perfect. "Backdoor it is. That's what she s-." Focus, idiot. Calahan made his way towards the back, scowling at the Eden's Gate symbol sprayed on the wall. They were everywhere, taking over anything they could. Upon entry he was almost knocked out again as Burke lunged at him with a battle scream. "FRIENDLY, for fuck's sake.", Hartley shouted back, pushing the Marshal off him. "Jesus Christ… Rook. I'm sorry. I thought they got you… come on, come on.", the man that got them into this whole mess and then ran off, was out of breath. Burke pulled him further into the trailer, it looked like nothing short of the home of a madman. The bedroom walls were covered in pictures of Joseph Seed, some even framed. Eden's Gate bibles or as his followers called them "The Book of Joseph" lay on every available surface. The living room was no better with a giant portrait of the Seeds as a centerpiece. Really brings the homey feel to this horror show. "Oh Jesus! I had no idea. Fuck!", Burke pointed at the family picture, grabbing it off the wall and throwing it across the room as rage overtook him, "We're putting this whole family away. All of 'em. Fucking lunatics!" "Because the last time we tried that it all went so well. You fucking left us, chief.", Calahan shook his head. He had done the same to Sabrina, but he had to direct his anger at something. "It would be different, I'm gonna make sure of it. We're going to get out of this, Rookie.", the Marshal walked towards a gun rack, grabbing a rifle. "First, we gotta arm outselves. Here.", he passed it to Hartley, then reloaded his pistol. "You got a tank hidden somewhere to go with that?" "Ha. Alright, here's what we're gonna do. There's a road out there. We're gonna take it, we're gonna head northeast. It's probably only a few hours back to Missoula. And then we're gonna come back here with the goddamn National Guard and we're gonna take out the rest of these--" Burke's pep talk halted at voices coming from the outside. "Come around this way! Check inside the trailer!"
They had company. "They're in there!" was all Calahan could hear, followed by series of gunshots that shattered the windows of their shelter. He got into position at one of them, the situation was becoming familiar, so many times he'd found himself surrounded by angry Peggies with little cover. He was ready to fight his way out of there too. In a flash he took out the men in front of him, a clean, methodical kill. Then just because he could, he blew up a red flammable barrel and with it the last remaining Peggie. Sharky would have been proud. "This is what you get for hiding behind exposive shit!"
Tumblr media
"Dutch, you're lucky I'm not afraid of heights." His last task was to get the Radio Tower on the island back online if they were to reach more people. "Just don't fall off, Rook." "Okay, ready?", Calahan flipped the switch. "We back online?" "Oh, yes, kid, and it's chaos. You better hurry over." And Dutch wasn't exaggerating, distress radio calls were coming in from all over the County, including Holland Valley. "Please! Is anyone there? The Peggies rolled in here like an army! Started throwing people into trucks…" Hartley recognized her voice immediately. Mary May. "I'm begging you if you've got a gun, get to Fall's End. John Seed's set on taking the whole town. Pastor Jerome and I will do whatever we can, but we need your help… Eden's Gate won't take us alive." "I have to get to them, Dutch." More of his friends were in danger and to think how quickly it all happened… It's like a nightmare on fast forward. "You will, kid. But before you go, there's something else you need to see. John Seed's been broadcasting it on a loop." Dutch turned on the TV and there he was: John Seed, grinning while cheery motivational music played in the background, wearing the same conniving look on his face that he had back in the church when he saw Sabrina. "We are all sinners. Every one of us." "You sure that's new? His bullshit broadcasts always start like this, Dutch." "Just watch, kid." Calahan listened to the same lines the fucker used over and over in attempt to convince people they are sinners, saying how he'd embrace them for it and free them through the "Power of Yes". It was nothing he hadn't seen before until it wasn't… Until the camera panned over to Hudson. The sight broke him- her face a mess from crying, a tape covering her mouth. "Yes, I am a sinner. Yes, I wish to be unburdened. Yes… I must be redeemed." John held Hudson by both shoulders, shaking her with each Yes, putting his hand on her throat. "If you're watching this, know that you have been selected. You will be cleansed. You will confess your sins, and you will be offered atonement. Don't worry you don't have to do anything. We'll come for you. Welcome to Eden's Gate." "Turn it off. NOW.", Calahan couldn't handle hearing the cheers around John for a minute longer. "Sorry, kid. But at least we know Hudson's alive." Silence took over the room. "Play it again, Dutch." "You okay, Rookie? You just screamed at me to turn off the TV and now-" "I have to see something." Dutch complied, "What are you looking for?" "Somebody I left behind." Gray. Does he have you too? The broadcast played over and over to the point Calahan swore he could hear John's voice echoing in his skull. It felt like he'd seen his smug face enough to last him for a whole lifetime. "How many times will you watch it?", Dutch was probably questioning his sanity. "She's not in it." "Who? I'm lost here, boy." "Sabrina. She's the newest Deputy. I left her, Dutch. Left her behind." "Kid, we all sometimes have to leave people behind-" "No. I shouldn't have. I shouldn't have listened to her." "You gonna get her back, get them all back." Dutch paused, "Still doesn't explain why you had to brainwash yourself with John Seed." "At the church. Something happened-- and he-- he was watching her. His look then… if she's anywhere, she'd be with him." Hartley was certain of it. He'd heard enough about John's obsessive nature and the way he stared at Gray set off alarm bells in his head. Her reaction at the church had made her a target, awoke an interest in the man. And I left you. "Rookie? You listening to me?" Calahan realized he had zoned out, and had no idea what Dutch had said in the past few minutes. "I said, if John has Sabrina why isn't she in the video? You know the man, the YES sign, billboards, his whole appearance… he loves to show off. Hudson was in it. Why wouldn't Sabrina be too?" "I don't know." "You just have to be level-headed about this. No rushing at John, unprepared. The people of Hope County need you, Deputy. Now more than ever."

🤫 for Calahan
He needs a break
Tumblr media
Prompt from this post | 🤫 - Some peace and quiet
The closest I can give him, so sorry, Cal, I love ya, I promise.
The Spread Eagle was unusually empty when Calahan entered, his day had started at 5 am with a couple of Peggies stumbling across his camp and ruining his chance at some needed rest. "You've been marked, Sinner! John is coming to get ya-", was the last thing their leader said before Hartley send him to meet his beloved maker. And since then, his day was going just peachy. He needed a drink, or more like five. No rest for the wicked.
"Rookie, the usual?", Mary May shot him a smile from behind the bar. "Why is it so quiet, gorgeous?" Seeing a friendly face was already brightening his mood. "Take a guess." "What do I win if I guess right?", his wink made Mary May roll her eyes. Her reaction caused him to think of Sabrina and how she never took his charm too seriously either. Where the fuck are you, Gray? Who has you? He couldn't go 5 minutes without thinking about all the people close to him that the Seeds had captured few days back. It made him restless, angry, ready to lash out at any Peggie that crossed his path. "First drink's on me." Calahan gave her his best "I'm so lost in deep thought" face, the same one he used anytime Whitehorse lectured him on how he should be behaving as a Deputy. Damn. Can't believe I actually miss you, old man. "I'd say-" A cracking sound from his walkie cut him off followed by the voice of no other than John Seed himself. The man was high on the list of people he couldn't wait to punch in the face.
"Depuuuutyy."
From Mary May's expression he guessed she was thinking the exact same thing. Calahan was in no mood to deal with John's childish games.
"Now, I know you're hearing this, Deputy… Hudson sends her greetings."
That did it, made him cave in, entertain the fucker. "Where is she, sinnerman?"
"Don't worry about that, soon you will be joining her. You took care of the men I sent today, but know this- the time for your Cleansing is nearing, Deputy. Running from your sins is pointless. I-" "She's awake, boss."
A voice interrupted whatever he was about to say next, his line going silent. "The fuck was that?", Calahan looked at Mary May in confusion, "Did I hallucinate all of that just now, God knows I need sleep…" "I know. I've never heard that man ever shut up so quickly." Mary May set a glass in front of him.
"It's on me. Seems like you need it after whatever that was.", she gestured to his walkie, "And you can go lay down on the couch upstairs, get some rest, you look like shit." "Thanks, gorgeous." Hartley finished his drink then headed up to the office, fully expecting for John to resume his villain monologue any minute. And yet it never happened… whoever had just woken up was keeping him busy, giving Cal a chance to recharge.

Calahan leaned back in the booth sighing heavily. Questioning his decision not to end this bullshit with John Seed at the ranch. Sure it would've been wrong to kill him in front of his wife, his kid but he also realized an opportunity like that probably wouldn't pop up again. And the woman offered him pie, honestly he was as bemused by that as John had been.
He opened his eyes when the bar suddenly got quiet, and turned toward the door. Esther smiled at him and made her way over to sit across from him, setting down the pie she carried on the table, ignoring the uncomfortable stares of everyone present.
"Can I help you ma'am?"
He eyed her suspiciously. She seemed oddly comfortable walking into a bar full of people determined to kill her husband.
"Just thought I'd bring you the pie I offered."
He had to admit it did smell damn good. He smirked at her.
"All the way here just offer me pie. Don't think John's going to like that much."
She cocked her head to the side in a way that made her resemble a small bird. A smile forming on her face, sly and not quite reaching her eyes.
"True but he also didn't like being threatened in our living room. So I figured you wouldn't care if he liked it or not."
She watched him carefully like she was studying him, trying to figure something out in her head. Calahan shifted leaning forward in his seat pulling the pie closer.
"Didn't just come here to give me pie did you."
It wasn't really a question, and despite everything he'd heard about her she was still a Seed. And caution was always warranted with a Seed. Even one as sweet as her.
"No you're right. It wasn't my only reason. I wanted to talk a bit about earlier."
"What about it? Don't tell me you came here to convince me not to kill John?"
He laughed a bit at the idea.
"Look I let him off the hook this time but at the end of the day it's me or him. You seem...out of place in that family but the rest of them are fucking psychos. And I have a job to do."
Esther looked at him, sadly. Sighing softly and biting her lip.
"Hartley you're a good guy. And I appreciate you not shooting my hummingbird today but I don't think you really understand everything going on here. None of you do."
"Yeah I know the sales pitch. End of the world and all that"
She chuckled lightly at that.
"No. That's not what I mean. I don't have any real faith in Joseph or his visions. But I do have faith in his need for control. People like Joseph don't share power. And he fully intends to be the only member of this family walking through those gates. You and the Resistance are tools, he's using you. You're just a gun."
Esther stood looking at him her face taking on an unusually stern expression.
"I have no intention of letting Joseph have his way. I know there has to be a way to end this peacefully. And I won't let you make me a widow."
She smiled as she headed for the door, looking back at him.
"Enjoy the pie...and stay out of my home."
Calahan watched as she left. Unsure what to make of the encounter. Unsure what to make of her. She wasn't like the rest of them but he was pretty sure that was a warning he should take at least somewhat seriously.
As she left Esther hoped he would think about what she had said. He really did seem like a good guy and she has a feeling he didn't really want to kill anyone.

🧸 for Sabrina, please? - fourlittleseedlings
Prompt from this post |🧸 - A soft plushie
Tumblr media
"Another one down, Gray." Calahan reloaded his MBP.50, fully determined to finish the task silently and beat Sabrina's time. "Almost sound like you're humble-bragging, kid." "You're the one that dared me to do it.", came as response, followed by a wink. The F.A.N.G. Center, now turned into another Eden's Gate outpost was swarming with Peggies and Judges. Sabrina looked at the the giant waving Bear statue among the pine trees and wondered what had happened to the beloved mascot of Hope County's animal sanctuary after the Project had overtaken its home.
When Hartley called her the day before and said he has something fun planned, Sabrina wasn't sure what to expect, especially when usually almost all of his ideas ended up in chaos. Stepping back into the Whitetail Mountains and risking tipping Jacob Seed off about her presence certainly wasn't something she had on her to-do list. She was in no rush to come face to face with him again anytime soon. "You gonna get the last alarm?" "Shh, don't ruin my concentration. Damn, this guy is taking his sweet time pissing. I'm about to break my rule about not shooting a man with his pants down." "Like my view is that much better. Another truck pulling in from the South, more wolves." "Is Jacob building an army of Judges or what?", Cal pulled the trigger as he said that, cleaning out another cult member. "Won't put it past him and to think he wanted to get his hands on Boomer." Sabrina didn't want to imagine her loyal companion's fate if he ended up in one of the experiments of the oldest Seed. "And that's your potential brother-in-law you're talking about… Fucking insane, Gray." "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that." "Joking. But seriously, whatever you see in John… I'm glad you're happy." As of recently Calahan was making efforts to get along with John or at least control himself more and not start a petty war anytime they were in the same room. It's... progress. "Aw. Wait until he hears you almost complimented him." "Don't you dare." The outpost was almost empty and with a minute remaining on the clock. "Last one!" The F.A.N.G. Center now belonged to the Resistence, no doubt something Jacob wouldn't be too happy about. Calahan and Sabrina set on their usual rotation of checking for civilians that might have been locked up and gathering ressources. "A gift, my lady." With a cheeky smile, Hartley presented her a Cheeseburger plushie he had picked up from a pile inside the center's office. "Aw. Why, thank you." Sabrina hugged the soft stuffed bear close to her chest, "I'm so getting one for Savannah." "Now come take a picture of me with the Cheeseburger cut-out." It was typical Cal: turning a liberation operation for the Resistance into a mischievous photoshoot. "Hey, over here!", a man wearing a beanie and Cheeseburger T-shirt called out to them. He thanked Sabrina and Hartley for helping push Eden's Gate out of the F.A.N.G. Center. "I'm Wade. Wade Fowler. Me and my brother ran the center before Jacob's people barged in. After the way you handled them Peggies, I might have the task just for you two." "How can we help?", Sabrina asked. "The cult tried to take Cheeseburger, so I set him free. Last I heard, he was causing all sorts of mayhem, someone should go find him, make sure he's alright." Calahan turned to Sabrina, giving her a devilish smile, "How about we go get ourselves a friendly Grizzly, Gray?"

Brin and Calahan again
I love them
Questions from this post
10. Who’s the first person your oc goes to to talk about something that made them happy? Sad? Angry?
12. How does your oc handle talking to somebody they can’t stand? What if it’s a situation where they’re forced to work with this person?
14. If your oc spent one day free from any consequences or recognition for their actions, how would they act?
Tumblr media
10. It honestly depends on the situation and who's around to talk to. Not to mention if Brin would feel like sharing what's on her mind. She loves being around her sister though she'd avoid heavy subjects when it comes to Savannah, she's open to talking with Joey and Calahan.. and depending on where in the story we're at, she would discuss it with John most likely. When it comes to happiness, she can't help but pass it along. For sadness and anger, it depends on the level, she'd either deal with it on her own or lean on someone when she's had enough.
12. Sabrina is used to placating people and usually isn't quick to tell them off. But again, it depends on the level of annoyance they're serving.
If she has to work with someone she doesn't like, she'd try to stick to the mission and remain calm, especially if a lot is on the line. Kinda how everything with John starts. :D
14. She wouldn't go full on Purge mode or anything, she would probably end up having the most uneventful day ever since she's so used to chaos and things going wrong already. Oh, and she'd destroy Joseph's statue, then it's chill time.
Tumblr media
10. If Cal feels like actually talking about things, he'd either go to Chris or Sabrina, if he craves distraction he'd reach out to Hurk or Sharky so they can cause some chaos.
12. Calahan would let them know he ain't happy about the collaboration, he wouldn't be full on hostile but he's not someone that fakes being friendly. For talking: he would likely keep the conversation civil, lukewarm at most, depending on who the person is.
14. Oh, the mayhem. He'd probably challenge himself to do as much damage as possible, to-do list included.

2,24 and 26 for Sabrina and Calahan
Questions from this post
2. Is your oc picky about food? What kinds of foods do they like and dislike? What do they consider a comfort or “safe” food?
24. What is one thing that, no matter who it’s coming from, would anger your oc?
26. How does your oc handle anger?
Tumblr media
2. Sabrina isn't that picky about food, as long as it's delicious and properly cooked. 🤣 She so drawns the line at burned dishes.
Comfort foods = anything homemade, especially if it reminds her of her childhood or better times
24. For her it's definitely if someone endangers, hurts or decides to use her younger sister as a pawn. A code that she doesn't like to see broken.
26. Sabrina is by default calm and calculated, she's not quick to lose her temper and generally tries to find a rational approach to get out of a situation, intead of letting anger drive her. The moment she actually loses it, is when you know things have gotten serious.
Tumblr media
2. Calahan certainly doesn't have a picky taste when it comes to food, especially once the Reaping starts.
He loves salty foods, a good breakfast.
24. Injustice, putting innocent people in danger, betrayal.
26. At times Calahan finds it tricky to control his anger, especially when it comes to the Peggies, if things get too outrageous in a situation, he's bound to retaliate without thinking of the danger his actions could put him in. Still, he occasionally allows people to talk him down from rash decisions. But he's definitely the main source of headaches when it comes to Whitehorse. 🤣

Some of Leslie and Cal's adventures, plus a tiny teaser of a new OC that's a member of the Resistance *nudge nudge*
Tumblr media
"Brother Jo-", one of the Peggies uttered out in confusion, not getting a chance to finish whatever he was about to say thanks to Calahan's fist connecting with his face. Parish took down his buddy as he was reaching for his walkie to call back-up. "Aye, Leslie, see what I mean about using you as decoy?" "Very funny." "It would work. You can straight up march into his bunker and they'd be none the wiser." "Sure, past the first gate. Then I'd be dead." Calahan rolled his eyes as he walked over to the civilians and pulled out his switchblade, "Not if we have the right outfit. Come on, Detective, doesn't your kind love going undercover?" One by one the men and women were freed of their zip ties, muttering quiet thank yous before scrambling down the road towards Falls End. "Stay safe, people.", he called out after their retreating forms. Leslie released a groan and sent a hateful look at John's billboard ahead of them, "I'm not dressing as John Seed, Calahan." Hartley looked up from the man he was meticulously tying up, "For now." "Ever." "We will see." Seconds later the two Peggies were in the place of the people they were planning on kidnapping: defenceless and restrained in the back of the Eden's Gate marked van. "What do we do with them?", Leslie asked as he slammed the doors shut and secured the lock. "I'm gonna call in my buddy. Oakley's gonna make sure we get whatever information we can out of them. It ain't everyday we get potential alive informants." "Think they know about Sabrina?" Hartley raised the walkie to his mouth, "Doubtful. Come in, Moore. Over." Silence filled the other line but it wasn't long before Oakley Moore's modulated voice broke it, "Rookie. Listenin'." "I have a package for you, just outside Fall's End near the fucker's billboard. Two 'volunteers' for pick-up." A haunting chuckle mixed with the static, "You know how to start my morning just right, buddy. I will be right there. Over and out." "So… Oakley?" Calahan smirked as he patted Zorro's head before starting the truck, "John's not the only one who can make people talk and spill out their secrets."

Far Cry OC Tournament Round 1A: Hannah Lamb, PhD v Deputy Calahan "Rookie" Hartley
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Voting and info on our contestants under the cut!
Hannah Lamb, PhD (@ladyoriza)
About: Hannah Lamb is a licensed counseling psychologist who is not immune to Joseph's waistline. Originally sent to Hope County too simply assist in the arrest and provide de-escalation, she ends up the target of Joseph's weird obsessions and eventually agrees to join Eden’s Gate in exchange for her friend's safety. She also made out with Joseph during the Bliss trip where he showed her the Apocalypse. While she's genuinely in love with Staci Pratt (mutual), she ends up marrying Joseph to further sell her plot, but that kind of backfires as she catches feelings. She and Joseph end up with twins, and Hannah ends up stealing the cult for herself. Their kids are weird as hell and Hannah couldn't be prouder.
Does your OC have anything to share?: "Remember how House Tyrell won everyone over? That's how I won the cult over."
Anything else to add?: She's my manipulative queen <3
Deputy Calahan "Rookie" Hartley (@inafieldofdaisies)
About: Calahan is 23, the main source of Sheriff's Whitehorse headaches and occasional bane of John Seed's existence. A destructive pretty boy that ends up wreaking havoc anywhere he goes and quite often finds himself in trouble thanks to his cockiness and daredevil nature. Still, this is just the way he likes things anyway. What's a party without a little fire?
Does your OC have anything to share?: "Strategy? Pfft. Like I'd reveal my secrets."

OC Character Edit | Deputy Calahan "Rookie" Hartley | The Daredevil The Diviner and The Baptist edits: vol. 1 / vol. 2 / vol. 3 / vol. 4
Rite of passage, classic havoc Match in the gas tank, ooh, that's wretched Unstoppable, legendary animal Digital justice, now you're gonna know us Hail to the king and queen of the ruckus
Right after coming across a picture that sparked an idea for a John x Sabrina edit, I found one that immediately screamed Calahan to me and I just had to do a little something for him too (the destructive pretty boy is taking a break from chasing Peggies or being chased by them in that piece). <3 Featuring Zorro, of course.
