Trying out a new style of refs for OCs! Meet Nova and Thirio- more info about them under the cut. if you even care

OKAY. NOT NORMAL ABOUT THESE GUYS. WHERE DO I BEGIN.

Nova (he/him) is a star- roughly 15x the sun's mass, and has lived for billions of years (he's sustained himself with magic for a majority of the time so he wouldn't have to rely solely on nucleosynthesis)! Of eldritch beings, he is the oldest- and quite eldritch. (His true form can only be witnessed from billions of lightyears away, so what you're seeing now is a...simplified form.)

Thirio (he/they), meanwhile, is a black hole. He's a lot younger than Nova, but he has quite a lifespan ahead of him. He's one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful eldritch being.

The two share magic abilities- a powerful, offensive celestial magic, and manipulative illusion abilities. Nova prefers the star magic, while Thirio would rather use the illusion magic.

Thirio hates Nova. Nova doesn't know who Thirio is. They've never met or lived at the same time.

OC Fact #13

Thirio and Nova have the same magical abilities. They can both wield celestial star-themed magic, and have incredible psychic abilities that can manipulate the minds of their victims.

Nova prefers to use his natural star magic. He's used the other, and it makes him uncomfortable.

However, Thirio prefers to use his mental abilities. Nova's reliance on celestial magic makes him hate his own star magic.

Let it be known that all of this is come up off the top of my head and will likely be very crackheaded but. oh boy.

Ass: It doesn't happen often but sometimes I have characters that are caked up. CEO (the gal in my pfp) happens to be one of them

Bastard: My villain OCs. Notably Thirio, Assourdi, and Bi.

Cringefail: Outlander. He's dramatic and proud and petty but I love to shake him like a wet rag

Demon: Plenty of OCs! Like previously, the Outlander. Also Dr. Kruger and Rynne have been demonically influenced... though I might change the lore on that.

Eldritch: A good amount of OCs are eldritch gods. Thirio, Nova, Attakai and many more.

Flirtatious: since I'm an aroace loser I don't have many flirty OCs, but Zerie kinda hits the mark

Girlboss: Not my OC but SHOUTOUT TO @corrupted-tale's character Pix. She's my honorary blorbo and 100% is a girlboss

Introverted: So many of them. Zerie is introverted around people he doesn't know well

Jacked up: Hare looks like a twink but he's actually pretty muscular

Kissable: robot tv head OC Dislan is so so nice. give him a lil' smooch.

Laid-back: Zerie's chill most of the time!!! Most. of the time.

Maidenless: THIRIO GETS NO BITCHES

Nameless: Switch lost his true name :)

Optimistic: Benji!! lil' guy has so much hope for the world. you go dude.

Paranormal: How could I not mention the ghost mama Jaide? She's nice despite being very much dead

Queer: Literally all of them. It's not even intentional. The asexual radiation gets to them

Rizzed up: Suza knows how to flirt, if given the chance.

Short: I project on my OCs so a lot of them are short like me. Rynne and my sonas especially

Testosterone: Quint is an absolute himbo of a Man. what does he look like? Man. like. Man shaped. I'm not sure how best to describe it. He's just a Man.

Underrated: Narrator and Brittlebrine, some of my newer ones. I need to think about them more.

Wise: Nova was well-renowned to be the wisest and kindest being out there. Before he died y'know.

Xosi: Xosi's just an actual oc. best boy. I also need to think about him.

Yassified: Hare gets progressively more and more confused about his gender throughout his arc and gets some nice clothes at the end

Zestful: Levi, as a little kid, was a little bundle of energy! Before he died y'know.

OC Fact #34

Attakai, thanks to her exceptional healing abilities, is the central healer for the Syndicate. Any warriors wounded on missions are brought to her, and she can heal them quickly without leaving scars.

The one being that visited her most frequently with wounded warriors was Thirio.

And the one warrior that was injured most often was Hare.

OC Fact #58

Hare was treated like the gifted kid in the Syndicate despite his lack of magic and all his punishments for failure.

He was recruited for his potential with alchemy. At the mere age of 12, his work was unmatched. In the end, all his concoctions had perfect results- thanks to self-experimentation and the help of an eldritch god to undo any errors, of course.

Hare lived off of the praise he got for doing well. His entire mental state was centered around the feedback he got. Compliments made his heart soar and disappointment hit hard for him. Both motivated him to work harder to endlessly please the one in charge, Thirio.

I dunno I'm having gender thoughts. So here's the gender of almost all the characters in Ambivalent Souls

Maroon: he/they, Doesn't really want to use a specific label.

Zerie: he/they/she, Demiboy

Krystll: she/her, Cis

Hare: Gender? Um, yeah, he has one. He's...not sure what it is. He goes by he/him pronouns but using other pronouns for him makes him happy

Midnight: She/they, Demigirl (just like me fr)

Xosi: They/she/he, Genderfluid

Feil: They/zey, Agender

Nova: He/him...I dunno all eldritch beings just kinda decided their gender when they were first formed. Not really cis but he is in his mind. Cis+ but if stargender is a thing he'll get really excited about that

Thirio: He/they. What do you mean people have names for what gender they are.

Attakai: She/her but she's okay if you accidentally use the wrong pronouns for her.

Tsumi: He/they. Leaning more toward a genderfluid label. Doesn't quite understand what gender is but yeah, they have gender. No, they are gender.

Vipsi: They/she/he. Gender? What's that? Who cares? Yeah they have pronouns. Do they care which ones you use? Absolutely not.

Epithymia: They/them, somewhere in the questionable Agender spectrum.

OC Fact #45

Nova, as a star, is filled with complete and utter joyous whimsy whenever he learns anything new about the world and how humans live their lives. To him, humans are little cute Creatures that have such interesting ideas and lives :)

Thirio, in contrast, does not have joyous whimsy. He's quieter and would much rather observe the psyche of humans and how that could be affected rather than the cute little things they do.

OC Fact #43

Tsumi, Nova and Attakai's son, was the first eldritch being to be born of two other beings.

As son of some of the most reputable and kind beings, he took it upon himself to become a symbol of justice in the world. That included practicing kindness, and that's what he mainly wanted to use the job for.

But he grew up never knowing his mom, and was raised by a dad who didn't live up to expectations. Neglected, he put his kind ideals on the back burner and instead used his power to hunt down multiversal threats. A different kind of justice, but one that was just as beneficial.

OC Fact #46

Maroon spent a lot of time being closed-off in his early days. As a child he was quiet, shy, and anxious. When hatred completely overwhelmed him, he was cruel, destructive, and angry. Even in his recovery from that, he put up an edgy front and tried to push people away.

Maroon's forced out of that habit when his very soul is changed. A stability that'd been there for most of his life is suddenly made unstable, and his emotions come spilling out of him whether he wants them to or not. After months of trying to hide them and almost hurting himself and his loved ones because of that, he finally decides enough is enough.

He makes the active decision to try to be a good person. He's always been a good-natured person, gentle and kind at heart. Why hide that? His arc becomes one of self-acceptance and love as he grows and works and learns to become someone better.

However, he is also a major believer in the fact that if kindness doesn't work the first time, going absolutely apeshit and ripping someone to shreds is the solution.
